00:30 Today's prayer topic is on serving.
00:33 As I searched the dictionary the first definition I read, 00:37 it says serving is a quantity of food 00:39 suitable for or served to one person 00:42 as in a large serving of spaghetti. 00:44 So I immediately move on 00:46 because that's not the serving I'm looking for or is it? 00:50 Listening to the definition again, 00:52 a quantity of food suitable for or served to one person. 00:57 How much am I serving of myself to others? 01:00 Is it a full serving or just a partial serving? 01:03 Do I give my all or do I withhold? 01:07 In Mark 10:45, Mark says, 01:09 "For even the Son of man did not come to be served, 01:12 but to serve and give His life a ransom for many." 01:17 Jesus set the standard on serving 01:19 when He gave everything He had, including His very life. 01:23 It's only appropriate then when asked 01:25 what is the greatest commandment Jesus paired, 01:27 loving God with all our heart, soul and mind, 01:31 with loving our neighbor as ourself. 01:33 Only when we surrender to serving God 01:36 and our fellow man, fully giving of ourselves, 01:39 will we understand what it means to be like Jesus. 01:53 Lord, I thank You 01:55 for Your continual life of serving. 01:58 I pray that as I study Your life, 02:00 that my life will reflect You in the way that I serve others. 02:08 Serving You, Lord, with all humility. 02:12 Let this above all be the desire of my heart. 02:17 In Jesus' name, amen. 02:22 Dear Heavenly Father, we thank You for blessing us 02:25 with so many opportunities to serve. 02:28 But, Lord, as we are serving, I just ask that You 02:31 would help us to do so with the right motives. 02:33 Help us to be motivated by love, 02:36 Your love for us, 02:38 and us wanting to share that love with the world. 02:42 Father, help our motives to be pure, 02:44 and help us to follow Christ's example of service. 02:48 Lord, He was a servant leader and is a servant leader. 02:52 And, Father, I just ask that You 02:55 would help us to be as effective 02:58 and efficient as possible in our service for You. 03:03 Thank You for hearing this prayer. 03:05 In Jesus' name I pray, amen. 03:10 Father, we come today to You in prayer, 03:12 asking for the guidance of the Holy Spirit. 03:16 Father, we wish to serve You during this crisis 03:19 as Your hands and feet on this earth 03:21 to be used by You. 03:24 We need the guidance of the Holy Spirit 03:25 and Your love to be filled 03:27 and flowing through us 03:29 that we might lift You up 03:31 that all men and women will be drawn to You in love 03:34 and their lives changed. 03:36 Father, we thank You 03:37 for the privilege of serving You, 03:39 of being Your hands and feet during this time. 03:42 Father, give us strength and discernment 03:45 that we will glorify Your name. You've called him to God 05:26 that we would each truly seek You 05:29 and seek in ways that we can serve 05:32 and what we can do, 05:34 Lord, for Your grace and Your strength, 05:36 Father, in Jesus' name, amen. 05:41 Father in heaven, Lord, I come before You 05:43 and I thank You, Father, 05:45 for the opportunity that we as Your people 05:48 have to serve You and to serve others. 05:51 Unfortunately, Father, sometimes pride 05:53 and other things get in our way of serving others, 05:56 and bringing joy and happiness to their lives. 05:59 So, Father, I pray that 06:01 You will help us to love these people 06:03 and desire to serve them as you served Your disciples. 06:06 I thank You that, Lord, even though you were King, 06:09 you came down in the form of a servant, 06:12 and You served, and You did things for others. 06:16 So I pray, Father, that You help us 06:17 as Your people to follow in Your footsteps, 06:19 and to serve others as You serve them, 06:22 Lord, not to expect ourselves to be served, 06:24 but to desire to make other people's lives better. 06:28 I thank You, Father, in Jesus' name. 06:31 Amen. 06:35 And I will serve Thee 06:39 Because I love Thee 06:44 You have given life 06:49 To me 06:53 I was nothing 06:56 Before You found me 07:01 You have given life 07:07 To me 07:13 Heavenly Father, I ask that You would give me a heart, 07:16 like the heart of Jesus, a heart more ready to serve 07:20 than be served. 07:22 A heart that is moved by compassion 07:24 toward the weak and oppressed. 07:27 A heart that is set upon 07:30 the coming of Your kingdom on earth as it is in heaven. 07:36 Holy God, I pray for all the different kinds of people 07:40 to whom Jesus gave special concern and care 07:43 when He was on earth. 07:46 For those needing food or drink or clothing, 07:51 Father, for the sick 07:52 and all those who are wasted by disease, 07:56 for the blind, for the disabled, 08:00 for people suffering 08:02 from the life shattering diseases, 08:04 like leprosy in Jesus' day. 08:08 Today, it might be things like HIV and AIDS. 08:13 God give me the courage 08:15 and the compassion 08:19 to serve those people. 08:23 Father, I pray for prisoners. 08:26 I pray for those who are oppressed by any injustice. 08:30 I pray for refugees and asylum seekers, 08:36 for the homeless, 08:38 and all the lost sheep of our society 08:43 for victims of sexual exploitation and abuse. 08:50 Father, I lift them up to You. 08:53 You see them and you know them, 08:55 you know their need. 09:01 Father, I pray for the lonely. 09:04 Wrap Your arms around them, Lord. 09:08 Let them know that they are not alone, 09:12 even in their loneliness. 09:16 And, Father, I pray for the multitude of parents 09:22 around the world. 09:24 Those who are in happy marriages 09:26 and those who are in unhappy marriages. 09:31 For those who are single 09:35 raising children. 09:38 Lord, I ask in Jesus name, 09:44 touch our homes, God. 09:49 May Your Holy Spirit 09:51 just flow in those homes. 09:55 Give them love for one another. 10:02 Lord, I lift up the worried 10:03 and the anxious, 10:06 the stressed, the overwhelmed. 10:15 Father, I pray for those who are fighting 10:20 bravely for unpopular causes, 10:24 Lord, that covers a vast field. 10:29 I pray for those who are working diligently for You 10:33 throughout Your world. 10:36 Lord, I pray that You would grant Your loving-kindness 10:40 in giving me so much. 10:43 May I not take for granted 10:49 all that You have blessed me with, 10:54 rather move me to lay the burdens 10:59 of others on my heart, fill me with compassion 11:01 for their needs. 11:07 When I face adversity, oh God, 11:09 I pray that You will help me not to... 11:15 Become self-consumed 11:17 and forget everyone else around me. 11:21 Lord, I want to remember to serve others. 11:30 God, give me a heart to serve others, 11:35 get me out of sight of my own little world, 11:40 help me to serve others. 11:45 Let's take time to pause to pray. 12:20 All to Jesus 12:23 I surrender 12:29 Make me Savior 12:32 Wholly thine 12:36 Let me fill Your 12:40 Holy Spirit 12:43 Truly know 12:46 That You are mine 12:52 I surrender all 12:58 I surrender all 13:05 All to Thee 13:09 My blessed Savior 13:14 I surrender all 13:22 Lord, I surrender all 13:32 I encourage you today to find someone 13:35 who needs you
