00:01 Hello there, happy Sabbath.
00:03 Come on in. We're about to meet with the King. 00:06 ¤ ¤ 00:53 Hello, I'm Auntie Nat. It's wonderful that you could all 00:54 join us to meet with the King. 00:56 We're about to open the Sabbath. 00:57 Come and join our worship time together. Auntie Cecily it's 01:01 just delightful that you're here today. 01:03 I'm so glad to be here Auntie Nat. 01:05 And hello children. It's so good that you're here to worship the 01:09 King and welcoming out Sabbath. And Teddy it's just so wonderful 01:14 again that you're with us. Auntie Cecily would you like to 01:17 say a prayer for us please. 01:21 Yes. Dear Father in heaven, we thank you for seeing us safely 01:23 through another week. And we just pray that you would be with 01:27 us. And we thank you also for the boys and girls who are able 01:31 to join us as we open the Sabbath. In Jesus' name Amen. 01:35 Amen. Do you know this is a great time to reflect on our 01:39 blessings that God has sent us during the week. And Chikkita 01:43 you have a blessing to share with us. 01:46 God has blessed me with a beautiful sister and her name is 01:51 Angelica and she was born nine weeks ago. 01:53 I know and she's a beautiful baby. I've seen her. It's a good 01:56 blessing isn't it to have a new family. Thanks for sharing that 02:00 with us Chikkita. And Auntie Cecily you have a blessing to 02:03 share with as well about our amazing God. 02:06 Yes. Remember about how we've spoken about how God is our 02:11 Deliverer and He is holy, and He is the I Am and he is 02:15 compassionate. Well God is also our provider. Later on we'll 02:21 study in the Bible how God provided for the children of 02:25 Israel in the desert. He gave them water to drink and bread to 02:30 eat and God provided for all their needs. The Bible tells us 02:34 not to worry about our life and what we will eat or what we 02:39 should wear, but that God knows our needs and He will provide 02:43 for us. That's a great promise for us to remember and claim. 02:47 We can also ask God to provide you with help any time you need 02:52 it. Jesus loves to hear our prayers and He wants us to come 02:57 to Him when we need His help and God also provided His Son Jesus 03:03 to this world for you and for me Jesus left His Father to come 03:08 down to this earth to die for our sins and He provided a way 03:13 for escape from the penalty of sin. So God is so good. God is 03:19 our Provider. 03:20 Amen. Thank you Auntie Cecily for sharing those wonderful 03:24 words of wisdom with us. Do you know another way that we can 03:28 worship God on Sabbath is through song. And guess what? 03:31 We have Pastor Rick here. Thank you Pastor Rick. 03:34 Hi again Auntie Nat. Welcome 03:36 children. I've got a song that I think would be really good for 03:40 Sabbath worship. It's called Don't Forget the Sabbath. Do you 03:45 think we can sing it? 04:19 Second verse. 04:50 Pastor Rick can we sing I Just Keep Trusting My Lord? 04:56 It's a wonderful song. 06:00 Pastor Rick, could we please sing Redeemed? 06:05 I think we can sing that song too. It's a lovely song. 07:17 Thanks Pastor Rick. That's great to praise God in song. Do you 07:21 know that Dr. John also has a blessing to share with us. 07:25 Let's go and have a look at that. 07:27 Hello boys and girls. My name is Dr. John Hammond and welcome to 07:36 Sunnyside, the Australian home of Mrs. Ellen G. White. I have 07:41 some interesting stories for you. Just come inside with me. 07:45 You're going to like this. Hello boys and girls. Welcome back. 07:50 I'm Dr. John and I have another story for you and this story 07:56 happened right here in the garden of this house called 08:01 Sunnyside. You know when she bought this house the land here 08:06 was so dry and the soil was so bad that they said you cannot 08:11 grow anything here. But she said yes we will and she started to 08:16 grow things. And she planted a garden and it started to grow 08:22 and the young leaves looked beautiful and then something 08:27 happened, something that every plant needs wasn't happening. 08:33 What does every plant need. Somebody tell me. Oh, I've got 08:39 some water. You know if you were not to be given any water or 08:45 food. Which would be worse, no food or no water? If you get no 08:50 food you'd feel very hungry for a few days, then you'd not feel 08:54 hungry but if you don't have water the last thought you ever 09:01 had is for some lovely, fresh water. And plants have feelings. 09:06 They haven't got any brains but they want the water. And you 09:12 it stopped raining and the plants grew up and then as 09:17 the soil dried, they started to fall over like that. And she was 09:21 worried. And she went out one morning just over the fence, and 09:27 Mr. Jones the gardener was working there and he said Mrs. 09:31 White these plants are so thirsty, they're going to die. 09:35 We need to have a wind mill. Now windmills are expensive. They're 09:40 tall as the house. You go dig a very deep hole and then 09:45 the big blades turn around and pump the water out of the ground 09:50 If you don't get a windmill Mrs. White the plants will die. Aw, 09:56 she said I've been saving up some money. She was very good 10:01 at saving money. She said I might just have enough money for 10:06 a windmill. Then she saw her son Willie who was a pastor walking 10:12 across the road. And instead of 10:13 walking across very happily like he always walked, his shoulders 10:19 were down, his head was down and when he looked at her she said 10:24 Willie what is the matter? He said, Mother, all the workers 10:29 at the factory they've been building and painting and 10:33 plastering and we haven't paid them this week. Why not. We have 10:40 got no more money. Have you got any money? She said, Well I've 10:46 got some money here for a windmill. Oh, Mother, we do need 10:52 that money. These people will go hungry tonight. They won't have 10:57 enough money for food. Oh, she said take the money and he went 11:02 and paid the workers. That night it was a hot day. It was so hot 11:07 that she knelt by her window in that room in the corner and she 11:12 said, Please God, we need rain. We haven't got a windmill. Now 11:18 in the morning she felt the breeze just turn a little bit 11:23 and she felt a cool breeze and she saw the clouds building up. 11:27 Then she heard the rumble of thunder and then it started to 11:33 rain. It rained and it rained and it rained and finally Door 11:40 creek the water went up and the plants were like that. By that 11:46 night, nnn (plants inching up) but the next day nnnn (plants 11:52 inching up some more) and by the day after, ohh, happy plants and 11:54 you now the next day, the post man arrived and there was a 12:00 letter. And she opened it. Out fell all this money. Somebody 12:07 had sent them money long before the rain started again and it 12:12 said, Use this as you see best. And she went out and she looked 12:18 at the garden and there were all the plants were very happy. And 12:24 Mr. Jones came along and he said Mrs. White, we didn't get the 12:30 windmill but God opened the windows of heaven. And boys and 12:35 girls, if you and I are faithful to God He will open heaven's 12:40 windows and He will bless your lives and you will be happy in 12:45 His service. Thank you boys and girls. 12:48 Hi boys and girls. Happy Sabbath Welcome to our Bible study. 12:51 I hope you 12:53 know by now to have your Bibles ready with us so you can study 12:55 with us. Kate, you're going to say a prayer for us to open our 12:58 study time. Thank you. 13:00 Dear God, Thank you for the children who are with us reading 13:05 your Bible. Please help them to understand what they're reading 13:10 and thank you for loving us so much Amen. 13:12 Amen. Thank you. Kate do you remember what we studied about 13:17 last Sabbath? 13:19 Yes we studied about how God delivered the Israelites from 13:25 the Egyptians and opened the Red Sea for them. 13:28 Mmm. It was pretty amazing wasn't it. It was a good study. 13:32 Okay. Did they have to fight or did God fight for them. 13:36 God fought for them. 13:37 He did, didn't He. It was wonderful. All right, we're 13:39 going to start off with our reading now and we're going to 13:42 start off in Exodus 15:22-26 and Ella you're going to read that 13:47 for us please. 13:49 So Moses brought Israel from the Red Sea and then they went out 13:53 into the Wilderness of Shur. Then they went three days in the 13:57 wilderness and found no water. Now when they came to Marah 14:01 they could not drink the waters of Marah for they were bitter. 14:05 Therefore the name of it was called Marah and the people 14:10 complained against Moses saying, What shall we drink. So he 14:14 cried out to the Lord and the Lord showed him a tree. When he 14:19 cast it into the waters, the waters were made sweet. Then 14:23 he made a statute and an ordinance for them and there he 14:28 tested them and said, If you diligently heed the voice of the 14:33 Lord your God and do what is right in His sight, give ear to 14:38 His commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of 14:42 the diseases on you which I have brought on the Egyptians for I 14:46 am the Lord who heals you. 14:49 Wow. So how many days were they traveling for until they found 14:53 water? What did we just read? Three. Three days. Aunt Cecily 14:57 can you show us on the map where Marah is and Rameses is at the 15:01 top where they came from so they've come a long way haven't 15:04 they? Mmm. So was the water fit for drinking? No. Was it bitter? 15:11 Yes. It was. Do you think that made the Israelites happy or 15:14 sad? Sad. Sad. They weren't happy at all and they all 15:18 complained to Moses. Now when you have over a million people 15:22 complaining about their thirst, there's only one thing to do and 15:26 that's what Moses did. He asked God and God told him to throw a 15:31 certain tree into the waters and they became sweet to drink. 15:35 Isn't God good? Yeah. He's so good. He provided for their 15:39 needs. Okay, Nick. You're going to read for us now. 15:42 Exodus 16:1-3 15:45 And they journeyed from Elim and all the congregation of the 15:48 children of Israel came to the Wilderness of Sin which is 15:52 between Elim and Sinai on the fifteenth day of the second 15:56 month after they departed from the land of Egypt. Then the 15:59 whole congregation of the children of Israel complained 16:02 against Moses and Aaron in the wilderness. And the children of 16:07 Israel said to them, Oh that we had died in the hand of the Lord 16:11 in the land of Egypt when we sat by the pots of meat and when we 16:15 ate bread to the full. For you have brought us out here in the 16:19 wilderness to kill this whole assembly with hunger. 16:24 Mmm. So now the children of Israel are complaining of being 16:28 hungry. Elijah you're going to read for us next, Exodus 16:4. 16:33 Then the Lord said to Moses, Behold I will rain bread from 16:36 heaven for you and the people shall go out and gather a 16:40 certain quota every day that I may test them whether they will 16:44 walk in my law or not. 16:46 Wow! Bread from heaven. I wonder what's all about. Kate, you have 16:50 our next reading. Let's find out what the bread from heaven is. 16:53 Exodus 16:11-15. 16:56 And the Lord spoke to Moses saying, I have heard the 17:01 complaints of the children of Israel. Speak to them saying, 17:04 At twilight you shall eat meat and in the morning you shall be 17:08 filled with bread and you shall know that I am the Lord your God 17:12 So it was that quails came up at evening and covered the camp and 17:17 covered the camp and in the morning the dew lay all around 17:21 the camp. And when the layer of dew lifted, on the surface of 17:26 the wilderness was a small round substance as fine as frost on 17:30 the ground. So when the children of Israel saw it they said to 17:35 one another what is it for they did not know what it was and 17:39 Moses said to them, This is the bread which the Lord has given 17:42 you to eat. 17:46 Mmm. So God heard their pleas for hunger and had sent them 17:48 some quail, just that one particular evening, and some 17:51 bread every morning. God is so good. He provides for our needs. 17:55 Let's read our memory verse together and that's found in 17:59 Philippians 4:19. And children at home, that's in the New 18:04 Testament towards the end. So let's read that Philippians 4:19 18:08 together. 18:10 And my God shall supply all your needs according to His 18:16 riches in glory by Christ Jesus. 18:20 Amen. Now there were some special instructions about 18:24 gathering the bread every morning and Ben, you're going 18:28 to read that for us in Exodus 16:16-21. 18:33 This is the thing which the Lord has commanded. Let every man 18:37 gather it according to each one's need, one omer for each 18:41 person according to the number of persons, let every man take 18:45 for those who are in his tent. Then the children of Israel did 18:49 so and gathered some more, some less. So when they measured it 18:53 by omers he who had gathered much had nothing left over and 18:57 he who had gathered little had no lack. Every man had gathered 19:01 according to each one's need. And Moses said let no one leave 19:05 any of it until morning. Notwithstanding, they did not 19:09 heed Moses. Some of them left part of it until morning and it 19:13 bred worms and stank. And Moses was angry with them. So they 19:17 gathered it every morning, every man according to his need and 19:20 when the sun became hot it melted. 19:23 Mmm. So the Bible tells us they had to collect one omer per day 19:27 per person. They also had to trust God that He would provide 19:31 for them the next day. Because what happened if they collected 19:35 more than they needed. What happened to it? 19:38 Yeah, it bred worms and stank, which wouldn't have been very 19:44 nice would have it. And we have here, Auntie Nat has been busy 19:47 researching and I discovered that one omer is about 2.2 or 19:53 two and a half liters and that is about 2.2 liters of manna 19:58 of bread from heaven. And you can see that that was what had 20:03 to last you for the whole day. Do you think that's enough? 20:09 It's not enough. 20:10 Yeah, it's hard to now isn't it. You know what when we continue 20:13 reading we'll find out that it probably was just enough. Okay. 20:17 But there were some special instructions about collecting 20:20 the bread for Sabbath. Let's read that Sarah. Can you read 20:23 Exodus 16:22-27 for us please. 20:27 And so it was on the sixth day they gathered twice as much 20:32 bread, two omers for each one. And all the rulers of the 20:38 congregation came and told Moses Then he said to them, This is 20:42 what the Lord has said, tomorrow is a Sabbath rest a holy Sabbath 20:46 to the Lord. Bake what you will bake today and boil what you 20:50 will boil and lay up for yourselves all that remains to 20:54 be kept until morning. So they laid it up till morning as Moses 20:59 commanded and it did not stink nor were there any worms in it. 21:03 Then Moses said, eat that today for today is a Sabbath to the 21:08 Lord. Today you will not find it in the field. Six days you 21:11 shall gather it, but on the seventh day, the Sabbath, there 21:15 will be none. Now it happened that some of the people went out 21:19 on the seventh day to gather, but they found none. 21:22 So God is instructing through Moses that the people had to 21:26 gather on Friday two omers each. So you can imagine, that was 21:30 what they had to gather every day, but on the Friday they had 21:34 to gather two of those to last for the Sabbath day, because 21:39 there was not going to be any bread on the ground on Sabbath. 21:43 Now in verse 24 what does the Bible tell us happened to the 21:47 bread. Did it breed worms and stink like on the other days. 21:50 No God preserved the bread that had to be collected the day 21:54 before, before Sabbath. Did God want them to work on Sabbath 21:57 and spend time collecting food. No, He wanted them to rest and 22:01 spend time worshipping Him. Sarah you have a Torch Light to 22:06 read for us so that we can see what Ellen White writes to 22:10 explain that verse a bit better. Thank you very much. 22:15 In being obliged to gather every 22:17 Friday a double portion of manna 22:19 in preparation for the Sabbath when none would fall, the sacred 22:23 nature of the day of rest was continually impressed upon them. 22:27 Wow. So God performed this miracle every week for the next 22:31 forty years so this specialness of the Sabbath left a very 22:35 deep impression for them. Aunt Cecily you're going to read for 22:39 us now Exodus 16:31. This will tell us what they named the 22:44 bread and I think Auntie Nat's given it away a little bit. 22:48 And the house of Israel called its name manna and it was like 22:53 white coriander seed and the taste of it was like wafers made 22:58 with honey. 22:59 Oh, now let's look at another verse. Elle you've got a verse 23:04 for us found in Psalm 78:23-25 and that tells us something else 23:10 about the manna. 23:11 Yet he had commanded the clouds above and opened the doors of 23:14 heaven and rained down manna on them to eat and had given them 23:18 of the bread of heaven. Men ate angels' food. He sent them food 23:23 to the full. 23:26 Wow! The Bible calls the manna angels' food. So looking at the 23:30 amount, I mean we do eat an awful lot. We live in a very 23:34 abundant country and we might look at that thing that's got to 23:37 last me all day. Do you think that's enough? But I think the 23:40 fact it was angels' food and it was sent from heaven I think it 23:43 was a pretty perfect food and I think it would have been very 23:46 substantial and I think it would have kept their tummies full. 23:49 Because I think God's really good. So again there was no 23:52 water and the people complained against Moses. Moses cried out 23:56 out to the Lord for help. Let's see what happens next. Elijah 23:59 you're going to read for us Exodus 17:5-7. 24:02 And the Lord said to Moses, Go on before the people and take 24:06 with you some of the elders of Israel. Also take in your hand 24:10 your rod with which you struck the river, and go. Behold I will 24:15 stand before you there on the rock in Horeb and you shall 24:19 strike the rock and water may come out of it and the people 24:22 may drink. And Moses did so in the sight of the Elders of 24:26 Israel. So he called the name of the place Massah and Meribah, 24:29 because of the contention of the children of Israel and because 24:32 they tempted the Lord saying is the Lord among us or not? 24:36 Mmm. So God provided again for the children of Israel. 24:39 He brought water out of a rock. Enough for the whole encampment. 24:44 So let's go over what God did for the children of Israel 24:47 today. First He turned the bitter waters into the sweet 24:49 waters. Then he gave them manna every day, every morning to eat. 24:55 And thirdly He preserved the manna that they collected on 24:59 Friday so it was fit to eat on Sabbath so they could keep the 25:04 Sabbath holy and fourthly, He brought water out of the rock. 25:09 Do you know God loves us despite ourselves. We can be 25:10 ungrateful, we can complain and 25:13 we can forget the many blessings that God provides for us each 25:16 day, but God bears long with us. He is so patient. What do you 25:20 think? Do you think He's a patient God? Yes. He is. 25:23 Thank you boys and girls for studying with us today. 25:26 Remember God loves you so much. Pray and ask God to help you 25:29 to be more thankful for what God does for you each and every day. 25:33 We have a seven day devotional that expands on what we've 25:35 studied today. Here is the information on just how you 25:38 can get that. 25:39 Hey boys and girls, like Auntie Nat said you can go onto our 25:43 website to access our daily devotional at 25:46 www.adaywiththeking.com. And while you're there you can also 25:50 check out Teddy's blog. He's posted some really cool photos 25:54 of us making the show. He also talks about it as well. He even 25:59 posted about his visit to the vet. So hop online today. 26:04 Keeping the Sabbath week by week helps strengthen our faith in 26:08 trusting God. One way to build our trust is to read and study 26:13 our Bibles. The Bible's filled with wonderful faith-building 26:17 stories that help us with our walk with the Lord. We want to 26:20 encourage you to read your Bibles, not just on the Sabbath 26:23 day, but every day. Auntie Nat, would you tell us about what we 26:28 are going to study next week. 26:30 Yes, I'd love to. Next Sabbath we're going to study in the 26:33 Bible about some very, very special laws that God gave to 26:37 Moses and to the children of Israel. Don't miss it. 26:40 We want to see you back again next week. Auntie Cecily, shall 26:43 we go over our memory verse with the children that we learnt 26:46 in our study today. 26:48 Yes, let's do that. 26:50 Philippians 4:19- And my God shall supply all your needs 26:57 according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. 27:01 Children are you ready to sing our blessing song? Let's just 27:07 turn around to the children at home. 27:14 ¤May God bless you and keep you and fill your heart with love¤ 27:27 ¤May God guide and protect you and watch you from above¤ 27:37 ¤And Sabbath after Sabbath we greet the day of rest¤ 27:47 ¤The day the King of glory has sanctified and blessed¤ 27:58 ¤Good bye my friend till we meet again¤ 28:02 ¤For another day with the King¤ 28:10 Good bye, see you again next Sabbath. 28:13 ¤ ¤ |
