00:01 And that is good information.
00:02 I wanted to mention that Lukanas Louis is your pianist, 00:06 very, very fine job assisting you. 00:09 Carlot, in the last couple of minutes we have, 00:12 give me some idea of your future plans. 00:15 You're assisting now at Penn State, 00:17 and God has blessed your ministry. 00:19 Amen. You can see that. 00:20 And I say ministry because your music is your ministry. 00:23 And you're using your music for ministry. 00:26 What do you have long-term in your plans? 00:27 I love teaching. 00:29 And one of my goals is to be able to teach 00:31 in our Adventists institution, 00:33 to be able to share music and keep playing, 00:37 and teach in our institution. 00:39 That's one of my goals. 00:41 Let me ask the question, and I tend to ask 00:42 musicians this, you got to give it to me in 30 seconds 00:44 or it's going to be kind of difficult. 00:46 What is the difference or the intersection 00:49 between ministry and performance? 00:51 Is there an intersection? Are they parallel? 00:53 Are they opposed to each other? From your mind... 00:56 In your mind, ministry, performance, are they the same? 00:59 Do they work together? Are they opposed to each other? 01:01 I believe ministry, it's something 01:03 that you do to serve others to... 01:07 And the best way you can serve others 01:08 through music or to any ministry 01:10 is to put God first and to point the glory to God. 01:14 But the difference is in performances, usually, 01:17 when you perform, you try to show off. 01:20 And show off, it's not the best way to do it. 01:22 Ministry is like ministering... 01:25 Whether you're a physician, you try to use your field 01:32 to do good to others. 01:34 To others, okay. 01:36 Or and to uplift God's name if you're a pastor. 01:39 And I believe the music, as a ministry, 01:42 the main focus should be to lift up the name of God. 01:45 Okay. Okay. 01:47 So ministry, other focus, performance, self-focus, 01:53 and of course we want our focus to be on Christ 01:56 and bringing Christ to those who come to hear our ministry. 02:01 Well said. 02:02 In closing, we want to take a look at two things. 02:04 One, the book, From Trauma to Triumph, 02:08 the Carlot Dorve story. 02:09 And the website where you can contact him 02:12 or you can order this book, 02:14 I dare suspect, CarlotDorve.com, 02:17 CarlotDorve.com. 02:20 And you can contact him, and he can come in 02:22 and minister to your congregation or group. 02:24 Well, our time has fast slipped into eternity, 02:26 allow me now in closing to wish you 02:27 both grace and peace 02:29 through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ 02:30 to see again soon, bye-bye, and God bless. |
