00:01 Hi there, Happy Sabbath.
00:03 Come on in. We're about to meet with the King. 00:06 ¤ ¤ 00:51 Hello, I'm Auntie Cecily. It's so good that you could join us 00:56 to meet with the King. We're about to open the Sabbath. 00:59 Come and join in our worship time together. Hello Auntie Nat, 01:03 it's so good to have you with us here. 01:06 It's great to be here. And Hello children. We're glad you could 01:09 be with us too to help us to welcome the King. Hello Teddy, 01:14 It's so good to have you with us as well. Auntie Nat, can you 01:18 please say a prayer to ask God to be with us? 01:21 Yes, I'd love to. Dear heavenly Father, we thank and praise your 01:25 name for the Sabbath and we just thank you for keeping us safe 01:29 during this week. We ask Lord you'll be with the children here 01:32 and the children who are watching at home. And we just 01:35 ask this in Jesus' name, Amen. 01:37 Do you know that this is a great time to reflect on our week and 01:42 just count the blessings that God has sent us. Elijah, is 01:46 there something that's happened to you during the week that you 01:49 can thank God for? 01:50 Yeah, my parents, they went to Queensland and that left us with 01:54 our grandparents. Then one night they called us, it was my mom, 01:59 and she said that my dad's IPad they had lost it. So she 02:04 asked us at home to pray for them to help them find it. So 02:10 then we prayed to help the IPad get found on five minutes later 02:13 they rang again to say that they'd found it. 02:17 Isn't God generous Thank you for sharing that with us. And Auntie 02:21 Cecily you have a blessing to share with us as well. 02:24 Yes I do. Remember last Sabbath we spoke about how God is our 02:28 Deliverer. Well I want to share with you how God is also holy. 02:33 Later on in our Bible study we're going to learn about the 02:37 time when Moses came into the presence of God and how he had 02:41 to remove his shoes because where God physically is, is holy 02:45 ground. Then Bible tells us that in heaven, angels surround the 02:50 throne of God, not resting day or night, saying holy, holy, 02:55 holy is the Lord God almighty. And when Isaiah saw that in 03:00 vision he just trembled physically and he was quite 03:05 shaken by the experience. But we know that we can now approach 03:10 God's throne through the intercession of Jesus because 03:14 Jesus died for our sins and through Him we can bring all our 03:18 requests to God. In Hebrews and in 1 Timothy we read that Jesus 03:23 stands between us and the holiness of God. That's why when 03:29 we finish our prayers we say in Jesus' name. But remember 03:35 Jesus said When you've seen Me you've seen the Father. So we're 03:41 not to be afraid of God. So then God's holiness is beauty 03:45 and Psalm 29 tells us that we are to worship God in the beauty 03:49 of holiness. So do you think you can remember that God is a 03:54 holy God. 03:57 Amen. Auntie Cecily, thanks for sharing that with us. God is so 04:00 good. Do you know, another way that we can worship God on the 04:03 Sabbath is through singing. Thanks Pastor Rick. 04:07 Thanks Auntie Nat. Welcome 04:10 children. What if we sing that 04:12 song Anywhere With Jesus? 05:11 Let's repeat it. 05:42 Pastor Rick can we please sing the books of the Bible? 05:45 Do you think you can remember them all? 05:48 Yes. Let's give it a try. 07:07 Pastor Rick can we please sing I Have Decided to Follow Jesus 07:12 We certainly can. 08:02 Thanks Pastor Rick. It's so good to just praise God in song. 08:08 You know Dr. John also had a blessing to share with us. 08:11 Let's go and have a look at that. 08:13 Hello boys and girls. My name is Dr. John Hammond and we're 08:18 at Sunnyside and we're about to leave and to do some 08:22 exploring and we're going to find something that's very, very 08:26 interesting. Just come with me and we'll go looking. 08:36 I want to tell you the story about this pulpit here and this 08:41 church. Many years ago, about 1896 when they built the first 08:44 building everybody went to church over there in the village 08:49 in a hotel. Now, a hotel is not the best place to go to church. 08:54 Very hot in summer, cold in winter. And then they decided 08:59 to build a church on the highest piece of land in Courenbong, 09:03 right where we're standing. I've even got a photo of the church 09:08 and it took them two months to build that church. A fine church 09:14 When they brought all the pews up, they also had to make a 09:18 pulpit and this is a very special pulpit and it stood here 09:25 for many, many years. Now Ellen White used to preach from this 09:31 desk. She had a problem. You come around here. Now, not 09:38 everybody could see her because she was just a tiny lady. You 09:45 made allowances for tall people, tall people, very tall people 09:50 but they had to make something for Ellen. And this is what it 09:55 was. This is a low footstool. It's been a little bit worn out 10:02 over the years. If I put that down here. Hah, can you see 10:07 Ellen now? Do you feel comfortable? Would you like to 10:12 preach a sermon or sing a song? Ellen White was a tiny little 10:17 person and she spoke to the people in this church for years 10:23 and years and she had a good voice for a tiny little 10:27 lady and her voice would carry right up. They could hear her 10:31 outside. They could hear her right across the road. She had 10:35 such a beautiful voice. But one day this little old church that 10:39 we saw in the picture started to get a bit old. The termites were 10:43 around and the timbers were getting a bit rotted, so they 10:48 decided to build a new church. But they wanted to do something. 10:53 They decided that the pulpit, the new pulpit, the big one had 10:57 to be in exactly the same spot that the old one was and so they 11:03 marked it out and then they got to and they built the new church 11:09 see the frame and we're standing inside the church and here it 11:15 was the church after all those years and then when they had the 11:20 roof up, they got to and they pulled down the old church and 11:25 they didn't know what to do with this and so they took this 11:29 away and they thought this is too historic, we can't get rid 11:33 of it and so they took it to Sunnyside. And you know what? 11:39 This is the first time in over 40 years that this pulpit has 11:45 come back to its original spot. You know, I would love to stand 11:52 and speak from this pulpit. I've spoken from that pulpit 11:56 many times but this one is extra special. And I think of the 12:00 sermons that Mrs. White must have preached from here 12:04 and it was just at the back of the church where she used to 12:08 meet the little boys and girls at the church. Every Sabbath she 12:11 knew the name of every one of them. She was a great preacher 12:15 and she loved boys and girls and fortunately they put up a foot 12:21 stool so she could be seen over the pulpit. And they put a nice 12:26 cushion there for her Bible and special timber and this stood 12:30 here for all those years. And that is the only part now left 12:34 of the original church. Everything else is gone except 12:39 the pulpit. Listen, can you hear the echo. I can almost imagine 12:45 echoes of Ellen preaching from this very spot, not in the same 12:50 building but from this very pulpit. Isn't that fascinating? 12:54 Thank you. 12:57 Hi boys and girls. Happy Sabbath Welcome to our Bible study. 13:00 If you haven't got your Bibles ready yet go get them so you can 13:03 follow along with us. Sarah you're going to say a prayer for 13:05 today. Would you like to say a prayer to open our study? 13:08 Thank you. 13:09 Dear God, thank you for our Bibles. Thank you that we are 13:13 here studying the Your word Help the children to understand what 13:15 they read. In Jesus' name, Amen. 13:17 Amen. So Sarah do you remember what we studied about last 13:22 Sabbath? 13:23 Yes. Pharaoh's daughter found Moses in the river and sent him 13:26 back to his mother to nursed, and he grew up in the palace 13:30 But something happened. What happened? 13:31 He killed an Egyptian 13:33 He killed and Egyptian and did he... 13:34 And he had to flee from Egypt. 13:36 He had to flee for his life for his life didn't he? And he had 13:39 to live in the land of Midian where he lived for 40 years. 13:43 That's a big change isn't it, from the palace to being a 13:47 shepherd and God worked on his heart during that time. And Anna 13:51 you're going to start our reading off today. We're in 13:56 Exodus 2 and I want you to read verses 23-25. Anna, thanks. 14:00 Now it happened in the process of time that the king of Egypt 14:04 died. Then the children of Israel groaned because of their 14:08 bondage and they cried out. And their cry came up to God 14:12 because of the bondage. So God heard their groaning and God 14:16 remembered His covenant with Abraham, with Isaac and with 14:21 Jacob. And God looked upon the children of Israel and God 14:25 acknowledged them. 14:27 Mmm. So the Israelites are still in slavery since Moses had fled 14:31 from Egypt and they're still crying out for help. And God 14:35 heard their cry. Dean, you're going to read our next reading, 14:40 Exodus 3:1-6. Can you do that for us? 14:43 Now Moses was tending the flock of Jethro, his father-in-law, 14:47 the priest of Midian. And he led the flock to the back of the 14:52 desert and came to Horeb the mountain of God. And the Angel 14:57 of the Lord appeared to him in a flame of fire in the midst of a 15:02 bush. So he looked and behold the bush was burning of fire but 15:08 the bush was not consumed. Then Moses said, I will now turn 15:13 aside and see this great sight, why the bush does not burn. So 15:18 when the Lord saw that he turned aside to look, God called to him 15:22 from the midst of the bush and said, Moses, Moses, and he said 15:27 Here I am. Then he said do not draw near this place. Take your 15:32 sandals off your feet for the place where you stand is 15:35 holy ground. Moreover He said I am the God of your father, the 15:41 God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob. 15:45 And Moses hid his face; for he was afraid to look upon God. 15:49 Thanks Dean So Moses was looking after the sheep comes across a 15:54 burning bush. It was burning with fire but it wasn't burning 15:58 up. The Bible says it was a great sight meaning it must have 16:02 looked pretty awesome and amazing. Moses had to have a 16:06 closer look. God speaks to Moses and tells him he must take off 16:10 his sandals because it's holy ground. Let's have a look at our 16:14 Torch Light, Mrs. White's writings to see what they shine 16:18 on this verse. Now Elijah, you're going to read that for us 16:21 again from the bottom of our Bible, of our Remnant Young 16:24 Scholar Study Bible. Can you read that please for us. 16:28 Humility and reverence should characterize the deportment of 16:33 all who come into the presence 16:35 of God. In the name of Jesus we 16:36 may come before him with confidence but we must not 16:39 approach Him with the boldness of presumption as though he were 16:44 on a level with ourselves. 16:46 Mmm. So God had asked Moses to approach Him in a certain way 16:51 to show reverence him. And Moses obeyed and took the 16:54 sandals off his feet and bowed down. Okay, let's see what God 16:59 God says to Moses. Kate, can you please read for us Exodus 3:7-8 17:04 and 10 please. 17:06 And the Lord said, I have surely seen the oppression of my people 17:12 who are in Egypt and have heard their cry because of their task 17:17 masters, for I know their sorrows. So I have come down 17:21 to deliver them from the hand of the Egyptians and bring out 17:26 from that land to a good large land to a land flowing with milk 17:30 and honey, to the place of the Canaanites, the Hittites, the 17:34 Amorites and the Perizzites and the Hivites and the 17:40 Jebusites. Come now therefore and I will send you to Pharaoh 17:44 that you may bring my people the children of Israel out of 17:49 Egypt. 17:50 Mmm. So God has asked Moses to go down to Egypt and with God's 17:54 help bring the Israelites out of Egypt. But Moses was very 17:58 overwhelmed with God had commanded him to do. Let's look 18:02 what else God says to him. Ben can you please read Exodus 3:13. 18:07 Then Moses said to God, Indeed when I come to the children of 18:11 Israel and say to them the God of your fathers has sent me to 18:14 you and they say to me What is His name, what shall I say to 18:18 them. 18:20 Okay, now we're going to read Exodus 3:14 together. This is 18:23 our memory verse. Let's read that together. 18:25 And God said to Moses, I Am Who I Am. And he said what ye shall 18:33 say to the children of Israel I Am has sent me to you. 18:40 Wow! So God was very specific what God wanted Moses to tell 18:44 the children of Israel. Now Sarah, we're going to see what 18:49 else Moses asks of God. Can you please read Exodus 4:1-4. 18:54 Then Moses answered and said, But suppose they will not 18:58 believe me of listen to my voice Suppose they say, the Lord has 19:02 not appeared to you. The Lord said to him, What is that in 19:07 your hand? He said, A rod. And He said, Cast it on the ground. 19:11 So he cast it on the ground and it became a serpent and Moses 19:15 fled from it. Then the Lord said to Moses, Reach out your hand 19:19 and take it by the tail. And he reached out his hand and caught 19:22 it and it became a rod in his hand. 19:25 Mmm. So one of the signs is that Moses' rod changed into a snake 19:29 when it was thrown down onto the ground. And when he picked 19:32 it up from the tail it turns back into a rod again. Aunt 19:36 Cecily can you please read Exodus 4:6-9. 19:42 Furthermore the Lord said to him Now put your hand in your bosom 19:47 and he put his hand in his bosom and when he took it out behold 19:52 his hand was leprous like snow. And he said put your hand in 19:58 your bosom again. So he put his hand in his bosom again and drew 20:03 it out of his bosom and behold it was restored like his other 20:08 flesh. Then it will be if they do not believe you nor heed the 20:13 message of the first sign that they may believe the message of 20:18 the latter sign. And it shall be if they do not believe even 20:23 these two signs or listen to your voice that you shall take 20:28 water from the river and pour it on the dry land. The water that 20:34 you take from the river will become blood on the dry land. 20:39 Mmm. So God shows Moses two more signs he can use; the leprous 20:43 hand and the water that turned into blood. God is taking care 20:47 of Moses and equipping him for the job ahead. And even though 20:51 God does Moses' wonderful signs Moses is still overwhelmed at 20:55 the huge job ahead of him and he says something else to God. 20:59 Let's read that Anna in Exodus 4:10 and 12-14. 21:04 But Moses said to the Lord, Oh my Lord, I am not eloquent, 21:08 neither before nor since you have spoken to your servant, 21:14 but I and slow of speech and slow of tongue... Now therefore 21:18 go and I will be with your mouth and teach you what you shall 21:24 say. But he said, O my Lord, send by the hand of whomever 21:30 else you may send. So the anger of the Lord was kindled against 21:36 Moses and he said, Is not Aaron the Levite the Levite your 21:40 brother. I know that he can speak well and look he is also 21:45 coming out to meet you. When he sees you, he will be glad in 21:49 his heart. 21:50 Wow! So God provided again and he was going to send Aaron, 21:53 Moses' brother to help him. Moses had not lived in Egypt for 21:57 how many years? Forty. Forty years. So he was worried that he 22:01 was not able to speak the Egyptian language well enough. 22:05 So if we were to continue reading, God does send Aaron out 22:09 to meet with Moses and I think there was a very happy reunion. 22:12 Do you think? He hadn't seen his brother for 40 years. Moses told 22:16 everything to Aaron that God told him and they went together 22:20 to Egypt and assembled the elders of the Israelites to show 22:23 show them the signs, to tell them what God had spoken to 22:27 Moses. The Israelites believed them and bowed down and 22:30 worshipped God. Now Dean, we're going to see what happens next. 22:36 Can you please read our next bit of reading: Exodus 5:1-2, and 22:41 4-5 please. 22:42 Afterward Moses and Aaron went in and told Pharaoh, Thus says 22:46 the Lord God of Israel, Let my people go that they may hold a 22:53 feast to me in the wilderness. And Pharaoh said, Who is the 22:58 Lord that I should obey his voice and let Israel go. I do 23:02 not know the Lord nor will I let Israel go... Then the king of 23:07 king of Egypt said to them, Moses and Aaron, Why do you take 23:12 the people from their work. Get back to your labor and Pharaoh 23:16 said, Look the people of the land are many now and you make 23:20 them rest from their labor. 23:22 Thank you Gene. So Moses and Aaron had their first encounter 23:26 with the Pharaoh. Did the Pharaoh want to let the people 23:30 go? No. No, he was going to lose his entire work force. 23:34 But Pharaoh said something interesting, thus far, he says 23:38 you make them rest from their labor. While the Israelites had 23:42 been in Egypt all those 100s of years they had strayed away from 23:46 God and forgotten His requirements. Keeping the 23:49 Sabbath had been difficult while they were in slavery, but Moses 23:52 was teaching the people that they had to start keeping the 23:56 Sabbath again no matter what. Let's see what happens next when 23:59 Moses and Aaron go back to Pharaoh. Ben can you please read 24:02 for Exodus 7:10-15 for us. 24:06 So Moses and Aaron went in to Pharaoh and they did so just as 24:11 the Lord commanded and Aaron cast down his rod before Pharaoh 24:17 and before his servants and it became a serpent. But Pharaoh 24:21 also called the wise men and the sorcerers; so the magicians of 24:26 Egypt also did in like manner with their enchantments for 24:31 every man threw down his rod and they became serpents but Aaron's 24:36 rod; but Aaron's rod swallowed up all their rods. And Pharaoh's 24:39 heart grew hard and he did not heed them as the Lord had said. 24:43 So Moses and Aaron show Pharaoh the sign of the rod turning 24:46 into the snake. But Pharaoh wasn't too impressed and sends 24:49 for his wise men and magicians and they threw down their rods 24:53 and what happened to their rods? (Indistinguishable answers) 24:56 Yeah they did didn't they? But God's rod swallowed up their 25:00 counterfeit rods. Who was the counterfeit? Satan. God has 25:04 shown Pharaoh that He is more powerful than his magicians and 25:08 and his gods. Thank you boys and girls for joining us. Remember 25:12 that God loves you very much. He will deliver you from any 25:16 trials and problems you are having. You can trust His word. 25:20 We have a seven-day devotional available that goes into further 25:23 detail on what we have learned today. Here's the detail on how 25:26 you can get that. 25:28 Hi boys and girls. Like Auntie Nat said you can go onto our 25:31 website to access our daily devotional at 25:34 www.adaywiththeking.com and while you are there you can also 25:39 check out Teddy's blog. He's posted some really cool photos 25:42 of us making the show. He also talks about it as well. 25:45 He even posted about his visit to the vet. So hop online today. 25:52 The Sabbath's an opportunity for us to spend time getting to 25:56 know our Lord and Savior. One way we get to know him is to 26:00 read our Bibles. Our Bibles tell us how much God loves us. We 26:04 want to encourage you to read your Bibles not only on the 26:08 Sabbath day but every day. Auntie Nat can you tell us about 26:12 what we're going to study with the children next Sabbath? 26:17 Yes. Next Sabbath we're going to study in our Bibles what God 26:21 did to save the then-known world who was the true and 26:25 living God. It's one not to miss. Auntie Cecily shall we 26:29 go over our memory verse with the children? 26:31 Yes. Are you ready to do that? Let's have a look. 26:34 Exodus 3:14- And God said to Moses, I Am Who I Am and He said 26:42 Thus you shall say to the children of Israel, I Am has 26:48 sent me to you. 26:50 Children are you ready to sing our blessing song? Let's turn 26:55 around and do that. 26:59 ¤May God bless you and keep you And fill your heart with love¤ 27:12 ¤May God guide and protect you and watch you from above¤ 27:23 ¤And Sabbath after Sabbath we greet the day of rest¤ 27:34 ¤The day the King of glory has sanctified and blessed¤ 27:44 ¤Good bye my friend till we meet again¤ 27:49 ¤For another day with the King¤ 27:54 Good bye, bye, see you next Sabbath. 28:02 ¤ ¤ |
