00:15 Hi, welcome to day two of 10 Days of Prayer,
00:18 a prayer plan from our friends at 00:20 revivalandreformation.org. 00:22 In John 16:8-11, 00:25 we see how the Holy Spirit works 00:27 in our lives in three phases. 00:29 First, he convicts us of our sin 00:31 to bring us to Jesus. 00:32 Second, he convicts us of Christ's righteousness 00:35 which is sufficient to save us. 00:37 And third, he expels Satan and sin from our lives. 00:41 Are you familiar with conviction? 00:44 Do you even know what that means? 00:46 In one word, conviction is guilty. 00:49 Conviction shows me that I'm wrong 00:51 when I thought I was right. 00:53 Conviction teaches me the truth about myself. 00:56 And there are times when no one has the courage 00:58 to tell me the truth about myself, 01:00 except the spirit of truth. 01:02 Listen to this. 01:03 In each of us 01:05 under the conviction of the Holy Spirit, 01:06 there weighs a sense of guilt and condemnation. 01:09 John Bunyan in Pilgrim's Progress 01:11 portrayed this weight 01:12 as a heavy pack on the back of pilgrim, 01:14 which he didn't lose 01:16 until he reached the cross of Christ. 01:18 When you and I realize how guilty sin is, 01:21 and how condemned we are as sinners, 01:23 we begin to feel the weight of that load. 01:26 Conviction can take place during a sermon 01:28 or a Bible study through a comment 01:30 or a conversation with a friend, 01:33 even in the criticism of an enemy, 01:35 or when facing a crisis or problem. 01:37 The Holy Spirit will use 01:39 whatever means he needs to use to reach you. 01:42 But when the Holy Spirit convicts you, 01:44 do you respond, repent and begin a new, 01:48 or do you carry the baggage of sin 01:50 and guilt around you for a long time? 01:53 Hebrews 4:7 pleads with us, 01:55 "Today if you will hear His voice, 01:58 do not harden your hearts." 02:00 The Holy Spirit speaks to us, 02:02 his conviction brings us to repentance 02:04 so that we will not be hindered by sin, 02:07 so that we can grow and mature in Christ. 02:10 If the Holy Spirit has been convicting you of sin 02:12 and you've been avoiding repentance, 02:14 simply repent and be assured that your repentance 02:17 won't bring condemnation. 02:19 Confession brings forgiveness. 02:23 So the Holy Spirit lovingly, firmly 02:25 and immediately convicts us when we sin. 02:29 Therefore, our response 02:30 to conviction needs to be immediate, 02:33 repentance and confession. 02:45 Holy Spirit 02:48 Thou art welcome in this place 02:55 Holy Spirit 02:58 Thou art welcome 03:02 In this place 03:06 Omnipotent Father 03:11 Of Mercy and Grace 03:16 Thou art welcome 03:19 In this place 03:26 Fill all the hungry 03:30 and empty within 03:35 Restore us, 03:37 oh Father revive us again 03:48 Holy Spirit 03:50 Thou art welcome 03:55 in this place 03:58 Thou art welcome 04:03 in this place 04:18 If you're watching and you're iffy 04:20 with this conviction stuff, 04:23 let me quickly take you through some scripture 04:26 that explains it clearly. 04:30 In Romans 3, we're told, 04:32 "There is none righteous, for all have sinned 04:34 and fall short of the glory of God." 04:37 Romans 6 tells us that "The wages of sin is death. 04:41 But the gift of God is eternal life 04:43 through Christ Jesus." 04:46 And my favorite John 3:16, 04:48 "For God so loved the world 04:50 that He gave His only begotten Son, 04:52 that whosoever believes in Him 04:54 will not perish, 04:56 but have everlasting life." 04:59 Ephesians 2 informs us that 05:02 "We are saved by grace through faith, 05:05 not our own goodness. 05:07 It is the gift of God, not our own works." 05:12 And 1 John 5 says, 05:13 "If we have accepted Jesus by faith, 05:16 we know we have eternal life." 05:21 And Romans 8 seals the deal. 05:24 "The Holy Spirit 05:28 Himself bears witness." 05:31 And we know that we are sons and daughters of God. 05:36 Each day as we turn to Jesus and pray, 05:41 we can receive His forgiveness and grace. 05:44 As the children of Israel went out daily 05:47 to receive manna from heaven. 05:49 So we daily renew our relationship with Jesus, 05:52 the bread of life. 05:55 Through the presence of the Holy Spirit 05:56 moving in our lives, we confess our sins to God. 06:00 We accept the righteousness of Christ on our behalf. 06:04 And we are enabled 06:05 to resist the temptations of the devil. 06:11 So I just encourage you 06:13 to trust Him for salvation today. 06:29 Come, every soul By sin oppressed 06:35 There's mercy with the Lord 06:41 And He will surely 06:45 Give you rest 06:48 By trusting in His Word 06:55 Only trust Him 06:58 Only trust Him 07:01 Only trust Him now 07:06 He will save you 07:10 He will save you 07:12 He will save you now 07:19 For Jesus shed 07:22 His precious blood 07:25 Rich blessings to bestow Plunge 07:31 Now into the crimson flood 07:36 That washes white as snow 07:43 Only trust Him 07:46 Only trust Him 07:49 Only trust Him now 07:56 He will save you 08:00 Yes, He will save you 08:03 He will save you now 08:16 Join me as we enter into a time of prayer. 08:22 Dear Father in heaven, 08:24 I acknowledge that I am a sinner. 08:29 Please forgive me all my sins 08:31 as You promised in Your Word You would do. 08:36 And thank You that 08:37 You give me eternal life in exchange 08:39 when I take You as my Savior. 08:43 Today I choose Jesus. 08:46 And I cannot wait for Your return, Lord. 08:54 Lord Jesus, I want to walk always 08:57 in the presence of the Holy Spirit 08:58 so that I may detect 09:01 the very approach of the devil 09:04 and his evil spirits. 09:08 God give me Your discernment 09:09 to recognize and strength to resist 09:14 Satan's temptations. 09:18 I'm trusting in You now, Lord, for salvation. 09:23 Me I have joyful and confident assurance, 09:27 so that my life may attract lost souls to You. 09:35 Dear Lord, I know that 09:36 there are so many people in the church 09:39 who only have religion. 09:43 They don't know Jesus. 09:45 They don't know His saving grace. 09:47 Please send Your Holy Spirit to convict them 09:50 of their sin and lead them to Jesus. 09:54 Cause them to be weary of marriage ceremonies. 10:00 May they hunger for the true presence of God 10:03 in their lives. 10:06 Lord, I thank You for assurance that 10:08 You hear our prayers, and that You love us, 10:11 and that You save us, and that You heal us. 10:17 Lord, I pray for those who are in spiritual 10:20 and mental prisons. 10:24 Lord, set them free from guilt 10:29 and other captivities. 10:34 Lord, we ask that You would please raise up 10:36 an army of students who are willing to serve You, 10:41 to serve as missionaries in difficult places, Lord. 10:47 I ask that You would raise up brave missionaries 10:49 willing to work among the 746 people groups 10:53 in the 20 countries of the Middle East. 10:59 God, I pray for a great missionary movement 11:02 in Northern Asia Pacific and Southern Asia Pacific. 11:08 Empower these people to do Your work, God. 11:11 Empower them by Your Holy Spirit. 11:17 I pray for the 202 million people 11:20 in the 41 least reach cities of Southern Asia Pacific 11:26 that they may know Jesus. 11:32 And, God, I pray for the youth who are living dangerously 11:35 for the Lord 11:36 on various missions throughout this world. 11:40 Lord, protect them, 11:41 wrap Your hedge of protection around them. 11:50 God, I pray for those who have been involved 11:54 recently in accidents. 11:59 Lord, namely in automobile accidents. 12:04 Father, those who need physical healing. 12:09 Lord, we acknowledge that You are our great physician. 12:18 Father, I lift up to You those who are victims of stroke. 12:27 God, I pray that You would rejuvenate, 12:31 and restore, and heal brain tissue 12:36 and brain cells by Your almighty power. 12:48 May those with heart issues. 12:52 Lord, suffering with AFib. 12:54 Lord, I pray for them, 12:58 that Your healing power flow through them. 13:03 Those who are encountering difficulties with breathing, 13:08 God, I ask that oxygen 13:10 would begin to flow through them, 13:12 even as we're praying. 13:17 Restore oxygen into their lungs even now, God. 13:24 Thank You for Your healing power. 13:30 Lord, we have so many requests 13:32 that people are asking 13:37 for family and friends and their hospitals. 13:41 God, I pray for blood pressure issues 13:43 to be healed without the use of medicine. 13:51 For those who are on dialysis, 13:57 God grant healing. 13:59 May Your blood flow through them, Lord, 14:04 your healing power. 14:07 God restore the damaged organs. 14:11 And those with skin issues, 14:15 with bone issues and muscle issues, Father, 14:19 You are able to heal and we trust You to heal. 14:26 We depend on You to heal. 14:31 If you fall under any of those categories, 14:34 I encourage you to... 14:36 Only trust Him 14:41 Only trust Him 14:45 Only trust Him now 14:52 He will heal you 14:56 Yes, He can heal you 15:01 He can heal you now 15:10 Just trust Him for your healing. 15:14 God, I know that You've heard the prayers 15:16 of Your children 15:17 who are praying for their parents, 15:19 prayers for salvation, 15:21 for physical healing, for financial assistance. 15:24 Lord, please honor those prayers 15:26 according to Your will. 15:32 God there are those with ailments and sickness 15:35 that have been sick for so long 15:36 that they're weary and desperate 15:39 for a healing touch from You. 15:42 God, please move on their behalf. 15:45 Remind them that Your grace is sufficient 15:48 and that You are a very present help 15:50 in time of need, oh God. 15:56 Lord, give them strength 16:00 to hold on. 16:04 I pray for the protection and safety of our loved ones. 16:07 Father, those who are alone 16:12 and lonely, Lord, 16:15 may they feel Your presence, oh, God. 16:21 May they find strength in Your Word. 16:26 May they know Your newness. 16:29 Oh, God, Your newness are good. 16:35 For those who are in need of deliverance, 16:38 whatever the case Holy Spirit draw near to them, 16:42 give them strength to not be moved 16:46 and allow faith to rise up in them. 16:53 God, we hear of people 16:54 who are in critical situations 16:58 as far as housing, 17:00 they need affordable housing, God. 17:02 People who are being removed from nursing homes, 17:10 and yet their family doesn't have time 17:15 to take care of them or the resources. 17:20 Lord, 17:25 they need Your help. 17:28 God, meet this need. 17:32 Lord, I know that You own the cattle on a thousand hills. 17:35 So I'm praying for Your financial blessings 17:37 on those who are in need of a financial touch. 17:42 Particularly funding to go to school for better education, 17:47 to have better jobs. 17:52 And for those who, Lord, 17:57 are waiting for a job to open, 18:00 please lead them to their dream job, 18:03 that they may testify 18:04 to their co-workers of Your goodness, 18:06 and of Your provision, and of your salvation. 18:13 God, I lift up those who are single, 18:18 desire a spouse. 18:22 You said, "It isn't for us, isn't good for us to be alone." 18:29 For those who are childless, 18:35 wanting a child. 18:40 God, we trust You that 18:44 You know what is best 18:46 and we trust you to provide the answer. 18:51 In all of this, Lord, we know that 18:54 we need You to come to our rescue, God. 19:05 We need You, Lord. 19:11 You are the source of life 19:18 And I can't be left behind 19:24 No one else will do 19:31 And I will take hold of You 19:39 'Cause I need You Jesus 19:42 To come to my rescue 19:47 Where else can I go? 19:52 There's no other name 19:55 By which I am saved 20:00 Capture me with grace 20:05 I need you Jesus 20:08 To come to my rescue Lord, 20:13 where else can I go? 20:18 There's no other name 20:21 By which I am saved 20:25 Oh, capture me with grace 20:32 I will follow You 20:47 Lord, come to our rescue, we pray. 20:51 And words could never seem adequate, 20:54 it could never be adequate to express 20:56 the gratitude in our hearts, Father. 20:58 You are more than we deserve, 21:00 more than we could ever ask for. 21:01 You're always with us in all circumstances. 21:04 So I will be thankful. 21:07 I will rejoice in all circumstances. 21:11 Whenever my life seems to crumble, 21:13 You're there, Lord, You gently hold me. 21:16 You pursue me, You love me back into Your fold. 21:19 There are times when it's hard to thank You. 21:23 But I look back now with gratitude 21:27 for even the most painful trials, Lord. 21:31 You teach us of Your love, of Your faithfulness, 21:36 of Your goodness and grace. 21:42 Father, thank You that 21:43 You show us immense forgiveness 21:45 and mercy in the midst of our sin. 21:50 And because of the way You've proven yourself 21:52 in the trials of my life, 21:53 I can be thankful in all circumstances, 21:56 because I know You're working for my good 22:00 and for Your glory. 22:03 Thank You for the times that 22:05 You have turned my mourning into dancing, Lord, 22:09 to joyful dancing. 22:11 You've taken my clothes of mourning 22:12 and you've clothed me with joy 22:15 that I might sing praises to You. 22:20 Lord, I cannot keep silent. 22:24 I will give You thanks forever. 22:28 So I need You Jesus 22:32 To come to my rescue 22:37 Where else can I go? 22:42 There's no other name 22:46 By which I am saved 22:51 Oh, capture me with grace 23:02 Remember, the power of prayer should never be underestimated. 23:08 James 5:16-18 declares that 23:12 "The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective." 23:16 Elijah was a man just like me and you, 23:19 he prayed earnestly that it would not rain. 23:22 And it didn't rain on the land for three and a half years. 23:27 And then again he prayed and the heavens gave rain 23:31 and the earth produced its crops. 23:35 You see, God most definitely listens 23:39 to our prayers, 23:41 and He moves in response to prayers. 23:45 So keep praying. 24:27 Thank you for joining us during this
