00:02 Hello there, Happy Sabbath. Come on in. We're about to meet with
00:06 with the King. 00:07 ¤ ¤ 00:54 Hello, I'm Auntie Nat. It's great you could all join us to 00:56 meet with the King. We're about to open the Sabbath. Come and 00:59 join our worship time together. Hello Auntie Cecily, welcome. 01:02 Hello Auntie Nat. 01:04 Hello Children. It's great that you could be with us here to 01:07 welcome the King. And hello Teddy. It's great that you're 01:10 here too. Sometimes I forget you you're so quiet. Auntie Cecily 01:14 would you like to say a prayer please to open our worship time? 01:18 Dear Father thank you for bringing us safely through 01:21 another week. We thank you for the Sabbath and thank you for 01:25 all the girls and boys who are joining us today. In Jesus' name 01:30 Amen. Amen. 01:31 Do you know that this is a great time to reflect on what God has 01:34 done for us this past week. Anna you have a blessing for us. 01:39 Would you like to share that with us? 01:42 Yes. Um, one day we had lost our hymn book and my mommy had 01:49 prayed to God for help that we would find it. And a few weeks 01:56 later Sunny, our dog, was barking in my mom's room and 02:04 we went to see what he was barking at and he was barking at 02:08 our hymn book. 02:10 That's great Anna. Thanks for sharing that blessing with us. 02:12 Auntie Cecily, you have a blessing to share with us as 02:15 well, something about the Sabbath. 02:17 Yes. Remember last time we spoke about how God made the Sabbath 02:21 and how He set aside the seventh day for us as a day of rest so 02:27 we can spend time with Him. Well I want to share with you some 02:31 interesting facts. Do you know that the seventh day of the 02:35 week is actually Saturday and in many different languages around 02:41 the world the word Saturday comes from the word Sabbath? 02:44 Listen to this. This is quite amazing. In the Italian language 02:50 the word for Saturday is Sabato. In the Spanish, Portuguese and 02:57 Philippino languages the word for Saturday is Sabado. In the 03:03 Hungarian language the word for Saturday is Szombat. Here are a 03:09 couple more. In the Czech and Slovenian languages the word for 03:15 Saturday is Soboto. What do you think about that? Think that 03:20 sounds very similar to the word Sabbath. Yes they do don't they? 03:24 I think God is so amazing. He has preserved the word Sabbath 03:29 through the languages around the world to remind us of the 03:34 importance of the Sabbath day. 03:36 Wow! Isn't God good? Thanks Auntie Cecily. Do you know 03:40 another way we can worship God is through song and we have 03:45 Pastor Rick. Hi Pastor Rick, thanks for joining us. 03:47 Hi boys and girls. Let's learn a new song. It's called Remember 03:51 the Sabbath. 05:20 Pastor Rick, can we sing Jesus Loves Me? 05:23 Yeah that's a beautiful song. ._lovely song. 06:50 Pastor Rick could we please sing God Is So Good? 06:54 Oh yes, let's all sing that together. 07:35 Thanks Pastor Rick. It's great to praise God in song. Ben we 07:39 discovered a blessing this week at Sunnyside. Can we share that 07:41 with the children at home. Yes. 07:44 Okay let's have a look at that. 07:45 ¤ ¤ Hello boys and girls. My name is 07:52 Dr. John Hammond. Welcome to the Australian home of Mrs. Ellen 07:57 White. Come with me. I've got some stories to tell you. 08:01 In our last story we were talking about Ellen who was a 08:13 weak little girl and God wanted to use her as a prophet. God 08:18 doesn't use the strongest, He doesn't use the most handsome 08:24 or beautiful. He doesn't use sometimes even the most 08:29 brilliant people. He chooses sometimes the very weak. And you 08:34 know I'll read here in my Bible. He wanted Jeremiah to be a 08:39 prophet and Jeremiah was quite frightened and very nervous. He 08:47 was quite young and he said to God I cannot be a prophet. 08:50 I'm too scared, I'm too small, I'm too weak. I'm too nothing. 08:55 And God said I chose you before I gave you life and before you 09:02 were born I selected you to be a prophet to the nations. I do 09:07 not know how to speak. I'm only a child. And you know, God chose 09:15 weak little Ellen whose face had been disfigured. God wanted her 09:23 and Satan didn't want her and she was so weak. Now I need a 09:28 couple of volunteers. I want to see how strong you are. 09:31 You come then and you come. And you stand over here and 09:38 we're going to just see how strong, because you look very 09:41 strong to me. Now you're left handed. You hold that in your 09:45 right hand and you're right handed. You hold that in your 09:48 left hand and now make your arm completely straight. Hold it up 09:52 and see what it's like. One, two three, four. Your arm's 09:59 quivering, five, six. Oh down you go. I reckon you're very 10:04 strong but you wouldn't want to do that for too long would you? 10:08 You sit down, Chloe. I'm amazed at your strength. And didn't I 10:14 have two lovely strong helpers. I've got here just a little 10:20 Bible. It's not 10:21 exactly a pocket Bible. How'd you like to carry this to 10:25 church every Sabbath. Ellen who was so weak. Ellen was not as 10:30 you were. She couldn't hold this but God gave her a dream, it was 10:37 a vision. And in front of people, four times she did this, 10:44 she picked up a Bible and this Bible here is very, very 10:51 precious because it is an exact copy of the Bible that she 10:57 picked up. She weighed less than 50 kg and she picked this Bible 11:03 up in her weak left hand and straight out. I don't think I 11:11 could do it for very long at all I'm not even going to try 11:17 because this Bible is worth a lot of money. She held it for 11:22 half an hour and some people said ah the devil was helping 11:27 her because a lot of people didn't like Ellen because they 11:31 said the devil was helping her because they were jealous 11:34 that God was using Ellen. And when Ellen was holding out the 11:40 Bible, without looking she opened it and she put her finger 11:44 on a text. She was looking up to God. And when they looked at the 11:51 text it was the exact text that she was quoting. All the texts 11:56 that she was quoting were all about Jesus. Now if the devil 12:03 was with Ellen, she would not be talking about Jesus and she held 12:10 heavy Bibles like this at least four times in her life. The weak 12:17 little Ellen and she worked for God until she was 87 years old. 12:26 And with her weakness she traveled to many, many countries 12:29 and she became a great messenger for God. 12:33 ¤ ¤ Hi Boys and Girls. Happy Sabbath 12:39 Welcome to our Bible study. If you haven't got your Bibles 12:42 ready yet go get them now so you can follow along with us. Auntie 12:47 Cecily, will you say a prayer for us before we open our Bibles 12:51 Dear God, thank you for our Bibles. Please be with us as we 12:56 study your word and please help the boys and girls to understand 13:01 what we read today. We pray in Jesus' name, amen. Amen, Amen. 13:06 Do you remember last Sabbath when we studied the Bible? What 13:09 was it about? God created the world. How many days did it take 13:14 for Him to create the world. Six Six days and what did He do on 13:17 the seventh? Rested. And what was that called? The Sabbath. 13:22 The Sabbath. Wow, so now we're going to look at what Adam and 13:26 Eve did in the Garden. Let's have a look at that. Now 13:30 _ reading. Can you please read Genesis 2:15. 13:32 Then the Lord God took the man and put him in the garden of 13:37 Eden to tend and to keep it. 13:38 Wow. So Adam and Eve's job was to look after the garden. Let's 13:44 look at our Torchlight and see what Mrs. White's writing 13:47 shines on that verse. Kate, can you do that for us please. 13:50 Thank you. 13:52 In this garden were trees of every variety, many of them 13:58 laden with fragrant and delicious fruit. There were 14:02 lovely vines growing upright 14:05 presenting a most graceful appearance where the branch 14:08 was drooping under their load of tempting fruit of the richest 14:12 and most varied hues. It was the work of Adam and Eve to train 14:17 the branches of the vine to form bowers thus making for 14:24 themselves a dwelling from living trees covered with 14:26 foliage and fruit. There were most fragrant flowers of every 14:32 hue in rich perfusion. 14:34 Wow. That sounds like a pretty amazing place, doesn't it? 14:38 That sounds like it was pretty beautiful. Do you think Adam and 14:41 Eve were happy in their home? Yeah I think they were How about 14:47 there was no pain, there was no crying, no sadness and 14:49 everything was perfect. There was no sin. And they could talk 14:53 to the angels and to God Himself face to face. That would have 14:58 been pretty amazing; just like you're sitting here with me and 15:01 Auntie Cecily here today. That's how they could talk to God face 15:05 to face. What about the animals? Do you think the animals were 15:08 hurting Adam and Eve? No. No they weren't because the animals 15:13 ate grass; they didn't eat each other. So it would have been a 15:15 very happy place. Okay. So now let's look at our next reading. 15:20 Ella, can you please read our next reading in Genesis 2:9. 15:24 And out of the ground the Lord God made every tree grow that 15:29 is pleasing to the sight and good for food. The Tree of Life 15:33 was also in the midst of the garden and the tree of the 15:36 the knowledge of good and evil. 15:38 Right. Okay so let's read together Genesis 2:16-17. 15:44 This is our memory verse. You got that, where you're book 15:46 marks are. Genesis 2:16-17 And the Lord God commanded the man 15:50 saying, Of every tree of the garden ye may freely eat, but of 15:56 the tree of knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat for 16:00 in the day that you of it you shall surely die. 16:05 Wow. So they could eat every piece of fruit in that garden 16:09 except from the tree of good and evil. God was testing their 16:15 obedience and faith and love to Him. So one day Adam and Eve 16:20 were working in the garden and Eve wandered away from Adam. 16:26 Now the angels had told Adam and Eve about the story of Satan and 16:31 how he may come into the garden and trick them. So they had 16:36 warned them. But when Eve realized that Adam was not 16:40 beside her she thought ah I'm too wise not to be tricked. I'll 16:45 be okay. What should have she done? Should she gone straight 16:49 back to Adam. Uh-huh. She should have. Oh that was a _. 16:53 She should have thought but Satan had disguised himself as 16:58 a snake or a serpent and where do you think he put himself? 17:02 In the tree. 17:03 In that tree. And do you know what. In the garden of Eden God 17:09 had made snakes into beautiful creatures that could fly in the 17:15 sky. So Satan was like burnished gold and he flew and he was in 17:20 that tree and he was looking beautiful and he had set his 17:23 trap. Do you think that the fruit in that tree was really 17:28 nice and shiny? Yes. They were and that's sometimes what 17:32 seems... Satan can sometimes look a bit shiny and glitzy, but 17:37 is he any good? No. No good at all. So Eve looked onto that 17:42 tree and it all looked beautiful Satan was shiny and glitzy and 17:48 the fruit was glitzy and she was over awed. Do you know what? 17:54 That snake started to talk to Eve. Now do animals talk. No. 17:58 They don't. And this is where Satan had set his trap because 18:02 Eve was so over awed by the sight that she forgot that 18:07 animals didn't talk and she listened to the snake and she 18:11 shouldn't have listened to the snake. Elijah, you're going to 18:13 read Genesis 3:1-6 for us to tell us what happened. 18:19 Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field 18:22 which the Lord God had made and he said to the woman, has God 18:26 indeed said you shall not eat of every tree of the garden. And 18:31 the woman said to the serpent, We may eat the fruit of the 18:35 trees of the garden, but of the fruit of the tree which is in 18:37 the midst of the garden, God has said, Ye shall not eat it nor 18:40 shall ye touch it lest ye die. And the serpent said to the 18:44 woman, you will not surely die for God knows that in the day 18:48 that ye eat of it your eyes will be opened and you will be like 18:51 God knowing good and evil. So when the woman saw that the tree 18:56 was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes and a tree 18:59 that was able to make one wise, she took of the it's fruit and 19:03 ate. She also gave to her husband with her and he ate. 19:07 Ooh, so did they eat the fruit? Yes. They did. Satan lied to 19:14 Eve and he accused God of lying to Adam and Eve. Does God lie? 19:19 No. No he doesn't. Satan is the liar. And we're going to read on 19:24 Kate, you're going to read Genesis 3:7-8 for us. 19:30 Then the eyes of both of them were opened and they knew that 19:33 they were naked. And they sewed fig leaves together and made 19:37 themselves coverings. And they heard the sound of the Lord God 19:41 walking in the garden in the cool of the day and Adam and his 19:45 wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God among 19:49 the trees of the garden. 19:51 Mmm. What happened to the light? It's gone. And what was the 19:58 reason that light kept staying on them. They had to be 20:02 obedient. They had to be obedient. So they were 20:04 disobedient and that light left them. So they were really naked 20:08 now and they were hiding in the garden. They hid from God. So 20:15 Ben can you please read Genesis 3:9-13. 20:18 So the Lord called to Adam and said to him, Where are you? 20:23 So he said, I heard your voice in the garden and I was afraid 20:26 because I was naked and I hid myself. And He said, who told 20:31 you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree which I 20:34 commanded you that you should not eat. Then the man said, the 20:38 woman whom you gave to be with me, she gave me of the tree and 20:42 I ate. And the Lord God said to the woman, What is this you have 20:46 done? The woman said, the serpent deceived me and I ate. 20:51 Mmm. So they were blaming each other isn't it? Can we hide 20:55 anything from God? No. He knows everything. Adam and Eve before 21:01 they sinned man could talk face to face to God. And what's 21:03 happening now? What are they doing? They're hiding from God. 21:08 Because sin has now caused a barrier between them and God. 21:12 They can't see God face to face anymore. That's so sad. Do you 21:15 think God was very sad? He was. He was very sad because he 21:20 couldn't openly commune with Adam and Eve anymore. Now if we 21:23 were to continue reading in verses 14-19 there were some 21:28 serious consequences that happened because Adam and Eve 21:32 sinned. The serpent, he couldn't fly anymore. What happened to 21:36 him? He had to slither on the ground. He wasn't allowed to 21:40 fly. And for Eve there would be much pain for her and for Adam, 21:45 he had to work really hard to now make food, to grow his food. 21:49 Because there were now going to be thorns and thistles. Do you 21:53 think there were thorns and thistles in the garden of Eden? 21:55 No. No there weren't. It was a beautiful place. Auntie Cecily 21:58 you're going to read for us Genesis 3:15 please. And I will 22:04 put enmity between you and the woman and between your seed 22:08 and her seed. He shall bruise your head and you shall bruise 22:14 his heel. 22:15 Mmm. So that tells us that God was going to send us Jesus to 22:19 help us and save us from Satan's grip and destroy him. Wasn't 22:23 that a wonderful thing that God did for us? In the garden of 22:26 Eden He already made a plan to send Jesus. So even though Adam 22:30 and Eve did wrong God still loved them and he was going to 22:33 send Jesus to pay the price for their sin. Sarah, you're going 22:37 read for us Genesis 3:21-24. 22:41 Also for Adam and his wife the 22:44 Lord God made tunics of skin and clothed them. Then the Lord God 22:49 said behold the man has become like one of us to know good and 22:53 evil and now lest he put out his hand and take also of the tree 22:58 of life and eat and live forever Therefore the Lord God sent man 23:02 out of the garden of Eden to till the ground from which he 23:06 was taken. So He drove out the man and He placed Cherubim at 23:10 east of the garden of Eden and the flaming sword which turned 23:13 every way to guard the way to the tree of life. 23:16 Mmm. So what's happening here? What did God have to do? He had 23:21 to make some clothes for them didn't He. And he had to kill an 23:25 animal to do that. Was there killing in the garden of Eden? 23:29 No. There wasn't was there? But God loved Adam and Eve so much 23:33 He cared for them and He wanted to provide some clothing for 23:35 them so that they would be warm. And what happened? Did they have 23:39 to leave that garden? Yes they did. They had to leave and that 23:42 must have been so sad. Do you know what? Because Jesus came 23:46 and died for our sins, we can have eternal life with Him and 23:50 we can be restored back in that garden with God and talk to Him 23:54 face to face like we are talking now. Isn't it a wonderful thing 23:57 that God did for us to send Jesus to die for us. Yes. Yeah. 24:01 Thank you boys and girls for joining us in reading the Bible. 24:05 Jesus loves you so much that he came to this earth and died 24:09 on the cross for you so you can be restored back to Him. What 24:13 great news! When we meet again next Sabbath we will be studying 24:16 the Bible why Satan was cast out of heaven. 24:19 The Sabbath is an opportunity to spend time getting to know our 24:25 Lord and Savior. One way to get to know Him is to read our 24:30 Bibles. Our Bibles tell us how much God loves us. We want to 24:35 encourage you to read your Bible not only on the Sabbath day but 24:39 every day. Genesis 2:16-17 And the Lord God commanded the man 25:21 saying of every tree of the garden you may freely eat, but 25:27 of the tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil you shall not eat 25:32 for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die. 25:39 Auntie Nat are you ready to sing our blessing song to the 25:44 Yes let's do that. 25:49 ¤May God bless you and keep you and fill your heart with love¤ 25:59 ¤May God guide and protect you And watch you from above.¤ 26:10 ¤And Sabbath after Sabbath we greet the day of rest¤ 26:18 ¤The day the King of Glory has sanctified and blessed¤ 26:30 ¤Goodbye my friend till we meet again¤ 26:35 ¤For another day with the King¤ 26:42 Goodbye, Goodbye. See you next Sabbath. 26:44 ¤ ¤ |
