00:01 Have you ever wondered
00:02 how to prepare healthy, tasty meals, 00:04 raw and cooked, that actually taste good? 00:07 Well, stay tuned while Evita Tezeno 00:09 and yours truly Nyse Collins 00:10 show you how to do so 00:12 and give you a Taste of Paradise. 00:31 As we go through the holidays 00:33 with all the smells throughout the house, 00:36 I have a vegan raw cheese ball 00:41 that will grace your table. 00:44 I can't wait to tell you about this recipe 00:47 because when we are setting a table for our guests, 00:51 we love to have finger food, 00:54 and most finger foods include a cheese plate, 00:58 but this is plant-based recipe 01:02 that will tantalize your taste buds 01:05 and make your guest be amazed. 01:09 So let's get to the recipe. 01:13 For the Sharp Cheddar Cheese Ball, 01:15 you need: 01:49 For the coating, you need: 01:55 So we're gonna do the coating first. 02:00 So we're just gonna grind up the almonds first. 02:16 So it could be a little chunky but you wanna then 02:20 just lay it out on your chopping board. 02:26 And then we'll get our cashews first. 02:30 And these have been soaked overnight 02:32 and makes it easier for the machine to work with 02:35 when they're soaked. 02:37 We have our coconut oil. 02:43 And we're gonna wait and put the yeast flakes in last. 02:47 So we're gonna put all of our liquid ingredients in first. 02:50 So we have our tahini, 02:56 our sun dried tomatoes, 03:00 our onions, 03:05 maple syrup, 03:09 smoked paprika, 03:17 we have our lemon juice, 03:21 our sea salt, 03:24 our cayenne, 03:28 and we're gonna mince our garlic. 03:34 Garlic is so good in recipes. 03:37 I love a lot of garlic. 03:45 So now we process this. 04:01 And you wanna make sure 04:02 that you incorporate everything, 04:04 so you want to scrape the sides. 04:08 Make sure that everything is incorporated. 04:20 And the yeast flakes is the secret weapon 04:23 in this recipe 04:25 because it adds that cheesy flavor that we all love. 04:33 So we pour in our yeast flakes 04:34 and this also kind of binds it together. 05:00 So now we have... 05:08 And it's a little wet right now, 05:11 so we're just gonna pour it on our chopping board 05:17 and you can also pour it 05:21 on a plate of some kind. 05:25 And you wanna kind of mould it, 05:28 just like so. 05:31 It's a little messy, but I'm telling you, 05:33 you're gonna love this recipe. 05:35 And we're gonna roll it in the almonds. 05:41 And then we want to place this in this refrigerator 05:46 for a couple of hours. 05:50 So let me go get the finished product. 05:59 This will grace your table this holiday season. 06:02 Look how beautiful it is. 06:04 And we're serving it with some raw crackers. 06:06 On several other programs, 06:08 I've done a couple of raw crackers 06:11 but you can serve it with any crackers of your choosing. 06:14 This has been Evita Tezeno 06:16 again with a nice and great holiday recipe for you. 06:21 And remember to live life fresh. 06:31 Holiday times come and go 06:33 and we always remember the good memories 06:34 of hanging out with family and friends 06:36 and eating delicious meals 06:38 and having nice drinks of that delicious juice. 06:41 Well, today, you know what I think about juice. 06:44 I use it only special occasions. 06:46 Even the Bible says that too. 06:48 And holidays is a special occasion. 06:50 Sabbath is a special occasion. 06:51 But many times, 06:53 we buy this juice and, you know, 06:55 it may have different additives and all of that stuff. 06:58 But we want to show you how to do your own juice, 07:01 something that is luscious from the vine, the grapes, 07:04 and the deliciousness of it, and something that's lasting. 07:07 So when you put into working, you make it, 07:10 it needs a hold on overtime. 07:12 And so how we can do that, you're gonna see now. 07:15 I've invited a special guest, a friend of mine, 07:17 to show us how to make this delicious, luscious, 07:20 and lasting, watch it now, you know. 07:22 I don't want to get in trouble there 07:24 but we are gonna learn how to can grape juice 07:27 but also how to make it as well. 07:29 Welcome, Donna, to the show. 07:31 Thank you for having me. 07:32 All right, you ain't showing me no love up here. 07:33 We family, we family. 07:35 Look at that. AMEN. 07:36 Well, we're gonna learn how to do this 07:38 but before we get into, 07:39 look at the luscious grapes and stuff like that. 07:42 Before we get there, 07:43 tell us a little bit about yourself. 07:44 I know you're a nurse or you're in the miracle 07:48 giving business there. 07:50 What else do you do? 07:52 I'm a nurse and a social worker. 07:53 A nurse and a social worker, 07:55 and her first and foremost work is ultimately 07:57 a wife and... 07:59 Mother. 08:00 And a mother. And a mother as well. 08:02 Well, you know what? 08:03 Just talking about miracles and stuff like that, 08:04 when we think about juice, 08:06 that was actually one of the first miracles, 08:10 one of the first miracles was Jesus making some juice here. 08:14 That's right. Yeah. 08:16 And so we're gonna learn how to do that, 08:18 but tell us a little bit more. 08:20 You've been doing this quite sometime 08:22 or how did you come around to making some... 08:24 My mom always canned, 08:27 my mom canned, growing up, my mom, 08:29 my grandmother always stored everything, 08:31 canned everything, 08:33 so I remember as a kid, 08:35 can we please have some things store bought. 08:37 And now, I regret it 08:38 because now I wanna do was around me 08:42 and now that my grandmother has passed away, 08:44 I wish I had taken the time to learn everything. 08:46 So I find myself now older, 08:48 trying to do what they did back in the day. 08:50 Look at that. 08:51 And you know what, y'all? I'm gonna keep it real. 08:53 When we stepped into Donna's house, 08:56 literally, don't take it the wrong way, 08:58 it was like we were stepping back in time. 09:00 Watch it now, watch it now, watch it now. 09:01 The house was remodelled 09:03 and it was looking good and stuff 09:04 but the cans and stuff, she had the grape juice, 09:07 she had the canned jam. 09:10 Apple sauce, jams. 09:11 Apple sauce, some exotic honeys 09:13 I've never even heard off before. 09:14 She had it there. 09:16 So it was like a weird twilight zone or whatever 09:19 'cause we were in, you know, 09:21 new millennium now that we're in 09:23 but then you had stuff 09:24 that you could only think of years ago. 09:27 And so you've been doing that. 09:28 And it was crucial that you said, 09:29 you learned a little bit there from your grandma. 09:31 Right, I learned from my mom, my grandma, like I said, 09:33 they can, they can, they can, 09:35 and then, as a kid growing up, 09:36 I didn't want anything to do with it 09:38 until my senior year, 09:40 I had to take a home-ec class 09:41 'cause I thought I could graduate 09:43 and avoid home-ec and I found... 09:44 Uh, it popped. 09:46 So it's popping already. I'm telling you. 09:47 So it's sealing itself. 09:49 You guys are gonna learn how to do that in a little bit. 09:50 Right, right, it's popping. 09:51 So you've done that home economics and stuff. 09:53 I had to take the home-ec and I found... 09:54 They don't teach that no more. 09:55 That's a shame. 09:57 It's a shame, it's a shame. They need to teach home-ec. 09:58 You notice what she said that 10:00 when she was small she wanted the store bought things, 10:01 but Mom and grandma was faithful, 10:03 and they said, "Look, 10:04 you really don't know any better. 10:05 Let me teach you." 10:07 And now look at her in her age. 10:10 Watch it now. 10:11 You're not old at all. 10:13 And that's funny because my mom tried to force me 10:15 to play the piano and she gave me the option, 10:18 and it was sad, yeah. 10:19 I choose football over playing the piano. 10:22 And that was the one thing she gave me the option on 10:24 and that was the one thing I regret not doing. 10:25 Right. 10:27 Was learning how to play the piano. 10:28 So please, parents, get your kids in line. 10:30 They may not know what is best 10:32 but teach them how to take care of themselves, 10:34 how to do the things at home 10:36 because when they get older, they will appreciate it. 10:38 So we're gonna make some luscious 10:41 and lasting grape juice. 10:43 Grape juice, now these, where do we get these? 10:45 So these are concord grapes 10:46 and because I live in Northwestern 10:49 or Northern Indiana, 10:51 I'm right there by the Michigan-Indiana line. 10:53 So I get access to all the fruit, 10:55 all the Michigan fruit, and everything. 10:58 So yes, I'm hard worker, yes, I'm a mom, 11:01 and yes, I have a job, and yes, I have kids and stuff, 11:03 but I like to pick. 11:05 I like to get my own stuff. 11:07 So you went out and picked your own grapes. 11:09 These are full. And look at these. 11:11 For the purposes of this show, I did not pick them, 11:13 I bought them. 11:15 But yeah, we're gonna be picking tomorrow. 11:16 You got them from a place, 11:17 a farm or something of that nature. 11:19 So please get out in a country so you can have access, 11:21 direct access even if you have to buy them 11:23 or something like that. 11:25 And there's a couple of things that people can do, 11:26 there is farmer market, there's community gardens, 11:30 you just have to open your mouth 11:31 and ask a lot of questions. 11:33 Just to give you an example, 11:34 I was at Wal-Mart this morning 11:36 and I saw someone 11:37 and she looked Amish and I said, 11:41 "Hey, do you can?" 11:42 And she said, "I can." 11:43 And I said, "Where can I go find this, this, this, 11:45 the canning stuff, where can I get fresh fruit." 11:47 And literally, here in Thompsonville 11:48 she told me I can go here for my apples, 11:51 I can go here for my grapes, 11:52 I can go here from peaches, that kind of stuff. 11:54 Look at that, just a random person in a supermarket, 11:56 in a supermarket you met and you just asked, you know, 11:59 and I don't think the Amish people would take it personal 12:02 if you go like, "Hey, do you can or whatever?" 12:04 'Cause they pride themselves on that, 12:06 because self-sustaining and so you can learn how to do it. 12:09 So let's talk about some of those items 12:11 so we need these fresh grapes if you can. 12:13 Now what if we don't have access to fresh grapes, 12:15 can we buy them from the store? 12:16 You can buy them from the store and you can also, 12:18 you can go up and say, 12:20 "Hey, I want to speak to the manager 12:21 of the produce department." 12:22 What? 12:24 You don't necessarily have to pay the price 12:25 that is written on the bin. 12:26 You can go and say, 12:28 "Hey, if I were to buy all of your second, 12:30 so if I buy, you know, that whole palate right there, 12:34 what kind of deal could you do for me? 12:36 And they'll do that. 12:37 Mercy, Mercy. 12:39 Look another one is popping over here. 12:40 We're gonna talk about the popping here in a second 12:42 but you can literally go 12:44 and buy the stuff at the supermarket 12:46 for a fraction of the cost, you just, 12:48 we have not 'cause we ask not. 12:50 There is food coops, there is food banks, 12:53 there is all kind of places 12:54 where you can get fresh produce and grapes. 12:57 You can use regular grapes and stuff like that 12:59 because this one is a special one. 13:00 This looks like... 13:01 This is concord grapes and these are... 13:03 I'm gonna try one here. 13:04 Yeah, they're good, they're good. 13:06 But these are good for canning. 13:07 And that's what we're gonna do today. 13:08 So these are good for canning and they have those seeds, 13:10 make sure you can try your best to get with the seed, no? 13:13 Yes. 13:14 Because we don't want that seedless stuff, 13:15 we don't know what happened there 13:17 in a genetically modifying process. 13:18 If it has a seed, it's a fruit, 13:20 if it doesn't, it's a veggie. 13:22 If it's not none of the above, stay away from it all right. 13:25 Okay, so let me tell you the equipment that we need. 13:28 This is very helpful, a lid, it has a magnet on the end, 13:32 and this is so I can get my lids out of hot water. 13:34 Okay, so we're gonna need jars, 13:36 a lid, magnetized hook. 13:41 So I can get my hot lids out of the pot, okay? 13:44 If we don't have that, a fork would do? 13:46 Okay, yes. 13:48 Or your hands. 13:50 But yeah, be careful, be careful. 13:51 We don't want you to burn yourself. 13:53 And then you're gonna need jars, 13:55 we don't wanna use any jars like mayonnaise jars, 13:58 peanut butter jars, or anything like that 14:00 because those are for single use. 14:02 We want to use jars that are specifically made for canning. 14:05 So we're talking about mason jars. 14:07 Mason jars. 14:08 Yes, where can you get jars? 14:09 Find any elderly person that you know at church, 14:13 community center, whatever. 14:14 Go to goodwill, go to your resale places, 14:17 and find where you can get jars. 14:19 I have bought jars. 14:21 It's cheap as tin. 14:23 Sometimes people have given them to me for free. 14:26 And then I do have a rule. 14:27 I got to tell you my rule, if you get my juice, 14:32 you must bring my jar bag. 14:33 If you don't bring my jar bag, you're cut off. 14:35 Really? 14:37 And I'm telling you, 14:38 people run to give me jars back. 14:40 She literally threatened us before when we came by, 14:43 she gave us some of the jams and the juice and stuff, 14:45 she was like, "You don't bring these jars back, 14:47 you in trouble." 14:48 So we did make a little mistake and we almost didn't bring them 14:51 and we just went ahead and bought her new ones 14:53 and you see, she's with us now. 14:55 So we're still cool. We're still cool. 14:56 But that's a good way. 14:58 But that's how you get your jars back, 14:59 because I mean, I give away this juice 15:01 and the stuff that I make, 15:03 I give it away for Christmas gifts 15:04 and we'll talk about that in a little bit but I just, 15:06 there's nothing like something from the heart. 15:09 And everybody knows, yes, Donna is busy 15:11 but if you get something from the heart, 15:13 you knew that I took time, 15:15 I picked them just for you. 15:16 So anyway, God is good. 15:18 Cool news. Cool news. 15:19 And then you have these lids, 15:20 now these are some special lids. 15:22 Those are gonna go on top 15:23 when we can and that will help with the seal. 15:26 And then I also have these. 15:27 These are really good to pick up 15:29 your hot jar like that. 15:31 You pick up your hot jar, 15:32 so we're gonna get to how to get them hot and stuff. 15:34 Now that little lid over here is the... 15:38 This little lid, it's going to act as a seal. 15:41 Now why are we putting it in the hot water here? 15:42 We're putting it up so that we can get a good seal 15:45 and that we can get a hot firm seal. 15:47 Sort of seal like that. 15:48 And you'll see in just a minute. 15:50 Okay, so we have that, then... 15:51 So there's a couple of ways that we can can grapes. 15:55 Back in the day, my mom actually had one of these, 15:57 and you can find some of these sometimes, 16:00 there's elderly individuals who have these 16:01 or you can go to like a farm 16:03 and flea kind of store or whatever. 16:05 You mean, at least to make the juice. 16:07 Exactly, exactly. 16:08 And so what we do is we heat up our grapes 16:11 and I'll explain this tiered system. 16:12 What is this whole thing there? 16:14 Man this is the way I do it because I've invested, 16:17 you know what? 16:18 It's a little price, it's a little investment, 16:21 but I'm telling you, you can use it 16:23 over and over and over again. 16:24 If you don't have a canner, 16:26 when you go and start talking to people, 16:28 they have stuff, and a lot of times, 16:30 they're so excited that you're excited about canning, 16:33 they'll let you use it. 16:35 And so for the first couple of years, 16:36 I actually borrowed a steamer. 16:39 So this is a steamer. This is a steamer. 16:40 This is like a tri-state area steamer, 16:44 'cause it has like three levels and stuff like that. 16:45 It has three levels. 16:47 Now you can find this at the store or also, right? 16:49 What kind of store? 16:50 Any kind of farm, flea hardware. 16:55 There you go, a hardware store. 16:56 Farm, flea, hardware store as well, they carry this? 16:58 Yes, they do. 17:00 I bought this from a hardware store. 17:01 A hardware store? A hardware store. 17:02 Okay, what is it? 17:04 It's a steamer? It's a steamer. 17:05 Three level steamer. 17:06 It's a three level steamer. 17:08 Now I'm gonna give you an example. 17:09 So if I had this at home... 17:11 What's this? This is a strainer. 17:13 So basically, what I would do is 17:15 I would take these grapes 17:16 and I would put them in a pot 17:17 and just a little bit of water so they can steam, 17:19 or you can put, water in a pot, 17:23 and then sit another pot on top, 17:25 and just let it steam that way, 17:27 whatever you need to do to work it out. 17:29 And then once they steam down, this is what... 17:32 Let me get... 17:34 Once they've steamed down, this is what it looks like. 17:36 It looks like this. 17:38 Donna, let's see that here real quick. 17:39 Yes. Let me grab this. 17:40 So basically, I'm gonna pull this over here. 17:42 I hope you all are following here. 17:44 This is what it looks like. 17:45 So this will go in the top level, right? 17:46 This thing is out in a pit house. 17:48 Exactly. 17:49 So this is like pulp, this is seeds, this is skin. 17:52 So this used to be that, that used to be the grapes. 17:53 Exactly. 17:55 And then now it's been steamed up 17:57 and this is what it looks like. 17:58 And if I were to put this in there, 18:00 which we will not do today, 'cause that's, you know... 18:02 And then you use this grinding system. 18:06 And then it goes into in through. 18:07 And then what comes out is what you end up with, 18:10 you can end up with juice, pulp, jam, 18:13 whatever you wanna do with it. 18:14 And we'll explain it. 18:15 Okay, so I'll put this back in here. 18:17 And we're gonna put this over here. 18:18 Now we put a whole bunch of grapes in here, 18:19 how much grapes would you say? 18:21 I got a half a bushel of grapes. 18:22 Half a bushel. 18:23 And so this is probably three quarters of a bushel of grapes 18:26 that I put in there. 18:27 So three quarters. So, this is... 18:28 I'll just show you, so that's about... 18:30 So let's just say there real quick. 18:31 So here you have is a bushel or so. 18:35 Yeah, you know, basically, what, a big, 18:38 two handfuls... 18:39 Yes. 18:41 What do you say? 18:42 You're over there laughing at me here. 18:43 So here we go, two handfuls times... 18:45 So six handfuls. 18:46 Oh, great. Okay. 18:47 Is that all right? 18:49 Whatever you say, 18:50 I will not question your calculations. 18:52 About six handfuls of grapes, 18:54 good delicious grapes that we'll put them here. 18:57 Now, let me explain this system. 18:58 Okay. 19:00 Here is, just for you, I got this the other night. 19:03 Really? For me? 19:04 So just for you. 19:06 Thank you. Let me get that. 19:07 Okay, so this is a three-tier system. 19:09 And this is basically how it works. 19:10 So my boiling water will go on the first tier. 19:12 So that's the bottom. This is the bottom. 19:14 And this is the one that you still need to watch 19:16 because once the boil boils down, 19:19 you wanna make sure that you're refilling water in this. 19:21 Yeah, always keep the water in there. 19:22 Because if you don't and you burn, 19:23 your grape juice is gonna smell like burnt grape juice. 19:25 Not cool. 19:26 How do you have burnt grape juice? 19:28 Not cool. 19:29 If you burn a grape juice, something ain't right here. 19:30 You have to toss it all out. 19:32 You don't want to taste the paradise closely. 19:33 Exactly. So this is my next system. 19:34 This is called the drip chamber. 19:37 So it looks like this and it has a funnel, 19:39 fits like this, slides in there. 19:42 It has a funnel and this is my clamp. 19:45 And so basically when my juice is ready, 19:47 it actually backs up into this funnel. 19:50 I have my clamp 19:51 and I just clamp it right here to the side. 19:53 All right. Awesome. 19:55 So that's the second level and... 19:56 This is the top level. 19:57 This is... This is the juice. 19:59 So the second level is the juice catcher. 20:00 Yeah, exactly, my drip chamber. 20:02 Okay, so this is where my grapes go, 20:04 right in here. 20:06 And literally, it is literally like, 20:08 that's all you do. 20:09 Put the grapes, fill it in, 20:11 and then you put the top on, 20:13 and you've got juice. 20:14 All right, now this is a bit weird question. 20:16 What if you just have a steamer, 20:17 'cause a lot of people have those steamers, 20:19 is there any way that can work or not really quite, maybe so? 20:22 What do you mean? If it's specifically... 20:23 You know, people who just have the steamer 20:25 pots and stuff like that. 20:27 So they just have one for water... 20:28 You could. 20:29 The thing is that you would probably have to do 20:31 like cheese cloth or something like that 20:32 so it can drip through 20:34 because what is not going in the juice 20:37 is seeds and skins. 20:39 No offense, but I don't want you picking stuff 20:41 out of your teeth after you drink my juice. 20:43 While you're drinking juice. No offense. 20:44 I just think that's wrong. 20:45 Now a quick question, how much is this unit here. 20:47 This is like 150 bucks. A 150 bucks. 20:50 And this is stainless steel. 20:51 You can get some that are aluminum, you know, 20:55 it's hard enough that you get aluminum 20:57 in a lot of things that we eat, 20:58 whether you want it or not. 21:00 So for the purposes of this, I'm all about stainless steel. 21:03 You ready for this calculation. I'm ready. 21:04 We added it out. 21:06 We calculated that each family in general 21:08 who use and drinks juice. 21:10 If they stop drinking juice, 21:11 you can save almost $1200 a year. 21:14 So you can afford that. 21:15 A $150 is a drop in a bucket, literally. 21:18 And you can buy it. 21:20 But watch this, and when they do drink juice, 21:21 they're buying the premium ones. 21:23 What we thought was the premium. 21:25 Yes. That's not premium. 21:26 This is what we consider premium. 21:28 So let me tell you what this is. 21:29 This is my juice 21:32 with maybe another quarter of water 21:36 Okay. 21:38 And maybe another quart of water. 21:39 So this is washed down a little bit. 21:40 This is washed down a little bit. 21:42 So this is the truth right here. 21:43 This is the truth. The truth will set you free. 21:45 Amen. Amen. 21:46 You will be free and you will go freely to the restroom, too. 21:48 What? What happened? 21:50 'Cause the benefit of grapes is, 21:51 it helps to keep things... 21:52 It does, it does. 21:54 Basically, you will not have a problem. 21:57 Amen, amen. 21:59 So you won't have a problem. Let's keep it moving. 22:00 We're trying to get some juice here. 22:02 So we have some grapes going. So we have some grapes going. 22:04 So basically this is what happens. 22:06 Okay. 22:07 So I have my water 22:08 and I've actually turned this down 22:10 for the purposes of here. 22:11 All right, so we have the grapes, 22:13 it's going down. 22:14 I don't know if the camera can see, 22:15 we are overflowing with juice. 22:17 I don't know if the camera can get in here or not. 22:19 Now one of things that you did, 22:22 you have some of these bottles... 22:23 Yes. Okay. 22:25 Now let me tell you why I put those in the oven. 22:26 These are in the oven. These are in the oven. 22:28 So I've already cleaned these, you can hand wash them, 22:32 clean them however you need to clean them. 22:33 If you have a dish washer, 22:35 you can put them in the dish washer 22:36 and go ahead and clean it 22:37 and that will sterilize your jars. 22:39 If you don't have a dish washer, 22:41 there was one point in my life, I didn't have a dish washer, 22:44 and you know, interesting enough, 22:45 I have a dishwasher 22:46 and I'm still washing dishes by hand. 22:48 Have mercy. 22:49 But with this canning process, there's no hand washing. 22:51 Exactly. 22:52 So if you have a dish washer, 22:54 you can put them in the dish washer, 22:55 which will not only clean them, 22:56 it will sterilize them and everything like that. 22:58 If you don't, you can wash these by hand 23:00 and then fill up your sink 23:02 with very, very hot, hot, hot, hot water 23:04 and stick your jars in a sink with hot water. 23:07 If you want to do a different method, 23:09 you can get a pot of hot water and... 23:12 'Cause that's the way I've seen it. 23:13 Exactly. 23:14 And stick your jars in the pot. 23:16 You might only be able to get four jars in a pot. 23:18 Okay, all right, so big deep dish. 23:19 Now these have already been sterilized and cleaned 23:22 and I used a dish washer to do it. 23:24 So I wanna keep these hot 23:25 but I don't wanna take up all my space. 23:29 I don't want my countertop space 23:30 and everything like that. 23:32 So you put them in the oven? 23:33 So what I did is these have already been sterilized 23:34 so I stick them in the oven. 23:36 Here you go, 'cause these are hot now. 23:37 These are hot. Let me get that going. 23:38 So I put my oven on 200. 23:41 And let me just tell you this stuff is good. 23:43 So you guys ready? I'm so excited. 23:46 Okay, so... 23:48 I'm just trying to get some juice here. 23:49 Here is my hot glasses that have been sterilized, 23:53 ready to go, you don't even have to tilt it 23:55 because this thing is ready to go. 23:56 So this is warm. 23:58 Now we're gonna kind of do it at angle. 23:59 And, Nyse, you're gonna monitor that. 24:01 Please do not burn yourself. And here we go. 24:03 All right, so I hope y'all can see 24:05 what we're about to do up here. 24:08 So this is how much juice is in there 24:10 that we can do it. 24:12 Look at that, look at that, look at this. 24:13 This is coming out. It's all beautiful. 24:15 Man, this has so many antioxidants, 24:17 it's got iron in it, it's got potassium, 24:20 it's got vitamin A, 24:22 vitamin B6, folic acid. 24:24 Okay, we don't want to fill it all the way to the top. 24:26 You can have a baby with this juice here. 24:29 All right, so I'll put that back 24:31 so it doesn't come out. 24:33 Yeah, we're gonna come back over here. 24:35 Okay, so my juice is hot. 24:37 So this is hot now. 24:39 And it's crucial that we sterilize it because... 24:40 We also want to clean the top. 24:42 We don't want any residue 24:44 because we want to get a good fit. 24:45 We're also gonna just take this, 24:47 so we've wiped the top off, we're gonna put this on here, 24:50 and then we're gonna seal it. 24:52 Not, I mean, just tight but not so tight 24:55 that you cannot open it up. 24:57 And we're just gonna sit it over here to the side. 24:59 So I'm gonna move that. Sit it to the side. 25:00 Oh, these are warm over here. 25:02 And literally I do not have to reheat this again 25:05 because of the heat of the juice, 25:06 the heat of the jars, it will seal itself. 25:09 So that's where you get that... 25:10 That's where you hear the pop. 25:12 You hear that pop. You hear the pop. 25:13 When you open up cans and stuff like that. 25:14 This is the same process that 25:16 these companies were doing for so many years. 25:17 So that store bought that 25:18 you were talking about that we wanted to, 25:20 you can do it yourself, ladies and gentlemen. 25:23 We're in a recession here. 25:24 We need to start doing these things ourselves 25:26 because we never know when stuff will shut down. 25:29 I can imagine people in hurricanes and Katrina 25:31 and stuff like that, 25:33 when you are stuck for ten days, 25:34 it would have been nice to have 25:35 a couple of these things rolling there. 25:37 And also where we live in Northern Indiana, 25:40 we had tornado storms that come through 25:42 and they shut out the electricity, 25:44 yes, we have back up generators or whatever. 25:45 But while everybody has all this perishable food 25:48 and everything like that, we've got canned goods 25:51 and it's never a problem for us with food. 25:52 Look at that. 25:54 And it's probably a fraction of the cost. 25:55 It's a fraction of the cost. 25:57 So I have stopped buying store bought juice, 25:59 I do buy orange juice, I love orange juice. 26:00 But just like you said, juice in our family, 26:04 we were not allowed to have Kool-Aid at all, 26:06 we were not allowed to drink pop at all, growing up, 26:09 and juice was just for Sabbath. 26:11 Look at that, y'all. Watch this. 26:13 Here it is, she said it. 26:14 I have a teammate here. 26:16 Juice was just for a Sabbath. 26:17 The Bible talks about juice and it does say that 26:19 they had it during special occasions. 26:21 When? 26:22 weddings, festivals, feasts, and stuff like that. 26:24 Jesus even rolled up into the party, 26:26 He was like, what happen to the juice. 26:27 His mom, His mom was like, "What did you say. 26:30 You got me drinking water all week." 26:32 Now there's a wedding, 26:33 let's make some juice, you know. 26:35 So this is only for special occasions. 26:36 Now I'll be honest with you. 26:37 Normally, I can about 200 quarts of this. 26:40 Two hundred of them. 26:42 So after canning this, 26:43 I'm not touching juice for a while. 26:44 So it's a one time process, you're done for the whole year, 26:46 like literally, this one... 26:48 So this will last, 26:49 this is actually the juice that I have up here is 26:51 from a year ago that I made. 26:54 Okay, so we got to open this up, yeah. 26:56 This is one year, one year old juice. 27:00 You sure this ain't wine, you know, 'cause... 27:01 It's not wine. 27:02 All right, here I'm gonna let you open that one now. 27:04 We're gonna gingerly open it. 27:06 Did you hear that? 27:08 You heard that, that seal pop? 27:09 Did you hear that? Did you hear that pop? 27:10 Okay, and oh, my goodness. 27:12 Wait, do I need to shake it. 27:13 No, you don't need to shake anything. 27:14 You don't need to shake it. 27:16 Now, this is the real deal, 27:18 no additives, no preservatives. 27:20 You can smell it first. You can just smell it. 27:21 It doesn't even smell like 27:22 anything you've ever smelled for. 27:24 Amen, amen. 27:26 I just sniffed into this one, you want to sniff as well? 27:28 You're right. 27:30 All right, so she's gonna get that... 27:31 Are you regular? 27:32 Well, I'm decent. Amen, amen. 27:35 But I'm gonna try this. Okay, so here it goes. 27:37 Now before we go, real quick. 27:39 Because we want the luscious, lasting... 27:41 All this, all of this extra step, 27:43 what I have done is I've taken all that seeds 27:48 and I've actually ran it through champion 27:50 and we've gotten this. 27:52 And this is what we made, so you'll have some of it. 27:53 And we'll show you how to do that next time. 27:55 Yeah, yeah, check it out. 27:56 Here it is, the juice. 27:57 Here it is. There you go. |
