I'm doing well... 01:01 I know our Viewers are anxiously awaiting the "Chew's Challenge" 01:07 what is "Chew's Challenge" 01:10 what can our Viewers expect from this Program? 01:12 Well, we actually are doing the 28-Day 01:15 Wellness Lifestyle Challenge 01:17 Okay... So we have a power-packed model 01:20 that we've created... a process that we've created 01:23 to help individuals just learn how to be healthy, 01:25 learn how to live healthy, and also learn about 01:27 Christ as well as being the foundation... 01:29 and so, it's a process that we kind of developed 01:32 in this Chew's Challenge Model... 01:34 Wow! that sounds amazing... I'm excited about it... 01:38 so, let's look in a little bit of your background... 01:41 Chef Chew, I'll start with you. 01:43 Well, I'm actually, right now, 01:45 I'm currently living in Oakland, California... 01:46 Okay... I'm working right now... 01:48 I'm about to open a Vegan Restaurant 01:49 in Oakland, California... 01:50 I actually serve as a Pastor as well... 01:53 so, I've been serving the Lord, in ministry 01:56 and I have a passion to help people to eat better, 02:00 live better, and again... 02:01 learn about the Lord Jesus Christ 02:03 just try to... just get them on a new journey 02:06 so, that's what I do... 02:07 You're starting a Vegan Restaurant... 02:11 A vegan restaurant... about 15 minutes outside of 02:13 San Francisco, right in downtown Oakland, California... 02:17 we're really excited... 02:19 That's kind of huge... we have so many people today 02:22 worried about their figure and how they look... 02:25 Exactly... and trying to... 02:26 especially in California... especially in California... 02:28 Exactly... Right... 02:30 So, let's talk about your background Chef Lawson... 02:32 Where are you from? 02:33 Well, I'm just a young man 02:35 that's trying to just take over the world for Christ... so... 02:37 I live in Sacramento, California too... 02:39 I'm working up an opening... doing the restaurant work with 02:42 Chef Chew... we have an Organization called 02:45 "Something Better Foods" and also, I'm working down in 02:47 Sacramento with an Organization called, 02:49 "Christ Frontline Operation" so we're trying to evangelize 02:52 that area... so I'm an Elder of the Church... 02:54 husband of one wife, and father of three daughters... 02:57 Amen... all right... all right 02:59 husband of one wife... that's how it's supposed to be. 03:02 I'm happy you made that decision all right... now... now... 03:06 Oh boy! how is this Program structured? 03:10 Well, we developed a concept, we call it the FORK System... 03:14 Okay... and the FORK System 03:15 is pretty much an acronym... the "F" stands for Faith, 03:19 the "O" stands for Organization, the "R" stands for Recipes, 03:23 and the "K" stands... you want to guess? 03:26 Knowledge... you got it... there you go... 03:29 it stands for knowledge... that's right... so... 03:31 it's pretty much that's kind of the model 03:33 that we're going to be using... in this whole Program... 03:36 we're going to start out with a little "Faith Tip" 03:40 you know... we want to go right from the Word 03:42 and learn... right from Christ a little principle of the Bible 03:45 we're going to go to "Organization" 03:47 and we're going to have "Organizational Tips" 03:49 we going to be talking about everything from 03:51 organizing your kitchen... 03:52 everything from organizing your life 03:54 your personal life... 03:55 also, how to use various kitchen tools... 03:58 in the kitchen... a lot of times 04:00 you don't know how to use, let's say a Rice Cooker 04:03 or different tools needed to be able to cook healthy, 04:06 cook vegan-type foods... and so, then we're going to have 04:09 recipes... and that's going to be really neat... 04:11 we're going to have almost 28 different recipes 04:12 sorry, 28 times 2... what's that? 04:15 come on... 56... there we go, there you go... exactly... 04:22 we got about 56 recipes... 04:23 during this whole process as well... 04:25 at the very end... we kind of cap it off with the knowledge 04:29 we ask three questions... 04:31 that kind of re-cap what we've talked about... 04:33 in the entire Program that we've done... 04:36 and so it's power-packed man... it's intense, a lot of change, 04:40 a lot of variations so it kind of keeps you just 04:42 glued to the screen by God's grace... 04:43 yeah... yeah... That's a phenomenal concept 04:46 because not only are you getting great recipes... healthy recipes 04:51 Exactly... recipes that are good for you 04:53 but it tastes good as well... 04:54 but you're also learning how to be organized... 04:56 Exactly... 04:57 you're learning how to establish 04:59 a deeper faith... Exactly... 05:02 and you're re-capping on everything 05:04 through the knowledge section... 05:07 How did you even come up with that? 05:10 Well, Tim, do you want to take this one? 05:12 We recognize that people's lives are multi-faceted... 05:15 so we don't want to just have a cooking show 05:17 where we just cook... because that wouldn't reach 05:19 people at all facets of their lives... 05:21 and Number Two... we recognize that health 05:23 is really connected with their spirituality... 05:25 Hmmm... and so we didn't just want to 05:26 bring the people up physically, 05:28 we wanted to bring them up spiritually... 05:30 and so we thought of a Show that has different segments 05:32 where people can go on a little 28-minute journey 05:35 with this... and then a 28-day journey... 05:37 as it were... and so... 05:39 that's how we came up with the concept 05:40 Exactly... and also, we wanted to have something 05:42 that will be practical... a lot of times you can learn 05:44 how to cook but you might not know how to begin 05:46 or actually implement that lifestyle... 05:48 we wanted to give people all the... 05:50 the holistic tools... 05:52 that the individual would need 05:54 to be able to go on this journey so again, the faith, 05:57 again... it gives you the Bible tools... 05:59 if you follow me... so, again, it's found in the Word 06:01 Organizational Tools... again, we're going to go on to 06:03 the kitchen... show you how to make a different station 06:05 in your kitchen... a "Salad Station" 06:06 so, we're going to show you how to make a "Grain Station" 06:09 we're going to show you how to do a... 06:10 all your different sweeteners... how to set up your whole kitchen 06:13 so it can be organized... you know, so again... 06:15 the tools are practical... 06:16 things that you can take with you 06:18 and use... right now... starting when you learn it 06:20 and begin implementing it immediately in your life... 06:22 and so... yeah... We wanted you to... 06:25 if you didn't know anything about how to live a 06:27 vegetarian or vegan lifestyle... 06:28 we wanted you to be able to know nothing... 06:30 watch the show... 06:31 and then walk away with knowing just about everything... 06:34 every tool that you need... 06:35 Exactly... exactly... 06:36 Wow! so again, physically fed and spiritually fed... 06:39 You got it, that's it, that's it It's a Combo... 06:40 You said something earlier that kind of reminds me of 06:44 living a healthier lifestyle, God has placed some laws... 06:49 in the Bible... the Commandments 06:51 not to be a burden to us... but to help us live longer, 06:57 healthier, more fruitful lives Exactly... 07:00 and I think... that's one of the huge 07:03 or the biggest things that I've learned... 07:05 is that... it's not meant to be a burden on us... 07:08 but to keep us and protect us... Exactly... exactly... 07:12 and that's so true... you know God gives us the... 07:16 the Bible says in the book of Deuteronomy... 07:17 that His Commandments are for life... 07:20 so, the Commandments and Laws, many times we look at God 07:23 like He's Godzilla... you know, and if we don't do what God says 07:26 then we're going to get zapped, He's going to come and bite us 07:28 or we kind of look at this God as a "Zapping God" 07:31 rather than realizing that what God has given us 07:33 is for our own benefit... you know, again each Commandment 07:36 every law that God gives... even Laws that He's given 07:39 that governs our bodies... if we follow with His laws... 07:42 the body in essence... reacts... in a healthy way... 07:44 if we work out... what happens? 07:46 We start looking, getting a little buff, 07:48 you know what I'm saying... we start getting fit... 07:50 and so, everything again... the things that He's given us 07:52 the Laws of Life, the Laws of His Word, 07:54 are only for our benefit... that's the blessing... 07:57 There are real... 07:59 there are bad things in the world... 08:01 there's real evil in the world, 08:03 there are real diseases in the world, 08:05 so if God is loving, and God is a father, 08:07 then, He's going to want to protect us 08:09 from these things and like you said, 08:11 "The Commandments are that protective barrier" 08:13 the moral and the physical elements... 08:15 Amen... Amen... 08:16 Now, have you done this 28-day challenge before 08:19 have you done a challenge similar to this or... 08:22 We actually have... believe it or not... 08:25 I've actually been having restaurants 08:28 for the last 7 or 8 years... and then those experiences... 08:31 we have been able to run those Programs in our restaurant... 08:35 I've been able to do it in a personal level 08:37 to give you a success story, there was a lady 08:39 who was actually... who was on our Program... 08:42 she lived in D.C. and she didn't know anything 08:44 about eating healthy... she actually had a very 08:47 sedentary lifestyle... she was really overweight... 08:49 she had a skin disease called Eczema... 08:52 and believe it or not... she was in our Program 08:54 a little longer than 28 days but pretty much 08:57 in about 40 days... she lost almost 40 pounds... 09:00 it was amazing to see the progress that she had... 09:03 her skin began clearing up, I mean, she began to... 09:06 she was a Christian as well... 09:07 she was drawing closer to the Lord... 09:09 and I ended up moving away... so I didn't get to stay with her 09:13 longer than those 40 days... but the Lord really, really made 09:17 tremendous impact in her life... and so... 09:20 I mean, I have tons of success stories that God has done 09:22 similar to that... but it really does work, man... 09:24 it really does work... 09:25 So, you mean, you can take a person 09:27 that eats a little unhealthy maybe like steak... 09:32 maybe likes some chicken, maybe likes some French fries, 09:35 some ice cream at midnight, you know... something like that 09:38 and you can transform that diet like that 09:42 and with good food? Yes... 09:43 yes, you'd better believe it... I'll give you another story... 09:45 a lady... she was a doctor... 09:46 she was a doctor and she was a lawyer... 09:49 it's pretty interesting... she was a very educated woman 09:52 she worked also, in the DC-Maryland area... 09:54 and believe it or not... she actually had read some books 09:57 about eating a plant-based diet, 09:59 she didn't know how to make the transition, so... 10:01 she got in contact with me... we started working with her... 10:04 and amazingly, literally, 10:06 she had a disease where she was actually taking 10:08 a lot of... it's a kind of medication called Prednisone... 10:12 and the Prednisone was causing her to gain weight, 10:14 believe it or not, and within... literally... 10:16 again, it wasn't the 28 days... it was a little longer than that 10:19 she stuck with it for almost 2 or 3 months 10:21 by just changed her lifestyle within a few months... 10:23 she literally saw... she lost about 30 pounds... 10:26 she came off 90 percent of her medication... 10:28 she's found that... when she started eating... 10:31 the things that she wasn't supposed to eat... 10:33 because she would find her joints would begin 10:34 swelling again... and so she realized 10:37 as a Physician and understanding that... 10:39 she said, she saw quantitative and qualitative results... 10:42 as a result of changing her lifestyle going on a plant-based 10:45 lifestyle... and so, I say, 10:47 "Look, I've seen it... I've tasted it... it works... " 10:50 and so, God is good... man... yeah, God is good... 10:53 He is... wow! wow! 10:55 so, what tools will somebody need... 10:58 what tools will our Dare to Dream Viewers need 11:01 to take on this challenge? 11:04 You want to answer Chef Lawson? 11:06 They're going to need to buy things like 11:09 rice cookers, blenders, we're going to use a lot of 11:15 healthy and fresh food... 11:16 and I think actually there's going to be 11:18 there's going to be up on the website... 11:19 a list of things that they need... 11:21 We have it on the website so you can learn 11:23 and kind of follow along with it... 11:24 but what we're going to do the concept of our Program 11:26 is that it's going to be progressive... 11:27 so we're going to kind of "prep" the individual... 11:30 "Prep" you and the Viewer out there... 11:31 to kind of know what to do as you keep on going... 11:34 and so, again, one of the major tools is... 11:36 kind of... not like an item to purchase... 11:37 but I think... the biggest thing that each person needs 11:40 as they go on this Program... is to have a willing heart... 11:42 that's the major one thing... again... 11:44 you can look at your heart as a tool... 11:46 if I'm working with you... 11:47 it's a tool that God wants to work on... 11:49 if I'm working with that... 11:50 and so if the willing heart is there 11:52 I believe that... again... the things that we're teaching 11:55 will be easily be able to be implemented... 11:57 and so, we're going to take it step by step... 11:59 and again, we're going to repeat a lot of the things 12:00 that we've been sharing... and so that you're going to be 12:03 able... along with the 28 days, implement these things 12:05 step by step... and that's kind of the idea 12:07 of the whole Program, you know, so... yeah... 12:09 Now, a question that our Viewers are dying to know from you... 12:13 they want to know... 12:15 "Have you all... 12:16 always been eating healthy?" 12:18 Have you always made the right decision... 12:21 We don't want to talk about that phase... come one now... 12:23 One of my favorite things used to be Burger King... 12:26 Come on now... come on now... Burger King... I like that... 12:28 It was always Burger King... 12:29 but, actually, I found out about health at a young age... 12:33 so at 17-years-old, I became a Vegan Vegetarian 12:37 and then, I went to do some things 12:39 left that lifestyle... and I got back in... 12:41 so I haven't been eating healthy always... 12:43 but as I was growing up my mom always fed us 12:46 meat protein... and she always fed us vegetarian meals 12:49 and so, one day we might have fried chicken 12:52 but then the next day we might have... 12:54 just an all vegetarian meal 12:55 and so, I had that balance, 12:57 and so it was an easy transition when I got older... 13:00 Mine was kind of similar but not exactly the same, 13:04 I grew up around a family, 13:05 my uncles and my aunts were vegetarians 13:07 but my family... man, oh man, 13:09 "give me the fried chicken" 13:12 you know what I'm saying... fried chicken... barbeque sauce 13:14 my nose is sweating... I'm dipping... I'm eating, 13:16 you know what I'm saying... 13:17 so every year we had the cookouts... 13:18 I'd be eating the ribs, eating the crabs, 13:20 you know what I'm saying, the lobster, the shrimp, 13:22 that was our delicate meal, you know what I'm saying... 13:24 so... the oodles and noodles, 13:25 got to add a little cheese in there 13:27 a little meat on the side of it, so, I grew up eating 13:30 pretty much whatever I could find... you follow me 13:33 I'm a country boy... so we ate squirrels... 13:35 not to go into all that man... so... 13:38 Squirrels? anyway I'm a country boy... 13:40 y'all might not know what I'm talking about 13:42 y'all city folk out there 13:43 might not know what I'm talking about... 13:44 I saw one of those running across the street. 13:46 That was lunch...You saw lunch running across the street 13:49 I'm a country boy, 13:51 that's how they did it, 13:53 so I ate what they gave me you know what I mean... so 13:55 I guess you never had to go to the store... 13:58 you went right outside and picked your food... 14:00 Nah man, the good Lord 14:04 started convicting me on the importance of health 14:07 as a result of learning from my uncles and my aunts 14:10 who were vegetarians they introduced to me 14:12 God's plan of healthy living and so, at a young age, 14:15 even though I was eating some things 14:17 I started implementing some of those principles in my life... 14:19 by the time I was 18, and I made the decision... 14:21 and actually it was during that time... 14:23 me and Chef Lawson met each other in college, 14:24 we were going to Howard University 14:26 and during that same time frame, I became a vegetarian... 14:28 and I remember man, giving up the chicken Bro 14:31 it was almost like... man! I was having withdrawals... 14:34 you know, people go on withdrawals from other things... 14:37 I went on withdrawal from chicken... 14:40 It's like Kryptonite... come on now... 14:42 I remember the second day, when I stopped eating the 14:45 chicken... my body was just craving... 14:47 it was almost like I was going into convulsions 14:49 I remember there was a Jamaican guy outside of the school... 14:52 he was selling chicken hot dogs... 14:54 chicken hot dogs... that doesn't even sound good 14:57 so I'm just eating the fried chicken 14:59 with the barbeque sauce 15:00 and I go outside... and I'm going to get me 15:02 a chicken hot dog... and I ate that chicken hot dog 15:05 and it was nasty... I was so upset because 15:07 I didn't go to KFC or go to some other place 15:09 and get the real chicken, 15:11 I got chicken hot dogs... 15:14 and I was so upset that I got a chicken hot dog... 15:16 that was the last time I had chicken... 15:18 so, I'll tell you... Number One... 15:20 when you ask God to change your taste buds... 15:23 He's able to do it... 15:24 and sometimes again... it doesn't come... overnight 15:26 I still kind of... as I was still transitioning 15:29 I might have eaten something that I didn't want to eat... 15:31 but eventually, within a year or so... 15:33 I was eating a plant-based diet and a lot of it... 15:35 the one thing I want to stress, is that... as you learn... 15:39 you can implement this lifestyle Hmmm... hmmm... 15:41 You know, you can't just go at times and say, 15:43 "I'm going to go cold turkey" Overnight... 15:44 because if you don't have the education... 15:46 you don't really know what to eat... 15:47 you follow where I'm coming from Oh yeah... 15:49 so there's a balance of having the desire to change 15:52 but also getting the knowledge and the education... 15:55 to implement the lifestyle... and so that's the way to do it. 15:58 You have to apply it... Exactly... 16:00 Exactly... And it has an effect... 16:01 it has an effect... I can remember... growing up 16:04 I had a horrible temper... it went from one to one path 16:07 there was no middle game... 16:10 I was either "Not mad" or I was "ready to burn the house down" 16:14 and so... it was that bad... 16:17 and I can remember... I didn't know about the effects 16:20 on your temperament... your mood 16:22 but as soon as I stopped eating meat 16:24 and started eating more plant-based... 16:25 I was able to control my temper... 16:27 I was able to feel it rise, and was able to calm myself down 16:31 and I wasn't perfect, but I was able to control it 16:34 so I saw benefits immediately by switching my diet... 16:36 and it's very true what they say... "You are what you eat" 16:41 you can tell by when you eat certain meals... 16:44 you feel sluggish after you eat, 16:46 you feel tired... you feel like you just need to go and lie down 16:49 and things like that... Exactly... exactly... 16:50 we all know about that and how it feels... 16:53 We know exactly what I'm talking about... 16:55 and also, going back to what you said earlier about it... 16:58 you can transform your diet 17:00 I've said this before, it's great that we serve a God 17:04 that is in the business of restoration 17:07 and transformation... That's right... that's it... 17:08 we've all had different walks in life... 17:10 we've all made different decisions 17:12 whether it's diet based or real-life based... 17:16 Exactly... Hmmm... hmmm... 17:18 and God has seen us 17:20 through those times... 17:22 and put us in a better position. Exactly... 17:23 as long as we seek Him, so... Exactly... 17:26 I mean, that's amazing... and what you guys are doing 17:29 with this FORK System... is great... 17:31 Yeah, exactly... that's the whole model... 17:33 it's a practical way to transform someone's life... 17:37 you know, so again, it has to be something that people can touch, 17:40 and is tangible to them... 17:42 you know, again, having theories and concepts 17:44 is not God's answer... God wants it to be something 17:47 that you can again... apply to your everyday life... 17:49 that's what it's all about... that's the gospel... 17:52 And it has to be something that's not difficult... 17:54 Exactly... 17:55 some people might hear vegan vegetarian... 17:57 they're ready to put it here they wonder, 17:58 "What do I do, what do I eat, 18:00 how am I going to get this, and how am I going to get that?" 18:01 and we go through all that stuff doing the FORK System 18:04 and they're going to see just how easy it is... 18:06 to transition... 18:08 and just how good the food actually tastes... 18:10 That's right... And we love good-tasting food... 18:13 But... touch on the subject 18:17 of Organization 18:19 and why that is so important in the kitchen... 18:21 Why is it important to be organized? 18:23 Let's go... I want to re-cap on the 4 points 18:26 So the Organizational point... we're going to be talking about, 18:29 again, we're talking about the Kitchen Organization 18:31 and I believe that that's one of the foundational 18:33 things that has to be done... your kitchen has to be organized 18:36 so what we do... the reason why we do this is 18:38 because, again, when it comes to cooking healthy... 18:40 you have to be in sync, 18:42 you have to have things set up properly 18:43 you have to know which ingredients to even use... 18:46 Hmmm... hmmm... so we go step by step... 18:48 showing you exactly which ingredients to purchase... 18:51 we show you step by step 18:52 showing you how to organize your kitchen 18:55 how to put this cabinet and set up these ingredients... 18:57 so for example... in the morning time... 18:59 you're going to eat simple... let's say... a breakfast meal... 19:02 all of us love oatmeal, right? Hmmm... hmmm... 19:04 So we set up an Oatmeal Station 19:05 you follow where I'm coming from? 19:07 You got your grains... your oatmeal 19:09 and even other grains you can have for breakfast... 19:11 but how to actually have your different seasonings... 19:13 such as your cinnamon, or your coriander, 19:17 or your raisins and your nuts and your almonds 19:20 and your walnuts and your pecans and your craisins, 19:22 the apricots... all that... you can put it in a nice station 19:24 and then in the morning time, Brother... when you wake up... 19:27 you just put that oatmeal on, put it inside that bowl... 19:30 I'm talking about some good old-fashioned eating, man... 19:32 So, again, we go over that kind of stuff... 19:35 we also talk about personal organization... 19:38 Okay... meaning that my life 19:40 has to be organized... Oh yeah... 19:42 meaning again if everything is all over the place 19:44 in our lives... are we going to even have 19:46 the time to even think about... eating healthy... 19:49 if the priorities in our lives aren't in the right place... 19:52 it's difficult to get them to make transitions 19:54 on different things... so we talk about personal organization 19:58 we also talk about... 19:59 what I think is very important also... 20:00 about different tools... some of the most important tools 20:03 that you need in your kitchen... 20:05 to again, automate the process of cooking healthy as well... 20:09 so we go over things such as... how to use a knife... 20:12 people say, "I know how to use a knife" 20:14 but many times we don't know the different knives 20:16 and what their names are, 20:17 or even how to use those different knives... 20:18 And their functions exactly... 20:20 we talk about, as well, we go over the rice cooker... 20:23 we talk about the griddle... and just how you use those tools 20:26 and the blender, you know, again a key tool for the kitchen 20:31 so, organization dealing with all of that... 20:33 and so it's power packed really power packed... 20:35 so it's really good... 20:37 Okay, also, one thing you said, it's fast too... 20:42 you can eat healthy but you can make it fast... 20:45 which is so, so, so important in this Society... 20:49 because... let's face it... we live in a microwave society, 20:51 and we want it now... Exactly... 20:54 so, for it to be fast, easy, 20:57 people are more likely to make that transition... 21:00 Exactly... they're more likely to use it... 21:01 And we emphasize that... that's why the Organizational 21:05 component is so critical... 21:06 because the more organized you are... 21:08 the more "system" you have... 21:10 for any business... when you have systems 21:12 and operations in place... 21:13 everything kind of goes automated... 21:15 so, again, our lifestyles can become like that 21:18 we can have things such in a way 21:20 that when we get up it's just kind of like clockwork 21:22 again, you put the beans on at night... in the crockpot... 21:24 when you wake up in the morning, guess what? 21:26 The beans are done... you got soup for the next day 21:28 for dinner or even... take it for lunch... 21:30 and so, again we talk about all those little simple tips 21:33 how to make it easy... and quick... 21:35 for you to do... right at home 21:36 Well, okay... well, you know what 21:38 let's go to the "Faith Section" 21:40 Come on now... so, why is "Faith" important? 21:43 Why is it important to have Faith... 21:45 I want you to answer this... 21:46 I want you to come on in and answer this one... 21:50 Anybody who studies health and diet... 21:52 we know that out there in the world 21:54 that diet and spirituality are connected... 21:57 in a bunch of all other religions 22:00 that are in the world... they connect these two things... 22:02 but most of the time you don't find it 22:03 connected in Christianity and and we want to show people that 22:06 all these principles of health 22:08 all these principles of healthy eating and living 22:10 are directly from the Bible... and so what we've pulled out 22:13 is 28... I like to call them "Power Promises" 22:15 and we go through these promises 22:17 and how you can get closer to Christ... 22:19 and how... getting closer to Christ 22:21 physically... by eating good foods... 22:23 also is proportionate to what God wants to do for you 22:26 spiritually... in your life... and so, you can't separate 22:29 the two because you could eat healthy... 22:31 and not get closer to Christ... and really miss 22:33 the everlasting blessing... that you really should achieve 22:36 and you could get closer to Christ and not know that 22:38 maybe your relationship could be different... 22:40 if your mind was more clear, 22:41 or if your body was functioning better... 22:43 and you could enjoy optimal health 22:45 not only in this life... but in the next life to come. 22:47 Hmmm... amen... 22:48 We're about to have Church here Brother... 22:51 with a big "Praise the Lord" right... right... 22:53 We get all excited... we get all excited... 22:56 So, faith is extremely important and we know that 23:00 faith is very important... 23:01 we just wanted to break it down for our Viewers a little bit... 23:03 but what about recipes... why can't I just pour this in 23:07 and pour that in... and pour this in... 23:10 and just pray and hope for a good meal... 23:13 That's a good question, man... because recipes obviously... 23:16 we need to have knowledge of how to cook this way... 23:17 we're getting used to eating again, 23:19 we're talking about vegan... we're talking about 23:20 cutting out the dairy... 23:22 we're talking about not eating the meat... 23:24 and so, a lot of the things that we're used to eating... 23:27 we have to replace... 23:28 and so, again, we want to make it practical where 23:31 as you can learn how to replace those things... 23:34 and what we find is that, again, once we learn those ingredients 23:37 that can replace the things that we're used to eating... 23:40 we find that it's really the same thing... 23:42 I would like to tell people who eat chicken, 23:44 I used to eat a lot of fried chicken... 23:46 again, so, when you make fried chicken, 23:49 if it's not seasoned good... 23:50 it doesn't taste good... absolutely not... 23:52 Have you ever had a bland piece of fried chicken? 23:55 Yeah... Exactly... 23:56 and so, obviously again... 23:57 if you don't season it properly, it's not going to taste good... 23:59 the same is true when you make your 24:01 Vegan Chicken... if you follow where I'm coming from... 24:03 you understand where I'm coming from... so, 24:04 and we talk about all of that and so, again, the recipes 24:08 are for people to see practically 24:10 how it can actually be done... 24:12 and then we want to empower the Viewer 24:14 to be able to actually do it... at home... 24:17 and so we make it really simple, we're not doing complex recipes 24:20 these recipes can be learned in a matter of minutes... 24:22 and then they can go right in the kitchen 24:24 and do it right at home, man... and they start it immediately 24:26 which is our goal... and so, that's what we're looking for... 24:29 That's great... and what the knowledge... 24:32 I mean, it's so important to impart knowledge on others 24:37 and share knowledge among others... 24:39 so, what do you hope that our Viewers take... 24:44 from the whole System? 24:46 Well, it's kind of like "sitting in class" 24:51 and if there's never any quiz, never any test... 24:54 or anything like that... then you're just listening... 24:57 but you won't retain anything, and so, we hope the 24:59 knowledge part will make you pay more attention, 25:01 it will make you catch those fine points 25:04 that we're were trying to go over in the show... 25:05 so that you actually 25:06 are paying attention to what you're doing, 25:08 you're actually retaining the information... 25:10 and if you don't retain it... 25:11 you won't be able to use it afterwards... 25:13 it might be a nice show, it might be fun, 25:15 it might entertain you, but then after the TV is off 25:17 or the camera is off... you're not left with anything 25:20 but a feeling... and we want you to be left with 25:22 not just a feeling... but tools to empower you... 25:25 and live this lifestyle... Amen... amen... 25:27 I'm spiritually hungry, I'm physically hungry, 25:30 I'm hoping that you're all preaching 25:31 and we're eating... that's it... That's it... 25:34 As I'd like to say... we're going to give you 25:36 "Something to Chew on" That's right... 25:37 something to chew on... yeah... yeah... that's right... 25:39 So we're going to make some bread... 25:40 and then we're going to break some bread... 25:41 That's it... that's right... that's right... yeah... 25:43 That's deep... so, what are your final thoughts 25:47 for our Viewers? 25:48 I think the last point I would say... I think that... 25:53 God has something special for all of us in this journey... 25:56 it's not just another... 25:58 I guess you can say... "cooking program" 25:59 you can watch all kinds of networks with cooking programs 26:03 Hmmm... hmmm... this, I believe, is going to be 26:04 if you're looking for revival... not only in your health, 26:07 but spiritually... 26:08 one of the things that we want to really uplift 26:10 in this Program is... is Christ 26:12 because He's the one that gives us the power to 26:14 to do all of these things... 26:16 He's the one that's going to teach us along this journey 26:19 and so, we're learning... Chef Lawson and I... 26:21 we're learning... as we're sharing 26:22 the Viewers are going to be learning... so... 26:25 I'm just really... 26:26 my prayer, most importantly is that... 26:27 if you're looking for revival in your experience... 26:30 we're going to be reading through the book of Matthew... 26:31 that's going to be something special 26:33 that we're going to be doing... we got 28 days... 26:35 the book of Matthew has 28 chapters... 26:37 and so we're going to be looking at the book of Matthew 26:40 and we're learning all about Christ... and how He worked. 26:43 Anything... did we leave out Chef Lawson? 26:45 Well, I just have one thing to take away... 26:46 if anybody is looking for a change... 26:48 they're tired of the way they're living... physically... 26:51 tired of the way they're living spiritually... 26:52 then this is the show... for them 26:54 it's a faith-based show... 26:56 and we really wanted to incorporate... spirituality... 26:59 and something most people don't see... like cooking... 27:01 most cooking shows... all they do is cook... 27:03 we wanted to 27:05 "cook in the kitchen and cook outside the kitchen" 27:07 Come on now... I like that... 27:08 and so if anybody that's looking for a change... 27:10 and if you're watching this show... 27:12 you found the right show... Exactly... exactly... exactly... 27:17 Is there a scripture of encouragement 27:19 that you can offer for these next 28 days? 27:21 I got one... I think the one that comes 27:24 to mind is in Psalms... it says that 27:27 "O taste and see that the Lord is good: 27:31 blessed is the man that trusteth in Him. " 27:34 And so I would say... as the Viewers go on this 27:37 28-day Challenge... we have to realize that 27:39 when we taste God's way... it's good... 27:41 and at the same time... 27:43 even though at times we're going through change and 27:45 or maybe letting go of some things that we're used to... 27:47 some of the food that we might be used to eating... 27:49 that God is going to say, 27:50 "Guess what, if you trust in me I'm going to give you the power, 27:53 I'm going to give you the strength... 27:55 I'm going to give us... " 27:56 He's going to give us everything that we need 27:58 to be able to endure... all the way unto the end... 28:00 and so, I say, "Listen, God is good... " 28:02 I like to say...
