00:20 Hello and welcome to Praise. I'm Kelly Mowrer and today we're
00:24 going to spend our time together focusing on the mercy and the 00:27 grace of God. The first chapters of the Bible begin with God 00:31 speaking into existence a world of intricate beauty and promise 00:35 and creating us to live in that perfect world. But Adam and Eve 00:39 chose to turn away from relationship with God and they 00:42 chose to follow after their own idea of what would bring them 00:46 satisfaction and fulfillment and every one of us has been doing 00:49 exactly that in all kinds of ways ever since. 00:52 The relationship between us and God is the only source and 00:56 connection that brings light and life and joy and peace, 01:00 everything we're looking and longing for. And yet that 01:04 relationship was broken through our own sinfulness and we have 01:08 no power to put it back. In Ezekiel 16 God describes Israel 01:13 as being like a helpless newborn baby abandoned in a field lying 01:18 uncared for and covered in blood and then God passes by and he 01:23 looks on this helpless abandoned newborn and says live. 01:28 He pronounces life to someone who will die if they're left on 01:33 their own. To each one of us with our hearts and our 01:36 understanding alienated from God and polluted with sin, to each 01:41 one of us God comes with mercy and he says live. His amazing 01:46 grace has rescued us from our own abandoned hopelessness 01:51 and set us free. 01:53 Wonderful, Merciful Savior Emma McDonald 01:57 Wonderful, merciful Savior Precious Redeemer and friend 02:07 Who would have thought 02:12 that a lamb could 02:16 rescue the souls of men 02:20 Oh you rescue the souls of men 02:28 Counselor, Comforter, Keeper 02:36 Spirit we long to embrace 02:43 Your offer hope when our hearts 02:49 have hopelessly lost our way 02:55 Oh we've hopelessly lost our way 03:01 You are the one that we praise 03:07 You are the one we adore 03:12 You give us healing and grace 03:19 Our hearts always hunger for 03:25 Oh, our hearts always hunger for 03:32 ¤ ¤ 04:06 Almighty, Infinite Father 04:11 Faithfully loving your own 04:17 Here in our weakness you find us 04:23 Falling before your throne 04:30 Oh, Falling before your throne 04:36 You are the one that we praise 04:42 You are the one we adore 04:48 You give us healing and grace 04:54 Our hearts always hunger for 05:00 Oh, our hearts always hunger for 05:06 You are the one that we praise 05:12 You are the one we adore 05:17 You give us healing and grace 05:23 Our hearts always hunger for 05:29 Oh, our hearts always hunger for 06:06 Amazing grace shall always be 06:13 my song of praise 06:18 For it was grace 06:23 that bought my liberty 06:31 And I do not know just how 06:38 he came to love me so 06:45 He looked beyond all of my 06:51 faults and saw my needs 06:58 I shall forever lift 07:03 mine eyes to Calvary 07:09 To view the cross 07:14 where Jesus died for me 07:21 How marvelous that grace 07:27 that caught my falling soul 07:33 He looked beyond my faults 07:40 and saw my needs. 07:49 Amazing grace how sweet, 07:59 how sweet the sound 08:04 that saved, saved a wretch, 08:10 wretch like me 08:19 I once, once was lost 08:25 but now, thank God, I'm found 08:36 was blind but now, now I see 08:47 I shall forever lift, 08:55 lift mine eyes to Calvary 09:03 To view the cross where my Jesus 09:11 He bled and died for you and me 09:19 How marvelous, oh yes, 09:24 that grace that caught 09:29 my falling soul 09:34 Oh, he looked beyond 09:38 all of my faults 09:42 Jesus, he looked beyond 09:46 all of my faults 09:49 He looked beyond 09:55 all of my faults 10:00 and saw my need. 10:21 Because we live in a world where nothing valuable is ever given 10:25 to us for free, I think sometimes we have a hard time 10:28 really understanding God's amazing grace and mercy because 10:32 we still feel like we need to do something to somehow qualify 10:36 and deserve this great gift, but what we really need is the Holy 10:41 Spirit to be opening us up to a deeper understanding about the 10:45 truth of our own helplessness and hopelessness, not only to 10:49 begin walking with God, but to continue. We can't do it in our 10:53 own will power. Jesus said he is the vine, we are the branches 10:56 and apart from him we can do nothing. So we must ask the Holy 11:00 Spirit to continually open our hearts to understand more deeply 11:05 the true meaning of grace, God giving us for free what we could 11:09 never afford. Jesus didn't just make a down payment on the price 11:14 of buying us back as slaves to sin and then leave a balance for 11:18 us to work off. Jesus paid it all. 11:21 Jesus Paid It All Clint McKoy 11:23 I hear the Savior say Thy strength indeed is small 11:33 Child of weakness watch and pray Find in me thine all in all. 11:47 Jesus paid it all. All to him I owe. 11:57 Sin had left a crimson stain, He washed it white as snow. 12:10 Lord now indeed I find Thy power and thine alone 12:19 Can change the leper's spots And melt my heart of stone. 12:34 Jesus paid it all All to him I owe 12:43 Sin had left a crimson stain He washed it white as snow. 13:02 And when before the throne I stand in him complete 13:14 I'll lay my trophies down All down at Jesus feet. 13:25 Jesus paid it all All to him I owe. 13:35 Sin had left a crimson stain He washed white as snow. 13:51 Sin had left a crimson stain He washed it white as snow. 14:07 Amazing Grace Lyndon Carriger 14:12 Amazing grace How sweet the sound 14:18 That saved a wretch like me. 14:30 I once was lost but now I'm found 14:42 Was blind but now I see. 14:52 'Twas grace that taught my heart to fear 15:03 and grace my fears relieved 15:13 How precious did that grace appear 15:23 The hour I first believed. 15:34 Through many dangers toils and snares 15:44 I have already come 15:54 'Tis grace hath brought me safe thus far 16:04 And grace will lead me home. 16:14 When we've been there ten thousand years 16:23 Bright shining as the sun 16:34 We've no less days to seek God's face 16:43 Than when we first begun. 16:59 The songs of eternity will be filled with the amazing grace of 17:05 God. Worthy, worthy is the lamb that was slain. We'll never find 17:11 comfort by working harder to feel worthy of God's love 17:15 because only the lamb is worthy and only his free grace makes 17:20 us holy. 17:23 Were It Not For Grace Sandra Entermann 17:26 Time measured out my days 17:32 Life carried me home 17:40 In my soul I yearned to follow God 17:47 But knew I'd never be so strong 17:52 I looked hard at this world 17:58 To learn how heaven could be gained 18:06 Just to end where I began 18:11 Where human effort is all in vain 18:17 Were it not for grace 18:27 I can tell you where I'd be 18:34 Wandering down some pointless road to nowhere 18:41 With my salvation up to me 18:47 I know how that would go 18:53 The battles I would face 18:59 Forever running but losing this race 19:07 Were it not for grace. 19:15 So here is all my praise 19:22 Expressed with all my heart 19:29 Offered to the friend who took my place 19:36 and ran the course I could not start 19:43 And when he saw in full 19:47 Just how much his love would cost 19:55 He still went the final mile between me and heaven 20:02 So I would not be lost. 20:09 Were it not for grace 20:16 I can tell you where I'd be 20:23 Wandering down some pointless road to nowhere 20:30 With my salvation up to me 20:35 I know how that would go 20:41 The battles I would face 20:47 Forever running but losing the race 20:54 Were it not for grace 21:07 I can tell you where I'd be 21:12 Wandering down that pointless road to nowhere 21:19 With my salvation up to me 21:25 I know how that would go 21:31 The battles I would face 21:36 Forever running but losing the race 21:43 Were it not for grace. 21:49 Forever running but 21:54 losing the race 22:00 Were it not for grace. 22:21 Are you tired of feeling like you're always running but losing 22:25 the race. Do you long for the lasting peace of knowing that 22:29 his grace has brought you safe this far and his grace will lead 22:34 you home. In Psalm 68:28 David prays, Strengthen, O God, that 22:38 which thou has wrought for us. God's grace has worked for us 22:42 the miracle of our salvation and the gift of eternal life with 22:47 him forever. When we ask him to strengthen his grace in us we're 22:51 asking him to strengthen his own work. We're asking him to 22:54 establish the good work that he began in each of our hearts and 22:58 to complete it to his glory. We're not saved by any merit of 23:02 our own and only the author of our faith can finish it. 23:05 We don't work to prepare our hearts to better serve him. 23:09 Instead we plead like David, God change my heart, cleanse 23:14 it, renew a right spirit within me. We don't somehow partner 23:18 with God in the process of grace because we're not able to. 23:22 We're hopelessly locked up in chains until he comes and says 23:26 fear not, I've redeemed you, I've called you by name, 23:29 you are mine. His grace sets us free and brings us safely home. 23:35 Cleanse Me/I Will Serve Thee Ron Woolsey 23:46 ¤ ¤ |
