00:18 Hi, everybody and welcome to this half hour "Praise."
00:22 I am Kelly Mowrer. 00:24 In Jeremiah Chapter 29 verses 11 and 12, we read, 00:28 "I know the thoughts that I think toward you, 00:31 Saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, 00:33 and not evil, to give you an expected end. 00:37 Then you shall call upon me, 00:39 and you shall go and pray unto me, 00:42 and I will hearken unto you." 00:57 I know it may seem hopeless 01:01 The darkness closes in 01:04 You're tired and you're weary 01:08 As you look at where you've been 01:11 You can see the only present 01:15 When you're looking at the past 01:18 You thought things would turn out differently 01:22 Then you hear God say at last 01:26 I know the plans I have for you 01:33 And they are plans to prosper you 01:40 To give you hope and a future 01:44 Lead you on life's journey 01:48 Call on me and I will see you through 01:54 I know the plans I have for you 02:05 The rocks and cliffs may leave some scars 02:09 You thought to leave to Him 02:12 You're desperate and you're broken 02:16 And lives seems all too weird 02:19 The road may take you on a path 02:23 That changes all your plans 02:26 But that's when God takes over 02:29 And says leave it in My hands 02:34 I know the plans I have for you 02:41 And they are plans to prosper you 02:48 To give you hope and a future 02:53 Lead you on life's journey 02:56 Call on me and I will see you through 03:02 I know the plans I have for you 03:09 And though your dreams may have died 03:13 You're hurting inside 03:17 God has something better for you 03:22 And He knows the plans He has for you 03:30 And they are plans to prosper you 03:37 To give you hope and a future 03:41 Lead you on life's journey 03:45 Call on Him and He will see you through 03:51 God knows the plans He has for you 08:14 Great is thy faithfulness, 08:20 O God my father 08:26 There is no shadow 08:31 of turning with Thee 08:37 Thou changes not, 08:42 Thy compassions, they fail not 08:48 As Thou hast been, 08:53 Thou for ever wilt be 08:59 Great is thy faithfulness 09:05 Great is thy faithfulness 09:10 Morning by morning 09:16 new mercies I see 09:21 All I have needed 09:27 thy hand hath provided 09:33 Great is thy faithfulness, 09:39 Lord unto me 09:53 Pardon for sin 09:58 and a peace that endureth 10:04 Thine own dear presence 10:08 to cheer and to guide 10:14 Strength for today 10:18 and bright hope for tomorrow 10:24 Blessings all mine, 10:30 with ten thousand beside 10:36 Great is thy faithfulness 10:42 Great is thy faithfulness 10:47 Morning by morning 10:52 new mercies I see 10:58 All I have needed 11:03 thy hand hath provided 11:09 Great is thy faithfulness 11:15 Great is thy faithfulness 11:21 Great is thy faithfulness 11:27 Lord unto me 11:56 Mr. and Mrs. Stead were married in 1875, 12:00 and they had a little girl, they named Lily. 12:02 When Lily was four years old, Mr. Stead and Mrs. Stead, 12:06 Louisa, decided to spend a family day together 12:09 on a sunny beach at Long Island Sound, New York. 12:12 While they were playing with Lily 12:14 and eating their picnic lunch, 12:15 they suddenly heard someone crying for help. 12:18 And they saw a boy drowning in the sea. 12:20 Mr. Stead ran into the water to help him, 12:23 but the boy struggled so desperately that he pulled 12:26 Mr. Stead under the water with him. 12:28 And they both drowned 12:30 as the reason Lily watched horrified. 12:32 After that terrible day and the--and the weeks 12:36 and the months that followed, 12:37 Louisa followed the words of God. 12:40 She cast her burden on the Lord and she found that 12:43 He is the only thing that sustained her. 12:45 And out of that experience, came her testimony 12:48 that she wrote for all of us to be comforted by. 12:50 Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus 12:54 Just to take Him at His Word 12:56 Just to rest upon His promise 12:59 Just to know, "Thus saith the Lord" 13:02 Jesus, Jesus, how I trust Him 13:04 How I've proved Him o'er and o'er 13:07 Jesus, Jesus, precious Jesus 13:11 Oh, for grace to trust Him more 16:14 He is able, more than able 16:23 To accomplish what concerns me today 16:30 He is able, more than able 16:38 To handle anything that comes my way 16:45 He is able, more than able 16:52 To do much more than I could ever dream 17:00 He is able, more than able 17:07 To make me what He wants me to be 17:14 He is able, more than able 17:23 To accomplish what concerns me today 17:29 He is able, more than able 17:37 To handle anything that comes my way 17:43 He is able, more than able 17:51 To do much more than I could ever dream 17:58 He is able, more than able 18:06 To make me what He wants me to be 18:14 And when I think of all His wisdom 18:18 I'm the scope of His plan 18:22 I can only fall down on my knees 18:25 And realize what I got 18:31 That He is able, more than able 18:41 To do much more than I could ever dream 18:49 He is able, more than able 18:59 To make me what He wants me to be 19:23 Whether we are sitting and listening 19:24 as Melissa King plays that hymn of Louisa Stead's 19:29 "Jesus, Jesus, how I trust Him. 19:32 How I've proved Him o'er and o'er." 19:34 Or if we're listening to Jennifer singing, 19:37 "My God is able, more than able to accomplish 19:41 what concerns me today." 19:42 All of us can say with Paul, 19:45 "God will supply all my needs according to His riches 19:49 and glory by Christ Jesus." 19:53 Nearly 100 years ago, an unknown in Meir, 19:56 in an insane asylum was carried to his grave. 19:59 Afterward in his room, penciled on the wall 20:03 were found some lines of poetry that people believed 20:07 must have been in some moment of sanity 20:09 adapted from an old Jewish poem written 20:12 in 1096 by Rabbi Meir in Germany. 20:15 The words on that unknown insane asylum in Meir's room 20:19 were these, "Could we with ink the ocean fill. 20:23 And were the skies of parchment made, 20:26 were every stalk on earth a quill 20:29 and every man a scribe by trade. 20:32 To write the love of God above, would drain the ocean dry. 20:37 Nor could the scroll contain the whole, 20:41 though stretched from sky to sky." 20:43 And in 1917, a man named, Frederick Lyman 20:48 took a break from his work. 20:49 And he pushed an old lemon box up against a wall. 20:52 And sat down with the stub of pencil 20:54 and a piece of scrub paper and added two versus 20:57 in a chorus to that in Meir's poem. 21:00 The love of God is greater far 21:02 Than tongue or pen could ever tell 21:05 It goes beyond the highest star 21:08 And reaches to the lowest hell 21:10 It reaches you and it reaches me 21:13 The guilty pair, bowed down with care 21:16 God gave His Son to win 21:18 The erring child He reconciled 21:22 And pardoned from his sin 21:24 The love of God, how rich and pure 21:26 How measureless and strong 21:29 It shall forevermore endure 21:31 The saints' and angels' song 24:11 During eternity, we'll get to sit and talk with each other, 24:15 sharing the stories of how God has brought us 24:18 safely to be with Him forever. 24:21 The love and the faithfulness of God will be something 24:24 that we will continually praise Him for. 24:26 Listen now as we call this with Darrell singing, 24:30 "No one ever cared for me like Jesus." 24:39 I would love to tell you what I think of Jesus 24:47 Since I found in Him a friend so strong and true 24:54 I would tell you how He changed my life completely 25:01 For He did something that no other friend could do 25:11 No one ever cared 25:16 for me like Jesus 25:26 There's no other friend 25:31 so kind as He 25:39 No one else could take the sin 25:46 and darkness from me 25:56 O how much He care for me 26:04 For how much He care for me 26:09 Everyday He comes to me with new assurance 26:16 And more and more I understand His words of love 26:23 And I'll never know just why He came to save me 26:30 Till someday I see His blessed face above 26:40 No one ever cared 26:44 for me like Jesus 26:54 There's no other friend 26:58 so kind as He 27:08 No one else could take the sin 27:15 and darkness from me 27:23 O how much He care for me 27:31 O how much He care for me 27:38 O how much He care for me 27:49 O how much He care for me |
