00:05 #S092 - “ Don't Wait Till The Last Minute” (Part 1)
00:19 While you're standing I want 00:20 to invite you to go with me and your Bible today. 00:23 We're going to go right back 00:24 where we were last week to mark chapter four. 00:27 Mark, check the forum. 00:28 We're going to begin together at verse number 35. 00:31 Mark chapter four. 00:32 And we'll begin together verse number 35 00:35 when you find it just say, Pastor, I'm there. 00:39 If you're coming to say, Pastor, I'm coming, 00:43 and if you're lost, just tell your neighbor I need some help. 00:48 Mark Chapter 4/2 Book of the New Testament 00:51 in the New Testament. 00:52 Mark Chapter and verse 35. 00:55 Again, when you're ready, say, Pastor, I'm there. 00:59 The Bible says on the same day 01:03 when evening had come, he said to them, 01:07 And this is important. 01:08 He said to them, Let what? 01:12 Let us 01:14 cross over to the other side. 01:17 Now, when they had left the multitude, 01:20 they took him along in the boat as he was, 01:24 and other little boats were also with him. 01:27 And a great windstorm arose and the waves 01:29 beat into the boat so that it was already filling. 01:33 But he was in the stern, asleep on a pillow 01:36 and they awoke him and said to him, Teacher, 01:41 do you not care that we are perishing? 01:46 Then he arose and rebuked 01:49 the wind and said to the sea 01:52 and he said, Oh good Lord, we didn't get that. 01:57 He said to federal employees, 02:02 he said to the citizens of this nation, 02:06 Peace, be still. 02:08 And the winds ceased and there was great calm. 02:13 But he said to them, and this is what he's asking us, 02:17 and this is really a part of the message today. 02:20 Why are you so fearful 02:23 and how is it 02:25 that you have no faith? 02:29 And they feared exceedingly and said to one 02:32 another, Who can this be? 02:35 That even the winds and the waves obey him? 02:40 Today, saints for just a little while got his help. 02:44 I want to talk to you under the subject. 02:45 Don't wait till the last minute. 02:49 Don't wait till the last minute. 02:51 Let's pray, 02:54 Father, 02:57 I need more of your spirit than ever before 03:03 to minister in this word. 03:06 I am praying today that the same calm you gave to that sea, 03:13 that you would give that same calm to those 03:17 who are concerned about job and concerned about health 03:20 and concerned about kids and concerned about marriage 03:25 and concerned about government the same way you gave steel 03:28 2000 years ago. 03:31 Would you 03:31 provide that same stillness to us today? 03:35 So, Lord, would you please hide me in the shadows of the cross 03:38 that Jesus alone might be seen, 03:41 that Christ alone would be heard? 03:43 And at the end of our time 03:44 together, let Jesus alone be praised. 03:47 Bless us. 03:48 To this end, we ask in the mighty name of Jesus, our Lord, 03:51 let those who love Him say together, amen. 03:54 And a man you may be seated in the House of the Lord today 03:59 is again talking under the subject. 04:04 Don't wait till the last minute. 04:10 Church I have been impressed to remind us 04:15 that we serve an awesome God. 04:21 We serve a God who is omnipotent, 04:25 which means he has all power. 04:29 We serve a God who is omniscient, 04:32 which means he has our knowledge. 04:35 We serve a God that is omnipresent, 04:38 which means he's everywhere at the same time. 04:42 And if God is omnipotent, 04:45 it means there is nothing He cannot do. 04:48 And if God is omniscient, 04:52 it means there is no problem he cannot solve. 04:56 And if God is omnipresent, it means there is no situation 05:00 you face where God is not present 05:03 and his word saints carries the weight of his wheel. 05:09 So that Romans four says that he calls those things 05:12 that are not as if they already are, 05:17 and those things that are not become 05:19 whatever God declares it to be. 05:23 And even the limitations 05:25 of God highlight His strength, 05:28 because God only has a few limitations. 05:33 The Bible says He cannot lie. 05:36 God cannot fail and our God cannot be defeated. 05:40 I said, we serve an awesome God today, 05:45 but this truth only matters 05:49 if you are convinced that God is for you. 05:54 Is there anybody that believes that God is on your side? 05:59 Is there anybody that believes that God is on your team? 06:03 Is there anybody convinced that if God is for you, 06:06 there is nothing that can stand against you? 06:10 And the reason that is critical is that as believers, 06:13 we will face life's perils and life's storms. 06:18 And God's word today is that no matter what you face, 06:22 don't spend time worrying about the score. 06:25 As long as Jesus is on your team. 06:28 Let me say it this way. 06:29 I remember 06:30 watching the Jordan documentary called The Last Dance. 06:34 Anybody saw that before? 06:36 And it was documented that Jordan was so good that in 06:39 practice when he was on the team with the starters, 06:44 they would play games against the reserves. 06:47 And when the starters were winning, 06:50 what the coach would do is he would switch Michael 06:53 to the losing team with the reserves 06:56 and it is stated that he was so good 06:59 that the team that was losing would start winning 07:01 whenever Michael was on the team and the belief was that 07:06 whatever team Michael was on was going to win. 07:10 Now, the reason that excites me is because I'm on a team 07:13 with a guy named Michael. 07:15 That's pretty good. 07:16 And Revelation 12, Michael says that 07:19 Michael defeated the devil and his angels. 07:23 You is that when the devil disputed about the body 07:26 of Moses, Michael rebuked him and brought him on up to glory. 07:31 And Daniel, 12, says that Michael is about to stand up 07:35 and start some trouble that only he can in. 07:39 And the word today is, if Michael Jesus is on your team, 07:43 I need you to know that you're on the winning side 07:47 and you don't have to fret no matter what the score is. 07:50 Oh, you are with me today. Church 07:52 Now, friends, as I go into this message, 07:55 I want to begin to actually here at the way at the end. 08:00 Now, last week we talked about the fact that the disciples 08:03 found themselves in a storm at the command of Jesus 08:08 Christ, and Jesus is asleep on a pillow. 08:13 And remember, last week we talked that the miracle was 08:16 not just that Jesus was able to stop the storm, 08:21 but the miracle is that Jesus was able to sleep in the storm. 08:26 And what we learned last week is that no matter how chaotic 08:29 your outer world, 08:30 there should be nothing that disrupts your rest and friends. 08:35 As I looked at it, there was an impending danger 08:39 and panic that began to seize the disciples. 08:43 And they cried out to him in fear and declared, Master, 08:48 don't you care that we are perishing? 08:51 And Jesus stood up in the boat with the powers of heaven 08:54 at His command. 08:56 And the Bible says that he rebuked the wind and calm 09:01 the sea. 09:01 And the Bible says that after he spoke 09:05 that the sea entered into a space of great calm. 09:09 Now, what captured my attention, Saints, 09:12 is that after Jesus calms the sea. 09:15 Notice, Mark, that he does not soothe 09:18 the disciples with calm exhortations. 09:22 Notice that he does not pat them on the back 09:25 and comfort them with gentle words. 09:28 No, it is that he does not apologize 09:31 for taking so long to wake up from a sleep. 09:35 But the Bible says that he rebukes them sharply 09:39 and says, Why is it that you have no faith? 09:45 Now, friends, the reason this 09:48 captured my attention is because I start to wonder 09:53 how the disciples are supposed to respond in that moment. 09:57 In other words, if the boat is sinking 10:00 and waves are breaking in, what is their response 10:05 in that moment? 10:06 In fact, to call on the name of Jesus 10:10 feels like the appropriate response. 10:14 But when I look at Jesus rebuke, what guided my study 10:18 this week was the question that the disciples then needed 10:22 to answer, and the disciples today need to settle. 10:26 What did Jesus expect the disciples 10:29 to do in a sinking boat? 10:32 How should disciples respond when things are out of control? 10:38 Why does Jesus get upset when He awakes him? 10:41 They are wake him out of sleep. 10:43 The question is what do we need to know 10:48 when we face our moments of storms? 10:50 Are you with me today? Church. 10:52 Now, the reason this text is powerful 10:55 because it has implications for the journey of faith. 11:00 And the first thing Jesus wanted them to know 11:03 is that He will never lead them where he cannot keep them. 11:08 Let me say it again. 11:10 I need you to know that God will never lead 11:14 you where He is unable to keep you. 11:17 Now this friends, I hope ministers to somebody 11:21 who is nervous about this situation, 11:24 but I hope that it helps 11:25 somebody who is nervous about their salvation. 11:29 Notice that at 11:30 the beginning of the journey, Jesus says to his disciples, 11:35 Let us go over to the other side. 11:40 Okay, now, maybe they should have been nervous 11:45 if Jesus said, Let me go over to the other side, 11:49 maybe they should be scared 11:51 if they just decided to go to the other side. 11:56 Apart from the command of Jesus, maybe they should be scared 11:59 of Jesus. 12:00 Just said, y'all go to the other side. 12:04 But notice his language is inclusive. 12:07 He says, Let us go over to the other side. 12:11 And the thing somebody needs to get is that 12:13 Jesus invitation is also Jesus guarantee. 12:19 And other words. 12:20 When Jesus says, let us go over to the other side, 12:26 it is a guarantee that nothing they encounter on the journey 12:31 is going to keep them from getting to the other side, 12:35 because Jesus will never leave you where He cannot keep you. 12:38 Y'all not with me today. 12:40 See how many of us understand that whenever Jesus gives 12:44 an invitation, the invitation is also a guarantee, 12:51 so that when God invites you, you become his responsibility. 12:56 And wherever He leads you 12:59 there is nothing that He cannot keep you from. 13:03 So when he says, Let's go over to the other side, 13:07 there is nothing that can keep them from getting there. 13:10 In other words, church, their outcome is not decided. 13:15 When Jesus comes to see the outcome is determined. 13:19 As soon as Jesus gives them the invitation 13:23 and the word to somebody today is that when Jesus invites you 13:26 to start the journey, Jesus is responsible 13:31 and guarantees that you complete the journey. 13:34 In other words, his invitation is his guarantee. 13:38 Let me say it this way. 13:39 You know, my kids are kind of small, 13:41 and when they get a birthday every now and then, 13:44 we will invite 13:45 their friends to the house or over to a place for a party. 13:51 Now understand that whenever you give an invitation, 13:55 it also comes with a guarantee. 13:58 So sometimes parents will say, Pastor, 14:01 can we bring something to eat or can we stay around and help? 14:05 And I'm grateful for the consideration, 14:07 but understand that when I give you an invitation, 14:12 it also comes with a guarantee that we are going to make sure 14:16 your kids have enough to eat 14:18 because I gave them the invitation. 14:22 It comes with a guarantee that if they get sick, I'm 14:24 going to take them to the hospital 14:26 because I gave them the invitation. 14:30 It comes with a guarantee that if danger comes, 14:33 I'm going to protect them like they're my own 14:36 because I gave them the invitation. 14:38 And somebody needs to know 14:40 that when God gives you an invitation, 14:44 it comes with a guarantee that you're going to be fair. 14:48 When you take the invitation he's going to provide. 14:50 When you take the invitation, he's going to protect you. 14:55 When you take the invitation, because the invitation is 14:58 your guarantee. 15:00 And see, perhaps 15:02 friends, the reason that Jesus is upset with the way 15:05 they wake him up is because he's already given a guarantee that 15:12 they're going to make it over to the other side. 15:15 And so you let me suggest to somebody who is walking in steps 15:20 that have been ordered, by God, I need you to know 15:22 that ordered steps can sometimes be stormy steps, 15:28 and that God will never lead you where he's not 15:31 going to keep you. 15:32 Now, I want to say this as well to somebody in these last days 15:37 who's somewhat anxious about their situation, 15:40 but more so, I want to speak to somebody 15:43 who is anxious about their salvation, because the truth 15:46 is, friends of mine, this world is not our home. 15:50 And by the grace of God, you and I 15:53 are headed to the other side 15:56 and see the reason I need somebody to know 15:58 this is because Jesus invites us knowing who we are. 16:05 He invites 16:06 us knowing how far we have to go. 16:09 He invites us knowing how many times we're going to follow. 16:14 He invites us knowing how much work needs to be done. 16:18 And so if God invites you to the other side, 16:22 then He's got the capacity to get you to the other side. 16:26 Now, now, the reason I'm saying this is because there are some 16:30 who are bit spiritually displaced today, 16:33 and there are some who are in a spiritual drought, 16:36 and you can't see 16:37 how you're going to make it to the other side. 16:41 There are some today that are in spiritual bondage 16:44 and some falls. 16:45 Have you doubting whether you can make it to the other side? 16:50 There is someone in a state of backsliding or confusion 16:53 and you don't think that you have 16:55 the spiritual strength to make it to the other side. 16:59 And there is an idea that I want to propose today 17:04 that it is not your job to get to the other side. 17:09 It's this responsibility to get you to the other side. 17:14 I know this is going to challenge somebody today, 17:17 so our job is just to choose salvation. 17:21 But it is his responsibility to deliver salvation. 17:24 And I see the reason that some of us are fearful 17:28 about our salvation is we think that it is our words 17:34 and our faith, openness and our dedication 17:38 that gets us to the other side. 17:41 But understand, friends of mine that it is his responsible 17:46 to get you from this side to the eternal 17:50 to something that he just provides a little grace 17:54 and the rest of the response Stability lies on us. 17:57 But the devil is a liar. 17:59 Am I preaching to anybody today? 18:01 See, some of us are afraid because we think our salvation 18:06 is 25% Jesus and 75% us. 18:11 But the reason I have certainty about being saved 18:14 is that my salvation is 1% me, 18:17 but it's 99% Jesus. 18:21 It is his job and his work in us that gets us to the other side 18:28 as he. 18:28 The reason I want to say this, 18:29 as I was meeting with some students this week, 18:33 they are seeing the things that are happening 18:36 in the political world and in the physical world, 18:38 and they are nervous 18:39 about last day paroles and last day trials. 18:44 And they said, I'm not sure if I have what it takes 18:47 to get through the time of Trump. 18:48 I'm in trouble. Right. Right. 18:52 Tomato, tomato. 18:53 You're not hearing me today. And other words, 18:56 they are nervous about apocalyptic endings. 19:00 But what I need somebody to know is that it is not 19:04 your strength that gets you through. 19:08 It is the hand of God that brings you to the other side. 19:13 So. So can we go in the word for just a little bit today? 19:17 Go with me in your Bibles to John, chapter ten and verse 19:20 27, John chapter ten and verse number 27. 19:25 Because there is somebody that is worried about 19:27 can I survive the time of trouble 19:29 and can I endure the time when the plagues are falling in 19:34 and the world is going crazy? 19:35 Are John Chapter ten and verse 27. 19:38 When you get there, say, man, 19:40 the Bible says, My sheep hear 19:43 my voice and I want and they want. 19:48 I have given them what 19:51 and they shall never want. 19:55 Neither shall anyone snatch them out of my hands. 20:00 Oh, God, I wish I had a church with me today. 20:03 My father, who has given them to me, is greater than them all, 20:09 and no one is able to snatch them out of my father's hand. 20:15 I wish I had a living church that knows that 20:18 when you have submitted yourself to God 20:23 and you have settled yourself in His hand, 20:26 there is no person to sing, no adversity, 20:30 no affliction, no plague, 20:33 no BS, no false prophet, no dragon 20:37 that can snatch a child of God 20:40 out of the hands of the Messiah. 20:44 Are you out here in the world today, friends? 20:48 Can we go a little further? 20:49 Go with me to Philippians chapter one and verse six, 20:53 cause I need somebody to lead 20:54 with just a little bit more certainty today. 20:57 Philippians one and verse six, 20:58 When you get this, they pass from there. 21:01 The Bible says, being what? 21:04 Come on, church being what? 21:06 Confident of this very thing 21:09 that he who has begun a good work 21:12 and you will complete it until the day of what? 21:18 In other words, if God started a good work in you? 21:22 Has He done any work in your life? 21:24 Has he call something to jump off in you? 21:27 The word says that if he started it in you 21:31 that he is going to complete it until the day he comes. 21:34 And the word to somebody today, 21:36 it doesn't matter how many times you fall, 21:39 it doesn't matter how many times you mess up. 21:42 It doesn't matter how many times you go back. 21:45 If you don't give up on God, guess what? 21:47 God will not give up on you. 21:50 He is faithful to perform it. 21:53 I see some of us still don't believe it. 21:55 So go with me to the book of Ephesians Chapter four. 22:00 If he's in chapter four in verse 30, can we study the word a 22:02 little bit today? 22:03 Ephesians chapter 22:05 four and verse number 30. 22:09 I want you to see something in the word, 22:10 because I need somebody to get cemented 22:12 and settled in some assurances 22:14 that are greater than your situation is. 22:16 Visions four. 22:17 In verse 30, when you get there, say, I'm here, the Bible says, 22:20 and do not grieve what 22:23 the Holy Spirit of God 22:27 by whom you are sealed for the day of redemption. 22:33 Oh, God, my feet by the burnt off. 22:35 No, no. 22:35 The words saying, see, 22:37 all you are focusing on is don't greet the Holy Spirit. 22:40 No, no, no. 22:41 But the Bible says that if you have received the Spirit, 22:45 then you have been sealed 22:48 until the day of redemption. 22:52 In other words, I need you to know that God, 22:54 he says, when I put my seal on you, 22:57 there's nothing that can turn you. 23:00 You saved you, push you out of your faith. 23:05 In other words, free is to be sealed means to be settled. 23:08 It means to be cemented in the truth of the word. 23:12 And to make such a commitment that it cannot be repented up. 23:16 You are hearing me today, saints. 23:17 In other words, I may say it this way. 23:18 I remember a while back 23:19 we had to paint the fence in my back yard. 23:21 We had to stain it. 23:22 And so what we did was we stained it a crimson color. 23:26 But the thing I loved about the stain 23:29 is that the stain came with a seal in it, and 23:33 and the reason the Crimson Stain had to have a seal 23:38 is because one day the sun was gonna burn hot 23:41 and the rain was gonna rain hard. 23:43 But because the stain is seal 23:47 the weather stripping away 23:50 because this got a seal in and some of y'all missed out. 23:52 So is there anybody that knows that the crimson blood 23:57 comes with a seal and is called the Holy Ghost 24:02 that anchors you and cements you in Jesus 24:06 so that nothing can turn you away. 24:09 Thank you for joining us for the breath of life 24:11 Television ministries broadcast to pass through the years. 24:16 We hope and pray that you have been blessed 24:18 by this powerful message. 24:20 Join us next week for part two of 24:23 Don't Wait Till the last minute. 24:27 You don't want to miss what's good family. 24:29 We're excited to launch the newest season 24:31 of the weekend Exhale with B.O. 24:33 Il starting the very first Friday in the month of April. 24:37 I'm going to be starting our new season of The Playbook, 24:40 and this year we're not running from the hard subjects. 24:43 We're running right toward them 24:44 because we believe the word is God's playbook. 24:47 Every second Friday. 24:48 John and myself are going to be leading a conversation 24:52 on dating and relationships entitled Point of View. 24:55 And this year it's even more relevant and more powerful. 24:58 And we're speaking to the matters of your heart 25:01 every third Friday, past a new date in myself. 25:03 We're going to meet all of the leaders in the vision 25:04 there as we look to make some powerful deposits, 25:08 to grow your work, your ministry and your spiritual focus. 25:12 And every fourth Friday, pass a new delight in myself. 25:15 I'm going to be talking about whatever you're talking about 25:17 is going to be the best, 25:19 the brightest, most powerful season ever. 25:22 And we're excited to launch a new program. 25:24 It's for the ladies. 25:25 It's the title Girls Night In where you get 25:28 a ladies perspective on culture and spirituality. 25:31 So again, 25:32 they're starting the very first Friday in the month of April 25:35 8 p.m. Central Standard Time. 25:37 I look forward 25:38 to seeing you each Friday night at the weekend. 25:40 Exhale will be oil 25:49 what's good family. 25:51 Joe 228 25:52 says that in the last days I'm going to pour out my spirit 25:55 on all of. 25:58 Your sons and daughters will prophesy. 26:00 Your young men will dream dreams. 26:02 And your old men are going to see visions. 26:05 I want you to know family that we are living 26:07 in the age of visions and dreams. 26:11 That's why I would invite you to our second annual 26:14 Breath of Life Vision and Dreamers conference. 26:18 Last year, hundreds came from all over the country, 26:22 and we had a great time of instruction and inspiration. 26:25 But this year, we're going to do it even bigger. 26:28 Make sure you save the date 26:30 for November the seventh through the ninth 26:33 with this year's Vision and Dreamers conference. 26:35 We're going to be blessed 26:36 by the awesome ministry of the hip hop preacher.
