00:18 Ecclesiastes 12:13 "Now all has been heard
00:23 and here is the conclusion of the matter." 00:28 This is it, 00:31 this is the bottom line of everything, watch. 00:37 "Fear God and keep his commandments, 00:42 for this is the whole duty of man. 00:46 For God will bring every deed into judgment, 00:49 including every hidden thing, whether it is good or evil." 00:54 You know the most intense part of any trial 01:00 comes when the jury return, the foreman hands 01:03 the envelop to the judge and the verdict is read. 01:08 In those moments before the verdict is read 01:11 you can hear a pin drop in the courthouse, 01:15 not a sound, 01:16 everyone is waiting to hear the outcome of the judgment 01:22 and once the verdict is read, 01:24 half of the courthouse is going to rejoice 01:27 because justice has been served 01:29 and the other half will sit in disbelief, 01:32 believing that an innocent man is going free. 01:36 And the only person in the courthouse 01:38 who really knows the truth is the one who is on trial. 01:46 I don't know if you ever thought about this way 01:48 but what would it be like to face a written transcript 01:53 of everything you have ever done. 01:56 Of every word you've ever spoken, 02:00 of every thought that's ever entered your head, 02:02 what would it be like? 02:05 You say, well, I'm glad I don't have to do that, 02:07 bad news you do. 02:11 May be I should say, good news you do. 02:14 You say, why is that good news pastor. 02:16 Hold on since we look at the great judgment day. 02:20 The bottom line, "Fear God and keep his commandments, 02:24 for this is the whole duty of man. 02:26 God will bring every deed into judgment, 02:29 every little thing whether it's good or evil, 02:32 every hidden thing." 02:33 God knows every word, every thought 02:35 that you have ever thought, 02:36 God knows he brings it into judgment 02:41 and that's good news? 02:45 That's good news. 02:49 So Christians are going to be judged 02:56 all said in 2 Corinthians 5:10 we must all appear 03:00 before the judgment seat of Christ, 03:03 that's all of us. 03:05 In fact in a remarkable verse James 2:10, 03:11 "Whoever keeps the whole law 03:12 yet stumbles at just one point 03:14 is guilty of breaking all of it." 03:15 Now he is speaking of the Ten Commandments, 03:17 the law that says you shall not murder 03:19 and you shall not commit adultery. 03:21 He is speaking of the Ten Commandments 03:22 if you break one, 03:23 then you are guilty of breaking the whole thing 03:27 and then he makes this remarkable statement 03:30 in verse 12, "Speak and act 03:33 as those who are going to be judged by the law." 03:41 So James follow me, 03:44 James writing to the church is looking ahead into the future 03:51 and he says I want you to speak and act 03:55 as those who are going to be judged 04:01 at sometime in the future, you are going to be judged 04:05 and the standard of that judgment is the law of God. 04:11 Now that's a remarkable verse. 04:15 It's not as though God is standing up there in heaven 04:20 with those Ten Commandments waiting to judge you 04:23 and if you just get one thing wrong smash. 04:26 He smashes you between the tables of stone 04:29 and rubs you up. 04:30 That isn't what it's about. 04:35 God created us to live a certain way 04:38 that will bring peace and joy and happiness 04:40 to ourselves and others. 04:44 Who trust Him enough to live their lives 04:47 according to the way He made us, 04:49 because those are the only ones 04:50 He would dare to bring in 04:53 to the new heaven and the new earth. 04:56 He is not going to let sin rise up again, 04:58 that's the purpose of the judgment. 05:01 So James is looking forward, don't miss this, 05:05 James is looking forward to the time 05:08 when the church will be judged by the law. 05:15 But in Revelation 14, 05:18 in Revelation the 14th Chapter look Revelation 14:6, 05:26 "I saw another angel flying in the midair, 05:28 he had the eternal gospel 05:30 to proclaim to those who live on the earth 05:32 to every nation, tribe, language and people." 05:35 And he said in a loud voice, "Fear God and give him glory, 05:39 there it is, fear God and give him glory, 05:42 because the hour of his judgment has come." 05:46 Now follow me closely. 05:48 James was looking forward to the time 05:51 when the church would be judged 05:53 and the standard of that judgment 05:55 would be the law of God. 05:57 He was looking ahead into the future, 06:00 and now John sees the time 06:02 when the gospel is being preached to the whole word 06:05 but he says the hour of God's judgment has come, 06:10 it's already come. 06:12 It's already begun, 06:13 so something had to have happened between the time 06:16 when James wrote his letter to the church 06:19 and the point in the future that John saw would come 06:23 just before the end of the world, 06:25 before Jesus comes 06:26 when the hour of God's judgment has already come. 06:30 Somewhere in between God's judgment must have begun 06:34 and I'm going to show you 06:35 that judgment is going on right now. 06:41 In order for any one to save, "Fear God and give him glory, 06:45 because the hour of his judgment has come." 06:48 He would have to know when the judgment begins. 06:55 And God has made that crystal clear for us. 06:58 I want you to go back in your Bibles to Daniel, 07:01 Daniel 7, we are going to cover a lot of Bible. 07:04 This is a huge thing we are going to go deep, 07:07 so no room for sleeping not even five minutes. 07:11 We are going to go deep into the scripture 07:13 in Daniel 7. This is review. 07:17 Daniel saw a vision 07:19 and remember he saw four beast 07:21 coming up out of the sea, the first one a lion, 07:23 the second one a bear, third one a leopard, 07:25 the fourth one terrifying and frightening, 07:27 he had ten horns, 07:28 among the ten came a little horn, 07:30 the little horn uprooted three. 07:33 Now we have already identified this, 07:35 we have already learned 07:36 that the first one the lion was Babylon 605 BC 07:40 and then the bear Medo-Persia, 538 overthrew Babylon 07:45 and then in 331 07:46 the leopard overthrew the Medes and the Persians 07:48 that's the kingdom of Greece 07:50 and then we saw already that Rome in 169 07:53 the Roman Empire overthrew the Greek empire, 07:56 that's the fourth beast terrifying and frightening. 07:59 By the year 476 08:01 Rome was divided into the ten horns on that beast 08:04 and then by 538 that little horn appeared 08:10 and he was given power to persecute the saints of God 08:13 for time times and half a time, 08:15 1260 years until 1798. 08:19 I want you to see what's happening. 08:21 We saw that 605 and we are building a historical platform, 08:26 so that we can know that our interpretation 08:30 is based solidly in the word of God 08:32 and solidly been unfolding as we look back in history, 08:36 exactly the way the Bible said it was. 08:39 Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece, Rome. 08:42 Rome was divided just the way the Bible said it would be. 08:45 The little horn did appear, he did uproot the three. 08:48 He did try to change God's set times and laws. 08:51 He did the things the Bible said he would do, 08:54 and he endured for 1260 years 08:57 till the deadly wound came in 1798. 09:01 There's where we are in the flow of time. 09:06 It's not that long ago. 09:08 Now watch, what happens next. 09:12 As I looked while this little horn is doing his thing. 09:16 "As I looked, "thrones were set in place, 09:20 and the Ancient of Days took his seat." 09:22 That's God the Father. 09:26 And verse 10, the last half of the verse, 09:29 "The court was seated, and the books were opened." 09:36 The next thing after little horn, 09:37 Daniel describes the Father 09:39 the Ancient of Days takes his seat, 09:42 he sits on the throne the court is seated, 09:44 and the books are opened, that's the judgment day. 09:51 Something else happens, verse 13, 09:53 "In my vision at night I looked, 09:55 and there before me was one like a son of man 09:58 coming with the clouds of heaven. 10:00 Who is that? That's Jesus. 10:04 He is coming in the clouds. 10:05 We learned last night that when Jesus comes for us, 10:08 He is going to come in the clouds of glory. 10:10 Now, we see Him coming in the clouds 10:13 but don't get caught here, be careful. 10:17 He is coming in the clouds of heaven 10:19 and He approached the Ancient of Days 10:22 and was led into his presence." 10:24 So this isn't describing the second coming of Jesus 10:28 when He comes for us, this describes the time 10:31 when Jesus comes into the presence of the Father. 10:35 The Ancient of Days who was sitting on the throne 10:38 during the great judgment day. 10:41 What's Jesus doing there? 10:43 Wow, that's what we're coming to look for. 10:47 And then comes the interpretation of the dream. 10:55 An angel says, the four great beasts are four kingdoms, 10:58 we already know that in verse 17. 11:00 In verse 20, "Daniel said, 11:02 I want to know about the ten horns 11:03 and that other horn, the little one that came up, 11:06 and then he sees that little horn 11:08 persecuting God's people." 11:09 Verse 21 "As I watched, this little horn was waging war 11:13 against the saints of God and defeating them." 11:16 So you see where we are in the flow, 11:18 we are looking forward to the time up, 11:20 up until 1798, the deadly wound was inflicted, 11:24 the little horn making war against God's people 11:27 and defeating them 11:28 until, verse 22, "Until the Ancient of Days came 11:32 and pronounced judgment in favor of the saints, 11:36 that's good news, should get a few more amens on that. 11:40 He pronounces judgments in favor of the saints, 11:42 so it is the court seated in judgment 11:46 that finally condemns and dooms the little horn 11:50 and pronounces judgment in favor of the saints 11:53 and against the little horn. 12:02 Don't miss this. 12:06 He pronounced His judgment in favor of the saint. 12:10 That means that the saints and the little horn 12:15 must have both been being judged. 12:21 You don't pronounce judgment 12:23 in favor of someone that's not being judged. 12:31 Today there are lot of cases all over the country. 12:35 Jury trials and verdicts announced 12:38 and not one of those judges said, 12:40 Jac Colon not guilty. 12:45 Why not? 12:47 Because I wasn't on trial, 12:50 the only time a judgment is pronounced 12:52 in favor of someone 12:53 is if that person is being judged, 12:56 if that person is on trail. 12:57 Well the fact that-- 12:59 that God pronounced His judgment 13:01 in favor of the saints means 13:03 that the saints are being judged, 13:06 but praise God the verdict is good not guilty, 13:11 that's the good news about the judgment, 13:13 that's why I said the judgment is good news for us. 13:16 Why is it good news? 13:18 Because Jesus Christ is standing right there 13:21 in front of the Ancient of Days, 13:22 He is your attorney and He has never lost the case. 13:27 You don't have to be afraid of the judgment, 13:29 but the little horn does. 13:32 "The Ancient of Days came and pronounced judgment 13:33 in favor of the saints of the Most High, 13:36 and the time came when they possessed the kingdom." 13:39 What happened to the little horn? 13:41 Verse 26, "The court will sit, 13:43 and his power will be taken away 13:45 and completely destroyed forever." 13:50 You know, like I said before 13:52 when you cut the head of a snake, 13:53 his tail flopped around 13:55 because the tail doesn't know he is dead yet 13:58 and our sinful nature is put to death 14:00 but every once in a while 14:01 he keeps trying to stick his head up 14:03 and we got to keep putting it. 14:04 That's why Paul said I died daily. 14:07 But the time is coming in the judgment 14:10 when the little horn will be taken away 14:13 and completely destroyed for ever. 14:15 No more tail flopping around. 14:19 He is done, he is finished forever. 14:23 "And then the sovereignty, power 14:24 and greatness of the kingdoms under the whole heaven 14:27 will be handed over to the saints, 14:29 the people of the Most High. 14:31 And His kingdom will be an everlasting kingdom, 14:34 and all rulers will worship and obey him." 14:40 That's the good news about the judgment. 14:44 Saints are being tried, 14:46 the little horn's being tried, why? 14:48 Because they both claim to be the people of God. 14:55 And it's the judgment that finally reveals 14:58 the little horn for what he is, 15:02 and the saints for what they are 15:07 and it's the law, 15:09 it's the standard of the judgment. 15:12 Remember the old, 15:13 some of you can remember the old television game show 15:17 "To tell the truth." You remember that? 15:20 But for those of you who don't remember 15:22 there was a panel of celebrities 15:23 and then there were three people 15:25 all claiming to be John Smith 15:27 and the celebrities would ask 15:29 John Smiths all kinds of different questions 15:33 and once they finished asking that questions, 15:35 they had to guess who the real John Smith was. 15:39 And so they would go through there 15:41 and ask their question and do all these checking 15:43 and investigating and who is who. 15:46 And finally at the end, 15:47 the high point came when the narrator said, 15:51 now will the real John Smith stand up 15:56 and John Smith stands up 15:58 and everybody knows who the real John Smith is. 16:03 You see in the end time we have the saints of God 16:06 and they're wanting to be obedient to God 16:08 because they trust Him. 16:10 They want to live their lives the way He made us. 16:12 But then there is a little horn, they don't trust God, 16:15 they put traditions of man in place of God 16:18 and they start beating up on the saints 16:20 claiming to be the saints of God 16:22 and wanting to get them out of the way 16:24 and the judgment is 16:25 now will the real saints of God stand up. 16:32 And this is the law 16:35 that reveals the true saints of God. 16:41 That's the purpose of the judgment. 16:44 Now notice that the judgment comes 16:48 sometime after this little horn 538 till 1798. 16:55 Now that's getting pretty close to our time, isn't it? 17:00 But it still doesn't tell us when the judgment is, 17:04 when does the judgment take place. 17:06 In order for anyone to be able to preach 17:08 the message of the three angels 17:09 in Revelation 14, they have to be able to see 17:12 not only the everlasting gospel, not only that, 17:15 but they also have to be able to see 17:16 the hour of God's judgment has come. 17:19 How can they know exactly when it began, 17:22 because it's the only way they can say 17:24 the hour of His judgment has come, 17:26 but we are close. 17:27 We are getting close 17:29 but the Bible makes it even closer 17:33 and that's why God gave us the 8 chapter of Daniel. 17:35 In Daniel 8 this time he sees a ram in verse 3 17:39 and a goat in verse 5. 17:41 And the goat comes charging towards that ram 17:43 and he tramples that ram down into the dirt. 17:49 Then the goat has a big horn, 17:50 the first king Alexander the great, 17:52 remember snapped off at the peak of his power, 17:54 four little horns went up in his place 17:56 and the goat himself out of the-- 18:00 out of the four winds of heaven the Bible says, 18:03 the four horns went out to the four winds of heaven, 18:05 and out of one of them, out of one of the hour winds 18:07 comes the fourth beast that Roman beast, 18:13 then the little horn. 18:14 And he is talking about the little horn. 18:19 In verse 9, he says, 18:21 "Out of one of them came another horn, 18:23 started small but it grew in power 18:26 and it grew until it reached the host of heaven." 18:29 Verse 11, "He set himself up 18:30 to be as great as the Prince of the host, 18:32 he put himself in Jesus' place." 18:35 We've already talked about this, haven't we? 18:39 And he took away the daily sacrifice from him 18:42 and the place of his sanctuary was brought low 18:46 and because of the rebellion, the host of the saints 18:49 and the daily sacrifice were given over to it. 18:52 He prospered in all that he did, 18:54 and truth was thrown down to the ground. 18:58 That's the little horn. 19:00 The little horn was condemned in the judgment 19:03 because he did three things. 19:06 The Bible tells us in Chapter 7:25, 19:10 He blasphemed God. 19:13 He tried to change the set times and the laws 19:17 and he persecuted the saints of God, 19:19 He was condemned. 19:20 Now in Chapter 8 we see the same thing, 19:23 he puts himself up equal to the prince of host, 19:26 that's blaspheming God. 19:28 He took away the daily sacrifice. 19:30 What does that mean? 19:32 And the place of his sanctuary was brought low 19:35 and truth was trampled down to the ground. 19:38 He tried to change God set times and laws, 19:41 therefore truth is trampled down to the ground. 19:46 But how does he bring the place of God sanctuary down. 19:52 That's an interesting question, and hang on to that one. 19:56 File it away because we are going to be coming back. 20:00 Now watch. 20:01 The little horn is doing his dirty work truth cast down, 20:06 trampling on the saints of God, persecuting them 20:12 and the question is asked in verse 13, 20:14 how long will it take for the vision to be fulfilled, 20:19 the vision concerning the sacrifice, 20:21 the rebellion, the surrender of the sanctuary 20:24 and the host that will be trampled underfoot? 20:26 Think about it. 20:27 That question is almost asking 20:30 how long will it take until the end of the world? 20:34 How long you are going to let this guy 20:36 trample God's people. 20:39 And here is the answer. 20:42 Verse 14, "After 2300 evenings and mornings 20:46 then the sanctuary will be reconsecrated or restored." 20:52 Or as the King James says, it would be cleansed. 20:57 Now we have a time element, 21:02 but before we get to the time element 2300 days, 21:07 there is some other things we need to see. 21:10 In Daniel 7 there was Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece, Rome, 21:15 Rome divided, the little horn ascended to put himself-- 21:19 try to put himself equal to God, 21:21 and he is persecuting the saints 21:23 and it was the judgment 21:24 that brought the little horn to his end in Daniel 7. 21:28 Keep that in mind because in Daniel 8 21:31 we discover Medo-Persia, Greece, Rome, 21:34 the little horn again 21:36 and this time the little horn persecuting the saints of God 21:39 but it is the restoring of the sanctuary 21:43 that brings the little horn to his end. 21:46 Are you following me? 21:47 In Daniel 7 what brings the little horn to his end? 21:50 The judgment. 21:52 In Daniel 8, what brings the little horn to his end? 21:55 The restoring of the sanctuary, 21:58 so that tells us that the judgment 22:01 and the restoring of the sanctuary 22:03 are two different ways of looking at the same event. 22:08 The judgment clarifies for us 22:11 what it is that brings the little horn to the end, 22:14 the judgment according to the law, 22:16 that's what brings him to his end, 22:20 but it's the restoring of the sanctuary after 2300 days 22:25 that tells us more about the timing of that event. 22:30 And that's what we want to look at. 22:32 After 2300 evenings and mornings, 22:36 then the sanctuary would be reconsecrated or restored 22:41 and the restoring of the sanctuary re-consecrating 22:44 or cleansing of the sanctuary 22:46 is the same event as the judgment. 22:50 So we are going to take a look at the relationship 22:52 between the sanctuary and the judgment. 22:56 But first of all watch what Daniel did? 23:01 He was puzzled. 23:02 He said he didn't understand this vision, 23:04 so the angel came to explain it to him. 23:07 And in verse 17 it says that he was terrified, 23:10 he fell to the ground, 23:12 but the angel said understand 23:14 that the vision concerns the time of the end. 23:17 Now, we know that the time of the end, 23:19 the last days began when Jesus came. 23:23 We are living in the time of the end. 23:25 We are living and have been living in the last days. 23:27 That's why the Book of Hebrews 23:30 begins with the words in these last days 23:32 God has spoken to us through His Son. 23:35 So the last days, 23:36 the time of the end is New Testament time, 23:39 so that vision concerns the New Testament time. 23:42 Verse 19, "I am going to tell you 23:44 what will happen later he said at the time of wrath, 23:47 because the vision concerns the appointed time of the end." 23:50 So the angel is saying Daniel listen don't be so concerned, 23:54 this vision concerns a special appointed time of the end 23:59 that God, only God has in mind and knows. 24:03 And then he tells us again in verse 26 24:08 "Seal up the vision, it concerns the distant future." 24:12 It doesn't apply to you right now, 24:14 this restoring of the sanctuary 24:16 because Daniel was looking from Babylon to Jerusalem 24:21 and he knew the sanctuary is in ruins 24:23 and that's what he was worried about, 24:25 but the angel says look Daniel, 24:26 seal it up, it doesn't apply to you, 24:28 it doesn't apply to your people, 24:29 it's the distant future, 24:31 it doesn't even apply to that sanctuary 24:33 that's in ruins right now. 24:37 But what does it apply to? 24:40 It applies to the New Testament sanctuary, 24:44 to the New Testament Mount Zion, 24:48 to the New Testament sanctuary that is in heaven. 24:54 You may say, well, I've never heard 24:55 about a sanctuary in heaven, 24:58 that's why we need to take a minute 25:00 to go back to Hebrews, 25:02 the New Testament now in Hebrews 8. 25:06 In Hebrews 8 because remember, 25:09 it's the restoring of the sanctuary 25:12 that is the same as the judgment 25:15 and it's only when we see the relationship of the two 25:17 that we can understand the judgment, 25:19 the restoring of the sanctuary 25:20 and the timing of this whole prophecy, 25:23 so hold down and let's go to Hebrews 8:1. 25:27 The point of what we are saying is this, 25:30 this is powerful stuff. 25:31 And I know it's a little bit deep, 25:34 but when you get it, you are going to go wow. 25:36 You may even say amen. Already you're seeing. 25:41 Look verse 1 "We do have such a high priest, 25:45 who sat down at the right hand 25:47 of the throne of the Majesty in heaven. 25:51 And who serves in the sanctuary, 25:54 the true sanctuary set up by the Lord and not by man." 25:58 Now man built the sanctuary on earth, 26:01 but we have a high priest who serves in the sanctuary 26:05 in heaven built by God, not man. Watch this. 26:08 Verse 5, he is speaking about the priest 26:11 who offer their sacrifices in that sanctuary on earth. 26:15 He says, "They serve at a sanctuary that is a copy 26:18 and a shadow of what is in heaven." 26:21 So there is something in heaven 26:24 that the sanctuary on earth with all of its sacrifices 26:27 was a copy and a shadow of. 26:30 That's why Moses was warned 26:34 when he was about to build a tabernacle, 26:36 see to it that you make everything 26:37 according to the pattern shown you on the mountain. 26:42 So when Moses went up on top of Mount Sinai 26:45 with the two tables of stone and handed them up to God 26:49 and God wrote His law with His own fingers 26:51 and handed them back down to Moses, 26:53 God showed Moses something else. 26:57 God showed Moses a sanctuary in heaven 27:01 which was to be the pattern 27:03 for the one that he built on earth. 27:06 Did you hear this? Let me read it again. 27:09 That's why Moses was warned see to it 27:11 you make everything according to the pattern 27:13 shown you on the mountain. 27:15 So Moses saw a sanctuary in heaven 27:19 and patterned the one on earth after what he saw in heaven. 27:23 Are you with me on this? 27:25 That means that there must be a sanctuary in heaven 27:29 and that's the one that Daniel was talking about in his vision 27:34 when he said the vision is for the last days, 27:36 it's for the end time. 27:38 It's for the time of the end, it doesn't pertain to you 27:40 but the appointed time, it's the sanctuary in heaven, 27:43 could not be a sanctuary on earth, 27:46 because the sanctuary on earth was destroyed in AD 70. 27:51 So it must be talking about the sanctuary in heaven, 27:54 but what could be in the heaven 27:56 that would need to be restored, a cleansed. 28:00 Hold on, we are coming, 28:03 we are just not quite there yet. 28:05 We need to understand 28:06 a little more about the sanctuary. 28:08 In fact in Hebrews 4:16, 28:13 "Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, 28:16 so that we can receive mercy 28:19 and find grace to help us in the time of need." 28:22 Jesus is our high priest in the sanctuary in heaven. 28:26 You do not need to go to any man 28:29 to confess your sins, you go directly to Jesus, 28:33 He is on the throne of grace, you confess your sins to Him, 28:36 you go boldly to the throne of grace 28:39 confessing to Jesus Christ. 28:40 No man on earth, we confess directly to Jesus. 28:44 So any system of worship that puts a man in the temple 28:49 claiming to have the authority to forgive sins 28:51 is a counterfeit to our high priest 28:54 Jesus Christ in the temple in heaven. 28:57 He has the authority to forgive sins. 29:00 And salvation comes when we approach Jesus 29:04 who is in His sanctuary ministering to us 29:10 by virtue of the blood 29:11 He shed on the cross for our sins. 29:15 Not with the blood of goats and animals and sheep, 29:18 but with His own blood. 29:20 He is our high priest 29:23 and He is in heaven in the sanctuary up there 29:27 ministering for you down here, that's good news for us. 29:31 Chapter 9:1, it says, 29:34 "Now the first covenant 29:36 that's the Old Testament had regulations for worship 29:40 and an earthly sanctuary." 29:43 We already know about that. 29:45 First covenant had an earthly sanctuary and regulations. 29:49 He describes that sanctuary. 29:51 In it he says was the Ark of the Covenant 29:55 and the stone tablets of the covenant. 29:57 The Ten Commandment law was inside 29:59 the Ark of the Covenant. 30:02 You say, but we don't have time 30:04 to discuss these things in detail now, 30:06 its just a lot there and may be that would be 30:08 a good subject for another Revelation Now 30:11 part two seminar... 30:15 someday. 30:19 The first covenant had priests, 30:23 earthly priests offering sacrifices 30:27 and everyday they offer sacrifices 30:30 for the sins of the people 30:31 and every day people receive forgiveness for their sins. 30:34 Not because of the lamb that they sacrifice, 30:36 but because of the Lamb of God 30:38 do not sacrifice pointed forward to. 30:41 And this happen day after day 30:43 and the priest would sprinkle that blood in the sanctuary 30:46 and in fact into the actual presence of God. 30:48 It's just enough to see the priest 30:50 sprinkle that blood everyday, they receive forgiveness, 30:53 they go to the saints they received forgiveness. 30:55 They were forgiven for their sins. 30:57 It was done then, what? 31:01 Once a year on the Day of Atonement 31:03 came a day of reckoning and that was a serious time. 31:08 It was a time when the priest would cleanse 31:10 the holiest place in the sanctuary. 31:13 And they would fast and they would pray 31:15 and put away every sin from their hearts 31:19 asking God to search their hearts 31:22 and those who didn't were separated from the camp. 31:27 They were done. 31:30 It's a day of judgment, day of reckoning, 31:34 once a year, every day they were forgiven. 31:38 Once a year came a day of reckoning. 31:40 Who was it that really trusted God? 31:49 Now, an interesting thing in verse 8 of chapter 9, 31:54 it said "As long as this 31:57 earthly sanctuary was still standing." 32:00 Verse 9 " It is an illustration for the present time, 32:05 so the earthly sanctuary 32:08 is an illustration for the present time. 32:10 We cannot see Jesus, our high priest in heaven. 32:14 You can't see Him. 32:17 what's He doing up there? 32:19 We study the earthly sanctuary 32:21 and it illustrates for us what he is doing up there now. 32:27 Oh, this is powerful stuff. 32:30 It's an illustration for the present time, 32:33 because he went through 32:35 a greater more perfect tabernacle 32:37 in verse 11 and the heavenly one. 32:38 Look at verse 12, 32:40 "He did not enter by the means 32:41 of the blood of goats and calves 32:42 but he entered the Most Holy Place 32:45 once for all with His own blood. 32:48 So He didn't have to offer sacrifices every day. 32:51 Look, verse 23, 32:53 "It was necessary for the copy of the heavenly things 32:56 that earthly sanctuary to be purified with these sacrifices, 33:00 that's the blood of goats and cows and animals, 33:03 but the heavenly things themselves 33:04 with something better. 33:08 I want you to notice something, 33:09 I think it's often overlooked by most people. 33:12 Verse 23 says, "It was necessary 33:15 for the copy of the heavenly things 33:16 that's the earthly sanctuary 33:18 to be purified with these sacrifices, 33:21 the animal sacrifices, 33:23 the earthly sanctuary to be purified 33:25 with the animal sacrifices. 33:26 Are you with me? Okay, watch. 33:30 But the heavenly things themselves 33:32 with better sacrifices than these. 33:37 So there must be something in the heavenly sanctuary 33:41 that has to be purified 33:44 because it has to be purified by the blood of Jesus 33:48 and this is what has puzzled scholars 33:49 ever since it was written. 33:51 What could possibly be in heaven that needs to be purified? 33:58 And now we're beginning to see 33:59 the intimate relationship between the judgment 34:03 and restoring or purifying of the sanctuary. 34:08 I want you to follow me. 34:10 He entered heaven itself Jesus now to appear for us. 34:17 One question, how does the little horn 34:20 trample God sanctuary 34:22 and take away the daily sacrifice? 34:27 How did the church do that? 34:32 In the mass, now you understand 34:34 the mass is not just the worship service, 34:38 it's more than that. 34:39 In the mass the church believes 34:41 that when the priest prays a special prayer, 34:43 he actually changes the bread into the real body of Christ 34:49 and the priest actually changes the wine 34:52 into the real blood of Christ. 34:54 So that in the mass, 34:55 the priest is actually offering Christ 34:59 as an offering as a sacrifice over and over again. 35:04 Now, let me read this to you. 35:06 The power of the priest 35:07 and this is from 'The Faith of Millions' by Rev. 35:10 John O'Brien a book written 35:12 to try to persuade Protestants 35:14 to become a part of the Catholic faith. 35:17 He says the power of the priest is not surpassed by anyone 35:22 because it is equal to that of Jesus Christ, 35:26 because in this role the mass, 35:28 the priest speaks with the voice 35:30 and the authority of God Himself. 35:33 He reaches up into heaven 35:34 and brings Christ down from His throne 35:38 and places Him upon our altar 35:40 to be offered again for sins of man, 35:43 not once but a thousand times, 35:46 The priest speaks and lo Christ, 35:48 the eternal and omnipotent God, 35:50 bows His head in humble obedience 35:52 to the priest's command. 35:55 No wonder the name which spiritual writers 35:57 are especially fond of applying to the priest 36:00 is that of Latin, alter Christus, 36:03 because the priest is and should be another Christ. 36:09 So you see the mass is the re-sacrificing of Jesus 36:12 over and over and over again. 36:16 In fact one said that the priest 36:18 even becomes the creator of his creator 36:21 when he changes the bread 36:22 and the wine into the blood and the body of Christ 36:25 and sacrifices Him again. 36:28 No wonder he thinks he has the authority 36:31 to change God's set times, 36:34 the Sabbath as a reminder 36:35 that God is the Creator of the heavens and the earth. 36:45 But the Bible says 36:48 in Hebrews 9:26, 36:53 "But now he has appeared once 36:56 at the end of the ages to do away with sin 37:00 by the sacrifice of himself." 37:03 One time is enough, amen. 37:11 But how-- that's how he takes away 37:13 the effectiveness of the daily. 37:16 It's not enough by faith to pray for God to forgive you, 37:19 you have to sacrifice Him again over and over at the mass. 37:24 But how does he trample God's sanctuary in heaven? 37:29 Watch, verse 26 of Hebrews 10, 37:35 "If we deliberately keep on sinning 37:37 after we have received the knowledge of the truth, 37:40 there is no sacrifice for sins left, 37:44 only a fearful expectation of judgment." 37:49 So if we deliberately reject God's truth 37:54 and God's commands, there is no sacrifice, 37:58 no sacrifice for a willful presumptuous sin. 38:03 Now he is not talking about weakness, 38:06 he is not talking about striving to do your best 38:09 and falling short and asking God 38:11 to forgive you and help you to do better. 38:13 No, that's not what he is talking about. 38:16 He is talking about willful presumptuous God, 38:19 I know what you want, but I think I know better, 38:22 this is what I am going to do. 38:26 I will show you how it works in a minute. 38:29 So watch, no sacrifice for sin, 38:31 willful presumptuous sin. 38:33 "How much more severely 38:35 do you think a man deserves to be punished 38:37 who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, 38:41 the Lord will judge his people." 38:44 So willful presumptuous sin 38:47 is trampling Jesus Christ underfoot. 38:52 And He is our high priest ministering the sacrifice 38:57 that He gave for us once for all 38:59 from the sanctuary in heaven. 39:01 Willful presumptuous sin 39:04 is to trample the sanctuary underfoot 39:08 because that's where Jesus is. 39:11 Are you following me? 39:15 Now watch. 39:18 What does all of this have to do with the judgment? 39:22 In verse 23, it was necessary on chapter 9 39:25 Hebrews 9:23 again, 39:28 "It was necessary for the copies of the heavenly things 39:30 the earthly to be purified with these sacrifices, 39:33 animal sacrifices, 39:35 but the heavenly things themselves 39:36 with better sacrifices than these." 39:40 Jesus entered heaven itself 39:41 now to appear for us in God's presence. 39:44 So Jesus remember on the clouds of glory 39:47 appeared in the presence of the Ancient of Days 39:51 as the court sat 39:52 and the books were opened for judgment, 39:54 Jesus is your attorney in the judgment. 39:57 He was going there to stand for you. 40:01 That's why you have nothing to fear about the judgment. 40:06 It's the judgment that cleanses 40:08 and purifies God's sanctuary in heaven. 40:11 If you don't see it yet, watch this. 40:13 This is the best part in Hebrews 12, 40:15 I'm gonna have to go fast, because its kind of review, 40:18 "You have not come to a mountain that can be touched 40:21 that was the mountain Moses went up on, no. 40:23 You haven't come to that kind of a mountain 40:25 that can be touched. 40:26 Watch this, verse 22 "You have come to Mount Zion, 40:30 to the heavenly Jerusalem to the city of the living God, 40:33 so you have come to the heavenly Mount Zion, 40:36 to the city of the living God, the New Jerusalem. 40:39 You have come to thousands of angels 40:41 in joyful assembly to the church of the firstborn, 40:45 whose names are written in heaven. 40:47 You have come to the Judge of all man, 40:49 to Jesus the mediator." 40:51 So you don't have to be afraid, 40:53 because you haven't come to an earthly sanctuary, 40:55 you have come to the sanctuary in heaven. 40:59 You have come to Jesus. You have come to the judge. 41:04 You have come to the mediator of the new covenant. 41:09 So we are on Mount Zion right now. 41:12 We are in the heavenly sanctuary right now, 41:16 not in the flesh but our names are written there. 41:22 Our names are written in the book. 41:26 And so in verse 25 he goes on to say, 41:30 "See to it that you do not refuse him who speaks. 41:33 If they did not escape when they refused him long ago, 41:38 who warned them on earth, 41:40 how much more will we if we turn away from Him 41:43 who warns us from heaven? 41:46 Once more he said I will shake 41:49 not only the earth but the heavens. 41:52 The words once more indicating 41:54 the removing of what can be shaken 41:56 that is created thing, 41:57 so that what cannot be shaken may remain. 42:00 Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom 42:03 that cannot be shaken, 42:05 let us be thankful and worship God acceptably 42:08 with reverence and awe." 42:11 The judgment is the purifying of God's church, 42:15 the removing of things that cannot be shaken, 42:19 their names are written in the books, 42:21 but the judgment shows that 42:23 the little horn also claims to be written in the book 42:26 and they are persecuting God's people 42:28 in the name of carrying out the righteous judgments of God. 42:33 Revelation 3:5 to the church Jesus said to him 42:36 who overcomes, I will never blot his name 42:38 out of the books of life. 42:39 But whose names does he blot out? 42:41 The little horn, 42:42 because they are persecuting God's people 42:44 in the righteous name of God, 42:46 claiming to carry out the righteous judgments of God. 42:49 It's the judgment by the law 42:51 that shows who the true saints of God really are. 42:58 Did you keep my law God says. 43:00 Oh yes, I kept Your law perfectly. 43:04 I never made mistakes and when I did, 43:05 I went to confession and preached, 43:09 then I got forgiveness. 43:11 Did you confess to me? 43:14 Oh, I didn't need to do that, I could go to the priest. 43:18 Oh, all my laws. Yes. 43:21 What about the fourth commandment? 43:23 Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy. 43:26 Oh, I did that one. You did? 43:28 Yes, yes Lord I did. 43:31 You kept the seventh day holy? 43:32 Well, you know, we did on the first day. 43:36 But the law says I blessed the seventh day 43:40 and I made it holy. 43:42 I know but our church told that it wasn't important, 43:45 it said it didn't matter. 43:48 Didn't I send you to Revelation Now? 43:56 So when is the sanctuary gonna be restored? 44:00 When we answer that question 44:01 we will know when the judgment began. 44:03 Back to Daniel 8:14, 44:07 He said "After a 2300 evenings and mornings or days, 44:13 then the sanctuary will be reconsecrated." 44:15 Now we know what the reconsecration 44:17 or restoring or purifying means. 44:20 We are going to look at a lot more in the advance seminar, 44:22 so you don't want to miss that lesson, 44:25 but in order to understand the timing, 44:30 it takes place at the end of 2300 days, 44:33 but that doesn't help us 44:35 because he didn't say when the 2300 days begin. 44:40 And Daniel really was puzzled over that 44:44 and that really bothered him 44:46 and he prayed and prayed and prayed 44:47 and finally the angel Gabriel came to interpret it for him 44:50 and he said in chapter 9:23, 44:52 "Therefore consider the message and understand the vision." 44:56 That's the one he was worrying about. 44:58 In verse 24, "Seventy weeks are decreed for your people 45:01 and your holy city to finish transgression, 45:04 put an end to sin, atone for wickedness, 45:06 bring in everlasting righteousness, 45:08 seal up the vision and prophecy and anoint the Most Holy. 45:11 You have seventy weeks to do all these things. 45:13 Now you tell me, seventy weeks 45:15 to bring in everlasting righteousness, 45:18 atone for wickedness, 45:19 seal up the vision, anoint the most. 45:22 Who alone can do these things? 45:25 Only Jesus. Only Jesus. 45:31 So you have seventy weeks 45:32 to get ready for Jesus you see it. 45:37 He is saying you have seventy weeks 45:38 to get ready for the Messiah. 45:39 Now we have seventy weeks 45:41 unto getting ready for the Messiah to come 45:43 and 2300 days and then the judgment begins, 45:48 but we still don't know 45:49 when either one of these time period start 45:51 until we get to the next verse. 45:53 Now comes the fun, in verse 25, 45:57 "No one understand this from the issuing of the decree 46:00 to restore and rebuild Jerusalem, 46:03 and remember Jerusalem was in ruin. 46:04 So when the decree is given to rebuilt Jerusalem 46:07 until the Anointed one the ruler comes, 46:10 there will be seven weeks and sixty-two weeks. 46:14 So that's sixty nine weeks 46:15 from the decree to restore and to build Jerusalem 46:18 until the Anointed one that's the Messiah 46:21 Jesus until He comes sixty nine weeks. 46:24 Now that decree was given in the year 457 BC. 46:27 One of my professors in the seminary, 46:29 Old Testament professor 46:31 was world renowned was-- he passed away 46:33 but he was world renowned as an archeologist 46:36 and he focused a whole book on that date, 46:40 when did that decree, when was that decree given. 46:44 And he discovered it was given by King Artaxerxes 46:47 in the year 457 BC 46:49 and he said there is no Old Testament date 46:52 any more firmly established than that one. 46:57 No wonder, because at the end of that 46:59 sixty nine week starting in 457 BC 47:03 at the end of that 69 weeks would be the Messiah coming. 47:11 We have a prophecy beginning in 457 BC 47:15 and after 69 weeks the Messiah would come, 47:18 there are seven days in a week. 47:20 Seven times sixty nine means that there will be 483 days 47:25 or a day being a symbol for a year, 47:27 483 years until Messiah comes from the decree. 47:32 When you do the math 47:33 it comes out to the year 27 AD, 27 AD. 47:40 What happened in 27 AD? 47:42 Jesus, let me tell. 47:48 Jesus was baptized in the Jordan River 47:53 in the year 27 AD. 47:56 Now, the word Messiah mean anointed one. 48:02 When Jesus was baptized, the Holy Spirit came down 48:07 and anointed Him saying God said you are my son, 48:11 I am well pleased, 48:12 He was anointed as the Son of God by the Holy Spirit 48:16 in 27 AD to be the Messiah. Amen. 48:22 That's awesome. 48:24 Right on time Jesus came as the Messiah. 48:28 No wonder he said in Mark 115, 48:30 he said "The time is fulfilled 48:33 right after His baptism. What time? 48:35 The prophecy of 69 weeks 48:37 until Messiah comes would be fulfilled, 48:40 so Jesus fulfilled that prophecy right on time, 48:43 when He was baptized in 27 AD. 48:45 Then it says after that time verse 26, 48:49 "The anointed one or the Messiah would be cut off 48:52 and have nothing 48:54 but the people of the prince who would come 48:55 would destroy the city and the sanctuary. 48:57 So he would be cut off after that time. 49:02 We know He was after He was baptized, 49:04 He was cut off, wasn't He? 49:06 But it doesn't say when yet. Watch this, verse 27. 49:12 We have one week left remember, 49:14 69 weeks Messiah would come 49:16 seventy weeks to prepare for everything, 49:19 put an end to sin, atone for sacrifice, 49:21 we still have another week left, 49:22 the seventieth week, that's seven years. 49:24 Watch this, He will confirm a covenant 49:27 with many for one week that's seven years 49:30 and in the middle of the week, 49:32 He will put an end to sacrifice and offering. 49:34 So 27 AD He had seven more years to go, 49:37 middle of the week would be 49:38 three and half years later that's 31 AD. 49:43 What happened in 31 AD? 49:45 Let me tell, 49:51 Jesus died on the cross 49:54 and when He died the veil in the temple was torn 49:58 from top to bottom by the unseen hands 50:00 and now you can talk. 50:03 Angels tore the veil, meaning that Jesus put an end 50:08 to the sacrifices and the offerings 50:11 because the Lamb of God had died, 50:14 right on time in the year 31 AD. 50:17 He came in 27, He was crucified in 31 AD. 50:20 What a prophecy? 50:22 It tells us exactly when He would come and He did. 50:24 It tells us exactly when He would die and He does. 50:27 Now we know the starting point of that vision, 50:29 it starts in 457, the starting point is true. 50:33 A year is a symbol for a day is true, 50:35 we proved it with the prophecy. 50:37 Now we can know 2300 days 50:39 then shall the sanctuary be restored. 50:41 A year is a symbol for a day. 50:43 2300 years the sanctuary would be restored, 50:46 the judgment would begin and it equals 1844. 50:51 Now, that's getting closer to our time. 50:54 What happened in 1844? 50:56 The judgment began. How do we know that? 50:59 Because Jesus came right on time. 51:01 Because a day is a symbol for a year, 51:03 because Jesus died on time, 51:05 because our starting point is absolutely correct. 51:08 Therefore the judgment had to begin in 1844 51:12 and anyone after that can say, 51:13 now the hour of God's judgment has come. 51:16 We can know God made sure we can know. 51:19 But some other things happened about that time, 51:21 all around the world equally independent of each other, 51:25 Bible scholars came to the conclusion 51:27 that this prophecy ended in 1844. 51:32 Now they thought that the restoring of the sanctuary 51:36 would be that the sanctuary is the earth 51:38 and the restoring of the sanctuary 51:39 would be Jesus coming to the earth. 51:42 So they started preaching Jesus is coming in 1844. 51:46 And this happened all over the world, 51:48 but especially in our country the Untied States of America, 51:51 it was led by a young Baptist minister named William Miller. 51:56 And William Miller began to preach 51:58 Jesus is coming in all the Baptist churches 52:00 and then the other churches, 52:01 the Methodists, the Presbyterians, 52:02 the other churches started inviting him to come 52:04 and preach in their churches that Jesus is coming in 1844. 52:07 Now if you believe that you knew 52:09 when Jesus was coming 52:10 and it was just a month or two away 52:12 or a week or two away, would it change your life. 52:16 Shouldn't, right. It shouldn't. 52:21 We have no guarantees pass the moment, 52:24 but I know human nature so does God. 52:29 And it did, there was revival 52:31 like none that had ever taken place since Pentecost. 52:34 People turning to God searching their hearts for sin, 52:37 trying to get ready for Jesus to come. 52:39 They even set the date October 22, 1844 52:43 that they came and passed and obviously Jesus didn't come. 52:50 When He didn't come, 52:53 there was a great bitter, bitter disappointment. 52:59 You see when they were preaching that Jesus was coming, 53:02 all of those who believe that were called Adventists, 53:07 because an Adventist is one who believes 53:09 that Jesus is coming soon. 53:11 In that sense every Christian should be an Adventist, 53:15 if you believe Jesus is coming soon, 53:17 so they are all Adventists, Methodist, Presbyterian, 53:19 Episcopal, Pentecostal whatever, they are Adventists 53:23 because they believed Jesus was coming. 53:26 But the disappointment was so bitter, 53:28 that most of them gave up their faith. 53:31 But a few said no, 53:32 the prophecy is right, the prophecy is true 53:35 and they dug into the word of God for more. 53:38 And they found a picture of themselves. 53:40 Did you ever say God, please help me 53:41 and open the Bible and there is exactly what you need to hear, 53:45 I don't recommend doing that 53:47 but that's what happened to them. 53:50 They found the picture of experience 53:52 they have just been through. You want to see it. 53:55 I will show you anyway 53:58 Revelation 10, "I saw in verse 1, 54:02 a mighty angel coming down from heaven. 54:04 He was holding a little scroll, or a book 54:06 which lay open in his hand." 54:08 Daniel was sealed remember, 54:09 seal it up until the time of the end. 54:11 Now they see this book open, 54:13 they are convinced that has to be the book of Daniel, 54:15 only one that was sealed. 54:17 "And then he said there would be no more delay" in verse 6. 54:21 Does that sound like the hour of God's judgment has come? 54:24 Sounds like it to me. 54:26 No more delay verse 8, 54:28 "Then the voice that I heard from heaven 54:29 spoke to me once more. 54:30 "Go and take that book that lies 54:32 open in the hand of the angel, 54:33 so I went to the angel, 54:34 I asked him give me the little scroll 54:36 and he said take it and eat it, 54:38 It will turn your stomach sour, 54:39 but in your mouth it will be as sweet as honey. 54:41 I took the little book from the angel's hand 54:43 I ate it, it tasted as sweet as honey in my mouth 54:45 but I eaten it turns sour. 54:47 Sweet as honey, the Book of Daniel open, 54:49 Jesus is coming 1844, October 22. 54:52 How sweet it was in their mouths, 54:54 but how bitter it was in the stomach 54:58 when Jesus didn't come. 55:00 And they were convinced without a doubt 55:02 that prophecy was written there just for them. 55:06 And so he said God that's us, what do you want us to do? 55:08 And God said, well, read the next verse. 55:11 Oh, okay, so they read the next verse, 55:14 the last verse in the chapter 55:15 "You must prophesy again about many peoples, 55:18 nations, languages and kings." 55:19 How can we prophesy again, God we got it wrong, 55:23 God said read the next verse? 55:26 So they read the next verse, 55:27 we got to compare scripture with scripture. 55:30 "I was given a reed like a measuring rod, 55:32 "Go and measure the temple of God 55:34 and the worshippers there."' 55:36 The temple, that's where we made our mistake, 55:41 the temple of God. 55:43 And so they began to study the temple 55:44 and they discovered the sanctuary in heaven 55:47 that he was talking about, not the sanctuary on earth. 55:50 Now they are excited 55:52 and they didn't need God to tell them to read more 55:53 because they are back into the spirit again 55:56 and they are studying and discovered in verse 18, 55:58 "The time has come for judging the dead." 56:00 Oh, surely the temple in heaven, 56:03 the judgment is the judgment that began in 1844. 56:06 Now it's all getting in clear focused 56:09 and then verse 19, 56:10 God's temple in heaven was opened, 56:12 and in the temple was seen the ark of His covenant. 56:15 What is the standard of the judgment? 56:17 If the judgment began, what's the standard? 56:19 There was the Ark of the Covenant, 56:21 the Ten Commandments 56:24 and that little group of disappointed Adventists 56:28 from all the different churches discovered the Sabbath 56:33 and became Seventh-day Adventists 56:39 just in time for God to raise up a people 56:46 who wouldn't be afraid to stand up and say, 56:50 fear God, give Him glory 56:53 because the hour of His judgment has come. 57:01 You see God has crafted a message. 57:04 He said here is My message, 57:06 the Three Angels' Message, who wants it? 57:11 No one picked it up 57:14 except that little group of discouraged Adventists 57:18 who discovered the last great sign of Jesus to come, 57:25 the hour of God's judgment has come. 57:34 You see the Book of Revelation 57:36 is not for often a distant future, 57:40 the future is here, 57:44 the prophecy is now, Revelation is now. 57:52 You are hearing the Three Angels' Messages now. 57:57 If there was ever a time to worship the Creator, 58:02 that time is now. |
