00:02 Hello there. Happy Sabbath.
00:05 Come on in. We're about to meet with the King. 00:07 ¤ ¤ 00:52 Hello, I'm Auntie Cecily. We're delighted that you could join 00:56 us to meet with the King. We're 00:58 about to open the Sabbath. Come and join our worship time 01:02 together. Hello Auntie Nat. It's 01:04 always good to see you here with 01:06 us. Thanks Auntie Cecily. 01:07 Hello children. We're so glad you're able to help us as we 01:11 meet with the King too. And hello Teddy. You're looking all 01:15 settled and ready for the Sabbath as well. Auntie Nat, 01:19 would you please say a prayer for us before we commence our 01:21 worship. 01:23 Sure, I'd love to. Dearest heavenly Father, we praise and 01:26 thank your name for the Sabbath. We praise and thank your name 01:29 for what you have done for us. We thank you Lord, and we ask 01:32 that you will come into our hearts today and we ask this 01:35 in Jesus' name. Amen. 01:37 Amen. Do you know that it's a great time to reflect on our 01:42 week and count the blessings that God has sent us. Kate, has 01:46 there been something that's happened that you can thank the 01:50 Lord for? 01:51 Well during the holidays, our cousins from Sydney came up and 01:55 we don't get to see them very often, so we got to have a good 01:59 time with them. 02:00 Ah that's so good isn't it Thank you for sharing that with us. 02:04 Auntie Cecily you have a blessing to share with us too 02:06 about our awesome God. 02:09 Yes. Over the past nine weeks we've been discovering what God 02:13 is like. And remember we said He was our Deliverer, He's holy, 02:17 and the I Am. He's also compassionate and our 02:22 Provider and God is love. God is the God of order and He's 02:27 merciful and sacrificial. And today I want to add one more. 02:32 God is our Creator. Now way back when we first opened our 02:38 Bibles and started in Genesis chapter 1, we were told that God 02:43 made our entire world and everything in it including you 02:48 and me. Today when we have our Bible study we'll look at how 02:53 God wants us to treat our bodies and what to put in them so that 02:57 they stay in great working order. Our Creator knows how 03:02 everything works. He built us from our little microscopic 03:07 cells up. So do you think He knows what's best for us? 03:11 Yes He does, doesn't He? God is a master craftsman. Psalm 139 03:17 tells us that we are fearfully and wonderfully made. Now 03:22 because God made you he doesn't toss you aside like a used toy 03:27 once you've come into existence. God loves you and watches over 03:33 you and takes care of you and is interested in you. Isaiah 44 03:38 tells us He knew you in the womb. He also knows the number 03:42 of hairs on your head. Do you know the number of hairs on your 03:47 head? No I don't, but God does. He knows us intimately and wants 03:52 to be a part of our lives. So remember, God is our Creator. 03:57 Amen. Thank you Auntie Cecily for sharing that with us. Do you 04:01 know another way that we can worship God on the Sabbath is to 04:05 worship Him in song. And we have Pastor Rick here. Thanks Pastor 04:09 Rick. 04:10 Thanks Auntie Nat. Great to be 04:12 here. Welcome children. Could we sing This Little Light of Mine? 04:17 ¤This little light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine¤ 04:30 Let it shine, let it shine let it shine. 04:56 Pastor Rick, can we please sing Soon and Very Soon? 04:59 That's a great song because it means we're going to see Jesus 05:03 again soon. 06:01 Pastor Rick, may we sing Make Me Like You? 06:07 Yes we can. 06:42 Sing it again. 07:16 Thanks Pastor Rick. Singing praise to God really lifts our 07:20 spirits. Now Dr. John has a blessing for us as well. Let's 07:25 go and have a look at that. 07:26 ¤ ¤ Hello boys and girls. My name is Dr. John Hammond and 07:34 welcome to Sunnyside the Australian home of Mrs. Ellen 07:37 G. White. I have some interesting stories for you. 07:41 Just come inside with me. You're going to like this. 07:45 Hello boys and girls. I'm Dr. John and I have another story 07:51 just for you. This little girl was called Jean. She was a 07:57 lovely little girl. She was about nine years of age and as 08:03 I look at your faces I think I can see somebody just like Jean 08:08 and you know why I have chosen you. You come up and stand next 08:16 to me. Jean loved to smile. In fact she smiled so much that 08:23 quite often it changed to a giggle. Now she's not smiling 08:29 that much but Jean look at me. You're Jean today instead of 08:36 Cassie. Don't you smile. Oh she's got the smile. Oh she's 08:43 giggling. Oh well you're perfect for this story. Jean went to a 08:48 camp meeting. Sometimes we all go to Big Camp and she didn't 08:53 go to the primary or the juniors She was late with her mommy and 08:59 they got to the Big Tent and Mrs. White was speaking. And you 09:04 know when you come late everybody's got all the back 09:07 seats. They had to go all the way down the front in the very 09:14 front row. Now right in front of them was this little old lady 09:19 and she was speaking and it was Ellen. And Jean sat there. 09:26 And Jean couldn't sit there for very long without smiling. And 09:31 she smiled at Mrs. White and maybe Mrs. White saw her but she 09:36 kept on talking. And then she thought, I have never heard 09:40 anybody talking quite like this because Mrs. White was this 09:44 because Mrs. White was American and all of you are Australian 09:48 and Americans speak a little bit differently, different accent. 09:52 And Jean smiled. And after a while she went (snickered), a 10:05 little giggle. Mrs. White didn't see that. But after a while she 10:10 had this funny accent and she would (snickers). And mother 10:15 looked at her. Shhh. And Jean went very quiet. And then Mrs. 10:21 White kept on talking. And after a while she said something else 10:27 (out loud snicker) and finally gave her a grin. Shhh and you 10:32 know what? It was too late for Jean. She saw the funny side 10:36 Funny little old lady talking with a funny accent and using 10:43 different words and finally, shock, horror she (busts out 10:49 laughing) and Mrs. White stopped and looked at her. Aw the shame 10:55 of it and she went on talking. And Jean thought, I've got to 11:01 be good, I got to be good, I (bursts our laughing). Well 11:08 Mrs. White noticed and it must have been distracting and when 11:13 she went home Jean's mother was saying Jean I am not at all 11:18 happy with you. You've been a naughty girl tonight. Tomorrow 11:23 morning you are going to Mrs. White's house and you are going 11:28 to apologize. Hah, Jean hardly slept that night. In the morning 11:33 they said we're going to take a little present. So her mommy had 11:38 been up, because her mommy was feeling really bad. First of all 11:43 we'll give her some beautiful roses and some lovely grapes. 11:47 They caught the tram and Jean was carefully carrying the 11:51 basket. And they knocked on the door and Mrs. White came out and 11:58 she said, Oh isn't that lovely. Beautiful. And the grapes, Aw 12:07 so nice. And after a while Jean said, Mrs. White I want to say 12:15 sorry. I laughed at you last night. I giggled. Let's stop the 12:23 story there. What did Mrs. White say? Did she say, Don't 12:27 you ever, ever do that again. What do you think she said? 12:33 Come up here Jean (Cassie). Stand next to me. She put her 12:39 arm around her. She said, I love you and she gave her a little 12:44 text on a card and she said I know you won't do it again. And 12:49 never ever lose your smiling face. And Jean never forgot but 12:54 she never lost that smiling face. Thank you Jean (Cassie), 12:59 thank you boys and girls. 13:01 Hi boys and girls. Happy Sabbath Welcome to our Bible study. 13:04 I hope you have your Bibles so that you can read along with us. 13:08 Come and join us. Ben could you please say a prayer for us to 13:11 open our study. Thank you. 13:13 Dear God, we thank you for the privilege of being here and 13:17 studying your word. Please show us today how we can live for you 13:21 In Jesus' name. Amen. 13:24 Amen. Now remember last Sabbath we spoke about how they built 13:27 that sanctuary. And Ben did the plans match up with the plans 13:31 that Moses was given by God? Yes. They did, didn't they? And 13:35 they did the right thing, which was wonderful. Now Dean we're 13:38 going to be studying in a new book of the Bible today. We've 13:42 studied in Genesis, Exodus and now we're going to Leviticus 13:45 and Dean can you tell me from your Remnant Young Scholar Study 13:49 Bible who wrote the book of Leviticus. 13:51 Moses wrote Leviticus. 13:52 Moses did. And what was the time span of Leviticus? 13:56 It was 30 days. 13:58 Yeah, it was over a 30-day period. And can you tell me why 14:01 Leviticus was written? 14:04 It was written because God wanted them to live healthy, 14:09 holy lives and be an example of what God can do for His people 14:12 if they will worship one true God. 14:15 Mmm. That's good isn't it? So we're going to have a look at 14:17 Leviticus and we'll see what the Bible has for us. So if we were 14:23 to read the first part of Leviticus, it tells us all about 14:26 the different sorts of animal sacrifices for their sin 14:28 offering and special thank offerings to the Lord that the 14:32 children of Israel had to bring. This was all teaching the 14:35 children of Israel about the coming Messiah. And Anna you're 14:38 going to do our first reading for us and we're going to start 14:40 in Leviticus 8. So can you read Leviticus 8:1-4 please. 14:46 And the Lord spoke to Moses saying, Take Aaron and his sons 14:51 with him and the garments, the anointing oil, a bull as the sin 14:56 offering, two rams and a basket of unleavened bread. And gather 15:00 all the congregation together at the door of the tabernacle 15:05 of meeting. So Moses did as the Lord commanded him and the 15:09 congregation was gathered together at the door of the 15:13 tabernacle of meeting. 15:15 Mmm. So Dean you're going to do our next reading, 15:17 Leviticus 8:5-9. 15:19 And Moses said to the congregation. This is what the 15:25 Lord commanded to be done. Then Moses brought Aaron and his sons 15:29 and washed them with water and he put the tunic on him, girded 15:35 him with the sash, clothed him with the robe and put the ephod 15:42 on him and he girded him with intricately woven band of the 15:48 ephod and with it tied the ephod on him. Then he put the 15:54 breastplate on him and he put the Urim and the Thummim in the 15:59 breastplate. Then he put the turban on his head, also on the 16:04 turban, on its front, he put the golden plate, the holy crown as 16:08 the Lord had commanded Moses. 16:11 Mmm. Now Elijah can you please read Leviticus 8:10-13. 16:15 Also Moses took the anointing oil and anointed the tabernacle 16:19 and all that was in it and consecrated them. He sprinkled 16:23 some of it on the altar seven times, anointed the altar and 16:27 all its utensils, and the laver and its base to consecrate them. 16:31 And he poured some of the anointing oil on Aaron's head 16:34 and anointed him to consecrate him. Then Moses brought Aaron's 16:38 sons and put tunics on them, girded them with sashes and put 16:41 hats on them as the Lord had commanded Moses. 16:44 Wow. So what Aaron and his sons were anointed to do was a great 16:48 honor. God called them to do a very special work in the 16:51 sanctuary. If we were to continue reading chapters 8 and 16:55 9, the Bible tells us it was an eight-day ceremony that the 16:59 priests had to go through to be consecrated for the service of 17:03 the sanctuary. On the eighth day God showed up in His glory by 17:06 consuming the offerings of the sanctuary with great power and 17:10 majesty. The children of Israel fell on their faces in worship 17:14 when they saw this. But you know what? Not long after this 17:19 something dreadful happened. Sarah you're going to read that 17:23 for us in Leviticus 10:1-3. 17:27 Now Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, each took his sensor and 17:32 put fire in it, put incense on it and offered profane fire 17:37 before the Lord, which he had not commanded them. So fire went 17:41 out from the Lord and devoured them and they died before the 17:45 Lord. And Moses said to Aaron, This is what the Lord spoke 17:50 saying, By those who come near Me, I must be regarded as holy; 17:55 and before all the people I must be glorified. So Aaron held 17:59 his peace. 18:00 Oh dear. Nadab and Abihu had lit 18:03 their censers with their own fire instead of using God's holy 18:08 fire that He Himself had kindled They used the common instead of 18:13 the sacred. They had disobeyed. God is a holy God and a God of 18:18 order and Nadab and Abihu knew they should not have done it. 18:22 But something happened. Let's look at our Torch Light, Mrs. 18:25 White's writings, to see what they shine on what was have just 18:29 read. Anna you've got that for us. Can you do that for us? 18:34 Good girl. 18:36 Nadab and Abihu would never have 18:40 committed that fatal sin had 18:45 they not first become partially intoxicated by the free use of 18:51 wine. They understood that the most careful and solemn 18:55 preparation was necessary before presenting themselves in the 18:59 sanctuary where the Divine presence was manifested. But by 19:04 intemperance they were disqualified for their holy 19:06 office. 19:08 Thanks Anna. That's very sobering to think about. So they 19:11 were drunk. But do you think you can make a wise decision when 19:16 you're drunk? No. No. It affects your thinking and then you end 19:20 up making some very silly decisions. In Nadab and Abihu' s 19:25 situation it cost them their lives. Aunt Cecily, you've got a 19:29 verse to read for us. Leviticus 10:8-11. 19:33 Then the Lord spoke to Aaron saying, Do not drink wine or 19:39 intoxicating drink, you nor your sons with you when you go into 19:44 the tabernacle of meeting, lest you die. It shall be a statute 19:50 forever throughout your generations, that you may 19:54 distinguish between holy and unholy and between unclean and 19:59 clean and that you may teach the children of Israel all the 20:04 statutes which the Lord has spoken to them by the hand of 20:08 Moses. 20:10 Mmm. Thanks Auntie Cecily. So when the priests were to go into 20:13 the sanctuary before the Lord, they were not to drink alcohol. 20:16 Their minds had to be clear for God so they could discern right 20:20 from wrong. They were not to mix the holy with the unholy or the 20:24 clean with the unclean. God does not want partial obedience. What 20:28 do you think He wants? He wants full obedience. Yeah to his 20:32 requirements. God is a holy God. Let's have a look at some other 20:36 verses in the Bible. Dean you're going to read for us 20:39 Proverbs 20:1. Can you do that for us? It tells us a little bit 20:44 more about what we've been talking about. 20:45 Okay. Wine is a mocker, strong drink is a brawler and whoever 20:52 is led astray by it is not wise. 20:55 Mmm. And Elijah you're going to read for us 20:58 1 Corinthians 3:16-17. 21:04 Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the 21:08 Spirit of God dwells in you. If anyone defiles the temple of 21:12 God, God will destroy him for the temple of God is holy, which 21:16 temple you are. 21:18 So our bodies are the temple of God. Okay, so let's continue 21:23 reading. Kate you're going to read for us Leviticus 11:1-2. 21:27 Now the Lord spake to Moses and Aaron saying to them, Speak to 21:31 the children of Israel saying, These are the animals which you 21:35 may eat among all the animals that are on earth. 21:38 So God wants to show them what is healthy for them to eat and 21:43 Ben you've got our next reading, Leviticus 11:3-6. 21:47 Among the animals whatever divides the hoof having cloven 21:53 hooves and chewing the cud, that you may eat. Nevertheless, these 21:57 you shall not eat among those that chew the cud or those that 22:01 have cloven hooves: The camel because it chews the cud but it 22:05 does not have cloven hooves is unclean to you, the rock hyrax 22:08 because it chews the cud but does not have cloven hooves is 22:12 unclean to you, the hare because it chews the cud but does not 22:16 have cloven hooves is unclean to you. 22:18 Thanks Ben. Now Sarah you're going to continue reading 22:21 Leviticus 11:7-10. 22:23 And the swine for it divides the hoof having cloven hooves yet 22:29 does not chew the cud is unclean to you. Their flesh you shall 22:34 not eat and their carcasses you shall not touch. They are 22:38 unclean to you. These you may eat of all that are in the 22:42 water: Whatever in the water has fins and scales whether in the 22:47 seas or in the rivers, that you may eat. But all in the seas or 22:52 in the rivers that do not have fins or scales, all that move in 22:57 the water or any living thing which is in the water, they are 23:02 an abomination to you. 23:05 Mmm. Okay. Thanks Sarah. Let's have a look up here on our board 23:08 You can see we have clean at the top and unclean down at the 23:13 bottom and with the clean we have fish because they have fins 23:17 and scales. And if we look down here at the shark, does the 23:21 shark have fins and scales? It has fins but doesn't have scales 23:25 on it. And with the unclean we have the pigs. Now I want to 23:29 show you the special hooves and Aunt Cecily is going to pop them 23:33 on the board. We have the cloven hoof and we have the uncloven 23:37 hoof. Now the pig, as it said, did have a cloven hoof, which 23:42 you think oh it might be clean, but actually the pig doesn't 23:45 chew the cud and what we read in the Bible is the animal had to 23:50 chew the cud and have a cloven hoof. So it had to have both. So 23:55 there are all the animals. It's good to know what we can eat and 23:59 what we can't eat isn't it? And God had very specific things in 24:04 mind. Because God made the animals, do you think he knows 24:08 what is best for us. Yes. He does. He designed each animal 24:11 for a specific purpose. But you know there are some animals that 24:14 God does not want us to eat that may not eat waste products but 24:18 we still need to know that we need to trust God because He 24:22 knows what is best for us. What we put in our mouths is really 24:26 important to God because what we eat affects who we are and how 24:29 our body functions. God wants us to be healthy for Him so we 24:33 can share Jesus with others. Our minds need to be clear so we 24:37 can be receptive to the Holy Spirit. Let's look at our memory 24:41 verse together in 1 Corinthians 10:31, and we'll 24:44 read that together. 24:48 You got that? Let's read that. 24:53 Therefore whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do all 25:00 to the glory of God. 25:02 Amen, Praise the Lord! Thank you boys and girls for joining us 25:06 today. Remember God loves you very much. He wants the best for 25:09 you. He wants you to be happy and healthy so we can serve Him 25:13 joyfully with all our hearts and minds. We have a seven day 25:16 devotional available that talks more in depth on what we have 25:20 learnt today. You can download them free. Here are some details 25:24 Hey boys and girls. Like Auntie Nat said, you can go onto our 25:28 website to access our daily devotionals at 25:31 www.adaywiththeking.com and while you're there you can 25:35 also check out Teddy's blog. He's posted some cool photos 25:39 of us making the show. He also talks about it as well. He even 25:44 posted about his visit to the vet. So hop online today. 25:48 When we read our Bibles we can learn so much about how God 25:53 wants us to live for Him. Because of this we want to 25:57 encourage you to read your Bibles, not only on the Sabbath 26:00 day, but every day. Auntie Nat can you tell us what we're going 26:04 to be studying about in our Bibles next week? 26:06 Sure. I'd love to do that. Next week is going to be a very 26:10 interesting week. After being in the same place for a year, the 26:15 Israelites leave Mount Sinai and they travel and we have got a 26:19 very interesting study that tells all about their travels. 26:23 So you bring your Bible back again next week and come and 26:27 learn about what happens. Auntie Cecily will we say our memory 26:30 verse together? 26:32 Yes you ready to say it all together children? Let's turn. 26:37 1 Corinthians 10:31-Therefore whether you eat or drink or 26:42 whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. 26:49 Children will we sing our blessing song to the boys and 26:50 girls at home? Okay let's just turn around so they can see you. 27:01 ¤May God bless you and keep you and fill your heart with love¤ 27:12 ¤May God guide and protect you and watch you from above¤ 27:23 ¤As Sabbath after Sabbath we greet the day of rest¤ 27:33 ¤The day the King of glory has sanctified and blessed¤ 27:43 ¤Good bye my friends till we meet again¤ 27:47 ¤For another day with the King¤ 27:52 Good bye. See you next Sabbath. 27:58 ¤ ¤ |
