00:21 Hello and welcome to Praise. I'm Kelly Mowrer.
00:23 Thank you for being with me today to hear the beautiful 00:26 music and words of worship for Jesus our Redeemer and Master 00:31 our Savior and Friend. Listen now as we start with Angela 00:36 Bryant Brown singing the beautiful song that is the 00:39 prayer of each of who are part of God's family. 00:42 Lord I Want to Be a Christian Angela Bryant Brown 00:49 Lord I want to be a Christian 00:57 in my heart. 01:05 Lord I want to be a Christian 01:15 in my heart. 01:22 In my heart, in my heart. 01:34 Lord I want to be a Christian 01:42 In my heart. 01:50 Lord I want to be more loving 01:56 in my heart. 02:02 Lord I want to be more loving 02:09 in my heart. 02:16 In my heart, in my heart; 02:28 Lord I want to be more loving 02:34 in my heart. 02:41 Lord I want to be like Jesus 02:49 in my heart. 02:54 Lord I want to be like Jesus 03:01 in my heart. 03:07 In my heart, oh yes in my heart. 03:20 Lord I want to be like Jesus 03:27 in my heart. 03:34 Lord I want to be a Christian 03:41 in my heart. 03:47 Lord I want, I want to be a Christian in my heart 04:01 Yes in my heart, 04:05 oh yes in my heart. 04:13 Mmmm Lord I want to be more loving 04:23 Lord I want to be like Jesus, 04:31 Lord I want to be a Christian 04:39 In my heart 04:59 Notice how Angela's song describes where the real 05:03 indication of Christianity takes place. It takes place in our 05:07 heart. Man looks on the outward appearance but God looks where 05:11 it really matters; inside us to our thoughts and our motives 05:15 and our desires. And when he starts to answer the prayer 05:20 Lord I want to be a Christian and when he begins to make us 05:23 more like him, he starts in our hearts. In Ezekiel 36 God says 05:28 Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you and you shall be clean 05:32 from all your filthiness and from all your idols will I 05:35 cleanse you. A new heart also will I give you and a new spirit 05:40 will I put within you and I will take away the stony heart out 05:44 of your flesh and I will give you a heart of flesh and I will 05:48 put my spirit within you and cause you to walk in my statutes 05:53 and ye shall keep my judgments and do them and ye shall dwell 05:56 in the land that I gave to your fathers and ye shall be my 06:00 people and I will be your God. 06:02 My Redeemer Is Faithful and True Christian Bordahl 06:06 As I look back on this road I've traveled, 06:13 I see so many times he carried me through. 06:21 If there's one thing that I've learned in my life 06:28 Is my Redeemer is faithful and true. 06:34 My Redeemer is faithful and true 06:43 Everything he's said he will do. 06:50 And every morning his mercies are new. 06:58 My Redeemer is faithful and true 07:06 My heart rejoices when I read the promise. 07:19 There is a place that I'm preparing for you. 07:26 I know someday I'll see 07:28 my Lord face to face. 07:31 'Cause my Redeemer 07:33 is faithful and true. 07:39 My Redeemer is faithful and true 07:46 Everything he's said he will do. 07:52 And every morning his mercies are new. 07:59 My Redeemer is faithful and true 08:07 And in every situation 08:11 he's proved his love for me. 08:15 When I lack the understanding 08:19 more grace he gives to me. 08:28 My Redeemer is faithful and true 08:36 Everything he's said he will do. 08:42 And every morning his mercies are new. 08:49 My Redeemer is faithful and true 09:27 What wonderful words of assurance. I know I've shared 09:31 before that my favorite hymn of all time is about the 09:34 faithfulness of God. Great is thy faithfulness oh God my 09:39 Father, morning by morning new mercies I see. But you know 09:43 sometimes it's not real easy to stay focused on the mercies 09:46 of God because sometimes things are going on in our lives that 09:51 are so intense and overwhelming and we never imagined we'd be 09:54 going through something this severe. We try to remember the 09:57 promises. We try to keep putting one foot in front of the 10:00 other. But inside we're growing more and more discouraged. 10:04 What we're facing is so difficult and so dark it seems 10:08 impossible we'll ever get through it. We can't imagine 10:12 how it could be resolved or fixed. I have several songs that 10:17 are particularly comforting to me when I face something like 10:20 this. Listen as my friend Denise 10:23 sings one of my absolute favorites right now. 10:26 He'll Do It Again Denise Barclay 10:29 You may be down and feel that 10:33 God has somehow forgotten 10:38 That you are faced 10:43 with circumstances 10:45 you can't get through. 10:48 Right now it seems there's no way out 10:55 And you're going under. 11:01 God's proven time and time again 11:05 he'll take care of you. 11:09 And he'll do it again He'll do it again 11:19 If you just take a look at where you are now 11:27 and where you've been 11:31 Well hasn't he always come 11:36 through for you. 11:39 He's the same now as then. 11:42 Ah you may not know how and you may not know when 11:48 but he'll do it again. 11:53 God knows the things 11:56 you're going through 11:58 and he knows how you're hurting 12:02 You see, he knows how your 12:08 heart is broken in two. 12:14 Oh but he's the God of the sun the stars and the moon, 12:20 and he is your Father 12:25 You see he can calm the storm 12:28 He'll find a way 12:31 to take care of you. 12:35 And he'll do it again, oh yeah 12:42 he'll do it again 12:45 If you just take a look 12:49 where you are now 12:53 and where you've been. 12:56 Well hasn't he always come through for you 13:02 He's the same now that he was then, yeah 13:08 You may not know how 13:10 You may not know when 13:13 but he'll do it again. 13:18 Oh, he'll do it again He'll do it again 13:26 Oh yeah. Trust his heart. 23:30 Our Redeemer has always been infinitely worthy of our trust. 23:36 He is faithful and true. He's faithful and true to his own 23:40 character and he's faithful and true to fulfill all the many 23:43 promises that he has made; promises not just to be broadly, 23:48 corporately applied to the church as a body, but promises 23:52 made individually to me and to you to meet us in whatever needs 23:57 we face in our lives right now. He's promised to not only save 24:01 us for eternity, but to be our counselor and our guide and 24:05 our protector every day here. He's promised to come into our 24:09 hearts and work there to change us from the inside out. And in 24:14 his faithfulness he will make us a faithful light to the world 24:17 and he will create in us new hearts, truly gentle and loving 24:21 in our homes and humble in our treatment of each other, 24:25 servants in our churches and our neighborhoods. We've spoken 24:30 today of two different ways that God's faithfulness is shown to 24:33 us and both ways are marvelous. First, he's faithful as the 24:37 creator God to write his words and teachings in our hearts; 24:41 faithfully continuing to create in us the clean heart and the 24:45 right spirit. Secondly, he is faithful to us in our 24:49 circumstances. In spite of our weakness and worry, God is 24:53 faithful and even when we can't see the way out or through we 24:57 can trust his heart and know that our Redeemer who has been 25:00 faithful and true will do again what he has promised and he will 25:04 supply all our need according to his riches 25:06 in glory by Christ Jesus. 25:20 ♪ ♪ |
