00:05 #S095_”It's Already Done” (Part 2)
00:19 Welcome to the Breath of Life. 00:21 Television Ministries broadcast with Pastor Debleaire Snell. 00:26 in today's episode, Pastor Snell will 00:28 preach part two of the powerful message. 00:31 “It's Already Done.” Now 00:34 let's go deeper into the word of God. 00:37 But the good news is that even where 00:40 medicine falls short, 00:43 you still got to leave room for some miracle 00:46 to take place because medicine has a limit. 00:52 But miracle has no limit. 00:55 So that where medicine falls short, you ought to leave 00:57 room at the altar for God to show up 01:02 and do something supernatural that medicine cannot accomplish. 01:07 Now, now, I want to just take a moment, 01:09 and I think we ought to give God a very strange kind of praise, 01:12 because there are some of us 01:13 that look at the Scriptures, sometimes a little incorrect, 01:16 and we kind of say, Man, oh, man, 01:18 because I ain't never had no miracles. 01:23 You know what I think, Bobby? 01:24 Instead of being mad that you ain't never had a miracle, 01:28 maybe you ought to praise God. 01:29 You never needed a miracle. Okay. 01:33 In other words, how many of us know 01:35 that miracles are designed to assign or complete needs? 01:41 They are not sent to help with your personal indulgences. 01:45 Okay. 01:46 In other words, some of us are. 01:48 Thank God I hadn't had a miracle because you never needed 01:52 a miracle. 01:53 Okay, y'all, y'all slow. 01:55 Y'all tired tonight? 01:57 You ought to thank God that Jesus didn't ever have to spit 02:00 in your ass. 02:02 Cause when you open up your eyes, 02:03 you can see 02:05 you ought to thank God he didn't have to put his hand 02:07 in your ears. 02:09 Because every day you woke up, you're able to hear 02:12 you are to thank God 02:13 he didn't have to multiply fishes and loaves 02:16 because your refrigerator is always full. 02:19 You ought to say, God, he didn't have to take a coin 02:21 out of his mouth because you got enough money in the bank. 02:25 You ought to thank God 02:26 he didn't have to call a demon out of your body 02:30 because you're clothed in your right mind. 02:33 And instead of complaining, you ain't got no miracle. 02:36 You ought to thank God that he's rebuked the Devourer. 02:39 So you never needed 02:42 a miracle. 02:43 Out here in the world tonight, Prince. 02:47 Third thing this teaches us tonight, Prince, 02:51 is that at some point, 02:54 his word is going to have to be enough. 02:58 At some point, his word is going to have to be enough. 03:01 So the man hears that 03:04 Jesus has come back to the Galilee side. 03:08 Now, I'm not sure if He knows exactly Jesus exact location 03:11 or coordinates, but more than likely 03:13 what the man has had to do is he has had to walk through town 03:18 and eavesdrop on every conversation 03:21 to find out where Jesus might wind up being. 03:25 And so, friends, I can see this thing with a desperation. 03:28 His palms are sweaty, man. 03:31 His sand, those straps are broken. 03:33 There is an anxiety in his voice 03:36 as he looks for the location of Jesus. 03:39 And so he finds a small crowd by the market, 03:42 and he looks to see if Jesus is there. 03:45 But this just folk having their daily gossip. 03:47 He hears a shout 03:49 over in the tavern and he goes to see if that's Jesus. 03:53 But they're just rejoicing 03:54 because the Lakers made the playoffs. 03:56 But then he hears a buzz in the air 04:01 and he begins to hear south of acclamation. 04:04 And he finds himself at the feet of Jesus. 04:08 Well, he makes a request for Jesus to come 04:11 and lay hands on his child. 04:16 Now, understand, church, notice 04:18 that there is a quirkiness and Jesus response. 04:22 Have you ever noticed that 04:23 Jesus does not respond with this overwhelming compassion? 04:28 He does not respond in this affable way. 04:32 In fact, the energy of Jesus is kind of strange. 04:35 I can see him take an exhale that suggests frustration. 04:39 Maybe Jesus in this moment rolls his eyes. 04:42 In fact, man, this man's faith is about to collapse 04:45 because Jesus does not answer in the affirmative. 04:48 Jesus, man in frustration, says, Man, you folks 04:52 won't believe 04:55 unless you see signs and wonders. 05:01 Now understand what is going on in the book. 05:03 Desire of Ages. 05:04 Alawites says that Jesus reads the table of the man's heart. 05:09 I see. 05:10 The problem with the man is he had created a scenario 05:15 that he would not believe unless Jesus came to his house. 05:20 In other words, at this point in the scenario, 05:23 he has not literally believe he is still in the trial period. 05:29 Unless Jesus comes, he's not going to believe. 05:32 He wants the Messiah to audition 05:34 for his faith. 05:38 And Jesus is saying, No, no, no, no, I ain't got no, 05:41 I ain't got to prove that I'm God, I'm already gone. 05:45 Don't set no audition for me. 05:47 You got to come with faith. 05:49 Y'all hearing the word tonight, Prince? 05:52 But then there's a larger issue at play, because it is not 05:55 just a an acute rejection, a rebuke of the individual man. 06:00 He is the eye responding to the unbelief of the community. 06:04 Now, in order to get these friends, 06:05 you got to read the entirety of John Chapter four. 06:10 Remember that Jesus ministers to a Samaritan woman 06:13 who had a bunch of husbands and was now shacking up. 06:17 And the Bible says that after he ministered to her, 06:20 that based upon the word that she took her water pot 06:25 and began telling everybody about a man 06:27 that told her everything that she had ever done. 06:31 And the Bible says that many Samaritans 06:34 came to here based upon the woman's testimony. 06:38 But then they get to sit at the feet of Jesus 06:41 and hear the word, preach the word. 06:43 And the Bible says 06:44 that they begin to believe based upon the word 06:49 that was spoken. 06:51 Now, friends, you've got to juxtapose 06:54 what is happening with the outsiders, the Samaritans, 06:58 those who do not know God. 06:59 Those who are not people of covenant. 07:02 They believe based on the word but the covenant. 07:05 People don't believe until they say something. 07:10 And it's crazy because it shows the danger 07:13 of getting too religious. 07:18 Because one of the things 07:19 I notice in the body of Christ is that if you grow religious 07:25 but not spiritual, your faith won't age well. 07:29 Because the truth is that many of us 07:32 do not have a faith that is aging well. 07:35 The longer we are in the way, our faith is actually 07:37 being diluted. 07:38 In fact, the problem with our church is that we are 07:41 doctrinally stopped, but our faith is daily diluted. 07:46 And the truth is that 07:47 the longer we are in the way, we become more rational, 07:51 more realistic, less believing, less hopeful, 07:55 less trust, and less less brain in our religious experience. 08:00 But how many of us understand that your greatest 08:03 season of faith it should not be when you first believe 08:08 it should not be ten years ago, but your faith ought 08:11 to be peaking in the season you are in right now. 08:16 Chances are you'll hear what I'm saying today. 08:18 Church. 08:19 And it's funny because this man 08:23 is there at a disappointing space 08:26 and it's funny because, man, the rebuke initially goes 08:28 completely over his head because he turns right around 08:33 and says, Jesus, I need you to come 08:36 to my house. 08:41 And Jesus, understanding his blindness, looks at him 08:46 with conviction, gives him an assurance. 08:50 That is carried by the stream of the Holy Ghost. 08:54 So that it can illuminate the darkness of his heart. 08:58 And he just tells the man, Go your way. 09:01 Your son is healed. 09:03 He let them know it's already 09:06 done. 09:09 Now, Church, I need you to know 09:12 that this miracle is more necessary 09:15 for us than most of them, because this 09:19 man's miracle actually represents 09:22 our experience with Jesus Christ. 09:26 See, we like the healing of Jairus because we can see 09:30 Jesus go with him to the house and speak the work. 09:34 We like the woman with the issue of blood 09:37 because we can see her touching him physically 09:41 and feeling in herself that she is made whole. 09:44 We like the story of Lazarus because he goes directly 09:48 to the home of Lazarus and everybody is able to witness it. 09:51 We like those miracles. 09:53 You hardly hear this one preached on 09:55 because there is no visual of things getting better. 09:59 But understand that 10:00 this man represents our experience in Christ. 10:04 Because when he makes this request like us, 10:07 there's not an immediate reply like us. 10:11 He Jesus doesn't come to his house like us. 10:14 He is not able to see the miracle happen like us. 10:18 All he has to go on is the Word of Jesus Christ 10:24 and say, The reason I need somebody to get this 10:27 is that at some point we're going 10:28 to have to get to a place where the word alone is 10:32 enough for us. 10:36 That's why, friends, the Bible says faith 10:38 come by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. 10:42 There are somebody who is saying, Pastor, 10:43 I would believe 10:44 if I was able to see Jesus the same way they saw Jesus. 10:48 No, the devil is alive 10:50 because the Bible says in the beginning, what's the words? 10:53 And the word was with God and the word was God. 10:57 And the word simply became flesh and dwelt among us. 11:01 So that if you don't believe what's in the word 11:03 you wouldn't believe, if you got to see the word. 11:07 And that's what friends of mine, we got to recognize that God 11:09 says the grass is going wither and the flower is going fade. 11:14 But the Word of the Lord is going to endure forever. 11:18 Can I show you something about the power of the word? 11:19 Real quick. Got me to Psalm 138 and verse two. 11:22 I need you to see some real quick, 11:23 some 138 and verse two, I want you to see this 11:25 in the scripture tonight, 11:26 Psalms 138 and verse number two, I need you to get to the place 11:31 where your faith is based upon the word Psalms. 11:34 138 and verse number two. 11:37 When you get to them who say that 11:39 no notice what the Psalms say. 11:40 He says, I will worship toward your holy temple 11:44 and praise your name for your loving kindness and truth, 11:49 for you have magnified your word 11:52 even above your own name. 11:57 Okay, God help us all to go. 11:59 Did you catch that church? 12:00 He says he's magnify the word even above his own name. 12:06 And so if you think there is power in his name, 12:12 if you think demons tremble at his name, 12:16 if sickness flees at his name, 12:20 if you think there is authority in his name, 12:23 I need you to know there's even more power in his word. 12:28 His word is what anchors us. 12:31 His word is what convinces us. 12:33 His word is what sustains us. 12:37 You will stop believing based upon what you see. 12:40 But you have permanent belief based upon what's in his words. 12:45 And so Jesus just speaks the word to the man 12:48 and says, Your son is well. 12:51 And notice that the man believes simply based upon the word, 12:55 his countenance changes just because of the word 12:59 that his heart is full, because of the word 13:02 he is able to relax because of the word. 13:05 And I'm looking for a church of believers 13:08 that knows that we've got to learn to get settled in the word 13:13 well, we learn to find solace in the word. 13:16 What we learn to know. 13:17 Deliverance is in his word and ah, y'all hear me tonight? 13:22 Church Next thing this teaches us really quick 13:26 is that at some point you're going to have to 13:28 prioritize God's plan 13:32 over your preference. 13:35 See, friends might need you to see this thing in your head 13:37 because this man, 13:39 man, he has done everything in his power to get to the feet 13:41 of Jesus Christ. 13:43 In other words, 13:44 you got to realize that even through faith, 13:46 he has painted a picture in his mind 13:49 of how this thing is going to go down. 13:50 Louis 13:52 He can actually see man Jesus consenting to come to his house 13:56 and how Jesus is going to lay hands on his sick child. 14:01 And because he's seen it in his head happening 14:04 a certain way, he can't unsee what he's seen in his head. 14:09 But how many of us know 14:10 that sometimes God doesn't do it 14:15 the same way you saw it happening? 14:19 In other words, there is a moment 14:22 where He is wanting 14:23 Jesus to come in person, because if Jesus comes in person, 14:27 that gives him certainty. 14:28 If Jesus comes in person, it gives him security. 14:32 If Jesus comes in person, that is His evidence. 14:35 And in addition to that, if Jesus comes in person, 14:39 it elevates his social standing and other words. 14:41 There is a certain way 14:43 he wants God to do it, but God doesn't do it 14:45 the same way He planned it. 14:47 Now, why is that critical? 14:48 Because remember, 14:49 they're over in Galilee, but the man lives all the way 14:52 in Capernaum. 14:53 Now, scholars say that a normal time 14:57 takes them about a day to get back home. 15:00 But if he rushes, he can get back home that same night. 15:03 Maybe in about 10 to 12 hours. 15:06 But understand that if he does it 15:10 the way he wants it to be done, the boy's got to suffer 15:13 for another half a day or a day before Jesus gets there. 15:19 If He does it his way, the son is in pain longer. 15:23 His wife, the son is hurting longer his way. 15:28 There is grief longer his way. 15:31 The son actually dies, but God does in a way 15:35 that he could not see, that he could not understand. 15:38 But God's way is better than the man's way. 15:43 In other words, his way actually delays his son's release. 15:49 And what I'm saying to somebody tonight 15:50 is that sometimes you got to trust God with your request. 15:56 That's why I'm thankful for Romans eight that says, man, 15:59 we don't even know what to pray for like we should. 16:01 But the spirit intercedes for us with groaning is in moaning, 16:05 which cannot be uttered 16:06 because sometimes we don't even know what we need. 16:10 So now remember me? 16:11 In my last year in high school, 16:12 you know, my last Christmas before 16:14 I went off to college, I remember, you know, 16:16 I had asked my parents, asked what we wanted, 16:18 and I asked, you know, since back in the day, 16:19 I think I wanted 16:21 the newest thing at the time was the Sega Genesis, 16:23 and maybe it wasn't the Genesis, 16:24 but I wanted a video game for Christmas. 16:27 But you know, my parents got me church, 16:29 they got me a big, thick winter coat 16:33 and I live baby in Florida. 16:38 Now I want you to know that I am big man 16:42 cause all my friends are getting a new Sega 16:45 and all I got was a thick coat that I could hardly 16:48 wear four or five days of winter in North Florida. 16:53 Now, the reason I didn't really appreciate 16:54 it is because at the time 16:56 I was planning to just go to school there in town 16:59 in Tallahassee, but I didn't realize 17:01 God was going to steer me here to Huntsville for four years, 17:06 where you actually have real winter for four years. 17:09 And on top of that, 17:10 I didn't realize I was going 17:12 to wind up in grad school and Barry in Springs, Michigan 17:16 and other words, that 17:18 video game will have been done after about two years. 17:23 But that coach lasted me for the next seven years. 17:26 And so what I wanted was not what I needed. 17:30 And when I got to Michigan, I didn't have to buy a coat. 17:33 It was already done cause it had been provided for me. 17:38 And what I'm saying to somebody tonight 17:39 is that sometimes what you want is not always what you need. 17:46 You are here in the word tonight, friends. 17:48 And so the word says, go with me one last time. 17:51 John, chapter four, I need you to see this. 17:53 I'm about done. John Chapter four. 17:57 I want you to see this in the Word of the Living God. 17:59 John Chapter four. 18:03 And the Bible says here in verse number 51, the Bible says, 18:06 and as he was going down, his servants met him 18:11 and told him, Your son's little son lives. 18:16 And then he inquired of them the hour when he got better. 18:18 And they said to him yesterday, 18:23 Oh, you out and get this. 18:25 Yes, today. 18:27 Oh, I'm still not here yesterday at the seventh hour. 18:34 See, one of the things I've learned, Church, about faith 18:37 is that faith ain't never in a hurry. 18:41 Okay. Okay. 18:43 Oh, did you know this? 18:46 Faith is never hasty. 18:48 Faith is never anxious. 18:51 Faith is never panic. 18:52 And it's disposition. 18:55 Let me show you how much faith this man had. 18:58 Do you realize scholars say that this man. 19:01 He lives about a day's journey from Galilee. 19:05 But if he rushed 19:08 where 19:10 he could have got back home 19:12 the same night, normally 19:18 it would take about a day if you take your time. 19:23 But if he hurried, he could get home the same night. 19:27 But because he believed 19:32 the word that Jesus spoke, 19:35 he didn't have to hurry home 19:38 to see if the miracle had been done. 19:42 He was able to take his time 19:45 because he knew that it was already done. 19:49 Oh, you ought in cassock and other words, you know, 19:52 if it was you 19:53 and your child was sick, 19:55 you would have been running red lights. 19:57 You would have been honking your heart, 19:59 you would have been knocking folk over. 20:01 You would have been in a frenzied mess 20:03 trying to hurry and get back to the house. 20:06 But man, Tim, I can see now this brother 20:09 stopped by Red Lobster to get some to Latvia 20:13 and Galilee. 20:14 He stopped by the mail place to get his feet wash 20:18 and get a pedicure. 20:19 He stops by the mall to go to the Nike store. 20:24 He goes by the sports bar to talk a little Lakers 20:28 conversation. 20:29 And it's crazy that by the time he gets there, 20:32 the Bible says his services 20:34 are on the outskirts looking for them 20:37 and they're not going to tell him the news. 20:40 They're coming in, wondering 20:42 what's taking him so long to get home. 20:45 In other words, he's come with a lot in one hand 20:49 shopping bags and another hand, and he ain't in no rush 20:53 because he knows that it is all ready, done 20:59 in Jesus Christ. 21:03 He didn't ask him, did he get well? 21:08 He just asked him what time did it happen? 21:11 He wasn't asking if it happened. 21:14 He just want confirmation that it happened. 21:17 And what I need somebody to know is that when you got faith, 21:20 you ain't got to rush God or rush yourself. 21:24 Cause, you know it's already done. 21:26 Listen, I'm about to take my seat, 21:28 but I want to tell somebody tonight 21:30 that you ain't got to rush into a marriage 21:34 because God already prepared the right person, 21:37 and it's already done. 21:38 And you can take your time. 21:40 You ain't got to climb over nobody to get a promotion. 21:45 I need you to know in Christ is already done. 21:49 You ain't got to rush into a new situation 21:52 because in Christ is already done. 21:55 Do I have seven saints tonight that can take the hurry 21:58 out of your spirit and the frenzy out of your soul? 22:03 You ain't got to rush into a new job. 22:05 You ain't got to rush into a relationship. 22:08 You ain't got to rush to a new doctor because you know 22:12 that is all ready done 22:16 can to church out hallelujah tonight. 22:22 And I simply want somebody to understand 22:26 that we've got to get to a place where we put our trust 22:29 in his word, all his promises in him. 22:34 They are in him. They are. Yeah. 22:37 And all of his promises to him. 22:39 They are a man. 22:40 We can trust Jesus with everything that we have. 22:45 And I need somebody to know 22:47 that as the old song says, Well, you trying to figure it out? 22:51 God has already worked it out. 22:55 I don't know if there's anybody anybody ever had God 22:58 provide a blessing 22:59 or answer a prayer in such a way that when you look back on it, 23:03 you realize that thing you was fresh at about 23:05 and stressing about and worried about. 23:07 When you look back on it, you realize 23:08 God had already done that thing, 23:11 it was already done. 23:13 It just needed to be revealed 23:15 that he just simply needed to be made manifest. 23:18 And I need us to know that in this world, 23:19 with this much uncertainty and there's a lot that is unstable, 23:23 I need to know your permission. 23:25 It is sure you. 23:28 I want somebody to know that every need 23:30 you have it is already on God's agenda. 23:34 I want somebody to know that you're worried about it. 23:36 Grad school. 23:37 It's already done.
