00:01 Hello there. Happy Sabbath.
00:02 Come on in, we're about to meet with the King. 00:39 Welcome to another day with the King. 00:41 I'm Aunty Leah, 00:42 and it's so good to have you share in our worship time 00:45 as we commence the Sabbath day. 00:47 Hello, Uncle Daniel, and to all our helpers, 00:50 it's so wonderful 00:51 how you help out with our worship time. 00:53 Hello, Aunty Leah, and hello, children. 00:55 Would anyone like to share a blessing 00:57 they've had this week? 00:58 Yeah, my cousin, she just had a baby. 01:02 That's lovely, God is so good, isn't He? 01:05 Let's start our worship with a prayer. 01:07 Who would like to do that for us? 01:08 I would. 01:09 Thanks, Jeremiah. 01:11 Dear Lord, please turn our minds to You 01:14 as we worship You. 01:15 Bless the boys and girls who have joined us, 01:17 in Jesus' name, amen. 01:20 Amen. Thank you, Jeremiah. 01:23 Aunty Leah, what Bible gem do you have for us today? 01:26 Well, last week we learned about 01:29 more details of parts of King Nebuchadnezzar's dream, 01:32 didn't we? 01:33 Remember, Babylon was just about to be conquered, 01:37 so God focused on telling Daniel 01:39 about future kingdoms, 01:40 that's why he started the vision with Medo-Persia. 01:44 We've learned that horns can represent kings 01:47 or kingdoms. 01:48 The ram-bear represented who? 01:50 Medo-Persia. 01:52 Then Greece was the he-goat, with the big notable horn 01:57 representing King Alexandra the Great, 01:59 who conquered Medo-Persia. 02:01 What happened to that big horn? 02:03 It was broken. 02:05 And what came up in its place? 02:07 Four small horns. 02:09 Yes, four of Alexander's generals 02:12 ruled after his death, 02:14 but they were much less powerful 02:15 than King Alexander. 02:17 Then, we have the dragon like beast 02:20 cruel pagan Rome. 02:22 The ten horns are like the ten toes 02:24 of King Nebuchadnezzar's image. 02:26 Horns represent? 02:28 Kings or kingdoms. 02:30 Yes, the Roman Empire 02:32 broke into ten less powerful kingdoms. 02:35 Then a little horn kingdom 02:37 arose and out rooted three out of the ten. 02:40 This kingdom grew till it became very great. 02:44 We know from history, that's exactly what happened 02:47 in the centuries following the time 02:49 when Jesus lived on earth. 02:51 There's much more to learn about the little horn kingdom 02:54 in the books of Daniel and Revelation. 02:57 When we study Revelation, 02:58 we will all know about this power 03:00 because it still exists today. 03:03 Bryce, would you like 03:04 to find our Bible gem for us today? 03:10 Wow, that's lovely. 03:12 What verse goes with that? 03:16 Luke 24:27. 03:18 This verse talks about Jesus. 03:21 Janina, would you please read that? 03:31 "And beginning at Moses and all of the Prophets, 03:34 He expounded to them in all the Scriptures 03:39 the things concerning Himself." 03:42 Yes. Thank you, Janina. 03:43 Jesus explained to His followers 03:45 how many of the prophecies in the Old Testament 03:48 pointed to Him and His work on earth for their salvation. 03:52 There are hundreds of them. 03:54 Later in our Bible study, 03:55 we'll learn about the prophecy God gave to Daniel in a vision 03:59 that predicted the exact time 04:01 when Jesus would begin His ministry on earth. 04:05 And Jesus did just as prophesied. 04:08 It would be scientifically and mathematically impossible 04:12 for so many predictions to be correct 04:14 about one person just by chance. 04:17 Bryce, would you like to find the last clue in our jewel box? 04:25 "If a prophecy is repeated and more details given, 04:28 it is a sign that it is very important." 04:31 Okay, that means we should study it carefully 04:34 until we understand what God is telling us. 04:37 He's always trying to help us 04:39 and strengthen our trust in Him. 04:41 We can trust God in everything, 04:43 just like Daniel and his three friends did. 04:47 Wow, thanks, Aunty Leah. 04:48 It's so important to remember that 04:51 all of these prophecies point to Jesus, 04:55 what He is doing 04:56 and what He is going to do for us. 04:58 We have so much to be thankful for. 05:01 Uncle Daniel, I'm ready to sing some songs. 05:04 I am too. 05:05 That's a good thing too 05:07 because Braedan is here to join us. 05:08 Hi, Uncle Daniel, and hi all of you as well. 05:11 It's now the Sabbath 05:12 and let's begin with a Sabbath song called 05:15 "It's the Sabbath." 05:22 It's the Sabbath, it's the Sabbath 05:25 We will worship as we sing 05:28 For our God has come to join us 05:30 Let us spend time with our King 05:33 It's the Sabbath, it's the Sabbath 05:35 We will all sing and rejoice 05:38 As we leave our week behind us 05:40 And we praise God with one voice 05:43 For God's day is the seventh day 05:46 Of ev'ry week we know 05:49 He gave us time to spend with Him 05:51 Because he loves us so 05:53 It's the Sabbath, it's the Sabbath 05:56 Do you hear Him call today 05:59 As we come here now to worship Him 06:02 On His appointed day 06:05 Braedan, can we please sing "Dare to be a Daniel?" 06:08 Oh, that is such a good song choice, 06:10 Uncle Daniel, this is your song. 06:12 Let's sing it together. 06:17 Standing by a purpose true Heeding God's command 06:23 Honor them, the faithful few! 06:25 All hail to Daniel's band! 06:29 Dare to be a Daniel Dare to stand alone! 06:34 Dare to have a purpose firm! 06:37 Dare to make it known 06:40 Many mighty men are lost Daring not to stand 06:46 Who for God had been a host By joining Daniel's band 06:52 Dare to be a Daniel Dare to stand alone! 06:57 Dare to have a purpose firm! 07:00 Dare to make it known 07:04 Braedan, Can we sing "The Books are Open?" 07:06 Jireh, that's a great choice. 07:08 This song's based out of Daniel Chapter 8. 07:15 Oh there were two thousand, three hundred days 07:20 For the people to learn of God's ways 07:25 At the end of this time God would draw a great big line 07:30 And then He said the judgment would begin 07:34 The books are open It is the time of the end 07:39 But we don't have to fear Because the Judge is our friend 07:43 The books are open 07:46 And Jesus' arms are open wide 07:50 Our God's a God of love 07:53 He's on our side 07:57 Thanks, Braedan, I enjoyed the song about Daniel. 08:00 Now let's find out what story 08:01 Dr. John has for us in his study. 08:04 Hello, boys and girls. 08:05 I'm Dr. John, and I'm so happy to see you again. 08:09 And I'm looking at the boys and girls 08:10 who are with us in their television sets. 08:14 So good to have you too. 08:16 I want to tell you a story about a clock 08:19 which did something 08:21 that no clock is ever supposed to do. 08:24 As this clock in the city of Plymouth in England 08:28 and it's called the Great Plymouth clock 08:33 or the Derry clock. 08:35 And one night at midnight, it started to bong 08:40 once, twice, three, four, five. 08:45 There was only two people in the whole square 08:47 because everybody was in bed. 08:50 Nine, ten, eleven, 08:54 twelve, thirteen, 08:58 and one man, Captain Jemison turned to the other 09:01 and he said, "Did you hear that? 09:04 The clock struck 13, 09:07 and the other man said he did too. 09:11 And off they went. 09:13 And you know, a few months later, 09:16 Captain Jarvis couldn't sleep. 09:21 He got up and he thought, 09:22 "Well, I better have a shower and get going." 09:26 And so he had a shower, and he went downstairs 09:30 and there was the groom with a horse. 09:32 And he said, 09:34 "What made you get up so early?" 09:36 "Sir, I couldn't sleep." 09:40 And I thought, "Well, I'll get the horse ready." 09:43 "Well, that's good." 09:44 So he got on the horse 09:47 and he trotted along and he thought, 09:49 "This will come to an end because we'll get to the river 09:52 and the ferryman will be asleep." 09:56 But when he got there, 09:57 the ferryman was there with the ferry 10:01 and he said, "Why you are here?" 10:04 "I couldn't sleep last night. 10:07 And so I thought, I better get the ferry ready 10:09 in case somebody comes." 10:11 So he went across on the ferry. 10:13 And he said to the horse, I don't know where we're going. 10:17 And the horse said nothing. 10:20 So he let go of the reins 10:21 and the horse just walked along, 10:25 until it came to a town. 10:28 He got off the horse, and he said to somebody 10:31 what's happening in town today. 10:33 Oh! 10:34 Today is the big day of the trial for murder. 10:38 Are you going to see it? 10:39 He said, "Well, I don't know why I'm here." 10:42 And he wandered into the courthouse. 10:45 Now, the old fashioned courthouses in England, 10:49 the judge wore a wig 10:52 and there is a judge's wig. 10:58 And there he was sitting, 11:01 and Captain Jarvis arrived there just as 11:06 the judge was doing this. 11:11 In the old days, 11:13 when the judge took a little square of black cloth 11:18 and put it on his head like that, 11:21 that meant he was about to sentence somebody to die. 11:27 And this man was convicted of murder, 11:31 and the judge said, "Prisoner at the bar, 11:33 is there anything you want to say?" 11:37 He said, "Sir, I know I wasn't where the murder took place. 11:42 The only thing I can say is, one man was standing with me 11:47 when the great Derry clock struck 13 times at midnight. 11:52 He's the only one who can save my life. 11:56 And Captain Jarvis stood up and said, Your Honor, 12:01 hold the court, take your black cap off, 12:05 I'm the man, I was there, 12:10 and his life was saved. 12:12 That was a miracle, 12:15 and you know, folks, 12:17 we're all under sentence of death. 12:20 And there is nothing that could possibly save us 12:23 except the Lord Jesus Christ. 12:27 He did far worse than Captain Jarvis 12:29 who got up in the middle of the night, 12:32 he allowed himself to take the place 12:35 of all the guilty people. 12:38 And it's good that when we get to the kingdom 12:40 and God will be his judge. 12:42 When He sees us, 12:44 He won't be wearing the black cap 12:46 and said, "He will welcome us to the kingdom of heaven." 12:49 Do you like that story? 12:51 I love it. Thank you, boys and girls. 12:54 It's time for our Bible study. 12:56 Today, we'll see how the prophecy showed 12:59 that Jesus is indeed the Messiah, our Savior. 13:03 Chemiah, would you please pray to open our Bible study? 13:06 Sure. 13:08 Dear Jesus, please help us to understand what we read 13:12 and please make our trust in You strong 13:14 as we study the prophecies in Daniel, 13:16 in Jesus' name, amen. 13:19 Thank you, Chemiah. 13:20 Jireh, what did we learn about last week? 13:24 We learned about the longest time prophecy in the Bible. 13:26 Yes, that's right. 13:28 And do you remember how long that prophecy was? 13:31 Two thousand, three hundred years. 13:33 Yes. 13:34 Remember last week, we read that Daniel fainted 13:37 before the Angel Gabriel could explain 13:39 the prophetic 2300 days. 13:42 In Chapter 9 of Daniel, Gabriel comes back 13:45 to explain more of Daniel's vision 13:47 described in Chapter 8. 13:48 Today, we'll find out the start and end dates 13:51 for the 2300 day prophecy. 13:54 But we have some other things to discover first. 13:57 Let's open our Bibles to Daniel Chapter 9. 14:00 Daniel has been studying the scriptures. 14:02 He knew from Jeremiah's prophecy 14:04 that God's people would be delivered 14:06 after 70 years of captivity. 14:09 Daniel calculated that the promised deliverance 14:12 was only a couple of years away. 14:14 So he prayed earnestly 14:16 for the deliverance of his people. 14:18 Bethany, would you please read verse 18, 14:21 which is close to the end of Daniel's humbled prayer? 14:26 O my God, incline Your ear and hear, 14:29 open Your eyes and see our desolations, 14:31 and the city which is called by Your name, 14:33 for we do not present our supplications before You 14:35 because of our righteous deeds, 14:37 but because of Your great mercies." 14:40 Daniel knew it was God's reputation at stake, 14:44 not just the Israelites, they'd let God down. 14:47 They failed to be living examples of God's love 14:50 and truth in the world. 14:51 But God was so merciful, 14:53 He gave them another opportunity 14:55 to enjoy the freedom that only God can provide. 14:59 God heard Daniel's prayer 15:01 and sent Gabriel to comfort him. 15:03 Jireh, would you please read verse 23? 15:08 "At the beginning of your supplications 15:10 the command went out, and I have come to tell you, 15:15 for you are greatly beloved, therefore consider the matter, 15:18 and understand the vision." 15:20 How comforting to be told by an angel 15:23 that you are greatly loved in heaven. 15:26 Gabriel went on to explain more about the vision in verse 24. 15:31 Can you please continue, Bryce? 15:36 "Seventy weeks are determined for your people 15:38 and for your holy city, to finish the transgression, 15:41 to make an end of sins, 15:43 to make reconciliation for iniquity, 15:49 to bring in everlasting righteousness, 15:51 to seal up vision and prophecy, and to anoint the Most Holy." 15:56 That's a lot to take in, isn't it? 15:58 Well, let's break it down, 16:00 so that we can understand what is being said. 16:03 How many days in 70 weeks? 16:06 Four hundred and ninety days. 16:09 Yes. 16:11 And how long does 490 days represent in prophetic time? 16:16 Four hundred and ninety years. 16:18 That's right. 16:20 This verse says that 16:21 these 490 years were determined or cut off. 16:25 Now the question is, cut off from what? 16:28 Well, cut off from the larger 2300 years 16:32 that we learned about in Chapter 8. 16:35 During this 490 year period, 16:37 the Israelites were to prove their worthiness to remain 16:41 God's chosen people. 16:43 This verse talks about the Most Holy or Messiah 16:46 which is another name for Jesus. 16:49 The name Messiah means anointed. 16:51 Anointed refers to a ritual of consecrating 16:54 or setting aside someone for a special work. 16:58 In this case, Jesus, 16:59 the Most Holy or Messiah was anointed at His baptism 17:03 by the Holy Spirit 17:05 who appeared in the form of a dove 17:06 that rested on Jesus. 17:08 We need to find out 17:10 when these 490 years of Jewish probation began. 17:13 If we discovered this date, 17:15 we will also know the starting date 17:18 for the 2300 years. 17:21 Verse 25 reveals the starting date. 17:25 Would you read the first part of verse 25, 17:28 please Chemiah? 17:30 "Know therefore and understand, 17:32 that from the going forth of the command 17:34 to restore and build Jerusalem until Messiah the Prince, 17:38 there shall be seven weeks and sixty-two weeks." 17:42 Thanks, Chemiah. 17:43 History and the Bible tell us there were three decrees 17:47 made by the kings of Medo-Persia 17:49 in relation to Jerusalem. 17:51 We'll learn more about these over the coming weeks. 17:54 The third decree commanded that Jerusalem be rebuilt, 17:58 and self government restored. 18:00 King Artaxerxes made this decree 18:03 in 457 BC. 18:06 You can read about that in Ezra Chapter 7. 18:10 Four hundred and ninety years 18:13 takes us to the fall of autumn 34 AD. 18:18 We don't have a zero year 18:20 when we calculate a calendar year. 18:22 How many weeks is seven weeks plus 62 weeks? 18:27 Sixty nine weeks. 18:30 That's right. 18:31 And how many days did you work out 18:34 to be in 69 weeks? 18:36 Four hundred and eighty three days. 18:38 Yes, in prophetic time, 18:41 how many literal years does 483 days represent? 18:45 Four hundred and eighty three years 18:48 Yes. 18:50 Now, let's work this out on our chart. 18:53 We don't have a zero year. 18:55 So when you move along 18:57 483 years from 457 BC, 19:02 you come to the autumn or fall of 27 AD. 19:08 Luke Chapter 3 tells us that Jesus was baptized 19:11 in the 15th year of the reign of Tiberias Caesar. 19:15 We know from history, this was 27 AD. 19:19 So history confirms what the Bible predicted. 19:23 Jesus was baptized and anointed by the Holy Spirit 19:27 in 27 AD. 19:30 During this last prophetic week, 19:31 the 70th week, something happens. 19:36 Jeremiah, would you please read the first part of verse 26? 19:41 "And after the sixty-two weeks, Messiah shall be cut off, 19:46 but not for Himself." 19:47 This part of the prophecy predicts 19:50 that Jesus would be cut off or killed 19:53 but not for Himself. 19:55 He died for us. 19:57 It even prophesize the time of His death. 20:00 Sai, would you please read the first part of verse 27? 20:03 "Then he shall confirm a covenant 20:06 with many for one week, 20:08 but in the middle of the week, 20:13 He shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering." 20:17 Remember our sanctuary services, 20:20 what was sacrificed on the altar? 20:22 A lamb. A lamb. 20:24 Yeah, the people confessed their sins 20:26 on the head of the lamb 20:28 and the lamb paid the full price for their sins. 20:31 And who did the lamb represent? 20:33 Jesus. Yes. 20:35 The sanctuary service pointed the people forward to the time 20:39 when Jesus would die in their place. 20:42 We don't have to die for our sins, 20:44 if we accept Jesus sacrifice on our behalf. 20:47 Let's read out torchlight, 20:49 Mrs. White's writings 20:51 in the book Royalty and Ruin, page 245, 20:54 and see what she shines on this. 20:57 Thank you, Auntie Leah, for reading that. 21:04 "In the spring of AD 31, 21:06 the true sacrifice was offered on Calvary, 21:09 when the veil of the temple was torn, 21:11 showing that the time had come 21:13 for the earthly sacrifices to end." 21:16 So Jesus' death on the cross brought an end 21:20 to the need for the animal sacrifice 21:22 and offerings. 21:23 In what part of the week did Jesus die 21:26 according to verse 27? 21:29 The middle of the week. 21:30 That's right. 21:32 Remember, we are talking about a prophetic week 21:34 or seven days. 21:36 Seven prophetic days is how many literal years? 21:40 Seven years. That's right. 21:43 Now, if Jesus died in the middle of seven years, 21:48 when did He die? 21:49 What's half of seven? 21:50 Three and a half. 21:52 That's right. 21:53 We have some very good mathematicians here. 21:56 Let's see where this is in our timeline. 21:59 Now, we know from history 22:01 that Jesus died in the spring of 31 AD, 22:05 right on time exactly as prophesied. 22:09 Jesus also rose again the third day, 22:12 just as He prophesied in Mark 8:31. 22:15 Even scientists and mathematicians 22:17 who don't believe in God 22:19 have to admit that it is impossible for one person 22:22 to fulfill so many accurate prophecies or predictions. 22:27 Only God can tell the future 22:28 like that as 2 Peter 1:21 tells us. 22:33 Would you please read that for us, Bethany? 22:36 "For prophecy never came by the will of man, 22:39 but the holy men of God 22:40 spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit." 22:43 Thank you, Bethany. 22:44 This means we can trust what the Bible says, 22:48 and we can trust in Jesus' prophecy 22:50 that He will come again and take us home 22:53 to live with Him for eternity 22:55 if we trust and follow Him. 22:58 And the 2300 day-year prophecy tells us that 23:01 Jesus is coming back very soon. 23:04 Let's see why? 23:06 We've just learned that the starting date 23:08 for the 2300 years was 457 BC. 23:13 So the 2300 years 23:16 ended in 1844. 23:19 Since 1844, 23:21 we have been living 23:22 in the heavenly Day of Atonement time. 23:25 Jesus is now acting as Judge. 23:28 This means we need to be ready every day. 23:31 And Jesus has promised 23:32 to get us ready for the judgment 23:34 if we cooperate with Him. 23:36 Let's read our memory verse together in Jude 24, 23:39 the second last book of the Bible. 23:42 All right, let's read together. 23:44 "Now to Him 23:46 who is able to keep you from stumbling, 23:49 and to present you faultless 23:51 before the presence of His glory 23:54 with exceeding joy." 23:56 Jesus offers us the power 23:58 to keep us from falling into temptation and sin. 24:02 What a wonderful and encouraging promise? 24:05 We can trust God's promises 24:07 to get us ready for Jesus' return. 24:09 We are living at the end of earth's history. 24:12 Jesus will soon return and take us home 24:14 to live with Him forever. 24:16 There's so much to look forward to. 24:19 Thank you for reading along with us. 24:21 Just in case you haven't already been 24:23 downloading our devotionals, 24:25 listen to Matthew and Caleigh to find out more. 24:32 What do you want? 24:33 You bored? 24:35 Yes. 24:36 Look what I got. 24:40 Whoa! 24:41 Look at that! 24:42 Cool. 24:44 Where did you get this? 24:45 adaywiththeking.com. 24:49 Thanks Matthew and Caleigh. 24:50 Uncle Daniel, what are we going to learn about next week? 24:53 Well, next week we're going to learn about a prophecy 24:56 that not only predicted the Israelite captivity, 25:00 but also predicted by name 25:03 the Medo-Persian king 25:04 who would grant the Israelites their freedom again. 25:07 God knows everything. 25:09 He surely does. 25:10 He knows everything about you and me. 25:13 Our memory verse for today is full of hope. 25:16 Let's go over it once more. 25:18 "Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, 25:23 and to present you faultless 25:25 before the presence of His glory 25:28 with exceeding joy." 25:30 Jude 24. 25:33 That's one of my favorite Bible promises. 25:35 Sai, what did you learn about the King today? 25:38 That Jesus is strong enough 25:40 to keep me from doing bad things. 25:42 He sure is. 25:44 We may still be tempted, but Jesus gives us the strength 25:48 not to give in to temptation. 25:51 Well, that's it for now from us. 25:53 We pray that you will spend special time with Jesus 25:57 at the beginning and end of every Sabbath day. 26:00 You can sing along with us 26:01 as we close with our lesson song. 26:04 Ready everyone? 26:09 May God bless you and keep you 26:15 And fill your heart with love 26:20 May God guide and protect you 26:25 And watch you from above 26:30 And Sabbath after Sabbath 26:35 We greet the day of rest 26:40 The day the king of glory 26:45 Has sanctified and blessed 26:51 Goodbye my friend till we meet again 26:56 For another day with the King 27:01 Goodbye! 27:02 Happy Sabbath! 27:12 I know Jesus loves me because He first loved me. 27:22 I know Jesus loves me 27:23 because He's coming to take me home with Him. 27:31 I know Jesus loves me because He died for me. |
