00:02 we have been having a wonderful time here 00:04 on the 24-day challenge, 00:06 menu planning, meal balancing act. 00:09 It's been fun and you can see what we made here today, 00:12 I'm so excited because I like to keep it simple 00:15 and now we took it simpler to whole another level. 00:18 If you can see quickly what we've made here today, 00:20 we made the original smoothie, it was just the simple fruits 00:24 and you blend it up in your mouth, 00:27 and then we have granolas best kept secret, 00:30 we use the coconut milk now 00:33 to make this recipe all the way till you to taste the flavor, 00:37 it is amazing. 00:38 Then we've made to the easy breezy almond milk, 00:41 which goes ahead and builds those strong healthy bones 00:44 and so you can do that within a couple of minutes. 00:47 And you got to finish off your meals 00:49 with a handful of nuts, 00:50 so, we have the almonds, we have the sunflower seeds, 00:52 the Pistachios and pine nuts, 00:54 we'll talk about that here shortly. 00:56 But then lunch... 00:57 Something has to be fresh, 00:59 so, we went ahead and we made the simple, 01:01 sumptuous vibrant as we can see here, salad, 01:04 all you need is some beats and carrots and celery, 01:07 with a little sprinkle of lemon juice and sea salt. 01:10 And then we have my quickest, favorite meal, 01:16 as we see here the confetti couscous, 01:19 as you could see it looks like a party in that plate 01:21 and literally it'd be a party in our mouth. 01:24 And then you have to have that natural fat to finish that up 01:27 and so, we have the sautéed cashews, 01:30 who knew you can sauté(C) some cashews. 01:34 So these are the simple recipes that we made here 01:36 and I have our very own special guest, 01:40 Celestine, how are you? 01:41 Good, how are you doing, thanks for having me. 01:43 Good to have you on a show, 01:45 now watch these people think Nyse just be making up stuff, 01:48 he'd be saying it should be simple. 01:49 There is no way we can get all of these things 01:52 and just real quick, since they didn't believe me, 01:54 I have to bring on a professional, 01:56 very own dietician, registered, 01:59 a license, you name it, she did it. 02:01 So, Celestine, tell us real quick about yourself so, 02:04 since that I have a credibility, 02:05 may be you do, all right. 02:07 Tell us real quick, you are registered, 02:08 you are licensed, 02:10 what, how does that work as a dietician? 02:11 Well, basically we just work with lifestyle changes, 02:14 just what we do as in our real life, 02:16 which is helping individuals, families 02:19 which is my background for the last seven years, 02:21 working with families, children, 02:24 in the hospital setting 02:26 but also in the out-patient setting, 02:28 that's what we've done. 02:29 So the doctors literally call on you 02:31 to help put together some of those menu planning 02:34 and different items like that, 02:35 to help the patients, right, with diabetes, 02:37 all kinds of elements of diseases? 02:38 Absolutely, but they key is meeting them 02:41 where they are. 02:42 Yes. 02:43 So that does crucial and that's why we try, 02:45 what we try to do it and meet them where they're at 02:48 and keep it simple, yeah? 02:49 Absolutely. 02:51 So, any benefits from what we discussed here, 02:53 the three basic groups that we see here? 02:55 Any benefits when you are right 02:57 and now the menu plan, 02:59 as we see the three basic groups is what, 03:01 number one of us fresh, whether that be what...? 03:03 Fruits or vegetables? 03:05 Fruits or vegetable try your best 03:06 to keep your separate, number two was what? 03:08 It's the whole grain, 03:09 which is you can get those in the starches, also, 03:13 you know, nuts and beans 03:15 which is the third step, 03:16 that you need to have it and its having a balance 03:19 but you see what we said is meeting them where they are, 03:21 you come from a different background, 03:23 I come from a different background, 03:24 I can't prescribe for you with specific list of foods 03:28 that you have to eat and the beautiful thing is that 03:30 nature has a variety of fruits and vegetables and grains, 03:35 we can just kind of pick and choose as long as 03:37 we have the basic foundational principles. 03:40 And that's what it's all about, it's all about what, 03:42 those habits huh? 03:43 Absolutely. 03:44 And so that's what we are trying to incorporate 03:46 the use of the 24 Days to help you 03:47 put the well up those simple habits. 03:50 You heard it from me but now you heard it 03:51 from your own, very own dietician, 03:53 so see you next time. |
