00:02 Hello there, happy Sabbath. Come on in.
00:04 We're about to meet with the King.
00:52 Good day. I'm Aunty Nat.
00:53 And I'm Aunty Cecily.
00:55 We are so glad, you've decided to join us
00:57 in our worship time with the King.
00:59 How's your week been?
01:01 Good!
01:02 Aunty Nat? Yes.
01:04 I went to Sydney and played some basketball.
01:05 Oh, that sounds wonderful, Jeremiah.
01:07 Did you enjoy yourself?
01:08 Yes. Oh, that's terrific.
01:10 Now, kids, who else do we have to say hello to?
01:14 Teddy! Teddy.
01:15 Hello, Teddy.
01:17 I think he's asleep, boys and girls.
01:19 He's such a good boy.
01:20 Now Janina, can you say a prayer for us
01:23 to open our worship time?
01:25 Dear Jesus, thank You for the Sabbath.
01:28 Please send a blessing to the boys and girls at home.
01:33 In Jesus' name, amen.
01:35 Amen. Thank you, Janina.
01:36 That was a beautiful little prayer.
01:39 Aunty Cecily, do we have another key to the kingdom
01:41 to talk about today?
01:43 We sure do.
01:44 And I'm going to ask Caleb,
01:46 if he'd like to open our gift box
01:47 and find out what our key to the kingdom is today.
01:52 Get to know God.
01:54 And what's the text on the other side?
01:56 John 17:3.
01:58 Thanks, Caleb.
01:59 Matthew, could you read that to us from the Bible?
02:03 "And this is eternal life, that they may know You,
02:07 the only true God,
02:08 and Jesus Christ whom You have sent."
02:13 Thanks, Matthew.
02:14 This text tells us that knowing God
02:17 and Jesus Christ, His Son,
02:19 is an important key to the kingdom of heaven.
02:23 Now, how do we get to know God?
02:25 You know, nature points to an amazing creator.
02:29 And the Bible tells us about
02:31 who this Creator is a loving God.
02:34 Every time Aunty Nat gives us a study from the Bible,
02:38 we learn more about God, don't we?
02:40 Yes.
02:42 In the Bible,
02:43 the clearest information about what God is like
02:46 is contained in the life and sayings of Jesus.
02:49 Jesus tells us in John 14:9,
02:52 that if we have seen Him,
02:54 we have seen the Father.
02:57 In other words, knowing Jesus is to know His Father.
03:02 Also, we must know Jesus personally,
03:04 not just know about Him
03:06 if we're going to be happy living
03:07 with Him for eternity.
03:10 Caleb, what are some ways you can get to know Jesus?
03:13 Read about Him in the Bible.
03:15 Yes, reading the Bible
03:17 is a good way to get to know Jesus.
03:19 What's another way, Matthew?
03:20 You can pray.
03:22 Yes, that's a good way to
03:23 because we're talking to God like to a friend.
03:26 And we need to listen
03:28 when He speaks to us through our conscience.
03:30 So as we spend time with the King this Sabbath,
03:33 don't forget to pray and study the Bible,
03:36 especially the parts about Jesus,
03:39 and enjoy God's created works in nature.
03:42 This will help you to get to know God
03:44 who'll never let you down.
03:46 And He can become your best friend.
03:49 Thanks, Aunty Cecily.
03:51 We are learning so much from our keys to the kingdom.
03:54 But I can see that Braedan has just arrived.
03:57 Thanks, Braedan, for coming to share your musical talent
04:00 with us.
04:01 Thanks, Aunty Nat. It's good to be here.
04:02 Hi, boys and girls, let's sing the song,
04:04 "When We All Get to Heaven."
04:08 Sing the wondrous love of Jesus
04:12 Sing His mercy and His grace
04:16 In the mansions bright and blessed
04:21 He'll prepare for us a place
04:25 When we all get to heaven
04:29 What a day of rejoicing that will be!
04:33 When we all see Jesus
04:38 We'll sing and shout the victory
04:44 Braedan, can we please sing,
04:46 "The King has a Treasure House?"
04:47 We certainly can.
04:53 The King has a treasure house of promises
04:57 Gifts from heaven above
05:02 In His word are many, many promises
05:06 Offered us in love
05:09 God gives us courage to repent
05:14 And turn away from every sin
05:18 He gives us wisdom, faith, and trust
05:22 And grow to follow Him
05:26 The King has a treasure house of promises
05:31 Promises for you and me
05:35 In His word are many, many promises
05:39 To give us the victory
05:43 To give us the victory
05:45 Victory!
05:50 Braedan, can we please sing, "More about Jesus?"
05:52 That's a great song. Let's sing it together.
05:58 More about Jesus I would know
06:02 More of His grace to others show
06:06 More of His saving fullness see
06:10 More of His love who died for me
06:14 More, more about Jesus
06:18 More, more about Jesus
06:22 More of His saving fullness see
06:26 More of His love who died for me
06:31 Thanks, Braedan.
06:33 I love praising the Lord in song.
06:35 And now it's time to catch up with Dr. John
06:38 and enjoy another one
06:39 of his very interesting stories.
06:43 Hello, boys and girls.
06:44 Thank you for coming back and joining me again.
06:47 And I want to say a special welcome
06:50 to the boys and girls, and moms and dads in England,
06:53 because that's where the story happened.
06:57 You know, dogs are trained to do different things
07:01 and some of them are very, very smart.
07:03 I see a dog who comes to church.
07:06 And he is a Seeing Eye dog.
07:11 And I've seen dogs, it is just in their instinct,
07:15 when they see sheep or ducks,
07:17 they run out and they run them up.
07:21 And dogs are trained to do all sorts of things, some hunt.
07:25 There's one dog that is so fast,
07:29 it is the fastest dog in the world
07:31 called a greyhound.
07:33 And they are programmed,
07:35 the way they are bred
07:36 and the way they are brought up,
07:39 is when they see a rabbit,
07:42 they have to chase it, catch it, and kill it.
07:48 So that when they train greyhounds,
07:49 they normally try and use a toy rabbit,
07:52 and it skids around a track and they just goes so fast.
07:57 And when they get a rabbit,
08:00 ta-ra rabbit.
08:02 Well, one day, people who lived in England in Warwickshire,
08:07 they called a police, they said there is a strange noise
08:11 coming from a shed in the field.
08:14 And the police went and they stood outside
08:16 and they heard.
08:23 They thought there's an animal in there,
08:24 so it was locked.
08:27 And they broke up in the lock.
08:29 And inside was a greyhound,
08:33 starving,
08:35 it had been abused,
08:36 that means badly treated,
08:39 hungry, thirsty and terrified,
08:44 quivering in shock and try to hide.
08:47 And they took it
08:48 to the animal shelter and they washed it.
08:51 And it was so scared of people.
08:55 But the dog,
08:57 they called her Jasmine had a talent.
09:01 One day they brought in a fox.
09:06 And a fox and a greyhound are real natural enemies.
09:11 Do they look like enemies?
09:13 She went to the fox
09:15 and she went and licked it.
09:18 And laid on next to it,
09:20 and the fox
09:22 thought this is good,
09:24 cuddled up,
09:25 and they became the best of friends.
09:28 Well, it wasn't just foxes, along came a little deer,
09:33 frozen and almost dead in a field.
09:37 It was unconscious, and they brought it in
09:39 and Jasmine said,
09:40 "Hello, someone for me to look after."
09:44 And she licked it.
09:45 And she warmed it
09:46 and cuddled up next to it.
09:49 And she became the mother
09:51 to every animal
09:53 that was brought into the sanctuary.
09:55 Now, four badgers,
09:59 five foxes
10:02 and there were deers,
10:05 11 little baby deers,
10:08 and 15 rabbits.
10:12 Now that was the test
10:14 because greyhounds are programmed
10:16 to eat rabbits.
10:18 And in came a rabbit.
10:20 We've got a rabbit here today, his name is Teddy.
10:22 Up here come, Teddy.
10:24 Teddy is a wonderful pet
10:26 and he loves being scratched behind the ears.
10:30 And when Jasmine saw
10:33 the rabbit, they thought here it goes,
10:35 but she licked the rabbit and she cuddled it.
10:39 And you know the rabbit wouldn't leave her side.
10:44 You know,
10:46 it is wonderful that God programs into animals
10:50 to look after their young.
10:52 But Jesus in the Bible,
10:54 He called Himself
10:57 an animal.
10:59 I wonder whether you know what it was.
11:01 It was a bird.
11:03 And he likened himself to a mother hen.
11:08 Have you seen mother hens put their wings out,
11:11 and the little chickens get underneath?
11:13 They keep them warm.
11:15 And Jesus walked into Jerusalem.
11:17 And He looked at all the city and all the people.
11:21 And He started to cry,
11:23 because He knew that they were not accepting Him
11:26 as the Messiah, the King of heaven.
11:29 And He said, just like a mother hen
11:33 would have had her chickens under her wings,
11:36 I would have loved you.
11:38 But He died for us.
11:40 And He is greater than any mother hen
11:43 because He has saved every one of you,
11:47 and me, and everybody.
11:50 He loves us.
11:52 Thank you, boys and girls.
11:55 Hi, boys and girls. Welcome to our Bible study.
11:57 If you haven't got your Bibles ready yet,
11:59 go get them now,
12:00 so you can follow along with us.
12:02 Aunty Cecily, can you please say a prayer for us
12:04 before we begin our study?
12:05 Yes.
12:07 Dear, Heavenly Father, thank You so much
12:08 for all Your love toward us.
12:11 And we just pray that You would grant us
12:13 Your Holy Spirit in our minds and hearts.
12:16 We can understand the things that we read.
12:19 And please grant a special blessing
12:21 to the children at home who are joining us.
12:24 In Jesus' name, amen. Amen.
12:27 Now, Caleb,
12:28 do you remember what we studied about last Sabbath?
12:30 The events that happened on Mount Carmel.
12:32 And whose sacrifice did God accept?
12:34 Elijah's. Elijah's, yes.
12:36 And today, we're going to find out
12:39 who was the person to take Elijah's place.
12:41 But before we look at that,
12:43 let's see what those kings were up to.
12:46 Now, King Ahab,
12:47 he didn't change from his wicked ways
12:49 after witnessing the miracle on Mount Carmel.
12:53 And do you know what?
12:54 After 22 years of rule, he died in battle.
12:57 Let's read about his son, King Ahaziah.
13:01 And I'm going to ask Aunty Cecily,
13:02 to show us where he is
13:04 on the chart of our chart of kings.
13:06 Thank you.
13:08 Abigail, can you please read 1 Kings 22:52-53?
13:14 "He did evil in the sight of the Lord,
13:16 and walked in the ways of his father
13:18 and in the ways of his mother
13:20 and in the way of Jeroboam the son of Nebat,
13:24 who had made Israel sin.
13:28 For he served Baal and worshiped him,
13:31 and provoked the Lord God of Israel to anger,
13:34 according to all that his father had done."
13:38 So there was still no change in the spiritual leadership
13:41 in the northern kingdom of Israel.
13:43 Let's now look at the southern kingdom
13:45 in Judah in 2 Chronicles.
13:47 A couple of Sabbaths ago,
13:49 we read that King Asa was a good king,
13:52 and he reigned for 41 years.
13:54 After he died,
13:56 his son Jehoshaphat took his place.
13:58 Can you just show us where King Jehoshaphat
14:01 is on the southern tribe of Judah?
14:03 Thank you very much. Okay.
14:06 Now, Caleb, you're going to read 2 Chronicles 17:3-4.
14:11 "Now the Lord was with Jehoshaphat,
14:13 because he walked in the former ways
14:15 of his father David,
14:17 he did not seek the Baals,
14:19 but sought the God of his father,
14:21 and walked in His commandments
14:23 and not according to the acts of Israel."
14:25 So Jehoshaphat was also a good king.
14:28 Jehoshaphat was also a faithful king,
14:31 as he sent the Levites out to teach the people of Judah
14:35 about God's laws.
14:37 If we were to read on,
14:39 God blessed Jehoshaphat with much wealth.
14:41 Now something happened and let's see what that was.
14:44 Bethany, can you please read
14:46 2 Chronicles 20:1, 3-4?
14:51 "It happened after this that the people of Moab
14:54 with the people of Ammon,
14:55 and others with them besides the Ammonites,
14:58 came to battle against Jehoshaphat.
15:01 And Jehoshaphat feared,
15:03 and set himself to seek the Lord,
15:04 and proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah.
15:09 So Judah gathered together to ask help from the Lord,
15:12 and from all the cities of Judah
15:14 they came to seek the Lord."
15:15 Thanks, Bethany.
15:17 So the Ammonites and the Moabites
15:20 decided to attack Judah,
15:22 and the king
15:23 and the people of Judah sought God.
15:26 God answered through a man named Jahaziel.
15:29 Let's see what God says.
15:31 Sophie, can you read 2 Chronicles 20:17?
15:35 "You will not need to fight in this battle.
15:38 Position yourselves,
15:40 stand still and see the salvation of the Lord,
15:42 who is with you, O Judah and Jerusalem!
15:46 Do not fear or be dismayed,
15:48 tomorrow go out against them,
15:50 for the Lord is with you."
15:52 Okay, let's read part of that verse 15
15:55 as a memory verse,
15:56 and let's read it together.
15:58 You ready?
16:00 "Do not be afraid nor dismayed
16:03 because of this great multitude,
16:06 for the battle is not yours, but God's."
16:10 Wow, do you know
16:11 that is a very powerful memory verse
16:13 that we can also claim?
16:15 We can depend on God to fight our battles for us.
16:20 Okay, Matthew,
16:21 can you please read 2 Chronicles 20:22, 24?
16:26 "Now when they began to sing and to praise,
16:29 the Lord set ambushes
16:31 against the people of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir,
16:36 who had come against Judah, and they were defeated.
16:40 So when Judah came to a place overlooking the wilderness,
16:44 they looked toward the multitude,
16:46 and there were their dead bodies,
16:48 fallen on the earth.
16:49 No one had escaped."
16:52 So the people of Judah went out to battle praising God
16:55 and God caused the enemy to fight against each other.
17:00 And by the time Judah got to the battlefield,
17:02 the enemy had already perished.
17:05 God fought their battle for them.
17:08 Okay, we are now going to find out
17:10 who Elijah's successor was.
17:12 We need to go back to 1 Kings.
17:14 And, Mia, you're going to read for us,
17:17 1 Kings 19:19.
17:21 "So he departed from there,
17:23 and found Elisha the son of Shaphat,
17:26 who was plowing
17:27 with twelve yoke of oxen before him,
17:30 and he was with the twelfth.
17:33 Then Elijah passed by him
17:36 and threw his mantle on him."
17:39 So Elisha was working on his father's farm
17:41 when Elijah found him.
17:43 Elisha's family were one of the few
17:46 that had not gone into Baal worship
17:48 but worshiped God alone.
17:50 They knew about Elijah.
17:51 So when he put his cloak on Elisha's shoulders,
17:55 Elisha knew that God was calling him.
17:58 Now the Prophet Samuel set up and Elijah reestablished
18:02 and continue to work of training the young men
18:05 in the School of the Prophets.
18:07 There were three of them that we know of.
18:09 And it was while Elijah and Elisha were traveling
18:12 between the schools that something happened.
18:15 Aunty Cecily, can you please read 2 Kings 2:2?
18:20 "Then Elijah said to Elisha,
18:23 'Stay here, please,
18:24 for the Lord has sent me on to Bethel.'
18:28 But Elisha said,
18:30 'As the Lord lives,
18:32 and as your soul lives,
18:34 I will not leave you!'
18:35 So they went down to Bethel.'
18:39 " So as Elijah and Elisha left the School of the Prophets
18:42 at Gilgal to go to the school at Bethel,
18:45 Elijah did not want Elisha to continue with him,
18:48 but Elisha refused to leave Elijah.
18:51 The scenario happened two more times,
18:54 until they came to the Jordan River.
18:56 Abigail, can you please read 2 Kings 2:7-8?
19:02 "And fifty men of the sons of the prophets went
19:05 and stood facing them at a distance,
19:08 while the two of them stood by the Jordan.
19:11 Now Elijah took his mantle, rolled it up,
19:14 and struck the water,
19:15 and it was divided this way
19:17 and that, so that the two of them
19:20 crossed over on dry ground."
19:22 So God divided the Jordan River,
19:25 so Elijah and Elisha could cross to the other side.
19:29 Caleb, can you please read 2 Kings 2:9-10?
19:35 "And so it was, when they had crossed over,
19:38 that Elijah said to Elisha,
19:40 "Ask! What may I do for you,
19:42 before I am taken away from you?"
19:44 Elisha said, "Please let a double portion of your spirit
19:47 be upon me."
19:49 So he said, 'You have asked for a hard thing.
19:51 Nevertheless, if you see me when I am taken from you,
19:55 it shall be so for you,
19:57 but if not, it shall not be so.' "
20:00 Wow!
20:01 So Elisha knew,
20:02 if he was to carry on the work of Elijah,
20:04 he would need a double portion of his spirit to help him.
20:08 Elijah informed him,
20:10 if he saw him be taken up to heaven,
20:13 then his request would be granted.
20:15 Let's see what happens.
20:17 Bethany, can you please read 2 Kings 2:11-12?
20:22 "Then it happened,
20:23 as they continued on and talked,
20:24 that suddenly a chariot of fire appeared with horses of fire,
20:28 and separated the two of them,
20:29 and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.
20:33 And Elisha saw it, and he cried out,
20:35 'My father, my father,
20:36 the chariot of Israel and its horsemen!'
20:39 So he saw him no more.
20:40 And he took hold of his own clothes
20:42 and tore them into two pieces.' "
20:44 Wow!
20:45 So did Elisha see Elijah get taken to heaven?
20:48 Yes, he did.
20:50 Sophie, can you please read 2 Kings 2:13-14?
20:54 "He also took up the mantle of Elijah
20:56 that had fallen from him,
20:58 and went back and stood by the bank of the Jordan.
21:01 Then he took the mantle of Elijah
21:02 that had fallen from him,
21:04 and struck the water, and said,
21:06 'Where is the Lord God of Elijah?'
21:08 And when he also had struck the water,
21:11 it was divided this way and that,
21:13 and Elisha crossed over."
21:15 So Elijah left his mantle, which is like a cloak,
21:19 behind for Elisha,
21:20 and he used it to part the Jordan River,
21:23 so he could cross over to the other side.
21:25 Elisha then spent some time with the young people
21:29 who were being trained at the School of the Prophets.
21:31 Let's see what happens next.
21:33 Matthew, can you please read
21:34 2 Kings 2:23, 24?
21:40 "Then he went up from there to Bethel,
21:43 and as he was going up the road,
21:45 some youths came from the city and mocked him,
21:48 and said to him, 'Go up, you baldhead!
21:51 Go up, you baldhead!'
21:53 So they turned around and looked at them,
21:55 and pronounced a curse on them in the name of the Lord.
21:59 And two female bears came out of the woods
22:01 and mauled forty-two of the youths."
22:04 Wow!
22:05 So these youths knew Elijah had gone to heaven
22:08 and they were mocking Elisha about it.
22:10 Let's look at our torchlight,
22:12 Mrs. White's writings,
22:15 to see what they shine on this verse.
22:17 Mia, can you please read that for us?
22:21 "Reverence in which the youth who mocked Elisha
22:24 where so lacking is a grace
22:27 that should be carefully cherished.
22:29 Every child should be taught to show true reverence for God
22:33 never showed His name
22:35 be spoken lightly or thoughtlessly.
22:37 Angels as they speak it, veil their faces.
22:40 With what reverence should we, who are fallen and sinful
22:44 taking each upon our lips!"
22:47 So God had raise up Elijah and Elisha
22:50 for a very special purpose.
22:53 They were God's messengers.
22:55 When the youth mocked Elisha, they were actually mocking God.
22:59 This story is a good reminder for us
23:02 to be reverent towards God and His messengers.
23:06 Thank you, boys and girls, who are reading along with us.
23:08 We have a devotional available that goes into more depth
23:11 on what we studied today.

23:53 is to get to know God.
23:55 Well, one way to get to know God
23:57 is to read your Bibles.
23:59 Our daily devotionals help you to read your Bibles every day.
24:04 So I encourage you
24:05 to take a look at our devotionals.
24:07 Aunty Nat, what are we going to be studying about next week?

24:29 because of this great multitude,
24:32 for the battle is not yours, but God's."
24:36 Matthew, we've almost come to the end of our worship time.
24:39 What did you learn about the King today?
24:41 That God wants us to know Him better.
24:43 Yes, He certainly does.
24:45 He really longs to have a special relationship
24:48 with every one of us.

24:51 to sing our blessing song?
24:53 I think we are.
24:54 Boys and girls, can you turn around
24:55 so that we can sing to the children at home.
25:03 May God bless you and keep you
25:08 And fill your heart with love
