00:01 In 1984, God impressed Danny Shelton to build a television
00:05 station that would one day reach the world with the 00:09 undiluted Three Angels messages of Revelation 14. 00:12 With no degree or experience in television, Danny moved forward 00:16 in faith with the ideas that would soon ignite into flames 00:20 of revival. 00:35 there for I too fail And when I see his heart breaking from 00:54 a wrong turn he's taking let me be there, for I remember well. 01:08 I want to spend my life mending broken people. 01:18 I want to spend my life removing pain, Lord let my words heal a heart that hurts 01:40 I want to spend my life mending broken people. 01:50 I want to spend my life mending broken people. 02:00 We're so glad you've joined us for a special look at the 02:03 miracles that brought Three Angels Broadcasting Network 02:06 into existence, along with the look forward to an exciting 02:10 future as we shine the light of the gospel into every dark 02:14 corner of this world. 02:15 You're watching 3ABN's 40th anniversary special. 02:21 Hello and welcome to 3ABN's special 40th anniversary 02:26 program. 02:27 What a blessing to be here this evening with you. 02:30 We are here of course celebrating 3ABN's 40th year, 02:33 but we're here to give honor and glory to the Lord Jesus 02:37 Christ and also to thank him for his faithfulness through 02:40 all the years. 02:42 It's hard to believe you know Mr. Danny, Dr. Yvonne, Jill 02:44 that tonight I think this is pretty neat because this is 02:46 airing for the first time obviously. 02:48 It's Thursday Night Live and it's the 14th of November 2024. 02:53 40 years ago Mr. Danny on the 14th of November you had the 02:56 impression from the Lord start a ministry of 3ABN and here we 03:00 are because the faithfulness of God and of course our 03:02 supporters and viewers 40 years later going so what a blessing. 03:07 It's amazing to me and all I can say to anybody watching and 03:12 listening is God will use us in spite of us. 03:15 It's not what you have to offer other than yourself and your 03:19 heart but our willingness. 03:21 We always say the blessing is on the go so when I sit back 03:24 and look at it it's almost like it's unrealistic because right 03:29 now thinking back where I was and taking those steps it had to been 03:34 God because I didn't have that kind of faith and so in fact 03:38 that's probably they somebody told me once they said this 03:41 kind of ministry is kind of like the bumblebee that doesn't 03:44 know aerodynamically. 03:46 He's not supposed to be able to fly but he does anyway but I 03:50 was so sure that it was the Lord's impressing us to go 03:54 forward that we did and my got my brother my family and then 03:58 other people started joining and so 40 years later thanks to 04:02 the Lord and thanks to your all your management and your great 04:07 I'm going to say calling of God that thank you for what you all 04:12 do for the cause of God right now that makes it easier on 04:16 Yvonne and me so we're not doing all the day-to-day stuff 04:19 but we're happy to be here and we're traveling and doing been 04:22 able to write books and music or do whatever and try to help 04:25 where we can but just as surely as God had called me for this 04:30 He's called each of you and those of you at home God has 04:33 something special for you each and every one of us are called 04:36 to do something in these closing moments of verse 04:38 history. 04:40 Tonight is all about 40 years of changing lives for eternity. 04:44 That's right. 04:48 before we went live. 04:49 In Psalm 107 I love this scripture verse 2, Let the 04:53 redeemed of the Lord say so whom he has redeemed from the 04:59 hand of the enemy. 05:01 And I like to think of the ministry of 3ABN for 40 years 05:04 plucking as it were people from the hand of the enemy 05:07 proclaiming the undiluted three angels messages one that would 05:11 counteract the counterfeit into a lost and dying world and we 05:16 know that there are people all over this world people lost and 05:20 alone broken stuck in their stuff or their addiction that 05:25 the Lord Jesus reaches down through the ministry of 3ABN. 05:31 When they flip a channel or when they turn on the radio 05:34 dial they discover that Jesus loves them. 05:37 They discover that Jesus can set them free and they discover 05:41 the truth in the word of God. 05:43 So tonight we're going to hear stories and testimonies of 05:48 people whose lives have been changed by this ministry. 05:51 We sent the crew out and they got some incredible stories 05:55 we're going to bring to you. 05:56 We're also going back in time and we're going to visit some 06:01 of those early memories Mr. Danny with you and some of your 06:04 brothers so we have some history roll and then just 06:07 seeing what God is doing and I think there's some music too so 06:09 it's going to be a wonderful two and a half hours together. 06:12 It's going to be a fun program praising the Lord Jesus Christ 06:15 for what he has done through the ministry of 3ABN. 06:18 You know Dr. Yvonne when you think about being involved in 06:20 ministry why are we involved in ministries for souls of the 06:24 kingdom of God right? 06:25 What a blessing that is. 06:26 It is such a profound blessing because for us to be alive at 06:31 this point in earth's history what a privilege it is to get 06:36 the gospel to the world to show people just like you were just 06:40 saying Jill how much Jesus loves them how he wants to set 06:44 us all free and how he's there for us and to see how this 06:50 ministry has worked in the lives of people throughout 06:53 these 40 years and then the new things that are on the horizon 06:58 it's just so exciting so what a blessing to be here. 07:02 We have a lot of rolls this evening Jill why don't we set 07:05 this next one up the we have some free offers I see that 07:08 right there maybe we should talk about that first then 07:10 we'll go to the first roll. 07:11 Okay sounds perfect so tonight of course is all about what God 07:15 has done in and through this ministry and what better way to 07:18 tell some of those early moments than the mending broken 07:21 people's story. 07:22 Now you might have watched this this is it three hours long? 07:26 I think it's three hours long. 07:27 I think it's a couple hours at least. 07:29 Somebody said it was just a little shorter than Gone with 07:32 the Wind. 07:34 Okay so it is on YouTube if you want to just go to 3ABN's 07:38 YouTube account just type 3ABN in there on YouTube and you can 07:42 find it the Mending Broken People's Story but if you don't 07:44 have access to YouTube or you'd like your own DVD copy you can 07:48 call us right now and we will send it free to you just call 07:52 us at 618-627-4651 and we'll send out that free DVD to you, 08:00 or you can email us at Live, L -I-V-E, at 3ABN.TV, that's Live 08:08 at 3ABN.TV, and we also have our brand new 40th anniversary 08:13 pin, our 40th anniversary pin, so we would love to send that 08:17 to you free as well. 08:19 You can wear it, and you're already part of the family, but 08:22 it really shows that you are part of the 3ABN family, so you 08:26 can call us or email us for that. 08:29 Amen. 08:32 Danny, I know you've talked about this through the years, 08:34 it's always inspiring when we hear those testimonies of lives 08:37 change, right? 08:38 There are so many stories. 08:39 You've heard them from the beginning of 3ABN, and it 08:42 always inspires us when we hear them, and they continue through 08:45 the years. 08:49 the crew went out and got some of these stories, so throughout 08:51 tonight's program, our special 40th anniversary program, we're 08:55 going to be going to, Lord willing, maybe 8, 9, 10 08:58 different testimonies along with some really special roles 09:00 of the history of 3ABN and some music, but let's go to, should 09:04 we go to Sister Kay's role? 09:05 Sister Kay has an incredible testimony, and let's listen to 09:08 that right now. 09:16 My name is Kay, I'm born and brought up in Sri Lanka, and I 09:20 was educated in Sri Lanka, and I thought I'm a good Christian, 09:25 I'm going to church every Sunday, and reading the Bible, 09:29 praying, interceding for other people, everything was going 09:34 good, I wanted to do mission trips, and I was doing mission 09:38 trips and all that. 09:39 I was in Philippine, I was reading Hebrews 4 in the Bible, 09:43 and God really convicted me. 09:46 He said something I have never seen in Hebrew. 09:48 It says in verse 7, again, He designates a certain day, 09:55 saying in David, today is such a time, and has been said, 10:01 today, if you will hear my voice, don't harden your 10:04 hearts, and then again He said, there remains therefore a rest 10:08 for the people of God. 10:10 That hit me bad. 10:11 I was like shocked, I was almost falling from my chair. 10:15 What is this rest day, Lord? 10:16 I never knew about this. 10:17 I have never heard about the seventh day, and nothing at all 10:21 there. 10:22 Then I was asking God, what is this? 10:23 Then He said in verse 11, let us therefore be diligent, enter 10:28 the rest, lest anyone fall according to the same example 10:34 of disobedience. 10:35 That's the word. 10:37 Those are the last bit of the verses, it struck me so much, 10:40 and I said, God, I don't want to be disobeying You, I want to 10:44 obey You. 10:52 Amazing Facts came, Sabbath School Panel came, 3ABN came 10:57 when I stayed, and I started to watch them, and then I got 11:00 hooked on to them, and in a nutshell, I'm watching them 11:04 throughout all the time. 11:06 I really wanted to study and know what are these people 11:09 saying about, and oh, Sabbath is so, 3ABN guys, everyone, 11:14 Jill, Shelley Quinn, Pastor Rafferty, John Lomacang, all 11:19 their sermons I'm watching, okay, this is what it is, I 11:23 have to obey this, Doug Batchelor too, and he was 11:26 saying, so I was convinced, and God said, yes, you are on the 11:30 right path, follow me, I will direct you, and I found a 11:35 church closer to my house, and I went there, and they embraced 11:39 me, and when The pastor was talking to me about seven days, 11:43 do you know all of these things? 11:44 Already 3ABN has taught me everything. 11:48 I became a student under 3ABN, so I was knowing to kind of 11:55 eighty percent all the information because 3ABN is 11:59 using the Bible and Bible alone, so I could understand, 12:03 oh, it's in the Bible, so I have to obey. 12:05 So I give all glory to Him because God was using me all 12:09 this time. 12:14 to see that God is using me, that I can go out and tell my 12:19 story. 12:23 -suffering with you. 12:27 willing. 12:28 So He is always knocking at the door, and are you willing? 12:31 So this is how God, step by step, gently, not forcing, but 12:38 very gently, He brought me. 12:41 Jesus is a loving God, just go back to the Bible and you will 12:45 find Him. 12:48 you. 12:50 Nowadays you have Bible everywhere, there are many 12:52 channels on the television or YouTube you can watch, and He 12:57 loves you and He died for you. 12:59 Don't lose one minute even to get to know Jesus because it's 13:05 important, because He is your best friend and He loves you 13:09 too much. 13:11 So you need to find, just go and ask, where is Jesus? 13:14 And He is there in the Bible. 13:22 Amen, thank you so much. 13:24 What a great testimony. 13:25 Praise God. 13:25 I love that. 13:27 She's reading in the Word, reading about the Sabbath rest, 13:30 and what does that mean? 13:32 And then all of a sudden YouTube pushes for her, 3ABN 13:36 Sabbath School Panel, 3ABN Programming, Amazing Facts 13:38 Programming, praise the Lord. 13:40 That's incredible. 13:42 Sister Kay actually attended our 3ABN School of 13:45 Discipleship, she lives down under in Australia, and we had 13:49 that opportunity to get to know her, and she's a precious 13:52 sister in Jesus. 13:53 So we love you Sister Kay, what a great testimony. 13:56 You know I have to say that this next clip that we're 13:59 getting ready to go to, thank you Mr. Danny, I want to say 14:01 this in advance, for doing this, because we've been 14:04 wanting to get this footage from you talking about the 14:06 history of 3ABN for a number of years. 14:09 So talk to us a little bit about this, because this video 14:11 that we're getting ready to see, it's about 10, 15 minutes 14:13 long or so, is a really special one, because it kind of goes 14:16 back kind of before 3ABN started. 14:18 Well yes, and so thanks for asking us to do it, because 14:22 we're procrastinating, you know we're kind of at our age 14:26 looking forward and quit looking back so much, but the 14:29 history, so I went by, Greg had said, well why don't you get 14:33 your brothers together, do some background, so we went by 14:37 Brother Kenny and stopped by his house, and said why don't 14:40 you get in, and I told Ronnie to meet me in West Frankfort for 14:43 another brother, and we went back to 812 West Warden Street, 14:47 where each of us were born, we have a younger sister, Tammy 14:50 was born in the hospital, and then my oldest brother Tommy, 14:53 he was born in another house, but where we going to, WE'RE 14:57 ALL RAISED RIGHT THERE IN WEST FRANKFORT. 15:00 SO, WHEN WE SAY WE'RE BORN AT HOME, WE MEANT AT HOME, LIKE, 15:03 YOU KNOW, THE DOCTORS DIDN'T COME OUT. 15:05 SO, YOU KNOW, MY Aunt Mildred, THEY HAD 12 KIDS AND Uncle, YOU 15:10 KNOW, Aunt Wanda, SHE HAD EIGHT. 15:12 AND SO, YOU KNOW, BETWEEN ALL THE SISTERS AND MY DAD HAD A 15:16 BIG FAMILY, THEY DIDN'T REALLY NEED DOCTORS EACH OTHER. 15:19 THEY CAME AND HELPED EACH OTHER DELIVER. 15:21 SO, WE WENT BACK AND I WAS KNOCKED ON THE DOOR AND ASKED 15:25 THE FELLOW THAT LIVED THERE, WOULD IT BE POSSIBLE FOR US TO 15:28 JUST TAKE A FEW MINUTES AND GO OUTSIDE WITH MY BROTHERS 15:30 BECAUSE WE HAD OUR OWN LITTLE BASKETBALL COURT WE HAD MADE 15:33 AND A LITTLE Pole vaulting. 15:35 YOU KNOW, IT'S SMALL, IT WASN'T THAT BIG A YARD, BUT TO GO BACK 15:39 AND REMINISCE SOME OF THE THINGS. 15:41 SO, WHERE DID IT REALLY START WAS WITH TWO PARENTS WHO ONCE 15:44 THEY GAVE THEIR HEARTS TO THE LORD, YOU KNOW, TAUGHT US IN 15:47 THE WAYS OF THE LORD AND IT SAYS, YOU KNOW, THAT WHEN WE 15:50 GET OLD, WE'LL NOT DEPART FROM THAT. 15:52 AND SO, WE GIVE HONOR AND GLORY TO GOD, BUT I'M THANKFUL THAT 15:55 WE HAD PARENTS WHO LOVED US ENOUGH TO TELL US THE TRUTH. 15:59 AND, YOU KNOW, THEY WANTED TO MAKE SURE THAT... 16:03 I'M JUST GOING TO SAY BACK THEN, IT'S LOOKED, THIS IS THE 16:07 WAY THINGS DO. 16:07 YOU GET UP SABOTH MORNING, YOU GO TO CHURCH. 16:10 IT'S NOT LIKE, WELL, I DON'T KNOW, DO YOU WANT TO GO TO 16:12 CHURCH OR NOT. 16:13 YOU DID THESE THINGS AT THE TIME. 16:15 WE MAY SAY, WELL, WHY, BUT LATER IN LIFE, WE SAY THANK YOU 16:18 LORD THAT OUR PARENTS CARED ENOUGH. 16:20 SO, WE JUST WENT BACK AND JUST DID A LITTLE REMINISCING AND 16:23 THEN WE WENT OUT TO THE UPLINK WHERE WE ORIGINALLY BUILT AND 16:26 WHILE WE WERE THERE, THEY GOT US ACTUALLY DOING A LITTLE BIT 16:28 OF WORK. 16:28 YEAH, THANK YOU FOR THAT. 16:29 WE APPRECIATE THAT WORK THAT YOU DID THERE. 16:32 SO, ANYWAY, IT'S JUST A LITTLE ROLE THAT HOPEFULLY PEOPLE WILL 16:35 ENJOY. 16:36 AND I WANT TO SAY THANK YOU TO BRAD AND THE CREW AS WELL WHO 16:39 WENT OUT THERE, GOT ALL THIS FOOTAGE AND HAVE DONE A GREAT 16:42 JOB. 16:47 MUSIC 16:54 Father, thank you that you allow us to be a part of this 16:58 ministry and we give you honor and we give you glory and we 17:02 give you praise. 17:03 In Jesus' name, I pray, Amen. 17:10 MUSIC Hey, bro. 17:13 Hey. 17:13 How you doing? 17:14 Hey, I'm doing good today. 17:15 How about you? 17:16 Good, good, good. 17:18 Okay. 17:19 I can do that. 17:20 Stay with me. 17:21 I'll hurry. 17:24 I got this. 17:26 What's this all about? 17:27 You know what this is, don't you? 17:28 Yeah, well, I recognize it, yes. 17:30 Looks like work to me. 17:31 Looks like a kerosene can, right? 17:33 Yes, it looks good. 17:34 So, I thought I'd give this to you and then have you go 17:37 somewhere with me. 17:38 Last time you asked me to go with you. 17:40 Yes. 17:44 world. 17:46 I'm busted. 17:47 I'm busted, all right. 17:49 Well, here's what I thought. 17:50 This is 40th anniversary. 17:51 Yes, yeah. 17:55 beginning. 17:56 And the very beginning is not out here at T-Ville. 17:59 It's at 812 West Warden Street in West Frankfurt. 18:02 Yeah. 18:05 Sure. 18:07 So, can you jump in the truck and go with me? 18:09 Oh, I want to go back. 18:10 All right, let's do it. 18:11 All right, let's go. 18:13 So, what I was going to let you know was I called brother 18:16 Ronnie and asked him to meet us at the former A&W, which is 18:22 when we were kids, we lived, what, two blocks, was it, from 18:25 A &W? 18:26 Oh, yeah, sure. 18:27 Yeah, the people there and the down home thing, you know, so 18:30 small towns. 18:31 Nice, okay. 18:35 Okay. 18:37 Okay, let's go. 18:38 So, we'll see if he is or not. 18:43 This looks very similar to it did when we were kids, you 18:46 know, the A&W. 18:48 Oh, there's Jamie. 18:49 Karen, how are you all doing? 18:50 I'm good. 18:54 Shelton. 18:55 So, we've got time to grab a root beer before we go. 18:57 Oh, I hope we do. 18:58 We don't have time to get a mug. 19:00 Ronnie got his in the mug. 19:01 Well, I figured it was going to happen that way. 19:03 So, you remember coming here, Ronnie, and paying how much for 19:07 a little root beer? 19:08 Well, five cents. 19:09 Five cents. 19:10 Nine cents. 19:12 They've done that? 19:13 The only thing that happened was 65 years later. 19:19 So, prices did go up just a little bit. 19:22 It's good to be here. 19:23 Nice, beautiful place. 19:24 Thank you. 19:25 I'm glad to meet you all. 19:27 Yeah, Ronnie, you want to jump in the truck with us? 19:29 Yeah, yeah. 19:30 You jump in the back seat? 19:32 I said jump, Kenny, you think you'd do that? 19:35 You got steps to get up there? 19:36 I was going to say, just crawl in if you can. 19:39 That's exactly right. 19:40 Just crawl in. 19:41 Ain't no jumping. 19:42 Each man for themself here, get in the best way you can. 19:45 We're going down, everybody knows these streets. 19:48 There's Main Street, and this is Popper Street, and that's 19:51 St. Louis Street. 19:53 So, if I had driven by there, we could have said who the 19:56 neighbors were, because we knew them all, didn't we? 19:58 We knew them all. 19:59 Okay, who lived over here on the right? 20:02 That was... 20:03 Colin? 20:03 Dr. McColin. 20:05 Miller's over here. 20:06 Miller's on the left. 20:07 Bandera's right there. 20:10 That's Groves'. 20:10 Groves', right? 20:12 We were born in this house, Kenny, Ronnie, and myself, but 20:15 we have a picture of one of the three of us here. 20:19 Tell us about the fence, Ronnie. 20:21 We used to have a white picket fence that went from the 20:23 corner. 20:26 Seemed like that. 20:27 Well, things how they changed. 20:28 And then here, Mom had this arch over it, and she'd painted 20:32 on it by hand, and she'd say, Jesus is coming soon, or again, 20:36 which was it? 20:37 Jesus is coming again, maybe it was. 20:39 And like I say, the sidewalk is still here. 20:40 Yeah, the original sidewalk. 20:41 The original sidewalk. 20:44 over, right through there. 20:46 Remember how often we played washers right here and the 20:48 neighbors, different ones? 20:50 That was one game that Dad, even with his heart condition, 20:53 he could play washers. 20:54 He could. 20:55 He could do that. 20:56 He was good at that, for sure. 20:57 What he'd do when he'd get up to pitch, the rest of us would 21:00 take the two-and-a-half-inch washers and we'd just throw 21:04 them like this. 21:05 He would say, now, boys, watch this. 21:06 Watch this. 21:07 Do like this. 21:08 And then as soon as he'd let it go, he'd say, take a picture, 21:11 somebody, quick. 21:13 Take a picture of that beautiful form. 21:14 And he was usually right. 21:15 That's the thing. 21:15 He was good at that. 21:17 He was good at that. 21:19 Like this here was like 100 feet wide, but it's about 30 21:22 feet, 20 or 30. 21:23 Look, there's some bricks right there, and those came from... 21:27 The basketball court. 21:29 And on the roof is where we fastened where our basketball 21:32 goal. 21:33 And so we'd lay bricks end to end to end. 21:35 Where'd we get the bricks? 21:36 That's what I was going to ask you. 21:37 I didn't remember where we got them. 21:38 No, St. Louis Street was all bricks all the way. 21:41 And about 1960, they took all of that off and there was 21:45 thousands of bricks they let people have. 21:47 So we would go over there and boxes are in the bicycle with 21:51 the baskets and then bring them over here and then lay them 21:54 down because when we dribble, there was no grass left because 21:58 we dribble, you know. 22:00 So now we put bricks, but the trouble is they would move 22:04 shifts. 22:06 over here. 22:09 good ball handler. 22:10 Oh, I'll think of that for sure. 22:12 Which way he could handle it. 22:14 Because often it would bounce like a football, you know, hit 22:16 the corner of a brick and take off. 22:18 Right in front of the alley was a little building that most of 22:21 our people, if you're under 50 or 60, won't know what it was, 22:25 not to shed. 22:26 There was another little building that when you had to 22:28 do certain jobs. 22:29 Not an outhouse. 22:31 An outhouse. 22:32 Oh my, Danny, I don't know if these folks watch this. 22:35 How close it was, Danny, if you remember, because I was 22:38 involved in that for quite a few years here. 22:41 It was just... 22:42 That's a good way of saying it. 22:43 Yeah, I was involved in this thing. 22:45 It was right, the back of it was right even with almost the 22:49 alleyway. 22:50 And then a guy come by once a week with a buggy and horse. 22:56 Once you do on the back of that outhouse, you raised up the lid 22:59 on the back, fastened it here, and he shoveled into that, ooh. 23:04 All he had to say was the horse, and he had to move to 23:07 the next one. 23:10 it. 23:14 an inside. 23:18 Yeah, yeah, okay. 23:20 And then the Aligolios lived right behind us. 23:23 People came once a week and they picked up your trash. 23:26 You brought everything to the, you had 55-gallon barrels. 23:30 So the Golios had theirs over here. 23:32 Yes. 23:33 We had ours here. 23:35 Well, what we discovered now, Mr. Golio, he was a coal 23:38 miner. 23:41 have any money. 23:42 For somehow, we discovered one evening because trash time was 23:46 coming. 23:49 like a truck. 23:50 Yeah, they throw it away because one wheel was missing. 23:53 Yeah, yeah. 23:58 So now, fast forward then to 1990s, when I saw Mr. Golio. 24:02 Well. 24:03 So I said, Mr. Golio. 24:04 And he said, how are you doing, Shelton? 24:06 I figured he couldn't tell us apart, which one. 24:08 He said, how are you doing, Shelton? 24:10 I said, fine, we talked for a bit. 24:12 And I said, I want to tell you something. 24:14 I said, they say confession is good for the soul, yet hard on 24:17 the reputation. 24:18 But I said, when we were kids, I said, my brothers and I, we 24:22 used to go over to your house because I said, as you probably 24:25 knew, we couldn't afford any toys. 24:27 So I said, we would go in your barrel. 24:29 But I said, I was always surprised at some of the nice 24:32 stuff that was in there that we couldn't find anything wrong 24:35 with. 24:36 And it was really nice. 24:37 And just as quick, he was already 90, 85, 90, 88, 90 24:42 years old. 24:45 And I said, it didn't happen. 24:48 He said, no, he said, my wife and I knew that. 24:50 He said, you were good boys. 24:52 You stayed in your mind, you were there. 24:55 And he said, my wife and I said, you know, why don't we 24:58 help them a little bit? 24:59 And he said, so we made sure there were some pretty nice 25:01 toys in there just to try to help out because we knew your 25:05 dad was disabled. 25:06 Here's the deal with Mr. Golio. 25:08 It was nearly Christmas. 25:09 I said, Mr. Golio, he said, we just did that. 25:13 I said, I would have never known. 25:14 He said, well, we didn't want anybody to know. 25:16 So I said, well, it was nearly Christmas. 25:18 I said, this is a great story. 25:20 Could I just tell on the air how you did this to help us? 25:24 You know, the gift without some reason or trying for a show. 25:29 He said, Shelton, if I'd want people to know, I'd have told 25:32 them. 25:34 He said, I'd have told you. 25:35 He said, we did it out of the privacy, you know, ourself. 25:38 Now he's passed away. 25:39 He lived to be over 100 years old, about 103. 25:42 But I think now probably it's okay to say it, but he just 25:45 didn't want any, any claim or whether you did it. 25:48 He said, no, we did it because it's the right thing. 25:50 He had a good heart. 25:51 And we wanted to help. 25:52 We praise the Lord, the little house, the seven of us in it, 25:56 but there was a lot of love there. 25:57 We didn't have much money. 25:59 We didn't have, but we did have a lot of love. 26:01 Didn't realize it until you got older how blessed you were. 26:04 All right, we better get out of here for the folks. 26:07 Run us off. 26:10 haven't been here since the seventies together like this. 26:13 It looks different, doesn't it? 26:14 Yeah, it does. 26:15 It looks different. 26:16 Well, you get an idea of where we're going, right? 26:18 I do. 26:19 I do see this. 26:20 I want to ask you a question. 26:21 Okay. 26:24 I thought he was going to go with us. 26:25 Did he say where he went? 26:27 No, you know, I don't know where he's... 26:28 I think you heard the word work. 26:32 I think he heard the word work. 26:34 No, I think he had something else to do. 26:36 But, you know, I had questions too because when you come by 26:38 the house there, you jumped out and you had this diesel fuel 26:41 cap and said, hey, you want to take a ride with me? 26:44 Well, I, automatically, it's work. 26:46 You said, you know, to me, it's okay to work. 26:49 Oh, if you see a diesel can, that's a good clue. 26:50 It was a clue. 26:54 Well, yeah, that's right. 26:55 We're headed to the uplink that we built in 1985. 26:58 Now, notice up here, this is a single-phase road of power all 27:02 the way from the highway, but a mile and a third of whatever it 27:05 is from the very end, here's three-phase power. 27:10 And so when we... 27:11 Clarence Larson, he's the engineer, said you got to have 27:14 three -phase power, but there won't be any there because 27:16 there's no business. 27:17 Look right here, all along this road, there's three-phase power 27:21 right to the driveway. 27:23 Be honest, I just didn't... 27:24 I didn't notice this up there. 27:25 I never looked up. 27:26 Again, we need to learn to look up. 27:27 That's right, absolutely. 27:29 So here's the original uplink. 27:30 There it is, yeah. 27:32 And... 27:33 Look at that big dish. 27:34 That's a big reminder, isn't it? 27:36 Yes. 27:39 dish out here, and that dish would send to any satellites. 27:43 It had to set on that side of the property. 27:46 It couldn't set right over here on this end of the two acres. 27:49 But then, you know, the Lord blessed with the money. 27:51 That was almost $400,000, and we didn't have anything to do 27:56 it. 27:59 and they said, we really shouldn't, but you're supposed 28:02 to have so much down. 28:03 And I said, well, I know we're going to have the money. 28:05 It was like 90 days or something like that when they 28:07 gave us. 28:07 That was it. 28:09 Didn't know anybody had that kind of money. 28:11 No, it's been amazing. 28:12 It's an amazing project, and it's good to... 28:15 We haven't been back here together in many years. 28:16 That's right. 28:21 in the back of the truck. 28:22 What it is, there's like a ravine over here, and they need 28:26 to get somebody. 28:27 So I said, well, we'll go over there. 28:29 I figured, Greg and Jill, what all they're doing for us, we 28:32 can surely come over here, and they figured we're free labor. 28:36 Oh, absolutely. 28:38 anything. 28:41 Yeah, fuel helps. 28:43 Now, you remember why we have the one can, and why this is 28:45 going like this, right? 28:46 Yeah, I do remember that. 28:48 But tell us. 28:49 Well, you know, when we first got it here, and left one of 28:52 the property and began to build the road, we can really be 28:55 honest, we could only afford like one can. 28:57 We didn't have money. 28:57 We had to buy it ourselves. 29:01 diesel fuel. 29:02 Literally, but five gallons would last a while. 29:04 Like I say, then the next day, we'd bring another one. 29:08 And then we got blessed, and all of a sudden, we can get two 29:11 of them. 29:15 I'll try to bring the truck up here, and I'm going to fill in 29:18 that hole a little bit, and maybe you can spread it for me, 29:21 right? 29:22 Absolutely, I will. 29:23 See if we can do it. 29:24 Okay, let's do this thing. 29:28 You ready? 29:51 Yeah, the bucket like that, you just, it goes right straight 29:54 down. 29:55 You couldn't ask for any more. 29:56 Well, bro, thank you. 29:57 We do like that. 29:58 That's really what it, yeah. 30:01 Let's go in and talk over a little bit of old times. 30:03 Oh, yeah. 30:06 today. 30:07 Yeah, still get goose bumps. 30:08 You bet. 30:09 Yeah, absolutely. 30:10 It's just like, mmm. 30:11 Absolutely. 30:13 Yeah, this whole thing, the front of it was that four by 30:15 eight board on it, it said temple on it. 30:18 So we used to come out here, you remember that? 30:20 And sing Holy Ground? 30:21 Yes. 30:22 And so people from all over, and you've seen it too, I'm 30:26 sure, said they'd come here, and they really felt like they 30:28 were standing on Holy Ground. 30:29 Absolutely. 30:31 I mean, lots of people. 30:32 Yeah. 30:35 Yeah. 30:35 And it is. 30:36 Yeah. 30:38 Yeah. 30:39 Yvonne said years ago when C.A. 30:41 Murray, she picked her up at the airport, he had invited her 30:44 to do a program, and she came, she was asleep, it was later in 30:47 the evening, said she pulled on the 3ABN, on the 3ABN property, 30:52 and she woke up, and she said, I feel like I'm standing on 30:55 Holy Ground. 30:56 All my praise, I give you all my praise. 31:08 That's all I have to offer you. 31:18 I now build a sanctuary deep, within my heart. 31:30 And all my praise, I offer up to you. 31:58 So to you. 32:04 I'm an empty, broken vessel, filled with hurt and pain 32:13 inside. 32:15 Still I offer up all my praise to you. 32:28 All my praise, I give you all my praise. 32:39 That's all I have to offer you. 32:50 I now build a sanctuary deep within my heart. 33:02 And all my praise, I offer up to you. 33:14 Oh, 33:21 to you. 33:34 Wow, amen. 33:35 Wow, Mr. Daniel, it brings back a lot of memories. 33:37 It does, it absolutely does, and it was fun, actually. 33:41 Oh, yeah. 33:44 hadn't been that backyard since the 70s, I guess, since a 33:48 little after my father died in 1974. 33:52 And so it was nice to go back and reminisce and look around, 33:55 and the story of Mr. Golio still gets me. 33:58 And we were standing right in the alley and where we were 34:01 actually standing, that barrel that we used to turn over and 34:04 find stuff was no more than 10 feet. 34:06 And I hadn't been back there, like I say, in 50 years, just 34:09 about. 34:13 bit. 34:17 as young teenagers, let us cut a hole in the attic, and then 34:21 we got some wood, a house had burned up the street, and we'd 34:25 go get the scrap wood and made a little floor. 34:28 And the center of the peak was about five foot, six or seven, 34:34 and it would go down, it was only 12 feet wide, and it would 34:36 go down to three feet. 34:37 So our walls were three feet, so we had to get our beds in 34:41 there and you just put them against, and you couldn't get 34:43 up unless you got down the middle of the... 34:45 Of course, you hit your head. 34:48 couldn't have lived up there, you know. 34:51 But no, it brings back a lot of memories, and really that's 34:54 where it started, is our folks, and I encourage young people, 34:57 you know, parents today to encourage their kids in the 35:00 Lord. 35:04 but as far as I know, all of us are still serving the Lord, and 35:09 in spite of everything, we've, you know, like I say, whatever 35:13 comes and goes, that's the beauty of the plan of 35:16 salvation. 35:20 you today, no matter where you are, what you've been doing in 35:23 your life, maybe you're away from the Lord now, you happen 35:26 to be turning this on, He's ready and waiting for you to 35:30 simply come and ask Him to forgive you from your sins, and 35:33 He will do it. 35:36 So, 3ABN has been a great, great, I don't want to say run, 35:41 but Paul said a run a good race, I can't say they've run a 35:44 good race, but I'll say that God has held us up when we 35:47 needed it, and the main thing that was hit by some of these 35:51 testimonies, and the more that we'll be hearing is the message 35:54 that 3ABN, the one thing that we've done, if you watched us 35:58 40 years, 38 years ago, you watch us now, the message 36:01 basically is going to be the same that the Lord has blessed 36:05 that we haven't gone to the left or to the right, you know, 36:08 because you get people going every wind of doctrine, So I'm 36:11 thankful and thank you for your leadership. 36:14 Our Board of Directors that all have the same goals and mission 36:18 as we're going to stick to the Three Angels messages and God 36:22 will do the rest. 36:24 You know Jill, one thing that struck me as we were looking at 36:27 that video of Mr. Danny and the family there is ministry 36:31 requires hard work, doesn't it? 36:33 I'm thinking about how three have been started and here you 36:35 are, I like that montage at the end of that video of them 36:38 stretching out that tape measure. 36:40 The driveway, the equipment, I mean you guys got right in 36:43 there, hammered the nails, you know ministry requires getting 36:45 in there. 36:46 My brother's knife mostly built that. 36:49 Dug footers and all that stuff, so you know a lot of 36:51 times people say, oh ministry, you know just let other people 36:54 know, you've got to get in there and actually sacrifice 36:55 and do work yourself, so what a blessing. 36:58 If you want to hear more of the testimony of Mending Broken 37:00 People, you can always go on to YouTube and just type in Three 37:04 Beans YouTube account and search for Mending Broken 37:07 People or you can call us for the Mending Broken People DVD 37:11 if you want a copy of that, 618 -627-4651. 37:17 We also have our special 40th anniversary pin, this lapel pin 37:22 here that you can wear as well. 37:24 So speaking of family, your brothers being involved with 37:28 building the ministry, Melody was an integral part from the 37:32 very beginning and we have a special role of her and you 37:35 singing. 37:36 Oh my. 37:37 So let's go to that right now. 38:07 give him glory give him glory 38:17 Lifting holy hands toward heaven worship Christ the Lord. 38:34 Praise him, praise him, praise the name of the Lord. 38:49 Let all heaven and earth proclaim it that Jesus Christ is Lord. 39:06 Give him glory. 39:17 Give him glory. 39:23 Lifting holy hands toward heaven 39:32 Worship Christ the Lord. 39:36 Wow, amen. 39:37 Oh my. 39:38 That is so sweet. 39:39 I went way back. 39:40 I think, what was that, 1987? 39:42 1987. 39:43 That's right. 39:47 and I think I was 36. 39:49 And you wrote that song, give him glory, which is on another 39:53 project. 39:56 Wolf, I think he didn't like my verse as good as his so he 40:01 wrote some better ones, but no we combined and so we still use 40:05 it, we still give God the glory. 40:07 First angel's message, fear God and give glory to him for the 40:11 hour of his judgment has come. 40:12 You and Melody sound so nice together. 40:15 The voices just blend so beautifully and she's still 40:19 singing for Jesus. 40:20 And if I had all that hair I'd still look as young. 40:23 Oh, but you still look good. 40:24 You look great. 40:24 You look good. 40:26 Oh thank you, I was fishing. 40:30 You know, one of the things I really like about this footage, 40:33 this is 1987 as you said, is that that's where you and 40:36 Melody, when you went around fundraising talking about the 40:39 ministry of 3ABn, the two of you traveled around because your 40:41 wife had passed away. 40:43 3ABn was brand new at this point and that's where you went 40:46 around to churches. 40:47 I mean you all were on the road a lot, sang together. 40:49 To me that's just such a beautiful thing, a remembrance 40:51 of like wow, back in the day because Melody was there from 40:54 the beginning of 3ABn. 40:55 Bless her heart because she would have to hear the story 40:58 over and over and over starting in 1984, you know, then when we 41:02 go to churches because actually we were singing together on 41:05 weekends and producing records for people in Nashville during 41:09 the week because after Mother died I quit construction 41:12 basically because I didn't want her to be by herself. 41:15 So we went into ministry and so we were traveling together but 41:19 bless her heart, she would fall asleep because afterwards you'd 41:22 go to people's houses, there were churches that said well 41:24 come home and we'd have groups of people and we'd be telling 41:27 the 3ABn story, what God was doing and what we were getting 41:31 ready to do and once it was going up and she never 41:34 complained about it at all and we put thousands of miles in 41:37 that old van we had and so we had a little bed in the back so 41:41 when she'd get tired she could sleep but I think the first 41:44 year we'd put close to 100,000 miles on the van going in every 41:48 church where we'd sing we'd of course share the story about 41:51 3ABn and so she's been and you know still singing for the Lord 41:57 and 8 kids later and now giving us a little Danny grandson and 42:03 we've got more on the way and so God is good, that's all I 42:08 can say. 42:08 Praise the Lord. 42:10 Speaking of family ministry we have a family who's been 42:14 impacted by the ministry of 3ABn, what I love about this 42:17 role we're going to go to right now is sometimes you can see 42:20 how 3ABn impacts an individual and then that's a ripple effect 42:24 and that impacts other people but in this instance 3ABn God 42:28 used the ministry of 3ABn to impact an entire family and to 42:33 bring healing so let's go to Carmelo and Tina and their 42:37 family's testimony right now. 42:45 My name is Tina and I grew up in a home with a single mother 42:50 and my sister, grew up Catholic, around my teenage 42:55 years I started reading the Bible and by the time I was in 43:01 college I was baptized as a Seventh Day Adventist. 43:04 I met Carmelo at work, thought he was really handsome, we 43:08 continued to talk, we started dating and before long we got 43:12 married. 43:13 My name is Carmelo and I'm from Connecticut, I was born and 43:18 raised in an inner city and my mom was a Christian woman who 43:24 brought me to church so in my teenage years there was like 43:28 zero connection with God, I didn't go to church at all, I 43:34 was more into doing my own thing, it's not until I decided 43:40 to join the army where God started to come into the 43:46 picture. 43:47 And when he came home he was more willing to attend church 43:55 functions and starting to attend church with me which was 44:00 nice, he set up Bible studies together with my pastor and 44:08 began to dig and study together with the pastor. 44:12 I remember one day I was coming home from work and my wife was 44:17 like you have to hear what I just heard from 3ABN, I heard 44:23 this testimony from Ian and he's in the service and there's 44:29 this program that they're about to start and I think it would 44:36 be great for you and I said well what is this and she was 44:40 like you should really look into going into school of 44:43 discipleship, it's a one week training program to how to be a 44:49 disciple. 44:50 3ABN helped to disciple my husband and allow God to meet 44:58 him where he was, capture his heart, get him in the word. 45:06 My family just sees the difference, they notice the 45:09 difference to the point where my son says who are you, 45:16 where's my dad, so him saying those comments I know for sure 45:24 that I've been changed, you know God has changed me for 45:29 sure. 45:30 Growing up for me it was very difficult to relate to my dad 45:34 because since he wasn't there very often and so when he came 45:39 back from 3ABN and I had went we had something in common to 45:43 talk about, we had something that we could connect with and 45:46 then we started watching it together and you know we had 45:48 these light hearted conversations and it started 45:51 like breaking the ice because I noticed like my brother and him 45:55 couldn't connect with like sports and men's stuff but I 45:58 was just kind of like no that's like my dad but I just, he's a 46:02 stranger to me but now it's not like that anymore like I can, I 46:07 feel more comfortable around him, we can talk about more 46:11 things and we can talk about 3ABN and we can talk about how 46:14 to share it and different ideas and bounce them off and we 46:17 laugh together, you know we make jokes and it feels like a 46:20 lot closer than it did before. 46:22 Well really what's in my mind is I love 3ABN, 3ABN has 46:30 ministered to our family in so many ways, just giving us truth 46:37 filled messages that encourage and inspire, inviting us to 46:48 come and and be discipled to learn how to reach other people 46:54 with the gospel in meaningful ways, and it's just been 46:58 wonderful. 47:00 So we watch 3ABN together. 47:05 We use the 3ABN study guides to do Bible studies with people, 47:10 and that's been a blessing. 47:12 My daughter is sharing about the School of discipleship 47:17 She shared with a friend, and her friend actually applied and 47:22 came to the last class, and she returned with just a smile and 47:28 a joy that I had not seen in her before. 47:31 I think for each family there's always that one moment that God 47:35 uses or one thing that God uses to bring together or to bring 47:39 them closer to him, and for us it was 3ABN, because me and my 47:43 mom would watch 3ABN together, and just going and getting 47:48 trained the same and being able to connect that way. 47:52 For us, 3ABN is what God used to heal us and bring us 47:57 together as where we are now. 48:02 3ABN, 40 years of changing lives for eternity. 48:08 Amen. 48:09 Praise the Lord. 48:10 Amazing. 48:11 Powerful, isn't it? 48:11 Beautiful testimony. 48:13 Really, that's a two-hander. 48:17 God used 3ABN to heal our family. 48:20 Look at that. 48:21 Praise the Lord. 48:23 It is powerful, for sure. 48:25 Those are encouraging, aren't they? 48:28 Absolutely, and because of you, because you are part of the 48:31 3ABN family, because you join hands together and pray for 48:35 this ministry and support this ministry, people just like 48:40 Carmelo and Tina and their family can receive that 48:43 healing. 48:44 Praise the Lord. 48:45 We hear testimonies of lives that have been changed over and 48:48 over again. 48:49 This testimony came from Puerto Rico, and Pastor John Dinzey 48:53 voiced it, and we did just a little reenactment on this 48:56 incredible testimony. 49:04 In the early 1990s, 3ABN purchased Channel 21 in San 49:08 Juan, Puerto Rico, and one of the people whose life was 49:11 transformed was Lourdes. 49:13 She used to sing in clubs at night, worked long hours to 49:17 make ends meet. 49:19 Lourdes had a son and a daughter, and they stayed home 49:23 alone at night, and her son began to hang around with the 49:27 wrong crowds. 49:29 He began to sell drugs and use drugs and wound up in juvenile 49:34 prison. 49:36 She couldn't handle this overwhelming guilt, and to add 49:39 to the weight, her daughter said, if you had been home, my 49:43 brother would not be in prison. 49:46 Lourdes was so depressed with all of her problems and her son 49:49 in jail. 49:54 working, she looked at the sleeping pills and was 49:58 considering taking all of them to never wake up. 50:02 As she considered taking all of the pills to end her life, 50:06 Lourdes thought about her daughter and her son and the 50:10 suffering they would go through without their mother, and 50:13 decided to look for something to watch on TV, and then 50:17 something miraculous happened. 50:20 Surfing through channels, she found 3ABN, began to watch. 50:24 She had never seen it before, and now she was encouraged as 50:29 she began to listen to the programming, and one of the 50:32 speakers she was listening to said, why are you carrying this 50:36 heavy load? 50:37 It seemed to Lourdes that Jesus was talking directly to her, 50:42 and she said, yes, I am carrying this load alone. 50:47 I don't want to carry this load alone. 50:49 Help me, Jesus. 50:52 Lourdes fell on her knees, weeping, tears streaming down 50:56 her face, and she said, yes, Jesus, please take all these 51:02 burdens from me. 51:03 I can't handle them on my own. 51:05 And she let go, and she began to feel at peace that she never 51:10 felt before, and that night, she slept peacefully unlike 51:14 ever before. 51:16 The next day, Lourdes was driving and stopped at a light, 51:20 and the lights last a long time in Puerto Rico, and as she 51:24 looked around, she saw a Seventh-day Adventist Church 51:27 off to her right that she had never seen before, and said, I 51:31 am going to that church. 51:33 She started going to the church, and they were having an 51:36 evangelistic campaign. 51:37 At the end of the campaign, Lourdes was baptized a Seventh 51:42 -day Adventist Christian, and to that I say, praise the Lord. 51:53 What a powerful testimony. 51:57 It makes me think about how intimately God is involved in 52:02 each of our lives, so much so that he sees us when we're 52:05 hurting and in pain and has an answer for that, and I'm so 52:10 thankful that 3ABN was a part of that solution for her. 52:15 God has been so good throughout all these years. 52:21 Tell us about how good God has been. 52:24 I wrote a little chorus some time ago, and sometimes I like 52:29 to just sit in the evening and just maybe, when everything's 52:32 quiet, and just talk to the Lord, and he kind of gave me 52:35 this little song. 52:37 You've been good to me through all the years. 52:44 You've been good to me through joys and tears. 52:49 It's hard for me to get through this, sorry. 52:52 I want to thank you, Lord, for all you've done. 52:58 You've been good to me through all the years. 53:06 You've been good to me through all the years. 53:12 And he has. 53:14 Has he been good to you? 53:16 He's been good to me through joys and tears. 53:23 I want to thank you, Lord, for all you've done. 53:30 You've been good to me through all the years. 53:38 I love you. 53:42 I love you, Lord. 53:46 I love you, Lord, I really do. 53:52 I love you. 53:56 I love you, Lord. 54:00 I love you, Lord, I really do. 54:07 Wow! 54:09 It just takes you back so many years and what can you say but 54:13 God has been good to us through all the years and I know He's 54:16 been good to you. 54:18 We just should go back to the old song says, let's count our 54:21 blessings instead of sheep, right? 54:24 So God has been good to us. 54:27 You know Mr. Danny, a question for you and thank you for 54:30 bringing your guitar. 54:36 Thank you for doing that. 54:37 It just ministers to me in such a powerful way but talking 54:41 about God's goodness through the years, when you were 54:43 impressed 40 years ago, did you have any idea of how big 3ABN 54:47 would be? 54:50 networks, television networks reaching the world, did you 54:53 even think about how big 3ABN would be? 54:55 No, I really didn't look any just one day at a time. 54:58 I just knew what I was supposed to do and I went forward and 40 55:02 years later I say, you've been good to me through all the 55:07 years. 55:09 You've been good to me through joys and tears. 55:16 I want to thank you Lord for all you've done. 55:23 You've been good to me through all the years. 55:35 And he has, he's been good to me all of these years in spite 55:38 of us and that's what I want you to keep in mind today. 55:41 We're not here talking about me and whatever. 55:43 Just the fact of what God has done. 55:45 He's willing to use anybody. 55:47 When you're willing to be used of God, you go forward and I 55:51 promise you God will bless you abundantly more than you could 55:54 ever ask or think. 55:55 Amen. 55:56 God wants to use each one. 55:58 Just a willing vessel, an open heart, a willingness to say, 56:01 yes Lord Jesus, here am I, send me. 56:04 We have a full another hour and a half coming up with roles and 56:08 testimonies. 56:08 Amen. 56:13 So stay with us. 56:13 We'll be right back. 56:14 Amen. |
