00:02 Hello There! Happy Sabbath!
00:03 Come on in! We're about to meet
00:05 with the King!
00:51 Hello, I'm Aunty Nat, and I'm Aunty Cecily!
00:54 We're so glad you have decided to join us for our worship.
00:57 Aunty Cecily, we have some children to say hello to
01:00 who join our worship time very regularly.
01:03 Yes, I'd like to say a BIG HELLO to Brunhilda and Walter
01:06 from South Africa... HELLO! Hi! Hello!
01:11 Wow, thanks Brunhilda and Walter for sending us
01:13 that amazing picture!
01:15 We definitely don't have giraffes in our country,
01:18 except in a zoo, but we do have bunnies,
01:21 and we can't forget to say hello to Teddy.
01:24 It's do good to have you back on the couch with us Teddy.
01:27 You're such a good boy.
01:28 Aunty Cecily, can you please say a prayer for us
01:30 to open our worship time?
01:32 Yes, I'd love to... Father in heaven,
01:35 Thank You so much for another Sabbath day.
01:37 Thank You for keeping us safe through the week,
01:40 and please bless all the children who are joining us
01:43 in worship today. In Jesus name... Amen, Amen.
01:47 Now Aunty Cecily, you have some amazing things
01:50 to share with us over the coming months...
01:52 Something about keys that will help us get ready
01:56 for the second coming of Jesus!
01:58 Yes, I'm so excited about all the wonderful things
02:01 we have to share.
02:03 Do you like getting gifts? Yes.
02:07 Now if I was to give you this gift and offer it to you,
02:11 but you refuse to accept it, will the gift become yours?
02:15 No.
02:16 So you'd have to accept this gift in order for this
02:19 gift to become yours, is that right? Yes. Okay.
02:23 So Jesus offers us some gifts to help us to get to heaven,
02:27 but we have to accept them and use them.
02:30 Mia, can you open our gift box and tell us what's inside?
02:34 A key.
02:36 Oh, and what does a key do?
02:37 Unlock a door.
02:39 Yes, that's right.
02:41 Now there's a label on the key, what does that label
02:43 tell us what the key is for?
02:45 Accept God's love.
02:47 Yes - so accepting God's love is like a key
02:50 that opens the door to heaven.
02:53 We've learned a lot about the love of God
02:55 during our worship times together.
02:57 Now can you turn the key tag over and tell us
03:00 what the text is?
03:01 John 3:16. Thanks Mia.
03:04 Matthew, could you please read John 3:16 for us from the Bible?
03:09 "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten
03:13 Son, that whoever believes in Him, shall not perish,
03:15 but have everlasting life." Thanks Matthew.
03:18 What a beautiful promise!
03:20 God loved us so much that He sent the most wonderful
03:24 Gift in the life and sacrifice of Jesus on our behalf,
03:28 so that we can have eternal life.
03:30 Romans 6:23 says that..."The wages of sin is death,
03:36 but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."
03:41 He couldn't have given us any greater gift,
03:44 but we have to accept that gift of eternal life.
03:48 The gift of eternal life is free.
03:50 We can't earn it but there are some things that God
03:54 needs us to do to prepare for His return.
03:57 These keys that we are going to talk about over
04:00 the coming weeks, will help us to unlock the treasures
04:04 of heaven to help us get ready for Jesus' return.
04:08 They are our keys to the kingdom.
04:11 Now each week, we will hang our keys on the wall
04:14 over there by the door as a reminder.
04:17 You know, everything God asks us to do, He promises us
04:22 the power to do it.
04:24 He only asks us to do things that are good for us.
04:28 Later in our Bible study, we're going to learn more about
04:32 King David who accepted God's love and offer of salvation,
04:37 and how God blessed his life and looked after him.
04:40 So as we spend time with the Kingly Sabbath,
04:43 let's ask God to give us willing hearts to accept
04:47 His great gift of love.
04:49 Oh, that's beautiful, thank you
04:51 Aunty Cecily, for sharing that with us.
04:52 I'm already looking forward to finding out
04:55 what next week's key is.
04:57 I think it might be time to praise God in song,
05:00 and we have Braedan here with us.
05:02 Thanks so much, Braedan, for coming and sharing
05:04 your music ability with us. Thanks Aunty Net.
05:06 Hi boys and girls!
05:08 Let's sing, "We Will Gather to Meet With the King"
05:48 Braedan, can we play, "Sing, The King has a
05:50 Treasure House?" We certainly can.
06:53 Braedan, can we please sing "Jesus Loves Me?"
06:56 I love that song, let's sing it together!
08:14 Thanks Braedan, it's so good to praise God in song.
08:18 Guess what? Dr. John is back with some wonderful stories!
08:23 Let's go and join him in his study.
08:26 Hello boys and girls, it's wonderful to be back with you.
08:30 And a special welcome to the boys and girls of Ireland,
08:34 way across the ocean, because this story started in
08:38 your country.
08:40 Three people, Bruce, Isidor, and Ida...
08:47 Bruce was rich - he was mega-rich, more money than
08:54 you and I would ever dream about.
08:56 In fact, he was so rich, he owned a company called
09:00 "The White Star Shipping Line," and he decided that he would
09:06 build the biggest, the fastest, the safest, the most fantastic
09:12 boat that had ever been built!
09:14 And it gradually took shape, and they called it, because they
09:18 wanted a BIG name, "TITANIC!"
09:22 And when the Titanic was ready to sail, they all got on board.
09:29 The richest people in the world were on first class,
09:33 and then there was second class and then there was
09:37 third class where a lot of poor people were.
09:40 And you know, when they built that boat, they said,
09:43 "It will never sink."
09:44 In fact, the newspapers reported, "No god can ever
09:49 sink this boat."
09:51 And they were so confident, that they built the boat
09:54 with not enough life boats for all the passengers.
10:00 And so away it sailed.
10:01 And I'm sure many of you know the story...
10:04 In the middle of the night, it hit an iceberg and it
10:10 wasn't long before they realized that the Titanic,
10:13 that beautiful brand new boat, its first trip, it started
10:18 to go nose-down in the water, and they realized
10:22 it was going to sink.
10:24 Now Isidor - his name was Isidor Straus, he was
10:31 very rich but he was very much in love with his wife,
10:36 and they had been married for many, many years...
10:40 And her name was "Ida," and they were standing on
10:45 the boat deck and the rule always was "Women and
10:51 children first and then the men."
10:53 And they were putting all the women and all the children
10:56 on the boat and Mr. Isidor Straus - he was not getting
11:02 on the boat because he knew the rules.
11:06 And they said to his wife, "Step in," and then they said,
11:10 "Mr. Straus, we'll find room for you."
11:12 He said, "I am not going on the lifeboat while there are
11:16 women and children."
11:18 And Mrs. Straus stepped out of the boat, out of the lifeboat
11:22 and she went back to her husband's side,
11:25 and she said something that everybody in the lifeboat
11:29 heard and remembered for a long time afterwards.
11:32 You know what she said?
11:34 "My darling, we have been married for many, many years,
11:40 and I'm not going to leave you now."
11:43 She was actually pronouncing her death sentence.
11:48 And they stayed and the last people saw of them,
11:51 they were standing on the deck as the boat started to sink
11:55 with their arms around each other.
11:58 Bruce, he, the owner of the boat... you know what he did?
12:06 He jumped onto a lifeboat and for the rest of his life,
12:11 he was called, "Brute Ismay."
12:15 You know, he had many treasures and I have got one of his
12:19 treasures here today.
12:22 This is a clock and let me tell you - it is worth
12:25 thousands and thousands of dollars,
12:28 and somebody has lent it to me today.
12:31 And if you look on the back, written on the gold,
12:34 it says, "Bruce Ismay."
12:37 His treasures were very, very important to him.
12:41 And he was so desperate, that he would live with his
12:44 treasures, he broke all the rules and he was hated
12:48 for the rest of his life.
12:50 You know, God made the first lifeboat with Noah.
12:53 God designed it, Noah built it and only
12:57 eight people were saved in the world.
13:00 And He has given us a lifeboat because He sent His Son
13:03 down to be the one who should die in order for us to be saved.
13:09 Fifteen hundred people died in the Titanic.
13:13 Most of them died in the freezing water.
13:16 It was a terrible event, but God gave His Son
13:19 and He is the lifeboat of heaven.
13:22 He died for us and I'm looking forward to seeing Him,
13:26 are you? I know you are. Thank you.
13:30 Hi boys and girls, welcome to our Bible study.
13:33 If you haven't got your Bible, go get it now so you can
13:35 follow along with us.
13:36 Caleb, can you please say a prayer for us
13:38 before we commence our study.
13:40 Dear Father... Thank You for our Bibles. Be with the children
13:43 who are joining us at home to understand
13:46 what we are reading today.
13:47 In Jesus name... Amen, Amen, thank you Caleb.
13:50 Bethany, can you remember where we left off
13:53 last time we met?
13:54 It was when David became king.
13:56 Yes it was, wasn't it?
13:57 Well today, we're going to continue our study
14:01 about what happened during David's leadership
14:04 as king of Israel and you're going to start us off
14:07 Erin - can you start off in 2 Samuel 2:8-9 and 11.
14:14 "But Abner, the son of Ner, commander of Saul's army,
14:18 took Ishbosheth the son of Saul,
14:21 and brought him over to Mahanaim;
14:24 And he made him king over Gilead, and over the Ashurites,
14:27 over Jezreel, over Ephraim, over Benjamin,
14:31 and over all Israel.
14:33 And the time that David was king in Hebron over the
14:37 house of Judah was seven years and six months."
14:40 Hmm, good reading, thank you Erin.
14:42 So the Bible is telling us that David was King of Judah
14:46 down here at Hebron.
14:48 Aunty Cecily, you can just quickly point at that for us.
14:50 But the rest of Israel was under the reign of King Ishbosheth
14:54 which is up there at Mahanaim.
14:57 Now Abner, who used to be the commander over King Saul's army,
15:02 knew that David was anointed to be the next king,
15:05 but Abner had a grudge against David and he
15:08 made Saul's son, Ishbosheth king
15:11 for his own personal advancement and power.
15:14 This resulted in a longstanding war against King David
15:18 and his commander Joab, and King Ishbosheth,
15:22 and his commander Abner.
15:25 Now Caleb, I'm going to get you to read 2 Samuel 3:2-5,
15:31 and we're going to find out what's happening in
15:33 David's life during this time.
15:35 "Samuel born unto David in Hebron; his first son was
15:39 Amnon, of Ahinoam the Jezreelitess;
15:42 his second, Chileab, of Abigail the widow of Nabal
15:45 the Carmelite; the third Absalom the son of Maacah
15:49 the daughter of Talmai king of Geshur;
15:51 the fourth, Adonijah the son of Haggith;
15:54 the fifth, Shephatiah the son of Abital;
15:59 and the sixth, Ithream, by David's wife Eglah.
16:04 These were born to David in Hebron."
16:07 Wow, thanks Caleb, there's a lot of tricky names
16:10 in there - well done!
16:11 So the Bible is telling us that David had six wives
16:15 and six sons, and if we were to continue to read,
16:19 the Bible tells us that David also got his first
16:21 wife, Michal, back which brought David's wives to seven.
16:25 Are you supposed to have that many wives?
16:28 No, and we're going to study about the result of that
16:31 in a later study.
16:32 So as a result of the in-fighting between the two
16:35 army commanders, King Ishbosheth was murdered
16:39 by his own men and David was anointed king over
16:43 all of Israel and the Bible tells us that David and his men
16:47 conquered Jebus which is 32 kilometers north of Hebron
16:51 and renamed it "Jerusalem."
16:53 Can you just show that to us Aunty Cecily?
16:56 Okay, Bethany, you're going to continue our reading
16:59 in 2 Samuel 5:10-11.
17:03 "So David went on and became great and the Lord God
17:08 of hosts was with him.
17:10 Then Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David,
17:14 and cedar trees and carpenters and masons,
17:16 and they built David a house."
17:19 So David, through God blessing him, became great
17:22 throughout the land of Israel to the point that another
17:25 king from another land wanted to help build his palace.
17:29 Now, we're going over to a new book in the Bible and that's in
17:33 1 Chronicles, and for the boys and girls at home,
17:37 1 Chronicles has the same stories as 2 Samuel,
17:40 so we're going to flip back and forth, so make sure you
17:42 keep your bookmark in 2 Samuel.
17:45 David consulted with the leaders and gathered all the priests
17:50 and Levites and the people of Israel
17:52 in preparation to speak to them.
17:54 Let's see what he says.
17:55 Sophie, are you able to read for me, 1 Chronicles 13:3-4.
18:02 "And let us bring the ark of our God back to us;
18:05 for we have not enquired at it since the day of Saul.
18:08 And all the assembly said that they would do so;
18:11 for the thing was right in the eyes of all the people."
18:13 Thanks Sophie.
18:15 So David wanted to bring the
18:16 Ark of the Covenant to Jerusalem.
18:19 Let's see where they go to get it.
18:20 Matthew, can you read 1 Chronicles 13:6.
18:24 "And David and all Israel went up to Baalah,
18:27 to Kirjath Jearim, which belonged to Judah, to bring
18:31 up from there the ark of God the Lord, who dwells
18:35 between the cherubim, where His name
18:38 is proclaimed." Thanks Matthew.
18:40 Do you remember that we previously studied that the ark
18:44 was stolen and returned to the Israelites - it was taken to a
18:48 place called Kirjath Jearim.
18:50 Well that is where David is now retrieving it from.
18:54 So the ark has been there a very long time.
18:57 Can you show that to us, Aunty Cecily. Thank you.
19:01 Kirjath Jearim is about 14 kilometers from Jerusalem.
19:05 Okay, Mia, can you read 1 Chronicles 13:7-8, please.
19:10 "So they carried the ark of God on a new cart
19:13 from the house of Abinadab, and Uzza and Ahio drove the cart.
19:20 Then David and all Israel played music before God with
19:24 all their might, with strings on harps,
19:27 and on stringed instruments, on tambourines,
19:32 on cymbals, and with trumpets."
19:34 Okay, Aunty Cecily, can you read verse 9 to 10.
19:38 "And when they came to Chidon's threshing floor, Uzza put out
19:43 his hand to hold the ark, for the oxen stumbled.
19:47 Then the anger of the Lord was aroused against Uzza,
19:51 and He struck him because he put his hand to the ark;
19:55 and he died there before God."
19:58 So Uzza died for touching the ark.
20:02 David was so shocked and overwhelmed at the event
20:06 of Uzza dying that David got so scared - he left the ark
20:10 at the home of Obed-Edom. Can you point that out?
20:14 That's approximately where it was. Thank you.
20:17 During the next three months, verse 14 tells us
20:21 that the family of Obed-Edom was blessed
20:24 by having the ark with them.
20:26 Also during this time, David realized he had moved the
20:30 ark the wrong way - let's read about it.
20:33 Erin, can you please read 1 Chronicles 15:4, then 12-13.
20:41 "Then David assembled the children
20:43 of Aaron and the Levites...
20:45 He said to them, "You are the heads of the fathers'
20:48 houses of the Levites; sanctify yourselves, you and your
20:52 brethren that you may bring up the ark of the Lord God
20:56 of Israel to the place I have prepared for it.
21:00 For because you did not do it the first time, the Lord
21:02 our God broke out against us, because we did not consult
21:06 Him about the proper order."
21:07 So the ark was to be moved by the Levites as God had
21:11 stipulated in the Book of Numbers.
21:13 And they were to sanctify themselves beforehand
21:17 meaning they were to seek forgiveness from God
21:19 as the Ark of the Covenant was holy.
21:22 That's why Uzza died because he touched the holy ark.
21:26 When he had sins, he had not confessed to God.
21:31 Let's see what else the Levites had to do.
21:34 Caleb, can you read 1 Chronicles 15:15.
21:38 "And the children of the Levites bore the ark of God
21:42 on their shoulders, by its poles, as Moses
21:45 had commanded according to the word of the Lord." Thanks Caleb!
21:49 So the Levites were not to touch the ark, even when wrapped.
21:53 It was to be carried with the poles - you can see the
21:56 poles there underneath the wrappings which were threaded
22:00 through the sides of the ark and they had to be
22:02 carried on their shoulders.
22:04 Okay, we are now going back to the Book of 2 Samuel,
22:08 so go back to your bookmark and Bethany,
22:10 I want you to read for me, please, 2 Samuel 6:13-15.
22:19 "And so it was, when those bearing the ark of the Lord
22:22 had gone six paces, that he sacrificed
22:25 oxen and fatted sheep.
22:27 Then David danced before the Lord with all his might;
22:30 and David was wearing a linen ephod.
22:32 So David and all the house of Israel brought up the ark
22:36 of the Lord with shouting and the sound of the trumpet."
22:39 It's interesting that David is wearing a linen ephod.
22:43 Let's have a look at our torch light, Mrs. White's
22:46 writings, to see what they shine
22:49 on those verses that we've just read.
22:52 Sophie, can you read that for us.
22:59 "The king had laid aside his royal robes and attired
23:02 himself in a plain linen ephod such as worn by the priests.
23:06 In this holy service, he would take his place as before God
23:11 on an equality with his subjects.
23:13 Upon that day, Jehovah was to be adored.
23:16 He was to be the sole object of reverence."
23:18 Thanks Sophie.
23:20 David was showing his humbleness before the people
23:23 as he wanted them to know that the event of bringing
23:27 the Ark of the Covenant to Jerusalem was all about God.
23:31 He laid his kingly robes and crown aside and dressed
23:34 simply and humbly before the people.
23:37 Let's go now back to 1 Chronicles to our
23:41 memory verse - we've got it marked there boys and girls.
23:44 Can you do that? And we're going to read
23:47 a Psalm or a song that David sang in thanksgiving to God
23:52 after the ark was placed in the tent that he had prepared
23:56 for it in Jerusalem.
23:57 So this is a praise memory verse.
24:00 Boys and girls, this is found in 1 Chronicles 16:8-10.
24:04 Let's read it together...
24:27 It's so good to praise God!
24:30 Thank you boys and girls for reading along with us.
24:32 We have a devotional available that goes into
24:35 more depth than what we studied today.
24:37 Here's how you can get that...
24:39 Hey boys and girls! As Aunty Net said,
24:42 you can get your own devotionals.
24:43 Yes, you can download them free from our website at:
24:45 adaywiththeking.com
24:47 And Anna, we can't forget to tell the kids
24:49 to check out Teddy's Blog.
24:50 We have some behind the scene photos of filming the program.
24:54 Yes, and we also have some photos of Teddy going on his
24:57 annual visit to the vet.
24:58 We would love to hear where
24:59 in the world you are watching the program from,
25:01 so drop us a line and let us know.
25:03 Get a pen and write down our email address now:
25:06 dwk@3abnaustralia.org.au
25:10 So hop online today!
25:13 Thanks Kate and Dana!
25:14 Boys and girls, we'd love to hear from you,
25:16 so make sure you drop us an email to say hello.
25:19 Aunty Net, can you tell us what we're going to study
25:22 about next week?
25:23 Yes, next Sabbath we are going to study about what you
25:26 do when you make a big mistake.
25:28 We have a very interesting story to read about that,
25:31 so make sure you come back next week.
25:34 Aunty Cecily, shall we go over the memory verse
25:36 that we learned in our Bible study today?
25:38 Yes, children are you ready to do that?
25:40 Let's say it all together.
26:07 Well children, we've come to the end of another
26:10 worship time with the King.
26:12 Matthew, what did you learn about the King today?
26:15 That God wants us to accept His free gift of love.
26:18 Yes, He certainly does.
26:20 Aunty Nat, do you think we're
26:21 ready to sing our goodbye song
26:23 to the boys and girls at home? Yes, let's do that.
26:25 Children, can you turn around and let's sing to the
26:27 children at home.
26:34 May God bless you and keep you,
26:39 And fill your heart with love.
26:44 May God guide and protect you,
26:49 and watch you from above.
26:55 As Sabbath after Sabbath,
27:00 We greet the day of rest,
27:05 The day the King of glory
27:10 has sanctified and blessed.
27:15 Goodbye my friend till we meet again,
27:20 For another day with the King.
27:26 Goodbye! See you next Sabbath!
27:36 My favorite story is in the Bible is about Jesus
27:40 because He loves children.
27:46 My favorite Bible story is David because
27:48 how he trusted and had lots of faith
27:50 in God through all the tough times.
27:54 My favorite story is Ruth because she was brave
27:57 to follow Naomi to a foreign town.
