00:19 Mark Chapter 1 and we're going to begin together, 00:22 verse 21. 00:23 And for those who will watch it online, 00:25 if you don't mind, if you would be an online 00:28 evangelist, an apple apostle, a digital disciple, 00:31 go ahead and share that on Facebook. 00:34 Copy the link and send it to somebody if you're on YouTube 00:36 and some of us may not be aware, this is our first Sabbath. 00:39 We're streaming live on Instagram as well. 00:41 So if you're following if you're on the Graham, 00:43 go ahead and send it to somebody. 00:45 Somebody are saying, hey, man, you don't even know 00:47 what Instagram is. 00:48 You can save it. 00:49 It's all right. Up, 00:51 march up. 00:52 The one 00:56 and we're going to begin to together at verse 21. 00:58 When you get there, let me say Amen 01:02 Mark, chapter one 01:05 and verse 21. 01:07 How many of us today 01:10 are just willing to say, Lord, 01:12 clean house in my life, if you're just giving 01:17 God permission 01:19 to just sweep out everything, 01:22 every agency 01:24 that is in conflict with him, 01:27 just raise your hand and say, I'm in covenant with you today. 01:30 Passed it, man. 01:32 Mark Chapter one, verse 21, the Bible says. 01:37 Then they went into Capernaum, 01:40 and immediately on the Sabbath 01:42 he entered the synagogue and talked 01:46 and they were astonished at his teaching, 01:49 for he taught them as one having what 01:52 authority and not as the scribes. 01:56 Now there was a man in the synagogue 01:58 with an unclean spirit. 02:01 Now notice that Jesus is not in the club. 02:07 He is not in the saloon, 02:09 he's in church. 02:12 And the Bible says, You just read in verse 23. 02:15 Now, there was a man in their 02:17 synagogue, their church, with an unclean spirit, 02:21 and he cried out saying, Let us alone. 02:24 What have we to do with you, Jesus of Nazareth? 02:27 Did you come to destroy us? 02:29 I know who you are, the holy one of God. 02:33 And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Be quiet. 02:38 He might have said, Shut up, never shut up 02:44 and come out of him. 02:49 And when the unclean spirit convulsed him 02:53 and cried out with a loud voice, he came out of him 02:57 and they were all the maids. 02:58 So that the question among themselves say, what is this? 03:02 What new doctrine is this for with authority, 03:05 he commands even unclean spirits and they obey him. 03:11 And immediately his fame spread 03:13 throughout all the region of around the Galilee. 03:17 Today seems for a little while. 03:18 I want to talk to you under the subject. 03:21 Smoked out and 03:24 smoked out. 03:25 Let's pray, 03:27 Father. 03:29 I am praying today to be possessed 03:35 not by principalities that are dark, 03:39 but by the presence of your spirit. 03:42 So, Lord, I yield all parts of my instruments to you. 03:47 Lord, I pray that you would give me power to preach the Word, 03:51 and Lord made the possession 03:53 not just beyond the one who preaches, but 03:55 may there be a spirit possession for those that here 03:59 and then they're gone? 04:00 I pray that you would hide me in the shadows of the cross, 04:03 that Jesus alone might be seen, 04:06 that Christ alone would be heard. 04:08 And at the end of our time 04:09 together, may Jesus alone be praised. 04:12 We pray this in the name of Him, who is all together lovely. 04:15 It is in the name of Jesus that we pray. 04:18 Let those who believe say together a man and a man. 04:21 You may be seated in the house of the Lord 04:26 again talking to you 04:27 today under the subject smoked out. 04:35 Has anyone here ever seen a home 04:39 be fumigated? 04:43 Maybe you hired someone or maybe you did it yourself 04:48 using what they call a fogger. 04:50 And for those who don't know, a fogger is essentially 04:54 a nuclear weapon against cockroaches. 04:58 I don't know if you remember back in the day 05:00 when your house got fogged, you would cover 05:02 all your furniture with plastic, 05:05 you would take all of the dishes out of the cabinet, 05:09 you would put your clothes in trash bags, 05:12 and you would evacuate the home because the pesticide 05:16 would go airborne. 05:18 And because the pesticide was airborne, 05:21 it would go underneath 05:22 the cabinets, 05:23 it would go behind the refrigerator, 05:26 it would go underneath the fridge. 05:29 It would go into all the cracks in the house. 05:33 And because it was airborne, it would touch everything 05:35 in the atmosphere. 05:37 And those roaches that were hidden. 05:39 When you left had died in public. 05:43 By the time you return 05:45 and you see those critters which were hidden, were viewed 05:48 from view, were smoked out by the fumigation process. 05:52 You see, fumigation created an atmosphere 05:55 that was no longer tolerable to them. 05:58 And the truth is that you can't kill an infestation 06:02 one critter at a time. 06:04 You've got to create an atmosphere 06:07 that smokes them out so that they no longer have presence. 06:12 And my prayer today church in 2024 06:15 is that some of us go through a spiritual fumigation process. 06:21 You see, some of us have allowed rodents 06:23 to function under the surface too long. 06:26 Some have partnered with critters through friendship 06:29 and romantic interest. 06:31 Others have allowed habits to settle under the cabinets 06:35 of our soul. 06:36 And others have allowed bitterness and offense 06:40 to make an infestation in the heart. 06:44 And my prayer for somebody's today is that your atmosphere 06:47 would be so spiritually dense that the Holy Spirit 06:51 would begin to fog out everything that is hidden, 06:55 everything that is a stronghold, 06:58 everything that has empaneled itself in your life. 07:02 And the thing you've got to know is that this can't be a work 07:04 of sections or compartments. 07:08 You've got to allow the spirit to smoke out the whole 07:10 atmosphere of your life. 07:12 And when the spirit rules the atmosphere of your soul, 07:17 he'll smoke out all the toxic friends you have. 07:20 He'll smoke out all of the unbelief in your life. 07:24 He'll smoke out all the devils that have been there too long. 07:27 Is there anybody that needs 07:29 the Lord to smoke out every unclean thing 07:33 that has had residents in your life? 07:35 You hear me today, friend? 07:37 In fact, let me say it this way. 07:38 I remember one time growing up, I was at my grandmother's house 07:41 and my uncle was supposed to be watching us, and so he ran 07:45 to the corner store that wasn't even a quarter a mile away. 07:49 And so when he came back home, my cousins and I decided that 07:53 we were go hide. 07:54 So he couldn't find us when he came back in. 07:57 And so we went out into the wash house 07:59 on the back porch of the house. 08:01 And so when he came into the house, he would call. 08:04 But we did not respond. 08:06 He would say, Where are you? 08:07 But we didn't reply. 08:09 And we could hear him going throughout the house 08:12 doors opening and closing, 08:14 and he eventually began to look out into the back 08:17 where we were 08:18 hiding in the pantry, but we were underneath 08:20 a whole pile of clothes. 08:22 And so 08:23 either knowingly or unknowingly, he got tired of searching. 08:27 And what he did, Malcolm, was he began in an attempt to rest. 08:30 He began to light up a cigaret, 08:33 and he began to light up the cigaret. 08:36 My Uncle Sonny allowed smoke to begin to feel up 08:39 the pantry where we were engaged in devilment. 08:43 And it's crazy because he couldn't see us. 08:46 But after a while, 08:47 when the atmosphere changed, he would hear us coughing. 08:51 Because guess what? 08:52 We could not hide. 08:54 Once the atmosphere shifted. 08:56 And what I'm saying to somebody today 08:58 is that sometimes you won't know what's there until you change 09:02 your atmosphere. The Almighty quiet. 09:04 In other words, when you let the Holy Spirit 09:08 begin to feel the room with His presence, 09:11 there are some things that been in 09:13 that he smokes out into the public eye. 09:16 All with me today. 09:17 Friends. 09:18 And so go back with me, if you don't mind, to mark 09:20 chapter one. 09:21 And we're going to look back at 21 through 23 09:24 as we unpack the word today, Mark, chapter one in verse 21. 09:28 When you get there, let me say, man, 09:30 the Bible says now they were scuse me. 09:32 Then they came to Capernaum 09:34 and immediately on the Sabbath he entered 09:36 the synagogue and talked 09:38 and they were astonished at his teaching, for 09:41 he taught them as one having authority 09:44 and not as the scribes. 09:47 Now there was a man in their synagogue 09:49 with an unclean spirit, and he cried out saying, 09:53 Let us alone. 09:54 What have we to do with the Jesus of Nazareth? 09:59 Now understand today, Church, that this story is filled 10:04 with transforming truth for the people of God. 10:08 Here we find 10:09 Jesus going back to Capernaum early in his ministry, 10:14 and even though Jesus was a native of Nazareth, 10:17 compared him, had essentially 10:19 become his missionary headquarters. 10:22 In fact, the Bible says that he referred to Capernaum 10:26 as his own city, and even though Capernaum 10:29 was a Jewish town, it was also a seaport city 10:35 which was a distribution center for good entry rates. 10:38 So you would have folk from all over 10:41 that would come to the area of Capernaum. 10:44 And when these folk from abroad 10:45 came to Capernaum and saw the miracles of Jesus, 10:50 they would take the Word about Christ back to the lands 10:53 from which they originated 10:55 and understand the reason they knew about Jesus. 10:59 By the time the apostles came later, after the Ascension, 11:04 is because those that saw him in Capernaum 11:08 had already been laying the groundwork there. 11:11 And whenever Jesus went to Capernaum, 11:14 it was his custom to go into the synagogue 11:17 and begin teaching the truth about the Kingdom of God. 11:21 And on this particular Sabbath, 11:23 the spiritual 11:25 warfare moves from behind the veil 11:29 into public view for everyone to consume and beloved. 11:32 As we work through this text 11:34 there just for brief principles, I want to espouse. 11:38 You see, the first thing this teaches us that is that you 11:41 won't just see the demonic and the deranged. 11:45 Let me say it again that the demonic 11:48 doesn't just show up in the deranged. 11:52 Now, again, friends, I need you to get that. 11:54 There are a number of times where Jesus cast out devils 11:59 that make somewhat a level of sense to us. 12:02 In other words, we understand why a devil 12:05 would be in the man at the gallery, 12:08 the one with steel, with a legion of demons 12:11 who walked around like a maniac 12:13 with foam coming out of his mouth, 12:16 cutting himself, which could not be bound in chains 12:19 because he dwelt among the tombs or the cemetery. 12:23 We understand why the daughter of the Ciro Phoenician woman 12:26 would have a demon, because they're in that land. 12:29 They practice witch 12:30 cult, witchcraft, and they dabbled in the occult. 12:35 But what makes this particular story juicy 12:39 is the timing of the demon and the location of the demon. 12:43 Because have you noticed, Franz, 12:45 that he done encountered this demon in the streets? 12:49 He doesn't encounter this demon at the club. 12:52 He doesn't see this demon at the brothel. 12:56 He finds this demon at the 11:00 service 13:01 of a church 13:02 that meets on the Sabbath 13:05 and understand that there are different kind of demons. 13:08 There are club demons, 13:11 there are drug demons, 13:13 there are prostitution demons. 13:16 But some of us, they know that there are some church devils 13:20 and understand that that that he here. 13:23 What happens here is that because Jesus arrived, 13:27 what happens is there is a knowledge that Jesus is there. 13:32 So the synagogue is fuller than it normally is. 13:35 In fact, it is filled to capacity 13:38 so that in order for this devil to get there, 13:41 he had to get there in time for Sabbath school. 13:44 In other words, this is a Sabbath school devil. 13:47 This is a devil. 13:48 That comes the early morning prayer service. 13:51 He's not like one of your 1230 balcony devils. 13:53 I'm just kidding. 13:55 Not. Not, no. 13:56 This is one of those that gets there early for the service. 13:59 And it's crazy friends of mine 14:01 because there is this one commentator 14:03 that says that this demon was a regular attender at church. 14:09 And the 14:10 reason he felt so comfortable at church is that 14:13 there was so little power in the service, 14:17 there was so little power in the people that attended 14:21 that this demon felt no disruption when he showed up 14:25 and see friends of mine and need us to get this. 14:29 Because the reason we get deceived is because we only see 14:31 the demonic and the deranged. 14:34 You see, sometimes 14:35 we can only see the devil and a meth head or a crack head. 14:40 Some will only see the demonic in a mass shooting 14:42 or a gang shooting. 14:44 Some will only see the demonic in a place of ill repute. 14:49 Some will only see the demonic in X-rated videos. 14:53 And some of us have super viciously believed 14:56 that Satan cannot dwell in a sacred space of worship. 15:00 In fact, 15:02 the cartoonist would have you believe that the devil is 15:04 walking around with pitchforks and a red type and two horns, 15:10 and he dwells in places of burning with fire and lava rock. 15:14 But how many of us know that the devil is as fearful 15:17 as those of the Lake of Fire as we are? 15:21 In other words, friends, there are some of us 15:22 that think, man, 15:23 that the devil 15:24 cannot stand in the place where the Spirit of God is moving. 15:29 Do I need to remind somebody that heaven 15:31 was his natural habitat, that 15:35 that he was the covering cherub, that before he got smoked out, 15:40 there was no one closer to God than Lucifer. 15:44 Do you remember and joke time that when the Sons of God 15:48 came to present themselves before the Lord, 15:50 the Bible says that Satan came also with them. 15:54 In other words, he can occupy any space. 15:58 He can dwell in any atmosphere where spiritual authority 16:01 says, you cannot be here and see friends of mine. 16:05 The question that I want to spend a little time asking is 16:08 How is your spiritual atmosphere? 16:13 In other words, I'm not going to stay here long 16:15 and you will be a little mad here. 16:16 But how is your spiritual atmosphere, 16:20 the atmosphere of your church, the atmosphere of your home, 16:24 the atmosphere of your daily life? 16:26 Is your spiritual atmosphere 16:29 Satan compliant or is it Satan rebuking? 16:34 In other words, trance, I need you to take a look 16:37 at the spiritual environment in which you dwell. 16:40 Because most of us think that, man, I inherit my environment. 16:45 But the truth is, you create your environment. 16:48 No, no, no, no. 16:48 You are your environment. 16:52 If you walk around from one church to the next 16:55 and every church you go to is filled with drama in the church 17:00 at some point is you are y'all hear me today? 17:03 Every time you remarry, you run through the same issues. 17:06 You brought that environment to the particular 17:09 I are here what I'm saying today church 17:11 and I'm what I'm saying to somebody today 17:13 is you got to ask yourself the question, is my environment 17:17 Satan disruptive or is it Satan complimentary? 17:23 Okay, let me let me go 17:24 on getting your business a little bit. 17:26 In other words, is Satan 17:28 threatened by your playlist 17:31 or did he write most of the songs you're listening to? 17:35 Okay. 17:38 Is Satan threatened by your screen content 17:41 or is it the portal through which he gains access? 17:44 Is Satan nervous about your prayer life or is 17:48 he made comfortable when he sees how little you pray? 17:51 Is Satan agitated by your conversation 17:55 or is he encouraged by your converse? 17:58 In other words, I need somebody to get that. 18:00 Satan just doesn't dwell in the club. 18:03 He doesn't just hang out on the street corner. 18:05 He hangs out in any space 18:07 where there is no spiritual authority. 18:11 And let me just also say this, because sometimes 18:14 we get so enamored with the power that Jesus 18:17 and the apostles had to cast out Devil's 18:22 I'm at a place, Alby, 18:23 where I'm not just praying for power, to cast out demons. 18:27 I need the Lord to give me power to keep out demons. 18:31 Okay. 18:32 In other words, I need you to know 18:34 that you don't want to have to cast the devil out. 18:37 You want to have such an atmosphere around your home 18:41 and your life 18:43 that literally keeps out the presence of dark principalities. 18:46 So you hear me today, friends. 18:48 And I like anybody that's ever owned or managed property, knows 18:52 that the hardest thing to do is to evict a bad tenant. 18:54 Y'all know what I'm talking about. 18:56 In other words, it's better to be selective on the front end 19:00 and keep them out, 19:01 because once they get in the house, 19:03 they have certain protections. 19:04 9/10 of the law is possession, they have certain rights. 19:09 And so the best thing is to keep out a bad tenant. 19:12 Then they have to put out a bad tenant. 19:15 And that's why you've got to be conscious 19:17 and have a filter about what tenant you are allowed 19:19 to occupy the space of your body tempo. 19:23 You are hearing the passing of a church. 19:25 In other words, I'm at a place where 19:26 I'm saying, Lord, keep the devil out of my marriage. 19:30 Lord, keep the devil out of my house, 19:32 Lord, keep the devil 19:33 out of my ministry, Lord, keep the devil out of this church. 19:37 The reason some got to cast him out 19:41 is cause you didn't have the power to keep him out 19:44 and see the reason you got to pray 19:46 for somebody that this process 19:49 is because you didn't have the authority 19:52 to keep the enemy from coming all over your house. 19:54 Y'all hear me today, friends? 19:56 In other words, 19:57 you've got to have an atmosphere around you 19:59 that is not conducive to the wiles or the whims of the enemy. 20:03 Y'all listening to the pastor today? 20:04 Church is crazy. 20:06 This week 20:07 I was helping my daughter with art homework 20:09 and they were doing some study on Earth's atmosphere. 20:12 And what we learned 20:13 is that there were three layers to the atmosphere. 20:15 You have the stratosphere at the bottom. 20:18 You have the thermosphere at the top, 20:19 but then you have what they call the mesosphere in the middle. 20:23 And one of the things that we learned 20:25 is that there are falling stars, are meteors 20:28 that sometimes try to penetrate Earth's atmosphere 20:32 and they're able to get through the thermosphere on the top. 20:35 Well, what happens is they are disintegrated 20:38 or vaporize in the mesosphere in the middle. 20:42 That's not what happens is there is no air in the thermosphere, 20:46 but there are molecules and oxygen in the mesosphere, 20:50 so that whatever passes through is going to create friction. 20:54 So much friction that it burns up or is vaporize 20:58 so that it can get 21:00 in the atmosphere but it can't survive the atmosphere. 21:05 See how many of 21:06 us need a spiritual mesosphere around you. 21:10 See, I need you to know the weapons have been formed, 21:14 but they haven't been permitted to prosper. 21:17 They were able to touch the atmosphere, but just sealed. 21:21 Was so dense and so powerful that they couldn't survive 21:26 in the atmosphere of your soul. 21:30 You'll hear me today, friends. 21:32 Yeah. 21:33 So I need you to get that. 21:35 You can't just look for the demonic in the deranged, the. 21:39 The. I need somebody to understand this. 21:43 See, the demonic 21:45 is not going to ever be something. 21:47 You see, 21:49 the demonic is going to be something 21:50 you sense. 21:55 See, there's something about 21:56 when the Spirit of God is living in you. 22:00 And there's a different spirit living in them. 22:03 When you get in 22:04 close space, there's going to be a contradiction, a vibe. 22:07 The energy just won't, max, 22:09 because the spirits that are living 22:12 are in conflict with one another. 22:13 You'll hear what I'm saying today. Church 22:16 I mean, there are certain folk ain't never seen nobody's 22:18 eyes light up red, but there are certain folk. 22:20 When I shake their hand, 22:22 the hairs stands up on the back of my neck 22:25 because our spirits are not in power, in conflict. 22:29 And I want to say this 22:30 real quick, because this brother comes to church regularly. 22:34 He participates in Bible study. 22:37 He offers intercessory prayer. 22:40 He ain't running around deranged in foaming at the mouth. 22:45 His eyes are not darting back and forth 22:46 in the top of his head. 22:47 And one of the things I need you to know 22:49 is that sometimes in church 22:51 the demonic is going to be will great. 22:54 Sometimes the demonic will be well spoken, 22:58 sometimes the demonic will be well educated, 23:01 sometimes the demonic will be well financed, 23:04 sometimes the demonic is going to be good looking. 23:08 And they look good in a suit or in a skirt. 23:09 You are hearing me today. 23:10 And so I just want to pause and say to my students 23:13 and the single among us today, 23:15 because some of us 23:16 have made it up in our minds that you're going to look 23:19 for your partner in the church, which is good, 23:21 but don't let your only criteria be that 23:25 they come to church. 23:29 Thank 23:30 you so much for joining us for The Breath of Life 23:32 Television Ministries broadcast with Pastor Debleaire Snell 23:37 We hope and pray 23:39 that you have been blessed by his powerful message. 23:42 Join us next week for part two of the message “Smoked Out” 23:48 You don't want to miss it. 23:51 Are you tired of just being tired?
