00:34 Hi, boys and girls.
00:36 I'm so glad that you've joined us
00:38 for some fun in the kitchen.
00:40 And today, I have some special helpers.
00:44 I have Mr. Carter.
00:45 Hi.
00:47 And Miss Rachel.
00:48 Hi.
00:50 And Mr. Daniel.
00:51 Hi.
00:52 And Miss Summer.
00:54 Hi.
00:55 And I have a question for all you, boys and girls.
00:57 Who likes apples? I do.
00:59 I!
01:00 Oh, good thing.
01:03 And who likes some yummy dip to put their apples in?
01:07 Me!
01:08 Oh, that's what we're gonna have.
01:11 Now I have another question.
01:13 Is anybody allergic to peanuts?
01:16 Not me.
01:18 Oh, good.
01:20 Because today, boys and girls,
01:22 we're gonna make a yummy apple dip
01:26 and it's a peanut butter apple dip.
01:28 That sounds really good.
01:29 Doesn't it sound good?
01:31 We have...
01:33 Back at home,
01:34 we have an apple tree by our garden.
01:36 You do?
01:38 What kind of apples?
01:41 Crabapples.
01:43 Oh, are they cranky?
01:49 They just call them crabapples.
01:53 Has anybody been to an apple orchard
01:55 and picked apples?
01:57 I don't think.
01:58 I want to. Me too.
02:00 Does anybody...
02:01 We have an apple orchard back home in Michigan.
02:05 You do?
02:07 I would love to have an apple orchard
02:11 because do you know that there's
02:12 lots of different kinds of apples?
02:15 Mm-hmm.
02:17 Yeah, there's yellow apples and red apples and...
02:21 Green apples. Green apples.
02:24 I like the red apples.
02:25 You like the red apples?
02:26 I like green apples.
02:28 You know what I like?
02:29 I like the hard crispy apples.
02:31 I like them too.
02:32 You like them too? Mm-hmm.
02:34 And I've eaten a crabapple before,
02:36 they're a little sour, huh?
02:38 Yeah, they're a little sour.
02:41 Well, let's get started on our dip.
02:44 And, boys and girls, if you have a peanut allergy,
02:48 you can just add...
02:50 You don't have to add the peanut butter,
02:53 you can just leave that out, okay?
02:56 So, Daniel and Summer, you work on this dip here.
03:01 And, Carter and Rachel, you work on this, okay?
03:05 So, Carter and Summer,
03:07 you put in one cup of peanut butter.
03:10 And, Daniel and Rachel,
03:13 put in a half a cup of sugar, okay?
03:18 Find your half a cup. Good.
03:20 It'll say a one and then a line like a slash and two.
03:24 Find the one and a slash and a two.
03:26 Is that it?
03:28 Perfect, Rachel. That's it.
03:29 Now when you measure, boys and girls,
03:31 make sure you level it off and see you get a full cup.
03:36 You wanna fill your measuring cup to the top
03:40 and then use your knife.
03:42 There you go. Now level it off.
03:45 Perfect, guys.
03:46 That's awesome.
03:49 Good job.
03:51 And you've got the peanut butter.
03:53 Oh, I've got to get the Tofutti,
03:55 Better Than Cream Cheese
03:57 because we keep the cream cheese
03:59 in the refrigerator.
04:00 You know why? Why?
04:02 So it stays fresh and doesn't melt, okay?
04:05 So I've got some already measured out for you guys.
04:10 Is this good?
04:11 Yep, that's perfect.
04:12 You can put that in, Daniel.
04:14 You can put this in. Go ahead and dump it in, Rachel.
04:15 All of it? Uh-huh.
04:17 And you can put all of this in, Rachel, okay?
04:22 There you go.
04:23 And I'll just move the sugar so it'll be out of our way.
04:27 Miss Cinda, is this good?
04:29 Oh, that's perfect. Now put it in your bowl.
04:32 And then we just need one more ingredient.
04:37 Isn't this easy, boys and girls?
04:40 We just need one more ingredient.
04:43 That's what I love about this,
04:44 it's nice and easy and it tastes so good.
04:53 And you know what else?
04:55 Have you guys ever heard the song, "I like to eat, eat,
05:00 eat apples and bananas"?
05:04 Well, you could have a banana with this too.
05:07 You could dip your banana in this.
05:09 Wouldn't that be good?
05:12 What other kind of fruit do you think
05:14 you could eat with this?
05:17 Grapes.
05:18 I bet you could.
05:20 I bet it'd be good.
05:22 Oh, I think you guys are gonna like this.
05:25 Oh, you know what I need?
05:26 I need to get your almond milk.
05:28 Now, boys and girls,
05:31 you can use either almond milk or soy milk,
05:37 whatever your kind of favorite is,
05:39 and I used the original flavor, so.
05:42 But you could use
05:43 the vanilla-flavored almond milk
05:46 if you wanted, that's fine.
05:49 Okay, you're almost done with that, Carter.
05:51 And I'll have you measure
05:53 a half a cup of the almond milk.
05:56 And then why don't you let
05:57 Daniel stir a little bit, Summer,
05:59 and you can measure half a cup of the almond milk
06:02 with yours.
06:04 It's really hard to stir.
06:05 Is it hard to stir? Yeah.
06:07 You have to have muscles.
06:09 Rachel, you can start stirring if you want
06:11 and get all this peanut butter off the side here.
06:14 See, look. Let's stir like this.
06:16 And, boys and girls,
06:17 when you're stirring something,
06:18 make sure you hold your bowl while you're stirring, okay?
06:22 So you grab your bowl and hold it
06:24 while you're stirring 'cause if you don't,
06:26 then your bowl just goes all over the place
06:29 and then you'll have to chase your bowl, huh?
06:35 Who wants to go chase their bowl?
06:37 Not me.
06:39 Miss Cinda, look, I got a half a cup.
06:41 Perfect.
06:42 Okay, Rachel, you wanna find your half a cup.
06:45 Okay.
06:46 Perfect. And when you're measuring...
06:48 And, boys and girls,
06:49 can you see that
06:51 this is a different type of measure?
06:52 This is a liquid measuring cup,
06:56 and you always wanna set it down on a hard surface
07:00 when you're pouring.
07:01 Good job.
07:04 And I'm gonna take your cup to the kitchen sink
07:07 and I'm gonna put the almond milk back.
07:11 There we go.
07:12 Let's put this back
07:14 'cause we don't want that to spoil, do we?
07:18 Okay, now stir it up really, really good.
07:25 Oh, you wanna be careful not to splash, boys and girls.
07:31 See?
07:33 And then scrape it off the side.
07:36 And you can hold the bowl down here too, Daniel, if you want.
07:39 Like that, see?
07:41 Yeah, stir with one hand
07:43 and then you use your spatula to get it all around the sides,
07:46 okay?
07:48 Get it off the sides too.
07:49 You might have to go a little bit faster.
07:54 You know what, maybe I could get...
07:56 You know what, Carter, you know,
07:58 the cupboard over by the sink,
07:59 if you wanna go get some of your whisks,
08:02 maybe you could use some whisk to do this,
08:04 and I'll help you get it off the side here.
08:07 Do you see it?
08:08 It's right there
08:10 in the bottom drawer by the sink.
08:11 Oh, you're fast.
08:14 Yeah, why don't you guys use your whisks for this?
08:16 And I'll get all your peanut butter
08:18 off the side.
08:19 There you go.
08:20 Yep. Here, Rachel, I'll help you.
08:23 Use your whisk for this because, boys and girls,
08:26 you wanna make sure that you get
08:32 the Tofutti,
08:33 Better Than Cream Cheese and the peanut butter
08:35 all whipped together.
08:36 You want it to mix it really well.
08:38 Does the whips work better, guys?
08:40 Yes. That works really good.
08:41 Oh, you guys are almost ready to try it.
08:48 But whip it really fast
08:50 because you wanna get those little lumps out.
08:52 You don't want your Tofutti,
08:54 Better Than Cream Cheese to be all lumpy,
08:56 you want it to be real smooth.
08:58 Can you go real fast?
08:59 Why don't you do one at a time
09:01 and see if you can go real fast?
09:03 So you let Carter go first and then let Rachel go.
09:07 Real fast, Carter.
09:10 Oh, good job.
09:14 Okay, now let Rachel do it.
09:15 Okay, now let Summer do it, Daniel.
09:18 Whip it really fast.
09:20 You guys almost have all your lumps out.
09:24 Oh, Daniel, I saw you tasting it.
09:26 Was it good?
09:29 You didn't think I saw you, did you?
09:33 But you know what, it's okay to taste while you're cooking,
09:37 that's part of the fun of cooking, isn't it?
09:40 Yes!
09:42 That's what I say.
09:43 I say you get to taste it while you're cooking.
09:46 You're washing your hands off?
09:48 Oh, thank you, Daniel.
09:50 That's nice of you to put that in the kitchen sink
09:54 because we wanna keep things clean, don't we?
09:57 Okay, good job.
09:59 Okay, keep going, Summer.
10:00 You want me to help you?
10:01 Yeah.
10:03 Is your arm getting a little tired?
10:05 You know, you could use electric mixer if you wanted,
10:10 but you guys are almost done.
10:12 Look at this. Whoa!
10:14 Look. Look inside there.
10:16 Oh, that looks so good.
10:17 Doesn't that look good?
10:21 You guys, I think, are done.
10:22 Let me go check the...
10:24 How are you guys doing over there, Carter?
10:25 Good.
10:27 Can I take it to the kitchen sink?
10:28 Okay, now what you gonna do...
10:30 Other ones are out.
10:32 Okay, why don't you take this and this to the kitchen sink
10:36 and your spatula to the kitchen sink too?
10:38 Looks like kind of like peanut butter.
10:39 It does? Does it taste good?
10:41 Yep.
10:47 It does taste good, doesn't it?
10:49 Okay. Oh, you guys are almost done.
10:50 Let me see.
10:52 Let me try yours.
10:54 Oh look, boys and girls.
10:57 Oh, you got some at the bottom that needs to be mixed in.
11:01 Whoa!
11:02 Who thinks I have big muscles?
11:04 Me!
11:06 Oh, do you think I have big enough muscles?
11:08 Oh, there we go.
11:12 Okay, there you go.
11:15 Now what you're gonna do is...
11:18 The last step on here is the best part.
11:20 It is, isn't it?
11:22 Yeah.
11:23 Okay.
11:24 Excuse me, Miss Cinda.
11:26 Can I take these to the kitchen sink?
11:27 Yes. Could you take this too?
11:28 Okay. And this cup too.
11:30 What should I do with this, Rachel?
11:32 It's all over my hand.
11:34 Lick it.
11:36 Like that?
11:41 Okay. Miss Cinda, I wanna try it.
11:44 It is good.
11:45 Is it good?
11:46 Okay, now, you guys,
11:48 put some for you and some for...
11:50 You guys each put some in a bowl.
11:51 With a spoon?
11:53 Yep. And while you're doing that...
11:54 I'm using this.
11:56 No, just use a spoon, okay?
12:01 And then while you're doing that,
12:02 I'm gonna...
12:04 I've already peeled the apples.
12:05 Oh, that's our kitchen timer.
12:07 We're almost out of time.
12:09 I'm gonna get your apples for you so you can taste this.
12:14 And you know what,
12:15 Miss Cinda has already made some
12:18 ahead of time so you all...
12:21 You can taste your own though
12:22 because you guys finished in time.
12:25 Look, boys and girls, doesn't that look good?
12:28 Look at that.
12:30 What do you think?
12:32 There's an apple for you.
12:35 Good thing we all wash our hands
12:36 before we come in the kitchen, huh?
12:39 There you go, Daniel, here's yours,
12:41 and you can try it now.
12:42 Would you like to try it, Rachel?
12:45 Oh, boys and girls, doesn't this look good?
12:48 And remember, if you're allergic to peanuts,
12:51 you can just leave the peanut butter out.
12:55 What do you think?
12:57 Good.
13:00 So you think bananas would taste good in it too?
13:04 Uh-huh.
13:06 What do you think?
13:09 It's really good.
13:11 You guys...
13:12 Now you see how easy this is?
13:14 You don't even need a stove,
13:16 you guys could make this
13:18 all by yourselves in the kitchen.
13:22 That's right.
13:24 You can go and you could say, "Mom, Dad,
13:26 could I make you a special treat?"
13:29 And you could go in the kitchen and you can make this.
13:33 You think you can make it all by yourself?
13:36 Yes? Mm-hm.
13:37 Uh-huh? It tastes really good.
13:39 It does? Mm-hmm.
13:41 Do you want another apple?
13:42 Oh, Carter does.
13:43 You want another apple?
13:45 Here, Daniel, here's another apple for you.
13:46 Here's another apple for you.
13:48 Oh, you guys are gonna love this.
13:52 And don't worry about the recipe,
13:54 you can just go on our Tiny Tot website
13:56 and you can get the recipe there.
14:00 That's our kitchen timer.
14:01 That's all the time we have for now.
14:03 Any time you can be in the kitchen, it's fun.
