00:01 I told you today was gonna be an amazing testimony.
00:03 We've seen how God has used you, Paulo, 00:06 when you prayed as a young boy to be a prophet. 00:11 I think God is using you in such an amazing way 00:15 with the music ministry. 00:17 You said something during the news break to me. 00:19 How you engage the audience in a church, 00:23 tell us your story? 00:25 Well, I believe it's very important, 00:29 when we are singing to know what we are singing. 00:32 But even more than that, how was that conceived? 00:36 How did God impress the composer's mind 00:40 either to write the words or to write music? 00:43 And we have some amazing stories of people 00:47 who wrote their hymns in the moment 00:51 they were the hardest, 00:53 most difficult ones in their lives, 00:56 like Miss Spafford, for instance, 01:01 she was traveling in Ville du Havre, 01:04 going towards England, 01:05 and they were hit by another ship at night. 01:08 And right there, she lost her children 01:13 into the sea, they drown and she'd lost them. 01:17 And they died and she came back to America. 01:20 And two months later, her husband 01:23 had his office burnt and they lost everything. 01:26 And they sat together, they prayed and they said, 01:29 "Lord, impresses our mind to comprehend, 01:33 to understand Your will, because we know 01:36 that everything you do for the ones that trust in You 01:39 are for their good." 01:42 And they sat down, they reflect and they wrote the hymn, 01:44 "It is well with my soul." 01:46 Oh, amen. 01:48 And you see, that shows faith. 01:50 And when you tell a congregation and explain that 01:52 you tell a little bit about the harmony. 01:55 They become a little more acquainted with the music. 01:57 Amen. 01:59 And that does help with worship. 02:01 You had a little poem you wanted to say real quickly. 02:04 Yeah, I understand that music speaks 02:07 what really cannot be expressed. 02:08 It soothes the mind and gives it rest. 02:11 It heals the heart and makes it whole, 02:15 and it flows from heaven to the soul. 02:17 Amen. 02:19 How true. 02:20 Dr. Paulo Torres, thank you so much 02:22 for joining us today. 02:23 We are so glad that you joined us as well. 02:26 I told you, this was gonna be 02:28 a fascinating interview and it was. 02:30 Our prayer for you at home is that the grace of our Lord 02:33 and Savior Jesus Christ, the love of the Father 02:35 and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit 02:38 will be with you not only today, but every day. 02:42 Thanks for joining us. |
