00:14 Hi.
00:15 And thank you for joining us 00:16 for day six of the Ten Days of Prayer, 00:18 a prayer plan from revivalandreformation.org. 00:22 1 Corinthians 12:4 through 7 reminds us 00:25 that there are different kinds of spiritual gifts, 00:27 but the same spirit is the source of them all. 00:30 There are different kinds of service, 00:32 but we serve the same Lord. 00:34 God works in different ways, 00:35 but it's the same God who does the work in all of us. 00:38 A spiritual gift is given to each of us 00:40 so we can help each other. 00:42 Listen to this testimony. 00:44 The phone rang in my office in Albany, Oregon. 00:47 "Is this the pastor 00:48 of the Seventh-day Adventist Church?" 00:50 A female voice asked. 00:52 "Yes, it is," I replied. 00:53 "You must come to the hospital at once. 00:55 We have a patient 00:56 who is having severe heart arrhythmias. 00:59 We're afraid she may die, 01:01 but she won't let us do anything 01:02 until the pastor from the Adventist church 01:04 prays for her. 01:05 She keeps insisting 01:07 that if the pastor from the Adventist church 01:08 prays for her, she will be healed. 01:10 Please come quickly." 01:12 While driving to the hospital, I prayed, 01:14 "Lord, I'm a little worried about this visit. 01:16 The lady keeps telling everyone 01:17 that if the pastor from the Adventist church 01:19 prays for her, she will get well. 01:21 You and I both know 01:22 that you don't always choose to heal someone. 01:25 What will those nurses and doctors say 01:26 if you don't heal this lady?" 01:29 It seemed as if the Lord was responding by saying, 01:32 "What are you fussing about?" 01:34 "I'm worried about Your reputation," I said. 01:37 "Now, let me get this straight," 01:38 the Lord seemed to say. 01:40 "You're worried about My reputation?" 01:43 "Okay," I continued. 01:44 "I realize that sounds pretty silly. 01:46 But what will the people say? 01:48 What will the lady say if you don't heal her?" 01:51 The Lord said to my heart, 01:53 "It is your responsibility to be obedient. 01:55 It is My responsibility to take care of My reputation." 02:00 "You are right," I said. 02:02 "I will trust You to do what you know is best." 02:05 At the hospital, I met four nurses 02:07 outside the patient's room. 02:09 "Are you the Adventist pastor?" One nurse asked. 02:12 "Hurry up and get in there and pray 02:13 so we can do something." 02:15 I already knew from the name the nurse had given me 02:17 that this patient wasn't a member of my church 02:20 or another nearby church even. 02:22 I wondered why she insisted on being prayed for 02:25 by an Adventist pastor. 02:27 But this was no time to start a conversation. 02:30 Her heart monitor showed an erratic heartbeat. 02:33 I knew she was in trouble. 02:34 I walked to her bedside 02:36 and took her right hand in mine. 02:38 She turned slightly, opened her eyes and asked, 02:40 "Are you the Adventist pastor?" 02:42 "Yes," I said. 02:44 "If you will pray for me, I know I will be healed," 02:46 she said. 02:48 This was not a time for a sermon or a Bible study 02:50 or on prayer for the sick. 02:52 I simply asked, 02:53 "Sister, are you willing to let Jesus decide 02:56 what happens here today?" 02:58 "Oh, yes, pastor," she said. 03:00 "But I know that if you pray for me, 03:01 I will be healed." 03:04 So I closed my eyes and I asked the Lord in heaven 03:06 to show His power and mercy for this lady. 03:09 I asked Him to glorify His name 03:11 before the nurses and the doctors in the hospital 03:13 and that this lady's healing 03:15 might be a witness for many people. 03:17 I asked the Lord to heal her if it was His will, 03:20 if it can bring Him glory, if it was for her best good. 03:25 I finished my prayer in Jesus' name and said amen. 03:29 Opening my eyes, I looked at the heart monitor, 03:31 and it showed a perfect rhythm. 03:34 The lady grasped my hand with vigor and said, 03:37 "I feel good. 03:38 I'm healed. 03:40 I knew if the Adventist pastor prayed for me, 03:43 I would get well." 03:45 I remembered how Jesus handled experiences 03:47 like this in His life. 03:49 So I said, "Sister, your faith has made you well." 03:53 I gave thanks to God and walked out of the room. 03:56 The nurse said, "May we go in now?" 03:59 I said, "Yes, but I don't think she needs you anymore." 04:02 Their eyes widened considerably and they dashed into the room. 04:06 I can't tell you what happened after that because I left. 04:09 I didn't want the nurses or the lady looking to me 04:11 as though I had healed her. 04:13 It was the gift of healing bestowed by the Holy Spirit 04:18 for the lady at that moment. 04:21 You know, 1 Corinthians 12:9 says 04:25 that there are varieties of spiritual gifts, 04:28 but it is the same spirit. 04:30 To one is given wonder-working faith 04:32 and to another the gift of healing. 04:35 The Lord has many ways to heal people 04:37 and He wants to bestow His healing power 04:39 through His people. 04:41 Isn't that amazing? 04:42 Ephesians 4:11 through 13 say, 04:46 "And He Himself gave some to be apostles, 04:50 some prophets, some evangelists, 04:52 some pastors and teachers 04:54 for the equipping of the saints, 04:55 for the work of ministry, 04:57 for the edifying of the body of Christ 04:59 till we all come to the unity of the faith 05:02 and of the knowledge of the Son of God 05:04 to a perfect man 05:05 to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ." 05:08 The Holy Spirit wants to give many gifts to His people. 05:12 And God has a gift for you too. 05:14 1 Corinthians 14:1 and 13 05:18 tell us to desire spiritual gifts 05:20 and pray that we may receive them. 05:28 So I encourage you to be open. 05:39 Take my life 05:42 And let it be consecrated, 05:48 Lord, to Thee 05:52 Take my moments and my days 05:59 And let them flow 06:02 In endless praise 06:07 Let them flow 06:09 In endless praise 06:18 Take my will and make it Thine 06:24 It shall be no longer mine 06:30 Take my heart, it is Thine own 06:37 And it shall be 06:39 Thy royal throne 06:44 It shall be Thy royal throne 07:02 Take my love, my Lord, 07:06 I pour at Thy feet 07:10 Its treasure store 07:14 Take myself and I will be 07:20 Ever only all for Thee 07:28 Ever only all for Thee 07:39 And it's my prayer for you 07:41 that you will be open 07:46 to whatever gift God has for you. 07:53 All he wants to know 07:54 is that you're available and willing. 08:01 Join with me in prayer. 08:08 Lord, here I am, 08:11 use me in Your service. 08:15 Fill me with Your Holy Spirit and equip me with Your gifts. 08:22 Jesus, I want to make a difference 08:24 for You in this world. 08:29 Lord, I'm truly not content to just sit, 08:35 sit in church. 08:42 I want Your Spirit's power working through me 08:48 through the gifts that you choose for me 08:51 so that I can defeat the power of sin 08:55 in this world, 08:59 so that I can be used for Your glory, God, 09:03 not for my glory, not for my fame, 09:07 not so that my name will be mentioned 09:10 in the order of service, 09:14 but use me, Lord. 09:17 Lord, increase our gifts by education and by training 09:22 and by experience and by prayer. 09:27 We dedicate all our talents to You and we humbly ask 09:30 that You add Your supernatural blessing 09:33 to our natural 09:36 so that the gospel may go forward with power. 09:46 Lord, we pray for schools that offer Christian education. 09:51 We pray that these schools will always teach Bible truth 09:56 and that they will lead young people 10:00 into mission and service. 10:05 Lord, I ask that You would give us wisdom 10:07 to reach secular cultures 10:09 that have no interest in religion. 10:14 Let Your Holy Spirit break down the walls 10:17 that surround secular hearts. 10:24 We pray for people groups in Asia 10:28 who don't have a Christian heritage 10:31 or Christian background. 10:37 God, give us wisdom to meet their needs. 10:46 Lord, please inspire Your people 10:48 around the world to pray as never before 10:51 for the latter rain 10:54 of the Holy Spirit. 10:58 We ask You for the promise fulfillment of Joel 2, 11:03 for the promise fulfillment of Hosea 6 and Acts 2. 11:11 And we asked, Lord, that You would show us 11:13 how to meet the practical 11:15 and spiritual needs of refugees, Lord. 11:19 May our churches be known for our love of all people 11:24 no matter who they are or where they come from. 11:37 God, I pray for the 541 people groups 11:41 in the 18 countries of Southern Africa, 11:44 Indian Ocean. 11:47 The 18 countries of Southern Africa, 11:50 Indian Ocean division. 11:53 Lord, please lead those people to Your truth. 12:05 In Ephesians 6:19 and 20, 12:09 Paul asks fellow believers to pray also for me 12:12 that whenever I open my mouth, words may be given 12:16 so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel 12:19 for which I am an ambassador in chains, 12:24 pray that I may declare it fearlessly as I should. 12:28 So I pray, God, for those 12:31 who are around this world... 12:40 ministering the Word of God 12:45 that you will put Your words in their mouth, 12:48 Father, that You will be their mouthpiece. 12:50 And, Lord, if there are those who are in chains, 12:52 God, I pray 12:54 that You will give them an audience 13:00 right where they are 13:03 that they can minister to those in chains 13:08 along with them. 13:12 Lord, thank you that You have a perfect plan. 13:16 I pray for our persecuted Christian brothers and sisters, 13:19 God, those whom You have called to the mission field 13:25 for being a Christian, comes at a greater price. 13:32 Father God, whatever their circumstances, 13:34 whatever their need, 13:38 Lord, please give them the right words to say. 13:47 God, meet their needs 13:49 according to your riches and glory. 13:52 Lord, work miracles 13:55 that would grab the attention of those 14:00 that they are ministering to. 14:10 Thank You for calling people. 14:12 Thank You for bestowing gifts on people. 14:23 I bring before You those 14:25 who have severe physical ailments, God, 14:28 those who are fighting for their lives 14:32 while the doctor is saying that there's no hope, 14:37 I ask now 14:40 that You would supply Your miracle healing. 14:50 God, I know that there is nothing impossible with You 14:55 for You are an all-powerful God. 15:24 The splendor of a King, 15:30 Clothed in majesty 15:35 Let all the world rejoice 15:38 Let all the world rejoice 15:42 He wraps Himself in light 15:49 And darkness tries to hide 15:54 And trembles at His voice 15:57 Trembles at His voice 16:01 How great is our God 16:06 Sing with me 16:07 How great is our God 16:12 And all will see 16:14 How great, 16:16 How great is our God 16:26 Age to age He stands 16:32 And time is in His hands 16:36 Beginning and the end 16:40 Beginning and the end 16:43 The Godhead, three in one 16:49 Father,
