00:01 - In these closing minutes, I want to reiterate how
00:03 important it is for each of us as Christians to be
00:06 involved in ministry and to serve. I want to ask
00:10 Karl to share the importance of serving. - Yeah. I'm
00:16 thinking, years ago, I was out jogging early one
00:20 morning; it was very, very cold. Happened to
00:23 jog past a school and had an opportunity to
00:28 practice my primary spiritual gift of eavesdropping...
00:33 [laughter]...listening in on a conversation
00:35 between two of these kids. The one boy was
00:37 stationed out in the middle of the street
00:40 to assure the safe crossing of his classmates
00:43 and he was wearing this bright orange vest, 10
00:45 sizes bigger than he was. - Right, I can
00:48 see it. - A girl walked in front of him, and
00:51 she said, "Good morning, Matthew!" "Good morning,
00:53 Jessica." "How are you today?" He said, "I'm
00:57 about to freeze to death." I just loved her response.
01:01 In fact, I ran home and wrote it down so I wouldn't
01:04 forget it, and I've told the story often
01:06 through the years. When he said, "Well, I'm about
01:10 to freeze to death," she shrugged her
01:12 shoulders and she said, "Well, if you died here,
01:15 at least you'd die in the service." - Oh,
01:18 wow. - And it struck me- that's how I want to die.
01:23 - Exactly. - Helping a child across a street
01:26 or volunteering at the good neighbor house or
01:29 going on a short-term mission trip or listening
01:32 to somebody going through a tough time in life, or
01:35 whatever that looks like in my life, you know?
01:40 Or if Jesus comes before I die, I hope when He
01:44 comes, He finds me serving in His Name
01:48 and being His church. [Amen.] - What a way
01:52 to go, right? - Yeah, exactly. - In the service.
01:55 I am reminded of the words in Matthew 25.
02:02 It says, "For I was hungry and you gave
02:04 me food; I was thirsty and you gave me something
02:07 to drink. I was a stranger and you brought me together
02:10 with yourselves and welcomed and entertained
02:12 and lodged me." Verse 36, "I was naked and
02:16 you clothed me. I was sick and you visited me
02:18 with help and ministering care. I was in prison,
02:21 and you came to see me." And it goes on to say
02:24 that we don't always know when we're doing
02:27 those things, but in that we do it to the
02:29 least of one of these. Jesus says, "You've
02:31 done it unto me." So, just remember that.
02:34 That's the importance of serving and being
02:39 a part of ministry that is impacting worldwide
02:43 what you can do locally, and it's eternally - the
02:47 returns are eternal. Thank you, gentlemen,
02:50 for being involved in this ministry; thank you
02:53 for your roles that you play there. Again,
02:55 I know it's something that you do daily. You
03:00 see you get down, and this is boots on the ground
03:02 and working in the ministry, so thank
03:05 you, and thank you for being a part of this.
03:08 In closing, just tell me the way this has
03:13 impacted your life personally. I know it
03:17 affects those people, but what does this do
03:20 for you? - Well, you know, it really truly
03:23 is a greater blessing to be able to serve.
03:27 I mean, if you go, "I'm helping these
03:28 people," but when you're actually getting where the
03:30 rubber meets the road, it's almost like, "Am I
03:33 supposed to be blessed this much? I'm supposed
03:36 to be helping those people!" But that's
03:38 really where it is. And you know, I really want
03:41 to encourage everyone that God has a work for
03:44 each of you. He has a plan for each of you.
03:48 I don't look for it each day. "Oh, what's He
03:51 gonna do?" It's, "God, just use me." - Right.
03:54 - And that's, to me, what I've discovered
03:55 it's all about. - Yeah. Frank? Any words? - You
03:58 know, my gift, so to speak, my career was
04:02 in the administration governments. So, to
04:06 be involved in the governments of a
04:09 life-changing daily ministry, it energizes
04:16 me. It keeps me young. People say, "Are you
04:20 retired?" I say, "No! I'm engaged; I'm
04:23 involved," and I believe firmly that it's medicine
04:29 to the soul. So, being able to be engaged in
04:33 Christ's work while on earth is a greatest
04:39 privilege that I could ever imagine. - Amen. And
04:44 don't forget, viewers, as you are our audience
04:48 but you are part of the family. You are what
04:51 makes this ministry continue. So, thank
04:54 you for giving to the Lord and continue
04:55 doing so. Bless you.
