00:20 Hi and welcome to Praise. I am Kelly Mowrer.
00:24 In Psalms 37 verse 3 and 4 we read, 00:27 "Trust in the Lord, 00:28 and do good so shalt thou dwell in the land, 00:32 and verily thou shalt be fed. 00:35 Delight thyself also in the Lord 00:36 and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. 00:41 Sometimes in our selfish and sinful hearts, 00:45 we might be tempted to think that these verses somehow mean 00:48 that if we do enough good things that are pleasing to God. 00:52 He'll give us everything that we most want, 00:54 the desires of our heart. 00:56 But what I think these verses are 00:58 really trying to teach us, 00:59 is that when we find our source of joy 01:03 comes from our friendship with God 01:05 automatically every longing in our heart is satisfied 01:08 and every desire is fulfilled. 01:12 The story is told of a happy Christian 01:13 who met an Irish peddler one day and he said to him, 01:16 it is a grand thing to be saved. 01:19 I said the peddler it is, but I think 01:22 something is equally as good as that. 01:26 Well, what can possibly equal salvation? 01:30 The companionship of the man who has saved me was the answer. 01:35 In Psalms 16:11, we read, 01:37 "Thou will show me the path of life 01:40 in thy presence is fullness of joy 01:44 at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore." 01:56 I've just been with Jesus 02:01 I've just seen His glory 02:07 I've just felt His presence 02:13 As I feel it now 02:18 He is all along for 02:24 There is no one I desire more 02:29 For I've just been with Jesus 02:35 And I am with Him now 02:41 Here in this place My soul is said is fine 02:49 You have erased 02:53 The wounds I tried so hard to hide 03:01 I'm learning hard to bend in on my fears 03:10 Each time I need to heed 03:15 I've just been with Jesus 03:20 I've just seen His glory 03:26 I've just felt His presence 03:32 As I feel it now 03:37 He is all along for 03:43 There is no one I desire more 03:48 For I've just been with Jesus 03:54 And I am with Him now 04:05 Nothing but you 04:09 That's all my eyes can see 04:14 Finally, I found the place my heart 04:22 Has long to be my own desires 04:29 They don't made away anymore 04:35 My will, my life is Yours 04:39 I've just been with Jesus 04:45 I've just seen His glory 04:51 I've just felt His presence 04:56 As I feel it now 05:02 He is all along for 05:07 There is no one I desire more 05:13 For I've just been with Jesus 05:19 And I am with Him now 05:30 I've just been with Jesus 05:36 And I'm with Him now 05:56 There was once a very talented young man, only 23 years old, 06:01 who had an incredibly hard decision to make. 06:03 He had received a job offer 06:06 for his secular singing position in New York City 06:09 with the great salary and wide respect. 06:13 He could either accept that job 06:15 or he could continue singing in churches 06:17 and for Christian radio programs. 06:20 Sitting down at the piano to prepare a hymn 06:22 for church that weekend, 06:24 he found a copy of a poem by Ray F. Miller 06:28 and he began to compose the music to go with it. 06:32 George Beverly Shea sang that song 06:34 for his father's church service 06:36 that week for the very fist time. 06:39 And then he spent the rest of his life singing it 06:42 around the world. "I'd rather have Jesus." 06:53 I'd rather have Jesus 07:00 than silver or gold 07:05 I'd rather be His 07:10 than have riches untold 07:15 I'd rather have Jesus 07:20 than houses or lands 07:25 I'd rather be led 07:30 by His nail-pierced hand 07:35 Than to be the king of a vast domain 07:45 Or be held in sin's dread sway 07:56 I'd rather have Jesus than anything 08:06 This whole world affords today 08:22 I'd rather have Jesus 08:27 than men's applause 08:32 I'd rather be faithful to His dear cause 08:42 I'd rather have Jesus 08:47 than worldwide fame 08:52 I'd rather be true to His holy name 09:02 Than to be the king of a vast domain 09:13 Or be held in sin's dread sway 09:24 I'd rather have Jesus than anything 09:35 This whole world affords today 10:19 A tender heart Is all He need's 10:25 To send His love where love's in need 10:31 A tender heart a humble spirit 10:38 He will never castaway 10:43 So take your heart Give it all to Jesus 10:49 Jesus is the one Jesus is the way 10:54 Only the light the light of Jesus 11:02 Can chase all your darkness away 11:10 A tender heart that's open wide 11:16 He knows you thoughts So please don't hide 11:21 He feels your pain He longs to heal you 11:28 And make you whole again 11:33 So take your hands and reach out to Jesus 11:39 Jesus is the one Jesus is the way 11:44 Only the light the light of Jesus 11:52 Can chase all your darkness away 12:00 Only the light the light of Jesus 12:06 Can chase all your darkness away 12:23 What is your heart longing for today 12:25 if you could just have anything you wanted? 12:28 What do you think would fully satisfy you 12:30 and give you rest and peace? 12:34 A wise man once asked a young teenager, 12:37 when do you think a man is rich enough? 12:40 The young man replied, when he has a million dollars. 12:43 No, the wise man answered. 12:46 Two million asked the guy? No. 12:49 Ten million? No. 12:52 Thinking to settle this once and for all, 12:55 the young man said, a hundred million. No. 13:00 Young man can't believe, I give up 13:01 he said, when is a man rich enough? 13:05 And soberly that wise old man answered, 13:08 when he has a little more 13:09 than he already has and that is never. 13:13 There is only one way to be rich enough. 13:17 "To light thyself in the Lord, 13:19 and He shall give the desires of thine heart." 13:33 [Music] 17:01 Lord you're my everything 17:05 My highest joy and pride 17:10 You meet my needs in everywhere 17:15 With grace that's our tears finds 17:24 Lord you're my everything 17:28 My food and drink today 17:33 You lead to the rocks and meadows green 17:38 And guide in a special way 17:48 Since I'm your own precious sheep 17:53 You watch me then when I sleep 17:58 You've become my only Lord 18:03 You always lift me when I fall 18:12 Lord you're my everything 18:17 My highest joy and pride 18:22 You meet my needs in everywhere 18:28 With grace that's our tears finds 18:41 Lord you're my everything 18:45 My highest joy and pride 18:50 You meet my needs in everywhere 18:55 With grace that's our tears finds 19:04 Lord you're my everything 19:08 My shelter refuge friend 19:13 You're my great in every triumph 19:18 Whose blessings never end 19:27 You live with only in the night 19:32 You feel me with completely right 19:37 Your presence feels my heart with joy 19:43 Which nothing ever can destroy 19:51 Lord you're my everything 19:55 My highest joy and pride 20:01 You meet my needs in everywhere 20:07 With grace that's our tears finds 20:40 Sir Walter Riley was continuously submitting 20:43 request to Queen Elizabeth on behalf of prisoners. 20:47 Once the queen said to him, 20:48 Sir Walter when will you stop being a beggar. 20:52 And Sir Walter answered 20:53 when your majesty ceases to be a giver. 20:57 God is the biggest most generous giver 20:59 we will ever know, 21:01 and He has promised to give us the desires of our heart. 21:04 If only the desires of our heart 21:06 would be to go closer and closer to Him everyday. 21:11 "Nearer, still nearer, while life shall last 21:14 till safe in glory my anchor is cast 21:18 through endless ages ever to be. 21:20 Nearer, my Savior, still nearer to Thee" 21:37 [Music] 24:29 He came in weakness though He was strong 24:36 Offered forgiveness though we were wrong 24:43 A loving Shepherd seeking the lost 24:50 For only Jesus could bear the cross 25:08 Though we were guilty He took our place 25:15 Condemned, unworthy he gave us grace 25:22 No greater passion that we can know 25:29 For only Jesus could love us so 25:36 No other truth no other way 25:43 No other name worthy of praise 25:50 No other hope for eternal life 25:58 Only Jesus Lord Jesus Christ 26:07 So many voices the world has heard 26:16 So many choices one Living Word 26:23 One great Redeemer for all our sin 26:30 For only Jesus could rise again 26:38 No other truth no other way 26:45 No other name worthy of praise 26:52 No other hope for eternal life 27:00 Only Jesus Lord Jesus Christ 27:07 Redemption's story one day complete 27:14 All nations worship at Jesus feet 27:21 One mighty chorus His praises sing 27:29 For only Jesus is Lord and King 27:36 For only Jesus 27:40 For only Jesus is Lord, our King 27:53 Only Jesus |
