00:39 Our message tonight is entitled
00:40 "Revelation's Two Minute Warning." 00:43 I invite you to take your Bible and open with me 00:45 to the Book of Revelation Chapter 14 00:49 as we begin our study tonight. 00:52 The first question we want to ask is, 00:55 what event marks the very end of time 00:59 or the end of the world? 01:00 What event brings the end of time 01:02 or the end of the world? 01:03 is the answer 01:05 where the Bible says, 01:06 "And I looked, and behold a white cloud, 01:08 and upon the cloud sat one like unto the Son of man, 01:11 having on his head\ a golden crown, 01:13 and in his hand a" what? 01:15 "Sharp sickle. 01:17 And another angel came out of the temple, 01:18 crying with a loud voice to him that sat on the cloud, 01:21 Thrust in thy sickle, and reap, 01:23 for the time is come" for the what has come? 01:25 "The time is come for the to reap 01:28 for the harvest of the earth is ripe." 01:33 That word harvest is it more of a beginning word 01:36 or an ending word? 01:39 Is an ending word, isn't that right. 01:41 And this is the event 01:44 that marks the very end of time, 01:46 it is the harvest, 01:47 it's the second coming of Jesus. 01:49 Jesus made it clear in the Book of Matthew 13:39, 01:53 that the harvest is the what? 01:56 The end of the world. 01:57 So, friends, what we just read in the Revelation 14:14 01:59 is the end of the world. 02:01 It's the time that Jesus comes to ripe His children 02:04 and bring them to the heavenly, heavenly bond. 02:06 But before Jesus comes, 02:08 before the end of time takes place, 02:10 God in His infinite love and mercy 02:12 is going to send a worldwide warning, 02:16 a message of mercy that the whole world 02:19 to prepare people for the harvest, 02:22 the coming of our Lord. 02:23 It's an end time message and this message 02:26 is the proverbial two minute warning 02:28 that we're discussing tonight. 02:29 What specifically is this message? 02:32 All we have to do is read the context. 02:34 In verse 14 is the harvest, 02:36 the end of time the second coming of Christ. 02:38 But just before that in versus 6 and 7 02:42 there is a global message given to the whole world 02:45 and it's this message 02:46 that makes people ready for the harvest. 02:48 Notice what it says in Revelation 14: 6. 02:52 The Bible says, Revelation 14:6. 02:55 "And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, 02:58 having the everlasting" 03:00 what is that next word? Gospel. 03:02 So this message that the angel carries 03:04 is a gospel message. 03:07 And that word gospel do you know what it means? 03:10 It means good news. 03:12 In other world this is not a bad news message. 03:15 This is not a scary message. 03:17 This is not doom and gloom. 03:20 This is a gospel message. 03:21 It is the everlasting gospel which means good news. 03:25 Friends, I want you to keep that in mind tonight. 03:27 What we're about to study is the gospel. 03:30 It is a good news, get happy and get excitedness. 03:34 Could you say amen? 03:35 Because this everlasting gospel that is going to prepare us 03:39 for the harvest it's gonna ripe in us 03:42 and make us ready. 03:43 Well, what is this gospel notice 03:45 "Having the everlasting gospel 03:47 to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, 03:49 to every nation, kindred, tongue, people, 03:52 " Who is going to have an opportunity 03:53 to hear this gospel? 03:55 It says, every nation, kindred, tongue, and people. 03:57 In other words this is a global message, 03:59 a worldwide message, 04:00 a message of warning to the world, 04:03 a two minute warning, friend's, 04:05 and the reason why it's gonna through up the whole world 04:07 is because God so loved the world, 04:10 He's not willing that any should perish, 04:11 He wants all to come to repentance, 04:13 He wants all to be ready for this grand and great event. 04:17 Could you say, amen? 04:18 And so it's a global message, but is this message? 04:21 Notice verse 7. 04:22 "Saying with a loud voice, 04:24 Fear God, and give glory to him, 04:27 for the hour of his" what? 04:30 "Judgment." 04:31 What are the next two words? 04:32 "Is come." 04:35 Friends, that word hour, 04:37 the word hour is a measurement of what? 04:39 Time. 04:41 So apart of this worldwide global end time gospel message 04:45 is a message about time. 04:49 And the time has to do with God's judgment. 04:55 It's a time in judgment message. 04:57 And the angel says, that the hour 05:00 or the timing of God's judgment is to come. 05:03 Now, friends, is come, what tense is that? 05:06 Is that past, present or future? 05:08 Is come is present tense. 05:12 So we see that just before the harvest 05:14 which is the end of the world, the second coming of Christ, 05:17 there is gonna be a global message 05:19 about the timing of God's judgment 05:21 that's going to come in the present tense. 05:25 Are you with me, yes or no? 05:27 Tonight we want to find out what exactly does that mean? 05:31 What is this message in Revelation 05:33 referring to the hour of God's judgment? 05:36 Friends, this is the proverbial two minute warning 05:38 we're talking about tonight. 05:39 A message about time 05:41 calling us to get ready for the harvest. 05:43 And tonight we're gonna find out exactly 05:45 when the hour of God's judgment would come. 05:50 Notice what the Bible says 05:51 concerning the timing of judgment. 05:53 Follow me carefully as we move step by step 05:54 through this tonight. 05:55 In Acts 17:31, please write it down. 05:59 The Bible says, 06:00 "Because God has appointed a day," 06:02 He's appointed what? 06:03 And that word day is also a measurement of time. 06:08 And the Bible says that God appointed a day, 06:10 "in the which he will judge the world 06:14 in righteousness." 06:15 So tell me friends, according to this verse, 06:17 does God have a specific day or a specific time in mind, 06:21 and in the which He will begin to judge the world, yes or no? 06:24 Yes, friends. 06:26 He has an appointed time 06:28 in which His judgment would come. 06:31 Now we see already that it has to be 06:33 before the harvest. 06:36 In fact, notice what else the Bible says 06:38 concerning the timing of judgment. 06:40 In Acts 24:25, this is referring to the Apostle Paul. 06:45 It says, "And as he reasoned of righteousness, 06:47 temperance, and judgment" what? 06:50 "To come." 06:51 Now, friends, what is that? 06:52 What tense is that, to come? 06:53 Future tense, right. 06:55 In other words, during the days of the early Apostolic Church 06:57 and the time of the Apostle Paul 06:59 the timing of God's judgment was still a futuristic event. 07:03 It was still something that was to come in the future. 07:06 But then when you go to Revelation Chapter 14 07:08 the angel says, it's here, it's arrived. 07:12 And this happens before the harvest in verse 14. 07:18 Do you see the context? 07:20 Revelation 14:7, the judgment is come 07:24 and then after that verse 14, 07:26 the second coming of Christ happens after that. 07:28 So we find that the timing of the God's judgment 07:32 had to be sometime after the days of the apostle, 07:34 but then sometime just prior to the second coming of Christ. 07:40 Are you with me, yes or no? 07:41 If I would notice another verse, 07:43 we're trying to narrow down the timing of God's judgment. 07:47 In Revelation 22:12, it says, 07:50 "And, behold, I come quickly, and my reward is" where? 07:54 "With me, to give every man 07:57 according as his work shall be." 07:59 So Jesus says that when He comes, 08:01 His reward is already with Him. 08:03 In other words, the reward is already determined 08:05 and it's determined, 08:06 it's according to every man's work. 08:09 Now, friends, think about it, it's logical. 08:11 If when Jesus comes, 08:13 He already has His reward with Him 08:16 and it's according to individual's work. 08:19 That shows that there have to have first 08:22 been an investigation of individuals work 08:26 to determine who will receive which reward. 08:30 I mean, that's logical isn't it? 08:32 Here's the point. 08:33 "An investigative judgment begins 08:34 sometime before Jesus comes 08:37 to give rewards according to our works." 08:38 And the reason why I'm emphasizing this 08:39 is because many people think 08:41 that judgment happens at the second coming. 08:45 Now, friends, rewards are given at the second coming, 08:48 but the rewards are determined before He comes. 08:51 The hour of His judgment is come 08:53 sometime after the days of Apostolic Church. 08:56 Well, sometime just prior to the harvest, 08:59 the second coming of Christ. 09:00 And if that is clear, would you please say amen? 09:03 Amen. 09:04 And so what we want to find out tonight is this. 09:07 When did this judgment hour begin? 09:11 We already saw that it has to begin sometime 09:14 after days of the early apostolic church 09:16 and sometime prior to the harvest 09:18 the second coming of Christ. 09:20 And God in His word has given us a time prophecy 09:25 that shows us exactly 09:26 when the hour of God's judgment will begin. 09:29 So we're going to study this prophecy, 09:30 it's the longest time prophecy in all of scripture 09:33 that points to the day 09:35 in which God will begin to judge the world. 09:37 And, friends, before we talk about 09:38 the timing of the judgment, 09:40 we first must ask about the location of judgment. 09:44 So the question is, where does judgment take place? 09:48 Daniel 7 tells us where judgment takes place. 09:51 Judgment takes place in heaven at the very throne of God. 09:55 But as we follow the context and go to chapter 8, 09:58 chapter 8 actually tells us when judgment takes places. 10:02 Because Daniel Chapter 8 gives a time prophecy 10:06 that points us to the timing of God's judgment in heaven. 10:12 So notice with me the foundation of scripture 10:14 for our study tonight. 10:15 Daniel 8:14, "He said unto me, 10:18 Unto two thousand and three hundred days," 10:22 friends, that world days it's a measurement of-- 10:25 so this is a time prophecy. 10:28 "Unto two thousand and three hundred days then" 10:32 what's gonna happen? 10:33 "The sanctuary is gonna be cleansed." 10:36 In other words after 2,300 days pass 10:40 than the sanctuary would be cleansed. 10:42 Friends, this time prophecy points us 10:46 to when the hour of God's judgment would begin. 10:50 "The only way to understand the timing of judgment 10:53 is to first understand the sanctuary." 10:55 And so here's the question, 10:56 what did the "cleansing of the sanctuary" refer to? 11:00 You see, if we lived in Old Testament times 11:02 and wanted to be forgiven of our sins, 11:04 we would have to go to the sanctuary 11:07 and we would have to bring a spotless lamb 11:10 to the sanctuary. 11:11 And in order to be forgiven, 11:13 we would have to put our hands 11:14 on the head of that innocent animal 11:17 and we would confess our sins to God 11:19 and symbolically our sins are now transferred from us 11:22 the sinner to that innocent animal. 11:26 And then, upon confessing our sins 11:28 we would then have to take a knife 11:29 and with our own hands we would have to cut the throat 11:33 of that little innocent animal 11:35 the jugular vein causing the blood to flow 11:37 and causing that little innocent animal to die. 11:42 This is what was required for the forgiveness of sins. 11:45 The Bible says in Hebrews 9:22 11:47 "Without the shedding of blood 11:48 there is no remission or forgiveness of sins." 11:51 The reason why God told His people to do this, 11:53 is because He was trying to get it 11:54 through our thick skulls 11:55 that sin is not a good thing. 11:59 And, Friends, the reason why the lamb 12:00 had to be without spot and blemish 12:03 because there was the point forward 12:04 to the true lamb of God, 12:06 Jesus who had to be with out sin 12:10 in order to be our vicarious substitute sacrifice. 12:14 But friends, whenever we sin the Bible says, 12:16 it's like crucifying Jesus, a fresh. 12:20 Sin causes pain to God. 12:22 Our sins crucify Jesus. 12:27 And so that's the reason why God said 12:29 an innocent animal had to die. 12:31 He was trying to teach man 12:33 that in order for the guilty to be forgiven, 12:35 the innocent had to take their place. 12:40 In every lamb, every animal that was sacrificed 12:43 was the point us forward to the true Lamb of God 12:46 Jesus Christ. 12:48 Well, friends, I'm thankful for Jesus, 12:49 how about you? 12:50 And so that sinner 12:51 would have to cut the throat of the animal 12:53 and the priest was there with a bowl 12:56 to catch the blood as it float. 12:58 Then the priest would take the blood 13:02 symbolic of the sin. 13:03 Symbolic of the what? 13:05 Sin. 13:06 He would take that blood in to the sanctuary. 13:10 And, friends, on his way to the sanctuary 13:13 he would stop by the laver 13:14 which was a symbol of washing and cleansing, 13:16 but then he would go in the sanctuary itself 13:19 with the blood symbolic of the sin 13:22 and then that priest would sprinkle the blood 13:25 upon the veil in the sanctuary. 13:28 That veil is what separated 13:31 the holy from the most holy places. 13:34 You see, friends, that tent had two main compartments. 13:36 The first one, the holy place. 13:38 The second one, the most holy place. 13:40 In the holy place was the candlestick, 13:42 the table of showbread, the altar of incense. 13:44 And so that priest would dip his fingers in the blood 13:47 and he would sprinkle it upon the veil. 13:49 And, friends, that act, listen, listen, 13:51 the act of sprinkling the blood on the veil is what-- 13:56 it transferred the sin into the sanctuary. 13:59 That act is what soiled the sanctuary. 14:03 It is what caused the sanctuary to become dirty in other words. 14:08 That's where the sin 14:09 and the record of it was placed. 14:12 And so let's walk through this together. 14:13 The sin was transferred from the sinner 14:16 to the animal. 14:18 The animal to its blood 14:21 because the life is in the blood the Bible says. 14:24 Now the blood symbolic of the sin, 14:27 the record of the sin is now taken into the sanctuary 14:30 sprinkled on the veil, 14:32 this is what dirtied or soiled the sanctuary 14:36 and this, friends, happen every single day, 14:39 it was called the daily service. 14:41 The what kind of service? Daily service. 14:42 And you can read all about it in Leviticus Chapter 4. 14:46 It talks all about the daily service. 14:48 This happened every single day. 14:49 Blood was flowing and the record of sin 14:51 was transferred into the sanctuary 14:53 during the daily service. 14:54 And so this would happen, 14:55 the sinner was forgiven of their sin. 14:58 But where was the record of that sin? 15:00 It was in the sanctuary. 15:03 It happened every day. 15:04 It was called the daily service. 15:06 But then once a year, there was a yearly service 15:10 that fell on what the Bible calls 15:11 the Day of Atonement. 15:14 The day of what? Atonement. 15:15 And, friends, that word atonement is a fancy word 15:18 that simply means At-One-ment. 15:21 It was the day in which the people were made 15:23 at one with God 15:25 and the record of their sin 15:27 was blotted out from the sanctuary itself. 15:31 On this special day called the Day of Atonement 15:33 the high priest would not just go into the holy place, 15:37 but he would go beyond the veil 15:39 into the most holy place of the sanctuary 15:42 and in that most holy place 15:44 there is only one article furniture, 15:46 it was called The Ark of the Covenant. 15:48 What was it called? Ark of the Covenant. 15:49 And The Ark of the Covenant was chest like piece of furniture 15:51 overlaid with gold 15:53 on the inside and on the outside, 15:54 and on the inside of the chest was the Ten Commandments, 15:57 the holy law of God. 16:00 Just above the Ten Commandments 16:01 was a solid slab of gold that covered the chest, 16:04 that solid slab of gold was called the mercy seat. 16:08 Because upon the mercy seat sat the Shekinah Glory 16:13 which was the visible manifestation 16:14 to the glory of God between the two angels 16:16 and, friends, that mercy seat represents the throne of God. 16:23 And, friends, I'm so thankful that the throne of God 16:26 is not called the judgment seat, 16:28 it's called the mercy seat. 16:30 Could you say, amen? Amen. 16:31 Even though this is the place where judgment happens 16:34 is called the mercy seat. 16:35 It represents the throne of grace. 16:39 That's another reason why judgment is not scary 16:42 because where judgment takes place 16:44 that throne is called the mercy seat. 16:48 It is the very throne of grace. 16:50 And so, on the Day of Atonement that happened, 16:52 how often again? 16:54 Once a year. 16:55 The high priest would go into the most holy place 16:57 with the blood of the sacrificial animal 16:59 and then he would sprinkle the blood on the mercy seat. 17:02 Friends, listen, 17:03 the act of sprinkling the blood on the mercy seat, 17:05 that act is what cleansed the sanctuary 17:11 of the record of sin 17:13 that had been accumulated throughout the year. 17:16 This was the time that sin was completely blotted out forever 17:21 that the atonement was made, the full atonement. 17:23 It was happen on the Day of Atonement, 17:26 the yearly service. 17:29 And some of you are wondering, well, 17:30 why is this so complicated to get rid of sin? 17:32 Well, let me tell you, friends, sin is not a simple thing. 17:34 Sin is complicated. 17:35 Sin is a terrible intruder 17:38 and so this is how God dealt with sin 17:41 through the daily service and the yearly service. 17:44 Let me illustrate it like this. 17:45 How often do you take a shower? 17:46 Every day. 17:47 Every day I hope, amen. 17:49 Friends, this is good idea to get cleansed daily. 17:53 Friends, taking a shower is a daily service. 17:58 But, friends, every now and then 18:01 you ought to clean the bathtub, isn't that right? 18:04 Right? Amen. 18:06 Because even though you're cleansed, 18:07 if you don't clean the bathtub after a while, 18:10 you have what we call buildup. 18:12 Do you know what I'm talking about? 18:14 Some of you have some of this? 18:16 Now, friends, this is what it was. 18:17 The daily service where the sin, 18:20 the record of sin was being transferred into the sanctuary, 18:23 that was like a daily shower. 18:25 But the yearly service was like cleaning the bathtub. 18:30 Cleaning the sanctuary itself of the record 18:32 that have been accumulated. 18:33 Now, friends, listen, you ought to clean the bathtub 18:35 more then once a year. 18:36 But do you understand the point I'm trying to make? 18:39 It's the cleansing the bathtub. 18:41 Let me give you another illustration. 18:42 How many of you use computers? 18:44 Now there is something on the desktop of your computer 18:46 that is very helpful if you want to cleanse things. 18:49 If you want to get rid of things 18:51 there's a little icon there and you put, 18:53 you just drive whatever is not necessary. 18:54 You will trash the things you don't want any more, 18:56 you put right there. 18:57 What is that called? What is that thing called? 18:58 The trash bin. 19:00 Isn't that right? 19:01 Now when you put something in the trash bin, 19:04 your desktop has been cleansed. 19:07 But is that record still there? 19:09 Where is it? 19:11 In the trash bin 19:12 and it's not completely blotted out 19:14 until you empty the trash. 19:18 Friends, the daily service was like 19:20 putting it in the trash bin, 19:21 the record is there but the yearly service, 19:24 the Day of Atonement was like 19:25 the emptying of the trash bin itself, 19:26 it's when the sin was blotted out completely. 19:30 This is what the Bible means 19:31 when it talks about the cleansing of the sanctuary. 19:35 And, friends, if that make sense. 19:37 Would you please amen? Amen. 19:38 So when Daniel talked about unto 2,300 days 19:41 than the sanctuary will be cleansed, 19:42 it's referring to that day, the Day of Atonement. 19:44 Now the question is, 19:45 what does this have to do with judgment? 19:47 Friends, it has everything to do with judgment, 19:48 you know, why? 19:49 Because the Day of Atonement 19:50 was not just a day of cleansing, 19:52 it was also a Day of Judgment. 19:55 Let me explain. 19:57 Ten days before the Day of Atonement 19:58 would take place, 19:59 trumpets would sound in Israel, 20:01 calling the Israelites to begin to fast 20:04 and pray to afflict their souls and to search their hearts 20:08 in preparation for the Day of Atonement 20:10 when the priest would cleanse the sanctuary. 20:12 And in preparation for the special day 20:16 they were to make sure that all their sins were confessed 20:18 and repented on. 20:20 Notice what happens. 20:21 Leviticus 16:29, 30, write it down. 20:24 It says, "In the tenth day of the seventh month, 20:26 you shall" do what? 20:28 "Afflict your souls, and do no work at all. 20:30 For on that day the priest shall make" what? 20:33 "Atonement for you, to cleanse you, 20:36 that you may be clean of all your sins before the Lord." 20:39 It says, in the tenth day of the seventh month. 20:41 Friends, is that a specific time. 20:43 Yes or no? Yes. 20:44 So there's a specific time. 20:45 God says, on this day 20:46 the priest will cleanse you with all your sins, 20:49 the sanctuary is gonna be blotted out, 20:50 that the record that's in there 20:52 is gonna be taken away. 20:53 And so in preparation for this, 20:55 they have to afflict their souls 20:57 and search their hearts 20:58 and say, Lord, is there something in my life 21:00 that I have not just surrendered to you, 21:01 whatever it is reveal it to me 21:03 and give me the gift of true repentance 21:05 and remove it from my life. 21:06 And so what happened on the Day of Atonement 21:08 as the high priest was in the most holy place 21:12 cleansing the record of sin, 21:15 the people on the outside of the sanctuary 21:18 they were working in harmony with the high priest. 21:22 They were working, how? 21:24 In harmony of the high priest how so, 21:26 as the high priest cleanse that sanctuary of the record of sin, 21:29 they were working in harmony 21:31 by cleansing the soul sanctuary, 21:33 the temple, their hearts of the sins of their lives. 21:37 How? 21:38 By confession and repentance to God. 21:41 They couldn't get rid of themselves. 21:43 They were just praying, Lord, take it away from me. 21:46 And all those who were working in harmony 21:48 with the high priest, 21:49 they were the ones that benefited 21:52 from what the high priest was doing in the sanctuary 21:54 in the most holy place. 21:56 Well, here's the question. 21:57 Well, what about those who were not working in harmony 21:59 with the high priest? 22:01 What about those who were careless and indifferent? 22:03 What about those who chose to clang on to their sins 22:06 instead of allowing the Lord to take it from them 22:08 for those people, they were playing games with God 22:11 and clinking to sin, 22:12 for them the Day of Atonement was not a day of cleansing, 22:15 it was a day of judgment. 22:19 How so? 22:20 Notice what the Bible says. 22:21 In Leviticus 23:29, 30 the Bible says, 22:24 "For any person who is not afflicted in soul 22:27 on that same day shall be" what? 22:29 "Cut off." 22:32 Friends, I want you to keep that expression in your mind. 22:34 You might want to write it down. 22:35 The one that was not afflicting their hearts 22:37 and praying and confessing their sins to God, 22:39 on the Day of Atonement the Bible says, 22:40 that they would be cut off from His people. 22:45 And any person who does any work on that same day 22:47 that person I will destroy from among his people. 22:51 Friends, if you still had sin in your life that, 22:53 known sin that you did not let go, 22:55 you didn't let the Lord take away from you. 22:57 The Bible tells us that on this day 22:58 those individuals will be cut off, 23:00 they will be stone to death. 23:01 You see, friends, the Day of Atonement 23:02 was a serious and solemn day. 23:04 One Hebrew scholar said describing the Day of Atonement 23:07 that it was a crisis of confession and repentance. 23:12 And so the Day of Atonement 23:16 was not just cleansing, it was also judgment. 23:21 And this day that happened once a year 23:23 was to be an object lesson to teach you and I 23:26 about the final judgment. 23:29 Where? 23:31 In heaven at the throne of God that is found 23:35 in the most holy place of the sanctuary. 23:38 Well, how does this earthly ceremony the Day of Atonement, 23:42 how does that teach us about end time events 23:44 and heavenly things? 23:46 Now we go to the New Testament to see how the new and old are 23:49 in perfect harmony with the self. 23:51 Notice what it says in Hebrews 8:1, 2. 23:56 Hebrews 8:1, 2 tells us 23:59 that just as there was an earthly sanctuary 24:01 there was a heaven that the earthly was a copy. 24:04 The Bible tells us, "We have such a High Priest, 24:06 who is seated at the right hand of the" what? 24:09 "Throne of the Majesty" where? 24:12 "In the heavens, a Minister of the sanctuary 24:15 and of the" what kind of tabernacle? 24:17 "The true tabernacle which" who erected? 24:19 "The Lord erected and not man." 24:22 The same where there was an earthly sanctuary 24:23 that was erected by the people of God. 24:25 The Bible tells us that 24:26 there is a true sanctuary in heaven 24:29 where God's throne is 24:30 and this is what the Bible is referring to 24:33 in Daniel Chapter 8. 24:35 If I've noticed another one, 24:36 Hebrews 9:24 the Bible tells us. 24:39 "For Christ is not entered into the holy places 24:41 made with hands, 24:43 which are" what is the next word? 24:46 "Copies of the true." 24:48 So that the earthly sanctuary that was made with hands 24:51 was just a copy, 24:52 it was a replica of the true sanctuary. 24:55 But where is the sanctuary? 24:57 Which are copies of the true but into" Where? 25:00 "Heaven itself, now to appear 25:02 in the presence of God for us." 25:06 In other words, friends, here's the point. 25:07 Everything that happened in that earthly sanctuary 25:10 was a reflection of all what would happen in heaven. 25:13 Just as there was an earthly high priest, 25:15 so to there's a heavily high priest 25:16 and what is his name? 25:17 Jesus Christ. 25:18 Can you say amen? 25:19 And just as there was an earthly Day of Atonement 25:22 which was also a day of cleansing and judgment, 25:24 so to there would be a heavenly Day of Atonement 25:27 or heavenly cleansing which would be the hour 25:30 of God's judgment. 25:33 In fact notice, 25:36 now we go back to the time prophecy 25:38 and we can understand about the timing of judgment. 25:43 Friends, before we move on, 25:44 how many of you feel like you understand 25:46 what the Bible is referring to when it talks about 25:48 the cleansing of the sanctuary. 25:49 If you understand that, let me hear you say amen. 25:50 Amen. 25:51 What he is referring to? 25:52 It's referring to the Day of Atonement. 25:54 Which was a day of cleansing 25:55 for those who afflicting their souls. 25:57 But it was a judgment for those who are clinging 25:59 to their known sins. 26:01 And so now that we understand the cleansing of the sanctuary, 26:03 let's now study the time element of this 26:07 to find out when exactly this heavenly judgment began. 26:11 The angel said, "Unto two thousand three days 26:15 then shall the sanctuary be cleansed." 26:18 But, friends, question, 26:19 which sanctuary was it referring to? 26:22 Was it referring to earthly sanctuary 26:25 or the heavenly sanctuary? 26:26 Friends, it had to have been referring 26:28 to the heavenly sanctuary 26:29 because when the angel gave this prophecy 26:31 that earthly sanctuary was still in ruins. 26:34 The Babylonians remember 26:35 they came and they destroyed Jerusalem 26:37 and the temple, the sanctuary was completely desolate. 26:41 So this had to been talking about 26:42 the heavenly sanctuary 26:44 and thus the heavenly and the final Day of Atonement 26:48 or the final judgment hour of God. 26:51 Well, some of you're wondering, 26:52 well, how can this be referring to an end time event 26:59 when the angel said 2,300 days? 27:02 What time period did this prophecy refer to? 27:05 Notice in verse 17. 27:07 The angel says to Daniel, "Understand son of man, 27:09 that the vision refers to the time of the" What? 27:12 End. 27:13 So, friends, what kind of prophecy is this? 27:15 It's an end time prophecy. 27:18 But how could it be an end time prophecy, 27:20 if it's only 2,300 days? 27:22 Well, just a little over six years, 27:24 that would have been fulfilled in Daniel's time, 27:26 but the angel said it's an end time prophecy. 27:28 How do we understand this? 27:30 Now I want to introduce you to a prophetic time key 27:33 that is essential in order to understand 27:36 time prophecies in the Bible. 27:39 And the prophetic time key is this. 27:42 In Bible prophecy, one prophetic day equals 27:47 or represents one literal year. 27:51 And you can find it in the Book of Ezekiel 4:6. 27:54 "I have laid on you a day for each year." 27:56 "Each day for a year." 27:59 And scholars of many different denominations agree 28:02 that in prophetic context. 28:04 Hey, what kind of context? Prophetic context. 28:05 Not just in any context, but a prophetic, 28:07 a symbolic context, when it deals with time 28:10 one prophetic day equals one literal year. 28:14 So these 2,300 days or prophetic days 28:17 which means that its literal years 28:19 and when use their time prophetic key, 28:22 it now becomes like the angel says, 28:24 on end time prophecy. 28:28 Are you with me, yes or no? 28:29 So now here's the next question. 28:31 When does the 2,300 years begin 28:34 and when does it end? 28:37 The angel gives the answer in verse 24, 28:39 notice what it says. 28:41 "Seventy weeks" now, friends, that word weeks 28:43 is also a measurement of? 28:45 Time. 28:46 So God is giving more details to the time prophecy. 28:50 Seventy weeks are determined. 28:52 Friends, that word determined in the Hebrew 28:53 it means cut off. 28:56 Do you remember that expression? 28:58 "Seventy weeks are determined or cut off upon thy people" 29:01 who is Daniel's people? 29:02 The Jewish nation. 29:04 "And upon thy holy city" where was the holy city? 29:06 Jerusalem. 29:08 So 70 weeks are cut off determined, 29:10 given to the people of God, the Israelite nation 29:13 and in this time period what were they to do? 29:15 It says, "To finish transgression, 29:18 and to make an end of their sins." 29:22 Here God is now giving a time prophecy. 29:26 A time of probation for the Jewish nation 29:29 for them to put an end of their sins 29:32 and their apostasy against the Lord. 29:34 And the key word in this passage 29:36 to help us to understand is the word determined. 29:39 As I mentioned that word determined means cut off. 29:42 In other words, "God cut off " 70 prophetic weeks of probation 29:47 is cut off and given to the Jewish nation for them 29:50 to make an end of their sins." 29:52 Well, why would God do this? 29:53 You remember, that God made a special covenant 29:56 with the nation of Israel. 29:58 He said I would be your God and you will be My people. 30:00 I will bless you and make you the head 30:02 and not the tail, and through you 30:03 all nations will be blessed. 30:04 God chose this wonderful people to be the showcase of His grace 30:09 that the whole world, 30:10 a special covenant relationship was made 30:12 with the special people. 30:14 But here's the question, 30:15 was the covenant God made with the Israelite nation 30:17 was a conditional or was it unconditional? 30:20 Friends, you studied the Bible carefully, 30:21 it was a conditional covenant. 30:23 You can read the covenant in Deuteronomy Chapter 28. 30:27 Basically obey and live or disobey and die, 30:30 it was an unconditional, it was conditional. 30:33 And God's people unfortunately they did not obey His voice 30:37 and as a result the Babylonians came 30:38 to destroy the temple in Jerusalem 30:41 and to destroy God's people 30:43 and take them captive in Babylon. 30:45 And so now Daniel is in Babylon, 30:48 his people are in apostasy. 30:50 They have been given to the hands of their enemies. 30:52 And so now God comes to Daniel through His angel Gabriel 30:56 and gives to His people, the Jewish nation 30:58 70 prophetic weeks of probation for them to keep the covenant 31:03 to put an end of their sins 31:04 and to allow the Lord to bring in everlasting righteousness. 31:07 In other words, this 70 week prophecy 31:09 was like God's final ultimatum for the Jewish nation. 31:12 He says, 70 weeks are determined cut off 31:15 and giving to you as a time of probation. 31:18 Are you with me, yes or no? 31:20 But here's the question. 31:22 If 70 weeks are cut off, what are they cut off from? 31:28 I mean, if you cut something off 31:29 there was something that you cut it off from, is that right? 31:32 So here's the time, a chunk of time 31:33 70 weeks cut off but where it did come from? 31:36 Well, friends, the only other time 31:38 that it could come from was the context, 31:40 the larger time prophecy of the 2,300 days. 31:45 And so we find that the first 70 weeks 31:48 of the 2,300 days are cut off 31:52 and given to the Jewish nation as a time of probation. 31:56 And so what God is doing? 31:58 He's repeating and enlarging, 32:00 giving more details 32:02 to the larger 2,300 day prophecy. 32:04 Are you with me, yes or no? 32:06 We are step by step, friends. 32:08 And so now here's the next question. 32:09 How long is this first 70 prophetic weeks? 32:13 Well, friends, remember 32:14 one prophetic day equals one literal year. 32:17 And so let's do some math. 32:19 How many years is 70 prophetic weeks? 32:22 70 weeks times, 7 days per week equals 490 days. 32:29 But these are prophetic days 32:31 which means that they are literal years. 32:34 70 times 7, this is time period that God gave 32:38 to the Jewish nation as a special time of probation, 32:41 70 times 7. 32:43 And by the way, friends, do you remember 32:44 when Peter asked Jesus Lord, 32:46 how many times shall I forgive my brother? 32:48 Shall I forgive him 7 times? 32:50 And Peter was proud, I'm gonna give him 7 times. 32:52 What was Jesus answered? 32:54 70 times 7, how much is that? 32:58 490. 32:59 Friends, I believe that when Jesus said that 33:01 He was actually referring to this time prophecy 33:05 because that's how many years God gave to His people 33:08 as a time of probation 33:09 and now it begins to dawn upon us 33:11 that the Bible is actually lot deeper than we thought. 33:13 Can you say amen? Amen. 33:15 And so now notice as we go back to this chart 33:18 to visualize what we're studying here tonight. 33:20 We're talking about the 2,300 days. 33:23 The points to the cleansing of the sanctuary 33:25 and the final judgment in heaven. 33:27 The first 70 weeks or 490 years are cut off, 33:30 given to the Jewish nation and the last part 33:34 1,810 years will bring us to the hour of God's judgment. 33:38 Well, friends, here's the next question. 33:40 When is the ending year? 33:42 Well, you can't know the end 33:44 unless you know the beginning, right? 33:47 And so when do we begin to count the years? 33:51 The angel Gabriel tells us, 33:53 a specific time to begin to count. 33:56 Now notice as we go back, Daniel 9:25. 33:59 Gabriel says to Daniel, "Know therefore and understand, 34:02 that from the going forth of the command 34:04 or the decree to restore and build Jerusalem" 34:08 stop right there. 34:09 Why did Jerusalem needed to be restored and rebuild? 34:12 Because you remember the Babylonians destroyed it. 34:15 And so now God is coming to Daniel and saying, 34:17 whenever there is a decree 34:18 that gives you down and your people 34:20 permission to go back 34:21 to restore and rebuild Jerusalem 34:23 that's the time that you begin to count. 34:25 And remember this happened during the days of Nehemiah? 34:29 You remember that? 34:30 Ezra and Esther and what not, those stories, 34:31 that where it took place. 34:33 And so notice we go back, verse 25. 34:35 "Know therefore and understand, 34:37 that from the going forth of the commandment 34:39 or the decree 34:40 to restore and build Jerusalem until" Who? 34:44 "Messiah the Prince." 34:47 Friends, who is Messiah the Prince? 34:48 Friends, do you know why we are studying this 34:51 time prophecy tonight? 34:52 Because it is a Christ centered prophecy, 34:56 because it points us to Jesus, amen. 34:58 You see things are only important 35:00 as it's connected to Jesus Christ. 35:03 So it says, from this decree or command 35:06 that gives you permission to rebuild your temple 35:08 and your city until Messiah the Prince, 35:12 "there shall be seven weeks and sixty-two weeks 35:15 or 69 weeks, 35:17 the street shall be built again, 35:20 and the wall, even in troublesome times. 35:24 And then after the sixty-nine weeks passed" 35:27 it says, "And after 62 weeks, Messiah shall be cut off, 35:32 but not for Himself." 35:33 And so sometime after the 69 weeks 35:36 Messiah would be cut off, 35:38 it's pointing forward to the sacrifice of Jesus. 35:43 And so I want you to see this chart 35:45 so that you can visualize what we're studying tonight. 35:47 We're talking about the 70 prophetic weeks of probation 35:50 given to the Jewish nation. 35:51 It would begin whenever the decree is given 35:55 to give the Jews permission to rebuild Jerusalem. 35:58 And then after that 69 prophetic weeks later 36:02 would bring us to the time of Messiah. 36:05 Oh, when was the decree given 36:06 that gave the Jews permission to rebuild their city? 36:09 According to the Book of Ezra Chapter 7:13, 36:12 as well as confirmation through history, 36:14 the decree that was issued to give the Jews permission 36:17 to rebuilt their city and their temple 36:19 happened in 457 B.C. 36:24 In what year? 457 B.C. 36:26 That's the year friends, that we begin to count. 36:28 The 70 weeks as well as the 2,300 day prophecy. 36:32 It was the decree of Artaxerxes, King of Persia. 36:35 You see there were three decrees actually, 36:38 but it was the decree given in 457 36:40 that actually enabled the Jews 36:42 to finish the work to restore everything. 36:45 The street shall be built again, 36:47 even the walls, even in trouble some times. 36:49 And so now we have an anchor date, 36:51 the year 457 B.C., that's the beginning point. 36:54 Now all we have to do is add 36:57 and adding is not too hard, is it? 36:59 And so let's add, 457 and then 69 prophetic weeks later-- 37:05 Well, how long is 69 prophetic weeks? 37:08 69 weeks times 7 days per week 37:12 equals 483 prophetic days or literal years. 37:20 So you take 457, you add 483 years later 37:25 and it brings us to the year A.D.27, 37:29 this is pointing to the time of Messiah. 37:33 Now, friends, who's the Messiah? 37:35 Jesus. 37:37 But do you know what the Messiah means? 37:39 The word Messiah literally means the Anointed One. 37:43 What does it mean? Anointed One. 37:44 And so here's the question. 37:46 In what year was Jesus anointed Messiah? 37:49 What event was the anointing of Messiah? 37:51 Well, friends, we don't have to guess 37:53 because the Bible tells us 37:54 that it was at the baptism of Christ 37:56 that He was anointed by the Spirit of God 37:57 to begin His public work. 37:59 And here's the question. 38:00 In what year was Jesus baptized? 38:02 According to the prophecy, it must be in the year A.D. 27. 38:08 And what year was He baptized? Notice, Luke 3:1, 21. 38:12 It says, now in the fifteenth year 38:14 of the reign of Tiberius Caesar 38:17 it came to pass that Jesus was baptized, 38:19 and while He prayed, the heaven were opened." 38:21 Friends, would you like to guess, 38:22 what was the 15th year 38:24 of the reign of Tiberius Caesar? 38:26 Friends, do you know what year that was? 38:28 It was exactly A.D. 27 38:32 Jesus was baptized right on time. 38:36 Amen? 38:38 And some of you are wondering well, why did Jesus wait 38:40 so long to begin His ministry? 38:41 The reason why He waited is because He had to fulfill this 38:44 messianic prophecy in Daniel Chapter 9. 38:47 He was baptized in A.D. 27 right on time. 38:51 Friends, Jesus always does things right on time. 38:55 Never later, never early, right on time. 38:57 Can you say amen? 38:59 And friends, remember when He was baptized, 39:00 He began His public ministry 39:01 and He began to preach and guess what He preached, 39:03 in Mark 1:15 write it down. 39:06 The Bible says, "And saying, The time is fulfilled." 39:11 What time? What time is He talking about? 39:15 What do you mean Jesus, the time is fulfilled? 39:17 Friends, you realize that when He said that, 39:18 He was referring to the prophecy of Daniel Chapter 9. 39:22 He was saying here I am. 39:24 I am the fulfillment of this prophecy. 39:27 "The time is fulfilled, the kingdom of God is at hand, 39:30 repent ye, and believe the gospel." 39:34 Amen. 39:35 So now let's go back this chart, 39:37 so that we can visualize what we're saying. 39:38 Friends, we're repeating enlarging 39:40 so that we can get it tonight. 39:41 We're talking about the 70 weeks of probation 39:43 given to the Jewish nation beginning at the decree 39:45 that gave them permission to rebuilt Jerusalem 39:47 issued by Artaxerxes in 457 B.C., 39:51 then 69 prophetic weeks later or 483 literal years later 39:55 brings us to the time of the anointing of Messiah 39:57 at His baptism in A.D. 27. 40:01 And now how many weeks left, do we have of the 70 weeks? 40:06 One week left. 40:08 And friends, in this last final week, 40:12 we find some amazing prophecies of our Jesus Christ. 40:18 And so 70th week, one prophetic week, 40:21 how many days in a week? 40:23 Seven. Seven, right? 40:24 And so how many years is this? 40:26 Its seven years, friends, the 70th week 40:30 what's gonna happen in this week, the Bible tells us. 40:32 Notice with me in Daniel 9:26, 40:36 "And after threescore and two weeks 40:37 shall Messiah be" what? 40:40 "Cut off, but not for himself. 40:42 And the people of the prince 40:43 that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary, 40:47 and the end thereof shall be with the flood, 40:48 and unto the end of the war desolations are determined." 40:52 In other words, sometime after the crucifixion, 40:54 the cutting off of the Messiah Jesus Christ, 40:56 that sanctuary would be destroyed once again, 40:59 it was destroyed in A.D. 70 by the Roman armies. 41:02 And so this prophecy is pointing 41:03 to the other destruction of the temple 41:07 during that time. 41:08 And then notice what it says in verse 27. 41:11 "And he shall confirm the covenant 41:14 with many for" how long? 41:17 Now here's the question. 41:19 Who is he that confirms the covenant 41:21 with the Jewish nation for one more week? 41:25 It's not antichrist, friends. 41:27 It's the one that made the covenant 41:28 to begin with, it's Jesus Christ. 41:31 How do we know? Because the Bible tells us so. 41:34 Malachi 3:1 tells us that the messenger 41:37 of the covenant is the Lord Himself. 41:39 Malachi 3:1 says that "the Lord whom ye seek, 41:42 shall suddenly come to his temple, 41:44 even the messenger of the..." do you remember 41:47 when Jesus began his public ministry? 41:49 He confined His ministry to the Israelite nation. 41:52 He said I'll not come 41:53 except unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel. 41:55 He spent most of his time with Jews, why? 41:57 Because they had one week left. 42:01 So He's confirming the covenant. 42:02 It's still good, He's pleading, 42:04 He's working with His people seeking to draw them 42:07 into Himself confirming the covenant. 42:10 In fact, notice in the Book of Romans 15:8 42:12 write it down it says, "Now I say that Jesus Christ" 42:16 not antichrist, but Jesus Christ 42:18 was a minister to the circumcision. 42:20 Do you know who the circumcision is? 42:22 That just a word that denotes the Jews. 42:25 "A minister to the circumcision 42:26 for the truth of God, to" what is that word? 42:29 "Confirm the promises." 42:31 Friends, what is another word for promise? 42:33 Covenant. 42:35 He's confirming the covenant, friends. 42:36 It's not antichrist, it's Jesus Christ. 42:39 He's confirming the promises made to the fathers. 42:41 He's doing it, friends, in the 70th week, 42:43 7 year period working with the people of God, 42:46 but then the Bible says, 42:47 "He shall confirm the covenant with many for one week 42:50 and in the" when? 42:51 "Middle of the week he" talking about Jesus 42:54 "will bring on end" to what? 42:58 "Sacrifice." 42:59 So in the middle of that 70th week Christ will put an end 43:04 to the sacrificial offering services. 43:06 This is referring to the sacrifice 43:08 of Himself on the cross. 43:11 He said on the cross, my God, my God, 43:14 why have you forsaken me? 43:16 He was cut off but not for himself 43:18 because he never sin before, 43:20 He was cutoff for you and me, friends. 43:23 He took our sins and was cut off, why? 43:26 So that we could be reconcile back to God. 43:30 This prophecy is pointing to the cross, friends. 43:33 He was cut off. That's a judgment expression. 43:37 He took our judgment upon Himself 43:41 so that we can live forever. 43:43 Oh, how many were thankful for Jesus? 43:45 He was cut off in the middle of the week, 43:48 three and half years and at the middle of the week 43:51 He would put on end to sacrifice of an offering. 43:52 What does this mean? 43:53 Remember, when Jesus were on the cross, 43:55 what was one of the last things He said, "It is finished." 44:01 What is finished? 44:03 Sacrifices and offerings complete. 44:05 It's done. I'm the one true sacrifice. 44:07 In other words, friends, this prophecy tells us 44:10 that in the middle of the 70th week 44:12 Christ the Messiah would bring an end 44:14 to the sacrificial system and you remember, 44:16 friends, when He was on the cross 44:18 He breathe His last, He said, it is finished. 44:21 And first the very moment Jesus died, 44:25 guess what happened? 44:26 The Bible tells us in Mark 15:38 44:28 that the veil of the temple was torn from top to bottom." 44:32 Not bottom to top 44:33 because the human hand could have done that. 44:34 It was torn from top to bottom 44:36 showing that God himself put an end 44:39 to those sacrificial offering and services. 44:40 Why? 44:41 Because the purpose of those things was to point us 44:44 to the true Lamb of God, Jesus Christ. 44:47 Can you say amen? And guess what day it was. 44:50 It was the day of the Passover. 44:53 And it was at the ninth hour 44:55 that the Passover lamb was to be slain on that day. 44:59 Jesus hung on the cross into the ninth hour. 45:03 And, friends, at the very hour that the lamb was to be slain, 45:07 Jesus said it is finished, He died, 45:09 a great earthquake took place 45:11 and it shook the knife from the priest hands 45:13 and that little barnyard animal could go free. 45:16 He doesn't have to die anymore. 45:18 Why doesn't he have to die anymore? 45:19 Why is his blood not necessary? 45:21 Because at that very moment there was another lamb out 45:25 on Mount Calvary on an old rugged cross 45:29 who were spilling His blood at the very moment. 45:34 Jesus, friends, the demands of the law are satisfied. 45:39 Type is meeting anti type. 45:41 The sanctuary services are finished. 45:43 Sacrifices and offerings are seizing 45:45 in the middle of that 70th week 45:47 and because of His shed blood 45:49 you and I in honor to be forgiven, 45:51 no longer have to slain little innocent animal. 45:53 All we have to do is get on our knees and say, 45:56 Lord Jesus forgive me I've made mistakes in my life. 46:00 I've sinned much, 46:02 blaspheming the name of limped a life of lies, 46:04 please have mercy upon me O God, 46:06 and Jesus applies not the blood of bulls or goats 46:09 but His own precious blood and because of that 46:13 we can come boldly to the thrown of grace, 46:17 to obtain mercy and find help in our time of need. 46:20 Can you say amen? 46:21 Oh, friends, this is good news, this is good news. 46:25 "These versus predicted the Messiah 46:27 would die by crucifixion on the fourteenth day 46:29 of the first Jewish month in the year A.D. 31." 46:32 And now did He die right year 46:34 and the right month and the right day, 46:36 but the exact hour, friends? 46:38 The ninth hour Jesus said, it is finished 46:41 and He died sacrificing offering seize. 46:44 And friends, it's interesting that Satan has taken 46:47 such a beautiful Christ centered prophecy. 46:52 And he calls people to apply to the antichrist. 46:56 But, friends, it's pointing us to Jesus Christ. 46:59 Amen? 47:00 Now, friends, listen if it's true 47:02 that the 70th week applies in the future? 47:06 Guess what? 47:07 That means, that man that died wasn't the Messiah. 47:14 If this 70th week applies to the future that means, 47:17 He was just a man that shed his blood 47:19 and if that's the case we have no hope. 47:24 That means, we're lost. 47:27 But I'm so grateful that this 70th week 47:30 applies to Jesus and assures us tonight 47:33 that He is the true Messiah and the Savior of the world. 47:36 Can you say amen? Amen. 47:38 Let's review what we've just discovered. 47:40 We're talking about the 70 weeks of probation 47:42 beginning in 457 at the decree that Artaxerxes he's made 47:45 to give the Jews permission to rebuilt their temple. 47:47 69 prophetic weeks later brings us to the-- 47:49 of the time of anointing to Messiah in A.D. 27. 47:53 Now we have one prophetic week, seven literal years 47:55 but in the middle of that week Christ the Messiah would bring 47:59 an end to sacrifice and offering, 48:00 He would be cut off on Calvary's cross. 48:02 And now how many years do we have left in the 70 weeks? 48:06 Three and half years left until it would come to an end 48:11 on probation would be closed upon the Israelite nation 48:14 if they not make an end to their sins. 48:16 And, friends, do you remember 48:18 when Jesus resurrected from the grave, 48:20 what did He tell His disciples? 48:21 He said to them in Acts 1:8, "Go to Jerusalem first, 48:25 then Judea, then Samarian, 48:27 then all the uttermost past of the world." 48:29 Whey did He say to go to Jerusalem first? 48:31 Because they only had three and half years left, friends. 48:34 So go to my people first, the covenant is still good. 48:36 Plead with them, but, friends, three and half years passed 48:40 and yet the nation of God still did not believe 48:45 and accept the Messiah. 48:47 So "According to this prophecy 48:48 God's covenant with the Jewish nation 48:50 would end in the year A.D. 34." 48:52 And, friends, what event marked it final completion? 48:55 What brought it to an end? 48:57 You can read it in the Book of Acts Chapter 7, 48:59 Stephen the deacon, listen now, 49:01 he is preaching to the Jewish hierarchy. 49:03 And he's basically going-- if he study that sermon, 49:06 he is retracing the history of the covenant. 49:09 You read it, friends, in Acts Chapter 7 49:11 he's going to the history of the covenant 49:13 and this is a typical covenant lawsuit. 49:16 He is bringing an indictment before the Jewish nation, 49:19 the hierarchy, the religious leaders of Israel. 49:23 It's an indictment against him for crucifying the Messiah 49:27 and that's the reason why they were so angry 49:29 on what he said, they rushed upon him 49:31 and they began to stone Stephen to death 49:34 openly and corporately rejecting the message 49:37 and silencing the messenger of God. 49:39 And, friends, you study in Acts 7, 49:41 as Stephen has been stoned, 49:42 the heavens were open and he saw Jesus standing. 49:49 Friends, I'm so grateful, that no matter what man does 49:52 God will stand for us, amen. 49:54 But you know, what happens? 49:55 You know, the significance of God standing? 49:58 Do you know why He stands? He stands to judge. 50:02 The Bible says in Isaiah 3:13, the Lord stands up to plead, 50:05 and stands to judge the people." 50:08 That's what happened at the stoning of Stephen, 50:10 the Lord was standing at the right hand of God, 50:12 judgment, brothers and sisters, probation is closed. 50:15 What happened at the end of 70 weeks? 50:17 Number one, Stephen is stoned for preaching Christ. 50:19 Number two, the Jewish leaders reject the Gospel corporately. 50:22 Number three immediately after that 50:24 the gospel was going like wildfire to the Gentiles. 50:26 You read Acts Chapter 7, 50:27 now the Samaritans are accepting the gospel. 50:30 You read Acts Chapter 9 and 10, 50:31 the Apostle Paul is converted as an apostles to the Gentiles 50:34 and now the Gentiles are being filled with the Holy Spirit, 50:37 it's a clear transition for the sisters. 50:39 We see it through the Bible it's being prophesied 50:41 and confirmed by Jesus. 50:44 Now we go back to the larger context of the 2,300 days. 50:50 The first part of it, 70 prophetic weeks 490 years 50:54 cut off given to the Jewish nation. 50:56 It began in 457 BC, 50:58 it concluded in 34 AD at the stoning of Stephen 51:01 and now how many years do we have left? 51:03 1,810 years. 51:06 So now all we've to do is add 1,810 to 34 51:10 and you have the exact year 51:13 where the hour of God's judgment will begin 51:16 and the cleansing of the heavenly sanctuary 51:19 would commence. 51:21 And, friends, it brings us to the year 1844. 51:23 Friends, do you realize what the Bible is saying? 51:26 "Since the year 1844 according to time prophecy 51:28 we have been living and what the Bible calls, 51:31 the hour of God's judgment." 51:34 It was in this time that Jesus are heavily high priest 51:37 would begin his special cleansing work 51:40 in the sanctuary above blotting out the record of sin, 51:43 bringing the full atonement, brothers and sisters. 51:45 And so we find-- we don't know 51:47 when Jesus is gonna finish the work 51:49 because no man knows the exact day 51:51 or hour of His coming. 51:52 Can you say amen? Amen. 51:55 But according to this prophecy it must be soon. 51:58 Seconds are ticking away at the clock of time. 52:01 This is the proverbial, too minute warning, 52:03 Jesus wants us to know that there is no time to waste, 52:06 that we must get serious, 52:07 every decision we make must be made with the end of mind. 52:11 Seconds are ticking away at the prophetic time clock. 52:13 The redemption story is almost finished 52:17 and tonight we need to make a decision to be 52:18 on the winning team before it's too late. 52:20 Can you say amen? 52:21 We must live with the sense of urgency, friends, 52:24 because Jesus is about to come 52:26 and as we get little close tonight, 52:27 how shall we respond to God's judgment message. 52:31 Listen, friends, not with fear because it's not scary, 52:34 with great anticipation, excitement and joy 52:39 because judgment is good news. 52:41 Why? 52:42 Let me give you a few other reasons. 52:44 Hebrews 7:25, the Bible says, 52:47 "Wherefore he is able" let's read it together. 52:51 "He is able also to save them to the uttermost 52:56 that come unto God by him, 52:58 seeing he ever lives to make intercession for them." 53:02 Friends, we learn tonight that Jesus not only died for us 53:06 but He ever lives for us in the sanctuary above 53:10 as our great high priest, as our heavenly lawyer. 53:14 And then it says in 1 John Chapter 2:1 53:16 "My little children, 53:17 these things I write to you, that you sin not. 53:21 And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father". 53:27 What's his name? Jesus Christ the righteous. 53:30 Oh, friends, you don't have to be afraid of judgment. 53:32 He's an advocate, 53:33 that would advocate means lawyer or attorney. 53:35 And, friends, he is a good attorney. 53:37 His fees are very cheap. It's free, friends. 53:43 He offers His services as our attorney for free. 53:47 And by the way He's a lawyer that has never lost a case 53:52 no matter how bad your case, 53:54 your life, your situation may be, 53:56 you give it to the hands of Jesus 53:58 and you will never lose. 54:01 A lawyer that has never lost a case. 54:04 And by the way it gets even better. 54:06 Check this for yourself. 54:07 In John 5:22 the Bible tells us 54:10 Jesus speaking "For the Father judges no one, 54:13 but has committed all judgment to the" Son. 54:16 Wow. 54:17 Friends, God the Father, the ancient of days 54:19 sits on the throne presiding as the judge 54:21 but He judges all through his Son. 54:23 In other words, the Father says, 54:25 whatever you think, Jesus, 54:27 you're the one that walked in their shoes, 54:29 you're the one that was tempted 54:30 and more points like as-- as they were. 54:35 Friends, how you would like to have a judge 54:40 who is also your lawyer? You can't lose, friends. 54:46 Amen. Amen. 54:48 Fear not the judgment of God, 54:51 just surrender your case to Jesus. 54:55 The judge will always listen to the Son, you know, why? 54:57 Because they have a father, son relationship. 55:01 They trust each other. 55:03 Tonight, let's put our lives 55:08 and trust our lives to Jesus. 55:12 All we have to do friends, 55:13 is stand in the shadow of His perfection. 55:17 If we are to stand by ourselves in the judgment, 55:20 we wouldn't have been able to stand 55:21 but with Jesus, the Son of Man 55:25 we will pass the judgment with confidence. 55:28 First, tonight, we've covered lot of information. 55:32 I don't expect for you to remember 55:33 everything you've heard but 55:34 let me summarize everything with just two points. 55:37 How many of you think you can remember two points? 55:40 You think you do that? 55:42 Here's the two points we take on tonight. 55:44 Number one, according to prophecy 55:46 "Since the year 1844 we've been living 55:48 in what the Bible calls the hour of God's judgment. 55:52 We need to live with the sense of urgency, 55:54 Jesus is coming again. 55:56 And then the second and point which is even more important. 55:59 Don't be afraid, folks. 56:01 Don't be afraid of judgment because we have a lawyer 56:05 that has never lost a case. 56:07 How many of think you remember that? 56:09 Oh, friends, you can set in the details 56:10 and if you have questions come tomorrow night, 56:12 those will be answered or you can ask me. 56:16 But as we close tonight, how shall we respond? 56:18 What do we need to do in light of the hour of God's judgment? 56:21 Well, friends, do you remember 56:22 what the people did on the outside of the sanctuary 56:25 during the Day of Atonement? 56:27 What were they doing? 56:29 They were working in harmony with the high priest. 56:34 In the same way now that we know where Jesus is 56:39 and now that we know what Jesus is doing for us? 56:42 As long as we keep our eyes in Jesus, 56:44 now we can work in harmony with Him. 56:46 How so? 56:47 As the priest was cleansing the sanctuary 56:49 what were the people doing? 56:50 Cleansing the soul sanctuary by confession, repentance, 56:56 searching their hearts, afflicting their souls. 57:00 And so what are we need to do? 57:02 We need to say Lord, search me, search my heart, oh, God. 57:08 Lord, what is in my life that is causing You pain, 57:10 whatever it is remove it. 57:14 And here is the prayer that we need to pray tonight. 57:16 My last verse, psalms 139:23, 24. 57:22 It's a prayer that we need to pray. 57:24 And let's read it together, 57:25 as we read it let's pray, shall we? 57:28 The Bible says, "Search me O God, and know my heart. 57:34 Try me and know my thoughts. 57:36 And see if there be any wicked way in me, 57:40 and lead me in the way everlasting." 57:45 The reason why we need to pray this prayer 57:48 is because the heart is deceitful above all things. 57:51 Sometimes we can be like Peter saying to Jesus, Lord, 57:54 I'm ready to die for you, but before the night was over 57:58 he was denying Christ three times. 57:59 Friends, we don't know our hearts, 58:03 that's why we pray Lord, search my heart. 58:07 Is this your prayer tonight? 58:09 Friends, before the throne of God above 58:14 we have a strong and perfect plea, 58:16 a great high priest whose name is love, 58:19 whoever lives and pleads for Me, 58:22 My name is written on His hands. 58:26 It's engraving in his heart and I know you can know it 58:30 that while in heaven he stands, 58:33 no tongue can bid us their departs. |
