00:00 (gentle music)
00:03 - Welcome everyone, we're excited 00:05 to share some country wisdom with you. 00:07 - King Solomon had a thing or two to say 00:09 about the path to wisdom. 00:11 In Proverbs 4 he wrote, 00:13 "Let your eyes look directly forward 00:16 and your gaze be straight before you. 00:18 Keep straight the path of your feet 00:21 and all your ways will be sure." 00:23 - Join us now for Country Wisdom. 00:25 (gentle music) 00:34 I almost feel like I can't introduce this episode 00:37 without bragging that this fellow is my friend. 00:40 Dr. Philip Samaan. 00:42 He's been teaching for years at the university level. 00:45 He's written, I don't know how many books at this point, 00:47 just in the last year five 00:49 and the list goes on and on of his credits. 00:53 But the biggest credit of all is he loves Jesus Christ. 00:56 Dr. thank you for coming today. 00:58 Really appreciate it. 01:00 And I know something Janice and I have talked about 01:03 is you've written books on the fragrance of Christ. 01:06 And I was hoping today, if you have time here 01:08 to address a little of that, what is the phrase? 01:10 - My ministry is goes by a title Christ Way. 01:17 Christ's way to help our people do things Christ's way, 01:23 whatever the subject is like praying Christ's way to pray 01:27 like restoration, Christ's way to restoration, 01:29 Christ's way to make disciples, Christ's way to reach people 01:33 Christ's way to affirmation and encouragement. 01:36 So these are some of the books that focus on 01:39 how we need to be Christ centered 01:41 and follow Christ's example in everything we do. 01:44 There was a controversy about spiritual formation 01:48 some years back. 01:49 So I wrote a book called "Christ's Way to Spirituality", 01:52 and I thought to myself, isn't Christ the best example 01:55 to be spiritual? 01:56 Why should I seek any other specialists 01:58 if Christ is a prime example of spirituality? 02:01 So I have a book about that. 02:02 - He has it all. 02:04 I've got to mention right now we're on the campus 02:07 and the lawnmowers are going, the chainsaws are going, 02:09 but hope everybody can just focus on you 02:11 and what you have to say here. 02:12 - Yes, I hope I hope that doesn't effect negatively 02:16 our interview. 02:17 I think it's getting less and less. 02:20 - Jesus has such an incredible subject 02:23 and wants to be such an incredible friend. 02:26 How does all that happen? 02:27 - I mean, it's the most amazing thing 02:29 that we have the privilege to study and emulate 02:33 the God of the universe. 02:35 It's amazing. 02:36 I mean, you can study friends, you can study people, 02:38 you can study specialists 02:40 but Jesus is the ultimate in everything. 02:43 Creator of everybody, creator of the universe 02:46 and someday by God's grace, we'll be able to interview him 02:49 instead of me and he could tell you about the secrets 02:52 of the universe. 02:53 Won't that be exciting? 02:55 Well, and how could anybody miss out on salvation. 02:58 So it's really smart to be connect with Jesus. 03:02 And it's not very smart to veer away from him. 03:06 - Now I believe that some of our viewers have no idea 03:09 who Jesus is. 03:10 What would you tell them? 03:12 - Jesus is the answer to everything 03:14 because the two biggest problems this world has, everybody. 03:17 Hindus, Buddhists, atheists is a need 03:21 to know how to deal with sin. 03:22 Sin is the biggest problem for everything. 03:26 And then life. 03:28 I mean, how do you have life? 03:31 Many, many prophets and many religious founders 03:33 tried to solve the problem of death, they couldn't. 03:37 And to solve the problem of sin, they couldn't. 03:40 And you know, like the Bible says, 03:41 the wages of sin is death. 03:44 You see, sin results in death, 03:46 but the gift of God is eternal life 03:48 in Jesus Christ our Lord. 03:50 And so why is Jesus so important, so vital 03:52 is because he is the only one who's uniquely qualified 03:57 to give you his righteousness instead of your sin, 04:00 his life instead of your death. 04:02 And everybody needs that. 04:03 So Christ is not just for you and me or the Christians, 04:05 Christ for the world. 04:08 - Dr. as you were talking, I was thinking 04:10 of, Terry and I have filmed in many places of the world. 04:13 And we filmed a piece of Buddha buried here 04:16 and a piece of Buddha in this other location 04:18 and a piece of Buddha there. 04:20 But we went to the tomb of Christ 04:22 and we couldn't find any Jesus. 04:25 - I wonder where he is. 04:27 - I think you've got the answer. 04:29 - Well I mean, he is in heaven, 04:32 ever living to intercede for us. 04:34 He is alive in heaven, ministering in our behalf. 04:36 I don't want to degrade any religion. 04:38 I have respect for all religions, 04:40 but there's something unique about Jesus. 04:43 None of the others have that. 04:45 And just like in John 3:16, it says 04:47 "For God so loved the world." 04:49 And plus, from the Greek original Greek 04:51 because John wrote this in Greek 04:54 that he gave his not begotten, 04:56 the word begotten doesn't exist. 04:58 He gave his monogeneous son. 05:00 Monogeneous means, mono means one, 05:03 geneous means kind, one of a kind, unique. 05:07 So it's more accurate to read that for gospel of the world. 05:09 He gave his unique son. 05:11 Why is he unique? 05:12 That's the blessing is found in that uniqueness, 05:15 he's unique in knowing how to take care of sin. 05:17 Nobody else can deal with sin, 05:19 no psychiatrists, no psychotic. 05:20 You could pay them billions of dollars. 05:22 They cannot resolve the problem of sin. 05:25 Only Jesus could because he took it upon himself 05:30 and who can solve the problem of death. 05:31 Nobody, nobody has life. 05:33 He is life, the way, the truth and the life. 05:37 And then because he possesses life. 05:39 He can give us his life and take away our death. 05:43 What a great bargain. 05:45 If anybody likes bargains, 05:47 this is the greatest bargain in the world. 05:48 He says, if you submit yourself to me, if you trust me, 05:51 I'll take away your sin 05:53 and give you my robe of righteousness. 05:56 I can take away your death and give you instead, 05:59 my life abundant life eternal, 06:01 you cannot find a better bargain that. 06:04 And if we're smart, we would follow that. 06:06 - And. 06:07 - Go ahead. 06:08 - Yes, between you two I really don't have to do anything 06:11 but just sitting here and nod and smile. 06:14 Scripture says that there is only one way 06:18 and it's because there isn't anyone, 06:20 whether it's Buddha, Muhammad, whoever, 06:23 there is no one who can offer us that rest. 06:25 - It's a statement of fact, it's not like we're boasting 06:28 or say we're better than you. 06:30 No, no, no. 06:31 It's a statement of fact, Jesus is life. 06:34 He is God, he is divine. 06:37 And that's the reason he came to help all of us, 06:39 other people showed some way or some method. 06:42 He is the way. 06:44 Others tried to find a segment of truth 06:46 which I am the truth. 06:47 I embodied through life. 06:49 I'm not going to show you a way of life, I am life. 06:52 You receive me, you receive life. 06:54 - So he says, I'm not gonna take you 06:56 to show you where it is, it's right here in me. 06:59 - You know, because Thomas who dealt with it 07:02 said how do we follow? 07:03 We don't know where you are, where you're going, 07:06 how do you expect us to follow? 07:07 He said, listen, you don't have to find a way. 07:10 I am the way. 07:11 If you know me and love me and submit yourself to me, 07:14 you already found the way. 07:15 I'm the way, the truth and the life. 07:16 If you have me, you got all of these three things. 07:19 As simple as that. 07:22 - I'm still concerned about those 07:24 that are watching right now, listening to you 07:27 and they're thinking about it. 07:29 They don't know God. 07:31 Where do they go? 07:33 How do they get to the point of meeting Jesus Christ? 07:37 - Well, I mean God reveals himself. 07:41 Why does he reveal himself? 07:43 Why do you think he reveals himself? 07:45 Because he loves us. 07:47 Every time you love somebody, you want to share something 07:50 with them about you. 07:52 So God didn't come to this world silent. 07:55 He expressed himself. 07:57 How do we hear this expression of God? 08:00 Look at nature, look at the things of nature. 08:03 I mean, nature speaks to us. 08:04 There's a designer behind the design. 08:07 Things didn't come here by accident. 08:09 Look at you, Jim, my good friend, 08:11 this nice hat and the cover up didn't come by chance. 08:15 Do you understand? 08:16 - [Jim] Oh yeah. 08:18 - I don't want to exclude you, you have some nice outfits. 08:19 No way by chance, somebody designed it. 08:22 And this is a simple thing. 08:24 Look at the smartphones. 08:27 Wow, amazing what they can do and all the other inventions, 08:31 because God is the designer behind the design. 08:36 God designed us. 08:37 And he gave us the ability to be creative. 08:40 In nature, we have to observe nature. 08:41 Many people when they observe nature, 08:43 they learn a lot of nature. 08:45 You look at a rose, who made that? 08:46 Who can invent a rose? 08:48 Secondly, the other book of God is the Bible. 08:52 The Bible, why? 08:54 Because it talks about God, 08:55 God talks to us through the pages of the Bible. 08:58 I mean, wouldn't you want to read a book, 09:01 that's written by a famous author? 09:04 Wouldn't you? 09:05 - That's a good point, isn't it? 09:07 - But now it's not, I had the students 09:09 writing a research paper who didn't know much about research 09:11 and footnoting and at the end of the page, 09:17 you have footnotes, 09:18 you write the, you type the last name of the person, 09:21 comma first name and the name of the book, publisher, author 09:25 and then she came to the Bible. 09:26 That's it, I've never seen it before. 09:28 Cause usually when you quote the Bible, 09:29 you just open the brackets and you put Matthew 5:11 09:33 and you close the quote, that's it. 09:34 - Or you might put what version it is, 09:35 whether it's King James or the revised standard. 09:38 - Nothing about the author. 09:40 And she came with a research paper and there it says, 09:45 God, the author last name, God comma, the holy spirit, 09:51 comma, the Bible and when it was published and where. 09:55 I said, I'd never seen it before. 09:56 - I hope you gave her an A. 09:57 - Yeah I gave her an A, yes, it was a good paper. 09:59 And she said, you know Dr. Samaan, 10:01 I mean, I don't know I don't know much about priesthood 10:02 but if they give credit to John Wilson, 10:05 to Jim Albrect whatever, why not give some credit to God? 10:09 He the best author in the world. 10:11 - That's a great point. 10:12 - Yeah, I mean I never thought I saw it that way 10:14 we take for granted, there's a book he inspired, 66 books. 10:20 Wow, it's a love letter to humanity. 10:22 Wouldn't I be curious to find out what God has in mind? 10:26 I want to know. 10:27 I want to know what God has in mind. 10:31 - My kids once came across a bundle of old love letters 10:35 from their dad to me, they thought they were hysterical, 10:39 but those letters still mean something to me. 10:43 They're concrete reminders of just how much I was 10:46 and still am loved. 10:49 The Bible is full of love letters to us from God. 10:55 This little track has dozens of them. 10:58 If you need some concrete reminders 11:00 of just how much God loves you, get your free copy 11:04 of "A Love Letter from Jesus". 11:07 Go to talkingdonkeyinternational.org 11:10 and request offer number 122, "A Love Letter from Jesus". 11:19 - Hey Janice, how are you doing? 11:21 - Hey, you wrote another book. 11:22 - I did, had a burden on my heart 11:24 and God helped me get it done. 11:26 - So "The Plan of Love", what's it about? 11:30 - Well, it's really about God in eternity 11:33 saw everything that was going to happen here. 11:35 And his amazing love he says, 11:38 I'm going to take care of the problems. 11:39 I'm going to take care of the situation 11:41 by giving my own life. 11:43 He did all that, but we've been lied to so much. 11:46 We don't see what God has planned for us, 11:48 what God is doing for us. 11:50 Matter of fact, the angel came down to Mary and said, 11:53 you shall call his name Jesus for he shall save his people 11:57 from their sins. 11:58 Notice it wasn't in, but from. 12:00 - Where can people get the book? 12:02 - Hey, I'm glad you asked. 12:04 Folks if you'd like your own personal copy, 12:06 log on to talking donkeyinternational.org. 12:08 And please, if you would send us a donation of $12. 12:11 - [Janice] Or more. 12:12 - Or more, and we'll get you the book 12:14 and I'll be happy to sign it for you too. 12:16 Thank you so much. 12:20 I mean, you taught the Bible and all these things 12:24 so many years unpack the Bible a little more for us 12:26 for people to help them fall in love with God's word. 12:29 - Because I think especially people who don't know God 12:33 who might just be flailing around in life 12:36 going, where do I turn? 12:38 The Bible can seem intimidating. 12:41 I was an English major. 12:43 I love reading Shakespeare, 12:45 but for your average American nowadays, 12:48 it would be, they can't get through Shakespeare. 12:51 They wouldn't even open it because I can't understand that. 12:55 I wouldn't know what he's talking about. 12:56 - When I mentioned Shakespeare to my students. 12:58 They asked me, where does he live? 13:01 - Oh that's so sad. 13:03 - They have no idea. 13:05 - And I thought the Bible was written 13:06 by a bunch of ignorant fishermen. 13:08 Before I became a Christian, that's all I thought it was. 13:11 - But you know, to answer your question 13:13 is the Bible now is written in simple English. 13:18 - There's so many versions. 13:20 Made for the way you speak so that you can understand. 13:26 - And so, you know, if somebody is not familiar with 13:28 choose the simplest version, it's common English. 13:32 And the other thing is the Bible is, 13:35 to answer your question Jim, 13:37 the Bible is like the history 13:42 of how God dealt with people like you and me. 13:47 How does God work with people? 13:48 That's it. 13:50 It tells you how did he deal with Abraham and Isaac 13:51 and Jacob and dealt with Ishmael, 13:54 people like you and me, John, Peter, 13:57 how did Jesus deal with them? 13:59 The Bible tells you how Jesus works with people 14:02 and that's what we need. 14:04 How does God relate to me? 14:05 And the Bible tells you by many stories 14:08 that we could identify with. 14:11 - First time I picked up the Bible, 14:12 I thought God was impressing me to read it. 14:14 I read Matthew and I, okay and I read Mark. 14:17 I thought that's the same thing I just read. 14:19 I read Luke. 14:20 And I thought, well, this is funny. 14:22 Did they mess up? 14:23 They all got the same thing and then read John, 14:24 I thought this is really strange, 14:26 they got all the same thing. 14:28 I was such a baby, but God just took that. 14:32 - He reached you where you are. 14:34 And they're telling their stories. 14:38 They're giving their witness for what they saw. 14:41 And that's why sometimes it's different 14:42 because they saw things at different times. 14:45 And maybe somebody told them later. 14:46 Like, for example, with Mark, I mean, he's a companion 14:51 of Peter. 14:53 And you could see Peter coming through the gospel of Mark 14:55 because he was his missionary companion. 14:57 And Peter told him many exciting stories. 15:00 I mean, the story about Jesus healing his mother-in-law. 15:04 I mean, why would Mark talk about that? 15:06 Because he was very familiar with Peter 15:08 and he presented his mother-in-law in a very positive way, 15:10 even though many people don't think highly 15:12 of mother-in-laws. 15:13 So you see what I'm saying? 15:15 And like with John, John was modest, 15:17 he's a very humble person. 15:19 He said the disciple whom Jesus loved. 15:22 - He never said me. 15:23 - Yeah never said me. 15:24 The third person singular, the disciple whom Jesus loved. 15:27 But if you look at the Greek and the tense in Greek, 15:30 it says, it doesn't say literally the disciple 15:32 whom Jesus loved, the past tense. 15:35 It says disciple whom Jesus kept on loving, 15:38 which changed the whole meaning. 15:40 It's not like saying John, you better than everybody else. 15:43 No, no. 15:44 But in spite of you and your shortcomings, 15:46 I keep on loving you. 15:48 - So help me doctor, that's linear and the Greek. 15:50 I forgotten, is that linear? 15:52 - You mean linear, yeah. 15:54 From now, till the end. 15:56 That's the same thing with us. 16:00 Jesus keeps on loving us no matter what, 16:04 as if he was telling Peter. 16:06 Peter, I know you stumbled a lot. 16:10 You even betrayed me, denied me I should say three times. 16:17 Peter I want to assure you. 16:18 If you stick with me, you're going to make it. 16:21 And if we stick with Jesus, we're going to make it. 16:23 He made it, we will make it by the grace of God. 16:25 - It's one thing I love about scripture. 16:28 If those stories were all made up, 16:30 I read an interview or watched it 16:33 where an atheist was saying, 16:36 well, it's like Israel needed a hero. 16:39 They built a mythology. 16:41 So they came up with David. 16:44 If I was building a mythology, building a hero, 16:47 I wouldn't have mentioned the mistakes they made. 16:49 If everybody in the Bible were as perfect 16:52 as Daniel comes off, for instance, 16:55 I can't think of anything in the whole story of Daniel. 16:58 - It gives you confidence in the Bible. 16:59 - Where he ever blew it. 17:00 But I love the ones who blew it more than once. 17:04 - It gives all of us hope. 17:05 - [Janice] Exactly. 17:07 - And then the Bible is a real book. 17:08 It's a real book. 17:11 It tells it like it is. 17:12 And it increases your confidence in the Bible 17:14 because it's an honest book. 17:18 - What about those people who say, 17:20 oh, there's so many mistakes in the Bible. 17:22 You can't believe it. 17:24 - Yeah I meet people like that once in a while. 17:27 And that's, I mean, because the devil is trying very hard 17:32 to help people focus on some minutiae, 17:36 he wants to do everything he can to stop you 17:39 from being saved. 17:41 The purpose of the Bible is to help you be saved. 17:44 I mean, should you be stuck in minute minutiae 17:47 that we ignore or we miss out on salvation. 17:53 That's the purpose of the Bible. 17:55 The greatest course we can take in this life. 17:58 No course we take is perfect. 18:00 The greatest course we take in this life 18:02 is to learn how to be saved. 18:05 That's the greatest course to know how to be saved 18:08 and be saved. 18:09 Why? 18:10 Because when we get to heaven, 18:11 we will have limitless knowledge. 18:14 Our minds will function so many times better 18:17 than our minds will be able to comprehend the vastness 18:23 of God's mind. 18:24 You know what I'm saying? 18:25 So why be stuck here and miss out on the real answers 18:29 up in heaven just because maybe a story in Matthew 18:32 doesn't correspond exactly the story in John. 18:35 Like for example, Judas, somebody passed by 18:41 and he was hanging from a tree. 18:42 Then later on, somebody else passed by 18:44 and he was down on the ground. 18:46 Oh, this is not true. 18:48 How could they, excuse me? 18:50 If some witness in a court of law said the same thing. 18:54 Exactly. 18:55 The judge won't believe it. 18:57 The next guy who gave the story about Judas, 19:00 probably by that time, he came down from the tree, 19:03 branch broke. 19:04 So it's as not as big a problem people will make it to be. 19:08 - I read the greatest book by a former police detective 19:12 it's called Cold Case Christianity. 19:14 And he says just that, if you get three or four witnesses 19:18 who are all saying exactly the same thing, 19:20 they know they were colluding. 19:22 - Yes, exactly. 19:23 So it's sensible, it's real to life. 19:27 It doesn't gloss over people's mistakes. 19:31 Look, why would God allow the story of David 19:35 to be told the way it was. 19:36 A man after my own heart, the greatest king in Israel, 19:39 Jesus came from his seed. 19:42 And after he said the man after my own heart, 19:45 why would he say he was a killer, a murderer? 19:48 And not only a murderer, he was adulterous, can you imagine? 19:52 I mean, I wouldn't mention that. 19:53 Who would want to mention that? 19:54 Cover it up. 19:55 But the guy in order to cover a sin 19:58 of having sexual relations with Bathsheba 20:05 the wife of his faithful general, 20:08 took advantage of his absence to do this with his wife. 20:10 What kind of a jerk is that? 20:13 And not only that to cover his, 20:15 he couldn't cover his mistake. 20:17 He wanted to go to bed with his wife, 20:20 so then people would say he was with her and that's her son. 20:23 He said, no, I would not dishonor you all my fellow soldiers 20:29 by doing this, I'll stay outside the house. 20:33 I want everybody to pass by to see me. 20:35 I didn't go in to be with my wife. 20:37 And so David gave up, he said, look, I can't cover this up. 20:40 So the way to cover this up is kill the man. 20:43 Can you imagine, would you like to have a friend like that? 20:46 Just because I'm being loyal and being right with you 20:50 and your people, by the way, he wasn't a Jew. 20:54 He was a Hittite. - He was a Hittite. 20:57 - So what does he get rewarded with? 21:00 Death. 21:02 Take your own death sentence in your hand 21:04 and hand it to one of my generals and he'll read it 21:07 and put him in front of the battle, let him be killed 21:10 to cover that up 21:11 but nothing can be covered before God. 21:13 God, the author, God knows everything. 21:16 You're a man. 21:18 But yet it's mentioned in the Bible. 21:21 This increases my confidence in the Bible. 21:23 It's a real authentic book. 21:25 - Amen, amen. 21:26 Now doctor, our program is called Country Wisdom 21:29 and I've kind of taken around the barn here. 21:32 I kind of want to hear before-- 21:34 - I mean looking at you both, I feel I'm at a barn. 21:37 - We only have a few minutes left. 21:39 I want to bring it to 2 Corinthians 2:14. 21:44 It says, "Now thanks be to God which always causeth us 21:47 to triumph in Christ and make manifest the savor 21:50 of his knowledge by us in every place." 21:53 Kind of bring it back a little to that sweet smelling savor 21:56 of the rose of Sharon. 21:58 - Yeah well Jim, bless your heart. 22:01 Even though you make me feel like I'm in a barn, 22:03 there's a good smell coming through. 22:06 - Thank you, appreciate it. 22:08 Yeah oh yeah. 22:09 We really do. 22:11 - Well the apostle Paul here is using a powerful analogy. 22:16 What's the analogy? 22:18 Analogy of a victorious Roman general over his enemies. 22:23 That's why he used the word triumphal procession. 22:26 So then what happened in the time of the Roman empire, 22:30 when a Roman general was victorious of his enemies, 22:32 victorious over his enemies, what happened? 22:34 He rode into the city on his chariot, 22:39 his head a wreath of victory 22:43 in his right hand he had a scepter of a sword. 22:46 And then he was welcomed from the heart of the city, 22:49 the capital of the empire by musicians, trumpeteers, 22:54 senators, VIP's and others who carried sensors 23:00 burning with incense. 23:04 Report in ancient history that the sweet fragrance 23:06 of the incense would fill the city 23:08 and waft beyond the city walls 23:10 and everybody within the city, outside the city 23:13 smelled the fragrance of victory in the air. 23:16 And now the apostle Paul is applying to Jesus and us. 23:19 And he's saying, Jesus, our victorious general. 23:21 Okay. 23:23 And we are riding with Jesus in this triumphal procession. 23:29 And we are diffusing the fragrance, not incense, 23:33 diffuse the fragrance of his knowledge of the gospel, 23:36 where? 23:39 Everywhere. 23:40 When? 23:41 Always. 23:42 It says actually, two words always and every, 23:44 it's a way of life. 23:46 And also it says that we experienced that we are in Christ. 23:52 And then Christ, because we are in Christ, 23:56 we are United with Christ 23:58 them Christ diffuses that fragrance through us. 24:01 So you have the end proposition and the through, 24:04 the now and I mean the now and always, four words. 24:08 So the fuse in the fragrance of the gospel of Jesus 24:11 is a way of life. 24:14 You know, if he smelled good, Jim, 24:17 why do I talk about you smelling good? 24:19 And you go to church on Sabbath. 24:21 Do you say, you know, I smell good on Sabbath only, 24:23 but Sunday I smelled awful? 24:24 If Jesus in your life, he projects his life. 24:29 If Jesus fills you life, what happens? 24:31 He fragrances your life with his fragrance. 24:35 So therefore like one of my best authors said, 24:37 when you feed on Jesus and when you 24:42 fill your life with Jesus, then he breathes out 24:46 his fragrance through you. 24:48 So people know clearly you don't smell like self 24:52 because we don't smell good without Jesus 24:55 but we smell like Jesus. 24:59 And I used a little summary of the text. 25:06 - Hey, everyone, Jim Ayer here 25:08 for Talking Donkey International. 25:10 You can rest assured that when you follow talkie donkey, 25:13 we're going to take you someplace in the world 25:15 not in the stuffy old studio. 25:17 But if you missed one of our programs, 25:19 although we broadcast all over the world, 25:21 you can go right to our website, 25:23 talkingdonkeyinternational.org 25:25 and check out some of our programs right there. 25:27 And thank you so much for your support. 25:29 (gentle music) 25:35 - My kids once came across a bundle of old love letters 25:39 from their dad to me, they thought they were hysterical, 25:43 but those letters still mean something to me. 25:46 They're concrete reminders of just how much I was 25:50 and still am loved. 25:52 The Bible is full of love letters to us from God. 25:58 This little track has dozens of them. 26:01 If you need some concrete reminders 26:03 of just how much God loves you, get your free copy 26:08 of "A Love Letter from Jesus". 26:10 Go to talkingdonkeyinternational.org 26:13 and request offer number 122, "A Love Letter from Jesus". 26:23 - Now, Phil, we only have about a minute left, 26:25 but right at that camera is your classroom. 26:28 And the students have been listening. 26:30 What would you tell them about accepting Christ 26:34 in their life right now? 26:35 We've got about a minute. 26:37 - And getting that fragrance. 26:38 So they have something to diffuse to other people. 26:41 - Why do you both gang up on me 26:43 and put me on the spot like that? 26:45 I mean, now I have to perform. 26:47 - Because I know you can handle it. 26:48 - You have confidence in me. 26:49 You know, that's how I tell my students, 26:52 many of you get A's, somebody might get good grades 26:58 in my class. 26:59 I want you to continue to be smart, intelligent, 27:03 and get to know Jesus. 27:05 Because when everything is said and done, 27:07 comes down to the wire, we take nothing with us. 27:10 You don't take any grades or degrees 27:11 we take our relationship with Jesus, 27:13 our stable relationship with Jesus. 27:14 So this is the first and foremost priority 27:18 is to open your heart to Jesus. 27:19 And then he fills you with his presence and his fragrance 27:23 because Jesus smells good by the way. 27:25 Okay? 27:27 And so he can fragrance your life with his aroma. 27:29 So when you mingle with people everywhere, 27:31 and people can look at you and say, 27:33 I smell Jesus in you. 27:37 - Amen. 27:39 Thank you so much. 27:40 I hope you come again and do a program for us. 27:42 - Did I okay here, what you were asking? 27:46 Yeah? 27:51 - Thank you for watching. 27:52 Join us again for another exciting Country Wisdom. 27:54 - See you next time. 27:56 (upbeat music) |
