00:04 with the King.
00:06 ¤ ¤ 00:52 Hello, I'm Auntie Nat. It's great that you could all join 00:54 us to meet with the King. We're about to open the Sabbath. 00:57 Come and join our worship time together. Hello Auntie Cecily. 01:00 It's wonderful that you're here with us tonight. 01:02 Hello Auntie Nat. 01:04 And hello children. Great that you could come and worship the 01:07 King with us. And hello Teddy. It's lovely that you can come 01:10 meet with us as well. You're so quiet there. He is isn't he? 01:14 Yeah. Okay Aunt Cecily, could you have a prayer for us please. 01:18 Yes. Dear Father in heaven, we thank you for keeping us safe 01:22 through another week. We thank you that the boys and girls at 01:25 home could come and join us as we open the Sabbath. We just 01:29 pray for your presence, too. In Jesus' name Amen. 01:34 Amen. Do you know that this is a great time to reflect on our 01:38 week and count the many blessings that God has sent us. 01:40 Sarah, you have a blessing to share with us today. 01:44 Well, my sister was climbing up a tree at my friend's house 01:47 and it was kind of like a spiral staircase. And all of a sudden 01:51 she slipped and kind of the spiral staircase caught her so 01:55 And I think that God had the tree to save her. He knew what 01:57 was going to happen. 01:59 Oh, that's wonderful that she came out okay. She didn't hurt 02:02 herself? That's terrific. Thanks Sarah for sharing that with us. 02:06 Auntie Cecily, you have a lovely blessing to share with us as 02:10 well about our amazing God. 02:11 I do. Remember the last two Sabbaths we spoke about how God 02:16 is our deliverer and that he is holy. Well God is also the I Am. 02:24 Later on we'll be studying how God wanted to prove to the 02:28 then-known world that he was more powerful than the Egyptian 02:33 gods and idols. He wanted to show that He's the living God. 02:38 Is an idol made from stone a living, breathing, seeing prayer 02:44 answering God? No. A stone can't hear or see us can they. Only a 02:50 living God can. So God's the only God who is the beginning 02:55 and the end. Deuteronomy tells us that He's always existed 03:00 which is a hard thing to get your head around, isn't it? 03:02 God in the beginning created the heavens and the earth and we are 03:10 to worship the Creator, not the creation. So he didn't ask us to 03:15 worship the river of the sun. We're to worship God alone. God 03:20 is the I Am. 03:22 Amen. Thank you Auntie Cecily. 03:25 Do you know another great way we can worship God is in song 03:29 and we have Pastor Rick here with us. Thanks Pastor Rick. 03:32 Hi children. Let's sing God Loves Me. 03:37 ¤ ¤ 04:17 That was a tongue twister wasn't it? Really good. 04:21 Pastor Rick, can we please sing Do Lord? 04:25 Absolutely, that's the great song. 04:27 Ready? 05:42 Wonderful. 05:44 Pastor Rick, can we sing the Sanctuary? 05:47 That's a lovely song. Let's try it. 05:51 ¤ ¤ 06:32 And again. 07:12 Thanks Pastor Rick. It's great to praise God in song. 07:17 And Dr. John also has a blessing to share with us as well. 07:20 Let's go and have a look at that 07:26 Hello boys and girls, my name is Dr. John Hammond and welcome 07:30 to Sunnyside, the Australian home of Mrs. Ellen G. White. 07:34 I have some interesting stories for you. Just come inside with 07:38 me. You're going to like this. 07:43 Hello boys and girls. I'm Dr. John. I've got another story 07:48 for you about Ellen. Ellen had a piece of clothing that's so 07:53 small, I'm holding it here in my hand. It's the lightest and 07:57 smallest piece of clothing you'd ever get. It is so little. 08:02 Do you know what it is? It's a hair net and it is so 08:09 fine and she wore it because she had long hair and when she put 08:15 it on (I'll look funny), it held her hair in place. And you know, 08:21 she used to keep it on her dressing table, just like that. 08:23 And one morning she was combing her hair and she was ready. She 08:29 knew exactly where the hair net was because she just reached out 08:36 her hand. It was gone. I wonder where it is. So she got down on 08:40 her hands and knees. She looked underneath the bed, she looked 08:45 underneath the couch. Well that night at worship, she had girls 08:51 staying in her house, she said has anybody seen my hair net? 08:57 And one girl, in this story her name is Betsy, she wasn't 09:03 feeling very happy, because the night before she was walking 09:08 through, and she saw this little hair net and she thought, I 09:13 would look so pretty in that hair net. She took it. What do 09:17 we call it when people take something that doesn't belong 09:21 to them? Stealing. Yeah, she'd stolen it. She was a good girl 09:27 but she was about to learn a lesson. That night when Mrs. 09:30 White said has anybody seen my hair net. All the other girls 09:34 said, Nooo. And Betsy said N- N-Nooo. 09:40 She wasn't feeling very happy. Well Mrs. White was missing her 09:47 hair net. And you know, Betsy had taken her hair net and she 09:53 thought I better hide it. And so she went to her trunk where she 09:58 kept all of her clothes and she just put it on top and she shut 10:04 it. And the next day Ellen was still wondering about her hair 10:10 net and she was in Betsy's room and a voice said to her, Open 10:17 that trunk. I can't open the trunk. It's not mine and the 10:23 voice said again, because it was an angel, a bit stronger this 10:27 time, Open that trunk. So she opened it and inside, Hah, my 10:38 hair net. Oh. What am I going to do. Well she decided that 10:44 she wouldn't touch it. After all it wasn't her trunk and she 10:50 closed it. And the next night she said to the girls, Are you 10:56 sure nobody's seen my hair net? And all the girls said, No, not 11:02 me. And Betsy said, No not me, but she wasn't feeling terribly 11:07 happy inside. And she got frightened. She thought, Oh what 11:11 am I going to do. I'm going to have to get rid of it. And she 11:17 went and she opened the trunk and she went over to the lamp 11:25 and the lamp was lit, and she held it over and poof it was 11:32 gone. And the next day they had worship and Mrs. White said are 11:36 you sure nobody's taken my hair net. No, no and Betsy said No. 11:47 And after worship Ellen said Betsy can you just wait behind. 11:53 She said, I had a dream last night and in my dream (it was 11:58 one of the shortest visions she every had) she saw a hand, it 12:04 was a girl's hand, it was holding a hair net and she saw 12:08 it over the lamp and then it disappear it was burnt. Betsy 12:17 started to cry. Oh Mrs. White she didn't know that she had a 12:23 dream and a vision about the missing hair net. I'm so sorry. 12:28 And she started 12:29 to cry and cry and cry. And you know what Mrs. White did? She 12:34 reached out and she put her hands around Betsy and she 12:38 hugged her and she said, God forgives you. And she never, 12:43 ever, ever stole anything again. Thank you boys and girls. 12:48 Happy Sabbath. Welcome to our Bible study. If you haven't got 12:52 you're Bibles ready yet go get them now so you can follow along 12:55 with us. Anna, would you like to say a prayer for us to open 12:58 our study. Yes. Okay. 13:00 Dear Father, what a blessing to be here reading your word. We 13:06 thank you for our Bibles. We want to understand it more. 13:11 Please be with the children as they study with us. 13:12 In Jesus' name, Amen. 13:14 Amen. Now Anna, last Sabbath who spoke to Moses through the 13:20 burning bush. God. And what did God ask Moses to do? 13:24 To lead his people out of Egypt. 13:25 Mmm. And did Pharaoh want to let the Israelites go? No. No he 13:29 didn't, did he? We're going to continue reading this in our 13:33 Bibles. Okay, Ella you've got our first reading to see what 13:37 happened. Can you read Exodus 7:16-18. 13:41 And ye shall say to him, the Lord God of the Hebrews has sent 13:46 me to you saying let my people go that they may serve me in the 13:51 wilderness, for indeed until now you will not hear. Thus says the 13:57 Lord, by this you shall know that I am the Lord. Behold I 14:01 will strike the waters which are in the river with the rod that 14:05 is in my hand and they shall be turned to blood. And the fish 14:09 that are in the river shall die. The river shall stink and the 14:13 Egyptians were loath to drink the water of the river. 14:16 Mmm. So this, boys and girls, is our first of the 14:21 10 plagues that God 14:22 sends to Egypt. Do you know that the Nile River was worshipped as 14:27 a god by the Egyptians. So now the Nile is a stinky idol god. 14:32 Wouldn't be very nice, would it? Do we worship a river? No. No. 14:36 We only worship the one true God. If we were to read on the 14:40 plague lasted seven days and Pharaoh's heart was hardened 14:44 and he would not let the children of Israel go. Nick, 14:49 you've got our next reading please. Exodus 8:1-4 and 7-8. 14:54 And the Lord spoke to Moses. Go to Pharaoh and say to him 15:00 Thus says the Lord, Let my people go that they may serve 15:05 Me. But if you refuse to let them go, Behold I will smite you 15:09 all your territory with frogs. So the river shall bring forth 15:13 frogs abundantly and shall go up and come into your house, into 15:17 your bedroom, on your bed, into the houses of your servants, on 15:21 your people, into you ovens and into your kneading bowls. And 15:27 the frogs shall come up on your people and on all your servants. 15:30 And the magicians did so with their enchantments and brought 15:34 up frogs on the land of Egypt. Then Pharaoh called for Moses 15:38 and Aaron and said, Entreat the Lord that he may take away the 15:42 frogs from me, from my people, and I will let the people go 15:46 that they may sacrifice to the Lord. 15:48 Wow. So that's the second plague and what was the second plague? 15:52 Frogs. Frogs. And you won't believe it but the Egyptians 15:57 worshipped frogs as well. Even the magicians provided a 16:01 counterfeit and produced frogs. But did they have the power to 16:05 remove them? No. No, only God could remove the plague and if 16:09 we were to read on Pharaoh asked Moses to remove it. God allowed 16:13 the frogs to die and Egypt stank of stinky, idol frogs. Can you 16:18 imagine the smell. Do we worship a frog? No. No, we only worship 16:24 the one true God. Pharaoh said to Moses, that the people could 16:29 go, but he changed his mind after those frogs went. Okay, 16:33 if we were to continue reading chapter 8 of Exodus, we would 16:38 find out that the third plague was lice and the fourth plague 16:42 was flies. While all these plagues were going on, the 16:44 Israelites, they did not have a single plague fall on them. 16:48 God was protecting them and keeping them safe through the 16:52 plagues. So the fifth plague was the Egyptian livestock were 16:56 destroyed by disease. But none of the Israelite livestock were 17:00 destroyed. The Egyptians also worshipped their livestock and 17:04 had gods that resembled their animals. Anna, can you please 17:07 read for us Exodus 9:10-12. 17:13 Then they took ashes from the furnace and stood before Pharaoh 17:17 and Moses scattered them toward heaven they caused boils that 17:21 break out in sores on man and beast. And the magicians could 17:25 not stand before Moses because of the boils for the boils were 17:29 on the magicians and on all the Egyptians. But the Lord hardened 17:33 the heart of Pharaoh and he did not heed them just as the Lord 17:37 had spoken to Moses. 17:39 Mmm. So the sixth plague was boils. Now we just read in verse 17:41 11 that even the magicians had boils. This was done to show 17:47 that God is even more powerful than the magicians. Do you think 17:51 it would have been very painful? Yes. They were and they weren't 17:55 very nice at all. So let's read Exodus 9:13 and 18 and Ben, 18:00 you're going to read that for us 18:01 Then the Lord said to Moses, Rise early in the morning and 18:05 stand before Pharaoh and say to him, Thus says the Lord God of 18:08 the Hebrews, Let my people go that they may serve Me... Behold 18:13 tomorrow about this time I will cause very heavy hail to rain 18:18 down such as has not been in Egypt since its founding until 18:22 now. Wow. So God is telling Pharaoh 18:25 through Moses that the seventh plague was going to be hail. God 18:29 told Moses to tell the Pharaoh that the hail will kill all 18:33 their livestock that's left and if they don't bring them under 18:37 cover something's going to happen to them. Now Sarah, 18:41 you're going to read from our Torch Light because the plagues 18:45 seem to be getting worse. Let's have a look at what Mrs. White 18:48 says to shine on that verse that we just read. 18:52 Before the infliction of each plague Moses was to describe 18:58 its nature and effects that the king might save himself from it 19:02 if he chose. Every punishment rejected would be followed by 19:07 one more severe until his proud heart would be humbled and he 19:10 would acknowledge the Maker of heaven and earth as the true 19:14 and living God. 19:16 Mmm. So God was trying to humble the Pharaoh's heart and help him 19:20 realize that worshipping idols was wrong and that God was the 19:24 true and living God. I wonder what Pharaoh did. Aunt Cecily, 19:29 you're going to read for us Exodus 9:27-28. 19:34 And Pharaoh sent and called for Moses and Aaron and said to them 19:40 I have sinned this time. The Lord is righteous and my people 19:45 and I are wicked. Entreat the Lord that there may be no more 19:50 mighty thundering and hail for it is enough. I will let you go 19:56 and you shall stay no longer. 19:58 So Pharaoh repented but if we 20:02 were to continue reading it was not sincere and his heart was 20:06 hardened again. So if we were to continue read, the eighth 20:11 plague was locusts. And by now the Egyptians, they have had 20:16 enough and they plead with Pharaoh to let the Israelites 20:21 go. They have seen that the Hebrews' God is more powerful, 20:26 but Pharaoh will only let the Israelite men go, not the women 20:30 and children. But God wants all of them to go, so the plague 20:35 comes, the locusts, they ate up everything. Pharaoh repented 20:39 again but again he was not sincere and after the plague was 20:44 gone his heart was hardened again. Now Ella, you've got our 20:48 next reading, Exodus 10:21-23. 20:54 Then the Lord said to Moses, stretch our your hand toward 20:58 the heavens that there may be darkness over the land of Egypt, 21:02 darkness which may even be felt. So Moses stretched out his hand 21:06 towards heaven and there was a thick darkness in all the land 21:10 of Egypt three days. They did not see one another nor did 21:14 anyone rise from his place for three days. But all the children 21:18 of Israel had light in their dwellings. 21:21 So how many days was it completely dark for? Three. 21:25 Yeah three days. But the Israelites had light in their 21:29 homes. One of Egypt's greatest gods, guess what it was. It was 21:34 the sun god. The sun god was called Rah. The Pharaoh 21:38 considered himself the son of Rah. So this darkness for three 21:42 days was a Hugh blow to their so-called power of the sun god. 21:46 Do we worship the sun as a god? No. No, we worship the one and 21:50 true God. We don't worship the creation, but we worship the 21:55 Creator that made these things. So Pharaoh's heart was hardened 22:00 again. Let's look at our memory verse and that's found in 22:04 1 John 5:21. And for the boys and girls at home you can find 22:09 1 John 21 in the New Testament towards the end. Okay. So let's 22:13 read that together. 22:16 Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen. 22:22 Nick, can you please read our next reading: Exodus 11:1 and 22:28 4-5. Let's see what happens next 22:34 And the Lord said to Moses, I'll bring one more plague on Pharaoh 22:39 and on Egypt. Afterward, he will let you go from here. When he 22:44 let's you go he'll surely drive you out of here all together. 22:48 Then Moses said, Thus says the Lord, about midnight I'll go out 22:52 into the midst of Egypt and all the firstborn in the land of 22:56 Egypt shall die, from the firstborn of the Pharaoh 23:00 who sits on his throne, even to the firstborn of the female 23:04 servant who is behind the hand mill and all the firstborn of 23:08 the animals. 23:09 So this is the 10th and final plague. Now God tells Moses 23:12 if the children of Israel must do something to protect them and 23:16 their household from this 10th plague. Dean, can you please 23:20 read for us Exodus 12:21-23. 23:29 Then Moses called for all the elders of Israel and said to 23:33 them, Pick out and take lambs for yourselves according to your 23:36 families and kill the Passover lamb and ye shall take a bunch 23:41 of hyssop, dip it in the blood that is in the basin and strike 23:45 the lintel and the two doorposts with the blood that is in the 23:48 basin and none of you shall go out of the door of his house 23:52 until morning. For the Lord will pass through the strike to 23:55 Egyptians and when he sees the blood on the lintel and on the 23:59 two doorposts, the Lord will pass over the door and not allow 24:03 the destroyer to come to your house to strike you. 24:07 So each household had to kill a lamb and sprinkle the blood 24:12 around the doorposts so their firstborn would not die. Anna, 24:16 you're going to read our next reading, Exodus 12:29-32. 24:21 And it came to pass at midnight that the Lord struck all the 24:26 firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh 24:30 who sat on his throne to the firstborn of the captive who was 24:35 in the dungeon, and all the firstborn of livestock. 24:39 So Pharaoh rose in the night, he, all his servants and all the 24:45 Egyptians and there was a great cry in Egypt for there was not a 24:51 house where there was not one dead. Then he called for Moses 24:56 and Aaron by night and said, Rise, go out from among my 24:59 people, both you and the children of Israel and go serve 25:06 the Lord as ye have said. Also take your flocks and you herds, 25:11 as ye have said and be gone, and bless me also. 25:16 So the Israelites were protected and none of their firstborn 25:20 children died. And Pharaoh finally let the Israelites and 25:24 their animals and possessions go. Boys and girls, it was great 25:29 to have you reading the Bible with us. Remember that God 25:32 loves you very much and He is the living God that hears and 25:35 answers your prayers. We have a seven-day devotional that 25:38 expands on what we have learnt today. Here are some details 25:42 on how you can get that. 25:44 Hey boys and girls, like Auntie Nat said, you can go onto our 25:48 website to access our daily devotionals. 25:50 At www.adaywiththeking.com and while you're there you can 25:54 also check out Teddy's blog. He's posted some really cool 25:57 photos of us making the show. He also talks about it as well. 26:03 He even posted about his visit to the vet. So _ today. 26:08 When we spend time with God on the Sabbath, we get to know Him 26:12 better and we grow spiritually as Christians. One way to get to 26:17 know Him is to read our Bibles. Our Bibles teach us how to live 26:21 for Jesus. We want to encourage you to read your Bibles, not 26:25 only on the Sabbath day but every day. Auntie Nat, can you 26:30 tell us about what we're going to learn next week? 26:32 Yes, sure. Next week we're going to learn how God leads the 26:36 children of Israel out of Egypt and the many miracles he 26:40 performs to keep his children safe. So don't miss it. We hope 26:43 that you'll be back next week. Auntie Cecily, can we say our 26:47 memory verse that we learnt in our Bible study today? 26:49 Yes. Are you ready children? 26:52 1 John 5:21- Little children keep yourselves from idols. Amen 27:02 Children are you ready to sing our blessing song to the 27:05 children at home? Let's turn around so we can sing that 27:09 to them. 27:12 ¤May God bless you and keep you and fill your heart with love¤ 27:26 ¤May God guide and protect you and watch you from above¤ 27:36 ¤As Sabbath after Sabbath we greet the day of rest¤ 27:47 ¤The day the King of glory has sanctified and blessed¤ 27:57 ¤Good bye my friends till we meet again¤ 28:02 ¤For another day with the King¤ 28:09 Good bye. See you again next Sabbath. 28:14 ¤ ¤ |
