00:01 Hello there, Happy Sabbath, come on in. We're about to meet with
00:07 the King. 00:09 ¤ ¤ 00:56 Hello, I'm Auntie Nat. It's great that you could all join 00:58 us to meet with the King. We're about to open the Sabbath. Come 01:02 and join our worship time together. Hello Auntie Cecily. 01:05 It's great to see you here with us. Hello children. It's great 01:09 that you could come and worship the King. And Hello Teddy, I'm 01:13 glad that you could come as well Auntie Cecily. Would you like to 01:17 say a prayer for us please before we worship the King? 01:19 Yes. Dear Father, thank you for the many blessings that you have 01:24 given us all through the week. And thank you for the 01:27 opportunity to spend the Sabbath with you. In Jesus' name Amen. 01:32 Amen. Do you know this is a great time that we can reflect 01:36 on our blessings that God has sent us this past week. Elijah, 01:41 have you got something that God as done for you? 01:44 Yes. Well we were going to the beach with our friends for a 01:49 picnic and then 01:51 I burnt my finger in hot water. Then we went to the beach and 01:57 I was praying while in the bathroom that God would heal 02:00 my finger so I would have a fun day. Then while we were going 02:04 for a walk on the beach my pain just eased up like that. 02:09 Thanks Elijah for sharing that with us. Auntie Cecily you have 02:12 something to share with us as well about the Sabbath. 02:16 Just as it's a blessing to be obedient as we will discuss in 02:21 our study later on, so it's a blessing to keep the Sabbath. 02:26 God blessed the Sabbath day and sanctified it. We've studied 02:31 about that in Genesis 2. So if God placed a special blessing on 02:37 the Sabbath, we will be blessed if we keep it. Isaiah 58:13-14 02:43 tells us just that. The Sabbath is to be a delight, not a 02:49 drudgery. God loves us so much that He sent His son Jesus to 02:55 leave his heavenly home and to dwell on this earth and to 03:01 teach us how to live. Jesus died on the cross for our sins so 03:04 that we can live eternally with Him in heaven. What an amazing 03:11 thing Jesus did for us. Spending the Sabbath with Him and getting 03:16 to know Him is a way we can express our love and gratitude 03:20 for what He did for us. And if that's our attitude, the Sabbath 03:24 will be a blessing and a delight. 03:27 Praise God. Thank you Auntie 03:30 Cecily, that's terrific. Do you another way that we can worship 03:35 God is in song and we have Pastor Rick here. Thanks Pastor 03:38 Rick. 03:40 Hi boys and girls. We're going to sing another song about 03:42 the Sabbath called My Sabbaths You Shall Keep. 04:41 Pastor Rick may we sing Soon and Very Soon? 04:45 Great song, let's try it. 05:47 Pastor Rick can we please sing Jesus Name Above All Names? 05:53 Yes. 06:26 Again. 06:52 Thanks Pastor Rick. It's great to praise God in song. 07:02 We discovered a blessing at Sunnyside this week. Kate would 07:05 you like to share that with the children at home. Yes. 07:08 Okay, let's go. 07:10 Hello boys and girls. My name is Dr. John Hammond. Welcome to 07:20 the Australian home of Mrs. Ellen White. Come with me. 07:24 I've got some stories to tell you. 07:35 Ellen loved living at Sunnyside. This was her favorite place. 07:40 It had taken a long time to build but you know she got many 07:45 invitations to go away and preach even though she was very 07:50 weak. God gave her strength every time she got up in the 07:54 front. Didn't have planes, didn't have buses, didn't have 07:59 cars but she used to go by train One day she caught the train 08:04 from Door Creek, sent to Sidney and all the way down to Melbourne 08:09 It took her all day and night. And the people at the North 08:14 Fitzroy church were so excited because Mrs. White was coming. 08:18 They got there early. There were the moms and dads, there were 08:22 the boys and girls at the front and when the time came to start 08:26 the meeting the elders were dressed up looking rather 08:32 important. Black coats and their Bibles under their arms and they 08:39 all marched up and they stood on the platform and everybody 08:46 was looking. Where's Elle. She wasn't there. The train was late 08:53 and the elder said well brothers and sisters and boys 08:55 and girls. Ah Ellen's not here yet and she won't be here for 09:03 two hours so we're going to have to sing some songs. 09:06 And they sang every song they could think of. Somebody told 09:10 some stories and they were looking at their watches and 09:15 Ellen hadn't come. Finally the train arrived and in this came 09:22 this little lady in black. So small. And she stood up to speak 09:27 Everybody went quiet. They had never heard her voice before 09:35 but when she stood up her eyes were looking like that. And she 09:42 leaned forward, she opened her mouth and no sound came out. 09:48 Now if I got up in church in front of you, I open my mouth 09:54 to speak and no sound, it would be very embarrassing. And people 09:58 were saying what's wrong with Ellen? Is she sick? Is she 10:03 sick? Is she having a fit? And she started to look around. 10:09 She tried to speak again. Not a sound. She was looking for 10:15 somebody. Then she turned around and she looked at the five men 10:22 behind her and the one on the end when she saw him, for the 10:28 first time she spoke. You know what she said? The most 10:33 frightening words that man had ever heard. She said what is 10:37 that man doing here? He went all red, he rushed off the stage, up 10:43 the aisle, slammed the door and he went home and then she talked 10:49 and she talked for a long time. When she was finished she said 10:55 to Pastor Daniels, I want you to go to that man's house. His 11:00 name is Mr. Davis and I will write a letter and they went to 11:05 the house and when they got there, Mr. Davis was shaking 11:11 he was very frightened. And Elder Daniels started to read 11:17 the letter. And every time it mentioned Jesus' name Mr. Davis 11:24 got angry and he got so angry he grabbed a knife and he pulled 11:29 it out. It was a dagger. And he said don't you mention Jesus' 11:34 name. What would you do if you were really frightened like 11:38 that? They knelt down quickly and when he mentioned Jesus' 11:43 name, he took the knife and he flung it across the room and 11:49 then he started to cry and then he admitted that he was in 11:54 spiritualism and the devil had his heart. He said pray for me 11:58 please. I want the devil to go out of my life and he did. 12:05 He became a strong friend and when Ellen left the country 12:11 years later she collected a whole lot of autographs and 12:16 Mr. Davis wrote in her autograph book and this is what he wrote. 12:22 I have every reason to be positive in my confidence in 12:27 Sister Ellen G. White as a true prophet. And Ellen was able, 12:34 through Jesus, to reach a man whose heart had been taken by 12:41 the devil and he became a soul for Christ and Jesus was able to 12:47 use him. Wasn't that a great story? Thank you. 12:52 Hi boys and girls. Happy Sabbath Welcome to our Bible study. 12:56 If you haven't got your Bibles ready yet, go get them now so 13:00 that you can follow along with us. Auntie Cecily can you please 13:03 say a prayer for us before we open our Bibles? 13:07 Mmm. Dear God, thank you for our Bible. Please be with us as 13:11 we study your word and please help the boys and girls to 13:15 understand what we read today. In Jesus' name, Amen. 13:19 Amen. Do you remember what we studied about last week? 13:23 The armor of God. 13:25 The armor of God and how Satan fell from heaven and what God 13:30 asks us to put on to protect us from Satan. Well done. 13:33 Let's look at the story of Cain and Able today and how sin and 13:37 disobedience caused a lot of pain for Adam and Eve. 13:41 Liam, you've got our first verse today. Would you like to read 13:43 that in Genesis 4:1. 13:47 Now Adam knew Eve his wife and she conceived and bore Cain and 13:54 said, I have acquired a man from the Lord. 13:58 Mmm. So Adam and Eve had left their garden home and Eve had 14:03 her first baby and his name was Cain. Now she thought that this 14:07 was the promised Messiah that God had spoken to them about in 14:11 the garden of Eden, but was it Jesus? No. It wasn't. He came 14:15 thousands of years later. Okay Ella can you please read 14:19 Genesis 4:2. 14:21 Then she bore again. This time his brother Abel. Now Abel was a 14:25 keeper of sheep but Cain was a tiller of the ground. 14:29 Mmm. So who was Cain. What did he do? 14:32 A tiller of the ground. 14:34 A tiller of the ground and Abel? He was a shepherd, yes. He kept 14:38 the sheep, yes. Okay. Elijah can you please read verses 3-5 of 14:43 Genesis 4, please. 14:45 And in the process of time it came to pass that Cain brought 14:49 an offering of fruit of the ground to the Lord. Abel also 14:53 brought of the firstborn of his flock and of their fat and the 14:56 Lord respected Able and his offering, but He did not respect 15:00 Cain and his offering. And Cain was very angry and his 15:04 countenance fell. 15:06 Mmm. So the boys, I think, are being tested for their obedience 15:10 and faith for God. Where else have we heard about a test? 15:13 Where else did that happen that we've just studied about? 15:16 In the garden of Eden. 15:18 In the garden of Eden, yes. So God has asked them to bring an 15:24 offering and what happened? What did we just read? 15:28 He accepted Abel's offering. 15:32 Yes, that's right. Let's read our Torchlight Auntie Cecily. 15:36 Story of Redemption p. 52. This sacrifice would lead them 15:41 to continually keep in mind their sin and the Redeemer to 15:45 come who was to be the great sacrifice for man. 15:51 Mmm. So by bringing a lamb offering, which God had asked 15:54 them to do, that was to remind them that Jesus was going to 15:58 come to this earth and he was going to die for our sins. But 16:02 what did Cain bring. Fruit. He brought fruit and did God want 16:05 him to bring fruit? No. No, He wanted him to bring a lamb. 16:09 So was Cain obedient? No. He wasn't obedient. He was 16:12 disobedient, that's right. Okay now do you think Cain was angry? 16:17 Yes. Yes he was angry. Okay Kate, can you read 16:20 Genesis 4:6-7 please. 16:22 And the Lord said to Cain, why are you angry and why has your 16:28 countenance fallen. If you do well will you not be accepted? 16:34 And if you do not do well sin lies at your door and it's 16:39 desire is for you but you should rule over it. 16:46 Mmm. Do you know God loves us so much that he gives us every 16:50 chance to repent. We just read in the Bible that God spoke to 16:53 Cain. He even sent an angel to speak to him. Do you know 16:57 that Cain knew what he was doing Adam and Eve had talked to them 17:02 about what happened in the garden of Eden and he knew that 17:05 he had to bring a lamb, not fruit. They knew that Christ was 17:09 going to come in the future to die for their sins and even God 17:13 and the angel came to try and reason with Cain and to change 17:18 his mind. But I don't think that happened. Okay, Luke can you 17:23 please read Genesis 4:8 for us. 17:25 Now Cain talked with Abel his brother and it came to pass when 17:30 they were in the field that Cain rose up against Abel his brother 17:35 and killed him. 17:36 So even Abel tried to reason with Cain, but did Cain want to 17:41 listen? No. No he was cross at his younger brother for being 17:46 obedient. What did that verse just say? Who did Cain kill? 17:50 Abel. Abel his brother, yes, because he didn't want to bring 17:54 the offering that God asked him to bring. Do you think that's a 17:59 bit of the "I" disease that we spoke about with Satan. Yes. 18:02 Satan wanted to do what he wanted to do. And Cain was the 18:06 same wasn't he? He wanted to bring what he wanted to bring, 18:09 not what God wanted him to bring. Okay Sarah, can you read 18:13 for us Genesis 4:9-10. 18:15 Then the Lord said to Cain, where is Able your brother? 18:19 He said, I do not know. Am I my brother's keeper. And He said 18:24 What have you done. The voice of your brother's blood cries 18:29 out to me from the ground. 18:30 Mmm. So God knew what Cain had done. Can we hide anything from 18:35 God? No. No, we can't. And God gave Cain every opportunity to 18:40 confess his sin and to reflect on what he'd done. But sadly 18:45 he didn't. Auntie Cecily can you please read Genesis 4:11-12. 18:50 So now you are cursed from the earth which has opened it's 18:55 mouth to receive your brother's blood from your hand. When you 19:00 till the ground it shall no longer yield it's strength to 19:05 you. A fugitive and a vagabond you shall be on the earth. 19:10 Mmm. So God placed a curse on Cain but in His mercy, God's so 19:15 merciful. He didn't allow anyone to kill Cain because you know 19:20 what? God still wanted him to repent. But the earth would no 19:24 longer provide as many blessings to him as before. He would 19:29 always be a vagabond or a harmless wonderer. He would 19:32 always wander the earth. Do you think it's a blessing to be 19:35 obedient? Yeah. I think it is. God wants us to do what he wants 19:39 us to do, not what we want to do. It's important that we do 19:43 what God wants us to do. There's a promise in the Bible and let's 19:48 all turn to that and read that together. It's found in Jeremiah 19:53 7:23. And we'll turn to that and read that together. This is 19:58 important for us to know. You ready. But this thing I 20:05 commanded them saying, Obey My voice and I will be your God and 20:10 you shall be my people and walk in all the way that I have 20:15 commanded you that it may be well with you. 20:20 Wow! So God says if we obey Him He'll be with us and everything 20:26 will go well. That's a great promise isn't it. Thank you boys 20:30 and girls for sharing your time with us in reading the Bible. 20:34 Ask God today to help you be obedient and do the will of God, 20:38 not doing only what you want to do. God wants us to be happy 20:42 and he knows what is best for us. Next Sabbath we are going to 20:46 study about what happened to our earth because of sin and we will 20:50 study about a very faithful, obedient man. Can you guess who 20:54 that was? Have a look in your Bible. 20:58 When you choose to keep the Sabbath it can be a great 21:02 on our lives. Every time we read our Bibles we can be blessed and 21:06 God can open new truths to us. We want to encourage you to read 21:11 your Bibles not only on the Sabbath day but every day. 21:15 Auntie Nat would you tell us about the devotional that 21:18 relates to our study today. 21:20 Yes, I'd love to. We have a seven day devotional study 21:25 available on Cain and Abel. We studied that together today. 21:30 This expands on what we have learned. You can download it 21:34 and print if free from our website which is 21:36 www.adaywiththeking.com. This will help you to read your Bible 21:40 every day and spend time getting to know God. Auntie Cecily will 21:44 you go over our memory verse now that we had today. 21:46 Let's do it. Are you ready to say it all together. Jeremiah 21:50 7:23 But this is what I commanded them saying 21:55 Obey my voice and I will be your God and you shall be my people 22:01 walk in all the ways that I have commanded you that it might be 22:07 well with you. 22:08 Auntie Nat are you ready to sing our blessing song to the 22:10 children. Yes let's do that. 22:12 ¤May God bless you and keep you and fill your heart with love¤ 22:26 ¤May God guide and protect you and watch you from above¤ 22:36 ¤And Sabbath after Sabbath we greet the day of rest¤ 22:46 ¤The day the King of Glory Has sanctified and blessed¤ 22:57 ¤Good bye my friend till we meet again¤ 23:03 ¤For another day with the King¤ 23:09 Bye see you next Sabbath. 23:12 ¤ ¤ |
