00:01 Hello there! Happy Sabbath!
00:02 Come on in, we're about to meet with the King! 00:53 Hello, I'm Aunty Nat and I'm Aunty Cecily. 00:56 And all of us here are so glad that you have come back 00:59 to worship the King. Aren't we kids? Yes! 01:02 Aunty Nat, tell all the kids at home 01:04 why we're wearing crowns today. 01:05 Oh thanks Ben for reminding me. 01:07 I almost forgot, it's a crown day! 01:10 Boys and girls, today we're going to talk 01:11 and sing about crowns, so it's a special 01:14 Sabbath worship program. 01:15 Can you remind me who else I need to say "Hello" to? 01:18 Yes, it's Teddy! Oh Teddy, you've brought a 01:22 friend - what's her name? It's Lilly! 01:25 Oh look, so it is, it's Lilly! 01:28 Do you know what boys and girls, this is Lilly's 01:30 first time, so you need to let me know 01:32 that she behaves herself. 01:34 Aunt Cecily, can you please say a prayer for us. 01:37 Dear Father in Heaven, we thank You so much 01:40 that we can come together and open the Sabbath 01:44 and to worship You. 01:45 We pray that You would touch the hearts of all the 01:48 girls and boys around the world who are joining us at this time. 01:52 In Jesus name... Amen, Amen! Thanks Aunty Cecily. 01:56 How has your week been? Has God blessed you this week? 01:59 Think about what God has provided for you this past week. 02:03 When we really think about it, 02:04 we can find something to be thankful for. 02:06 What do you think Aunty Cecily? 02:08 Yes, just stopping, you know, to count our blessings 02:12 from God can just change our focus in life, 02:15 and help us to want to bless others. 02:17 Yes I agree. Let's have a look at our 02:20 blessing box now to see what we can do to 02:22 bless someone else on the Sabbath. 02:23 Matthew, you're going to read our blessing today. 02:25 Can you read that to the children at home. 02:28 "Read the Bible to someone!" 02:29 Aww, that's a good idea! 02:31 That would be especially good for someone who couldn't read. 02:34 Can you think of someone who you could read the Bible to? 02:37 Do you have any ideas, Matthew, 02:39 who you could read the Bible to? 02:41 Someone in the nursing home. 02:42 Oh, I think that would be a lovely idea Matthew. 02:45 And it's such a great way that 02:46 we can share Jesus' love to them. 02:48 I think they would be very blessed. 02:50 Aunt Cecily, I know you have a blessing to share with us, 02:53 and we have been SO blessed by all the things 02:56 you've been telling us about the second coming. 02:58 Yes, we've been on an amazing journey these past weeks, 03:02 haven't we - learning about Jesus' second coming. 03:06 We've learned about the place Jesus has prepared for us 03:10 in heaven and how we can prepare our hearts for His return. 03:15 And we've learned that His coming will be a noisy 03:17 worldwide event - no one will miss it! 03:21 We're not to be afraid because Jesus will keep us safe. 03:26 Jesus will resurrect the dead who loved and believed in Him. 03:30 And those of us alive will be able to meet the 03:33 Lord in the air! 03:35 We also spoke about Satan's attempt to deceive us 03:39 when he impersonates Jesus. 03:42 Don't be tricked by him, as Jesus will not touch the 03:47 ground when He returns. 03:49 Also, we don't know the hour or the day of Jesus' return, 03:54 only God the Father knows that, so don't be deceived 03:57 by people predicting a time for His return. 04:01 We also discovered that the Tree of Life, which was in the 04:04 Garden of Eden, will be in heaven, so we will be able to 04:09 eat from it and live eternally with our best friend, Jesus. 04:14 He loves us so much that He's going to give us a new body 04:18 free from the effects of sin. 04:20 Also, heaven will be free from sadness and pain. 04:25 Heaven will be a perfect happy and safe place to be. 04:29 Today, I want to talk to you about crowns, 04:33 just as we are going to talk about a crown in our Bible 04:37 study, so Jesus will place a crown on our heads 04:41 when we enter heaven. 04:43 James 1:12 says, "Blessed is the man who endures 04:48 temptation for when he has been approved, 04:51 he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has 04:55 promised to those who love Him. 04:58 What a beautiful promise! 05:01 Jesus longs to place a crown on your head, 05:05 so turn your heart to Him and believe in God's promises. 05:10 Aww, thanks Aunty Cecily, those were beautiful 05:12 pictures, weren't they? 05:14 Won't it be lovely when Jesus places those crowns 05:17 on our heads? 05:18 They'll be more beautiful than the ones that we have on. 05:21 You know what, I can see that Pastor Rick has snuck in 05:24 while we've been talking about that. 05:26 Thanks so much, Pastor Rick, for coming and joining 05:28 us in our worship time. 05:30 Lovely to be here and, looking out at you all, 05:33 what's with the crowns? Is it a crown day? Yes! 05:37 A special day about learning about crowns - how good is that! 05:40 Well there's a special song called, "Will There Be Any 05:43 Stars in My Crown," let's sing this one together. 06:33 Pastor Rick, can we please sing, "I Will Wear a Crown?" 06:36 I think that's a really good song to sing seeing 06:38 everyone has their lovely crowns on. 06:41 Jesus is going to give us a crown, 06:43 why don't we sing about that? 07:04 Sing it again! 07:28 Pastor Rick, can we please sing, "Give Your Heart to Jesus?" 07:32 Yeah, I think that's a great song to sing, 07:35 but before we sing it, I'm just thinking... 07:37 about the title of that song and how beautiful a title 07:41 that is because all the music we've been singing and 07:43 everyone who has been watching, 07:45 it's all about giving our heart to Jesus. 07:48 That's where we're coming to and this song 07:50 is a great way to finish that, so let's sing this 07:53 beautiful song, we're going to sing it through twice. 07:55 "Give Your Heart to Jesus." 08:30 And once more... 09:08 Thanks Pastor Rick! 09:09 Singing praises to God is just a lovely way to 09:12 tell Him that we love Him. 09:14 Are you enjoying Dr. John's stories each week? Yes! 09:20 Well I wonder what he has in store for us this time. 09:23 Let's go and see... 09:26 Hello boys and girls, I'm Dr. John and welcome 09:28 to story time! 09:30 And all the other boys and girls who are watching, 09:32 thank you so much for being with us today. 09:36 I want to tell you the story of Colin Winch. 09:38 You know, a lot of the business stories have been about 09:41 boats, but as we came into the 20th and the 21st century, 09:46 we discovered that it was much quicker and more efficient 09:51 to use an airplane. 09:53 And this is the plane that was our first mission plane; 09:58 in fact, its number was VH, which is the Australian number, 10:03 SDA, Seventh-day Adventist. 10:07 And this plane, this is just a model, was seen all over 10:11 New Guinea and Colin was training to be a nurse and he 10:15 really wanted to be pilot. 10:17 More than a pilot, he couldn't afford to buy a plane, 10:23 so he built one! 10:25 He got bits of timber and bits of canvas and in a garage 10:31 he started to make this plane. 10:33 Can you see the motor? 10:35 He couldn't afford a motor. 10:37 This will just be a glider. 10:40 Well, he had his friend, Doug, and they didn't know 10:43 who was going to fly it, but Doug won. 10:46 He was a bit fatter than Colin and he squeezed in, 10:50 and the plane didn't fly very well. 10:52 Then it was Colin's turn; he got on the plane 10:55 and they it behind a car and the car had to race across 11:00 the paddock, hopefully the plane would get into the air. 11:04 But, you know, the plane was very cheap and the wheels 11:08 are off and old pram and as it was racing across the paddock, 11:14 not flying, it hit the concrete edge of a cricket pitch, 11:19 and the wheels came off, and for one second 11:24 the plane flew far off the ground and crashed. 11:29 Well, they were not going to give up and so at this time 11:33 they said, "We will fly it without anybody in it, 11:36 and we will just tow it behind the car. 11:39 And the car took off and around it went - it was flying because 11:45 when they tried to do it before, the driver of the car was 11:49 playing around and he ran over some fresh cow poop, 11:54 and it flew up all over the pilots. 11:57 So now they were flying it without a pilot and when the 12:00 plane got into the air, it was flying around following the car, 12:04 but they didn't know how to stop the plane. 12:07 Every time the car slowed down, the plan was about to 12:11 crash into the back of the car, so he had to drive 12:14 fast again and finally he thought... 12:16 "The only way I can save my car is to swing wide 12:20 by this tree and let the tree stop the plane." 12:24 And that wasn't very good for the plane and smash, 12:29 and Colin had no plane, but you know, when he left 12:34 and graduated as a nurse, he went up to New Guinea 12:38 and there is "The Andrew Stewart VHSDA," and he became 12:45 such a good pilot, he was known as the "Textbook Pilot." 12:51 He did everything so carefully and he would fly into these 12:56 villages and they used to do something special. 13:00 Sometimes if there was no landing spot, 13:04 they would drop a bag out of 13:07 the airplane door - they took the door off. 13:11 And they would drop this off and drop-master, he was 13:14 very good at it and one day they were going to a village 13:19 just like this and he flew over and there's the plane, 13:24 and it's about to drop a bag, but there was a boy in the 13:28 village - a big strong boy, and he had a girlfriend and he 13:33 wanted to impress his girlfriend. 13:35 And so he looked at the plane coming over and just as they 13:40 threw the big bag out, it was heavy, "I'll show them 13:44 how strong I am and I'll impress my girlfriend." 13:48 And he raced out into the middle and he saw the bag coming 13:52 down - he caught it alright. 13:56 He caught it right in the chest and it knocked him flat! 14:00 It knocked him out; he had no wind in his body, 14:03 and they came and they pumped his arms and his legs, 14:06 "gasping hard" and finally he started to breathe. 14:09 I don't know how impressed his girlfriend was because 14:12 everybody was laughing at him and he never, ever 14:15 tried to catch it again! 14:18 You know "The Andrew Stewart" is no longer flying, 14:20 but it still flies in this model because it is a weathervane. 14:24 And every time the wind blows, it follows the wind, 14:28 and that is all that is left of "The Andrew Stewart." 14:31 Thank you boys and girls. Goodbye. 14:34 Hi boys and girls, welcome to our Bible study. 14:37 If you haven't got your Bibles ready yet, 14:39 go get them now so you can follow along with us. 14:41 Aunty Cecily, would you like to say a prayer 14:43 to open our study today? Yes. 14:45 Dear Father in Heaven... Thank You so much for Your Son, 14:49 Jesus and all that You have done for us. 14:52 And we pray that as we read Your Holy Word, 14:55 that you would put it in our hearts to want to follow 14:58 everything that You want us to. 15:01 Please bless the children at home and may we all 15:04 give our hearts to You. In Jesus name... Amen, Amen! 15:09 Now Anna, last Sabbath we studied about a man 15:11 who was on the run from King Saul, who was that? 15:14 David! Yes, it was David, and why 15:17 was David on the run? 15:18 Because Saul wanted to kill him. Yes, that's right. 15:21 Today, we're going to see what happens to David. 15:24 So Anna, would you like to please read 1 Samuel 26:1-2. 15:30 "Now the Ziphites came to Saul at Gibeah, 15:33 saying, "Is David not hiding in the hill of 15:36 Hachilah, opposite Jeshimon?" 15:41 Then Saul arose and went down to the Wilderness of Ziph, 15:45 having 3,000 chosen men of Israel with him, 15:49 to seek David in the Wilderness of Ziph." Thanks Anna. 15:53 So the Ziphites informed Saul of David's whereabouts, 15:58 and Saul's jealous heart rose again and he decided to 16:03 go after to David. 16:04 Now David finds out where Saul and his army are camping. 16:08 Matthew, can you please read 1 Samuel 26:7-8. 16:15 So David and Abishai came to the people by night; and there 16:20 Saul lay sleeping within the camp, with his spear 16:23 stuck in the ground by his head. 16:25 And Abner and the people lay all around him. 16:28 Then Abishai said to David, "God has delivered your 16:32 enemy into your hand this day. 16:34 Now therefore, please, let me strike him at once 16:36 with the spear, right to the earth; 16:38 and I will not have to strike him a second time!" 16:41 So here David is being given a second opportunity to take 16:44 Saul's life - David refuses to kill Saul. 16:48 Even though David was also anointed to be king, 16:51 he wanted to leave the whole matter in God's hands. 16:55 But you know what? While Saul was spending so much 16:58 time chasing David, he neglected 17:01 his responsibilities to his nation. 17:04 The Philistines took advantage of this and they 17:07 infiltrated Israel. Let's see what happens. 17:11 Aunt Cecily, can you please read 1 Samuel 28:5-6. 17:16 "When Saul saw the army of the Philistines, he was afraid, 17:21 and his heart trembled greatly. 17:23 And when Saul inquired of the Lord, the Lord did not answer 17:28 him, either by dreams or by Urim or by the prophets." 17:33 So Saul was very fearful and he inquired of God as to 17:38 what to do, but God didn't answer him. 17:40 Saul went and consulted a witch. 17:43 Now when Samuel was alive, he and Saul had driven 17:46 out all the witches and wizards from the land. 17:49 Now this witch had been living in secret because she didn't 17:53 want anyone to know that she was there. 17:57 Saul went in disguise and the witch was also worried 18:01 about her life. Let's see what Saul says to her. 18:03 Matthew, can you please read 1 Samuel 28:10-14. 18:10 "And Saul swore to her by the Lord, saying, 18:12 "As the Lord lives, no punishment shall come 18:15 upon you for this thing." 18:16 Then the woman said, "Whom shall I bring up for you?" 18:19 And he said, "Bring up Samuel for me." 18:21 When the woman saw Samuel, she cried out with a loud voice. 18:25 And the woman spoke to Saul, saying, "Why have you 18:28 deceived me? For you are Saul." 18:30 And the king said to her, "Do not be afraid. 18:33 What did you see?" 18:34 And the woman said to Saul, "I saw a spirit ascending 18:38 out of the earth." 18:40 So he said to her, "What is his form?" 18:42 And she said, "An old man is coming up and he is 18:45 covered with a mantle." 18:46 And Saul perceived that it was Samuel, and he stooped 18:51 with his face to the ground and bowed down." Thanks Matthew. 18:55 Now does a witch have a power 18:57 to raise someone from the dead? No. 18:59 No, only God can do that. 19:01 Do you know, he was our original Creator and He is 19:04 the only One that can re-create us. 19:07 So who was responsible for the spirit that came up? Satan. 19:11 Yeah, Satan was impersonating Samuel. 19:14 Let's look at our Bibles to check out a couple of things. 19:17 Bethany, can you please read Ecclesiastes 9:5-6. 19:25 "For the living know that they will die, 19:28 but the dead know nothing and they have no more reward, 19:31 for the memory of them is forgotten. 19:33 Also their love, their hatred, and their envy have now 19:36 perished. Nevermore will they have a share in anything 19:42 done under the sun." 19:43 So the Bible is telling us that when we die, you know nothing. 19:48 Everything in your mind ceases to exist. 19:51 So that means the dead cannot speak to us. 19:54 Kate, can you please read John 11:11-14. 20:06 "These things he said and after that, he said to them, 20:09 "Our friend Lazarus sleeps, but I go that I may wake him up. 20:14 Then His disciples said, "Lord, if he sleeps, he will get well." 20:18 However, Jesus spoke of his death, but they thought that 20:22 He was speaking about taking a rest in sleep. 20:25 Then Jesus said to them plainly, "Lazarus is dead." 20:29 So Jesus is explaining that death is a sleep. 20:32 Caleb, can you please read Job 7:9-10. 20:40 "As the cloud disappears and vanishes away, 20:44 so he who goes down to the grave does not come up. 20:48 He shall never return to his house, 20:51 nor shall his place know him anymore." Thanks Caleb. 20:55 So this is telling us that once you die, 20:58 the grave is where you stay; you don't go anywhere else. 21:02 Do we stay asleep forever? No! 21:06 Let's look at our memory verse today and read it together. 21:08 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18. 21:13 This one is a long one, you ready? 21:50 Wow! What a great promise! God is so good! 21:53 Now let's get back to our story! 21:56 Saul and his sons perished on the battlefield. 21:59 We are now going to go over to 2 Samuel, 22:02 and we are going to read what happens when David 22:04 finds out this news. 22:06 David in his response to this tragedy, 22:08 composes a song on his harp. 22:10 Matthew, can you read the last three verses of 22:13 that for us in 2 Samuel 1:25-26. 22:18 "How the mighty have fallen in the midst of the battle. 22:21 Jonathan was slain in your high places. 22:24 I am distressed for you, my brother Jonathan. 22:27 You have been very pleasant to me. 22:29 Your love to me was wonderful, surpassing 22:32 the love of women." Thanks Matthew. 22:34 So David valued his special friendship with Jonathan 22:38 even above the friendship and 22:40 the companionship of his own wives. 22:42 Let's look at our torch light, Mrs. White's writings, 22:45 to see what shines on that verse for us. 22:47 Kate, can you please read that for us. 22:49 This is a very special verse. 22:58 "Jonathan, by birth heir to the throne, yet knowing himself 23:01 set aside by the divine decree; to his rival the most 23:05 tender and faithful of friends, shielding David's life 23:08 at the peril of his own; steadfast at his father's side 23:12 through the dark days of his declining power and at his side 23:16 - falling at the last, the name of Jonathan is treasured in 23:19 heaven and it stands on earth a witness to the existence 23:24 and the power of unselfish love." 23:26 Aww, thanks Kate. 23:28 You know, Jonathan was a faithful and godly man, 23:31 and realized that David was of the rightful person 23:34 next in line to the throne. 23:36 Do you know what? God orchestrated David 23:38 and Jonathan's friendship so they could support one another 23:42 through those very turbulent and stressful years. 23:46 Now David was led by God to go up to the city of Hebron 23:49 which was in Judah - let's see what happens. 23:51 Bethany, can you please read 2 Samuel 2:4, our last verse. 23:56 "Then the men of Judah came and there they anointed David 24:01 king over the house of Judah, and they told David saying, 24:05 "The men of Jabesh Gilead were the ones who buried Saul." 24:10 Thank you. 24:11 So finally after ALL this time, we've been studying about 24:16 David the last couple of lessons and finally David 24:19 is anointed as king, but it was all done in God's timing, 24:23 and if you go over and have a look at our 24:25 "Kings and Prophets Chart," you can see at the top 24:28 there that Saul was the first king and now David 24:31 is the second king of Israel. 24:34 Thank you boys and girls for reading along with us. 24:36 We have a devotional available that goes into more depth 24:39 on what we studied today, here is how you can get that! 24:43 Hey boys and girls! Like Aunty Nat said, 24:46 you can download our devotionals free from our website. 24:53 Hey Nick, don't forget about Teddy! 24:56 Oh yes, while you're there, you can visit Teddy's blog. 24:59 He has posted some videos of his intense training for the show. 25:03 Boys and girls, we want to hear from you - send us an email 25:07 on how you're enjoying the show, so hop online today! 25:11 Thanks Nick and Sarah! 25:13 We want to encourage you to read your Bibles every day 25:17 so you can get to know Jesus as your friend. 25:20 That's why we've developed the daily devotionals 25:23 to help you to do that. 25:25 If you have any questions of any of the Bible studies, 25:29 you can contact us at the address on the screen. 25:33 Yes, we would love to hear from you and perhaps Aunty Cecily 25:37 when we spoke about blessing, earlier on about reading 25:40 the Bible to someone, the children could use those 25:43 studies as a guide to do that. 25:45 That's a great idea! 25:46 Aunty Nat, shall we go over our memory verse with the children? 25:50 Yes, let's do that. 25:51 Children, can we read that together? 26:30 What a beautiful promise! Isn't it. 26:33 Mia, we've nearly come to the end of our worship time, 26:36 what did you learn about the King today? 26:38 That Jesus wants to put crowns on our heads in heaven. 26:41 Yes, He certainly does, Jesus wants us 26:44 to all be in heaven with Him. 26:46 Aunty Cecily, do you think we're all ready to sing our 26:49 blessing song to the children at home? 26:51 I think so - would you like to turn around 26:52 and sing to the boys and girls at home? 27:00 May God bless you and keep you, 27:05 and fill your heart with love. 27:11 May God guide and protect you, 27:15 and watch you from above. 27:21 As Sabbath after Sabbath, 27:26 we greet the day of rest. 27:31 The day the King of glory 27:36 has sanctified and blessed. 27:41 Goodbye my friends, till we meet again, 27:46 for another day with the King. 27:52 Goodbye! See you next Sabbath! 28:06 I'm looking forward to going to heaven because 28:08 they'll be never-ending food. 28:15 I'm looking forward to going to heaven because 28:17 I'd get to see all the Bible characters. 28:24 I can't wait to get to heaven because 28:26 I'll be able to play with all the animals. |
