00:13 Here we are on Day 10 of 10 Days of Prayer.
00:16 Thank you so much for joining me every day 00:18 or some of the days. 00:20 I really appreciate you being involved. 00:22 I want to thank Donald Owen for his involvement, 00:24 and JD Quinn for his. 00:27 I love what these men 00:28 who are in the pastoral department 00:30 at 3ABN, what they bring 00:32 to this time of prayer, their hearts, 00:35 it's just really encouraging and I love both of them 00:37 so dearly, I love our pastoral department. 00:40 I encourage you again to email or call 00:43 the pastoral department at 3ABN 00:45 and give them your prayer request. 00:48 But for today, we want to get right into things 00:50 and I want you to think about you may have seen 00:52 Da Vinci's famous painting the Last Supper, 00:56 it depicts the scene of serenity and intimacy 00:59 shared by Jesus and His disciples. 01:02 But I can't imagine that's really what everything 01:05 looked that like that evening. 01:07 The disciples were confused by events 01:09 that were rapidly spinning out of their control. 01:12 The week had begun with Jesus and His disciples 01:14 triumphal entry into the city of Jerusalem. 01:17 They were welcomed 01:19 in the manner of conquering heroes. 01:20 Their ambitions had been stoked by the seemingly obvious fact 01:24 that Jesus was getting ready to usher in the kingdom of God. 01:28 Who knew what kind of power the disciples would enjoy 01:31 in that administration. 01:33 But on the other hand, 01:35 Jesus kept referring to His own death. 01:38 The disciples were just baffled. 01:40 Jesus saw their preoccupation with their own importance 01:43 in the earthly kingdom. 01:45 They thought that He was about to established 01:47 and their gut wrenching fear every time he alluded 01:50 to His imminent death. 01:52 These were men living in abject denial. 01:55 Jesus had to admit to them, 01:57 I still have many things to say to you, 02:00 but you cannot bear them now. 02:02 But He did make this promise, 02:04 when the Spirit of truth has come, 02:06 He will guide you into all truth, 02:08 for He will not speak on His own authority, 02:10 but whatever He hears, He will speak 02:13 and He will tell you things to come. 02:15 In all their confusion, 02:17 Jesus offered the promise of help and clarity. 02:21 He promised the disciples the Holy Spirit 02:23 that would guide them in truth, teaching them the things 02:27 that they never could have known otherwise. 02:29 The spirit would even strengthen their hope 02:32 by showing them the future, 02:34 something that would be a big help, 02:36 given the future that they were facing. 02:39 You know, it's an amazing thing to consider 02:41 that if you are in Christ, God's Spirit dwells in you. 02:45 The same spirit by which the Bible was written, 02:48 and by which disciples performed miracles, 02:51 the same spirit who was there when the universe was formed, 02:54 is accessible to you and to me, 02:56 to give us wisdom and insight 02:59 that we can't get any other way. 03:01 That's why I encourage you, in fact, 03:03 I beg you to daily seek for the Holy Spirit. 03:09 Holy Spirit, 03:11 Rain down, 03:16 Rain down 03:21 Oh, Comforter and Friend 03:27 How we need Your touch again 03:32 Holy Spirit, rain, rain down, 03:39 Rain down 03:43 Let Your power fall Let Your voice be heard 03:49 Come and change our hearts 03:52 As we stand on Your word 03:55 Holy Spirit, 04:00 Rain down 04:09 Donald, will you pray for us? 04:12 Heavenly Father, it's been 10 days. 04:16 We just talked about the Last Supper, 04:18 where were they at? 04:20 They were in the upper room. 04:22 We have been 10 days in this upper room. 04:25 What an experience, Lord, to see You work and to move 04:28 and to gather those for this wonderful time 04:33 where we're living and when we will see 04:34 the second return of Jesus Christ, 04:36 we will be able to experience, Lord, 04:39 our prayers that we've ever prayed will be answered 04:42 when we see You face to face. 04:44 And to know, Lord, that we can put our confidence 04:46 and trust in You as Tim alluded to the fact of the Holy Spirit. 04:50 Lord, You sent us the great helper, 04:52 the comforter, to guide us along this journey. 04:56 I like what Hebrews 12 says to us. 05:00 It says in there "Wherefore seeing are compassed 05:01 by such a great cloud of witnesses, 05:04 let's lay aside every weight, and the sin 05:05 which doth so easily beset us, 05:07 and let us run with patience the race that is set before us. 05:10 Looking unto Jesus, 05:12 the author and finisher of our faith, 05:14 who for the joy endured the cross, despising the shame, 05:17 is set down at the right hand throne of God." 05:19 So thank you, Lord, we can look to You, 05:22 and You will finish what You've completed. 05:24 We thank You and ask this in Jesus' name, amen. 05:30 Zechariah 4:6 says what? 05:33 "Your planning will neither succeed 05:36 by the might of an army, nor by human strength. 05:42 Not by might, not by power, 05:44 but by My Spirit, " says the Lord. 05:48 Father, I thank You that success... 05:52 doesn't come from human efforts. 05:54 So we can't take any credit for it. 05:56 Forgive us when we do take credit. 06:00 But first, forgive me even more 06:03 when I don't allow Your Holy Spirit 06:06 to work through me, 06:09 revive me so... 06:13 I will recognize You speaking to me, 06:18 and I will act. 06:22 And I will be prepared, stay prepared, 06:24 stay with my armor... 06:29 so that I may fight... 06:32 so that I may act according to Your will, 06:36 and according to Your Holy Spirit's plea for me. 06:40 I love you, Lord, and all the words that I could say, 06:43 they're just... 06:45 They're nothing compared 06:48 to my desire to surrender to You. 06:52 So, Father, I pray that You will... 06:55 look past my stumbling tongue. 06:58 And know my heart today... 07:00 in Jesus' name. 07:02 Amen. 07:03 Heavenly Father, you know the shepherds 07:06 of Your flock right now... 07:09 thinking about the time we're living in, 07:11 and sometimes this world can just feel so overwhelming. 07:16 But it's really 07:17 the great opportunity to share Your Word 07:20 that invigorates and strengthens 07:23 your sheep fold, Lord, 07:24 and there are many shepherds right now that need 07:26 that strength and I pray for these pastors 07:28 and leaders of these churches 07:31 that, Lord, You'll give them wisdom from on high. 07:33 You anoint them with a fresh touch 07:35 of Your Holy Spirit. 07:37 And that the words that are in these pages of our Bibles, 07:39 Lord, will come to life, 07:41 not just to them personally but to those whom they lead 07:46 that many souls will hear that voice, 07:49 a good shepherd as John 10:4 says, 07:51 "Sheep know the shepherd by His voice." 07:53 In verse 5, "A stranger's voice, 07:55 they will not follow." 07:56 We thank You, Lord, we ask this in Jesus' name. 07:58 Amen. 08:03 Father, I thank You that You put us in workplaces, 08:10 that we can be a light. 08:15 Lord, like myself, some of us have 08:19 the privilege of working in a Christian atmosphere. 08:25 And that's nice, 08:28 but it's also we're highly accountable 08:32 to each other and we sometimes, 08:37 we're still even though it's a Christian atmosphere, 08:39 we are still human. 08:42 And, God, what I'm praying is that for workers, 08:48 for the employed, for everyone who has a job, 08:53 Lord, that You will help us to be light and salt. 08:58 And that You will give us wisdom to lead others 09:03 to You to live in such a manner that... 09:08 our co-workers would see a difference in us... 09:12 and they would want what we have. 09:15 Father, I again, thank you for Donald 09:17 for his knowledge of Your Word. 09:22 And I just pray God that You would use him, 09:24 that You would open a door for him 09:27 and give him the opportunities, Lord, 09:30 to use what You have given him. 09:35 And I pray that for our viewers, Lord, 09:37 for those who are seeking an appointment, 09:39 they're just waiting for You to put them in coach. 09:42 That's what they're saying, put me in coach. 09:45 I pray God that You would continue to prepare them 09:49 for work that You have. 09:51 Lord, I feel like it's time 09:54 that we all get ready to work, 09:59 if we're not already working. 10:01 God, use us for Your glory, in Jesus' name. 10:07 Thank You, Lord, for that word accountability 10:09 that Tim just shared. 10:10 And I just think of so many precious souls 10:13 who are falling into these deep pits of darkness, 10:17 the enemy's pulling them in. 10:19 But Your Word tells us that iron sharpens iron. 10:23 So it is the man that sharpens the comments of his friend 10:28 so, Lord, we can sharpen the council of our friend, 10:30 as we gathered together, 10:32 we're talking about this gathering. 10:34 And there's so many souls who are lost 10:35 in this web of lust and pornography addiction 10:38 and a lot of brokenness, 10:41 a lot of broken marriages, a lot of broken families 10:43 because of this evil plight of sin. 10:47 Lord, we just ask that those who are like, I guess, 10:51 Joseph's, Lord, they'll stand up. 10:53 How can I do this thing and sin against My God 10:55 and they will lead brothers and sisters, 10:58 I'm thinking of 1 John 3:3, it says that, 11:01 "To purify himself, even as you Jesus are pure, 11:03 we're to purify ourselves." 11:05 I just pray, Lord, as individuals struggling 11:07 with these particular sins will allow you to purge 11:10 and to purify them as Psalm 51 says, 11:14 "Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean, 11:17 Wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow." 11:19 David wanted it, he desired, 11:21 I just pray for those that they will want it 11:22 and desire as well. 11:24 And we can get into that kingdom one day, Lord, 11:26 and don't have to worry about all this chaos, and craziness, 11:29 and this darkness in this world. 11:31 We thank You and ask this in Jesus' name. 11:33 Amen. 11:36 Lord, I ask that You would empower our children 11:39 to stand boldly for You, 11:41 especially when they encounter obstacles and pressure. 11:48 Father God, I pray that You would help parents to lead 11:52 and give wise counsel to raise their children 11:57 with wisdom and with love. 12:00 So that the children can make wise choices 12:02 when they are faced with difficult decisions. 12:08 Lord, teach us all to follow Your selfless example 12:15 by meeting the needs of others around us. 12:19 Lord, we know we have plenty opportunity 12:22 to be Your hands and feet. 12:26 So, Father, I just ask in Jesus' name 12:30 that we would see those opportunities 12:32 and seize them and be all we can be. 12:36 Amen. 12:38 Heavenly Father, I'm praying for those 12:40 that came in my mind 12:41 that maybe thinking about bullying somebody else 12:43 and maybe hurting or abusing somebody because 12:47 really deep down they're really hurt. 12:49 Lord, I just ask that You'll... 12:51 send somebody to touch their hearts. 12:53 And help them, Lord, to say I don't have to suffer anymore. 12:56 They can cry out to You and You'll come and help them. 13:01 I just think of all the young people, 13:02 Lord, in this media, and Facebook 13:05 and all this Tik Tok and all these different things. 13:08 Lord, that so many kids can use 13:09 as a platform to hurt one another. 13:12 I just pray that You'll soften their hearts to see 13:16 that there's more to life than pain and cruelty, 13:19 there's a life of love, and peace, and of gentleness, 13:22 and it only comes from knowing You. 13:24 We thank You, Lord, we ask this in Jesus' name. 13:26 Amen. 13:29 I can't thank you enough for joining us 13:31 for being a part of this wonderful 13:33 10 Days of Prayer. 13:36 Wow! Thank you so much. 13:37 Keep praying, keep trusting, 13:40 keep letting the Holy Spirit to control you. 13:43 In Jesus' name, amen. |
