00:01 Hello there, Happy Sabbath. Come on in. We're about to meet
00:06 with the King. 00:07 ¤ ¤ 00:53 Hello, I'm Auntie Nat. It's great that you could all join 00:57 us to meet with the King. We're 00:59 about to open the Sabbath. Come 01:00 and join our worship time together. Hello Auntie Cecily, 01:03 it's wonderful you could be here with us. 01:06 Hello Auntie Nat. 01:07 Hello children. It's great that you're here as well to help meet 01:10 the King and worship the King. Hello Teddy. It's lovely that 01:14 you're here with us too. Auntie Cecily, could you please say a 01:18 prayer for us to open our worship time. 01:22 Dear Father, thank you for keeping us safe through the 01:24 past week. And thank you for your Sabbath day and thank you 01:28 for the children who have been able to join us. 01:31 In Jesus' name Amen. 01:33 Amen. Do you know that this is a great time to reflect on our 01:37 week and count the many blessings that we have received. 01:39 Sarah you have a blessing for us. 01:41 We were traveling and we stopped because we saw a horse and we 01:46 got out to pet it. And I got out and started petting it and then 01:50 it turned around and bit my stomach. And luckily dad was 01:54 there so he could protect me and make sure I was safe. 01:57 That's great Sarah. Thanks for sharing that with us. Auntie 02:00 Cecily, you have a blessing to share with us as well; something 02:02 about the Sabbath. 02:04 Yes. We'll find out later in our Bible study how Joseph who had 02:09 the prophetic gift from God interprets dreams. John was one 02:15 of Jesus' disciples and he had a special dream. John had a vision 02:21 from Jesus on the Sabbath day or as Revelation 1:10 tells us on 02:27 the Lord's day. Jesus had a very special message for John to send 02:33 out to the churches. When we come together at church, Jesus 02:37 has a special message for us. It could be in our Sabbath School 02:42 class or when we sit at church with our moms and dads and 02:47 listen to the preacher's sermon. Jesus wants us to share the 02:52 teachings of the Bible with others just like he asked John 02:55 to do. Jesus wants us to tell the people around us how much 03:01 He loves them and wants them in His kingdom. Jesus wants us to tell 03:06 people how special it is to spend a day with the King. 03:10 Mmm. Isn't that great. Thanks Auntie Cecily. Do you know 03:15 another way that we can worship God on Sabbath is through song 03:18 and we have Pastor Rick here. Thanks Pastor Rick. 03:21 Hello boys and girls. What if we 03:24 sing When He Cometh? 04:26 Pastor Rick, can we please sing I've Been Redeemed? 04:30 Yes! 05:16 Pastor Rick can we sing Jesus, Name Above All Names? 05:21 Let's give it a go. 06:22 Thanks Pastor Rick. It's great to praise God in song. Liam, we 06:27 discovered a blessing at Sunnyside this week. Will we 06:29 share that with the children at home. Yes. Good. Let's go 06:32 have a look at that. 06:35 Hello boys and girls. My name is Dr. John Hammond. Welcome to 06:41 the Australian home of Mrs. Ellen White. Come with me. I've 06:47 got some stories to tell you. 06:52 Thank you for sharing yet another story about Ellen. 06:58 You know, way back at the beginning of these stories I 07:05 told the other story of Ellen's accident. She had an accident 07:10 because Satan hated her so much. Of all the people who were 07:15 living 100 years ago, Satan probably hated Ellen more than 07:20 anybody else in the whole world. Why? Because she preached and 07:26 wrote about Jesus. And just to remind you, a girl 13 years old 07:32 that'd be about a big a rock as you could pick up and throw at 07:37 somebody hard that got her right in the face, smashed her nose, 07:42 smashed her cheek, smashed her mouth, so much so that her 07:47 father didn't recognize her. And she was so weak. And God chose 07:52 the weakest of the weak and she grew up. You know, as she wrote 07:57 all these books and God gave her these visions and dreams, He 08:01 showed her what the world was like before people lived here. 08:07 and she even heard what Satan's voice sounded like when he was 08:13 Lucifer. When he was Lucifer, he was the chief of all the angels 08:18 and she says his voice was like the purest of pure water 08:24 tinkling over silver rocks onto pure gold. His voice was so pure 08:29 he sang beautifully and when the other angels heard him speak 08:34 they were so thrilled. Then she says when he became Satan, when 08:40 he became so evil, his voice sounded like the shrieking of 08:46 owls, the yelling of bats, the hissing of snakes and the roar 08:52 of a forest fire. His voice was so horrible and she said it had 08:57 so much hatred. But you know even though she was working for 09:02 God, she still had to suffer. We live in a sinful world. 09:06 Her teeth always gave her problems and before she came 09:10 to Australia, when she was in New Zealand, the Dr. Carrow said 09:13 Ellen I'm going to have to take out the rest of your teeth. 09:18 Now when I go to a dentist, I know I'm not going to be in any 09:23 pain because the dentists use the finest needles and the most 09:27 modern equipment. But then they had no needles. She had to sit 09:32 in a chair and they pulled out, she only had eight teeth left. 09:38 No anesthetic. They pulled them right out. Ellen was just 09:41 shaking like that at the end. It took two hours. And so they 09:44 made something for her because without your teeth you can't 09:49 talk. And here's what she had. You don't see false teeth much 09:55 these days. These belonged to a lady who's no longer using 10:02 them. But they made a set for Ellen. Lowers and uppers. And 10:08 you know Ellen wasn't a perfect person. She was short, she was a 10:13 little bit fat, she couldn't spell, she used to get tired, 10:18 but she had a heart that was dedicated to Jesus. And you know 10:22 she did something one night that caused a lot of laughter. It was 10:28 a very, very cold night and she left her teeth in a glass on the 10:33 window ledge and it was so cold that the frost came through and 10:40 when she got up in the morning she could not put her teeth in 10:47 because they were frozen solid so she had to go like this 10:51 (unintelligible talking like a person without teeth) and they 10:55 had to get her teeth and put them in hot water and I think 10:59 that even Ellen's angels would have laughed that night. But 11:05 Ellen's angels were with her, we know that on many occasions she was 11:10 so tired. I read a page where she was writing and then she put 11:15 in brackets (fell asleep). But she wrote this beautiful book. 11:21 When I was 16 I read the Desire of Ages and that's what made me 11:26 want to work for Jesus because of the beautiful writing in that 11:32 book. She was not perfect, but she loved Jesus and Jesus can 11:38 take an imperfect person, a weak person, a person with a smashed 11:42 face, a person whose hand would shake, a person who had to write 11:48 with a biro, with a pen that couldn't hold still and God used 11:52 her. And that is why we love the work of Ellen White. 11:56 Thank you. 11:59 Hi boys and girls. Happy Sabbath Welcome to our Bible study. 12:03 Have you got your Bibles ready? I hope you have because then you 12:06 can read along with us. Auntie Cecily can you please pray 12:10 before we open the word. 12:11 Dear heavenly Father we thank you for the privilege of having 12:15 Bibles to read and learn about you and we pray that you would 12:20 guide us in understanding as we read the story today. 12:23 For Jesus sake, Amen. 12:25 Amen. Now Elijah do you remember what happened last Sabbath? 12:29 Who did we study about? Joseph. Joseph and what happened to 12:32 Joseph? 12:33 His brothers sold him into slavery. 12:35 Yeah, they did, didn't they. Let's see what happened to 12:38 Joseph and how God turned something bad into something 12:41 good. Okay, now Liam, you're going to read our first Bible 12:44 verse. Can you turn to Genesis 39:1 please. 12:49 Now Joseph had been taken down to Egypt and Potiphar, an 12:55 officer of Pharaoh, Captain of the Guard, an Egyptian, bought 13:02 him from the Ishmaelite's who had taken him down there. 13:06 Mmm. Do you think Joseph was a bit scared? Yeah. He probably 13:09 was. He was only about 17 years old and he would have been very 13:12 upset that he was taken away from his father and family. 13:14 But remember we learnt last week that Joseph loved to obey God 13:21 didn't he? Joseph loved to listen to how God had taken 13:24 care of Jacob and he remembered all these. Now Kate, can you 13:28 please read from our Torch Light Mrs. White's writings and Kate 13:32 let's see what she says about this. 13:39 Now all these precious lessons 13:42 came visibly before him. Joseph believed that the God of his 13:49 fathers would be his God and he then and there gave himself 13:55 fully to the Lord and he prayed that the keeper of Israel would 14:00 be with him in the land of his exile. 14:04 Wow, so Joseph prayed and gave himself fully to God and asked 14:08 Him to protect him in Egypt. Nick you're going to read our 14:11 next verse for us. Genesis 39:2-4. 14:15 The Lord was with Joseph and he was a successful man. He was in 14:20 the house of his master the Egyptian and his master saw that 14:26 the Lord was with and the Lord made all he did to prosper in 14:32 his hands. So Joseph found favor in his sight and served him. 14:36 Then he made him overseer of the house and all that he had 14:40 under his authority. 14:41 Wow, did God bless Joseph? Yes. He did. You know what, Joseph 14:45 chose not to worship the idols in Egypt. He chose to worship 14:49 the one true God. We read in verse 3 that Potiphar saw the 14:53 Lord was with him. Do you know what? I think God's light was 14:57 shining through him. Is it important to let our light 15:00 shine? Yes. Let's read together our memory verse Genesis 39:3 15:05 Can we read that together? Let's read it again. 15:08 And his master saw that the Lord was with him and that the 15:13 Lord made all he did to prosper in his hand. 15:18 But something happened that landed Joseph in jail after 10 15:22 faithful years of his service to Potiphar. Potiphar's wife 15:25 accused Joseph falsely of attacking her. Do you think 15:28 Joseph would have attacked someone. No. No, I don't think 15:32 so. Elijah can you please read Genesis 39:20-23 for us? 15:36 Then Joseph's master took him and put him into the prison, a 15:40 place where the king's prisoners were confined and he was there 15:45 in the prison. But the Lord was with Joseph and showed him mercy 15:49 and he gave him favor in the sight of the keeper of the 15:52 prison and the keeper of the prison committed to Joseph's 15:55 hand all the prisoners who were in the prison. Whatever they did 16:00 there it was his doing. The keeper of the prison did not 16:03 look into anything that was under Joseph's authority because 16:07 the Lord was with him. And whatever he did the Lord made it 16:10 prosper. 16:12 So God blessed Joseph again. Even the prison warden put him 16:15 in charge of the prisoners. Do you think Joseph's light was 16:18 shining for Jesus? Yeah. I think so. Kate can you read 16:21 Genesis 40:2-8 please. 16:23 And Pharaoh was angry with his two officers, the chief butler 16:29 and the chief baker. So he put them in custody in the house of 16:35 the captain of the guard in the prison, the place where Joseph 16:40 was confined. And the captain of the guard charged Joseph with 16:45 them and he served them. So they were in custody for a while. 16:49 Then the butler and the baker of the king of Egypt who were 16:54 confined in the prison had a dream. Both of them each man 16:58 dreamed in one night and each man's dream was with its own 17:03 interpretation. And Joseph came in to them in the morning and 17:08 looked at them and so they were sad. So he asked Pharaoh's 17:13 officers who were with him in the custody of his lord's house 17:18 saying why do you look so sad today? And they said to him we 17:23 each had a dream and there is no interpreter of it. So Joseph 17:27 said to them, Do not interpretations belong 17:30 to God? Tell them to me please. 17:33 Mmm. So the butler and the baker of the Pharaoh somehow offended 17:37 him and he threw them into jail and they were under the care of 17:41 Joseph. And they had some dreams Now Joseph, as we just read, 17:45 acknowledges God, that God's the interpreter of dreams and if we 17:49 were to read on it says that Joseph did interpret them and 17:53 they came true. The butler gets released in three days, but the 17:57 baker dies in three days by hanging. But when the butler 18:02 went back to the palace, Joseph asked him to remember him, 18:05 because he was innocent wasn't he? He shouldn't have been in 18:09 jail. But you know what? The butler forgot him and Joseph was 18:14 in the jail for another two years. Goodness me. Let's see 18:18 what happens next. Auntie Cecily can you read Genesis 41:1-8 18:23 please. 18:24 Then it came to pass that at the end of two full years that 18:29 Pharaoh had a dream and behold he stood by the river. Suddenly 18:34 there came up out of the river seven cows, fine looking and fat 18:40 and they fed in the meadow. Then behold seven other cows came up 18:45 after them out of the river, ugly and gaunt, and stood by the 18:50 other cows on the bank of the river. And the ugly and gaunt 18:55 cows ate up the seven fine looking and fat cows. So 18:59 Pharaoh awoke. He slept and dreamed a second time and 19:04 suddenly seven heads of grain came up on one stalk, plump and 19:10 good. Then behold seven thin heads blighted by the east wind 19:15 sprang up after them and the seven thin heads devoured the 19:21 seven plump and full heads. So Pharaoh awoke and indeed it was 19:27 a dream. Now it came to pass in the morning that his spirit was 19:31 troubled and he sent and called for all the magicians of Egypt 19:37 and all its wise men and Pharaoh told them his dreams but there 19:42 was no one who could interpret them for Pharaoh. 19:48 So the butler all of a sudden what do you think he does? 19:51 Did he remember Joseph? It took two years, but he remembered 19:54 Joseph and he goes to Pharaoh and tells him about it. Let's 19:58 read that Ella on Genesis 41:14-16 20:01 Then Pharaoh sent and called Joseph and brought him quickly 20:06 out of the dungeon, and he shaved, changed his clothing and 20:11 came to Pharaoh and Pharaoh said to Joseph I have had a dream but 20:15 there is no one who can interpret it. But I have heard 20:20 it said that you can understand a dream to interpret it. 20:26 So Joseph answered Pharaoh saying, it is not me. God will 20:31 give Pharaoh an answer of peace. 20:34 Mmm. But Joseph again gives all the credit to God for the 20:39 interpretation of the dream and if we were to continue reading, 20:42 the Bible tells us that Pharaoh tells the dream to Joseph and 20:46 then Joseph says that through God He revealed to him that 20:51 there'll be seven years of great plenty and seven years of great 20:54 famine. Sarah you're going to read for us Genesis 41:33-36 20:59 please. 21:01 Now therefore let Pharaoh select an understanding and wise man 21:05 and set him over the land of Egypt. Let Pharaoh do this and 21:09 let him appoint officers over the land to collect one-fifth 21:13 of the produce of land of Egypt in the seven plentiful years and 21:17 let them gather all the food of those good years that are coming 21:21 and store up grain under the authority of Pharaoh and let 21:25 them keep food in the cities. Then that food shall be as a 21:28 reserve for the land for the seven years of famine which 21:32 shall be in the land of Egypt that the land may not perish 21:35 during the famine. 21:38 So who Pharaoh chose to do this job. Joseph. That Spirit of God 21:43 was shining through him and even the Pharaoh of Egypt could see 21:48 it. Did God turn something bad into something good? Yes. 21:51 He did. Thank you boys and girls for joining us today in reading 21:56 the Bible. It was great to have you along with us. You can 22:00 worship the one and only true God like Joseph did and refuse 22:03 to worship the things that are in your life. God blessed Joseph 22:07 because of this and used him in a mighty way. God can do that 22:11 for you too. Next Sabbath we are going to study how through God 22:15 Joseph not only saved the Egyptian race from starvation 22:20 but also saved his own family from starving in a famine. 22:25 When we keep the Sabbath day like God asks us to, we're 22:30 saying that God is our King. Joseph also made a stand and 22:35 chose God to be his king. Reading our Bibles helps us 22:40 to make the right choices in life and to know who we should 22:45 serve. Sabbath is a great time to spend reading your Bibles. 22:50 But God also wants us to read our Bibles every day. Auntie Nat 22:54 can you tell us about the devotional that relates to our 22:57 study today. 22:58 Sure. We have a seven day devotional study available on 23:03 Joseph in Egypt, the subject we just studied together today. 23:07 this devotional expands on what we learnt. You can download and 23:10 print it free from the website www.adaywiththeking.com. 23:14 This will help you to read your Bible every day and to spend 23:18 time getting to know God. Auntie Cecily, will we say our memory 23:22 verse together. 23:23 Yes. Children you ready to say it all together? 23:25 Genesis 39:3- And his master saw that the Lord was with him 23:31 and that the Lord made all he did to prosper in his hand. 23:36 Auntie Nat you ready to sing our blessing song to the children? 23:39 Yes, let's do that. 23:41 ¤May God bless you and keep you, and fill your heart with love¤ 23:56 ¤May God guide and protect you and watch you from above¤ 24:07 ¤And Sabbath after Sabbath we greet the day of rest¤ 24:17 ¤The day the king of glory has sanctified and blessed¤ 24:27 ¤Good bye my friend till we meet again¤ 24:32 ¤On another day with the king¤ 24:38 Good bye, good bye, see you next Sabbath. 24:42 ¤ ¤ |
