00:03 - Welcome, everyone. 00:05 We're excited to share some country wisdom with you. 00:07 - King Solomon had a thing or two to say 00:09 about the path to wisdom. 00:11 In Proverbs 4, he wrote, 00:13 "Let your eyes look directly forward 00:16 and your gaze be straight before you. 00:19 Keep straight the path of your feet 00:21 and all your ways will be sure." 00:23 - Join us now for "Country Wisdom." 00:26 (gentle music continues) 00:33 (water splashing) 00:43 (water gushing) 00:48 - It is so surprising. 00:50 You've got a whole town just right a few feet away, 00:54 but you come off the beaten path 00:56 and there's this beautiful little glade with the stream. 01:02 What is it about water? 01:03 I could just stand on a bridge like this, 01:05 gazing down the water, 01:06 listening to the ripple for the rest of the day. 01:10 - But we don't have the whole day, but, 01:12 yeah, I think about too, you know, Jesus, 01:14 it was somewhat like that. 01:16 He's at the temple surrounded by Jerusalem, 01:20 the brook Kidron running not far from there 01:23 and it was a festival day, 01:25 kind of toward the end of all the great festivities, 01:28 lots of people there, crowds of people. 01:32 And you've got people bickering back and forth too, 01:34 about Jesus, you know, is he really the one? 01:36 Is he not the one? 01:38 And the Pharisees, the leadership of the church, 01:41 they're badmouthing him all the time. 01:43 And he stands up that day in the midst of everybody 01:46 and this is what he says. 01:47 I wanna read it to you. 01:48 It's in chapter seven of John. 01:50 It says, "In the last day, the great day of the feast, 01:53 Jesus stood and cried saying, 01:55 'If any man thirst, let him come to me and drink. 01:59 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, 02:01 out of his belly shall flow living water.'" 02:06 Wow, what's that all about? 02:07 Flow living water. 02:09 He kind of mixes metaphors a little bit 02:12 because he's also speaking of the Holy Spirit as the water. 02:16 - Well, first of all, I think you have to understand 02:18 what living water is. 02:20 I was researching something not that long ago, 02:24 and with the Jewish rituals of the washing, 02:29 it couldn't just be a bucket with water in there. 02:33 - Old stale water. 02:34 - For the religious part of it, it had to be moving, 02:38 living water, something from a spring, 02:41 from a stream, from a brook. 02:44 And I thought, that is, 02:45 it was just a new thought to me 02:47 because we know water represents the Spirit. 02:51 You can just be sucking in a bunch of water, 02:54 but if there's no outflow, 02:56 you end up attracting mosquito larva and scum on the top. 03:03 - Let's make it a little more graphic, shall we? 03:04 - Well, I mean, it's true. 03:06 - It is, it is. 03:07 - I think a lot of Christians who feel like 03:08 they have the Spirit, 03:10 they're not letting any of it come out. 03:13 - That can sit on the shelf and collect piles of dust. 03:16 The living Word and the living water right there 03:18 and you never taste it, you never look at it, 03:21 you never see it. 03:24 I mean, it's just, it's pretty incredible the things 03:27 that Jesus talked about and the way he spoke of them 03:30 and what he desired for us to have, 03:33 I mean, a living experience. 03:35 - Right, not a stagnant experience. 03:37 - Yeah, not stagnant. 03:38 - Yeah. 03:39 I was saved once. 03:40 I knew Jesus when I was a kid. 03:42 Haven't spoken since, but, you know, 03:45 I'll call 'em up if I ever need him. 03:48 - You know, we laugh about that, but unfortunately, 03:50 it's really true. 03:51 That's a lot of Christian experience. 03:54 I mean, you think about it, 03:56 the Savior of the universe is standing there among them 03:59 that day and they're debating about who is this guy? 04:04 He's a carpenter son, you know. 04:06 And on and on and on and the religious leaders, 04:08 the church leaders who should have been pointing to him 04:10 because they knew all the prophecies. 04:13 They knew where he was to be born. 04:14 They knew everything about him, really. 04:16 God had told them hundreds and hundreds of years before 04:20 to identify him, didn't want it because he might 04:25 cut into their turf. 04:28 - There was something, water's mentioned over and over 04:30 in scripture, but I read something interesting 04:34 on Facebook, of all places. 04:36 Occasionally something good comes out of Facebook 04:40 and it was saying three of the things that people, 04:42 that humans need to live: food, air, water. 04:48 And all three of those, Jesus says he was the Bread of Life, 04:53 the Breath of Life, and the Water of Life, 04:57 everything we need. 04:58 - And you think about the human body 05:00 is made up of at least 60% water. 05:03 Some of the tissues, the lungs are like 85%. 05:06 I mean, even the bones I'm told have 30% 05:09 or more water content. 05:11 We can't live without water. - Right. 05:14 Why don't we go down and get closer to that water? 05:16 - Sounds good. 05:16 - There's a little path I saw. 05:18 - Sounds good. 05:21 - Jeremiah 17:9 tells us that our hearts 05:26 are hopelessly deceitful and sick. 05:29 We're all in desperate need of a heart transplant. 05:33 The good news is that a new heart is available, 05:36 free of charge with no waiting list. 05:39 You can have it here and now simply for the asking. 05:43 This little pamphlet, "A Gift for You," 05:45 is our free gift to you about God's free gift to all of us, 05:51 the gift of a new heart. 05:53 Go to TalkingDonkeyInternational.org 05:56 and request offer number 125, "A Gift for You." 06:02 - Hi, I'm Steve Hicks, Director of Podcast Ministries 06:04 for Talking Donkey International, 06:06 and I'm inviting you to join us for our new daily podcast 06:10 Monday through Friday called "Something's Happening Here." 06:14 I need you to go to the website 06:15 that's on your screen right now. 06:17 That's the "Something's Happening Here" Facebook page, 06:21 like that page, that will make you a follower of it, 06:24 and you will get all of our content as we create it. 06:27 I look forward to seeing you there, God bless. 06:32 - Hey, Janice, how are ya doing? 06:34 - Hey, you wrote another book. 06:36 - I did, had a burden on my heart, 06:38 and God helped me get it done. 06:40 - So, "The Plan of Love." 06:43 What's it about? 06:44 - Well, it's really about God in eternity 06:46 saw everything that was going to happen here 06:49 and his amazing love, he says, 06:52 "I'm gonna take care of the problem. 06:53 I'm gonna take care of the situation by giving my own life." 06:57 He did all that, but we've been lied to so much, 07:00 we don't see what God has planned for us, 07:02 what God is doing for us. 07:04 Matter of fact, the angel came down to Mary and said, 07:07 "You shall call his name Jesus, 07:09 for he shall save his people from their sins." 07:12 Notice it wasn't in, but from. 07:14 - Where can people get the book? 07:16 - Hey, I'm glad you asked. 07:17 Folks, if you'd like your own personal copy, 07:19 log on to TalkingDonkeyInternational.org and please, 07:22 if you would, send us a donation of $12. 07:25 - [Janice] Or more. 07:26 - Or more, and we'll get you the book 07:28 and I'll be happy to sign it for you too. 07:30 Thank you so much. 07:34 (gentle music) 07:38 (water splashing) 07:43 You know, I look at the story of Jesus at the temple 07:47 and the crowds are massive, they're huge. 07:49 He came to minister to all these people, but he also, 07:53 on many occasions, he sought out the individual. 07:57 And I think about it, you know, 07:58 as we talk about living water, 08:00 I think about that one woman he went to see in an area 08:03 that was so despised by the Jews, 08:05 so despised by everybody else. 08:07 They'd never, there wasn't enough Lysol in the country 08:09 to sterilize this area. (Janice laughing) 08:11 - No, I love that story. 08:13 It's one of my favorites, 08:14 the story of the woman at the well. 08:16 Now I know this isn't a well, 08:20 but it was living water and this is definitely here, 08:24 living water, it's moving, there's life in it. 08:27 And when I think of living water, 08:30 that is the story that comes to mind. 08:33 I mean, you reminded me of the story 08:35 where he compared himself there. 08:36 You know, the brook Kidron is nearby. 08:38 They're at the temple, and that's great, 08:40 but if you had just said, 08:42 "What do you think of when you think of living Water?" 08:44 It's the Samaritan woman. 08:45 - It's that story. 08:46 - Yeah. - Yeah. 08:48 A pretty amazing story, you know. 08:49 He's with all the disciples, and of course, 08:51 that's another thing maybe we can get into in a minute 08:53 about the prejudice of those disciples. 08:56 - Oh, I will, I've researched it. 08:58 - Yes, to where he's coming, you know, 08:59 but here he is at this well, 09:01 and he's looking for this woman and she finally shows up 09:05 and she sits down. 09:07 Listen to this conversation. 09:09 "He answered, said to this woman, 09:10 'If you knew the gift of God and who it is that says 09:13 to thee, 'Give me to drink, 09:15 thou wouldest have asked of him to give living water.'" 09:19 And he continues on to talk about this living water. 09:22 And you know, you think about it, 09:23 he's there and he's offering not just water 09:26 from the brook, not just water from the well, 09:29 but his own life, he's offering to this woman. 09:32 - That story, I think, reaches me on a lot of levels. 09:36 Well, for one, I think it's the longest recorded 09:40 conversation of Christ. 09:43 We know that he talked to a massive number of people, 09:45 but that is the longest conversation 09:49 and it's not with one of the disciples, 09:51 it's not with a member of the Sanhedrin, you know, 09:54 Nicodemus, it's with a woman, 09:58 which I really, you know, that calls to me. 10:00 - Single woman in the middle of no place at the moment too, 10:03 which was kind of interesting for Christ. 10:05 - You mentioned that Jesus sought out individual people. 10:09 He didn't just see crowds of people. 10:13 He knew everyone. 10:15 He saw people and saw them in a way that we don't. 10:19 I tend to walk through the mall or through Walmart 10:22 or wherever I am, kind of with blinders on. 10:25 I have a mission and I'm aware that there are people, 10:29 but I don't focus in on my fellow man the way Jesus did. 10:34 - Well, you know, I think it's exciting, Janice, 10:36 that you get to talk about this in a way 10:38 because you've studied the life of this woman in depth 10:42 and actually portrayed her to women's groups 10:44 in various parts of the country, so it's exciting too, 10:46 because many people don't dig into such depth that you have, 10:49 so keep on going, I love it. 10:52 - In fact, one time at a Christian women's retreat, 10:55 I'd done my performance of the woman at the well, 10:58 and the main speaker at that retreat, 11:01 a very well-known Christian speaker and author, 11:04 she made a point of talking to me afterwards 11:07 and I loved it because she said, 11:10 "I could tell you did your research." 11:11 She goes, "Everything in that was theologically 11:14 and historically correct." 11:17 Because I don't want to, you know, 11:19 take a woman in the Bible and try to bring her to life, 11:22 trying to put myself in her shoes and just create 11:26 a little story out of left field, you know. 11:28 Oh, I think wouldn't it be fun if this happened to her? 11:31 - It's not acting what you do. 11:33 This is just portraying the life of a person. 11:36 - And I knew that story, but once I got doing research, 11:43 I just kept seeing new layers to that story 11:45 that I hadn't thought about. 11:47 I knew, okay, Jews and Samaritans hate each other. 11:49 We all, you know, most people who've, 11:51 if you've read the New Testament, 11:53 you get the idea that Samaritans were not very high 11:55 on the Jewish list of people to invite to dinner. 11:59 Jesus, when he ended up there at the well, 12:04 that wasn't an accident because most Jews at that time, 12:10 the most direct route to get from where they were 12:14 to Jerusalem was straight through Samaria. 12:16 That's not what they would do. 12:18 - I like what you said, "That was no accident." 12:20 There are never accidents with God. 12:21 - No, no. 12:23 They're always divine appointments. 12:26 Nowadays I've literally done this. 12:28 I have to go somewhere, I get on the GPS, 12:31 and what I wanna know is what's the most direct route. 12:34 I don't care the most scenic, whatever, 12:35 I just wanna get there. 12:38 Jews in that day would go miles, 12:41 literally miles out of their way. 12:43 They would go east, cross the Jordan, 12:46 which wasn't just like driving 12:47 across the Bay Bridge or something. 12:49 - And it wasn't going in their Tesla. 12:50 They had to walk or have their donkey. 12:53 - Or pay to have someone ferry you across, whatever. 12:56 They would go cross the Jordan, go down through Perea, 13:00 recross the Jordan, all of that, you know, 13:04 doing this really circuitous route 13:07 to not have to set foot in Samaria. 13:10 Those people were literally unclean. 13:12 They weren't purely Jewish. 13:16 Their religion had been infected by foreign religions. 13:22 They were just horrible people in a Jewish mind 13:25 on many, many levels. 13:26 - And this had been building for several hundred years. 13:29 - Oh, a thousand, yeah, back from when Sennacherib 13:33 came and conquered that area and sent the majority of people 13:37 back to Assyria and brought in these five foreign tribes 13:41 to infect everybody there. 13:43 So Jesus, instead of avoiding people, 13:48 she was someone that I actually might have avoided myself, 13:51 not for a racial or religious prejudice, 13:55 but we happen to know from a little later in the story 13:59 that her reputation wasn't the best. 14:03 - [Jim] That's a nice way to say it. 14:04 - [Janice] I'm trying to be polite. 14:05 - [Jim] Okay. 14:07 - You know, at one point he asks her to go get her husband 14:11 and she's very, very coy, you know, 14:14 "I don't have one," and figured it would drop there, 14:18 but he goes, "That's actually right. 14:21 You gave the right answer. 14:23 You don't have a husband, you had five, 14:25 and the guy that you're shacking up with right now 14:28 isn't even your actual husband." 14:32 And her eyes, I wish I'd been there to see that expression. 14:36 So Jesus was breaking through racial prejudice, 14:40 breaking through religious prejudice, 14:43 breaking through a very misogynistic society, 14:47 a Jewish man who would barely speak 14:50 to his own mother in public. 14:52 It was just, "No, you walk 10 feet behind me 14:55 and I'm going to pretend you're not there. 14:57 I will speak to you in our home, 14:59 but out in public, you are not worthy." 15:04 She even says, she asks him, "Why are you talking to me?" 15:08 - You know, the interesting thing about that I think 15:10 is Jesus offers her living water. 15:14 She doesn't wanna talk about it. 15:15 She'll do anything to keep the subject someplace else. 15:19 - Yeah, which I think we all tend to do. 15:20 We don't wanna talk about something 15:22 that might be uncomfortable. 15:24 - Yeah, it hits to the heart. 15:25 - Yeah. - Yeah. 15:26 - So here he is seeking out someone that the disciples 15:31 wouldn't have sought out. 15:32 The disciples were probably, 15:34 when he sent them into town to get food, 15:36 they were probably going, "What is he doing? 15:39 I mean, I'm not gonna argue with the Master, 15:41 but what is he doing? 15:42 Why are we here?" 15:44 I don't know if you knew this. 15:47 Jews could not eat with Samaritans. 15:50 Absolutely. 15:51 There was a rule, 15:52 whether it was actually written or unwritten, 15:54 I don't recall. 15:56 You could buy food if you had to. 16:00 I mean, if you were going to be starving, 16:02 I guess you can buy food from a Samaritan, 16:05 which is what he sent them into town to do, 16:08 but you would never sit down and share food. 16:12 But at the end of this story, they didn't just, you know, 16:14 go on their way, they actually stayed for two days. 16:16 The elders begged him to stay. 16:21 They were eating with, sleeping under the same room with, 16:26 same roof, not room, 16:28 doing all kinds of things that those good Jewish young men 16:32 had been taught would make them unclean, 16:35 been taught by their parents. 16:38 In fact, there was a saying back then 16:41 that the bread of Samaritans 16:45 was as defiling as swine's flesh. 16:52 And what was Jesus doing? 16:54 Sitting down for two days eating the food that they fixed. 16:59 - You gotta tell me more because you skipped 17:00 some of the story. 17:01 - Oh yeah, I know. 17:02 I bounce around. 17:03 I'm blonde, what do you... 17:04 - I'm not gonna touch that. 17:06 - Be glad that there is no squirrel. 17:09 I'd be way off topic. 17:12 So he offers her, you know, 17:14 I love the banter here because she's not really, 17:18 she had to have had some attitude because first of all, 17:21 she's going, okay, "Why are you talking to me? 17:23 You know, first of all, I'm Samaritan, 17:25 and if you hadn't noticed, I'm female." 17:28 she's kind of going, "What is wrong with you?" 17:32 And I love it. 17:35 He's asked her for a drink, 17:36 which was shocking and must have really, 17:39 she must have been torn because Middle Eastern societies, 17:43 desert societies, you don't refuse water to someone. 17:49 But she didn't just offer it up freely 17:51 because prejudice goes both ways. 17:53 She was not happy to see a Jewish man sitting there either. 17:59 And she was probably, her lip probably curled 18:02 when she saw who was sitting at the well. 18:05 It's like, "Oh, great, just my luck. 18:07 Where did this guy come from?" 18:09 - Yeah, I tried to come out of the city 18:10 when nobody'd see me, nobody knew I was around. 18:13 - She didn't really like people. 18:16 He says, "If you knew who you were talking to, 18:20 you would've asked me for water." 18:23 And I don't know if she was blonde 18:26 or if she was being purposely dim. 18:29 She wasn't catching on. 18:30 - [Jim] You at least have no doubt she was blonde. 18:31 - [Janice] You know what I mean. 18:32 - [Jim] Yeah. 18:33 - She isn't catching on that he's not talking 18:35 about real water. 18:37 They're sitting there at Jacob's well, renowned for, 18:40 it was 100 feet deep. 18:41 The water in that well was clear and clean and cool, 18:45 which was, would've been a prize back then. 18:49 And she's going, "I would've asked you for water?" 18:52 And it took her a while to catch on 18:55 that he wasn't talking about literal water. 18:58 She knew the term living water. 19:01 They were Jewish enough. 19:02 Their religions were similar enough. 19:04 She knew exactly the symbolism of that. 19:09 Do you notice what happened to her prejudices 19:11 the moment she did catch on who she was talking to? 19:15 - [Jim] Washed away. 19:18 - Just completely drops. 19:19 She goes running back to town 19:22 to share what she had just found. 19:24 - The cool thing to me is Jesus let her do all this. 19:28 He let her ramble on and on, and you just kind of, you know, 19:31 gently led her step by step. 19:34 - Which he does with us too. 19:37 - Fortunately. 19:38 - And I love the fact that he sought her out. 19:41 I mean, that's a lesson for all of us 19:42 with whatever prejudice we happen to have, 19:46 but it means he seeks me out 19:49 before I even recognize I need him. 19:52 She didn't go to the well that day thinking, 19:54 "I need a Savior." 19:57 But she knew that she was thirsty, not for literal water. 20:03 She knew something was missing in her life. 20:04 She knew she needed something. 20:06 - She'd been trying to fill it, right, 20:07 with every husbanding for years. 20:11 - And we see how that had worked out for her. 20:15 Jesus comes to us before we're even consciously seeking him. 20:20 - The cool thing is he puts that calling in our heart. 20:25 We may never understand that 'till heaven, 20:26 but he calls us, seeks us, before we ever know it 20:30 and he gently draws us toward himself to have that encounter 20:34 that right there at the well. 20:36 - And I frankly, many, many days, weeks, months. 20:43 - Sorry, mosquito. 20:45 - Yeah, I know. 20:46 It's beautiful down here, but nature is attacking us. 20:51 I don't know that I'm always as thirsty as she was. 20:55 That's why every time you read that story, 21:01 my life has not gotten to the uncontrolled out that here was 21:07 where you're even avoiding your neighbors 21:09 'cause you know they're all looking down on you. 21:13 So let's go out at high noon when everybody who's sane 21:16 is taking a siesta and that's when 21:20 I can get to the well and back. 21:21 Not only that, she didn't go to the nearest well. 21:23 Sychar had a well right by the, 21:26 just outside the front gates. 21:28 - It's so- 21:29 - She's going to the one walking half a mile in the heat 21:32 because she knows even if there is an idiot 21:34 who's run out of water, 21:36 they're not gonna walk to the farther well. 21:38 - It's so interesting because as you'd stated, you know, 21:42 she heads back to town and this woman, 21:45 who'd had just a brief encounter with Jesus, 21:48 becomes a witness to the entire community. 21:50 - Right, right. 21:51 I mean she went running back, going literally, 21:54 she says, "Come and see. 21:55 You have to come and see this guy. 21:57 He's told me everything that, you know, 22:01 he knows everything about me inside and out." 22:03 - That was her testimony. 22:04 - Yeah. - Yeah. 22:05 - I mean, how long had she been 22:06 what we would call a Christian? 22:08 - Yeah, well, minutes. 22:10 - Yeah, a few minutes, and the first thing she's doing 22:12 is bringing other people to Jesus. 22:15 And I've kind of wondered, 22:16 and maybe this is just a female thing, I thought, 22:19 "I wonder how many of the neighbors just went 22:21 'cause they wanted to hear every little thing 22:23 that she'd ever done." 22:25 They knew a few, they had kind of the big picture, 22:28 but some of 'em must have gone, 22:30 "Well, I don't know who this guy is, 22:31 but I'd love to hear some stories about her, 22:34 just out of curiosity." 22:36 - And the other neat thing about that in my mind 22:38 is Christ specifically wanted her, 22:42 but he wanted everybody else and he knew she was the one 22:45 to touch everybody else. 22:46 Unlike, he couldn't do it. 22:48 You know, they would've had too many prejudices in a town. 22:51 - And if you are sitting at home, 22:55 you might be going to church, 22:56 you might be reading your Bible, 22:58 but if you are not sharing living water, 23:02 if you are not trying to reach out to other people, 23:06 then I'm not sure you can be that convinced 23:08 that you have living water to start with 23:11 because the first thing that she did was turn around 23:13 and tell other people and bring them to Jesus 23:16 and if I'm not doing that, 23:18 then maybe I haven't really met him. 23:21 - Yeah, good point, Janice. 23:23 - Jeremiah 17:9 tells us that our hearts 23:27 are hopelessly deceitful and sick. 23:30 We're all in desperate need of a heart transplant. 23:34 The good news is that a new heart is available, 23:38 free of charge with no waiting list. 23:40 You can have it here and now simply for the asking. 23:45 This little pamphlet, "A Gift for You," 23:47 is our free gift to you about God's free gift 23:51 to all of us, the gift of a new heart. 23:55 Go to TalkingDonkeyInternational.org 23:58 and request offer number 125, "A Gift for You." 24:04 - Hi, I'm Steve Hicks, Director of Podcast Ministries 24:06 for Talking Donkey International 24:08 and I'm inviting you to join us for our new daily podcast 24:12 Monday through Friday called "Something's Happening Here." 24:16 I need you to go to the website 24:17 that's on your screen right now. 24:19 That's the "Something's Happening Here" Facebook page, 24:22 like that page, that will make you a follower of it 24:25 and you will get all of our content as we create it. 24:28 I look forward to seeing you there, God bless. 24:34 - Hey, Janice, how are ya doing? 24:36 - Hey, you wrote another book. 24:38 - I did, had a burden on my heart 24:40 and God helped me get it done. 24:42 - So, "The Plan of Love," what's it about? 24:45 - Well, it's really about God in eternity 24:48 saw everything that was going to happen here 24:51 and his amazing love, he says, 24:53 "I'm gonna take care of the problem. 24:55 I'm gonna take care of the situation by giving my own life." 24:58 He did all that, but we've been lied to so much, 25:02 we don't see what God has planned for us, 25:04 what God is doing for us. 25:06 Matter of fact, the angel came down to Mary and said, 25:09 "You shall call his name Jesus, 25:11 for he shall save his people from their sins." 25:13 Notice it wasn't in, but from. 25:16 - Where can people get the book? 25:17 - Hey, I'm glad you asked. 25:19 Folks, if you'd like your own personal copy, 25:21 log on to TalkingDonkeyInternational.org and please, 25:24 if you would, send us a donation of $12. 25:27 - [Janice] Or more. 25:28 - [Jim] Or more and we'll get you the book 25:30 and I'll be happy to sign in for you too. 25:32 Thank you so much. 25:38 - You know, before we have to leave 25:39 this beautiful little creek here, 25:41 or I suppose, we're in the South, is it a crick? 25:44 - Yeah, well. 25:45 - Before we leave this crick, 25:47 but there was another thought about the living water 25:51 that Jesus offered the Samaritan woman. 25:55 He didn't just give her a sip, say, 25:58 "Here, this'll take care of just the immediate need there." 26:02 It wasn't even, "I can give you all the water 26:04 you need for the day." 26:07 When he described it to her, 26:09 he said, "It will be like a spring inside of you, 26:15 just bubbling up and running over." 26:18 And that's what she demonstrated. 26:19 I mean, she had barely gotten a mouth full of it 26:22 when she went running to share it 26:24 because when you have that living water, 26:27 you really can't keep it to yourself. 26:29 - [Jim] Very true. 26:30 - He gives you plenty to share with everybody around you 26:33 because that's the intent. 26:35 Fill you and drown everyone next to you. 26:38 - I was thinking, and I'm not putting you on the spot, 26:40 what's that song? 26:41 ♪ I've got a river of life flowing out of me ♪ 26:44 - Yes, right. - That's God. 26:46 - And it talks, the chorus there is "Spring up, oh well." 26:49 It's relating directly to that story. 26:51 - Yeah, it really is. 26:53 And folks, here's the situation. 26:55 Let me read to you, matter of fact, that reminds me, 26:57 in Revelation 22, God says an amazing thing, 27:00 "And he showed me a pure river of water of life, 27:04 clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God 27:08 and the Lamb." 27:09 A river of life, just what you're saying. 27:11 Jesus came down here to show us the Father, 27:15 to show us the eternal life 27:16 and he had that river of life flowing out of him 27:19 and that's the river he wants to give to us too. 27:22 That's what's so amazing, he offers that to us. 27:25 - And the only question is, how thirsty are you?
