00:24 Sometimes in my personal worship I like to open the Bible and put 00:28 it on the piano and sit there and play quietly while I read 00:30 the very word of God. I thought today together we would try that 00:34 same thing looking at particularly passages of 00:38 scripture in music on the topic of God's great love for us. 00:43 In Isaiah 53, the prophet wrote, All we like sheep have gone 00:47 astray; we have turned every one to his own way and the Lord hath 00:52 laid on him the iniquity of us all. Surely he hath born our 00:57 griefs and carried our sorrows, yet we did esteem him stricken, 01:02 smitten of God and afflicted, but he was wounded for our 01:06 transgressions; he was bruised for our iniquities. 01:09 The chastisement of our peace was upon him and with his 01:15 stripes we are healed. 01:18 Scars Rudy Mecilli 01:21 I have dreamed to see Christ face to face. 01:29 I have longed to hear his tender voice, 01:36 Of the story of his love for me. 01:44 I will want to ask him tenderly 01:51 Tell me what scars are these 01:58 In your feet and hands 02:00 Tell me what scars are these 02:04 In your face. 02:07 These are wounds with which I have been wounded 02:15 In the house of friends of mine. 02:20 Tell me what scars are these 02:25 in your feet and hands? 02:28 Tell me what scars 02:30 are these in your face? 02:34 He will say, These are 02:39 the marks that tell you 02:43 That I have loved you endlessly. 02:53 ¤ ¤ 03:04 When I think of all my Lord went through, 03:12 Bitter suffering on that rugged cross 03:20 On that day when I get on that shore. 03:28 I will want to ask him more and more. 03:36 Tell me what scars are these 03:39 In your feet and hands? 03:42 Tell me what scars are 03:45 these in your face? 03:48 These are wounds with which 03:52 I have been wounded 03:55 In the house of friends of mine. 04:00 Tell me what scars are these 04:05 in your feet and hands? 04:08 Tell me what scars are 04:12 these in your face? 04:16 He will say these are the marks 04:20 that tell you 04:22 that I have loved you endlessly. 04:34 I'll always love you endlessly. 04:45 Oooo. 05:00 Paul writes in Romans 5, Therefore being justified by 05:05 faith we have peace with God through our Lord Christ Jesus. 05:10 For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ 05:14 died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man 05:18 will one die, yet peradventure for a good man some would even 05:24 dare to die. He hath not dealt with us after 09:03 our sins nor rewarded us according to our iniquities. 09:06 For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy 09:10 toward them that fear him. As far as the east is from the west 09:15 so far hath he removed our transgressions from us and like 09:20 as a father pities his children so the Lord pitieth them that 09:25 fear him, for he knoweth our frame, he remembers that we are 09:29 dust. Listen to these beautiful words 09:31 in Micah 7 verses 18 and 19. Who is a God like unto thee that 09:36 pardons iniquity and passes by the transgression of the remnant 09:41 of his heritage. He retaineth not his anger forever 09:44 because he delights in mercy. He will turn again and he will 09:48 have compassion upon us. He will subdue our iniquities and I will 09:53 cast all their sins into the depths of the sea. 10:00 It's so easy to say I forgive you 10:03 But forgetting is the hardest thing to do. 10:12 Though my mind can't comprehend 10:18 that he could be that 10:20 kind of friend 10:23 On the cross he took my place 10:27 So my sin he could erase. 10:33 He forgives and forgets 10:38 I stand before him holy. 10:44 He cancelled my debts That day at Calvary. 10:52 Now I'm justified, just as if I never sinned, 11:01 And yet, he not only forgives, He forgives and forgets. 11:12 The mercies of the Lord are everlasting 11:18 He forgives my sins and remembers them no more. 11:28 Though it's hard for me to guess 11:32 How far the east is from the west 11:37 On the cross he took my place 11:42 so my sins he could erase. 11:48 He forgives and forgets. Then said Jesus unto them again 14:19 Verily, verily I say unto you I am the door of the sheep. 14:24 All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers, but the 14:29 sheep did not hear them. I am the door. By me if any man enter 14:34 in he shall be saved and go in and out and find pasture. 14:38 A thief cometh not but for to steal and to kill and to destroy 14:44 I am come that they might have life and that they might have it 14:49 more abundantly. I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd 14:52 giveth his life for the sheep. 14:55 Shepherd of My Heart Denise Barclay 14:58 Maker of this heart of mine. Shepherd of my heart. 18:41 I'll trust in you Shepherd of my heart. 18:59 The most well-known Bible passage about the love of God 19:03 was spoken in a private night time conversation between Jesus 19:09 and the Pharisee Nicodemus and it's recorded in John 3:16 & 17. 19:14 For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son 19:19 that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have 19:24 everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to 19:30 condemn the world, but that the world through him might be 19:39 saved. My Lord has garments so wondrous fine 19:47 And myrrh their texture fills. 19:53 It's fragrance reached to this heart of mine 20:05 With joy my being thrills. 20:13 Out of the ivory palaces into a world of woe 20:35 Only his great eternal love made my Savior go. 20:56 ¤ ¤ 21:02 His life had also it's sorrow sore 21:10 For aloes set apart. 21:16 And when I think 21:23 of the cross he bore 21:29 My eyes with teardrops start. 21:40 Out of the ivory palaces 21:48 Into a world of woe. 21:57 Only his great eternal love 22:10 Made my Savior go. 22:23 In garments glorious he will come. 22:32 to open wide the door. 22:40 And I shall enter my heavenly home 22:51 to dwell forevermore. 23:03 Out of the ivory palaces into a world of woe. 23:22 Only his great eternal love 23:36 made my Savior... 24:00 made my Savior go. 24:24 As we close listen to these verses from Romans chapter 8: 24:29 What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us who can 24:34 be against us? He that spared not his own Son but delivered 24:38 his up for us all. How shall he not with him also give us all 24:43 things. Who shall lay anything to the charge of God's elect? 24:47 It's God that justifieth. Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ 24:51 that died, yea, rather that is risen again, who is even at the 24:56 right hand of God who also maketh intercession for us. 25:00 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? 25:03 Shall tribulation or distress or persecution or famine or 25:08 nakedness or peril or sword? As it is written, for thy sake 25:13 we are killed all the day long. We are accounted as sheep for 25:17 the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than 25:22 conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded 25:27 that neither death nor life nor angels nor principalities nor 25:31 powers nor things present nor things to come nor height nor 25:36 depth nor any other creature shall be able to separate us 25:40 from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord 25:59 ¤ ¤ |
