00:16 Thank you, each one of you. 00:18 We have been studying 00:19 over the last couple of weeks now 00:23 prophecies in quite, 00:25 in depth study of prophecy. 00:28 And we hope that those subjects have been a great, 00:31 great help to you. 00:32 And tonight, we kind of put a cap sheaf 00:34 on the prophecies, 00:36 and we'll start taking and applying 00:39 a lot of the things that we have learned 00:41 over the next few nights. 00:42 So you're going to begin to see 00:44 how these prophecies have helped you 00:46 in other portions of the Scripture. 00:49 Tomorrow night, we come to a subject entitled, 00:52 "Why don't they just tell the truth?" 00:55 "Why don't they just tell the truth?" 00:58 Have you ever been in a situation 01:00 where you wish they would 01:03 just tell you the facts and tell you the truth? 01:06 You know have you ever been in an airport 01:11 and the plane is delayed and they say, 01:15 "Well, it's probably going to be 15 minutes late." 01:19 And two hours later the plane shows up. 01:22 You know how that goes? 01:24 This subject tomorrow night is one 01:27 that I consider to be vital. 01:29 I consider it to be extremely important 01:32 as we take a look at the Word of God on, 01:35 why don't they just tell the truth. 01:37 So we hope that you won't miss tomorrow night. 01:40 It's a very, very vital subject. 01:43 Tonight, 01:45 we're going to continue to look at prophecy. 01:49 Like I said, we're putting 01:50 kind of a cap sheaf on it tonight, 01:52 because many of these prophecies 01:54 we've studied in Daniel 2, Daniel 7, 01:57 Revelation 13, Revelation 11, and Revelation 17, 02:02 all those are going to begin to come together tonight. 02:06 And as they come together, 02:08 you're going to find yourself right down in the present day. 02:12 And what is happening today 02:15 and the scriptures even going to give you kind of a look 02:17 into what will take place in the future. 02:20 And as I have told you from night to night, 02:25 you can depend on this book. 02:27 It will not fail. 02:31 It's sure 02:32 and the prophecies will take place just exactly 02:36 as Scripture says they will. 02:39 Now, you're going to hear things 02:41 on the news, on the radio, and television, and newspaper 02:46 in which they'll talk about things that are going to happen 02:49 and it may look certain way 02:51 but I can assure you, 02:52 it will happen just exactly 02:54 as the Scripture says it will happen 02:57 because the Bible says, "It's God who sets up kings 03:00 and it's God who takes them down." 03:02 Okay. 03:03 So we have some exciting subjects 03:06 over the next few nights, folks. 03:08 The next three weeks 03:09 that will help you understand God's Word into men and women 03:14 who are living today. 03:16 This day and this age, I can't think of anything 03:21 that would be of more value to you, 03:24 and more help to you 03:26 than to understand what this book says. 03:29 So we hope you'll continue to in His shadow for life 04:52 Say to the Lord, 04:54 "My Refuge 04:57 My Rock in Whom I trust." 05:03 And He will raise you up 05:08 On eagle's wings 05:11 Bear you on the breath of dawn 05:16 Make you to shine like the sun 05:21 And hold you in the palm 05:26 Of His Hand 05:32 You need not fear the terror of the night 05:37 Nor the arrow that flies by day 05:43 Under His Wings your refuge 05:47 His Hand 06:22 For to His angels He's given a command 06:27 To guard you in all of your ways 06:32 Upon their hands they will bear you up 06:37 Lest you dash your foot against a stone 06:44 And He will raise you up 06:48 On eagle's wings 06:51 Bear you on the breath of dawn 06:56 Make you to shine like the sun 07:00 And hold you in the palm 07:06 Of His Hand 07:12 And He will raise you up on eagle's wings 07:18 Bear you on the breath of dawn 07:23 Make you to shine like the sun 07:29 And hold you 07:33 And hold you 07:38 And hold you 07:42 In the palm 07:48 Of His Hand 08:11 Our gracious Father, 08:15 tonight we come 08:18 asking that You will hold us up in Your hands 08:25 that You give to us wisdom. 08:30 Give us, Lord, understanding 08:34 as we look at the prophecies of Your Word. 08:38 Lord, may our hearts be soft, 08:43 may they be tender. 08:46 May the Holy Spirit 08:49 come in and speak to each one of us. 08:53 Lead and guide us. 08:56 May we come to know 08:59 what You desire for us 09:01 who are living in these days. 09:04 And we'll give to You the honor, 09:07 and the glory, and the praise, 09:09 for this we ask in Christ's name, 09:12 amen. 09:13 Amen. 09:20 In this past century, 09:24 there have been basically three women 09:28 who have been in the position of rulership 09:31 and those three women have done an exceptional job. 09:38 Those three women are one 09:40 Golda Meir of Israel. 09:45 Tremendous leader. 09:47 Done a great, great job. 09:51 Queen Elizabeth, 09:53 still continues to work, 09:58 holding the whole kingdom together. 10:03 Another woman that was in a position 10:05 of rulership 10:06 that did a tremendous job was Margaret Thatcher. 10:11 Those three women in the past century 10:13 will probably go down in history 10:16 as great, great leaders. 10:19 You see, when you pick up your Bible, 10:22 and you begin to look at prophecy, 10:25 God does a simple little thing, 10:28 and that is that he takes a woman 10:32 to represent a church. 10:34 You'll find the Scripture speaks of it in that way. 10:37 Notice what it has to say here. 10:41 "I have likened the daughter of Zion 10:44 to a lovely and delicate woman." 10:48 Jeremiah 6:2. 10:50 So here he just simply says, 10:52 and when he speaks, 10:53 he is likened the daughter to Zion. 10:57 Zions, talking about the church. 10:59 That's what it's referring to. 11:00 You can think of other texts in the Bible 11:03 where he makes that comparison 11:05 as the one in Ephesians 5:25, 11:08 where he says, "Husbands, love your wives, 11:12 just as Christ also loved the church 11:14 and gave Himself for her. 11:17 This is a great mystery, 11:19 but I speak concerning Christ and the," what? 11:22 "Church." 11:23 So here he's making that comparison 11:25 between himself and the church. 11:27 You also remember that it speaks 11:30 in the Matthew about Christ being the bridegroom. 11:35 The church is the bride. 11:37 So God simply uses a woman 11:40 to represent a church in Bible prophecy. 11:43 So when you get to Revelation, 11:46 Revelation Chapter 12, you'll find a woman. 11:50 It speaks about her in these terms. 11:52 It says, Revelation 12:1. 11:54 "Now great sign appeared in heaven: 11:57 a woman clothed with the sun, 12:00 with the moon under her feet, 12:02 and on her head a garland of twelve stars." 12:06 This is a good woman. 12:08 We'll talk more about her on another night. 12:11 But she is a good woman. 12:13 She's clothed with the sun. 12:15 The moon is under her feet. 12:17 On her head she has a garland of twelve stars. 12:20 This represents God's church. 12:24 I'm here in Revelation Chapter 12. 12:26 But when you go to Revelation Chapter 17, 12:29 you find there another woman 12:32 who is riding on a scarlet colored beast. 12:35 It says this about her. 12:39 "Then one of the seven angels 12:41 who have the seven bowls came and talked with me, 12:44 saying to me, 'Come, 12:46 I will show you the judgment of the great harlot 12:49 who sits on many waters.'" 12:50 So now, we see immediately this is not a good woman, 12:55 because it's referring to her as a harlot, okay? 13:00 She's sitting on a beast 13:01 and we're going to take a look at all that. 13:03 But watch as it goes on and describes this woman. 13:09 "With whom the kings of the earth 13:11 committed fornication, 13:12 and the inhabitants of the earth 13:15 were made drunk with wine of her fornication. 13:19 So he carried me away 13:20 in the Spirit into the wilderness. 13:22 I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast 13:25 which was full of names of blasphemy, 13:27 having seven heads and ten horns. 13:30 The woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet, 13:32 and adorned with gold and precious stones and pearls, 13:36 having in her hand a golden cup full of abominations 13:39 and the filthiness of her fornication. 13:43 And on her forehead a name was written:" 13:47 Now watch very carefully 13:49 because God begins to identify certain things for us. 13:52 And it says on her forehead is a name that is written: 13:57 "Mystery, Babylon the Great, 14:00 the mother of harlots 14:02 and of the abomination of the earth. 14:05 I saw the woman, 14:06 drunk with the blood of the saints 14:08 and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus. 14:10 When I saw her, 14:12 I marveled with great amazement." 14:14 So here John has seen this woman, 14:17 she is riding on this scarlet colored beast, 14:20 and she has been drunk with the blood of the saints. 14:23 He talks about all the things that she has done. 14:27 Now, what we need to do tonight is we've got to identify 14:31 who this woman is. 14:33 That's what we'll have to do. 14:35 We're going to have to identify who the woman is. 14:37 Also we're going to have to identify who this beast 14:40 that she's riding on represents. 14:42 We're going to begin to put all that together 14:45 so that you can take a look at the Revelation Chapter 17 14:49 and understand what it's talking about. 14:52 We have studied all these different powers. 14:56 We have talked about 14:58 how that the church went into a wilderness 15:02 for 1260 years from 538 to 1798. 15:08 We talked about that period of time. 15:10 And we talked how the church fled in the wilderness 15:15 and the great persecution that she went through. 15:18 So what we want to do tonight is see 15:20 when it speaks of this woman who is represented as a harlot. 15:25 We want to see what the scripture says, 15:26 we will not have trouble identifying this woman. 15:32 In fact, I will not even have to say to you 15:35 who she represents. 15:37 All we will have to do is read the Scripture to you, 15:40 and you will know who it represents. 15:41 So let's look at the Scripture. 15:43 See what it says about it. 15:45 Four points of identification. 15:48 Has to be a world power, put it down, one point. 15:52 Has to be a world power. 15:54 "With whom the kings of the earth 15:56 committed fornication." 15:58 Revelation 17:2. 15:59 So it tells you that it had to be a world power, 16:02 you can't go looking for some little church off 16:07 in the corner somewhere, friend. 16:09 You've got to look for a church that it says 16:12 that she has committed fornication 16:14 with the kings of the earth. 16:15 It means that she had to be involved 16:17 with the kings of the earth. 16:19 She has to be a world power. 16:21 One point. 16:22 Second point. 16:24 Leads the world astray from God's Word. 16:27 Going to lead the world 16:28 astray from the teachings of Scripture. 16:30 It says here in Revelation 17:2. 16:33 "And the inhabitants of the earth were made drunk 16:35 with the wine of her fornication." 16:37 Now it speaks that she has in her hand a cup 16:42 filled with a wine of her fornication. 16:45 When the Scripture speaks of this cup, 16:48 and it speaks of the wine of her fornication, 16:50 it's meaning teachings 16:52 that are contrary to the Word of God. 16:55 This is what it's talking about. 16:57 And thus it has to be a church 16:59 that has taken a stand contrary to Scripture. 17:05 You have to put it down. 17:06 You're going to have to think, 17:08 you're going to have to look for yourself tonight. 17:09 It has to be a church that teaches things 17:12 that are contrary to the Word of God. 17:16 That's what it says, very clear. 17:18 All right. 17:19 Point three. 17:21 Satan deception regarding Scripture, 17:24 that's what the wine cup represents. 17:27 Okay. 17:28 Third point says, 17:30 it would be a persecuting power. 17:32 "And I saw the woman drunk 17:34 with the blood of the saints and with the martyrs of Jesus." 17:37 So you've got to look for a church 17:39 that has persecuted. 17:42 "When I saw her..." 17:43 John says, 17:44 "I marveled with great amazement." 17:47 Why? 17:48 Because of the tremendous things 17:50 that she did and the persecution 17:52 that took place. 17:54 So if you're looking for a church, 17:56 you've got to look for a church that has been a world power. 18:01 You got to look for a church that has led people 18:04 contrary to the teachings of Scripture, 18:07 and they have persecuted, those are three things. 18:10 You look at it any way you want to, 18:12 but you're going to have to sit down 18:14 and make that application. 18:16 The fourth point. 18:19 Unification of church and state. 18:22 "So he carried me away in the Spirit 18:24 into the wilderness. 18:25 And I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast 18:30 which was full of names of blasphemy, 18:32 having seven heads and ten horns." 18:34 So it says this woman 18:36 is sitting on a scarlet colored beast. 18:39 Now, if you're looking at it, 18:41 you remember that in Bible prophecy, 18:43 a woman represents a church, okay? 18:47 So this woman 18:49 riding on this scarlet colored beast 18:51 represented church. 18:53 It says that she is riding on a beast. 18:57 Daniel 8:20 helps you and I understand 19:02 what beast represent? 19:03 It says, "The ram which you saw, 19:05 having two horns, 19:06 they are the kings of Medo-Persia." 19:08 So a beast in Bible prophecy 19:11 represents a nation or a civil power, 19:16 okay? 19:17 It represents a civil power. 19:18 So, dear friends, 19:20 if you have a woman riding on a beast, 19:25 what do you have? 19:29 Well, you have uniting of church and state. 19:33 You have a church riding on a beast, 19:36 the church or a woman riding on a beast, 19:38 the woman represents the church, 19:40 the beast represents civil power. 19:42 If she's riding on that beast, 19:43 that represents union of church and state. 19:47 So those four points you got to put down. 19:50 One, has to be a world power. 19:53 Secondly, she had to lead people 19:56 contrary to the Word of God. 19:59 Three, she had to persecute people. 20:03 Persecute the saints of the most high. 20:05 And four, she had to unite church and state. 20:10 Not hard to identify, is it? 20:13 If you understand history, if you read history, 20:16 you can identify that without any trouble tonight. 20:19 Okay, 20:21 let's continue on with God's Word 20:22 and see what it tells us here 20:24 because it says here in Revelation 17:3. 20:29 "So he carried me away in the Spirit 20:32 into the wilderness." 20:34 And I saw a woman. 20:35 Now I want to take a little bit of time here. 20:38 Who is writing this Book of Revelation? 20:41 John. John. 20:44 John's writing it. 20:45 Where is John at this time? 20:50 Oh, he's on the island of Patmos. 20:53 That's where he's at where he writes 20:54 the Book of Revelation is on the island of Patmos. 20:57 But here John says, he's been what? 21:01 "Carried into the wilderness." 21:05 Therefore envision, envision 21:08 John has been carried into the wilderness. 21:13 And as we look at this prophecy, 21:15 you cannot look at it 21:18 as John being on the island of Patmos. 21:22 It won't work. 21:23 Or you cannot look at it from where you and I are today. 21:28 You have to look at it from John in the wilderness. 21:33 Are you with me? 21:35 It has to be that way, 21:36 or you won't get it all together tonight. 21:38 So that's the reason I'm spending some time 21:40 on this third verse as John says, 21:43 he was carried away into the wilderness. 21:47 We will establish where that wilderness is. 21:50 Watch what he sees in the wilderness. 21:54 "Sitting on a scarlet beast which was full of names 21:57 of blasphemy, 21:59 having seven heads and ten horns." 22:00 So he sees this beast 22:02 has seven heads, ten horns, 22:04 scarlet colored beast. 22:08 "The beast that you saw and is not, 22:12 and will ascend out of the bottomless pit 22:14 and go to perdition. 22:16 And those who dwell on the earth will marvel, 22:18 whose names are not written in the Book of Life 22:20 from the foundation of the world, 22:24 when they see the beast that was, 22:27 and is not, and yet is." 22:32 So John here is saying, 22:33 this beast that I saw here that has these seven heads, 22:37 and it has these ten horns that beast was, 22:42 is not yet is. 22:45 It's what John is saying. 22:47 So let's take a look and see if we can put together 22:50 what John is talking about, 22:52 because John is here on the island of Patmos. 22:55 He's been carried envision into the wilderness. 22:58 So in the wilderness, John is in the wilderness now, 23:02 and he sees a beast that what? 23:06 Was. 23:08 Are you with me? 23:09 In the wilderness he sees a beast that was...? 23:13 Was is what tense? 23:16 Past. Past. 23:17 Okay, keep it clear. 23:19 In the wilderness, 23:22 John is seeing this vision 23:24 and he sees this beast that is not... 23:29 What tense is that? 23:32 Present. Present. 23:35 He saw a beast that was, 23:37 that past is not, is present and yet is, 23:43 is what? 23:45 Future. Future. 23:46 Okay. 23:48 Are we beginning to understand? 23:49 It's going to beginning to help us 23:51 limit exactly where John is. 23:53 He saw this beast that was in the wilderness, 23:57 that beast is not. 23:59 And yet he says, it is going to come. 24:03 Yet is. 24:04 That's what John is saying. 24:05 So remember as we go through this, 24:08 keep John in the right place. 24:12 Keep him envision in the wilderness 24:15 and this whole prophecy will begin to clear up 24:18 and you'll see exactly what it's talking about. 24:21 All right. 24:23 With that, let's see if we can find out 24:25 who the beast is? What the beast is? 24:27 It says, "The beast that was, 24:31 and is not, is himself also the," what? 24:35 The eighth. 24:37 "The eighth, 24:38 and is of the seven and it's going to perdition. 24:43 They're also seven kings. 24:46 Five have fallen, one is, the other has not yet come. 24:50 And when he comes, he must continue a short time." 24:54 Now folks if you had been with me from night to night, 24:58 we have put all that together. 25:01 We've studied all that. 25:02 We've put that together, 25:03 that should be very clear to you, 25:05 and I'm going to review it just a little bit for you, 25:07 in case there's some of you 25:09 that are just tuning in and getting understanding 25:11 what we're talking about. 25:13 You remember we studied Daniel 2? 25:16 You remember in Daniel 2, there was an image, 25:19 it had a head of gold, arms and breast of silver, 25:22 belly and thighs of bronze, 25:23 legs of iron and feet part of iron and part of clay. 25:26 And we found out that 25:28 that head of gold represented Babylon. 25:30 The arm and breast of silver represented Medo-Persia. 25:33 The belly and thighs of bronze represented Greece. 25:37 The legs of iron represented pagan Rome. 25:40 Remember, we took you through those. 25:41 Okay, now watch 25:43 because God takes and I told you as we studied 25:46 that God simply takes a prophecy 25:49 and picks it up like in Daniel 2, 25:51 and He's going to go this far with it, 25:53 and He's going to stop 25:55 and then He's going to go back 25:56 to the same starting place in Daniel 7, 25:58 except this time He's not going to stop here. 26:01 He's going to go farther that God repeats and enlarges. 26:05 And you remember as we studied Daniel 7, 26:08 you remember now 26:10 He has given those nations beast, 26:13 and you remember the first one was a lion, 26:17 represented Babylon. 26:19 Babylon of old. 26:20 605 to 539, she ruled. 26:25 Pictured as a Babylon, even as a lion. 26:27 Even the Scripture refers to Babylon as a lion. 26:33 In fact, in the ruins, 26:36 if you were to go over to Babylon today 26:39 to where they have rebuilt the Ishtar gates, 26:42 you will see lions there with eagle's wings. 26:46 The British museum 26:47 that did much of the excavation of Babylon 26:50 has statues of lions with eagle's wings. 26:53 God used that lion to represent Babylon, 26:56 that is one of those heads, 26:59 this beast in Revelation 17 has how many heads? 27:03 Seven heads. 27:04 Five have fallen, okay? 27:06 All right. 27:08 The second one was that of a bear 27:11 and that was pictured as Medo-Persia. 27:14 You remember, 27:15 this bear had three ribs in its mouth. 27:18 It represented the three countries 27:20 that Medo-Persia overthrew 27:21 which was Babylon, Egypt and Libya. 27:25 So Babylon fell to Medo-Persia. 27:29 It's what history tells us took place. 27:31 That's what Scripture tells us took place. 27:33 The third beast 27:35 that came on the scene of action was a leopard. 27:38 Had four wings on its back, had four heads, 27:41 that leopard represented the kingdom of Greece. 27:47 The wings on its back represented the swiftness 27:50 with which Alexander the Great took everything. 27:53 The foreheads on that beast 27:54 represented that when Alexander the Great died, 27:57 his kingdom was divided among his four generals. 28:00 Okay. 28:02 The fourth beast was that of a dragon 28:07 represented as pagan Rome. 28:11 Pagan Rome opened up the waterways, 28:15 opened up the roadways made it possible 28:19 for civilization to move across the world. 28:22 Rome ruled longer than any other power 28:25 from 168 BC to 476 AD. 28:30 Thus you have the fourth kingdom as a dragon. 28:33 Then we came to the fifth kingdom 28:36 which was that of papal Rome 28:40 that the Bible presents as a nondescript beast 28:44 in Revelation 13. 28:46 And that beast also had seven heads and ten horns. 28:51 Now follow me carefully. 28:54 Babylon fell to Medo-Persia, Medo-Persia fell to Greece, 28:59 Greece fell to pagan Roman, pagan Rome fell to papal Rome. 29:04 Five have fallen. 29:09 Are you with me? 29:11 Okay. Five have fallen. 29:14 One is, 29:18 the other is yet to come, 29:21 when he comes, he must continue a short time. 29:26 And so those five have fallen. 29:28 Are you beginning? 29:29 You should be. 29:30 Are you beginning to find out where John is? 29:35 He is in the wilderness, envision. 29:36 Where is he? 29:38 Well, he's at the time of this sixth beast. 29:41 That's where he is. 29:42 The time of atheism. 29:45 That's the reason the Scripture refers to it as a wilderness. 29:49 John is at that time 29:51 and when he's talking about and he says, 29:53 "This beast that was, 29:57 is not, yet is." 30:02 Okay. 30:04 So when John says, 30:05 this beast that was, is not, and yet is, 30:09 he can't be talking about communism 30:13 because that's the wilderness where he's at. 30:16 That's exactly what's going on. 30:19 Communism ruled 1798. 30:23 Basically fell in 1991. 30:26 Then it says that the seventh beast, 30:28 which we studied, was that of the United States. 30:32 And it says that it would speak as a dragon. 30:39 And when communism fell, 30:43 this country found itself 30:45 as a superpower unrivaled 30:50 and now it says from that point, 30:53 it would speak as a dragon 30:55 and it says it would last a short time. 31:00 Now when the Scripture says a short time, 31:02 that means in relationship to the other kingdoms. 31:05 It's actually what it means in relationship 31:07 to the other kingdoms. 31:09 Those are the seven, okay? 31:12 And we've looked at them very carefully. 31:14 Now let's go a step farther. 31:19 Speaking of the United States, its position, 31:23 in a article put out by the Associated Press, 31:28 March 8, 1992. 31:30 "In a broad new policy statement 31:32 that is in the final drafting state, 31:33 the Defense Department asserts that America's political 31:37 and military mission in the post-Cold War era 31:42 will be to ensure that no rival superpower 31:45 is allowed in Western Europe, 31:47 Asia or the territory of the former Soviet Union." 31:50 And so it makes it clear the position the United States 31:53 is taken that she is not going to let a superpower, 31:57 another superpower arise. 32:00 She's not going to permit that if she can help it, okay? 32:03 So now she has in that position and it says 32:06 that she would speak as a dragon. 32:10 Now the beast that, what? 32:14 Was, and? 32:17 Is not, is himself also the... 32:21 Eighth. Eighth. 32:23 Okay. 32:24 The beast that was. 32:27 Now where's John? 32:30 In the wilderness. 32:31 He can't be talking about atheistic communism 32:35 because that is present. 32:37 He can't be talking about the United States 32:39 because that was future. 32:42 So it has to be one of these five 32:44 that we've studied 32:46 when he said the beast that was, 32:48 and is not, Babylon was, is not, 32:52 Medo-Persia was, is not, Greece was, is not, 32:56 pagan Rome was, is not, papal Rome was, is not. 33:02 Are you with me? 33:03 Those are the five. 33:05 It has to be one of those. 33:06 He is himself also the eighth. 33:09 And is of the seven and is going to perdition. 33:14 So John is telling you, this one that is the eighth, 33:17 it has to be one of those seven. 33:19 So what I'm trying to tell you, 33:21 don't go running off some other place 33:24 trying to find another country and put it in there. 33:26 Because John has told you clearly, 33:28 it's one of those seven. 33:31 He's made that very, very clear. 33:34 Okay. 33:35 Let's see if we can identify who this eighth one is. 33:39 All right. 33:40 Points of identification. 33:43 It's one of the seven. 33:45 John tells us that it's one of the seven. 33:47 So no question about that. 33:48 Secondly, it's the beast that was, okay? 33:54 Thirdly, it is not at the time 33:58 John is in the wilderness, okay? 34:02 He makes it clear. 34:03 Four, he himself also the eighth. 34:09 All right. 34:10 He himself also the eighth. 34:12 So it says, he's going to be the eighth. 34:13 So that means that particular power 34:16 has to what? 34:18 Come back. 34:20 It has to come back. 34:22 So one of those five, Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece, 34:26 pagan Rome, papal Rome. 34:28 One of those has to come back, all right? 34:33 Fifth point, had to make war 34:36 with the saints because it says, 34:39 the woman on his back made war with the saints, 34:42 all right? 34:43 Six, 34:45 has to be the uniting of church and state. 34:48 Because she's riding on the back of the beast, 34:50 right? 34:52 So you've got to have uniting of church and state. 34:56 Seven, it has to receive 34:59 a deadly wound as the Scripture says, 35:03 was wounded with the sword and yet lived. 35:08 And the eighth point, 35:10 the deadly wound has to be healed. 35:13 All right. Let's take that. 35:14 Let's see those eight points 35:16 and see if there's any one power 35:19 that fits all those eight points. 35:24 Okay. 35:26 One of the seven. 35:27 Now there's just one 35:29 that will fit all eight points, okay? 35:31 And I'm going to put it down here. 35:32 If you can find 35:33 one of the other seven that will fit all eight points, 35:37 let me know, will you? 35:39 That I can't find but one that fits all eight points. 35:42 One of the seven, all right? 35:45 Papal Rome. 35:48 One of the seven, okay? 35:52 The beast that was, 35:53 papal Rome was one of those five that was, is not. 35:59 Napoleon came in, 36:02 overthrew the papal government, 1798, February 15, 1798. 36:07 And established a secular one. 36:10 So during this time, 36:12 it is not the time that John is in the wilderness. 36:15 It is not. 36:17 Is himself also the eighth. 36:20 Question. 36:22 Does papal Rome exist today? 36:25 Huh? 36:26 Oh, very definitely. 36:28 All right. 36:29 Point five, had to make war with the saints. 36:35 Has she persecuted? 36:37 Yeah. Papal Rome has persecuted. 36:40 Uniting of church and state. 36:43 Well, that's what she stands for. 36:45 Uniting of church and civil government. 36:49 Papal Rome. 36:51 Seven, received a deadly wound. 36:57 February 15, 1798. 37:00 She received a deadly wound. 37:05 Deadly weapon healed, 1929. 37:12 Mussolini signed the Lateran Pact 37:16 which reinstated the papal power 37:19 as a civil government 37:21 and thus the deadly wound was healed. 37:25 Only one out of those seven 37:28 that fits all those eight points. 37:33 Now, what we've got to do at this point, dear friends, 37:37 is you and I have to take a look, 37:40 a very clear look tonight at where we're headed. 37:47 I don't have the ability to tell the future. 37:52 That is not something that man of himself has, but God does. 37:59 And God's Word is accurate. 38:02 So I want you to follow very carefully as the scripture 38:05 tells you and I where we're headed, 38:08 what's about to take place. 38:12 Revelation 17:9. 38:15 Here's a mind which has wisdom, Bible saying, 38:19 if you really want to, you know, kind of be smart. 38:22 If you want to understand things, 38:24 "Here is the mind that has wisdom. 38:25 The seven heads are seven mountains 38:27 on which the woman sits. 38:30 There're also seven kings. 38:33 Five have fallen, one is, and the other's not yet come. 38:36 And when he comes, he must continue a short time. 38:39 We've taken a look at all of those. 38:41 The beast that was, and is not, is himself also the eighth, 38:46 and is of the seven, and is going to perdition." 38:49 And you and I have studied now down to that point, 38:52 we've come that far. 38:54 Watch carefully now. 38:55 "The ten horns which you saw are ten kings 39:01 who have received no kingdom as yet." 39:06 Now, we're getting to our day. 39:10 "Ten kings that have received no kingdom as yet 39:13 but they receive authority 39:15 for one hour as kings with the...?" 39:18 Beast. 39:20 "With the beast." 39:22 Now you should begin to put things together. 39:26 Dear friend, please, I beg of you tonight. 39:29 Understand that I am talking about 39:32 a civil power. 39:34 I am talking about 39:35 what governments are going to do? 39:37 Please, I beg of you, 39:38 do not take what I say and apply it to people. 39:43 Don't do that. 39:45 This is talking about where we're headed, 39:48 where we're going, okay? 39:51 They receive authority 39:53 for one hour as kings with the beast. 39:56 "These are of one mind, 40:00 and they will give their power and authority to the beast." 40:03 Now, when it says these ten kings 40:06 are of one mind that tells you clearly 40:09 that they're not all going to come together 40:12 and just be one kingdom. 40:15 It tells you they are going to cooperate, 40:18 they're going to work together, they will be of one mind. 40:21 Are you following me? 40:23 So don't, it doesn't teach that they're all going 40:26 to come together and just be one power. 40:28 It teaches they're going to work together. 40:30 They're going to be of one mind. 40:34 All right. 40:36 As we have studied God's Word night after night, 40:40 we found that that image in Daniel 2 had ten toes, 40:45 and it says, those ten toes were what? 40:48 Ten kings. 40:49 It's what the scripture says very clearly. 40:52 In Daniel Chapter 7, that beast, 40:55 that dragon had ten horns 40:57 and it tells you those ten horns were ten kings, 41:01 very, very clear. 41:04 When you get to Revelation 12, 41:06 that beast has ten horns which are ten kings, 41:12 you get to Revelation 13 that beast has ten horns, 41:17 which represented ten kings and you get to Revelation 17 41:21 and this beast has ten horns and it says, 41:24 they are what? 41:26 Ten kings. 41:28 Now as we have studied the scripture clearly 41:31 in every one of those prophecies, 41:33 those ten horns represented 41:37 the ten Germanic kingdoms 41:41 that came down and they broke up 41:43 the Roman Empire. 41:45 They were such tribes as the Anglo-Saxons, 41:48 the Franks, the Heruli, 41:49 the Vandals, the Burgundians and so forth. 41:52 Those Germanic tribes 41:55 became the nations of Western Europe. 41:59 The Alemanni became Germany. 42:03 The Franks became the French. 42:07 The Lombards became Italy. 42:11 The Anglo-Saxons became the English. 42:14 These Germanic tribes 42:17 became the nations of Western Europe. 42:22 Okay. 42:24 I hope you're putting some things together. 42:28 These ten kings have received no kingdom 42:32 as yet, okay? 42:37 But they are of one mind and they will give their power 42:42 and authority to the beast. 42:46 What do we have happening in Europe today? 42:49 What is taking place? 42:51 We have these ten kings 42:56 that are bringing together 42:57 what is called the European Community 43:01 or the Common Market. 43:04 What is their thinking? 43:08 Where are they? 43:10 They have a symbol, you know, 43:11 they used the Tower of Babel to represent their kingdom. 43:14 It says, one voice, many languages, one nation. 43:21 They're pictured there. 43:22 All right. 43:25 Let me show you what's going on in their minds, 43:29 where we're headed, folks, 43:30 I'm talking about what the scripture says, 43:32 where you and I are headed tonight. 43:38 Sunday Telegraph, August 24, 25, 1991, London. 43:44 This is what it says, 43:45 "If European federalism triumphs, the EC..." 43:50 European Community, that's what the EC stands for. 43:54 "The EC will indeed be" and what? 43:59 "An empire." 44:01 Indeed it's coming there. 44:03 They now have the Euro. 44:06 Just this last year, they united their army, 44:10 and their army today is the largest in the world. 44:15 Okay? 44:16 So don't think it isn't coming together. 44:19 There may be a lot of rough spots. 44:21 There may be a lot of bumps. 44:22 But let me tell you, 44:24 it's happening in step by step, it's coming together. 44:27 Now listen to what it says here. 44:31 It will lack and yeah, it says, indeed, it will be an empire, 44:36 but it will lack an emperor, 44:41 but it will have the pope. 44:45 It's not difficult to think that what we're told, 44:48 that's the pope. 44:50 Recognizes this. 44:52 Yes, that is who they're looking to. 44:56 That is what their thinking needs 44:58 to take place. 45:00 I'm trying to share with you what is happening today 45:03 in the time in which you and I are living. 45:07 And you need to watch very carefully 45:09 when you pick up the newspaper. 45:10 When you look at the television 45:12 and you hear these things are happening, folks. 45:14 Be aware of what the Word of God says 45:17 because it won't lead you astray. 45:20 You'll know exactly where we're going. 45:25 I don't know if you're acquainted 45:26 with the man by the name of Charles Malik. 45:29 If you're not, Charles Malik was the president 45:32 of the assembly of the United Nations. 45:35 He's the ambassador 45:37 from Lebanon to the United States. 45:41 He's a guest lecturer at Harvard. 45:45 This man is in the thick of this. 45:49 I want you to watch as he, 45:52 what his thinking is regarding 45:55 what is happening over in Europe. 45:59 Charles Malik, this is what he says, 46:03 "The only hope for the Western World 46:06 lies in an alliance 46:07 between the Roman Catholic Church 46:10 which is the most commonly, influential, controlling, 46:14 unifying element in Europe." 46:18 Now, I said if there's anything that is unifying, 46:22 controlling in all of Europe, it's the Catholic Church, 46:27 and the Eastern Orthodox Church. 46:32 He says those two churches are the ones, 46:35 are the main ones in Europe. 46:40 "Rome must unite with Eastern Orthodoxy 46:45 because the Eastern Orthodox Church 46:48 controls the Western Middle East, 46:50 the east end of the Mediterranean." 46:54 That's what she controls. 46:56 So he's saying, 46:57 it is absolutely imperative that these two unite 47:01 and there are movements tonight towards that things 47:06 that are happening right now. 47:08 But listen as it goes on. 47:11 "And if they don't solidify that control..." 47:16 If the Roman Catholic Church and the Eastern Orthodox Church 47:19 don't solidify that control, they don't come together. 47:23 "Islam will march across Europe. 47:26 Islam is political." 47:31 Now that's clear. 47:33 That's what he's saying is going to happen. 47:34 That's what he's saying is going to happen. 47:36 That is not what the scripture says 47:38 will happen. 47:41 Scripture does not say that Islam will march across Europe. 47:46 Therefore, what's going to happen? 47:49 I don't know 47:51 if you're putting things together. 47:53 It says, those two are going to unite, 47:55 that's what's going to take place. 47:57 Okay? 47:59 "They only hope for the Western World 48:03 lies in a united Europe 48:07 under the control of the pope. 48:13 Then all Protestant Christians around the globe 48:16 must come into submission to the pope, 48:19 so we will have a unified Christian world." 48:23 Now, I'm just trying to get across 48:25 when it says these ten kingdoms 48:28 or ten kings have received no kingdom as yet, 48:34 but they are of one mind 48:38 and they will give their authority 48:41 to the beast. 48:46 So you ought to be able to begin 48:48 to put things together and understand 48:51 where we are in the stream of time. 48:54 You need to see that and understand it. 48:56 But let's take it a step farther. 48:57 We've looked at Europe, okay? 49:00 Watch this. 49:03 Revelation 13:2. 49:06 We talked about a two-horned beast, right? 49:10 And we identified that two-horned beast 49:13 as that of the United States. 49:16 And let me tell you, 49:18 there is not another power on the face of the earth 49:21 that will fit that two-horned beast 49:23 except the United States. 49:24 That's the only one that fits the time sequence, 49:27 that's the only one that will fit 49:28 into that prophecy. 49:30 Listen to what it says the United States will do. 49:34 "And he," United States, 49:37 "exercised all the authority of the first beast..." 49:43 That's the nondescript beast that has the seven heads 49:47 and two horns that we identified 49:49 as papal Rome, okay? 49:53 "And he exercised all the authority 49:55 of the first beast in his presence 49:57 and caused the earth..." 49:59 Caused what? 50:01 "The earth and those who dwell in it 50:05 to worship the first beast whose deadly wound was healed." 50:11 So it says the United States is going to give its power, 50:17 its authority to the beast. 50:19 It's what it says will happen. 50:22 And, dear friends, 50:23 I plead with you tonight, watch carefully. 50:28 Watch carefully the moves that are taking place 50:32 to unite church and state in this country. 50:37 Let me tell you a basic fact. 50:41 Many of the things that are said today 50:46 from those that are interested in bringing church 50:51 and state together are good things. 50:54 Don't misunderstand me. 50:56 Many of the things that are proposed are things 50:58 that need to be done. 51:01 Many of those things are things that we've gotten away 51:04 from that as a country we need to be doing, 51:07 they're good honorable things. 51:09 Don't misunderstand me. 51:11 But there is a basic fact 51:14 and the basic fact is simply this 51:17 that the pendulum does not stop. 51:22 You see, it doesn't stop. 51:24 It swings the whole way. 51:26 And so some of these things that we've gone way up here 51:30 and we do stupid things. 51:34 As a nation, 51:35 we do things that we shouldn't be doing 51:37 because we've let the pendulum swing way up here 51:42 and it needs to come back. 51:45 But unfortunately, 51:46 when you take church and church begins 51:49 to take over civil authority, 51:51 that pendulum's not going to stop in the middle, 51:54 it's going to swing right on up. 51:57 Like the old saying is, 52:00 let the camel get his nose in the tent, 52:02 and he will sleep with you. 52:05 And that is very, very true in this state 52:08 when church gets its nose in the civil government, 52:12 you better believe we're headed for some serious times. 52:16 So I want to just give you a kind of a glimpse 52:20 of what is beginning to happen, what's taking place? 52:25 Church and state working together. 52:32 Time Magazine, February 24, 1992. 52:36 "This was one of the great secret alliances 52:38 of all time. 52:40 Reagan and the pope agreed to undertake 52:42 a clandestine campaign 52:44 to hasten the dissolution of the Communist Empire. 52:49 Step by... 52:51 Reluctant step, the Soviets and the communist government 52:54 of Poland bowed to the moral, economical, 52:58 economic and political pressure imposed by the pope 53:02 and the President." 53:04 All of a sudden, 53:05 we find church and state working together. 53:12 It's beginning to move and bring all that together. 53:17 And when we do that, dear friend, 53:20 let me tell you something, 53:22 we are moving down a road that history 53:25 has told us will not work, won't work. 53:30 One other statement. 53:33 "One of the earliest goals, as President Reagan says, 53:37 was to recognize the Vatican as a state 53:41 and to make them an ally." 53:44 And thus the two-horned beast 53:47 caused the world to worship the first beast. 53:53 It's what it says. 53:55 So what am I trying to tell you? 53:57 I'm telling you that 53:59 where we are in this particular time, 54:01 is that we're beginning to see things 54:03 developing in Europe. 54:06 It says clearly in God's Word, 54:08 that those powers are going to work together 54:11 and they're going to give their authority 54:13 to the beast. 54:15 It says the United States is also going to give 54:19 its authority to that of the beast. 54:22 And thus you find that it says 54:24 that all the world wondered after the beast. 54:31 What it says is going to happen? 54:34 And thus we find that today you find the world leaders, 54:39 our President himself, seeking the council, 54:44 going there and talking, seeking the council, 54:46 hoping to work together. 54:48 And you find that happening at our present day. 54:53 2 Peter 1:19. 54:57 "And so we have the prophetic word confirmed, 55:01 which you do well to..." 55:04 What? Heed. 55:05 "Heed as a light that shines in a dark place." 55:10 Oh, dear friend, the prophetic word won't fail. 55:15 God is saying pay attention. 55:18 Look at it. 55:19 Give heed to it 55:20 because what God has said, He said, 55:23 I have told you before it comes to pass, 55:27 that when it comes to pass, 55:29 you'll recognize it and know it. 55:31 You see, prophecy is to tell you and I 55:35 where we're going. 55:37 It's what it tells us. 55:38 Where we're going is to tell us where we are? 55:42 And it's to tell us what we ought to do? 55:45 That is the purpose of prophecy. 55:47 And I have shared it with you night after night, 55:49 that you might know it, because it goes on and says, 55:54 "Until the day dawns..." 55:55 That's referring to the coming of Jesus Christ, 55:57 "Until the day dawns 55:59 and the morning start rises in your hearts." 56:03 And so, you have the prophetic word 56:07 that you and I can understand. 56:10 Revelation 17. 56:12 We've been studying it. 56:14 Now, folks... 56:19 in some ways I wish there was another beast. 56:25 I wish there was another one there 56:26 that I could say, well, 56:28 here's another one, but there isn't. 56:32 I mean, do you know where you go 56:33 after the Revelation Chapter 17? 56:38 It talks about this woman in the 18th Chapter, 56:40 19th Chapter 56:42 and after that you're in heaven. 56:45 That's where you're at. 56:47 I wished I could say, oh, here, 56:50 here's another beast but I can't. 56:52 Watch, listen to what it says here, 56:54 Revelation 17:14, "These..." 56:58 Do you know who these are? 57:01 Huh? 57:02 When it says these, who we've been talking about? 57:05 Ten kings. 57:07 "These will make war with the Lamb." 57:13 Are you getting the picture? 57:15 "These will make war with the Lamb, 57:17 the Lamb will overcome them, 57:21 for He is Lord of lords and King of kings, 57:26 and those who are with Him 57:29 are called chosen and faithful." 57:35 The Lamb will overcome them. 57:39 What you and I have to make. 57:40 Absolutely sure. 57:43 Has that we're called, we're faithful. 57:47 We're faithful. 57:48 We follow the Lord. 57:50 We follow what the Scripture says. 57:52 I build my belief on the Word of God 57:56 and I stand solidly on the Word of God. 57:59 And I don't let people move me off of the Scripture 58:03 because, dear friend, we're down to the end. 58:07 Jesus is coming back. 58:09 And you and I need to be ready for the coming of Jesus Christ 58:15 because He's coming. |
