00:01 Hello there, Happy Sabbath, Come on in. We're about to meet with
00:06 the King. ¤ ¤ 00:55 Hello I'm Auntie Nat. It's great you could all join us to meet 00:57 with the King We're about to open the Sabbath. Come and 01:00 our worship time together. Hello Auntie Cecily. Welcome to our 01:04 worship time. Hello Children. It's great that you could come 01:08 and meet the King today. And here's Teddy. He's our special 01:12 guest. Welcome Teddy. Thank you for coming and joining with us 01:16 and the children. Auntie Cecily could you please say a pray for 01:20 us to open our worship time together. 01:22 Yes. Dear Father in Heaven, thank you for keeping us safe 01:27 all through the week and thank you for this Sabbath day that we 01:31 can come and worship you together. In Jesus' name Amen. 01:35 Amen. Do you know this is a great time to reflect on our 01:40 week and count the blessings that God has sent us. Ben, you 01:44 have a blessing to tell us today 01:45 My mom and I went to the 01:47 beach and we spent a few hours there and when we went home well 01:52 we went half way home and Mom thought that she had left her 01:56 phone at the beach. So we went back to the beach. Looked there. 02:00 It wasn't there. So we went home and mom was feeling pretty bad 02:04 about losing her phone and it turned out that her phone had 02:08 been there the whole time. 02:09 That's great Ben. Thanks for sharing that blessing with us. 02:12 Auntie Cecily you have a blessing to share with us too. 02:16 It's all about the Sabbath. 02:17 Yes. Later on we'll be studying in the Bible about how God 02:22 created the world in six days and how He set aside the seventh 02:26 day as a day of rest or as the Bible calls it the Sabbath. God 02:31 created the Sabbath on this earth for 02:35 Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden and it's been preserved 02:40 down through the ages for you and me to keep today. Keeping 02:45 the Sabbath on the seventh day reminds of God's mighty creative 02:50 work. God created this beautiful world to show his love for us. 02:55 Having time apart from our daily work and activities on the 03:00 Sabbath helps us to focus on our Lord and Savior and build our 03:06 relationship with Him. The Bible tells us in Leviticus 23:32 that 03:11 the Sabbath goes from evening to evening or as we know sunset 03:16 Friday evening to sunset Saturday evening, a full 24 03:22 hours. This is the time period God wants us to spend especially 03:26 with Him. 03:28 Thanks Auntie Cecily. God's so Good isn't He? Children do you 03:31 know another way that we can worship God on the Sabbath is to 03:35 worship Him in song and we have Pastor Rick here. Thanks Pastor 03:38 Rick for coming and sharing your music talent with us. 03:41 Hi boys and girls. What if we sing together that song This Is 03:45 the Day. You know that one don't you? 04:55 Pastor Rick, can we sing O Friend Do You Love Jesus? 04:58 Oh that's a wonderful song. Let's try that one. 06:29 Can we sing Into My Heart? 06:32 Oh that's a good song. That's a beautiful song. 06:35 Let's try that this way, huh. 07:44 Thanks Pastor Rick. It's great to share God's love in song. 07:49 We had a blessing this week at Sunnyside. Ella can we share 07:54 that with the children at home? 07:55 Yes. Okay, let's go and have a look at that. 07:59 ¤ ¤ 08:03 Hello boys and girls. My name is Dr. John Hammond. Welcome to 08:08 the Australian home of Mrs. Ellen White. Come with me. I 08:14 have some stories to tell you. 08:16 Hello everybody. I'm pleased to be here and hello boys and girls 08:25 I want to tell you a series of stories about a remarkable lady 08:31 one of the most amazing ladies who ever lived and she lived in 08:37 this remarkable house where you are sitting. She used to eat her 08:43 meals at a table in this room and she had some remarkable 08:48 people. But she was born in America in 1827. That's nearly 08:54 200 years ago. It was quite a surprise the day she was born. 09:00 They were expecting one and what do you call when there are two 09:06 babies born together? Twins. Exactly. One was Elizabeth and 09:13 one was Ellen and these stories are about Ellen. She grew up a 09:20 happy little child. We all love babies and as she grew and 09:27 played they loved to go out and play in the woods. She saw 09:33 something one day that she loved. She loved animals. We 09:39 have a few animal stories and the animal that she really liked 09:43 was a little squirrel. We don't have squirrels in Australia but 09:47 I've seen them. They scamper around in summer and they love 09:51 nuts. They go to sleep in winter They get a nut and they stuff it 09:57 in their mouth and they go looking for another one and they 10:01 stuff it in their mouth until their mouths look like... And 10:06 then they go and find a hole in the tree and they push it in. 10:11 Ellen and her friends were out one day and they discovered a 10:15 hole in the tree and they said oh here's some hickory nuts 10:19 and they ate some and they scooped some up. Ellen said oh 10:22 they won't have anything left to eat. Ah don't worry about the 10:27 squirrels. She was so upset she raced home to the barn and she 10:31 got some dried corn and she brought it out and she said I 10:36 don't want these squirrels to be hungry in winter. So she pulled 10:41 the corn off and she got her little fingers and she scraped 10:45 them all off and she pushed them into the hole and then she 10:49 used the corn leaves and covered up the hole because she loved 10:54 squirrels. Well one day when she was nine she was walking across 10:59 the park and there was an angry girl, we call them bullies, and 11:04 she lost her temper. As she was running Ellen said I'm going 11:11 home and she was frightened and the girl picked up a rock. Now I 11:16 went looking for a rock and I reckon this is the largest rock 11:22 a 13-year-old girl can hold that can smash somebody's face. She 11:27 threw it. Ellen turned around and it smashed into her nose, 11:32 it broke her face and she was unconscious for weeks. Her daddy 11:37 was away. She was looking forward to her daddy coming and 11:43 when he came home she was so disappointed because he looked 11:49 right at her and he said who is that? How would you feel at the 11:56 age of nine if your daddy or mommy came home and looked at 11:59 you and said who is it? She was so weak. When she went to school 12:07 after many months, her hand shook so much. The teacher 12:12 called her mommy and daddy. She said take her home. She cannot 12:18 come to school. She cannot learn she's too sick. And finally they 12:23 say that her schooling was over. There she lay at home. She had 12:29 to teach herself how to read and to write. She couldn't even walk 12:35 She had to sit up to read. And God looked down because God had 12:41 an idea. He decided he was going to use Ellen. Now if you wanted 12:47 to choose somebody what sort of things about a little boy or 12:51 girl who is going to be a prophet would you choose? Yes. 12:56 They have to be obedient. 12:58 Obedient. What else? 13:01 Loving. 13:02 Loving and kind. She was all of that and she was too frightened 13:09 that God was going to ask her to be His prophet. To go to the 13:16 whole world. A weak little girl who weighed less than 50 kg. 13:23 She became a wonderful lady. ¤ ¤ 13:30 Hi boys and girls. Happy Sabbath Welcome to our Bible study. If 13:33 you haven't got your Bibles ready yet, go get them now so 13:36 you can follow along with us. Auntie Cecily could you please 13:40 say a prayer for us before opening the word. 13:42 Dear God, thank you for our Bibles. Please be with us as we 13:47 study your word. Please help the boys and girls to understand 13:53 what we read today. In Jesus' name, Amen. 13:57 Okay, we're going to start at the very beginning of our 14:01 Bibles. Open your Bibles to the very first page to Genesis. Well 14:06 done. Okay. Actually Ella can you read from our Remnant Young 14:10 Scholar Study Bible and tell us what it says about the book of 14:13 Genesis. Can you tell me who wrote the book? 14:16 Moses. 14:17 Moses wrote it. Well done. Can you tell me how many years 14:21 approximately does Genesis cover? 14:22 About 2300 years. 14:25 About 2300 years. Well done. Thank you. Okay let's read the 14:29 very first verse in the Bible, Genesis 1:1. In the beginning 14:33 God created the heavens and the earth. So who made the heavens 14:38 and the earth? God. God did. Very simple isn't it? Okay. 14:43 Liam, can you read Genesis 1:3-5 please. 14:46 Then God said, let there be light and there was light and 14:52 God saw the light that it was good and God divided the light 14:57 from the darkness. God called the light day and the darkness 15:03 he called night. So the evening and the morning were the first 15:08 day. 15:09 Good reading. Liam thank you. So the first day God created 15:12 night and day. Auntie Cecily can you pop that up for us on 15:14 the board so that we can all see that. Thank you very much. Okay. 15:19 Ella, can you read Genesis 1:6-8 for us please. 15:23 And God said let there to be firmament in the midst of the 15:27 water and let it divide the waters from the waters. Thus 15:31 God made the firmament and divided the waters which were 15:34 under the firmament from the waters which were above the 15:39 firmament. And it was so. And called the firmament heaven so 15:43 the evening and the morning were the second day. 15:47 Thank you. So God created the sky by dividing the waters. 15:50 Thanks Auntie Cecily. Elijah can you please read Genesis 1:9-11 15:56 and 13 please. 15:57 Then God said let the waters under the heavens be gathered 16:01 together into one place and let the dry land appear. And it was 16:05 so. Then God called the dry land earth and the gathering together 16:10 of the waters He called seas. And God saw that it was good. 16:14 Then God said. Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb that 16:18 yields seed and the fruit tree that yields fruit according to 16:22 its kind whose see is in itself on the earth. And it was so. So 16:26 the evening and the morning were the third day. 16:28 Thank you Elijah. Thank Auntie Cecily for popping that up. 16:32 So on the third day God divided the water that was left and 16:35 created land and sea. What do you see on the land? What sort 16:40 of things? Trees and flowers. Yeah you might see stuff to eat 16:46 didn't He? That's good. Okay. Kate, Genesis 1:16-19 please. 16:51 Then God made two great lights, the greater light to rule the 16:56 day and the lesser light to rule the night. He made the stars 17:00 also. God set them in the firmament of the heavens to 17:04 give the light on earth and to rule over the day and over the 17:08 night, and to divide the light from the darkness and God saw 17:13 that it was good. So the evening and the morning were the fourth 17:17 day. 17:18 Great. Thanks Auntie Cecily. So on the fourth day God created 17:23 the light in the sky and what is in the sky in the day? The sun. 17:29 And in the night? The moon and stars. Okay, Ben can you read 17:34 Genesis 1:21-23. 17:37 So God created great sea creatures and every living thing 17:42 that moves with which the waters abounded according to their kind 17:46 and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it 17:50 was good and God blessed them saying be fruitful and multiply 17:54 and fill the waters in the seas and that birds multiply on the 17:58 earth. So the evening and the morning were the fifth day. 18:01 Thank you Ben. The fifth day God created all our sea creatures 18:07 and all the birds that fly in the sky. Isn't God good? Sarah 18:12 can you please read Genesis 1:25-26 and 31 please. 18:17 And God made the beasts of the earth according to its kind, 18:21 cattle according to its kind and everything that creeps on the 18:25 earth according to its kind and God saw that it was good. Then 18:29 God said, let us make man in our image according to our likeness. 18:33 Let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and the birds of 18:37 the air and over the cattle over all the earth and over every 18:41 creeping thing that creeps on the earth. Then God saw 18:44 everything that He had made and in deed it was very good. So the 18:48 evening and the morning were the sixth day. 18:50 Well done. On the sixth day God made all the animals and he made 18:55 Adam and Eve. Thanks Auntie Cecily. Isn't that interesting 18:59 that when God made Adam and Eve He said. What did He say? It was 19:06 very good. Isn't that good. Okay Liam can you please read Genesis 19:12 2:7-8 please for us and see how He made Adam. 19:15 And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground and 19:21 breathed into his nostrils the breath of life and man became a 19:27 living being. The Lord God planted a garden eastward in 19:32 Eden and there he put the man whom he had formed. 19:35 Wow, that's pretty special and Auntie Cecily I have a verse for 19:41 you to read. Genesis 2:21-22 and 25 and this will tell us how God 19:46 made Eve. 19:47 And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall on Adam and he 19:53 slept. And he took one of his ribs and closed up the flesh in 19:58 its place. Then the rib which the Lord God had taken from man 20:04 He made into a woman. And He brought her to the man and verse 20:10 And they were both naked, the man and his wife and were 20:15 not ashamed. 20:17 Mmm isn't God amazing? We just read that Adam and Eve were 20:20 naked. Do you think Adam and Eve were truly naked? No let's have 20:23 have a look. Our Torchlight, which is Mrs. White's writings, 20:28 she shines on this Bible verse to help us understand it better. 20:33 Let's have a look at it. The sinless pair wore no artificial 20:38 garments. They were clothed with a covering of light and glory 20:42 such as the angels wear. So long as they lived in obedience to 20:47 God the robe of light continued to enshroud them. What did they 20:51 to do for that light to enshroud them? What did Mrs. White just 20:55 say there? They had to be obedient. Yeah. Okay. 21:04 Ella, you've got our next verse for us to read. Genesis 2:1-3 21:09 Thus the heaven and the earth and all the hosts of them were 21:14 finished. On the seventh day God ended His work which He had done 21:18 and He rested on the seventh day from His work which He had done. 21:22 Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it because in it 21:26 He rested from all of His work which God had created and made. 21:31 Wow. So what did God create on the seventh day? The Sabbath. 21:36 The Sabbath. Did we just read a Sabbath day or the Sabbath day. 21:41 The Sabbath day. The Sabbath day So it's a particular day that he 21:46 was talking about and what is the Sabbath day? It's a day when 21:51 when you rest. Yes the Sabbath when He rests and it's the 21:53 Saturday isn't it. Okay so we're going to read something in our 21:58 Bibles and it's in 22:00 Exodus, it's where your book marks are, and we're 22:03 going to read that together and that's our memory verse for the 22:08 day. Are you all ready? You want to read that together? Okay. It 22:13 starts Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy. Six days you 22:18 shall labor and do all your work but the seventh day is the 22:24 Sabbath of the Lord your God. In it ye shall do no work. Ye 22:28 nor your son nor your daughter nor your male servant nor your 22:33 female servant nor your cattle nor your stranger who is within 22:37 your gates. For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the 22:41 earth, the sea and all that is in them and rested on the 22:45 seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and 22:49 hallowed it. 22:50 Do you think God wants us to rest on the seventh day? Yes. 22:54 He does. And what did we find there on the very first word of 22:59 verse 8. What's the word? Remember. So do you think God 23:02 wants us to forget this. No. No He doesn't. He specifically 23:05 put that word remember there. Do you know what number 23:08 commandment that is? Fourth. It's the fourth commandment. 23:12 Well done. So the Sabbath is a very special day and I think 23:16 the fact that God said Remember makes it extra special. 23:19 He doesn't want us to forget it. And on the Sabbath we spend time 23:23 reflecting on the wonderful things God has done for us and 23:26 the blessings He's given us. Thank you boys and girls for 23:30 joining us today in reading the Bible. It was great to have you 23:34 along. God loves it when we read His word because He wants 23:37 to tell you how much he loves you. Next Sabbath when we meet 23:41 again we're going to study about what Adam and Eve did in the 23:45 Garden of Eden and what happened to change our world forever. 23:50 The Sabbath's an opportunity for us to spend time getting to 23:54 know Jesus. One way to get to know Him is to read our Bibles. 23:58 We want to encourage you to read your Bible, not only the Sabbath 24:02 day, but every day. 24:04 Auntie 'Nette would you tell us about the devotional that 24:08 relates to our study today? 24:09 Sure. Yes, we have a seven-day devotional study available on 24:12 creation and the Sabbath, the subject we studied together 24:16 today. This devotional expands on what we learned. You can 24:20 download and print it free from the website which is on the 24:23 screen (www. adaywiththeking. com) This will help you to read your 24:25 Bible every day and to spend time getting to know God. 24:29 Auntie Cecily will we repeat our memory verse that we learned 24:34 today. Yes. Children are you ready to read it with me? 24:37 Exodus 20:8-11 Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy. Six 24:44 days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day 24:50 is the Sabbath of the Lord your God. In it ye shall do no work 24:55 you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant 25:01 nor your female servant nor your cattle nor your stranger who is 25:06 within your gates. For in six days the Lord made the heavens 25:11 and the earth, the sea and all that is in them and rested the 25:16 seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and 25:20 hallowed it. Auntie Nat are we going to sing our blessing 25:24 song to the children. 25:26 Yes, let's do that. 25:27 ¤May God bless you and keep you and fill your heart with love¤ 25:41 ¤May God guide and protect you and watch you from above¤ 25:50 ¤As Sabbath unto Sabbath we greet the day of rest¤ 26:02 ¤The day the day the king of glory has sanctified and blessed. ¤ 26:11 ¤Good bye my friends to repeat again for another day with the¤ 26:21 ¤King. ¤ 26:24 Bye, Good bye. See you next Sabbath. 26:26 ¤ ¤ |
