00:03 #S085 - Faith Looks A Certain Way - (Part 2)
00:19 Welcome to the Breath of Life.
00:21 Television ministries broadcast with Pastor Debleaire Snell.
00:27 In today's episode, Pastor Snell will continue with part
00:30 two of the powerful message
00:34 “Faith Looks A Certain Way.
00:37 Now let's go deeper
00:39 into the word of God.
00:43 Not church.
00:44 When I say that, I say this not in an egotistical way
00:47 where I'm just saying you need to pay more attention to me
00:51 when I preach. That's not what I'm talking about.
00:53 I'm saying we've got to have greater
00:55 spiritual capacity
00:59 and greater attentiveness
01:03 towards spiritual things
01:06 because this is a thing I need somebody to understand
01:09 that the devil doesn't
01:10 necessarily just have to cancel your faith.
01:14 If he can simply distract your faith,
01:18 see if he can keep you looking over here.
01:22 When God is moving over there, He can keep
01:25 you under bondage until the day Jesus Christ comes.
01:31 I you'll hear what I'm saying to the church.
01:32 I need somebody to understand that the spiritual warfare
01:36 is not just what you hear in John King in verse ten.
01:39 It's not just to steal, kill and destroy,
01:42 but a part of the spiritual warfare.
01:43 It is literally to distract, to divert,
01:47 to make sure that spiritual you are scatterbrained.
01:50 Matter of fact, can I show you a couple of quotes
01:52 that bless my life this week?
01:54 I want you to see this here on the screen.
01:57 This here comes from the book, The Great Controversy.
02:00 Page 519.
02:02 I need you to understand how the spiritual warfare operates
02:06 so that you understand what it is you are up against.
02:10 Great controversy.
02:11 519 If it doesn't come up, I'll read it for you.
02:14 Satan will knows that all whom he can lead
02:19 to neglect, prayer and the searching of the Scriptures
02:23 will be overcome by his attacks with his church.
02:29 Therefore, he what invents
02:33 every possible device to engross
02:37 the mind.
02:40 He knows as long as he can keep you off your knees.
02:44 And if you keep your Bible shut,
02:48 and if he can keep you scrub link to your eyes, burn out
02:53 that he can
02:53 keep you in a slave is bondage.
02:56 I don't hear what I'm saying today.
02:57 Church So every invention that's consuming
03:03 devotional time has its path in.
03:10 Are you hear what I'm saying?
03:11 No, I ain't trying to be diplomatic with this thing today
03:15 because he knows if he can keep you out of the word,
03:18 he can keep you under his spell all your days.
03:21 You'll hear me today, Church.
03:22 In fact, I want you to look at this in the book.
03:24 Early writings 266, where the prophet of our church,
03:28 one of the pioneers, was given some insight
03:31 into one of Satan's board meetings.
03:34 And I want you to see what Satan told his aunts.
03:36 Look at this. Put it up. Put it up.
03:39 Listen what he told the Imps and the other fallen angels.
03:43 He says, Go make the possessors of land and money.
03:46 Drop with cares.
03:48 Are you all women in a church?
03:50 If you can make them place their affection
03:53 upon these things, we shall have them.
03:56 Yet they may profess what they please.
04:01 Only make them care more for money
04:04 than for the success of Christ's Kingdom
04:07 or the spread of the truths we hate.
04:10 Present the world before them in the most attractive light
04:13 that they may our love and idolize it
04:17 as they gather together for prayer
04:20 in different places, then we are in danger.
04:24 Be very vigilant.
04:26 Then. Cause over what?
04:30 Distraction you can destroy love for each other.
04:34 Hold up every plausible excuse so that those that have to those
04:37 who have means let's they hand it out battle
04:40 every inch of ground, make covetousness
04:43 and love of earthly treasure
04:44 the ruling trait of their character.
04:46 As long as these traits rule salvation and grace.
04:51 Stand back.
04:53 Crowd all you can,
04:55 all round them to attract them.
04:59 And they will surely be ours.
05:05 Are you all listening to this preacher today?
05:07 In other words, I need you to get that sentence.
05:09 Go is not just to make you immoral.
05:13 I need you to know
05:14 that he don't have to get you to smoke, crack or weed.
05:18 He ain't got to get you to have a woman on the side
05:21 and a cigaret under your car seat.
05:23 But if he can just keep your focus diverted
05:29 and what I'm saying to us today, Church,
05:31 is that we have to have a spiritually focused
05:36 approach and 2025, if we're going to make it
05:38 to the next level, can the church say, man,
05:42 this is one of the things I believe, beloved,
05:44 is that when you approach every day, you got to understand
05:49 that the enemy is looking to take over your focus
05:52 so that when it's time to pray,
05:54 I got to have focus in my prayer
05:57 so that when it's time for me to get in the word
05:58 that I can't get in, the comforts
06:00 of the bed snuggly and warm.
06:03 But sometimes I got to go to a cold part of the house
06:07 and I got to sit down in a hard chair where my mind
06:09 can be stayed all the way in on the Lord Jesus Christ.
06:14 I need some young person
06:16 before you open up your Bible and begin the scroll.
06:21 You need to begin the Scriptures because I need somebody
06:24 to know that the spirit of supplication
06:27 is being destroyed by the spirit of social media.
06:31 The spirit of intercession is laid on the altar of Instagram,
06:36 and your time with God is being consumed with
06:39 all y'all mad today.
06:41 Y'all want me to go out of town?
06:42 But I'm going to stay right here and preach to see y'all today.
06:45 In other words, friends, I need you to know
06:46 that when it talks about having a focused faith,
06:49 it means when you come into the house of God,
06:52 you need to be selective about who you sit next to.
06:56 In other words, I can't sit next to no Gossip Bunny.
07:00 That ain't gonna do nothing but complain
07:02 about every wrong note. Dismissed.
07:05 I can't sit in the back where I'm focusing on
07:07 who's coming in and who's going out.
07:09 There is an anointing in the first eight rows of the pews
07:13 where you can see nothing but the goodness of God.
07:17 When it talks about being focused,
07:18 it means you
07:19 need to be selective about who's in your inner circle.
07:23 If you're trying to grow in faith,
07:26 you can't surround yourself with those that don't talk faith
07:29 and those that don't want faith.
07:31 I need some people in my inner circle
07:34 that know how to get a prayer through, that know
07:37 God can make a way that knows the promises of the Word of God.
07:42 Tasco reinforce what I really believe
07:48 and friends, if you're going be focused,
07:52 what you do at the end of the day
07:55 needs to complement what you do at the start of the day.
07:59 Now you're going to be mad at me for a minute.
08:01 The reason we take one step forward and six steps back
08:05 is because our evening activity
08:08 conflicts with our morning activity.
08:11 Okay, so so we start the day with living.
08:16 Warner
08:18 But we end the day with the tea of gossip.
08:20 Y'all, y'all not hear me today? So.
08:22 So we start the day with sunshine.
08:26 But we end the day throwing shade.
08:27 Y'all mighty quiet in this house today.
08:30 And what I'm saying to somebody today is you got to make sure
08:32 that what you consume throughout the day reinforces
08:38 the word, reinforces faith, and it does not disassemble. It's
08:45 your life must be lived in the same direction.
08:49 So I need you to know that godliness is not hard.
08:53 Godliness becomes difficult when I try to plant
08:55 conflicting seed in the same soil.
08:59 I don't hear what I'm saying today.
09:01 Church How many of us understand that you can't kill your flesh
09:06 and feed it at the same time?
09:11 It's funny.
09:12 Over the holidays
09:13 we had a little situation where we had,
09:15 you know, some aunts coming in to,
09:18 you know, on the little island in our kitchen.
09:21 And it's crazy because my wife taught my kids
09:22 how to put together
09:23 a little, little poison
09:24 so that they would take
09:25 the poison down to the queen and kill the colony.
09:29 But see, the problem with
09:30 the kids is they would
09:31 love to plant the poison, but when they wasted something,
09:36 they didn't want to clean it up.
09:37 And see the problem with you're bringing
09:39 conflict to your approach because you can't kill
09:42 the ants while feeding them at the same time,
09:46 so that if you don't kill them,
09:47 you can't just send poison to the queen.
09:51 You've got to clean up the excess.
09:52 And the me
09:54 and the words of somebody is you're trying to kill the flesh,
09:59 but you're leaving remains for the flesh to feed on every day.
10:04 And you got to remove
10:05 all the provision for your flesh
10:09 so that you can become the man or woman that God has ordained
10:12 you to become.
10:13 You are hear me today. Church
10:16 faith has a certain look
10:18 so you can tell what people are believing for
10:22 when you look at what they position themselves
10:25 to receive.
10:30 So the word says this brother has the faith to be healed.
10:35 Bobby Now that's critical.
10:37 Scholars, ma'am, look at this, doing this,
10:38 trying to figure out what it is, what is it that Paul sees?
10:42 So for us they say, Well, maybe the man is focused,
10:45 but man, the second thing that perhaps they sees
10:48 is at a certain point, this man positions
10:51 himself
10:56 to be here.
10:57 So Paul is preaching
11:00 at me and Paul is getting jiggy with this psalm.
11:03 I mean, he's going Genesis to Revelation.
11:07 And I love because at some point what this man with crippled
11:11 feet begins to do is he begins to position himself
11:17 in preemptively of what Paul says.
11:21 I'm still not here yet.
11:22 So what this cripple man does
11:24 at some point is he takes a lame left leg
11:30 and stabilizes it
11:32 and ties down his handle
11:35 so that when the command is given,
11:37 he's getting ready to move and he takes a cripple right leg
11:42 and positions it and stabilizes it
11:47 so that when the command comes, he's ready to move.
11:51 He ties up his hand to strap so he doesn't trip.
11:55 When it's time for him to walk, he doesn't take his mat
12:00 and put it in front of him, but he takes his mat
12:03 and cast it out of sight
12:06 because he's getting in position
12:12 to see the miracle take place.
12:16 Now, friends of mine, I need somebody to hear this
12:19 because there is a difference
12:22 between wanting the blessing of God
12:25 and being ready for the blessing of God.
12:28 Because when I simply want it is simply
12:31 an intellectual acknowledgment that what I desire
12:37 will be profitable and beneficial to me.
12:40 But there's a difference between wanting get
12:43 and being ready for it.
12:44 Wanting it just means I have desire, but be ready
12:49 means I've got in position and prepared myself
12:54 to receive what I'm desiring.
12:59 See friends of mine.
13:00 Some of us.
13:02 All we have is desire, but
13:06 we don't never put ourselves in position to receive nothing.
13:10 We don't have a posture ourselves.
13:12 There is no sense of anticipation
13:15 that governs our behaviors.
13:16 We run around like good luck wishing upon a star,
13:20 rubbing a lamp, rabbit's foot carrying
13:24 black eye on New Year's Day kind of believers
13:28 where we are hoping for good luck,
13:31 not believing for the promises of God.
13:36 So this is see what real faith looks like
13:39 because you know what?
13:40 Real faith don't need it.
13:42 Don't need no proof.
13:44 Okay, let me say it, y'all know this are
13:47 real faith.
13:49 Doesn't need proof.
13:52 All it needs is the certainty
13:55 that God sent it.
14:00 See, is just kind of like this.
14:02 There are times where the weather man
14:03 will come on during the day and say it's going to rain.
14:07 Now some of us won't get an umbrella
14:10 until they see rain.
14:12 But if you believe what he said,
14:16 even when there are no clouds in the sky, you still pack
14:20 and umbrella and a raincoat
14:23 because you trust what he said.
14:26 You know that the showers are coming.
14:29 And what I'm declaring to somebody this year
14:33 is that rain is about to fall.
14:37 Showers are blessings.
14:40 Showers are blessings.
14:42 We need mercy.
14:44 Jobs around us are falling.
14:47 But for the showers, we plead and stop
14:51 waiting for clouds to get your rain gear.
14:55 Carry it when the sun is out.
14:58 Carry it when no clouds are in the sky.
15:01 Because if God said it's
15:07 it must come to pass.
15:12 And what I'm saying to
15:13 somebody today is you've got to get yourself in position
15:18 to receive what you are praying for.
15:22 So dear somebody who's saying, I want a big leap
15:24 in my mental health,
15:26 but you got to position yourself to sit down with somebody
15:29 who can help you along the way, somebody saying,
15:32 I want a position that you're praying for big financially,
15:37 but you need to get somebody
15:38 to help you manage the overflow without waste.
15:42 There is somebody there saying,
15:43 I want to leap into being a spouse,
15:46 but you need to position yourself,
15:48 learn how to forgive, learn how to communicate,
15:51 learn how to fix something, how to build something.
15:55 I hear what I'm saying.
15:56 You ain't pregnant but paint so nursery already
16:01 and trust that if God spoke it
16:05 is going to come to pass
16:08 and see somebody also looking at me crazy
16:11 because you don't really believe in positioning yourself.
16:14 Can I take you to the word real quick?
16:16 Psalms 81 in verse ten speaks to this very truth.
16:21 Psalms eight, don't wait for it on the screen.
16:23 Open your Bible today. Psalms 81,
16:27 highlight it and write it down some 81 in verse ten.
16:31 Look at what the word says.
16:33 Listen to what God said to Israel.
16:35 Psalms 8110.
16:36 He says, I am the Lord your God.
16:38 He brought you out of the land of Egypt.
16:41 Notice what he says.
16:42 Open your mouth.
16:54 He says, Open your mouth wide, then I'll feel it.
17:00 So the level of your position
17:04 is going to determine the level of your perfect set.
17:08 So it's just like when you feed the baby,
17:12 when they don't like the proofs or the green carrots,
17:15 they just open them out like this.
17:17 And really, almost subconsciously
17:21 you begin to determine what you put on the spoon
17:24 by how much they open their mouth.
17:28 But when you feed them the bananas and the pears
17:32 and the grapes, they don't just open it
17:35 like this, but they open wide and point it.
17:39 They mouths so you can fill it.
17:43 And do I have any sense that I'll get before
17:46 God this morning and say, God, right here,
17:51 I'm open wide.
17:54 I'm just not a lot open.
17:56 I'm not most of the way open, but I'm all the way open.
18:01 I'm positioning myself
18:05 to receive what God has in store.
18:09 Are you all with the pastor today? Church The
18:16 next thing I like about this brother
18:18 is that he doesn't ask
18:21 What if it doesn't work?
18:25 You don't ask, what if so, poor
18:28 man, this thing is so good.
18:30 He's he's.
18:32 He just simply declares to me, Yo, bro,
18:36 rise.
18:38 Stand up
18:40 and start walking.
18:43 Now what you do see this last quote?
18:44 Acts of the Apostles?
18:45 181 I need you to see how faith works.
18:49 Paul commanded the cripple to stand upright on his feet here
18:53 for the supper had been able to take a sitting posture.
18:56 What?
18:58 But now he instantly obeyed Paul's command,
19:02 and for the first time in his life
19:04 he stood on his feet.
19:05 Now watch.
19:06 This strength came with v
19:13 f word of faith,
19:15 and he who had been crippled, leaped,
19:21 and he walked, God, I
19:26 see somebody.
19:27 I'll sit and get it.
19:28 Because the problem is you still ready?
19:31 Like they did at the end of the chapter two.
19:33 Dear five Paul
19:37 But if you reading this right, Paul does not healed
19:41 the man.
19:47 Paul simply announces that God has removed
19:52 the restriction that was keeping him down.
19:56 Oh, God,
19:58 no, no.
19:59 Paul didn't healing.
20:01 Paul just wanted him to be aware
20:04 that he has some agency that he didn't always have. So.
20:07 So notice when she says she says, when the effort
20:11 of faith is demonstrated, that's when the miracle occurred.
20:17 Okay, so we are still missing it.
20:19 So when Paul tells him to stand up,
20:23 there is no surge of energy
20:25 in his legs.
20:30 There is no heart burning going from his toes
20:33 up to his torsos and his thighs.
20:36 No, I need to understand when Paul speaks it,
20:40 his legs are just as dead
20:43 as before he speaks it.
20:46 So the man can't wait to feel something.
20:52 Because if he's waiting on a feeling,
20:56 he would be waiting until this very day.
21:00 And even though he ain't got no feeling,
21:03 he still puts it into motion.
21:06 See, the reason some of us ain't going
21:08 get nothing is you still waiting on a feeling?
21:12 You waiting on the feeling of forgiveness
21:16 You're waiting on the feeling of reconciliation
21:19 You're waiting on the feeling of the Holy Ghost.
21:22 But you got to stop waiting on a feeling
21:25 and start acting in the Word.
21:27 Because once he obeys
21:31 the word, that's when muscles begin to move.
21:36 That's when ligaments begin to fire.
21:39 That's when nerves begin to shoot.
21:42 Once he begins to act
21:45 in the level of obedience.
21:50 Now watch this curve because I like this brother.
21:53 Because, see,
21:54 the one thing I like about
21:55 the brother is he doesn't spend his time asking,
21:58 what if it don't work?
22:05 CC Understand that most cripples hold back in the day
22:08 like the man at 73 or the fucking Jesus time
22:11 that when you were crippled.
22:13 What you boss at the time in order to avoid bedsores,
22:17 is you lived with a mat.
22:21 It was a soft place to sit
22:24 or a soft place to land.
22:28 Okay, yeah.
22:29 You ought to get this.
22:30 And it's funny because, like, even two times,
22:32 like cripple limbs were in some you've seen unclean.
22:36 So you covered them with blankets and covers.
22:38 But I like this brother, man.
22:39 He he ain't got no shame in his gay
22:42 like he don't want nothing to obstruct his movement.
22:46 This brother thought aside, his cover,
22:49 his robe, he got ass all on his knees,
22:52 because I know that dark black will crack.
22:54 Do I have a witness in the other day?
22:55 Right.
22:57 I see.
22:58 The thing I like about this brother is he is not worried
23:02 about what they think.
23:05 If it don't work.
23:06 See, some of us will never step because you so worried
23:11 about what somebody is going to say if it don't come to pass,
23:15 if it don't work out and if it don't come together.
23:18 And the thing I like about the brother
23:21 is that once he obeys the command,
23:24 he doesn't ask somebody for a cane,
23:29 he doesn't ask nobody for a yorker,
23:33 and he doesn't lay the mat in front of him
23:36 in the event that he falls,
23:40 he's got a soft place to land because when you act
23:43 on the Word of God, you don't need a backup plan.
23:48 You don't need a contingency plan.
23:51 You don't need a plan b.
23:54 C the reason we never know God's plan
23:59 is we're so busy and loyal to our backup plan.
24:05 We always worried about what if it don't work out?
24:09 What if it fails? What if it doesn't come to pass?
24:11 What if God doesn't hear my prayer?
24:12 You will never know what could be.
24:16 If you're always asking What if it does not
24:18 come to pass?
24:21 Are you out here in the world today?
24:24 You're in some point.
24:26 You've just got to start acting in faith.
24:30 So you got to start writing the book before you find
24:33 a publisher.
24:35 You got to start writing the music.
24:36 Before you find a record producer, let's discuss why
24:41 you got to start the ministry before you find the money.
24:44 Like at some point you got to stop asking
24:46 what ifs and just saying God.
24:49 What did you say to me?
24:53 This thing got even better
25:00 because you know what Paul said.
25:02 Money, noise,
25:06 all Paul said
25:08 was stand up
25:15 now, church.
25:18 It would have been enough of a miracle if he just stood up.
25:22 Hey, that's shouting right there.
25:26 If he just stands up on two feet, that ain't never worked.
25:32 But you know what I like about the brother
25:34 is that he doesn't let caution smother his faith.
25:41 Okay, so come and sit. Says
25:46 that before you jump up out of your seat.
25:50 What he should've did was test it.
25:51 That right leg first
25:55 to make sure it's work and common sense says
25:58 test the left leg.
25:59 Second to make sure it's work.
26:03 And common sense says wiggle your hips
26:06 to make sure they're firing.
26:08 But the thing I like about this brother
26:12 is he ain't got no common sense with his faith.
26:15 He doesn't test the waters.
26:18 He doesn't test his legs.
26:21 He doesn't walk.

26:30 But the brother doesn't start with a step.
26:33 He doesn't start with a run.
26:35 But the Bible says that he starts
26:41 not with a step.
26:43 Cause it's not a step.
26:44 Yeah, it's not a stand.
26:47 Yeah. I declare
26:51 in the name of Jesus
26:54 that yes, I live here now
26:59 I have a I love this brother.
27:05 He's saying you ain't always

27:14 Sometimes God says, Forget the process
27:18 and I'm gonna let you take a lead
27:21 in Jesus name.
27:23 Can somebody say I'ma take a spiritual leap
27:28 of faith?
27:28 Leap, oh, forgiveness, leap.
27:32 And professionally and financially
27:37 and socially.
27:39 Get off of your feet
27:42 and take a leap
27:45 in Jesus name,
27:47 my, don't wait for a step.
27:52 Don't wait for a stand.
27:55 You just got to take a leap.
