00:01 I want to spend my life
00:07 Mending broken people 00:12 I want to spend my life 00:18 Removing pain 00:23 Lord, let my words 00:29 Heal a heart that hurts 00:34 I want to spend my life 00:40 Mending broken people 00:45 I want to spend my life 00:51 Mending broken people 01:17 Rock of ages, cleft for me 01:25 Let me hide myself in Thee 01:32 Let the water and the blood 01:39 From Thy riven side which flowed 01:46 Rock of ages, cleft for me 01:54 Let me hide myself in Thee 02:09 Sometimes I feel discouraged 02:18 And I think my works in vain 02:27 I'm tempted oft to murmur 02:36 To grumble and complain 02:44 Oh, but then I think of Jesus 02:53 And all He's done for me 03:02 Then I cry, oh Rock of ages 03:11 Hide Thou me 03:20 Oh, Rock of ages 03:29 Hide Thou me 03:37 There is no other refuge 03:46 Can save, Lord but Thee 03:54 And through this dark world 03:59 I've wandered far 04:06 Far from Thee 04:12 Then I cry, oh Rock of ages 04:22 Hide Thou me 04:42 - Amen. Praise the Lord. Hello and welcome to 3ABN 04:44 Today. Thank you for joining us as you do 04:46 each and every day. I know our intro's a little 04:49 different than normal, but we have Ryan Day 04:52 here today. What an incredible instrument that God 04:54 has given him for music and for preaching, and we're 04:57 going to get to know Ryan a little better today. He 05:00 has a brand-new CD out that we're all excited 05:03 about. I love his songs and the music. And between him 05:07 and Tim Parton doing the music behind him, we're 05:09 going to have a great time today in the Lord. 05:12 And so again, we appreciate you. Thank you for your love 05:15 and your prayers and financial support of 3ABN 05:18 as we endeavor to take this great gospel of the 05:20 Kingdom into all the world. And one of the 05:22 things that we have seen that crosses denominational 05:26 lines over the past 34 years is music. There 05:30 are people who will watch 3ABN who might not ever 05:33 stop on this channel when they hear preaching or 05:36 prophecies or the mark of the beast; but when 05:38 they hear music like this, they'll stop and listen. 05:41 Then later, we'll get phone calls or letters 05:43 or emails that say, "You know, I stopped to listen 05:46 to that music, but then I heard the next program 05:49 and the next one," and then they talk about 05:50 coming to Jesus or joining the church. So, music is 05:54 a great tool that God has given us, and we're so 05:57 thankful that Ryan Day is now a part of working 05:59 with the music channel. We'll talk about that in 06:02 a few minutes-but before he sits down, I think I'm 06:05 just going to ask you, Ryan, if you'll do another 06:07 song for us right now, and then we'll come back 06:09 and hear from Ryan speaking. 06:26 In this quiet place with You 06:31 I bow before Your throne 06:34 I bear the deepest part of me 06:39 To You and You alone 06:43 I keep no secrets For there is no thought 06:49 That You have known 06:51 I bring my best and all the rest 06:56 To You I lay them down 07:06 With all my heart 07:12 I want to love You, Lord 07:16 And live my life 07:21 Each day to know You more 07:25 All that is in me 07:29 Is Yours completely 07:34 I'll serve You only 07:38 With all my heart 07:57 You faithfully supply my needs 08:02 According to Your plan 08:05 So help me, Lord, to seek your face 08:10 Before I seek Your hand 08:14 And trust You know what's best for me 08:18 When I don't understand 08:28 Then follow in obedience 08:32 In every circumstance 08:42 With all my heart 08:48 I want to love You, Lord 08:52 And live my life 08:55 Each day to know You more 08:59 All that is in me 09:03 Is Yours completely 09:09 I'll serve You only 09:20 I'll serve You only 09:34 With all my heart 10:04 - Amen. Thank you so much, Ryan. Beautiful song-"With 10:07 All My Heart." Today, it's a privilege to introduce to 10:11 some of you... Now many of you have been able to 10:12 see Ryan and get to know him over the last several 10:15 months or year; but right now, I'm happy to say 10:18 that he's full-time, employed- if you call it that. I hate to 10:22 call him employed when you're having so much 10:24 fun and you're in ministry, but it's a joy to have Ryan 10:27 here full-time at 3ABN. Ryan, it's great to have 10:29 you here today. - Amen. It's good to have you 10:31 here, brother. Thank you so much. Good to be here. 10:32 - You know what, a great instrument, a great tool 10:34 that God has given you- and I know you give Him 10:36 the glory for that. - Amen. - Now, you know Yvonne. 10:39 She's got a lot of music background and sang with 10:43 a lot of big names, but she says to me, "Ryan's 10:46 got one of the greatest tools that I've ever"... 10:48 You know, "natural tools that I've heard." - Oh, 10:51 praise the Lord. - So, coming from her, that's 10:53 a pretty good compliment. - That's humbling, coming 10:55 from her. - She may not say that to you, but she 10:56 says it to me. She said, "He has an incredible tool"- 10:59 you know?-"It's an incredible instrument." It was her words. 11:02 I say, "tool"; I'm a carpenter. "Tool," 11:04 but she's "instrument." So, God has blessed you. 11:10 But we're going to find out today a little more 11:12 about you. You, for a number of years, you 11:16 were preaching. So, you were with Amazing Facts. 11:18 - I was with Amazing Facts for 5 years before I came 11:21 here, but I wasn't always a Seventh-day Adventist 11:24 Christian. I wasn't raised in the Adventist church, 11:26 so... - Well, we want to spend a little time; we're 11:28 going to do some more songs, so don't get antsy 11:30 at home. We're going to have him back up and do 11:32 a few more songs, brand-new. Can you show your CD, maybe? 11:35 - Yeah, absolutely. So, this is the new- this is it: the 11:38 "Songs of Faith" album. I'm a little proud of it. 11:42 It's my very first professional album. - Can you give us some 11:46 of the songs? - Absolutely! So there are songs like: "The 11:48 Solid Rock," "You Are My All in All," "Spirit in the 11:51 Bride," which is kind of a worship medley... "They 11:54 Sing a New Song" is also on this one. "I'm Going 11:57 to Give Him Glory" project, which is a wonderful song 11:59 written by David Huntsinger. We also have: "We'll Understand 12:02 It Better," "By and By," good old-fashioned kind 12:05 of pick-me-up hymn, which is a really good one. "With 12:08 All My Heart," which you heard just a few moments 12:10 ago, "Hide Thou Me," which is the one I started with in 12:13 the beginning, and of course, "I'd Rather Have Jesus," 12:16 which we'll do in just a few moments, "Gethsemane," 12:18 as well (which is a song you wrote, and Lanny 12:21 Wolfe co-wrote, which is wonderful), and then a 12:25 song called, "Satisfied," which is actually me and 12:28 Tim Parton in a duet on that one, which is... It 12:31 was fun; very fun for me and Tim. And then of 12:33 course, the last two are: "Until Then" and "When We 12:36 All Get to Heaven." - Can't be- those kinds 12:38 of songs are here forever. "Until Then," "When We All 12:40 Get to Heaven," I mean- most of these songs, you 12:43 know? - Yes. - And so, I love that your music, 12:46 your style of music- and it fits right into our 3ABN 12:48 audience, because most of our audience doesn't like all 12:53 the-and I'm just gonna like they talk to me, okay? 12:55 - Sure, sure. - They don't like all the beating and 12:57 banging and all the loud drums and all the percussions 13:01 and all the things going on. It's between- when 13:04 we get to heaven, we may really be surprised at some 13:07 of the music's there; so it's not to say what music is 13:09 sinful, what isn't sinful, what's good and bad, but 13:13 people have different taste. - Sure, sure. - So, I may be 13:16 a little broader in my taste than some of the folk are, 13:19 and then there's people a whole lot broader than 13:21 me. In fact, I was talking to the airlines just a little 13:26 bit ago, and...I don't know if it was a day or two ago, 13:29 and the lady- she said, "I gotta put you on hold, 13:31 and I'm so sorry that our music isn't working right 13:36 now, so it'll just be quiet." And I said, 13:37 "No, thank you, 'cause I'm sure that's going to 13:39 be better than the music," because everybody has 13:42 different taste, you know. - Right, right. Yes. - But 13:44 anyway, we appreciate your kind of music; but for a young 13:46 guy, you're kind of keeping the hymns and all of that- 13:50 you know. A lot of the young folk are totally 13:52 getting away from that. A lot of the music nowadays 13:54 from folks your age, and you get pushing that 30 13:58 mark-you know. Getting up here, they're all into 14:00 the more kind of...you don't know if it's rock, 14:02 you don't know if it's gospel, you don't know- 14:03 Christian- you don't know what it is, really; but yours 14:07 is very distinct, you have a message to give, 14:10 and it's just like in your preaching, and you give it. I 14:13 appreciate that, and so do we and our viewers at home will, 14:16 too, so we're excited for you to get to know Ryan 14:19 better. And of course, your position now with 14:21 the Praise Him Music Channel is what? - I am the assistant 14:24 to the general manager, who is Tim Parton, of the 14:27 Praise Him Music Network- the 3ABN Praise Him Music 14:30 Network. - And it is on the air now? - It is on 14:32 the air, it is going strong, and we're very excited 14:34 about some of the great opportunities and broadcasting 14:38 that we're going to be doing coming up in the near future. 14:40 - So for the folks on the go and traveling, and 14:43 they're always here and there, is there a way 14:45 they can use their phones or? - Oh, absolutely, yeah. 14:48 So I would encourage everyone to download 14:50 first, if you have a smartphone, download the 3ABN app. It's 14:54 free; just simply go to your app store, download- 14:56 just type in "3ABN," it'll pop up there, and you'll 14:59 have access to all the 3ABN different networks. 15:02 And of course, in that list is the Praise Him Music 15:05 Network. You can carry it with you anywhere 15:06 you want. Everywhere that you have internet connection, 15:09 it's available. Absolutely. - Isn't that amazing? 15:11 Yeah, and they go to the different... You can go on 15:13 the computer, you can go different ways, and be able 15:15 to get this 24/7. I love listening to it when I'm 15:18 traveling. It's wonderful. I watch it when I can when 15:21 I'm not driving, but... [laughter] Other than 15:23 that, I love watching it. So, brand-new music 15:26 network that I'm sure you're going to love. We have all 15:29 kinds of people watching already and watching the 15:32 music. I had talked to former attorney general not too 15:36 long ago, and he said, "Man, I love watching 15:38 3ABN's- your station and your music channel and 15:43 all of that," so we have a lot of people who watch 15:46 and love the music. As I was telling the folks 15:49 earlier, music is a universal language that people would 15:53 stop and watch 3ABN when they hear music like this. 15:57 They might not if you're up there preaching a fiery 15:59 sermon, but...you know, it gets them there, and 16:02 once they're there, a lot of times the Holy Spirit 16:04 leads them to continue to watch. Let's go back 16:07 and talk a little bit about your background. Now, 16:10 you were raised in what state? - So, I was raised 16:11 in the state of Arkansas. - Okay! - I was primarily 16:15 raised in a couple of different Pentecostal 16:17 denominations-more charismatic. So, I was the preacher's child, 16:22 and raised in a very conservative, wonderful 16:26 Christian home-but of course, the Lord had a different plan. 16:30 He knew we loved truth. He knew we were searching 16:32 for truth-and it wasn't too long before the truth 16:35 of the Sabbath and those wonderful pillar faithful 16:39 messages that the Adventist church teaches all around the 16:42 world came our way, and we couldn't pass it up, so... 16:45 - Wow! So that's just through... You weren't 16:49 watching TV, necessarily. Did you meet people who 16:51 were Adventist, and...how did that work? - So yeah! 16:54 So basically, my aunt-have to give a shout out to my 16:57 aunt Gwen (she's probably going to watch this), and 16:59 I think also my aunt Genie had something to do with 17:02 this, as well. It's both my dad's sisters, and they 17:04 had been... My aunt Jenny had- or she's- my aunt 17:08 Gwen had been involved in the Adventist church 17:11 at this time (this was back in the mid '90s- 17:13 early-to-mid '90s) and said come into, I think, some 17:16 Mark Finley or Kenneth Cox tapes that I'm 17:19 sure, probably, 3ABN had something to do with the 17:22 recording. And somehow, someway, I think it was my 17:25 Aunt Genie eventually shared a tape with my 17:28 dad, and they kind of both shared with my father, 17:30 and my Aunt Gwen really kind of pushed. You know, 17:33 "Watch that tape! Watch that tape!" And so my dad 17:35 watched it, and the rest is history. My dad began 17:38 to watch all of the Kenneth Cox tapes and Mark Finley 17:40 evangelistic series, and I remember as a kid, 17:43 peering into the television, watching these guys talk 17:46 about biblical things that I didn't quite understand... 17:48 but little did I know that years later, it would play 17:51 a major role in- and those same tapes would play a 17:54 major role in my conversion. - Wow. That's amazing. So, 17:57 your dad, did he- did your whole family, like, just join 18:00 the Adventist church, or did you take it one step 18:02 at a time? - It was kind of a multistep process. It's 18:06 interesting how it happened, because while my dad was 18:08 still in the Pentecostal faith and, you know, kind 18:11 of non-denominational, denominational-he was 18:14 kind of all over the place at one time, but he was 18:16 still preaching the Adventist message. In fact, many times 18:19 it cost him to... You know, some of the boards at the 18:21 churches that he attended would ask him to leave, 18:23 because he was preaching these truths. And so, actually, 18:27 long story short, I was the first one in my family that 18:30 made the decision to join the Adventist church. And 18:33 then of course, my brother and my sister joined, and 18:37 then, of course, later on, my mother and 18:39 father would join, as well. So, praise the Lord all 18:41 of my family are Adventist Christians, and they love 18:45 Jesus, and I praise God for the journey that He 18:47 has brought us through. - That's great. So you 18:50 were one of the first ones to stay in your family to 18:52 step out and say, "I wanna join the church." - That's 18:55 right. - That's great. Now, the book Ten Commandments: 18:58 Twice Removed, you said that helped you. - Yeah, 19:00 so this was actually a few...maybe a year or 19:03 two before I actually made the decision to 19:05 formally join the church. My father and I and my 19:08 family had started our own little kind of non- 19:10 denominational Sabbath-keeping church, teaching all of the 19:13 Adventist teachings in this church-in a little 19:16 country church out in the middle of nowhere. And 19:18 one day, a friend of my father's came in and had 19:20 a big stack of books, and he just laid them up on this 19:23 table in our sanctuary. He said, "If anybody 19:25 wants these, they can have them," and I started 19:27 going through them. One of them that stuck out to 19:29 me was the Ten Commandments: Twice Removed - Danny Shelton 19:32 and Shelley Quinn. So, I pulled it out of that stack, 19:34 read it, couldn't put it down; read it twice, 19:36 read it three times, and it played a huge role in 19:39 helping me kind of dial-in my understanding of, 19:42 you know, the Commandments and the importance of 19:44 Sabbath-keeping and obedience to Christ and 19:46 upholding the truth in the last days. - So, there's 19:49 all kinds of ways that we can, you know... There's 19:52 all this new media and media highways, but still 19:56 yet, there's just a good old book. It's printed, it 19:59 has pages, and you can turn it (you don't even 20:01 have to go on the internet or go somewhere), that they're 20:04 still effective, and we see that over and over - many 20:07 books; not just ours - but many of them that 20:09 we still pass out and give away, and we see people's 20:13 lives changed. So yours is a progressive thing. 20:16 You, more and more as you saw it - but something 20:19 interesting: you were obviously looking for 20:22 truth. - Absolutely. - And so, when you're looking 20:24 for truth, the Lord showed it to you. - Absolutely! 20:27 And I always tell people, you know, it first has 20:29 to start with one having the love for the truth. 20:31 You have to love truth... and I did. I wanted truth 20:34 more than anything, even if it meant me losing my 20:37 job (which I did at one time for the Sabbath), 20:39 me losing friends, which I did many times when 20:42 I gave my heart to Jesus... But I was on that search 20:46 as my family was, and things begin to change - but the 20:49 Lord had a plan. I just said to Him, even though 20:53 I wasn't perfect and I still had a lot of things in my 20:55 life (and still do!) that the Lord's working on 20:57 me. The Lord just wants a willing soul, and He showed 21:01 me that. "If you're willing to be used by Me, I will 21:03 use you." - You know what, what a great segue to your 21:06 next song, "I'd Rather Have Jesus." - I'd rather 21:08 have Jesus; that's right! - You were just saying- 21:10 all of that said, "I'd Rather Have Jesus." 21:12 So, we're going to have Ryan get up and sing this 21:14 song in just a moment, and a lot of you folk will know 21:17 it. If you don't, if you're younger and you haven't 21:19 heard it, this is, to me, it's one of the great 21:21 all-time songs. "I'd rather have Jesus than silver 21:24 and gold," and the author is saying that when we 21:27 really look at this world, it really doesn't have 21:29 anything. That silver and gold's not going to help 21:31 you when you get 90 or 100 or whenever you come to 21:35 the grave and you go down in the grave- nothing's 21:38 gonna help you but knowing Jesus Christ and accepting 21:41 Him as Lord and Savior of your life. And so, 21:45 today, that's a goal of 3ABN is to present Jesus 21:49 Christ to a lost and dying world - to see that He 21:51 is the answer for this world's problems today. 21:54 And it's our hope and prayer that each and 21:56 every one of you, along with us, would look all 21:59 around the world but say, "You know what, I've seen 22:01 it all...but 'I'd rather have Jesus.'" Ryan. 22:28 I'd rather have Jesus than silver or gold 22:38 I'd rather be His than have riches untold 22:49 I'd rather have Jesus than houses or lands 22:59 I'd rather be led by His nail pierced hands 23:10 Than to be the king of a vast domain 23:20 Or be held in sins dread sway 23:31 I'd rather have Jesus than anything 23:42 This world affords today 23:56 Ohh... 23:58 I'd rather have Jesus than men's applause 24:08 I'd rather be faithful to His dear cause 24:18 I'd rather have Jesus than worldwide fame 24:29 I'd rather be true to His holy name 24:40 Than to be the king of a vast domain 24:51 Or be held in sin's dreadful sway 25:05 I'd rather have Jesus 25:13 Than anything 25:23 This world affords 25:32 Today 25:42 Mm... 25:56 - Amen. Thank you, Ryan. This is all part of a brand-new 25:58 CD, and you should go to 3ABN. You can go to the 26:03 website, whatever - anytime, we always 26:04 say, other than Sabbath hours. This is Ryan's, 26:08 and it's his own personal; it's nothing that we own, 26:11 but we support him and what he's doing, so you 26:13 can work out the details with Ryan but you probably can 26:15 find out right here through 3ABN how to contact him. 26:18 And so, I would encourage you not only for yourself, 26:23 but for people around you. We know people 26:26 that- neighbors, we know friends... Maybe sometimes, 26:28 you can't really talk to them about Jesus; 26:30 but say, "Hey, I got this gift. There's a guy that 26:33 I met or I like." Maybe you go to a concert 26:35 somewhere, you see him, "Hey, I see him on 3ABN, 26:38 and I really just feel like the Lord's impressed me 26:42 to give you this." They'll listen to it. They may not 26:44 tell you yes or no, but so many times, in their 26:47 home, in the quietness, when they're struggling, 26:50 they'll put on this music. And we've seen over and 26:54 over again people brought to Jesus through music 26:57 like this. So, we encourage you to contact 3ABN and 27:02 find out how you can get yours we say any time 27:04 other than Sabbath hours I'd encourage you. In fact, 27:08 you're going to have a hard time getting this 27:09 away from me, Ryan, when the program's over, so I'll 27:12 work out with you whatever we gotta do later. We'll 27:15 trade something. We'll work it out, but wonderful. 27:19 Thank you, again, so much for what you're doing. Now, 27:21 we got a little time for talking. We want to get 27:24 a couple more songs in, but I want to talk about 27:26 you then actually felt a call to ministry. - Yeah. 27:30 Absolutely. - And how- what happened then? 27:32 - Yeah, so I was probably about two years into having 27:36 been working in my local Seventh-day Adventist 27:39 Church. I was youth pastor and made my way up through, 27:43 being an elder and really working in my local church. 27:47 The Lord just inspired me one day and encouraged me 27:49 as I had been watching some evangelistic series, 27:52 I had been studying my Bible more, and the Lord 27:54 just placed it on my heart. Said, "You know what, I've 27:56 given you gifts, I've given you talents... 27:57 I want you to use them for me." And so, myself 28:00 and my brother Dakota, who is now an Amazing 28:03 Facts evangelist, and both of our wives and our 28:07 friend Jordan Moore... We all, 5 of us, went 28:09 from Arkansas to California in 2013, and we went 28:13 through the Amazing Facts Center of Evangelism there 28:16 where we were trained by Pastor Doug and the AFCOE 28:19 crew on how to do proper evangelism in these last 28:22 days...and it was one of the best decisions of my 28:24 life. And so, about halfway or a little more than halfway 28:28 through that program, I was given a couple of opportunities 28:30 to speak, and the Lord just blessed me abundantly 28:34 and providing an opportunity for myself to join the Amazing 28:37 Facts evangelistic team. And so from that point 28:40 forward for the next 5 years, I would travel on 28:43 behalf of Amazing Facts Ministries, and I would 28:46 find myself all over the United States and Canada, 28:49 preaching the gospel, and it's just been the greatest 28:52 journey of my life. I'll never take it back. It's 28:56 a wonderful thing. - So you could've never really looked 28:58 back as a young child, going to these churches and 29:02 thinking, "I'd be out in the frontline, being 29:04 an evangelist in the Seventh-day Adventist 29:06 Church," right? - That's right. Never; never. 29:07 [laughter] It's a beautiful thing. - Yeah, it's amazing. 29:10 But you mentioned your brother, so your brother... 29:12 Is he? Tell us about your family and siblings. 29:15 - Yeah! So I mentioned earlier all of my family 29:17 eventually made that decision to be Sabbath- 29:20 keeping Christians in the Seventh-day Adventist 29:22 Church, and my brother Dakota who's younger 29:24 than me-he's about 4-and-a-half years younger than me-he's 29:27 also an Amazing Facts evangelist still today, 29:30 and so he travels, and he's been with them now 29:32 for about two-and-a-half~ almost three years. And 29:34 so, yeah! Of course, I'm no longer with Amazing 29:38 Facts now; I'm here with 3ABN. But as I'm kind of 29:41 transitioning out of there, my brother's kind of taken 29:44 up the banner and he's moving forward in the field of 29:47 evangelism, so yeah. - Now, it'd probably be a really 29:50 hard choice if you had to decide between singing 29:54 or preaching, 'cause I can tell when you're 29:56 doing it, when you're ministering, you love 29:58 both. - Sure, sure. Aw, yeah. - And you love it. 30:01 So, that would be a tough decision, wouldn't it? - It 30:03 would a tough decision. I love to preach, I love 30:06 to sing, but I think every man knows what he's best 30:09 at at the end of the day, and I would say that I 30:12 probably am better at singing than I am preaching... 30:17 But at the end of the day, it's not about being better 30:19 or better than someone else; it's about being willing 30:21 to preach and to sing for Jesus, which I love doing 30:24 both - absolutely. - So on 3ABN- we're kind of 30:27 putting you- you just jumped right out of that, 30:29 jumped right into this. Now you've been doing, 30:31 what, some of the Sabbath school programs? - I've been 30:33 on the Sabbath School Panel. - How do you like that? - Oh, 30:34 I love it! It's just been an incredible journey. 30:37 - Some of the folk you're sitting beside there, 30:41 listening and working with? - Oh, man, it's like 30:43 drinking from a fire hydrant when I'm around Jill and 30:46 Shelley and John and Kenny, and then yourself, and it's 30:50 just... It's been an incredible experience - 30:52 absolutely. - Oh, it is. I've been on it a few 30:54 times; I feel I'm out of my league, you know? 30:56 But it's really neat to hear everyone's perspective of 30:59 the same lesson study, but different people get 31:03 different-you know?-it's like little gems of truth. 31:05 - It's true. - And so when I listen to you, I listen to 31:07 Jill and each one, and so I've read it, but we'll 31:10 each pick up something different, and it's 31:13 really... It's one of the most watched programs, 31:16 as far as we could tell, of people watching, and 31:19 we're happy for that, because the more people 31:21 that's watching, the better. And again, a lot of these 31:24 folk- most of our viewers... People don't know this. 31:26 In general, a lot of people don't know-... As far as 31:30 we can tell, probably 95%- and I didn't make a mistake 31:34 on this-95% of our viewing audience and listening audience 31:38 are not Seventh-day Adventist. So, I hear a lot of people say, 31:42 "Oh, well, that's an Adventist channel, preaching to the 31:46 choir"... Not really, and there's nothing wrong 31:48 with preaching to the choir, and we do to a lot of choirs, 31:51 and 3ABN's known around the world...but it's amazing 31:55 to me that- here's an amazing fact-that probably 31:59 95% of our potential viewing audience is not Seventh-day 32:04 Adventist, and we understand that as we travel: in airports 32:07 and places. I've been in Bucharest, Romania, and 32:09 Russia, Moscow, and cities that where you would have 32:13 no idea that people would walk up and say, "Oh, 32:15 I see you"...and their accents from whatever 32:19 country but their attempt to do in English (and some 32:22 of it's pretty good, actually). But, "Oh, I see you on 3ABN," 32:26 I'm always amazed at the people that are watching 3ABN 32:30 around the world. So again, we're so thankful that you're 32:34 here, you're part of the team, the music team; 32:36 but we didn't make you decide, 'cause we're 32:38 having you do both. - Amen. - So you're going to be 32:40 preaching the camp meeting, too? - That's right. Coming 32:42 up spring camp meeting; absolutely. - Isn't that 32:44 going to be great? What's that-June 5th through 8th? 32:46 - June 5th through 8th. It's on the Ten Commandments- 32:48 God's holy law and covenant; law of liberty-and so I'm going 32:52 to get to preach on the topic of the Sabbath, so 32:55 it's going to be really fun. - Yeah. Oh, you're 32:57 going to do the Sabbath? - I'm going to be doing the 32:58 topic of the Sabbath, which is a big one. - Well, why not, 33:00 right? [laughter] 'Cause you learned it, and it didn't 33:02 come from not being raised in the church. - That's right. 33:05 - Yeah. Absolutely. - Amen. - Well, right now, I want to 33:07 transition to a song, but I want you to- you tell 33:10 me about it a little bit from your perspective- 33:12 you chose it-but Gethsemane. - Sure. - And why that on this 33:16 particular project. - Yeah, absolutely. Well, first and 33:18 foremost, any time I get to sing about Christ and 33:22 the sacrifice that He gave for us... You know, many 33:24 people think that the ultimate sacrifice He 33:26 gave was up on cross, and that for sure is true that 33:29 He did indeed endure the cross in despite of the 33:32 shame, but He had to endure Gethsemane. The first time 33:36 I heard this song was actually in the studio, 33:38 just as a new kind of convert coming into 3ABN as an 33:43 employee. I remember you had brought me into the 33:46 studio and said... Either there's a song that I 33:48 wrote and you played it for me, and I was just 33:50 captivated by the message, the way it was very well 33:54 written, the music was just beautiful... And from that 33:57 moment on, when I had the opportunity to make 34:00 this CD, I kind of, you know, urged E.T. and 34:03 Tim and yourself, "Hey, can I record this song?" 34:07 And it's just been such a blessing. I love the message, 34:09 and I know the Lord really used you, and Lanny Wolfe 34:11 to write the song. - Yeah, Lanny Wolfe. And actually, 34:13 the night before we were doing that whole project... 34:16 I was getting ready to- Reggie was producing that 34:20 particular project. I was going down to meet 34:23 him, and I was supposed to pick up Lanny Wolfe 34:25 at the airport, and I got this little tune... "He 34:28 suffered Gethsemane through blood, sweat, and tears"... 34:32 And so, all of a sudden, it started coming to me, 34:35 "Each drop of blood He shed..." All of a sudden, words 34:40 start coming to me, and I said, "Wow, that is..." 34:42 So I write this chorus, the words and the music; 34:45 so Reggie calls, and I say, "Reggie," I said, 34:49 "Man, I wish it weren't so late in the project, 'cause 34:52 we're recording the next two days, but this little tune came 34:56 to me." "Let me hear it." Soon as I play it, he said, 34:58 "Danny, we gotta get that on this CD." And I said, 35:00 "I don't even have the verses to it!" So he 35:03 said, "Well, let's... Maybe you can work on it." 35:05 So I pick up Lanny at the airport and take 35:08 him to his room; and when I drop him off, on the way 35:12 there, I say, "Lanny, I wrote this little chorus 35:14 tonight." And I didn't ask him to work on it; you don't 35:17 ask Lanny Wolfe. He's a legend, so I don't expect 35:20 him to drop down to my level. But I said, "Well, 35:23 if he wants to do it, he'll volunteer." So he said, 35:25 "That's really nice." The next morning, we 35:29 go to breakfast, and he says "Do you want somebody? 35:32 That song's been running through my mind all night. 35:34 You want verses?" And I said, "Absolutely." So he 35:37 literally, that day, was in a side room, working, 35:41 putting the verses together (which are INCREDIBLE), so 35:44 I don't take the credit for that. Lanny through 35:47 the Holy Spirit, you know, doing it. But it turned 35:49 out to be a song that we give God all honor and glory and 35:53 praise, and you do a great job on it, so 35:55 we're going to have Ryan sing to you right now... 35:58 Again, this CD's available; all you have to do is contact 36:01 3ABN other than Sabbath hours. We'll tell you how 36:04 you can get this new project; but right now, 36:07 he'll be ministering to us through Gethsemane. 36:24 All the way from heaven's splendor 36:30 Robed in flesh, One in a manger 36:37 Jesus came to set sin's captives free 36:47 "Father, not My will, but Thine be done," 36:55 Was the prayer He prayed, God's only Son 37:01 So, He drank the bitter cup for you and me 37:12 He suffered Gethsemane 37:18 Through blood, sweat, and tears 37:24 Each drop of blood He shed 37:29 Bought me a million years 37:36 God's crowning sacrifice 37:43 His spotless Lamb 37:49 Now risen from the grave 37:54 He is the great I Am 38:04 All alone, He felt forsaken 38:10 In the garden, His heart was breaking 38:16 Yet He chose to die on Calvary 38:27 Jesus, blessed Savior and Redeemer 38:35 All to Him I now surrender 38:41 Could I do less after all He's done for me 38:51 He suffered Gethsemane 38:58 Through blood, sweat, and tears 39:04 Each drop of blood He shed 39:09 Bought me a million years 39:16 God's crowning sacrifice 39:23 His spotless Lamb 39:29 Now risen from the grave 39:33 He is the great I Am 39:43 He could have left us to die in our sin 39:49 Alone, forever lost 39:54 Oh, but grace would change how the story ends 40:01 Jesus' blood would pay the cost 40:10 He suffered Gethsemane 40:16 Through blood, sweat, and tears 40:21 Each drop of blood He shed 40:26 Bought me a million years 40:34 God's crowning sacrifice 40:40 His spotless Lamb 40:46 Now risen from the grave 40:51 He is the great I Am 40:59 God's crowning sacrifice 41:05 His spotless Lamb 41:14 Now risen from the grave 41:18 He is the great I Am 41:25 Now risen from the grave 41:31 He is the great I Am 41:48 Mm... 42:05 - Amen. Wow. Amazing. Thank you, Ryan, so much. 42:09 What a...just a beautiful delivery on this song that 42:13 talks about, when you think about Jesus in the garden 42:16 of Gethsemane, that He was willing to give His life for 42:21 you and me. It said that He sweat great drops of 42:24 blood...but each drop of blood bought you and me 42:27 a million years. I mean, think about eternity and 42:30 how it can go on and on and on. Sometimes, it's 42:34 almost mind-boggling-but the love that God has for 42:37 fallen man... Now we see through a glass darkly, 42:40 but then face to face... But someday, we'll understand 42:43 it better by and by. And to me, it's just an amazing 42:47 gift that God has given. So, our hope and prayer 42:49 is that each and every one of you accepts Jesus Christ 42:53 as Lord and Savior of your life, and all you have to do 42:55 is confess your sins. He's faithful and just to forgive 42:58 you from your sins, cleanse you from all unrighteousness, 43:01 then all you have to do is go and tell. That's what 43:03 Ryan's doing! He's doing it- what God has done for him. 43:07 His own personal testimony's his greatest asset right now, 43:10 because he's out singing or preaching, "This is what 43:14 Jesus has done for me." Ryan, thank you so much 43:16 for what you're doing. We don't have a lot of time 43:19 for the talking part; we're going to try to get in another 43:21 song, but you gotta tell us a little bit about when 43:23 we got you, we actually got a package, a deal, 43:26 and who's now also involved in the ministry. - That's 43:30 right. So my wife, when we were with Amazing Facts, 43:32 we traveled both together for five years on the road. 43:35 She had, you know, there at the last, she had a 43:38 little bit of an extended time where she taught 43:41 at another school before coming to 3ABN with me. 43:44 When we were making the decision to come here, 43:48 we wanted to make sure that her gifts were being 43:50 used, as well, and so we just prayed, "Lord, 43:53 if there's some way that Stephanie could also be 43:55 used for Your glory and her gifts be used for You"... 43:59 - But there really wasn't an opening that we could 44:01 see. - Yeah, there wasn't at the moment. - But she 44:03 said a great thing: "Well, I'd be willing to do production 44:06 if I needed to. I've had some experience, or 44:08 wherever you need me." So that, when you say you're 44:11 willing like that, it's amazing what God does. 44:13 - That's right; and this was actually before we 44:15 had actually formally come on as an employee when we 44:19 were here recording one day, and then the Lord 44:21 just opened an incredible door. The superintendent 44:23 of schools here was here on campus at 3ABN, or at 44:26 the school across the road, and she got to meet him, 44:28 and the rest is history. She's now the principal 44:32 and head teacher of the Thompsonville Junior Christian 44:34 Academy. - Amen. - So, it's a blessing. - Isn't that 44:36 amazing? - Absolutely. - I love it. So, for the 44:40 future, God's got big plans for the both of 44:43 you. - Absolutely! - And you're young enough that 44:45 He can use it, and it gives me great peace knowing 44:48 that we have people like Greg and Jill Morikone, 44:51 and we got Jason Bradley- you know, Dare to Dream- 44:54 we got Jason Bergmann in accounting, have you in 44:57 ministry, Tim Parton- a number of folks. So 45:01 as I'm getting older and older, you know, say, 45:03 "Well, should the Lord tarry?" 3ABN's in good 45:06 hands, and I'm so thankful that God is bringing the 45:08 right people here that have a burden to get an 45:11 undiluted three angels' messages-one that 45:14 would counteract the counterfeit into all the 45:16 world. What I'd like to do- Ryan, we do have time. 45:20 We'll come back and talk for a little bit more, but 45:22 I would like to go back and have you do- this 45:25 is a great song. Probably everybody listening to it 45:28 will know it. If not, it's time you learn 45:30 it! It's one of the greatest songs from my life. My dad 45:34 would sing it; I remember as a child in church, watching 45:38 my dad up front, singing, "Until Then." So right now, 45:41 sit back and be blessed as Ryan sings to you, "Until Then." 45:58 My heart can sing when I pause to remember 46:09 A heartache here is but a stepping stone 46:20 Along a trail that's winding always upward 46:32 This troubled world is not my final home 46:43 But until then my heart will go on singing 46:55 Until then with joy I'll carry on 47:06 Until the day my eyes behold that city 47:17 Until the day God calls me home 47:29 The things of earth will dim and lose their value 47:40 If we recall they're borrowed for a while 47:51 And things of earth that cause my heart to tremble 48:02 Remembered there will only bring a smile 48:13 But until then my heart will go on singing 48:25 Until then with joy I'll carry on 48:36 Until the day my eyes behold that city 48:47 Until the day God calls me home 48:59 Until the day my eyes behold that city 49:11 Until the day God calls me home 49:26 Until the day He calls me home 49:46 - Well, that's a two-hander right there. Just think about 49:49 it: when God calls us home, you know when 49:51 that will be? Now, some people say, "Well, if 49:53 I die today, He's going to call me home." No, 49:55 not then. We gotta sleep for a little while, sleep 49:58 in the grave, the Bible says, but at the Second 50:00 Coming, at the sound of the trump, the dead in 50:02 Christ shall rise first. We which are alive and remain shall 50:06 be caught up together with the Lord in the air. 50:09 What a glorious day that will be. But until then, 50:12 we need to hold on, keep the faith, don't be discouraged. 50:15 When things come against you, don't blame God; 50:18 blame the devil! He's the one that's out to steal, 50:20 kill, and to destroy. Jesus says, "I am come to give 50:23 you live and give it more abundantly." I don't know 50:25 about you, but I'm encouraged today to hear these songs of 50:28 faith, to hear Ryan's testimony... It's incredible 50:31 what God is doing. Just as He's orchestrating- 50:34 and Ryan, just as He's orchestrating your life, 50:37 each and every person watching this program today, Ryan, 50:41 you agree with me God is orchestrating their salvation, 50:44 and it's a matter of accepting that free gift. Why don't you 50:47 take just a couple minutes and you look into the camera 50:49 and talk to the folk today that, maybe, you're sitting 50:52 on the fence or trying to decide what they really 50:55 want to do with their lives. - Absolutely. You know, just 50:57 as you said-the Bible promises us that God, 50:59 He is the great Creator. He is the King of the cosmos; 51:03 and there is not a hair on your head that He doesn't 51:06 know about, and He loves each and every - the Bible 51:08 says God IS love. And you know, He displayed 51:13 that love on Mount Calvary when He gave each and 51:15 every drop of blood of His life and breath of 51:18 His life for us that we may have salvation. 51:21 You know, we're talking about ministry; we're 51:23 talking about preaching and singing, and all of 51:25 these things are great... It's not for our glory; 51:28 it's for His. I'm not the only one with a talent, 51:31 Danny. God has blessed each and every person 51:33 with a gift and a talent to use for Him, and 51:37 I want to encourage each and every person at home, 51:38 watching, that it's not too late, no matter 51:41 where you are in your walk with the Lord. 51:44 You may think you don't have a walk with the Lord- 51:46 it's still not too late. All you simply have to 51:48 do is call out to Him and say, "Lord, I 51:50 recognize that I am a sinner, and I recognize 51:52 that you gave your life that I may have life 51:56 more abundantly and be saved from my sin." 51:58 So I encourage you: give your heart to Jesus. 52:00 Simply kneel- you could do it no matter where 52:02 you are; you could be at home, you could be at 52:04 work, you could be driving down the road. You could 52:05 be listening to this incredible CD! And to encourage you to 52:10 give your heart to Jesus. I encourage you to do so 52:12 while you still have time, because Jesus IS alive. 52:15 He is still living and He is still working 52:18 among His people, and He will come again for His 52:20 people who are prepared and ready for His return. 52:23 - Amen. Thank you so much. When we think 52:27 about it, you know, the goodness of God, again, 52:30 it makes each of us- we feel so unworthy, 52:33 but really, we should, because we're not worthy. 52:35 But as you said, God is love. - He is love. - And 52:38 so again, I'm so thankful today for you and for your 52:41 music that you're doing and for this new CD that 52:44 we have right here that I'm hanging onto...in just 52:47 a minute, this new CD... But what we'd like for 52:50 you to do, we're going to put up an address roll in 52:52 just a few seconds. And so, I would encourage you 52:55 to contact Ryan, because if I understand it right 52:59 that weekends, people, once you come out and 53:02 minister to- you and Tim maybe to come out and 53:05 do some stuff together, do some music and of 53:07 course, you haven't heard Tim Parton. Tim was playing 53:10 quite a bit on the music you were singing then, 53:13 but an incredible piano player; he's really gifted. 53:16 And the two of them together is a lot of fun, and they'll 53:18 minister to you. So if you want to contact them, 53:20 you may do so at the following address. 53:25 - If the Holy Spirit impresses you to support 3ABN's 53:28 worldwide ministry, you can do so in a variety of ways! 53:32 You can write to 53:33 3ABN Post Office Box 220 West Frankfort, IL 62896. 53:40 Again, that's 3ABN Post Office Box 220 West Frankfort, IL 62896 53:47 You can call us at (618) 627-4651 53:51 That's (618) 627-4651.
