00:17 Good evening, my friends its Sabbath in
00:20 Battle Creek right now, the evening has come 00:22 and we only have two more meetings left. 00:25 We are coming to you live from Battle Creek 00:27 with another addition of the Eleventh-Hour Evidence 00:31 and we are excited about the message Pastor 00:34 Asscherick has for us tonight. 00:35 I'm your host Pastor Jason Seiber. 00:37 And I want to encourage you to pull up your chair 00:39 and get ready because Pastor Asscherick 00:42 is passionate, isn't he always passionate? Amen. 00:45 He is passionate about what he is going to be 00:47 sharing with us tonight about prophecy, 00:50 but before we do that Eric Umali standing 00:52 by with a beautiful song, "Softly and Tenderly." 00:56 Eric, why don't you share that with us right now? 01:14 Softly and tenderly Jesus is calling, 01:23 calling for you and for me; 01:32 see, on the portals he's waiting and watching, 01:42 watching for you and for me. 01:50 Come home, come home; 01:59 ye who are weary come home; 02:07 earnestly, tenderly, Jesus is calling, 02:18 calling, O sinner, come home! 02:36 Why should we linger when Jesus is pleading, 02:45 pleading for you and for me? 02:54 Why should we tary and heed not his mercies, 03:03 mercies for you and for me? 03:12 Come home, come home; 03:20 ye who are weary come home; 03:29 earnestly, tenderly, Jesus is calling, 03:41 calling, O sinner, come home! 03:54 Time is now fleeting, the moments are passing, 04:02 passing from you and from me; 04:10 shadows are gathering, deathbeds are coming, 04:18 coming for you and for me. 04:26 O for the wonderful love he has promised, 04:35 promised for you and for me! 04:44 Though we have sinned, he has mercy and pardon, 04:55 pardon for you and for me. 05:04 Come home, come home; 05:14 ye who are weary come home; 05:23 earnestly, tenderly, Jesus is calling, 05:34 calling, O sinner, come home! Come home. 06:01 Amen, thank you Eric that was just beautiful Eric. 06:05 I was just thinking if I, I was just thinking that, 06:08 that would be a beautiful song to go to sleep with. 06:11 This is powerful. By the way what do 06:13 you do for a living? I'm a seismologist. 06:16 Oh! I knew that friends. Eric, thank you so much. 06:25 That's for the ultimate cheap below wasn't it? 06:29 But I have to tell you that Eric really has a 06:32 powerful message in that song that we should all 06:34 be listening to tonight. Amen. It's time for us to 06:37 come home; it's time for us to make our 06:39 decisions for Jesus Christ. This series is just about 06:41 over and we want desperately for people 06:43 to be making decisions to come home 06:45 that's what it's all about. A man lay on his bed 06:50 in Washington D.C. the death's shadows were 06:54 gathering around him, his friends were gathering 06:57 around him. It was a muggy hot day in July 07:03 and as he expired, he raised his voice once more 07:08 and said, Jefferson lives, you see the man 07:12 was none other than John Adams and the day 07:15 July 4, 1824. Exactly 50 years today, 07:23 that he has set his pen to the paper of the 07:26 declaration of independence. What he did you know; 07:29 he was just across town Jefferson had passed 07:31 away about three hours before. 07:33 Both of the men who had formulated the great 07:37 heart of our great republic passed away on the 07:42 same day within hours of each other, 07:45 the 50th anniversary of the signing of declaration 07:49 of the, of the declaration of independence. 07:51 And the nation took this as evidence that God 07:56 had a special plan for the United States. 07:59 Could you see how they do that? Amazing, 08:02 amazing event little did they know though that 08:05 much greater evidence was to be found, 08:08 no other place then the Bible itself. Did you know, 08:14 that the Bible tells about amazing destiny 08:17 with respected to this country, if you didn't, 08:19 you will find out just about now? 08:21 Amen. Amen. Good evening, everyone. 08:23 Good evening. Wasn't that a beautiful song? 08:26 Very nice. Very nice, that was extremely lowered 08:29 Jason. But the Lord will forgive you and I'm sure 08:34 Eric will forgive you, where is the Eric here? 08:36 Is he forgiven? He's is forgiven, 08:39 you are getting the knot there. 08:42 Isn't that powerful to do hear that introduction? 08:45 Amen, amen. I fairly confess that I did not know that, 08:48 I feel like I have learned about history. 08:50 This is a true story, I feel like I have learned more 08:53 about history in the last two weeks staying 08:55 with Pastor Seiber, then in the first 20 08:57 or I guess 31 years of my life, the fellow is in 09:02 encyclopedia when it comes to history. Amen. 09:05 Names and dates and places and battles 09:08 and it staggering. And I just find it remarkable 09:12 that the two men or two of the men who are 09:15 most responsible for brining this declaration 09:18 of independence together and, 09:20 and giving birth to this burgeoning young nation. 09:22 John Adams and Thomas Jefferson that both of them 09:26 died on the 50th anniversary July 4, 09:29 the 50th anniversary of the signing of the 09:31 declaration of independence within hours of one 09:34 another. Now, does that strike you as amazing, 09:36 yes or no? Amen. It's remarkable and 09:38 I appreciate what you said there Jason that 09:40 that the country took that as a sign as a 09:42 providential sign that God had endorsed 09:45 and would continue to endorsed this nation. 09:47 And I appreciate you're using that as an 09:49 introduction because it sets the stage perfectly 09:51 for our message tonight entitled the United States 09:54 in Bible Prophecy. The United States in Bible 09:57 Prophecy, and so you can see how nicely that 10:00 was segued into our message proper this evening. 10:02 Now, before we get into that message 10:03 what would we do first? Pray. Pray, that's right. 10:05 So, let's begin with the word of prayer. 10:10 Father in heaven, we thank you that you have been 10:12 with us either to this evening. 10:15 Father you are spoken to us through the song 10:17 and certainly through this powerful 10:19 introductory story that Jason has communicated 10:23 for us. Father we pray now that you will come 10:26 into this room that you will condescend to be here. 10:28 To speak not father because of me, 10:32 but in spite of me. Father may my lips be loosed 10:36 like Isaiah of all may you touch my lips with the coal 10:39 from the alter that the words that I say 10:41 and the thoughts that I think would come flowing, 10:43 not from a man, but from the very throne of God. 10:46 Amen. Father please be with us tonight 10:48 and as we explore this provocative yet powerful 10:51 topic. We pray that you will illumine our minds 10:54 and that we may walk in the light. 10:57 And this is our prayer in Jesus name 10:59 everyone can say, amen. Amen. 11:02 Let's go in our Bibles to the book of Revelation, 11:04 Revelation chapter 13. Our message is entitled 11:07 the United States in Bible Prophecy 11:09 and we are going to do something very much like 11:12 what we did several days ago, when we read 11:15 Revelation chapter 12 through and it's entire you 11:17 might recall that. We just began the program by, 11:20 by getting an airplane view of the Book 11:23 of Revelation chapter 12 particularly just reading 11:25 it through straight and we are going to do the 11:27 same thing tonight. As we commends, 11:28 accept this time instead of reading 11:30 Revelation chapter 12 we are going to read 11:32 Revelation chapter 13, the entire way through. 11:34 Now, let me tell you why we are doing that? 11:35 The goal that I want you to, the goal that 11:38 I want you attain here and what I want you 11:39 to see is that in a panorama as we sort 11:42 of fly over this chapter with an airplane view, 11:45 we are going to see the great movements 11:48 and these two great figures, there are two 11:50 beasts in this chapter. How many beasts in 11:52 this chapter? Two. The first rises from the sea, 11:54 that's the sea beast. The second rises from 11:56 the earth and that's the earth beast. 11:58 And as we read the chapter what I want you 12:00 to be paying very careful attention too, 12:02 is the relationship between the two beasts. 12:05 What, what does the first beast do for the second 12:07 and the second for the first? What is the mutuality 12:10 reciprocity in relationship here? 12:12 That's what I want you to be thinking about 12:14 as we read it through and it's entirety. 12:15 Let's begin in Revelation chapter 13 and verse 1. 12:18 Here is the picture you have in your mind 12:20 John there 24 miles out into the G&C 12:23 writing with an aged hand on a piece of a 12:25 paraiso leather. And he is thinking back to the 12:29 fact that all of his friends, all of his cormorants 12:31 and compatriots are gone. Only he remains 12:35 alive of the original disciples and Jesus has 12:37 appeared to him to give him this incredible vision. 12:40 This panorama of future events, 12:42 as John sits down to write that God had shown him, 12:46 put yourself there on that rocky, 12:48 barren island of Patmos and see with me 12:50 what John saw in prophetic vision. 12:53 Revelation chapter 13 and verse 1, 12:55 "And I Stood Upon the Sand of the Sea." 12:57 John was surrounded by see "And I Saw a Beast 12:59 rising Up out of the sea having seven heads 13:01 and ten horns and on his horns ten crowns, 13:03 and on his head blasphemy his name. 13:05 Now, the beat which I saw it was like a leopard, 13:07 his feet were like the feet of a bear, 13:08 and his mouth like the mouth of a lion: 13:10 and the dragon gave him his power, his throne, 13:13 and great authority. And I saw one of his heads 13:15 as if it had been mortally wounded and his 13:18 deadly wound was healed: and all the world 13:19 wondered after the beast. So, they worshipped 13:22 the dragon which gave authority to the beast: 13:24 and they worshipped the beast, saying, 13:25 Who is like the beast? Who is able to make war 13:29 with him? And it was given a mouth, 13:31 speaking great things and blasphemies, 13:33 and he was given authority to continue for a 13:35 forty-two months. Then he opened his mouth in 13:37 blasphemy against God, to blaspheme His name, 13:41 His tabernacle, and those who dwell in heaven. 13:44 It was granted him to make war with the saints 13:46 and to overcome them and authority was given 13:49 him over every tribe, and tongues, and nations. 13:52 All who dwell on the earth will worship him, 13:55 whose names have not been written in the 13:56 book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation 13:58 of the world. If anyone has an ear, let him hear. 14:01 He who leads into captivity shall go into captivity: 14:04 he who kills with the sword must be killed with 14:07 the sword. Here is the patience and the faith 14:09 of the saints. Then I saw another beast coming 14:14 up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, 14:17 and spoke like a dragon. And he exercises all 14:20 the authority of the first beast and his presence 14:22 and causes the earth and those who dwell in it 14:24 to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound 14:27 was healed. He performs great signs, 14:29 so that he makes fire comedown from heaven 14:31 on the earth in the sight of men, 14:32 And deceives those who dwell on the earth 14:34 by those signs, which he was granted to do 14:37 in the side of the beat telling those who dwell 14:39 on the earth to make an image to the beast to 14:41 who was wounded by the sword and lived. 14:44 He was granted power to give breath to the 14:46 image of the beast, that the image of the beast 14:48 should both speak, and cause that as many as 14:50 would not worship the image of the beast should 14:52 be killed. He causes all, both small and great, 14:55 rich and poor, free and slave, to receive 14:57 a mark on their right hand, or on their foreheads: 15:00 And that no one may buy or sell, 15:02 accept the one who has the mark, 15:04 or the name of the beast, or the number 15:06 of his name. Here is wisdom. 15:09 Let him who has understanding calculate 15:12 the number of the beast: for it is the number 15:14 of a man; his number is 666. "Powerful chapter 15:20 isn't it? Amen. As we read it in it's totally, 15:23 you really get a sense for into the relationship 15:26 between these two beasts. Will you picking up on 15:28 that yes or no? Yes. Let, let me try and unpacked 15:31 for you as we commends with our message tonight. 15:33 The first beast is the sea beast, 15:35 he rises up out of the sea, he reigns for a 15:38 protracted period of time one thousand, 15:39 two hundred and sixty prophetic days 15:40 or literal years, he then receives a deadly wound. 15:43 What kind of a wound everyone? 15:45 A deadly wound, but what happens to 15:47 that wound? The Bible says, his deadly wound 15:49 was healed. Now, a remarkable thing happens 15:51 after that? John than sees a second beast rising up 15:54 and the second beast primary task is to act as 15:59 an apologist or a spokes person or a prophet for 16:03 the first beast. Did you notice that, 16:06 yes or no? Amen. The primary task of the second 16:08 beast is to direct attention like an arrow back to 16:12 the first beast. It says, he calls us the earth to 16:15 worship not himself, but who everyone? 16:17 The first beast, so the second beast functions 16:20 in a very similar way to the way that prophets 16:23 in Old Testament functioned for God. 16:26 Let me repeat that, the second beast functions 16:29 for the first beast and the very same kind 16:32 of way the prophets in the Old Testament spoke 16:34 and ministered for God. Just as God would raise them 16:38 up to speak his words and appoint individuals 16:42 particularly the nation of Israel to him, 16:44 so to this beast rises up speaks his words commits 16:49 his acts to point and direct people to the first beast. 16:53 He is the prophet of the first beast. 16:55 In fact, he is refer to in the Book of Revelation 16:57 as the false prophet. Now, did you see that 17:01 inter relationship, yes or no? That is the whole 17:04 purpose of the second beast is to point people 17:07 back, the whole world in deception back to the 17:10 first beast that we identified last night 17:12 as the Roman Church State. Now, before going any 17:15 further, let's do a little bit of review 17:17 and sort of summarized what we last night? 17:20 John sees this amalgam beast he sees it 17:22 coming up out of the sea. Remember sea in the 17:24 Bible represent peoples, multitudes, nations 17:27 and languages in a prophetic context, 17:29 in what kind of a context did I say? 17:31 Now, that doesn't mean that any all time 17:33 you see water in the Bible that it means peoples 17:35 multitudes nations and languages, but in prophecy, 17:38 in what word did I say? End time prophecy then 17:41 you can make that application safely, amen, 17:43 yes or no? This is not license to read into, 17:46 into any time that water occurs in the Bible as 17:49 people was multitudes nation and languages 17:51 no, no, no. John sees this horrific beast rising 17:53 up out of the sea, out of a populous area, 17:55 we have already learn that a Bible a pardon me 17:57 a beast in the Bible represents what? Amen. 17:59 And what is that represent, a king or a kingdom 18:02 and nation. You have got it, so here comes this nation, 18:05 this kingdom rising up out of a populated area 18:08 of the earth, when John saw him he described 18:10 him his possessing the, the characteristics 18:13 of those beasts from Daniel chapter 7 18:15 and let us note that here. We discussed that 18:17 last evening in Daniel chapter 7, Daniel saw 18:19 four beasts. How many beasts everyone? 18:21 Four! The first was like a lion, 18:23 the second was a bear, the third was a leopard 18:27 and the fourth was a, don't know, 18:29 we don't know what it was, right? 18:30 Now, remember those beast represented the 18:33 great kingdoms, the great what? Kingdom. 18:36 What is the first beast represent? Babylon. 18:38 Babylon, then Medo-Persia, then priest, 18:41 then Rome, that's exactly right. 18:43 And so when John was looking backward, 18:45 he saw them in the exact opposite order, 18:48 the Daniel had seen them when he was 18:49 looking prophetically into the future. 18:51 Daniel had seen lion, bear, leopard, 18:53 ferocious beast. Here John when looking 18:56 back to time living during the time of Rome 18:58 saw the ferocious characteristic and then 19:01 he saw leopard, bear and lion, 19:03 Daniel looking forward into the prophecy, 19:05 John looking back into history. Are we on the 19:07 same page, yes or no? Amen. Now, when John 19:10 here describes this beast is having all of the 19:12 strange characteristics. What he is saying is, 19:15 is that this is a beast that is made up of all 19:18 the beast of Daniel seven directing our 19:20 minds back to Daniel in the seventh chapter. 19:22 We learned last night that one of the 19:24 characteristics of this anti-Christ beast would 19:26 be that he would reign for one thousand, 19:27 two hundred and sixty prophetic days 19:29 or literal years. How many years did I say? 19:32 One thousand, two hundred and sixty 19:35 or 42 months, that's right. Now, I told you last 19:37 night how many times that time period occurs 19:40 in the Bible. How many remember, 19:42 how many times is this time period occur? 19:44 Seven. Seven, five times in Revelation 19:46 and two in Daniel, so what is a very significant 19:48 time period? This beast reigned from 538 AD, 19:53 538 AD, one thousand, two hundred 19:56 and sixty prophetic days are literal years 19:58 until 1798, exactly one thousand, 20:01 two hundred and sixty years. 20:03 Now, remarkably is that period of time came 20:05 to a close, a French general by the name of, 20:08 I said Berthier and last night Jason said, 20:11 it's Bathier. So, I, I apologize for saying it 20:13 wrong. A French General by the name of Berthier, 20:16 he probably knows everything else about 20:18 until. In 1798 marched into the Vatican City, 20:23 he took the pope off of his throne 20:24 and he declared everything in the Vatican 20:27 to be the public property of France, 20:30 of what nation did is say? France. France, 20:32 and people that were watching the papacy at 20:34 that time declared that the beast had received 20:38 a deadly wound. And what, what happens 20:41 to you, if you receive the deadly wound you 20:43 tell me. God. God, and so people were saying, 20:45 this is the end of the papacy I mean the 20:47 popes when taken out of his throne 20:49 and everything has been declared the public 20:50 property, I mean I will never rise again, 20:53 in a drain exactly has God has said from 20:55 538 coming to power their in the sixth century 20:58 for one thousand, two hundred and sixty years 20:59 and coming to it's apparent end in 1798. 21:03 Now, we discussed that last night, 21:04 we just given you a little more detail now. 21:06 Now, note with me that this beast reigns 21:09 just as the little horn in Daniel seven, 21:11 for that protracted period of time that 21:12 we just described. Yet something very 21:15 interesting happens, John Man sees a 21:18 second beast. Go with me now to Revelation 21:20 chapter 13. In Revelation chapter 13, 21:24 beginning in verse 1 and extending down to 21:26 verse 10, John is describing the first beast, 21:29 the what beast did I say everyone? 21:30 The first beast. The first beast, 21:32 that what beast everyone? 21:33 First beast. First beast, we have got to be 21:34 on the same page here, we will not be able 21:36 to make any kind of progress, any kind of 21:37 meaningful progress. So, John is seeing almost 21:40 in cinematic vision, pretend with me that is, 21:43 it's the equivalent of being on a movie screen 21:45 and John is seeing this first beast, 21:47 think of some other things what that first 21:48 beast did? He made war with the saints; 21:51 he reigned for this protracted period of time. 21:53 He was a blassfamous, he changed the times 21:56 and laws of God and John is watching all of this 21:58 in cinematic vision, are you with me, 22:00 yes or no? Amen. Now, notice what John sees, 22:03 as this beast, this anti-Christ beast is coming 22:06 towards end. Revelation 13, this first beast is 22:10 the same power as Daniel chapter 7, 22:12 they are one in the same, they do the 22:13 same things, they reigned for the same an out 22:16 of time, they have the same career. 22:18 The same what word did I say, they are one 22:20 in the same. Now, as John is seeing this beast, 22:23 this anti-Christ beast sort of carry out it's 22:25 mission to destroy and to deceive, 22:27 he notices that something happens to that beast. 22:30 And notice with me in verse 10. It says, 22:33 "He who lives into captivity shall what? 22:37 Go into captivity he who kills with the sword 22:42 must be what? Killed with the sword, here was 22:44 the patience in the faith of the saints. 22:45 Now, what does this mean? Precisely this, 22:49 this first beast who through the period that 22:51 we refer to now as the dark ages. 22:54 The what period everyone? The dark ages, 22:56 now you might say well why it was call the 22:58 dark ages, there are a variety of reasons, 23:00 but one of the cheapest reasons must be, 23:02 that the Bible says in Psalm 119, 23:04 in verse 105 Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet. 23:07 And a light unto my path And during this 23:10 period of time friends the, the significant part 23:12 of this period of time, the Bible was remove 23:15 from the common people and let me take 23:17 that step further, it was illegal to own a Bible. 23:20 Are you understanding yes or no? Amen. 23:23 Now, remember that Gutenberg didn't invent 23:24 the printing press until the 15th century 23:26 and so far hundreds of years only the richest, 23:29 only the most noble could afford to have 23:32 a hand scribed copy of the Bible. 23:35 And friends it was kept away from the people 23:38 usually chain to a church wall and to a 23:40 monastery wall that a some kind of temple 23:42 wall kept away from the common people in 23:45 the language of Latin usually which most of 23:46 the people could not read and so people did 23:49 not have access, do not have what word? 23:52 Access. Access to the Bible. Now, that's almost 23:54 impossible for us to grasp, isn't it? 23:57 I mean think about it, how many Bibles 23:58 do you have in your home? I have probably 24:00 20 Bibles that I personally own. 24:03 Friends this is a great high and special 24:06 privilege and I remind you if the words of Jesus. 24:08 To him who much has been given the more 24:11 will be required, amen. Amen. We have Bible 24:15 friends, we have study Bibles and women's 24:17 Bibles and men's Bibles and dad's Bibles 24:19 and mom Bibles and African-American, 24:21 every kind of Bible you can imagine. 24:22 Yet in those days, Bibles were scares, 24:25 but more than scares that were illegal to 24:27 be have and if were found with a Bible in 24:29 your home or even portions of scribes at the 24:30 Bible you could be killed. Are you understanding, 24:33 yes or no? Amen. Now, what happened was 24:35 is that when the Bible was taken away from 24:37 the common people, this than cause the people 24:39 to have to go to the priest or to the pope, 24:42 or to the prelate or to the cardinal to discover, 24:45 what said the Lord. The problem is, is that much 24:48 of what was being communicated to them 24:50 was patently false. Patently what word did 24:53 I say? False. False, they invented all 24:55 kinds of strange heresies and superstitious 24:58 idolatries and people didn't have any cannon 25:01 and any Bible to check them out with 25:03 and so they believed it and down, down, 25:05 down humanity went deeper and deeper 25:07 and the superstition because of the light of God, 25:10 the lamp of the word had been taken away. 25:12 So, far so good. Amen. Now, this power then 25:17 it was leading individuals who would, 25:20 who would adhere to the word as much as 25:22 they could and adhere to Christ as much as 25:24 they could and they Shawn the teachings 25:26 of the church. They said, we accept Christ in 25:29 him only we will not bow the knee to the pope, 25:31 we will not bow the knee to the prelate to 25:33 the cardinal to the priest, we will stand for the 25:36 word and for Jesus Christ, the living word, 25:39 but if you said that friends you would be killed. 25:42 You would be what word did I say? Killed. 25:43 Killed, now a very important word that occurs 25:46 numerous times in Revelation chapter 13, 25:48 if you are paying attention what cause? 25:50 What word is that? Cause. Cause! 25:52 He causes, he causes, he causes and that exactly 25:56 what was taking place during the dark ages. 25:58 People will be enforced, they were being 26:00 compelled, they were being caused. 26:02 What word? Cause! To worship God in a 26:05 certain way. Now, when all of this was going on, 26:09 something like 50 to a 100 million let me say 26:12 those words again. Fifty to a hundred million 26:15 people were killed, murdered for the 26:18 heresy of not accepting the teachings of 26:21 the church over the Bible. Amen. Friends, 26:23 you know, what that means? It means it 26:25 every person in this room would have been 26:28 murdered in those days. Amen. 26:29 You understanding, yes or no? Amen. Friends, 26:31 it used to mean something to be a Christian, amen. 26:34 Amen. See what it means today as you went 26:36 down to the Christian book store and you got 26:38 yourself one of those little silver fish and you 26:40 will put it on the back of your Honda Accord 26:42 and now you are a Christian, you with me? 26:45 But it has not only has been so easy. 26:47 It's not just as easy as getting a little bracelet, 26:49 it says, W.W.J.D., friends in those days, 26:53 if you would have hold to the believe said, 26:55 you hold to now in this room, you would have 26:57 been exterminated and perhaps your entire 26:59 family right before your eyes in the name 27:02 of the church. The dark ages, appropriately name, 27:07 yes or no? Yes, amen. Now, John says, 27:11 notice this remember we are seeing this in 27:13 cinematic vision. John says, there in verse 10. 27:16 "He that leads into captivity will go into 27:21 captivity, notice the next part, 27:23 he who kills with the sword must be killed 27:26 with the sword." Now, follow that very carefully, 27:29 John is watching the career of this first beast, 27:32 it is reeking have it on God's people on God's 27:35 truth, it is just tyrannical and disported in 27:39 it's career and John is watching, watching, 27:41 watching, watching, one thousand, two hundred 27:43 and sixty, the long years the people have God 27:45 utterly persecuted and then he sees it go down, 27:49 he sees a what? It have been putting 27:51 people into prison and now itself goes into prison. 27:54 You have been killing with the sword 27:56 and now itself goes down with the sword. 27:59 Now, notice this, when did that take place, 28:02 1798 when did I say? 1798, we just discussed 28:07 that when Berthier. Went into, went into the, 28:12 the priest saints of the Vatican there, 28:14 took the bishop of Rome out of his throne, 28:16 pronounced everything to be public property 28:19 and people said, that's the end of the Roman 28:22 papacy. In 1798 that took place, 28:25 so get this picture in your mind. 28:26 John is watching the clear, the first beast comes, 28:28 comes, comes 1798 down, watch the very next 28:33 thing that John sees, Verse 11, 28:37 "Then, what's that word, what is the word 28:42 then mean? It means at that time, 28:45 isn't it that what it means? The word then 28:48 is a chronological word, it's a, 28:49 it's a time word, he sees the beast going down 28:52 and the very next word we read is, then. 28:54 What's then John? "Then I what? I saw another 29:01 beast. So, how many beasts are we dealing 29:03 with now? Two, two beast, I saw another beast, 29:06 coming up out of the earth. Is that different, 29:08 yes or no? Yes. Significantly different, 29:10 we will comeback to that. And he had two 29:12 horns like a lamb, but he spoke like a dragon." 29:17 Verse 11, is one of the strangest verses in 29:20 all the Bible. It is the only verse that 29:23 I personally know of that contains the word lamb 29:26 and dragon in the same versification. 29:29 Now, let me try to unpack the significance 29:31 of that for you. Who is the lamb in scripture 29:34 the lamb slain from the foundation of the world, 29:36 behold the lamb God that take it away this 29:38 sin of the world, who is that? Jesus. Jesus, 29:39 now who is the dragon? Satan. Now, isn't that 29:42 remarkable? Right here in one verse both the lamb 29:46 and Satan occurs. Jesus and Satan and notice that 29:49 this beast is described just having the twin 29:52 characteristics of both of these powers. 29:54 Now, that seems almost impossible, doesn't it? 29:56 I said, doesn't it? Yes. I mean think about the 29:59 significance, he says, I saw this beast coming 30:01 up two horns like what everyone? Lamb. 30:03 Lamb, but he spoke like a. Dragon. Dragon, 30:06 so there is a paradox here, of what word? 30:11 Paradox. How can he be rising like a 30:13 lamb having horns like a lamb and yet speaking 30:16 like the devil himself? Notice the Bible does 30:18 onto describe him, I mean exercise is all the 30:20 authority of the first beast in his presence 30:23 and causes, what's that word? Causes. Causes, 30:27 the how many people. The earth and those who 30:31 dwell in it to worship. Quick question, 30:34 can you cause somebody to worship in spirit 30:40 and in truth? No, no. The answer is no, 30:42 that's a salient point that we must note here, 30:46 it is impossible to cause somebody to worship. 30:49 Jesus for examples says, in Matthew chapter 11, 30:51 come unto me all you that labor and are heavy 30:54 laden, he rues, he invites, he gives the invitation, 30:58 but Jesus never friends getting in the headlock, 31:01 twist the arm, knee on the back, now worship me, 31:04 it just wasn't happened, does it? No, no. 31:06 That's not our God, amen. Amen. 31:08 He is a gentlemanly God, yet remarkable the 31:11 second beast is described as causing the earth 31:15 to what's that word? Worship. Worship, 31:17 what a strange Jaxta position? 31:20 How can you cause to worship? 31:23 Notice it goes on here, "He causes the earth 31:25 and those who dwell in it to worship the first 31:27 beast whose deadly wound was healed. 31:29 He performs great signs, so that even 31:31 makes fire come down from heaven on the earth 31:33 and the side of men, we have talked about some 31:34 of those signs and signs will be used rampantly 31:37 and prolifically in the last days to deceive. 31:39 Verse 14, "And he deceives those who dwell 31:41 on the earth by those what? Miracles are signs 31:44 which he was granted to do in the sight of the beast, 31:46 telling those who dwell on the earth to make an 31:48 image to the beast who was wounded by the sword 31:50 and lived." Notice the emphasis is back on the 31:52 first beast. Here it comes again in verse 15, 31:54 "He was granted power to give breath to the 31:56 image of the beast, that the image of the beast 31:58 should both speak and cause as many as would 32:01 not worship the image of the beast should 32:03 be killed." Verse 16, He causes, causes, 32:06 do you see that three times. So, then if I asked 32:10 you in one sentence, what does the second beast do? 32:14 You could say it just like this; 32:15 he causes the earth to worship the first beast. 32:19 Amen, amen. Are you comfortable with that, 32:21 yes or no? Amen. That exactly what John is 32:23 communicating, the first beast comes up reigns 32:26 for one thousand, two hundred and sixty years 32:27 goes down another beast comes up, 32:29 he appears to be lamb like, Christ like, 32:31 but he speaks like a dragon and he causes 32:34 the people the whole earth to worship the 32:37 first beast. You understand Revelation chapter 13, 32:40 now it's just a matter of plugging in the pieces. 32:42 Now, before we go one moment further, 32:44 let me just ask you a question here. 32:45 Do you feel like you understand the overview 32:48 of the chapter, yes or no? Raise your hands high 32:49 to heaven. Okay, good it's not difficult to grasp, 32:52 is it. Much in Revelation is not difficult to grasp, 32:55 now don't give me that brother, if, 32:57 if I do that I will be in trouble, I will start 32:59 whipping it all over me, I have clean accept to my 33:01 face and will be, okay. Here we go, 33:04 so the second causes the earth to worship the 33:07 first beast, that's the whole point, 33:09 who then is this earth beast, 33:11 let's put it altogether. Let's note several facts 33:13 from the Biblical record. Number one, 33:15 where does this beast arise, you tell me. Amen. 33:18 What is arise out of the earth? 33:20 Now, you say what's the significance of that's very 33:22 easy actually. Now, sea is there where the first 33:25 beast grows and sea is a water represents 33:28 peoples multitudes, nations, and languages, 33:30 namely a populated area, amen. Amen, amen. 33:34 Now, this beast rises up, not out of the sea, 33:36 but out of the earth. Now, if sea represents a 33:39 populated area by, by logical inference 33:42 and even if we have time we can go to 33:43 Revelation chapter 12 and demonstrate it Biblically, 33:45 what happens there friends is that land then 33:49 represents the antitheists or the opposite 33:51 of that namely a sparsely populated area, 33:55 you with me, yes or no? Amen. 33:57 So, sea populated area and land a relatively 34:01 unpopulated area. Now, when does this beasts 34:04 arrive, we have already mail that when right on 34:06 the head. It arises sometime around 1798, 34:10 are you comfortable with that, yes or no? Amen. 34:13 Now, why do I say that? Because John saw 34:17 the memories sort of in cinematic chronology 34:20 there, he sees one beast, one beast, one beast, 34:22 goes down and then he sees another beast 34:24 coming up, comfortable yes or no? Amen. 34:25 So, sometime around 1798, number three, 34:28 how does this beast arrives? 34:30 Does this beast have the predatory 34:34 or characteristics of the other beast, 34:37 the other beast that we described as lions 34:40 and bears and leopards and ferocious beast 34:43 with iron teeth. This beasts doesn't sound 34:45 anything like that friends, the only thing we have 34:47 here is a lamb. A what everyone? Lamb. 34:49 A Lamb and notice what it says there in verse 11, 34:52 then I saw another beast coming up out of the earth. 34:55 Now, I wish I had time to go into to etymology 34:57 of this word here, but, but the Greek word here 34:59 is the same word that is used to 35:01 describe a plant. When it is just beginning to grow 35:04 and how does a plant grow, violently? No. 35:06 How does a plant grow? Silently, almost unabsorbed 35:11 you know you come out one day and if you plant 35:13 at your garden there are no plant you come up 35:15 the next day and there is just these little things 35:17 and you come out a week later and they are just 35:19 a little bigger and a little bigger, if you sat there 35:21 and watch the plant you couldn't tell it was 35:24 growing but over time it grows silently almost 35:27 imperceptive, you are with me yes or no? 35:29 Yes. So this beast wouldn't be conquering another 35:32 power and displacing them and disquieting them, 35:35 it would be silently, quietly, almost imperceptibly 35:39 coming to the forefront, okay. So, then where does 35:42 it arise out of the earth relatively unpopulated 35:44 area? So we can't look forward in the old world 35:46 of Europe where all the other beasts were 35:48 coming up because that was the sea. 35:50 When does it arise around 1798, 35:52 and how does it arise? Quietly almost 35:54 imperceptibly! Are well all together so far yes or no? 35:58 You are putting the pieces together. 35:59 Who then is the second beast? Well let us notice 36:01 a couple other points. Note with me that 36:04 there are no crowns on the horns of the 36:06 second beast, there are no what 36:08 word did I say? Crowns! Crowns! 36:09 now did the first beast have crowns? 36:11 Yes! Yes and we've already learned that 36:14 horn in this context represents power 36:17 and strength and what does the crown represent? 36:20 King! King, that's right, nobility and royalty 36:23 and if you put a crown on a horn you have kingly 36:26 authority, a claim to kingly authority. 36:29 Now remarkably this beast that comes up like 36:31 a lamb does not have a crown now that almost 36:35 stands to reason. Let's walk through something 36:37 here very quickly the word lamb occurs less than 30 36:39 times in the New Testament something like 29 times, 36:42 26 of those times I believe are in the book of 36:44 Revelation, 26 times lamb in Revelation 36:47 and it refers to guess what? Jesus in every single 36:53 instance except one and you just read it. 36:57 The only instance, the only usage of the word lamb 37:00 that does not referred to Jesus is the one you 37:03 just read, it refers to this lamb like beast. 37:06 Now if it's a lamb like beast what do you 37:09 think John is trying to communicate? 37:11 That it's a beast like Jesus. In other words 37:15 it would espouse Christian principles. 37:19 Now did Jesus ever cause people to worship him? 37:23 No, no, no, Jesus said things like this in 37:25 Luke Chapter 4 beginning around Verse 16, 37:27 he said I am come to set at liberty the captives, 37:31 said he what? Liberty! Liberty, 37:33 John Chapter 8, if the suns will make you free, 37:35 you shall be free indeed, now Matthew 11 37:38 come unto me, all you who labor and 37:40 are heavy laden. John Chapter 12, 37:41 And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, 37:42 I will drive all people to me. Draw. 37:45 What is that I will, draw all people to me, 37:47 so Jesus woos he invites, he gives the invitation 37:51 to come and to worship him but this beast causes 37:54 and forces, this beast would espouse Christian 37:59 like principles, it's lamb like there are no horns, 38:02 no crowns rather on those horns symbolizing 38:05 not an oligarchy not a monarchy but a different 38:09 kind of beast all together no kings here. 38:13 Now remember that that second beast did 38:15 have crown, so the first beast did have crown 38:17 so we've already discovered 38:19 that those crowns indicate kingly authority 38:22 so there would be no claim to kingly authority 38:24 with this first or second beast rather, okay. 38:27 Amen, amen. We are all on the same page, 38:29 well who then is the earth beast, 38:31 if we put all the pieces together it is not difficult 38:33 to surmise, who this beast is. 38:35 Let's go through them quickly and then 38:36 we'll identify the second beast, who is this beast, 38:39 well he arises around 1798 in a relatively 38:44 unpopulated area, a young nation because 38:47 it was rising like a plant coming up freshly, 38:50 silently, imperceptibly without a king. 38:53 Without a what? A king. 38:55 And it would eventually attain what kind of power? 38:57 Now how do I know that it would attain world 39:00 power? That's exactly right Pastor Jason, 39:03 let's go look at Revelation Chapter 13 again, 39:05 Revelation Chapter 13 again there are numerous 39:07 passages but notice with me just verse 12 39:09 and he exercises all the authority of the first beast 39:12 in his presence and causes South Dakota, 39:15 causes Michigan causes what everyone? 39:20 The earth! The earth now only a worldwide 39:24 power could cause the earth to do anything, amen. 39:27 Amen. I mean let's speak on my good friend 39:29 Andrea who is here today, so I'm gonna pick on him. 39:31 Andrea is from the Dominican Republic, 39:32 now I have been in the Caribbean 39:35 and it's beautiful and I'm sure the Dominican 39:36 people are great people, I don't even know 39:38 who the governor is but I am keeping myself on 39:39 a big trouble but I am gonna try it here. 39:40 Can you imagine if whoever the ambassador 39:43 or the leader or the Prime Minister, 39:44 whoever is in the Dominican Republic 39:46 made a decree that all the world had to start 39:50 eating rice and wheat, they made this decree 39:53 it's an official decree, the world must start 39:55 eating rice and wheat, would you start? 39:57 Amen. You know what you would say, 39:59 where is the Dominican Republic, 40:03 you understand friends we are not dealing 40:05 with just some small country here that 40:08 has limited influence, it might be a 40:10 beautiful country, a wonderful country 40:11 and there is no doubt but we are not dealing 40:13 with some small country that has limited power, 40:16 limited authority and limited influence, amen. 40:20 Amen. This must be a worldwide power 40:23 that can cause the earth, you are with me yes or no? 40:27 Yes. So, we affirm them, number one it arises 40:29 around 1798, number 2 in a relatively 40:31 unpopulated area, number three a young nation, 40:33 number 4 without a king that would eventually 40:34 attain the world power, now friends who is this? 40:38 Who could this possibly be, you don't have to 40:40 be a Jason Seiber, you don't have to be 40:42 a historical poly map to know the answer 40:44 to this one friends', who is this? 40:46 Who could this beast be, friends it is exactly 40:51 as you have described, it is in fact the 40:53 United States of America. Does the United States 40:56 of America meet these qualifiers, 40:58 does it fit into each of these qualifiers, 41:01 the answer is yes consider with me here, 41:03 the first constitutional convention Jason 41:06 check my dates here, may 25th 1787 is that 41:10 around 1798, yes or no? Remember John saw one 41:14 going down and as one was on it's way down, 41:16 the other was on it's way up, notice also the 41:18 declaration of independent sign July 4th 1776. 41:22 So does the time element qualify, yes or no? 41:25 Yes. How about the place that it arises? 41:27 Does it arise in a relatively unpopulated area, 41:30 yes or no? Your hitting the nail on the head. 41:32 How about a king in this country? No! No, no, no, 41:35 no kings in this country and if George Bush 41:37 or any other president began to put a crown 41:39 on his head there will be riots in streets, 41:41 you are with me yes or no? Now how about the way 41:44 that this nation grew, did it grow by conquering 41:46 and overtaking and displacing other nations? 41:50 Not so much now let me just give a word here, 41:52 and the reason I give this word is that 41:54 I actually have a significant amount of 41:55 Native American in me, my father was native American, 41:58 we were very unkind and very ungracious 42:01 as a nation to the indigenous peoples 42:03 of this land, amen. Amen. 42:05 And we don't want to discount that but it is true 42:08 though that this nation was not conquered 42:10 so much as it was discovered you are with me 42:12 yes or no? Yes. So does it fit? 42:14 Yes. Now has this nation attained to worldwide 42:19 prominence and power, the answer to that 42:22 is in unequivocal resounding yes 42:25 and think about this for just a moment. 42:28 Friends United States of America has only been 42:30 around about 200 years, other nations that existed they 42:34 have been around thousands of years think about 42:36 nations like Egypt and Greece these nations 42:39 have been around for ever basically, 42:41 are you with me? Amen. Yeah this country is rein 42:43 for just 200 short years and there is no question 42:46 friends that right now we are the preeminent 42:48 potent hyper power of the entire world, 42:51 what we say ghosts. Amen. Are you with me? Amen. 42:54 Think for just example about this most recent 42:56 war in Iraq, he said hey we are gonna go over to Iraq 42:58 and we are gonna start a war and the 43:00 United Nations says no and we said so are you 43:05 with me now? Amen. 43:06 What we say Ghosts. The whole world wants to 43:09 be on our side because of our military power, 43:12 our economic power, our governmental power, 43:16 you know my wife is from Romania you know 43:18 that I was in Romania and I was preaching this message 43:20 and a friend came up to me and he said you know 43:21 we have saying in Romania and that saying that 43:23 when the United States sneezes, 43:25 the world gets the cold. Amen. 43:28 Do you follow me? We are setting the trends 43:31 and what we say ghost friends we are not just 43:34 a super power, we are the super power. 43:37 No I am not saying that that's a great thing 43:39 or a bad thing all I am saying is that's a 43:41 real thing, you are with me? Amen. 43:43 So, does he need all the identifying qualifiers, 43:45 yes or no? Every one of them, locked up, 43:48 now about this thing about being lamb like, 43:51 does this nation espouse lamb like 43:55 Christian principles yes or no? Yes. 43:57 Absolutely friends and let us notice a few of those 44:00 here on the screen. I call to you now from the 44:01 declaration of independence; 44:03 we hold these truth to be self evidence 44:06 that all men are created, what's the next word? 44:08 Equal. Equal, that they are endowed by their? Creator! 44:11 Creator, with certain unalienable rights 44:14 that among these are say with me, life, liberty, 44:17 and the persuasive happiness. Do you believe that? 44:20 Yes. That's what this nation is pounded upon 44:22 in part it's a beautiful document. Amen. 44:24 I believe that the spirit of God help those men to 44:28 write up that document, not that it is an 44:30 inspired document but that it is a powerful document. 44:33 Why because it upholds the great 44:35 Judeo-Christian values of honoring others in 44:38 their pursuits and not causing, what word did I say? 44:41 Causing! Or forcing or compelling, 44:43 notice this one here from the first amendment of 44:45 the constitution. It says congress shall make 44:48 how many laws? No law, respecting the establishment 44:51 of religion or prohibiting the free exercise there up 44:55 and in our common vernacular, 44:57 our common colloquial saying we call this the 44:59 separation of say with me, church and state, 45:03 right? Now why would they be so solid 45:07 and so strong on the separation of church 45:09 and state? Precisely friends because they came 45:10 from the old world, from the what two words 45:12 did I say? Old world! And in the old world the church 45:15 in the state were bed partners, and when the 45:18 church and the state got together they saw 45:20 that it was a sour mixture for those how are 45:22 not in harmony with the state levy religion, 45:25 you are with me now, yes or no? 45:26 And that's what took place during the ages, 45:29 when that first beast, the Roman Church 45:30 stayed basically said to all of the governing powers, 45:33 you enforce our doctrines, you enforce our 45:36 documents, you enforce our decrees 45:38 or else we'll excommunicate. 45:40 Now remember those days even the kings 45:42 and queens many of them didn't have access to 45:44 the Bible and when the Bishop of Rome said 45:46 you'll be excommunicated these men trembled 45:48 in fear before a nation that didn't even have an army. 45:51 Are you understanding? Amen. 45:54 And so they basically became the henchmen 45:56 carrying out the wills and wilds and devices 46:00 of the first beast, the Roman Church state. 46:03 You with me? Amen. 46:05 And we are moving rapidly. When they came to this 46:08 country though our forefathers and 46:10 foremothers said, no, no, no we're gonna put 46:13 church over here and we've gonna put state over 46:15 here and they will be separate. 46:17 Friends in this country you have the greatest right 46:20 in the world, the right to be wrong. Amen. Amen. 46:24 If somebody wanted to start a religion 46:25 and they are gonna worship that pulpit, 46:27 could they do it? Yes, they will. 46:29 Absolutely, and friends we would say that's idiotic, 46:32 that's ridiculous, that is banal in the extreme, 46:35 but we would say in this country you have 46:37 a right to do it. Amen. Amen. 46:39 I think it was George, Thurgood Marshall 46:41 who said your rights end where my nose begins, 46:43 amen, Amen. You can do what you want to do, 46:46 as long as it doesn't infringe upon mind, right. 46:50 Okay, so notice this then we go to the screen again, 46:53 there are two great things, two great liberties 46:56 that make America strong, the secrete of 46:58 Americas strength, number one is civil liberty, 47:01 freedom from a king, number two is religious liberty, 47:06 freedom from a pop, a religious leader that 47:10 insists on the way that he must be worshiped. 47:13 Civil liberty and religious liberty, 47:15 can you say amen? Amen. 47:16 And friends never the twain shall meet. Amen. 47:19 Church here and state here, okay now let's 47:22 continue notice these two quotations very quickly, 47:24 the first is taken is from George Washington 47:26 ever heard of him? Amen. 47:27 Now even you and I know who George Washington 47:30 was right? Who was he? The president! 47:33 First President of the United States of America 47:34 that's right? Where was he born by the way Jason? 47:36 Virginia. What year has he born? 47:41 Oh I put him on the spot. Every man conducting 47:45 himself as a good citizen and being accountable 47:49 to God, what's the next word? Alone! 47:51 Alone for his religious opinions are to be 47:54 protected in worshiping the Deity according 47:56 to the dictates of his own good conscious, 47:58 do you see what he is saying? 47:59 Don't tell me how to worship I will work that out 48:02 between my creator and myself, Amen. 48:05 State has nothing to say about it, 48:07 what can the state say about it, 48:08 notice this one from Benjamin Franklin, 48:10 when religion is good I love this quote it's very 48:13 clever just like Franklin when religion is good 48:15 it will take care of itself, Amen. Amen, 48:17 when it is not able to take care of itself 48:19 and God does not see fit to take care of it 48:21 so that it has to appeal to the civil power 48:22 for support, it's evidence to my mind that 48:24 the cause is a bad one. Amen, 48:26 Do you see what he is saying, you keep the two separate 48:29 and the state doesn't fund religion and the state 48:32 endorse any particular state levied religion? 48:35 Amen. Amen. Powerful, now that's what the Bible says 48:38 when it says that he would have lamb like horns, 48:42 he would espouse these Christian principles 48:44 but what is the rest of that verse hey notice 48:46 with me there in Verse 11 I saw another beast 48:48 coming up out of the earth and he had two horns 48:51 like a lamb and he spoke like...Dragon! 48:55 What did he speak like? A dragon! 48:57 A Dragon, now who is the Dragon? Satan, 48:59 The Dragon is Satan now remember 49:02 before we go to our next slide you all can see it, 49:05 but the television audience cannot yet see it, 49:07 remember what is the purpose of the second 49:11 beast in Revelation Chapter 13, you tell me come on. 49:14 To point! To point to the first beast 49:17 and to what's the word, what's? Cause! 49:19 Cause, you got it. To cause the earth to worship 49:23 the first beast, so then if we have correctly 49:26 identified these two and I believe we have friends 49:27 based on the Bible not on what someone says 49:29 but with the Bible says. Amen. 49:31 If we are correctly identified the first 49:33 beast as the Roman Church State 49:34 and the second best is the United States 49:35 of America then let' just fill in the blanks 49:37 if the first beast or the second beast will 49:40 cause the earth to worship the first beast then 49:42 its just elementary, we just fill in antecedents to 49:44 this pronouns that would mean then that the 49:47 United States will begin formulating alliances 49:50 in which it would causing, urging and moving the 49:53 world to worship honor and give obsessions 49:56 to the Roman Church State. Amen. 49:58 You are with me now? Amen. 50:00 Now you say no way, impossible cannot 50:03 happen in this country separation of church 50:05 and state no, no, no congress will make no law 50:08 respecting religion or prohibiting free exercise 50:10 throughout, it can't happen here, 50:11 you must have your interpretation wrong 50:13 Pastor Asscherick remember this friends 50:15 the Bible is the arbiter of reality in history, 50:19 history and reality are not the arbiters of 50:22 the Bible, Amen. If the Bible says it I believe 50:25 and that settles it. Amen, you understand, 50:27 friends Eve was standing at the tree 50:29 and if she would have stood on plain dust 50:31 she would have been saved but she saw that 50:34 the tree was good and that it was nice a tree 50:36 to be desired to make one wise and instead 50:38 of standing on what God had said, 50:40 she stood on what her eyes, her emotions 50:42 and her senses told her and she fell. 50:45 Friends listen very carefully, you might think, 50:47 no, no, no this could never happen in United States 50:49 causing the earth to give obsessions and honor to 50:52 the first beast, the Roman Church State 50:53 but friends it's already happened. Amen. 50:55 Notice this incredible here, this is taken from 50:58 the February 1st 1992 issue of Time Magazine 51:02 right here on the cover Holy Alliance, 51:04 how Reagan and the Pope conspired, 51:07 what word is that? Conspired! 51:08 Conspired to assist Poland's Solidarity movement 51:11 and Hasten the Demise of Communism. 51:15 Now who is involved in this Holy Alliance, 51:18 who are the two powers? Reagan and the Pope! 51:21 The capitalist west the United States 51:23 and the Roman Church State, notice it since 51:26 they conspired that is to say they got together 51:29 to enforce their will on another sovereign 51:32 nation namely in this instance Poland 51:35 and friends what happened in the wake of this 51:38 is that Johannes Paul II who we refer to as the 51:41 Bishop of the Rome of Pope, 51:42 was named the man of the year because of the role 51:45 that he played and in bringing down code 51:48 and code communism but really what had happened 51:50 friends is that you have the big three seas you 51:52 had Catholicism, capitalism, and communism 51:56 and two of this is communism, pardon me capitalism 51:59 and Catholicism that is the United States 52:01 and the Church got together to bring down 52:03 the other sea, so it used to have three seas 52:06 and now you have two seas, you are with me now? Amen. 52:09 By the way that is totally document able 52:12 and that actually what this whole naming him 52:13 as time man of the year was all about, 52:15 he had brought down communism not single 52:18 handedly but with the aid of a nation, 52:20 who was working together, silently, secretly. 52:25 Now friends the only that this is going to happen, 52:27 the only way that the Roman Church state is 52:29 going to be able to receive the obsessions 52:31 and honor of peoples not just the world over 52:34 but right here in the United States is 52:36 if you have a coming together of the churches 52:40 are coming together of the what? Churches! 52:42 Churches that is to say both the catholic churches 52:44 and the evangelical churches you say well fortunately 52:46 that's not happening, well it is happening, 52:48 friends notice this incredible book here on the 52:50 screen evangelical and Catholics together this 52:53 was a 1994 book written by two men, 52:55 one Roman Catholic and one predestine Charles Colson 52:57 and Richard John Neuhaus towards a common mission, 53:00 in what kind of mission? Common! 53:02 See what's happening friends is many churches 53:04 now are uniting on political grounds, 53:07 what kind of grounds because they oppose 53:10 and uphold many of the same things for 53:11 example they oppose abortion and the uphold 53:14 school vouchers and they oppose certain issues 53:17 pornography and others and they are saying 53:20 hey you know you are not so far off after all, 53:22 after all we believe roughly the same things 53:24 and if we unite together we can be a stronger 53:27 and listen to my words carefully, 53:29 a stronger political force, a stronger 53:31 what kind of a force? Political! 53:32 So are we seeing coming together in catholic 53:36 evangelical relations, yes or no? Yes. 53:38 Absolutely, history has never seen a more 53:40 ecumenical pope and the one we have right now, 53:42 Johannes Paul is the second, opening his arms 53:45 and bringing all, now listen I'm all for unity, 53:47 amen. Amen. 53:49 Unity is great, as long as we are unified on a claim, 53:52 thus saith the Lord and not some artificial unity, 53:56 on what a man says or what a church says 53:58 but on what the word says. Amen. 54:00 Alright, so let us continue here, 54:02 notice this incredible, this is taken from the 54:04 November 1 1999 front page of the Washington Post, 54:08 November 1, Nineteen Ninety, what? Nine! 54:11 Five years ago. Lutherans and Catholics 54:13 unite to heal, notice that language, 54:16 to heal 482-year-old division. 54:18 What does the Bible say in Revelation 13:3? 54:21 His deadly wound was healed. 54:24 Are you with me? Amen. 54:26 Friends you know the Washington Post right, 54:28 is that a religious journal? No, no. 54:30 That's one of the preeminent secular 54:32 journals in newspapers of the nation friends 54:34 and notice the language that's being used here. 54:37 Lutherans and Catholics unite and basically 54:39 what they decided was to set the whole 54:40 Protestant Reformation was, oops, a mistake. 54:44 And friends if Martin Luther was alive 54:46 or even if wasn't alive he is rolling in grave. 54:50 The Bible predicts an erosion of our freedoms 54:52 when church and state unite, 54:53 right here in the what? United States. 54:56 United States, right here in our beloved United States. 55:04 Friends we have a decision to make 55:05 and the same decision that we will have to make 55:07 is the decision of the people outside of the 55:09 Roman Praetorium had to make and that is this 55:11 decision. We will choose between Jesus Christ 55:14 or Rome, and what did the people in those 55:18 days say. They cried out we have no king but Caesar. 55:23 Now I want you to know that what I have said 55:24 tonight is very provocative and profound 55:27 and its either wrong or its right? 55:29 Now I happened to believe on the authority 55:30 of the word that it's right. Amen. 55:32 And this is what I'm saying friends 55:33 and make no mistake about it. I don't want to 55:35 equivocate here at the end. 55:36 The United States is already formulating unholy 55:40 alliances with the prophecy, 55:42 those alliances will only increase and grow 55:44 stronger and still stronger and still stronger 55:47 until eventually, the United States will pass 55:50 worldwide laws, what kinds of laws, 55:53 worldwide laws. Do you think we have 55:55 the power and efficacy to do that? Yes. 55:57 It's happening right now causing the earth 55:59 to worship the Roman Church State. 56:02 Friends that's what the Bible says. 56:04 All of this will come to ahead in the mark 56:07 of the beast crisis, the what crisis? 56:10 The mark that you are saying, but wait a minute 56:13 what's the mark of the beast? 56:16 You have to come back tomorrow night, 56:19 amen. Amen. Two questions tonight as we close, 56:21 number one has this message been clear, 56:23 yes or no? Yes. Good. Second question 56:25 and how many of you want to serve the Lord 56:27 Jesus Christ, rather than the antichrist. 56:29 All raise your hands high friends, Amen. 56:31 I'm raising my hand with you, praise Jesus. |
