One. 10:35 So something terrible is going on here. 10:38 We're finding the introduction of polygamy, why? 10:41 Now, something else, and I'm going to do a little 10:43 speculation, I like sometimes--we do a little 10:46 sanctified speculation, which tells you 10:48 that I can't necessarily prove what I'm 10:50 going to say next, but I think it's logical. 10:54 Lamech does a poem where he actually brags 10:59 about the fact that he killed a man. 11:03 First of all, we have the polygamy, 11:05 and then we have the fact that he killed a man, 11:08 he said, who wounded him, and he's basically 11:11 kind of boasting about it. 11:14 Cain, his great-great-great-whatever 11:16 grandfather killed a man, his own brother. 11:20 So what's going on here? 11:22 Here's what I suspect is going on 11:25 and why it's important for the warning. 11:30 This Lamech may have got into a conflict with 11:35 this man because he took his wife by force. 11:42 If you read "Patriarchs and Prophets," you'll 11:44 find that the antediluvian world descended into violence. 11:48 You'll find it in scripture. 11:49 God said there was violence everywhere. 11:51 The intentions of everybody's mind 11:54 was evil, selfish continually. 11:57 If he took this man's wife by force and they got in conflict, 12:02 that is one of the reasons why we see 12:06 the deterioration in the antediluvian world. 12:08 I'm going to come back to that, 12:09 but now I want to flashback to chapter 6. 12:12 In chapter 6 we find verse 2. 12:16 "That the sons of God--" by the way, the book that was 12:19 advertised, you want that book, because there's a lot of 12:22 information around today that tells you a 12:26 whole different story, but it's not true. 12:28 The sons of God and the sons of man are just the two lines that 12:31 were established, one by Seth, those who were faithful to God, 12:35 they're the sons of God, and the one 12:37 established by Cain, they're the sons of men. 12:41 "The sons of God saw the daughters 12:42 of men that they were beautiful." 12:44 So what's going on here? 12:46 Hello, Samson, wasn't there anybody, weren't there any 12:49 Israelite women that were lovely and beautiful? 12:52 Why did you have to go to the Philistines? 12:55 Why Delilah? 12:59 We can say that with the sons of God. 13:02 Why descendants of Seth? 13:04 Aren't there any lovely women, good women? 13:07 Why in the world are you going to the daughters of Cain? 13:13 This comes down to where we have to understand the warning, and 13:17 the warning becomes personal to all of us. 13:20 When God created us, He created us with 13:22 massive, marvelous, wonderful gifts. 13:26 He created us with the gifts of pleasure. 13:29 How many of you enjoy eating? I know the answer to that. 13:36 He gave us the joy of marriage and intimacy. 13:40 He gave us the joy to be able to plan and execute. 13:43 He gave us all kinds of opportunities to find pleasure, 13:48 but He also gave us something else. 13:51 He gave us self-control, and self-control that comes from God 13:58 himself. 14:02 The very basis of our existence according to Jesus is 14:06 to love--and Moses--is to love the Lord with all your heart, 14:09 your soul, your mind, your strength. 14:12 Why would you want to love this God? 14:14 Because this God is a God of unselfish love, and without 14:18 unselfish love, life cannot exist. 14:23 Mark it down. That's what this is all about. 14:27 The great controversy between Christ 14:29 and Satan was this whole issue. 14:31 Satan says, "I can be selfish and still live," 14:34 and God says, "You cannot. 14:37 That's why I gave my law, is because the law puts a fence 14:40 around unselfish love and keeps us out of selfishness. 14:44 It guards everybody else's right to happiness. 14:51 So here's the tragedy. This is the line of Seth. 14:58 They mix it up with women from Cain who have this same concept 15:04 as Lucifer of selfishness, of unrestrained pleasure. 15:10 By the way, you take a gift of God--regardless of what it 15:15 is--that He gave us for pleasure, and you turn that gift 15:21 into lust by using it without restraint. 15:34 And so, what did this cause? It caused a huge apostasy. 15:38 This is the tragedy. 15:40 We know Cain's descendants were in apostasy, 15:44 but now we have the descendants of Seth. 15:53 God raises up Noah because He finds him 15:56 the only righteous man that He can trust. 15:58 Now, I'm not saying there are not other people, but when we 16:02 come to the tragedy of the flood, you have to understand, 16:06 we have to understand that many of the people that died in that 16:10 flood were the brothers, perhaps sisters, perhaps nieces, 16:15 nephews, cousins, the close relatives of Noah himself, 16:23 because they had gone into apostasy. 16:31 And with that, God 16:33 begins to say something, and it's a warning to all of us. 16:38 Look at verse 5 if you have your Bibles. 16:41 "And then the Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great--" 16:45 you can look at the descendants of Seth, you can look at the 16:47 descendants of Cain--"great in the earth, and that every 16:52 intent and thought of the heart was only evil continually. 17:01 I don't know that I need to try to describe 17:06 the horribleness, the abominations of 17:13 the antediluvian world, but I will tell you this. 17:18 If you start looking around and you start looking at what's 17:22 happening in our world, you are going to see 17:25 a reflection of why God destroyed that world. 17:31 We do not understand either the seriousness 17:36 of sin or the mighty love of God. 17:41 You can only destroy the power of sin 17:46 by destroying the love of sin. 17:54 I just mentioned it, but I want to re-underline this because 17:58 people get angry at God about the flood. 18:02 They say, "God, why? 18:04 How can you destroy every living being? 18:10 How can you do that? 18:14 Men, women, children, and the animals, how can you do that?" 18:24 Because we don't understand the power of sin 18:31 and what it does to human beings. 18:34 Let me share with you what I mean. 18:38 Now, God loved that race. 18:39 That's why He raised up Noah and built the ark for 120 years. 18:44 Noah was a mighty preacher of righteousness, and everything he 18:47 had went into that ark, and when he built that on dry land, it 18:52 was a testimony that God meant what He said, 18:55 and had they repented, God would have spared 18:58 them the flood like He spared Nineveh. 19:06 We have to understand this awfulness of sin. 19:11 The issue is not whether sin can be forgiven by the blood of 19:13 Christ, the issue is that sin hardness our hearts 19:18 so that we don't want forgiveness. 19:22 And we have to understand that that world headed toward a 19:25 close of human probation and that we--this world is headed 19:31 once again to a close of human probation. 19:38 We are looking at our world today where the entertainment 19:43 industry, the media industry, and the list goes on, they're 19:50 actually under the control of demonic forces that want not 19:56 only to take over the adults, but the young 19:59 people and the children, and the people 20:02 responsible for that are their parents. 20:10 Some years ago, I was speaking somewhere, and I said to a 20:14 group--this was a long time ago-- 20:17 and it's 1,000 times worse today. 20:21 When I jump on my app phone and they send up their 20:26 advertisements, it's just a bunch of demonic stuff, the 20:29 games that people are playing today, you just do the list, 20:36 but I said, how many of you let your kids 20:38 listen to higher--Harry Potter stuff? 20:42 Everything got quiet quick. 20:46 I said, "Listen, that is put together to do one thing, and 20:49 that's to bring demon possession into your children." 20:55 And this whole thing is being schemed to do that. 20:59 You can come to the place where there is no possible way that 21:04 you can save anybody, including the children, 21:08 because they've been so utterly corrupted. 21:13 We have to understand the awfulness of sin. 21:16 And that's what happened in the antediluvian world, 21:18 that God tried everything He could to save them, and He's 21:22 doing everything He can to save this generation, but a 21:26 close of human probation is on its way. 21:31 Now, I want to say this. 21:32 If you love the Lord Jesus this morning, and I believe you do or 21:34 you wouldn't be here, you wouldn't be watching, if you 21:38 love the Lord Jesus, you have a responsibility and I have a 21:41 responsibility to do everything we can to bring people to a 21:45 Savior who has the power not only 21:47 to forgive but to transform, and 21:51 that power was available to the antediluvian world. 21:55 They understood the sacrifices. 21:57 There was no excuse--I'm, you know, they had all their bright 22:00 people back then too, but I just want to underline, the first 22:06 thing is the warning, and God is warning not because He's trying 22:10 to be mean, not because He wants a flood, not because He wants 22:15 the destruction of the wicked, in fact, I think I've asked this 22:21 question as I've talked about the end of time, as I've talked 22:24 about the destruction of the wicked, the fact is, the book of 22:28 Revelation says that God dries our tears. 22:31 My question is who dries God's tears? 22:40 One person put that the flood was simply 22:41 God drowning the world in His tears. 22:47 He didn't want the antediluvian world to perish. 22:50 He wanted to save it, but he will not 22:55 take away your freedom of choice. 22:59 He will not take away the freedom of parents, and our 23:04 world is fast becoming like the antediluvian world. 23:11 I believe there will be a lot of people saved in the end of time, 23:14 and we need to do everything we can to assist the 23:17 Lord Jesus in that because it--He invested, 23:19 by the way, everything He had in Calvary. 23:23 I tell people, when you go and look in God's treasure house, 23:26 you'll find it's empty, because when He emptied out His only 23:30 begotten Son, there was nothing left to give. 23:36 He's invested in us. 23:38 He's invested in our happiness, and He was invested in the 23:42 antediluvian world, but when the warnings finally come to an end, 23:50 there comes a place where mercy folds her wings. 24:04 They didn't believe him. You know the story. 24:07 Think of the tragedy. Noah wasn't happy. 24:11 I think Noah was in weeping as that storm came because he knew 24:14 it was not only the descendants of Cain, but his own relatives. 24:21 I don't have a long time to get into the flood, but by the way, 24:24 if you want to find and look at some of the scientific things 24:26 that have happened, there's some really good minds out there that 24:30 are seeing the evidence and are applying it to Noah's flood. 24:34 If you look at Answers in Genesis, 24:36 you can find it, I think, on YouTube, it's free. 24:39 Genesis apologetics, they have about a 20-minute thing that 24:42 shows you a really good picture of what happened at the flood. 24:47 The scripture is very clear, that God was going to rain for 24:53 40 days and 40 nights, and then it says something very 24:55 interesting, that he broke up the foundations 24:59 of the deep, the great foundations of the deep. 25:03 This is when we come to judgment. 25:05 Mercy folds its wings. Noah is put into that ark. 25:09 That mighty door is shut, I believe, by an angel of God. 25:13 Noah is shut in by God Himself. 25:16 By the way, when human probation closes--I don't have a lot of 25:19 time to talk about this--but when human probation closes, 25:23 dear ones, we want to be shut in by the grace of God. 25:30 We want to be shut in by the Holy Spirit. 25:34 We will be protected during that time, but before we get to that 25:38 time, our hearts must be utterly surrendered, not 90%, 25:42 not 99%, but 100% to the Lord Jesus. 25:47 A lot of people love the Lord Jesus as long as 25:49 they can keep 10%, but the scripture says you must 25:54 love Him with how much of your heart? 25:57 Yeah, every bit of it, and that's my appeal. 26:00 So, let's talk about the judgments of God. 26:04 So here we have--the ark is all built, Noah is in, 26:10 people are laughing and mocking. 26:12 These are Noah's relatives. 26:17 All the scientific people have told him, 26:19 "Oh, it's not going to happen, it's never--" they, you know, 26:22 everybody today--science is the new god, have you noticed? 26:29 I'm going to say it clearly. 26:32 I say it kind of--as Christians of faith, men and women of 26:35 faith, as Christians we're not against science. 26:39 We just don't believe it's God. 26:42 We believe that God is in charge of science and that 26:46 true science is not going to contradict him. 26:49 There may be mysteries that we don't understand. 26:51 There always will be. 26:56 The fountains of the great deep were broken up. 27:00 If you look at the earth like a baseball, you'll find 27:04 that the baseball has seams all around it. 27:07 You know that clearly. 27:08 If you look at the earth, you'll find those seams in the trenches 27:12 in these mighty oceans that we have, because 27:15 the earth was all of one great land mass with 27:19 lakes and shores and so forth, pretty huge. 27:21 They call it Pangea, whatever, but when the flood 27:24 came, it just broke the continents up. 27:28 Now, they'll tell you that these continents 27:29 have drifted over zillions of years. 27:32 Not true, it drifted and came to what we see today in the flood, 27:37 and if you look at some of these references that I 27:38 gave you, you'll see how that works. 27:42 In fact, as you look at these beautiful mountains 27:44 of the Sierras, the Sierras are part of the flood. 27:49 You're looking at the results of the flood, because what happened 27:52 is as these grounds of the great deep broke up and they sent 27:57 these--the water and the stones and the earth 28:02 and the debris up way into the atmosphere. 28:09 As that began to happen and as these--this, it began 28:12 to break the continents and they began to slide 28:15 away 5 miles an hour, sliding away. 28:19 That's what's creating these great oceans that we have, and 28:22 when these--and when it comes to rest, when it finally stops, 28:27 that is very powerful forces, and that's why you get the 28:31 mountains coming up on the east coast, on 28:34 the west coast, anywhere around the world. 28:37 So, some people have laughed at us when we talk 28:39 about Noah's flood, say, "Oh yeah, was the 28:41 water 15 meters above Mount Everest?" 28:43 Well, you might want to take a look 28:45 because Mount Everest has fossils on it. 28:50 It didn't need to go above Mount Everest. 28:52 The mountains of those days were much gentler, much nicer. 28:57 Mount Everest and all of these great mountains that we have 29:00 today, they came as a result of the collusion of these great 29:04 continents as a flood broke it up, and the mountains of the 29:09 great deep pushed them apart, and when you think about 29:16 that--they discover with all their oil drilling today, that 29:20 they was swept by about--this is my lay language here, they have 29:27 scientific language for it, but I call it, like, great tsunamis 29:32 that spread a layer of sediment, six of them, 29:38 and they're the same all over the world. 29:44 All the oil drilling, they have the bits, they bring 29:47 the cores up and they look at all of that. 29:52 We know right here in North America, the huge number, tens 29:57 of thousands, we don't really know the number, were buried in 30:01 Montana, and they weren't buried over time. 30:07 They weren't buried by a local flood. 30:11 There's no explanation for that except this worldwide flood. 30:14 The Grand Canyon was not cut over eons of time. 30:21 It was cut within a few days probably, maybe even less, 30:26 because the flood had left a huge lake in the inter part of 30:31 what we call the United States today. 30:33 It was blocked up probably by ice or whatever, and that broke, 30:37 and when it broke, it swept down just like--and we have a good 30:40 example of that in Mount Saint Helens today. 30:44 You can find the same thing. 30:45 By the way Mount Saint Helens has all the layers, 30:49 and they've done studies in Colorado, secular universities. 30:52 They talk about--they study layers. 30:54 If you've ever been to the beach and you've watched the shore 30:56 come up, you'll watch it and it'll settle out 30:59 in layers, and that's why you get the fossil 31:01 record the way you get the fossil record. 31:05 There's plenty of evidence, and the scripture is clear, nothing 31:13 from the land was left alive 31:18 except Noah, his family, 31:24 and the animals that were in the ark. 31:30 The final destruction, no living thing will be 31:37 left alive outside of that New Jerusalem. 31:43 It will be our ark, and there's nothing in that New Jerusalem 31:49 that's not in harmony with the love of God and the law of God. 31:57 I want to be inside that New Jerusalem, because what happens 32:00 on the outside of it is a tragedy, but it has to happen. 32:05 From God's love flows both His justice and his mercy, and He is 32:11 not going to allow--despite the Asian, Eastern religions that 32:16 talk about Yin, Yang and an eternal existence between good 32:20 and evil, in my best Southern English, it ain't so. 32:28 Evil will be destroyed, hallelujah. 32:34 All the misery and the suffering that we see everywhere that 32:37 we're involved in, immersed in ourselves, it's all going to 32:42 disappear, and we will be ushered into a new age of love 32:47 and grace and opportunities such as we cannot even dream, all 32:53 made possible by the blood of Christ and the 32:55 Resurrection morning of God who loves us, who 32:58 gave His only begotten Son for us. 33:02 They can not tell me that God is mean or arbitrary. 33:05 He's only doing what's got to be done, 33:07 and He's reluctant to do it. 33:15 That's the judgment. 33:18 That's the judgment of Noah's day, and it's the judgment of 33:21 our day, will be, because we're in the same part. 33:27 Now, the wonderful thing, if you look at Genesis--in Genesis 8, 33:32 verse 1, it says--if you have your Bibles, 33:36 turn there--Genesis 8, verse 1. 33:39 "Then God remembered." I love that word. 33:44 Doesn't mean that He was just--it was just an 33:46 intellectual thing, it was that when God remembers, God acts, 33:51 and when you trace it through scripture, 33:52 God acts with mercy, with great mercy. 33:58 God remembered Noah and the ark and now He, 34:01 the waters--God reverses this whole thing. 34:03 He's flooded the earth, He's announced judgment, but now He 34:08 turns it around, and He begins to drain the waters off of the 34:13 earth, and He's going to bring Noah and his family out. 34:17 Now I want to come to the final one, 34:21 and that's the rainbow. 34:28 The rainbow. 34:30 Noah comes out of that ark. He sacrifices. 34:34 Now, many people will say that's 34:36 an offering of thanksgiving, and it was. 34:38 I'm not here to argue that, but Noah understood the sacrifice. 34:44 He understood that that would point 34:45 forward to a Messiah that would come. 34:47 He understood that the hope of the human race 34:50 was in what that sacrifice symbolized. 34:54 He understood that there was a promise made to Eve, and that 34:59 promise was that one of her children--the seed of the 35:07 woman--trying to get that back--the seed of the woman, a 35:11 man would come and he would reverse all of this curse and 35:16 the difficulties that we find ourselves facing in this world. 35:24 Are you hearing what I hear? 35:27 Okay, I know there are people controlling this thing, so 35:29 they'll have to work on the background noise there, 35:33 but I don't want you to miss this. 35:34 Don't worry about the background noise, I'm louder than it is, 35:41 because I don't want to miss this. 35:43 So, he comes out and he makes this sacrifice. 35:46 Now, the Bible says that it was a sweet savor. 35:50 I said, "How can that be a sweet savor? 35:54 When God smells it, why is God happy? 35:57 After all, it's a sacrifice." 36:01 Well, I went back and I ran this, and you'll find that in 36:05 the Old Testament--actually, it's really a fast forward 36:08 because it's after the time of Noah, but they say that 36:12 when they offer the sacrifices in the 36:14 sanctuary, it was a sweet savor, why? 36:19 Why does God take delight in that sacrifice? 36:22 I tell you why, it's because it pointed forward to the time 36:26 when His Son would come to Calvary's cross. 36:28 He didn't take delight in the death of His Son, but He was 36:31 glad, and His Son was willing to go to give that gift to us in 36:36 order that He might redeem us and put sin out of the universe 36:39 because God is getting ready to do something marvelous. 36:42 He's getting ready to have an eternity where 36:45 we're both free and sinless, and it's a 36:50 sacrifice that accomplishes that. 36:54 In the two minutes I have left, I want to 36:55 talk about the rainbow. 36:59 The reason I know that--one reason I know that we're living 37:01 in the end of time is because the most abominable perversions, 37:06 whether it's heterosexual or whether it's the other kind of 37:09 perversions described in Romans chapter 1, 37:13 they had chosen the rainbow as their symbol. 37:18 They are shaking their fists in the face of God. 37:22 They're saying, "It doesn't matter," 37:24 and we have a world--it's not just that-- 37:26 we have a world that's in rebellion. 37:30 The scientific world is in rebellion. 37:33 They see all the evidence but don't 37:34 let a divine foot in the door. 37:39 Let me tell you, every time you see that rainbow, that rainbow 37:45 is a promise that Jesus is able to save us from the guttermost 37:51 to the uttermost, that he is able and powerful enough to 37:56 transform us and make new creatures out of us. 38:00 He is powerful enough, that rainbow says, not only to 38:03 forgive my sins and to cover them and wipe them clean, but 38:08 he's also able to make a new creature out of me that can live 38:12 for eternity in an earth made new. 38:18 That rainbow is also another symbol. 38:28 God destroyed the antediluvian world for their sins. 38:36 He's going to do it again. God's no respecter of persons. 38:44 Just because we're the United States of America, just because 38:47 we live in this world, just because we have all these 38:48 scientists doesn't make us special. 38:55 What he did then he will be forced to do again, 39:03 but I want to tell you the good news. 39:06 It's in the rainbow. 39:09 The rainbow is our hope of everlasting life. 39:18 Doug: You know, I'd like to just close off 39:20 our Sabbath school time with prayer, and 39:21 then we have something very special. 39:23 You know, the Bible says the last words of Jesus should be 39:27 the first priority of believers to go, to teach, to meet 39:30 disciples, to baptize, and we're going to enter into a baptism. 39:35 So, let's just have prayer right now. 39:37 Loving Lord, we just thank you so 39:38 much for the study of the Word. 39:40 We thank you so much for the presence that we 39:43 sense here right now of the Holy Spirit. 39:45 I pray that you will be in every heart and mind, 39:48 including that we are able to witness 42:25 people giving their lives to Jesus. 42:28 That's what we do here. 42:30 That is the purpose of this place. 42:31 It's to lead people to Jesus. 42:33 A few he wanted to be baptized. 42:48 We studied together for a while, and through the time that I was 42:52 able to study with Eldar and go through a booklet that I gave 42:55 him, and we went through a few other deep subjects. 42:58 It was very clear to see that Eldar 43:00 is an intelligent, intelligent young man. 43:04 Eldar is from the Ukraine. 43:06 His family is there right now, so we 43:08 continue to ask prayer for them. 43:10 His father's name is Dennis. 43:11 His mother's name is Natalia, and his sister's name is 43:14 Yeva, hope I said that right, but they're going to be 43:16 watching this later on, but please keep them in prayer. 43:20 They have been through a lot and they 43:21 are still going through a lot. 43:23 Eldar has shared with me many moments where he's been 43:36 Jesus will be the center of your life, 43:38 and that is my prayer for you always, my friend. 43:41 And so, Eldar, for all these reasons, for the reason that you 43:44 have decided to give your life to Jesus, that you have 43:46 dedicated who you are, your future, your talents, your 43:49 skills to him, as a minister of this gospel following the orders 43:53 of the Master for the forgiveness
