00:01 Well, Fay,
00:02 time has practically come to an end. 00:04 But we had a wonderful time. 00:06 We did. I enjoyed it. 00:07 It was a lot of fun, wasn't it? Yeah, definitely. 00:09 You're a wonderful person to cook with. 00:11 You are so easy and... 00:12 So easy and sharp. Yeah. 00:13 And to learn how to make Mediterranean food. 00:17 Wow. 00:18 You bought some culture here... 00:20 I feel very blessed. 00:21 To 3ABN and you have somebody very special in your life. 00:27 I do. Yeah. 00:28 Your husband Dr. Lucas, 00:30 would you come on over, Dr. Lucas. 00:33 There you go. 00:34 Hello guys. 00:36 Hey. 00:37 Now you've been married for how long now? 00:39 Little over a year. 00:40 Yeah coming up about two years now. 00:42 Amen. Beautiful. 00:43 About two years. And you're both expecting. 00:46 Well, yeah, you actually are both expecting. 00:48 Yeah. 00:49 So a month after our second year anniversary. 00:52 Have you delivered babies yet, being a doctor? 00:54 I have. I have. 00:55 Yeah, we do that in family medicine. 00:57 In family medicine. Okay. 00:58 She has her own doctor on hand, just in case. 01:01 Yeah. 01:02 I'm gonna tap out on this one, 01:03 I'm not going to deliver, deliver this baby. 01:05 I don't know if he wants to see me 01:06 go through that but anyways. 01:08 No, it'll be too much. 01:09 Now, all the foods that we made here. 01:12 Do you have any favorites or all of them your favorites? 01:16 That's a hard question. They're all... 01:18 Is there one in particular you really like? 01:20 They're all so great. 01:23 But the one that I really loved from the very start 01:27 would be the babaghanoush though. 01:29 Ah, very good. 01:31 He has good taste. 01:33 And the way you met is absolutely beautiful. 01:36 You're gonna share with us, Fay, or Dr. Lucas? 01:39 Well, we met through mutual friends. 01:41 And then they just, 01:43 it was very organic the way it turned out. 01:45 It wasn't love at first sight. 01:47 But then as soon as it hit, it became very special. 01:50 And we just clicked instantly and it was wonderful. 01:53 You have great family values. 01:55 Why don't you share with our viewers and listeners? 01:57 Yeah, sure, I'd be happy to. 01:58 So I surprised him with a little condition 02:02 of us getting into a relationship, 02:04 which was that I made a promise to myself 02:07 when I was 14 that I was the first man I'd ever kiss 02:10 would be on my wedding day. 02:12 And that was a surprise to him when he first learned 02:16 of this crazy commitment I made, 02:18 but a lot of that had to do... 02:19 No one told me to do that. 02:21 It was a personal belief, 02:22 something between me and God 02:24 that I felt like I wanted to do. 02:25 I want him to be committed to something. 02:26 And he agreed to it and... 02:28 It's definitely shocking at first time. 02:30 It was shocking? 02:31 First time I heard of anyone making that stance. 02:33 Yeah. 02:35 To have my first kiss on the wedding day. 02:37 Yeah, but it really helped... So special. 02:39 It really helped us learn 02:41 each other's characters very quickly. 02:42 So in a matter of a few months, 02:44 there was just not that distraction. 02:46 And we were really focused on each other's personalities, 02:49 our characters, our weaknesses, our strengths. 02:51 It really helped us kind of hone in on that area. 02:54 How did you handle that, Dr. Lucas? 02:58 So do you mind if I share how I felt then? 02:59 Go for it. 03:01 So it was pretty earlier on when we were dating. 03:04 It's like our third date. 03:06 I tried to kiss her 03:08 and then she just turns away and I was like, 03:10 "Oh, I definitely ruined this one, 03:13 she's not into me. 03:15 And then I basically called my sister out, 03:18 I'm like, "Okay, I don't think I'm ever seeing him again." 03:20 Because I had to tell him at that moment, 03:22 without like preparation that 03:23 "Okay, it's not that don't take it personally. 03:25 It's just... 03:26 Okay, I've never kissed anyone in my life." 03:28 And he just kind of stared at me like he had seen a ghost 03:30 and I'm like, and I explained, 03:32 "Well, you see, I made this commitment 03:34 and then when I left I thought I'm never seeing him again. 03:37 Or that he might not be interested. 03:38 And I thought it was the most unusual way 03:40 to get broken up by somebody too. 03:42 And look at you today. 03:43 Yeah, praise God. God is so good. 03:45 Yeah. Praise God. 03:46 Well, we have to get into the food that was made 03:48 for the sake of time. 03:49 Now, why don't you share with us? 03:51 Sure. 03:52 So we have our tabule dish over here, 03:54 which is the parsley salad. 03:56 Very high nutrients, high nitrates, 03:57 it's fabulous for heart health. 03:59 And then we have our hummus dish over here 04:02 which is the garbanzo bean and tahini and garlic dish. 04:05 Wonderful dip to have with pita bread. 04:08 And then we have our babaghanoush back here 04:11 which is our other dip that's made 04:13 mainly out of eggplant and tahini 04:16 and we have lavash bread to go with that. 04:18 And then over here have our doulma, 04:21 which is our stuffed grape leaves. 04:25 And then we have our fattoush salad up here, 04:28 which is the sister of the tabule, 04:31 if you'd like to call that. 04:32 And then finally, we have our tzatziki, 04:34 which is our yogurt dish that goes with our doulma. 04:40 Oh, wow. 04:41 And everything was delicious. 04:43 Now, do you have a cookbook? 04:45 Yes, I do. All right. 04:46 It was a labor of love over the past two years. 04:48 I've been creating and developing recipes 04:50 and resources and photography. 04:53 So I finally put it all together in a cookbook 04:56 and so I do have a cookbook that is out. 04:58 And if people would like to learn more 04:59 about my cookbook, 05:01 they can go ahead and check out my website. 05:02 Oh, yes. 05:04 And the information's on there. 05:05 If they subscribe to my website, 05:07 they'll receive a notification on the updates 05:09 of my cookbooks development. 05:10 Okay, so if you want some fabulous Mediterranean food, 05:14 this is a woman and I know 05:16 you've been blessed by great cooking in your home. 05:19 And so, I am so glad that you've tuned in today 05:22 and I'm going to share Bible texts 05:24 with you from 3 John 2, and it says, 05:28 "I pray that you may prosper and be in health, 05:32 just as your soul prospers." 05:34 And you know it's true health is wealth. 05:36 Amen. 05:38 And so what you're doing is a blessing. 05:39 So thank you so much, both of you for sharing. 05:41 Thank you so much for having us. 05:43 Thank you. 05:44 And may God continue to bless you 05:46 until we meet again. 05:47 God bless you. |
