00:01 You know, this is such an important ministry.
00:03 And I just kind, we have a few minutes left. 00:05 I wanted to get some closing thoughts. 00:08 But, Leah, let me come to you. 00:11 If you could tell the people at home, 00:14 who are watching or listening to this program. 00:17 One thing, what would you want to say to them? 00:20 I would just say that, 00:24 I wish that they could be impressed 00:26 and move to help and support programs like these, 00:29 that help people who are so in need of help, 00:32 and so in need of guidance and family. 00:35 And with the opportunities that I have been given, 00:37 I think that, 00:39 it's made me such a stronger person in my faith, 00:41 and such a stronger person in my education 00:44 and in my determination to make something of myself. 00:47 And I feel like without these opportunities, 00:50 I wouldn't be here today. 00:51 And it would be very hard to get to the places 00:54 that I want to get to. 00:55 And so there is, 00:56 if there's a way that you can reach out 00:58 to immigrants and new immigrants 01:00 in your communities with children 01:02 who have so much to give, 01:05 you know, to the church and to the world. 01:07 I would just say, you know, 01:08 just go out there and find them. 01:10 Amen. 01:11 And then help them out and lead them. 01:13 And it was a life changing for you, 01:15 life changing for your family. 01:16 But there's that, for every action, 01:19 there is an equal reaction. 01:21 And then we see how it's impacting the church. 01:24 Very briefly, Karma, final thought? 01:28 It's just... 01:29 This is a wonderful evangelistic tool. 01:31 Amen. 01:33 You're reaching young people. 01:35 And when you reach young people, 01:36 you're gonna reach the families. 01:37 And when you reach the families, 01:40 you've already built your church. 01:41 Amen. 01:42 So this is one of the best evangelistic tools 01:44 you could ever use to reach people for Jesus. 01:49 And they're just everywhere. 01:50 That's what surprised me is to find out 01:52 how many refugees are throughout the 50 states. 01:56 Julie, final thought? 01:58 Well, I just encourage others to reach out support. 02:04 It may be prayer, it maybe financial, 02:06 but it may be just a loving hand, 02:10 a kind word, built friendships, 02:14 because you'll be blessed by it. 02:15 Amen. Amen. 02:17 So we come down to Joe, you get the final word. 02:19 Final thought. 02:21 Well, I, you know, 02:22 I have the privilege of visiting all the schools, 02:23 and I don't get the opportunity to interact with the refugees 02:28 or other children on a day to day basis. 02:31 But when I do interact with them, 02:32 whether it's at our programs, 02:34 special programs or in their classrooms, 02:36 it's been impactful to me. 02:37 And how the Lord has lead them 02:39 and stories like Leah and her family, 02:40 and there's many of those out there. 02:43 But we have set a course that we will not turn back. 02:47 Our commitment is to the refugees in our conference, 02:51 whether they be Adventist Christians, 02:54 or not Christians, or in whatever faith, 02:58 we just want to be a help to them, 03:00 because we feel as I shared earlier, 03:02 as Jesus talked to the sheep, 03:04 as we do these to the least we are doing it as to Jesus. 03:08 Amen, and amen. 03:09 And this is something that as we focus on others, 03:14 and get the focus off ourselves, that's... 03:16 We're to be a channel of blessing. 03:19 We're to minister to the least of these 03:22 is what Jesus calls us to do. 03:25 And you know, the amazing thing is when you do that, 03:30 how good you begin to feel inside, 03:33 you feel good about yourself, isn't it? 03:36 When you allow God to use you, you're gonna find out, 03:40 you get... 03:42 Your blessing to someone else, but you get doubly blessed. 03:44 Amen? Amen. Yes. 03:46 Well, we just want to thank each one of you. 03:50 Leah, any idea 03:51 what you want to do as you graduate? 03:54 I definitely want to go to college. 03:56 I plan to become a doctor. 03:58 That's one of my ultimate goals. 03:59 That does not surprise me. 04:02 You're a stellar individual though. 04:05 Thank you so much for being here. 04:07 Karma, we thank you, Julie. And Joe, thank you. 04:10 I know that you woke up with a little bit of frog 04:13 in your voice this morning, didn't you? 04:15 So as I say, my husband says "Woke up with my man voice on." 04:19 Me too. 04:21 We're so glad that you joined us, 04:23 and I hope you will... 04:24 We're kind of laying down the challenge, 04:26 I hope you look to see 04:28 how many refugees are in my own community 04:31 and how can I help? 04:32 But our prayer for you is that the grace of our Lord 04:35 and Savior Jesus Christ, the love of the Father, 04:38 and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit 04:40 will be with you always. |
