00:14 Hi, welcome to day 4 of 10 Days of Prayer,
00:17 a prayer program from our friends at 00:19 revivalandreformation.org. 00:22 Acts 1:4-5 says, 00:24 "And while staying with the apostles, 00:26 Jesus ordered them not to depart from Jerusalem, 00:29 but to wait for the promise of the Father, 00:31 which He said, You have heard from Me, 00:33 'For John baptized with water, 00:35 but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit, 00:38 not many days from now.'" 00:40 Listen to this testimony. 00:43 I visited a man who was passing away 00:45 from an incurable disease. 00:47 I prayed and tried to encourage him 00:49 with God's love and mercy. 00:50 But when I left his home, 00:52 I was struck with how powerless 00:53 I felt in this situation, 00:55 and how powerless so many Christians seem to be. 00:59 As I compared my life 01:00 and the lives of other Christians, 01:02 with the New Testament Christians, 01:04 the contrast was shocking. 01:06 As a result of that visit, 01:07 I determined to thoroughly study the subject 01:09 of the Holy Spirit in the Bible 01:11 In my Bible study, 01:13 I discovered the baptism of the Holy Spirit. 01:15 That experience changed the lives of Peter, 01:18 Paul and everyone else 01:19 who received God's Spirit in fullness. 01:22 Even Jesus was empowered by the Holy Spirit. 01:25 Until the Holy Spirit descended upon Him as a dove, 01:28 He had remained in the carpenter's shop. 01:30 After the Spirit came upon Him, 01:32 Jesus did the work of the Messiah. 01:35 In Bible stories, we always find 01:37 some evidence indicating that the power of the Holy Spirit 01:40 has been bestowed. 01:42 On a Friday night, around 10 pm, 01:45 our eight year old daughter called out for mommy. 01:48 As my wife went to our daughter, 01:50 I decided to go into my office to pray. 01:52 As I prayed, I sensed the divine presence 01:55 of Jesus enter the room. 01:57 I began to speak to the Lord with great fervency, 01:59 and a hunger for His Spirit's presence in my life. 02:02 Soon I saw Jesus at the door of my church, 02:05 lovingly placing His nail pierced hand 02:08 on the shoulder of each church member, 02:10 with a gracious welcoming expression. 02:13 Jesus asked me, "Do you love My people?" 02:16 I could say, I did love them. 02:18 But I had to admit, a few of them 02:20 were particularly hard to love. 02:22 The tears began to flow as I confessed my sin. 02:26 Then I saw the nail pierced feet of Jesus 02:28 standing at the pulpit where I preached each week. 02:31 Jesus said, "I died 02:33 so that I may forgive and save the people of this world. 02:37 Are you preaching the gospel each week 02:39 with passion for lost souls?" 02:42 I could say it was my desire to preach the gospel 02:44 with great urgency to save the lost, 02:46 but I felt so unworthy in His presence. 02:49 The tears flowed as I confessed my sins to Jesus. 02:53 Then I saw the crown of thorns 02:55 forced down on to His brow. 02:57 I heard Jesus say, "I humbled Myself 03:00 even unto the death of the cross, 03:02 do you seek praise from men?" 03:05 I could say, "I did not want the praise of men." 03:07 But I tearfully admitted I struggled with pride. 03:10 I felt completely unworthy 03:12 and unacceptable in His presence. 03:14 And the tears flowed even more profusely. 03:17 Suddenly Jesus pulled aside His robe 03:19 and I saw His side 03:21 where the spear had pierced Him. 03:23 He said, "Those who come to Me, I will never cast away." 03:27 Then I felt the complete love and acceptance of the Lord 03:30 as I had never felt it before. 03:32 I knew my sins were forgiven, 03:34 and I knew I was accepted by Him. 03:36 I was basking in that revelation 03:38 when I heard my wife starting down the stairs. 03:41 I looked at the clock, it was 12 o'clock midnight, 03:44 two hours had seemed like only minutes. 03:47 I wasn't ready to talk about what had happened. 03:49 So I went back to bed and turn my back to the door, 03:52 so my wife could not see me awake. 03:54 Enter the room, she asked, "What happened to you?" 03:57 I said, "What do you mean?" 03:59 She said, "I know something happened to you, 04:01 I can tell. 04:02 Now what happened?" 04:03 So I told her everything 04:05 and my wife immediately went out 04:06 to the living room to pray by herself. 04:08 I could hear her calling out to God, 04:10 that she would also be blessed. 04:13 The next Sabbath I felt the power of God. 04:15 As I preached my sermon, 04:16 several people made decisions for Christ that day. 04:19 And afterward, a man asked, 04:21 "Pastor, did something happen to you last night?" 04:25 Amazed, I said, "Why would you ask that?" 04:27 He said, "I know something 04:29 must have happened to you last night, 04:30 I could see a glow on your face." 04:34 Then I shared what had happened and he said, 04:36 "Surely, the Lord has visited you." 04:38 That year 37 people gave their lives to Jesus. 04:42 And in the years since that night, 04:44 hundreds of people have made decisions for Christ. 04:47 May the Lord forever be praised. 04:51 In Acts 4:31, we read, "And when they had prayed, 04:55 the place where they were assembled together was shaken, 04:59 and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, 05:01 and they spoke the word of God with boldness." 05:03 You see, the early church received powers, 05:06 they prayed for God's Spirit to come upon them. 05:09 And Luke 11:11-13 say, 05:12 "If a son asks for bread from any father among you, 05:15 will he give him a stone? 05:17 Or if he asks for a fish, 05:18 will he give him a serpent instead of a fish? 05:21 Or if he asks for an egg, will he give him a scorpion? 05:25 If you then, being evil, 05:26 know how to give good gifts to your children, 05:29 how much more will your heavenly Father 05:30 give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!" 05:34 The baptism of the Holy Spirit is given to those who seek Him 05:38 through prayer. 05:49 Spirit of the Living God 05:56 Fall afresh on me 06:03 Spirit of the Living God 06:10 Fall afresh on me the Holy Ghost 07:07 Fall on me 07:12 Anointing, fall on me 07:22 Join me now for a time of prayer. 07:26 Dear Father, I ask that You would please baptize me 07:30 in the Holy Spirit, that I may live in love for You 07:35 with power and with success. 07:40 It's my great desire, Lord Jesus, 07:42 that I may represent You well to this world. 07:47 So please prepare my heart to receive the Holy Spirit 07:51 and share Your love with the people in my life. 07:58 God, please guide me into all truth, 08:00 so that I may always do those things 08:02 that are pleasing in Your sight. 08:07 Lord, let your Holy Spirit reveal to me 08:10 what You want me to know and what You want me to share. 08:15 Let my convictions and my burdens 08:19 come from Your heart 08:20 and not from my own selfish tendencies. 08:28 Lord, we pray that our loved ones 08:30 who have left the faith will remember 08:33 what it was like to be in fellowship with You 08:37 and will long to be reunited with You. 08:42 Lord, help them sense and accept Your love 08:45 and forgiveness. 08:58 Lord, we ask for Your protection 09:00 over missionaries 09:01 who are working in dangerous places. 09:08 We can't ask enough for their protection daily. 09:15 We pray for the 16 million people 09:17 in the six least reached cities of the South Pacific division. 09:22 We pray for the daily baptism of the Holy Spirit on members 09:25 as they reach out and love to the unreached. 09:31 We pray for the Holy Spirit to help us to know 09:34 how we should reach, 09:36 how we can reach the 406 million people 09:40 in the 105 least reached cities 09:42 of Northern Asia Pacific division. 09:45 Oh, God, so many people need to know, 09:47 so many people need to hear that You love them 09:51 and that You care and that You died 09:54 to save them. 09:59 Lord, I pray that You would bless 10:01 those who are serving as chaplains in prisons 10:05 around the world. 10:09 God, I pray that You would give them wisdom 10:11 and grace to shepherd the prisoners, 10:16 Lord, in those unique situations. 10:23 Thank You for calling each of us 10:26 to different ministries. 10:28 Thank You for helping us 10:30 to remember 10:32 that the responsibility is mine. 10:34 It's a personal responsibility, 10:39 to visit those in prison, 10:44 to visit those in the hospital, 10:50 to feed the hungry. 11:00 Father, I lift up those who are bound by addiction 11:04 that they would surrender all to You. 11:10 I bring those to You, who need to put 11:12 into practice a healthy lifestyle. 11:16 Holy Spirit, I ask to give us the desire 11:19 for the things that build us up, 11:21 instead of the things that tear us down, 11:23 those destructive habits. 11:27 God cause us to realize that 11:29 we have the victory through You. 11:31 You won the war at Calvary. 11:35 Help us to lay hold of that victory. 11:46 God, I pray for those who are under demonic attack 11:52 and under the harassment 11:56 of the devil. 11:59 Jesus, only You can break 12:00 the dark and heavy chains of the enemy. 12:05 Jesus, only You are the way, 12:09 and only You are the truth and the life. 12:14 Jesus, break the chains. 12:25 Father, for those who are going through 12:26 severe health issues. 12:31 Father, fill us with compassion, 12:34 for those who need healing, God, 12:37 and grant Your healing to them. 12:42 Those who are in hospitals, 12:44 for those who are under hospice care, 12:47 I ask for peace and for healing. 12:55 For the family members, 12:57 who have to patiently standby 13:01 waiting for Your healing. 13:07 God, give them grace and mercy. 13:12 Lord, we all have family members 13:14 that need a touch from You. 13:17 I thank You for caring 13:19 and for meeting those individual needs. 13:24 For parents who have trouble disciplining their children, 13:27 for couples dating that shouldn't be dating due to, 13:32 it being a dysfunctional relationship. 13:36 God, so many scenarios and situations, 13:39 that we need Your Holy Spirit, 13:41 Lord, to intervene and supply wisdom 13:45 that only comes from You. 13:48 Only comes from You, God. 13:51 So help us to seek the Holy Spirit, 13:53 in everything we do. 13:59 Anointing, 14:04 Fall on me 14:08 Anointing, 14:12 Fall on me 14:16 Let the power of the Holy Ghost 14:21 Fall on me 14:26 Anointing, fall on me 14:45 Lord, I lift up to those to You, 14:48 those who are weak in the faith, 14:51 those who fall away too easily. 14:55 God, I ask that You will give them 14:56 a hunger and a thirst for righteousness, 15:00 and for Your Holy Word. 15:04 Lord, Your Word says, 15:06 "If we will hunger and thirst, 15:08 we will be filled." 15:11 So help them to lay hold of Your promises, 15:13 and to rise up to be great witnesses for You. 15:21 Lord, I pray for Christian ministries 15:23 around the world. 15:26 There's radio and television, internet, literature. 15:32 All the various formats God 15:34 that You have 15:39 blessed man to invent. 15:44 Lord, Your people are everywhere. 15:47 And where I can't go, someone else can go. 15:50 Holy Spirit, please bless. 15:53 And use the different sources 15:55 of the gospel to accomplish Your will. 16:04 And, Father, here at 3ABN, 16:09 there are people 16:10 who have called in with requests. 16:12 They need to hear from You, God. 16:16 So I lift up those needs to You. 16:23 I bring before you Ray, 16:26 who has been diagnosed 16:28 with prostate cancer 16:31 and type 2 diabetes. 16:35 God grant him healing. 16:41 Dee is requesting prayer for her husband 16:44 and her children that they will all have 16:46 a closer walk with You. 16:53 God, I'm asking prayer for Darren, 16:58 and his daughter-in-law Nikki. 17:02 Nikki is donating one of her kidneys to Darren. 17:08 What a wonderful gift. 17:13 Thank You for the ways that You answer prayer, Lord. 17:21 Prayer is asked for a family, that God would step in 17:26 and heal the marriage, 17:31 and guide them in the right way 17:33 of raising their family. 17:39 For the many people who simply sense 17:43 needing You, God, in their lives. 17:51 Lord, that's a great place to be. 17:53 Not necessarily to need, but to sense that we need You. 18:04 So, Lord, I ask that You would be 18:06 near to them, God. 18:19 All that I am 18:22 All that I have 18:25 I lay them down before You, 18:29 O Lord All my regrets, 18:35 All my acclaims 18:38 The joy and the pain 18:41 I'm making them Yours 18:47 Lord, I offer my life to You 18:52 Everything I've been through 18:57 Use it for Your glory 19:01 Lord, I offer my days to You 19:06 Lifting my praise to You 19:11 As a pleasing sacrifice 19:19 Lord, I offer You my life 19:36 Things in the past 19:39 Things yet unseen 19:43 Wishes and dreams 19:44 That are yet to come true 19:49 All of my hopes 19:52 And all of my plans 19:56 My heart and my hands 19:58 Are lifted to You 20:04 Lord, I offer my life to You 20:09 Everything I've been through 20:13 Lord, use it for Your glory 20:17 Lord, I offer my days to You 20:22 Lifting my praise to You 20:27 As a pleasing sacrifice 20:35 Lord, I offer You my life 20:47 And, Lord, I offer You my thanks. 20:51 I come to You with a grateful heart, 20:55 and a thankful heart. 20:56 And I just want to lift up my voice 20:58 and praise to Your glorious name, 21:02 for all of Your goodness and loving kindness to me. 21:07 Thank You for Jesus, and for my eternal salvation. 21:11 Thank You for hearing my prayers, God. 21:14 Thank You for answering my prayers. 21:19 Thank You for my life, for all the joys. 21:25 For friends and family, for home and provision. 21:33 Not a day goes by, 21:38 that You haven't provided mercies, new mercies. 21:45 Great is Your faithfulness, oh, God, I bless Your name. 21:49 God, I thank You for the Bible. 21:55 Thank You that I'm growing in Your Word. 21:59 Thank You for the promises that are mine to claim. 22:06 Thank You that I can share Your Word with others, God. 22:15 Day to day, I see You moving in my life. 22:19 I thank You for it, God. 22:21 I praise Your name, for no matter 22:23 what comes my way. 22:26 You are there with me. 22:29 I believe that You've got ahead of me, 22:32 and are preparing the way. 22:36 And I praise Your name, 22:38 and I ask that You would just accept my thanks. 22:42 As feeble and humble as it is. 22:46 Lord, I thank You, 22:51 in Your precious name, I pray. 22:55 You know, we sometimes wonder, if our prayers are being heard. 23:06 As children of God, 23:07 one thing we can be assured of is that, 23:11 God hears us. 23:14 He cares and He answers. 23:18 So I encourage you to look back over some of your prayer lists, 23:23 or your journals, or however you document your prayer life. 23:28 And if you don't, by the way, 23:32 document your prayer life that is, 23:34 I encourage you to do so. 23:37 Because you need to be able to look back 23:40 for the needs that you've asked God to meet, 23:42 the hurts and frustrations that He has mended. 23:46 And the pain and the turmoil of, 23:49 maybe some horrible situations in your life that 23:52 He has healed you 23:54 and He has brought you through. 24:01 So you will be reminded that when we pray, God listens. 24:09 And He answers in His time, 24:13 and according to His will, 24:15 because if we'd had our way, 24:17 things would turn out differently. 24:21 You see, He may be silent, but that doesn't mean 24:24 He isn't working, friend. 24:26 So keep believing, 24:30 and keep trusting. 24:35 Keep praying, and keep waiting. 24:53 Just take a moment and thank Him for the answer 24:55 that is on the way. 25:16 Lord, I offer my life to You 25:23 Everything I've been through 25:27 Everything I'm going through 25:29 Use it for Your glory 25:33 Lord, I offer my days to You 25:39 I lift all my praise to You 25:45 As a living sacrifice 25:50 As a pleasing sacrifice 25:54 Lord, I offer You my life 26:11 Once again I encourage you to invite someone 26:15 to tune in and
