00:18 Hello and welcome back to Praise. I'm Kelly Mowrer.
00:21 There's a story told about an old Indian chief who constantly 00:25 spoke of the Lord Jesus and how much he meant to him. Why do you 00:29 talk about Jesus so much, asked a friend. The old chief didn't 00:33 answer but he slowly and deliberately gathered up some 00:37 sticks and bits of grass and made a circle of them. Inside 00:40 the circle he placed a caterpillar. Still not saying 00:44 anything he struck a match and he lit the sticks and the grass. 00:48 Then they watched the caterpillar. As the fire caught 00:50 around the circle, the trapped caterpillar began to crawl 00:53 around rapidly seeking a way to escape and as the fire advanced 00:57 the helpless caterpillar raised his head as high as it could. 01:01 If the creature could have spoken it might have said, my 01:03 help can only come from above. Then the old chief stooped down 01:07 and he extended his finger and the caterpillar crawled up onto 01:11 his finger to safety. And that, said the chief, was what the 01:15 Lord Jesus did for me. I was lost in my sin, my condition was 01:20 hopeless, I was dying, I was trapped. Then the Lord Jesus 01:24 stooped down in his love and his mercy and he drew me out 01:28 of that horrible pit of sin and shame. So how can I help but 01:32 love him and talk of his wondrous love and care? 01:36 Remember the shepherds. The Bible says they were sore afraid 01:40 they were very afraid, they were terrified and the angel's answer 01:43 to their great fear was the wonderful news that a Savior 01:47 had been born, a Savior for all people. They called it good 01:51 tidings of great joy; not just a little passing joy and not 01:55 just mild happiness, but great joy. To the shepherds who felt 02:00 great fear came this good news that brought them great joy. 02:04 It's the joy of freedom, the joy of salvation and deliverance, 02:09 the joy of a Savior. If anybody watching right now today is 02:14 feeling trapped and overwhelmed and weak and afraid, for these 02:18 next few minutes we're going to spend some time remembering 02:23 that we, you, me, we have a Savior; someone to help us in 02:28 every need, someone to set us free by his grace and bring us 02:33 to safety. 02:34 Diane Anders No One Cared For Me Like Jesus 02:45 I would love to tell you what I think of Jesus 02:55 since I found in him a friend so strong and true. 03:06 I would tell you how he changed my life completely. 03:16 He did something that no other friend could do. 03:26 No one ever cared for me like Jesus. 03:38 There's no other friend so kind as he. 03:50 No one else could take the sin and darkness from me. 04:04 Oh how much he cares for me. 04:15 All my life was full of sin when Jesus found me. 04:24 All my heart was full of misery and woe. 04:34 Jesus placed his strong and loving arms around me 04:42 and he led me in the way that I should go. 04:52 Every day he comes to me with new assurance. 05:02 More and more I understand his words of love. 05:12 But I'll never know just why he came to save me 05:22 till someday I see his blessed face above. 05:33 No one ever cared for me like Jesus. 05:44 There's no other friend so kind as he. 05:55 No one else could take the sin and darkness from me. 06:10 Oh how much he cares for me. 06:46 I know there have been times in my life when I have felt nearly 06:50 overwhelmed with a sense of my own sinfulness. I'm not an 06:54 innocent caterpillar needing rescue. My hands and my heart 06:57 are black and I've made my own problems, so many of them, 07:01 and I deserve to pay the consequences. You know the 07:05 Apostle Paul addresses that very point in Romans 8. There's one 07:08 definition of the word mercy is treating someone better than 07:12 they deserve and Paul writes, It's hard to imagine someone 07:16 being willing to die for another person, even a good person, but 07:20 see how Christ demonstrates his love for us because while we 07:24 were yet sinners Christ died for us. 07:30 Melody Firestone Mercy Said No 07:45 I was just a child when I felt the Savior leading. 07:53 I was drawn to what I could not understand 08:01 and for the cause of Christ I have spent my days believing 08:07 that what he'd had me be is who I am. 08:14 And as I've come to see the weaker side of me 08:22 I realize his grace is what I'll need when 08:30 sin demanded justice for my soul 08:39 Mercy said no, I'm not going to let you go 08:45 I'm not going to let you slip away 08:49 You don't have to be afraid. Mercy said no. 08:56 Sin will never take control. 08:59 Life and death stood face to face, 09:05 Darkness tried to steal my heart away. 09:11 Thank you, Jesus, Mercy said no. 09:22 For God so loved the world That he sent his son to save us. 09:29 From the cross he built a bridge to set us free. 09:35 Oh but deep within our hearts There is still a war that rages 09:44 and makes the sacrifice so hard to see. 09:50 As midnight fell on crucifixion day, 09:57 The light of hope seemed oh so far away 10:04 as evil tried to stop redemption's glow 10:12 Mercy said no. I'm not going to let you go. 10:21 I'm not going to let you slip away 10:24 You don't have to be afraid. 10:28 Mercy said no, Sin will never take control. 10:36 Life and death stood face to face. 10:41 Darkness tried to steal my heart away. 10:47 Thank you, Jesus. Mercy said no. 10:52 And now when heaven looks at me 10:57 It's through the blood of Jesus 11:04 Reminding me of one day long ago 11:10 Mercy said no, I'm not going to let you go. 11:17 I'm not going to let you slip away. 11:21 You don't have to be afraid. Mercy said no. 11:28 Sin will never take control. 11:32 Life and death stood face to face, 11:38 Darkness tried to steal my heart away. 11:43 Thank you, Jesus. Mercy said no. 11:58 Thank you, Jesus Mercy said no. 12:12 Don and Marlene Colburn Amazing Grace 12:16 Amazing grace! 12:22 How sweet the sound, 12:30 That saved a wretch like me! 12:45 I once was lost, 12:53 but now am found, 13:01 Was blind, but now I see. 13:14 'Twas grace that taught my heart to fear 13:28 And grace my fears relieved; 13:42 How precious did 13:49 that grace appear 13:57 The hour I first believed! 14:14 When we've been there 14:20 ten thousand years, 14:25 Bright shining as the son 14:36 We've no less days 14:42 to sing God's praise Than when we'd first begun. 15:02 Than when we'd first begun 15:23 Psalm 23 sure gives us some beautiful words about amazing 15:29 grace and mercy; how Jesus the shepherd takes complete and 15:35 loving care of us. David writes of his forgiveness, 15:39 his protection, his provision and then he sums it all up 15:43 saying, Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the 15:47 days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord 15:51 forever. 15:56 ¤ ¤ 16:28 In your mercy you have shown me 16:34 your salvation. Undeserving of your favor 16:45 I am free and I'll never be the same. 16:56 All my life I will remain 17:02 in your mercy, 17:06 tender mercy, shown to me. 17:17 In your mercy you have promised 17:24 to be near me. 17:29 I am resting in the shelter 17:34 of your wings. 17:40 Every fear I leave behind, 17:46 Every confidence I find 17:51 In your mercy, tender mercy shown to me. 18:02 So great is your love, 18:08 It is higher than the heavens, 18:12 your faithfulness reaches the sky 18:22 ¤ ¤ ¤ ¤ 18:23 Let your glory be seen in my life. 18:41 In my life. 18:53 ¤ ¤ 19:06 In your mercy you have given 19:12 of your lifeblood 19:17 One last charge beat, and redemption 19:23 was complete, 19:27 was a debt of love you paid. 19:33 with Your death, my soul was saved. 19:43 In your mercy, tender mercy 19:56 shown to me. 20:29 We will never be able to say 20:33 enough about the love and the mercy of God. Like that old 20:37 Indian chief, when we think of what he's done for us, how can 20:41 we keep silent? We'll be singing about it 20:43 throughout all eternity, 20:45 The Love of God, how rich and pure, 20:48 how measureless and strong. It shall forevermore endure 20:52 And be the saints and the angels song. 20:55 Reggie Samuel The Love of God 21:09 ¤ ¤ 21:29 ¤ ¤ 23:32 Above All 23:54 Above all powers, Above all kings, 24:01 Above all nature and all created beings, 24:09 Above all wisdom and all the ways of man 24:16 You were here before the world began. 24:23 Above all kingdoms, Above all thrones, 24:30 Above all wonders the world has ever known, 24:37 Above all wealth and treasures of the earth, 24:44 There's no way to measure what you're worth. 24:51 Crucified, laid behind a stone, 24:59 You lived to die, Rejected and alone. 25:06 Like a rose, trampled on the ground 25:12 You took the fall and thought of me 25:19 Above all. 25:26 Above all powers, Above all kings, 25:33 Above all nature and all created beings, 25:41 Above all wisdom and all the ways of man 25:48 You were here before the world began. 25:55 Above all kingdoms, Above all thrones, 26:02 Above all wonders the world has ever known, 26:08 Above all wealth and treasures of the earth, 26:16 There's no way to measure what you're worth. 26:23 Crucified, Laid behind a stone, 26:30 You lived to die, Rejected and alone. 26:36 Like a rose, Trampled on the ground, 26:44 You took the fall and thought of me 26:51 Above all. 26:57 Crucified, Laid behind a stone, 27:03 You lived to die, Rejected and alone. 27:10 Like a rose Trampled on the ground 27:16 You took the fall and thought of me, 27:23 Above all. 27:27 Like a rose, Trampled on the ground, 27:34 You took the fall and thought of me, 27:41 Above all. |
