Where we're going? 01:18 We're gonna be traveling all the way to Russia. 01:21 And so I know for me, this is a great opportunity. 01:25 I love talking to Sister Julia Outkina. 01:27 Yeah. 01:28 Julia, I'm so glad that you're here today. 01:30 Oh, I'm so happy to be here, Yvonneshka. 01:33 Now I was so excited to introduce her 01:35 that I got to say thank you to all of our viewers 01:37 for your love, and your prayers, 01:38 and financial support, 01:40 and welcome you to this program. 01:42 But things are happening around the world 01:45 that says Jesus is coming soon. 01:46 That's right. That's right. 01:48 And when you say Jesus said, "Go ye into all the world." 01:51 And you see that places like the ex- Soviet Union 01:54 that was closed off, 01:55 they call it the Iron Curtain for a reason for so many years. 01:59 Then God opened it, physically tore the wall down 02:02 but then spiritually, 02:03 and to see what is happening is amazing to me. 02:06 And we couldn't do it, 02:08 of course, without each and every one of you. 02:10 So Yvonne, 02:11 tell me little bit about Julia, 02:13 and what you've learned about Julia 02:14 in the last few years you've known her? 02:16 You know, when I first came to 3ABN, 02:18 I heard you talk about Julia. 02:21 And Julia, the spiritual side 02:24 and the giving side and just, 02:26 but when I met her, 02:28 you see Jesus in Julia. 02:30 Yeah. 02:31 And that is just, I mean, 02:33 there's no better thing than that 02:35 than to see Jesus in someone. 02:37 She's so caring and giving 02:39 and when we go to Russia, 02:40 she and her team were so loving and... 02:42 Aren't they? 02:43 Yes, just loving 02:45 and by this shall all men know that you're my disciples, 02:47 if you have love one for another 02:49 and Julia has that. 02:51 So we just love Julia. 02:53 A heart for people and a heart for the gospel. 02:56 Absolutely, so welcome back home. 02:58 Thank you so much. I feel at home. 03:01 Yeah, that's for sure. 03:02 Feel happy Absolutely, when I go to Russia, 03:03 it's my second home 03:05 and this is hopefully your second home. 03:06 Yes. 03:08 There are four of us who have come this time today 03:10 and just present updating you 03:12 on what's happening at 3ABN Russia 03:14 and then we'll have another program 03:15 with other people. 03:16 So we entered the apartment 03:18 where we're staying here at 3ABN, a beautiful apartment. 03:21 As always 3ABN takes such good care of the people 03:25 who come here. 03:26 And then I see that balloon 03:27 and it says welcome home, heart, 03:30 and it says welcome home 03:32 and beautiful flowers and the fruit. 03:34 Thank you so much. 03:36 It seems. 03:38 Literally, it's almost impossible. 03:40 It's been 27 years, 03:42 since you and I met in Russia, 1992. 03:45 Wow! I mean, that's amazing. 03:47 3ABN, 03:49 we were, you know, went on the air in '86. 03:52 The idea came, it actually went full time in '86. 03:55 So just six years later, 03:57 we were in Russia. 03:58 And it didn't seem like at the time, 04:00 seemed like we were networked 04:02 and, you know, was going along growing, 04:03 doing all these things. 04:05 And now I look back and I say we're all... 04:06 Julia and I were both in our late 30s. 04:10 You know, when I went back there, 04:11 I think I was hitting, 04:12 maybe it's 40 and you're too behind me. 04:15 Oh, I shouldn't tell. 04:17 She is several years, several years behind me. 04:20 No, no, don't go there. 04:21 Several years behind me, does that help. 04:23 Young enough to be my daughter. 04:24 Oh, wow! Yeah. 04:27 I got to be truthful but she is younger than me. 04:29 But I remember we were so young at the time, 04:32 and took on a huge project, 04:33 you know, and all these years later, 04:36 you're still there. 04:37 What a blessing. Yeah. 04:39 How did you two meet, you and Julia? 04:41 I'll let her tell you. Okay. 04:43 That's an interesting story. 04:45 You know, I started attending Pastor John Carter's meetings 04:48 because they were in the English language. 04:52 Of course, they spoke in the English language 04:53 and I was a teacher of English 04:55 and I wanted to listen to English. 04:58 And then the message penetrated my heart 05:02 and my brother was the governor of Nizhny Novgorod province 05:06 at that time. 05:08 And I went to his office once, 05:11 everything was so simple, 05:12 you know, no security, no guards, 05:15 and I went into the back room, 05:17 where my brother relax, took his... 05:21 Oh, no some time to eat something 05:24 or to drink his tea. 05:26 And there I went into that room, 05:27 I opened the door a little bit 05:30 that led to his office, 05:32 and there I see all those people 05:35 who I saw on this stage of a huge sports arena 05:39 during those meetings. 05:41 There was Pastor John Carter, there was Danny, 05:43 there was their attorney, Harold followed, 05:47 and other people from the United States. 05:50 So that was the first time when I really, you know, 05:55 saw Danny, and then after that meeting, 05:58 I came up to them, I came up to the group. 06:01 So probably that was the first time 06:03 when we just saw one and another. 06:06 Yeah, you know what we were doing there? 06:08 What? 06:09 We didn't go over our own free will, 06:11 Pastor Carter knocked on my door and said, 06:14 the governor wants to see us. 06:16 And he said, "I don't think 06:17 he's too happy about all the baptisms 06:19 that's been taking place." 06:21 We had 2,532 people that were baptized. 06:25 And so the governor in the arch, 06:27 I don't know, it's archbishop. Yeah, archbishop. 06:28 Archbishop wants to talk, 06:31 they want to talk to you. 06:32 So I and, you know, I jokingly said, 06:35 "Well, let me know how it goes or something like that." 06:37 And he's like, "No, they want you too, 06:39 you know, you're part of this 3ABN, 06:41 you're the media part," so we went to visit him. 06:44 And at first it was a pretty, 06:46 you know, her brother was, was very direct, 06:50 but he was nice, has nice face about him. 06:52 Very young. 06:54 I think he was 33 years old or some at the time 06:56 33, 34 years old, 06:58 and very young, maybe 35, 07:01 I don't remember, early 30s. 07:02 And so he looked too young to be a governor. 07:06 And so, but he was there and so the archbishop, 07:10 he told, asked Elder Carter, "What are you doing?" 07:12 "Baptizing people." 07:14 'And why are you baptizing people?" 07:15 The Russians are, 07:17 you know, baptized are sprinkled into the, 07:19 I guess, the Orthodox, 07:21 Russian Orthodox Church when they're babies. 07:22 And so you really don't need to do any of this. 07:25 And so why are you doing all of this? 07:26 And, you know, we really, 07:28 and, you know, the Orthodox priest 07:31 actually ran the conversation. 07:35 And I felt like the governor 07:36 was just trying to listen to him 07:39 and maybe appease him. 07:40 And not sure where he stood himself, 07:43 but I think he was supportive of the church 07:45 because that's the, you know, the Russian church. 07:47 Traditional Russian. 07:49 Yeah, and so, as we begin to talk Elder Carter, 07:54 really, I mean, he would spoke so boldly, 07:56 I couldn't believe how boldly he spoke. 07:59 And so there, her brother said something like, 08:02 well, you know, you all gonna have to leave. 08:05 And Elder Carter said, "Well, you can send us out, 08:08 but we will come back. 08:10 There's more Adventists and all the people 08:11 who have joined the Adventist Church, 08:13 they're gonna be witnessing to people." 08:15 And so then he said, 08:17 and besides US News 08:19 and World Report governor said that 08:20 you are the most democratic governor 08:23 in all the Ex-Soviet Union. 08:25 But he said, it doesn't sound like it to me 08:27 because he said in America, 08:30 the Russian Orthodox Church is a minority, 08:33 but we don't kick them out. 08:35 And we don't tell them, they can't be here 08:37 and proselytize or try to win people. 08:40 And so he says, 08:41 so you shouldn't do that either 08:43 if you're a democratic government, 08:44 you should support, 08:45 you know, both of us. 08:47 And so, finally, the governor said, 08:49 well, why do we need the baptism? 08:51 So that's when Elder Carter said, 08:52 "Oh, I happened to have a letter." 08:54 And I didn't know at the time if he knew in advance, 08:57 or if it just the Lord worked it out that way. 09:00 But he pulled out this letter. 09:01 He said, may I read it? 09:03 The governor was like, you know, okay. 09:05 So he said, yeah, 09:07 and I just remember part of it started out. 09:09 Thank you all for coming in. 09:11 And your message is brought me out of darkness 09:13 into marvelous light, something like that, right Julia? 09:16 It was a long letter. 09:17 It was several pages, six pages, I think. 09:19 Wow! 09:21 And so he started... 09:22 I just described my experience with the Lord 09:23 that I had through those meetings. 09:26 And so the governor was not that impressed, 09:28 or the archbishop tell at the end, he's like, okay. 09:32 And he says, this letter was written governed by, 09:35 or he said something like, who wrote this letter? 09:38 Who is this from? 09:39 And he said, Julia Outkina and the governor's like, who? 09:43 The Julia Outkina. He goes, that's my sister. 09:47 Oh, wow! 09:49 Look at God, look at how God just, 09:51 how He brought you together and... 09:53 That changed everything. Incredible. 09:55 And he said, and I didn't know that she would, 09:57 was walking in or looking through the back door 10:00 because we hadn't met. 10:01 And he said, when he said, that's my sister 10:04 and he knew Julia is his older sister, 10:06 and he trusted her and loved her, 10:08 knew she wouldn't just be out, whatever. 10:10 So literally, everything changed. 10:13 So he told that the governor, you know what? 10:15 We're just gonna have to get together, 10:16 we have a greater enemy than each other 10:19 is communism, 10:20 we don't want communism back. 10:22 So we're gonna, you know, 10:23 have to make room for everybody. 10:25 And, of course, the archbishop wasn't happy at all. 10:27 So then he said to somebody, 10:29 we're gonna get the media in here. 10:31 And he told him that I never forget, 10:33 he told the archbishop, 10:35 you smile when camera comes on. 10:37 And you shake hands. 10:38 Yeah, shake hands with Elder Carter. 10:40 Yeah. 10:41 And you smile, he said. 10:43 Wow. 10:44 And so, you know, then he took over the meeting. 10:47 But after that, I mean, 10:48 her brother was always a tremendous support 10:51 when I got to meet him on a, you know, 10:53 more in a personal way, after, 10:55 you know, 10:56 this particular time and getting to know him 10:58 and he was always supportive. 11:00 And for those that don't know, Julia's brother, 11:04 Boris Nemtsov was one literally was, 11:07 just say, killed or executed, 11:09 but in Moscow, assassinated in Moscow. 11:12 How many years? Is that four? 11:14 2015, February of 2015. 11:17 About four years ago, 11:18 and that, which is terrible. 11:22 I mean, because he was part of like an opposition group, 11:25 or, you know, and of course, 11:28 so I don't know if they ever decided 11:30 or who knows, God knows what it is. 11:32 But what a tremendous work that your brother did 11:35 because I know, out of the... 11:37 I think there was a 12 or 13 foreign businesses 11:41 that was opened up 11:43 into Nizhny Novgorod into Russia in that area. 11:46 He had 52 million people in his constituency. 11:49 Huge. 11:51 I mean, tremendous amount of people 11:53 and there were only I think, 11:54 12 or 13 foreign businesses 11:56 that they allowed to come in 11:59 and actually get property like we did. 12:01 And out of those within I think two years, 12:03 I think, every one of those businesses 12:05 were, went left, 12:07 either went to front or left, 12:10 and we're the only ones that stayed in there 12:13 but a lot of it was, you know, 12:14 his support in so many ways 12:16 that you know, he didn't just get up 12:18 and say this is gonna happen or that. 12:20 But if we had questions, had ideas 12:22 and whatever that he was able to support 3ABN 12:26 and, of course, he loved Julia, you know, so much. 12:29 Yeah. Thank you, Danny. 12:31 You know, 12:35 Danny always is a vibrant speaker. 12:39 And as far as that meeting is concerned, 12:42 he just told me, he said, you know, 12:45 it was probably one of very few meetings 12:48 in the governor's office when I couldn't speak, 12:52 I just listen to what other people said. 12:55 Because that was, and you know, I, 12:58 Danny he always kind of says good things about me, 13:04 whenever he can. 13:06 And I want to take this opportunity 13:08 to say the most wonderful things 13:10 about Danny. 13:12 Jesus in Danny, this is what Danny likes to say. 13:15 He says, I'm not lifting up, Julia, 13:17 I'm lifting up Jesus in Julia. 13:19 And I want to take this opportunity 13:20 to lift up Jesus in Danny. 13:22 Because you know, it is the purity of his heart 13:26 and it is the boldness of his vision 13:30 that has made 3ABN Russia possible. 13:33 Because if his intentions were not pure, 13:36 the Lord wouldn't bless the way He has blessed. 13:39 If his intentions were not pure, 13:41 the Lord wouldn't have blessed 3ABN the way 13:43 He has blessed 3ABN worldwide 13:46 because the Lord knows it all. 13:49 And, you know, and the most amazing thing for me 13:53 is his faith. 13:54 No matter what happens, 13:57 you know, it is my example, 14:00 what Danny says, 14:01 I don't lose sleep over the bad. 14:05 Really terrible things happening sometimes 14:08 to people like him, 14:10 because the devil is so much against, 14:12 he doesn't want God's work to go around the world. 14:15 So Danny says, I never lose my sleep. 14:17 And I think how calm, 14:19 how can you not lose your sleep. 14:21 I lose my sleep over so many things, 14:23 sometimes even very small things. 14:26 And then, you know, 14:28 27 years is a long time. 14:30 I was baptized 27 years ago, 14:32 and it is a growing process for all of us. 14:35 I'm convinced about that 14:37 and I'm sure that growing process 14:39 will continue till the end, 14:41 till our very last breath. 14:44 Because we're all unfit for the kingdom. 14:47 There's no, not a single person who is fit, 14:50 and the Lord just to make us happy, 14:54 to make us happy in Him, 14:57 to make us pure in Him, 14:59 He puts us through all those difficult circumstances 15:02 where we make our choices for Him, 15:05 for His kingdom, for His character 15:10 and that's what we grow through it. 15:12 So what I want to say it is, 15:15 again, uplifting Jesus in Danny, 15:18 but due to him, there is 3ABN 15:20 and there is 3ABN Russia 15:21 and they continue to flourish in the Lord 15:25 and Lord's cause continues. 15:27 I believe only in the eternity will we know 15:30 what 3ABN has done around the world. 15:33 Because we don't see the viewers physically, 15:38 they see us but we don't see them. 15:41 And then you don't have enough feedback to know 15:44 what's happening there. 15:47 And only in the eternity 15:48 we will know how mass media affects the hearts 15:52 when the message comes into human home. 15:56 So thank you, Danny, I remember about those things. 15:59 I don't lose my sleep over any bad things. 16:03 Because why? 16:04 Because he trusts the Lord. 16:06 That's right. 16:07 He knows, whatever the Lord does 16:08 is the best thing for all of us, 16:11 for Danny, for the ministry, for everything. 16:14 And he knows that God has His hand 16:16 on him and this ministry. 16:18 This ministry is God's ministry, 16:20 and so God protects it 16:22 and guides it and has given Danny 16:24 the personality 16:28 to be at the helm of it. 16:29 And that's such a blessing, 16:31 you know, the strength and the faith 16:33 and it all comes from the Lord, 16:35 so we praise the Lord for that. 16:37 He hates when we talk about him, 16:39 by the way, I know he's squirming. 16:41 Yeah, he is speechless again. 16:43 But he always very good at telling others, 16:46 you know, how much they've done and all that and so. 16:49 You know, we should say this on time 16:51 because let us not say those things too late. 16:53 That's right. Yeah. 16:55 And just, you know, praise the Lord, 16:57 praise the Lord, for, 16:58 you know, for people like Danny, 17:00 for the ministry like 3ABN. 17:02 It makes the difference in the world. 17:04 You know, people do things, 17:05 it doesn't mean anybody's perfect. 17:07 We all make mistakes, 17:08 we all fall short of the glory of God, 17:10 we all sin, 17:11 but we keep coming back. 17:13 And when you at home, don't be discouraged. 17:15 No matter what happens to you, 17:16 what people are saying about you, 17:18 maybe even if it's true, 17:19 you just say, Lord, please forgive me. 17:21 And you know what? The Lord will forgive you. 17:23 And He says, 17:24 "He will forgive us from our sins, 17:25 cleanse us from all unrighteousness." 17:27 We can get up on our feet, 17:29 take off again, we get knocked down. 17:31 Satan will hate you 17:32 if you're about the Lord's business. 17:34 In fact, I always like to say, 17:36 there're lot of people, 17:38 he's got all this little, little, 17:39 what do you call them? 17:41 Little, little... 17:42 Minions. Yeah. 17:43 But people 17:45 who are on the front line for the Lord, 17:46 he knows, the devil knows their names. 17:49 And he's after, he's out to steal, kill, and to destroy. 17:52 Things that have happened to Julia 17:54 in the last number of years are just, 17:56 you know, some of you look and say this is terrible. 17:59 How does she keep going? 18:00 In the same year, last year, 18:03 not only your brother, and your husband, 18:05 you know, in an accident. 18:07 I mean, this is just terrible to be able to do that, 18:10 and then continue to go on and to go forward. 18:14 But you can only do that 18:15 because the peace that you have in the Lord. 18:18 So, Julia, for instance, 18:20 when we went to Russia, 18:22 and we're just talking today, 18:23 and maybe I'm sure there's a reason for it. 18:26 And the Lord wants somebody to hear 18:27 but when we went to Russia, 18:30 as I said, I don't think I was, 18:31 maybe I was right around 40 years old. 18:33 I thought I was, 18:35 you know, oldest, 18:36 I ever needed to be and now look back... 18:37 I was 39. Yeah. 18:39 So you may have been 40. 18:40 Yeah, 40, 41. 18:41 So I... 18:43 Well, it's '92 I was born, 51, so I'd been 41. 18:45 And so when I went there, I turned on my birthday, 18:49 I think in Russia I was there on my birthday on May 19, 18:52 my birthday but when I went there, 18:55 and we saw this huge, 18:59 you know, amount, a great response 19:01 that you know, 19:03 the church in Nizhny held like 200 people or 250. 19:06 And so when we went to build this facility 19:10 and the government had opened up 19:11 for the first time for foreigners 19:13 and then eight acres of property 19:15 and then look like a bombed out shelter. 19:17 What happened? They never finished. 19:18 What was supposed to be, what was it? 19:20 A theater or... 19:22 Yeah, a Palace of Culture for a metal plant, 19:25 metal factory that was nearby. 19:29 Yeah. 19:30 And so it never got finished in this huge facility. 19:33 Maybe 250,000 square feet of, it's so big, 19:36 you've never really figured out how to measure 19:38 'cause you can't just walk around it 19:39 and measure. 19:41 At time you go upstairs, 19:42 Jim's on like, there were six floors 19:43 or something, is way up. 19:45 And then, of course, 19:46 there's a basement under the whole thing. 19:47 But to go there and see this, 19:49 I'll never forget Bob Ellis and Bob is now resting, 19:52 you know, and waiting a second coming as of few months ago. 19:57 And so Bob went and I was telling him, 19:59 he's a newspaper writer, 20:02 here in Southern Illinois, a very well-known person. 20:05 And I said, Bob, 20:06 the Lord has opened the door, we bought this huge facility, 20:09 we're gonna build this, 20:11 you know, I don't know at the time 20:13 if we call it Christian Cultural Center 20:15 or what it was, 20:17 but we're building this huge facility there 20:19 for the glory of God. 20:20 So I want you to come back with me. 20:22 And he said, "Oh, I'd love it." 20:23 When we went there and when we got out, 20:27 drove up to the place, 20:28 there was water trucks out in the street 20:30 with great big pumps in the basement, 20:33 were all been flooded. 20:34 And so they were pouring out 20:36 thousands and thousands of gallons of water 20:38 was in it, was a muddy mess. 20:40 And there was trees growing, 20:41 you could hardly see the building, 20:43 trees all over, weeds, I mean, brush. 20:45 And it was like, 20:46 you had to duck through and move things. 20:48 We actually have some of that video 20:50 that maybe we'll be able to show here 20:52 that how just trying to find it. 20:54 And Bob went back to the room 20:56 and he told me later, 20:58 "I've never been so depressed in my life." 21:01 How are you come into a place like Russia, 21:04 and you have nothing over here, 21:05 you don't know anybody 21:07 and you think you're gonna make a, 21:09 you know, an evangelism center here. 21:12 This is impossible. 21:13 So he took it a lot worse than we. 21:15 I was encouraged, I said, 21:16 man, God has just opened the doors and he's like, 21:19 that's the biggest mess I've ever seen. 21:22 You know, it'll take you years to finish that 21:24 and no telling how much money 21:26 but I just knew the Lord said to do it, 21:29 opened up the doors. 21:30 And then later Bob tells the story himself. 21:33 He said, I never believed in the inward but miracle. 21:37 But I learned to traveling with 3ABN 21:41 to see when God open so many doors. 21:44 But while the facility is big, 21:46 all of that, that's not the main reason. 21:50 To me the emphasis is on souls 21:52 coming to the kingdom of God. 21:53 Yes. 21:55 But when I met Julia, 21:56 now in Russia, you have to understand the mentality 21:58 that people for one of the men told me there 22:02 right after communism fell. 22:04 We pretend to work 22:05 and the government pretends to pay us. 22:07 So they had all these jobs and the government take, 22:10 takes care of everything. 22:11 But you really don't climb up the ladder like your hair, 22:14 you don't use your own vision to go create new jobs 22:18 or to start your own businesses, 22:19 they never had that. 22:21 So then the mentality is they're making $15 a month 22:25 at that time. 22:26 You know, yeah, gas was only 11 cents 22:29 or something a gallon is very cheap. 22:31 But you know, and rent was very cheap. 22:32 But for the mentality of the people, 22:36 we didn't know who we could trust 22:37 or who we couldn't. 22:39 So we're gonna go be 22:40 putting hundreds of thousands of dollars. 22:42 But the bank wanted 40%. 22:46 If we put money in the bank it was 40%, 22:48 I believe when we first started. 22:49 Wow. 22:51 And so we said, "Well, we can't let them charge us 40%, 22:54 $40,000 for putting money in the bank," 22:57 and that was a fortune then. 22:58 So we ended up getting our own safe, 23:01 but we ended up, 23:02 you know, first we kept some money in the conference 23:04 and said that they're safe. 23:07 And then later I would take over 23:08 as much as $100,000 cash at a time 23:11 when John Carter was there, 23:13 and my cousin Janice's husband, 23:15 and carrying that on the trains and in the subways 23:18 and all that hoping people are making $15 a month 23:21 and I've got $100,000 cash is going to 3ABN Russia 23:24 because this facility had to be finished was a, 23:27 you know, 23:29 to me, it's a monument to the Lord, 23:31 to give praise and honor and glory to Him. 23:33 But so I met Julia. 23:36 And so when I went to the church, 23:38 you were there to translate, right? 23:40 When I met Elder Basil Stolyar. 23:44 That was in... 23:45 We first met in my brother's office. 23:47 And then we met 23:49 in the conference president's office. 23:51 And that was not supposed to be the person 23:55 who was supposed to translate fell ill. 23:58 And when I became, 24:00 just wrote down my baptismal vows, 24:03 signed my baptismal vows. 24:05 I just said, whenever the church can use me, 24:07 I'll be happy to and I'm a translator. 24:09 So just before that meeting, 24:12 they call me and they say, 24:13 can you help at a meeting 24:17 to translate? 24:19 And I said, "Yes, I will be happy to." 24:20 So this is where we really met with Danny. 24:23 Wow. 24:24 Again, you can just see God's hand in that. 24:26 Yeah. 24:28 Oh, yeah, she said she wasn't supposed to be there. 24:30 And so we went there. 24:31 And so I said, "Well, we're gonna have to, 24:34 you know, build something, 24:35 how we gonna, who we gonna work with, 24:37 what are we gonna do." 24:38 So was it then I asked you to... 24:40 Yes. 24:41 Right at the end of that meeting, 24:43 you just asked the conference president. 24:47 Well, you talked with him in my presence, 24:50 just saying that I would like to hire this person 24:52 for translating to this American supervisor, 24:58 to work on the construction to finish 25:00 constructing the facility. 25:02 It was just there at that meeting. 25:04 And did you pray about it 25:06 and think about it for some time? 25:07 Oh, you know, 25:09 I was immediately the happiest person 25:11 in the world 25:13 because I was a teacher of English. 25:15 And I accepted God in the first place 25:21 through the meetings held by Pastor John Carter. 25:24 And I called and joined with 3ABN 25:26 because as far as I know, 25:27 100% of the finances for that series in my city 25:32 was raised through 3ABN due to Danny. 25:35 Danny had that vision 25:36 that, like, you know, 25:39 not just the money comes to 3ABN, 25:41 the money comes for evangelizing the world. 25:44 And so they... 25:50 I'm still with jet lag. 25:52 No. That's all right. 25:53 No, no. 25:55 So while we were talking about you accepting, 25:57 you said you was the happiest person 25:58 in the world. 25:59 Oh, yes, yes, yes, because I was supposed 26:01 to go back to my work 26:03 as a teacher of English in a university. 26:08 And I accepted, 26:11 you know, the Lord with all my heart, 26:13 was so happy. 26:14 But I was not ready to talk to other people about this, 26:17 including Sabbath. 26:19 I accepted Sabbath without a question. 26:22 If it's God's law, then it's my law, 26:24 I want to keep His law. 26:26 But I didn't want to talk to my employees 26:29 at the university about that. 26:31 I was not ready for that. 26:32 And then here, you know, 26:34 comes Danny, and he's impressed from one meeting, 26:38 isn't it the Lord who was, 26:40 you know, letting him know, letting me know, 26:44 he's showing us a little bit of the huge plan 26:46 that he had, at that time for this project. 26:50 And I thought, 26:51 "Oh, I don't have to tell anyone 26:52 about Sabbath." 26:54 Now they're in the university, 26:55 I just, I will just, 26:57 you know, work for the Lord. 27:00 And I will be among fellow believers. 27:04 So I was the happiest person in the world. 27:07 And then I started working with John Cantor, 27:10 following him as a translator. 27:12 And those were long hours, he was a big guy. 27:17 So, you know, so hard working. 27:21 He gave so much time, I don't know. 27:24 I'm, frankly speaking, 27:26 I need to sleep a long to be in a good shape. 27:29 And the Lord performed His other miracle there 27:33 because I couldn't sleep long enough hours 27:35 working with John Cantor, 27:37 but I was in a good shape. 27:39 And I was happy. Praise the Lord. 27:41 So you accepted right away 27:44 they offered the work? 27:45 Oh, yes, yes, yes. Yeah. 27:47 And I remember, if I remember this correctly, 27:50 I thought there's no way I could pay her $15 a month, 27:53 you know, $25. 27:55 And then I felt even badly about that 27:56 'cause I'm looking at what we make. 27:58 Right. 27:59 But they don't pay $500 a month or $1,000 a month 28:02 for rent there either. 28:03 Right. 28:05 And so the people told us, well, don't overpay 28:07 'cause people expect stuff. 28:08 So I said, 28:10 you know, I'd be happy to pay like $25 a month 28:13 that wasn't quite doubling her salary, but almost. 28:16 And she said, "Oh, no." 28:17 And I remember this, she said, 28:19 "Look, if I work for the world, 28:21 you know, for $15 a month, 28:23 I'm sure not gonna charge more to work for the Lord, 28:26 to work for God. 28:27 So just pay me the same." 28:29 And I've told the story before, 28:30 but over the years, we thought we gave her raises. 28:33 We thought we gave her clothes, when she'd come over here, 28:35 people take her shopping. 28:37 Then when I went back, I would see some of the women 28:39 wearing her clothes... 28:41 And so I understand and shame on you, 28:44 no, not really but she, 28:47 I found out later after years that when she got raises, 28:50 she was giving it to her workers. 28:52 And so, 28:53 you know, that kind of dedication, 28:54 but here's the thing that's really interesting. 28:56 I wanna talk to the folks at home for a second. 28:59 Sometimes, you know, that you know, that you know, 29:02 the instant I met her there to governor's office. 29:07 Then when we went 29:08 to the Basil Stolyar the conference union president, 29:11 conference president 29:13 and went to his office 29:15 and was having a meeting, 29:16 it's like the Lord told me, 29:18 "You can trust her. 29:19 You can trust her." 29:21 Now I had heard stories and people say, 29:23 what's the big deal about that? 29:25 Again, the temptation, I'd heard stories of pastors, 29:29 that one pastor, 29:30 somebody conference gave him $1100 to take somewhere. 29:33 They never saw him again 29:35 'cause it's $1100 when you make $15 a month, 29:38 tremendous amount of money. 29:40 And so the banks and other people, 29:43 they say it's a different mentality 29:45 because they've always not gotten anything. 29:49 And now here, doors are opening up, 29:50 and you have to be careful, 29:52 just who you trust with your money. 29:55 Right. 29:56 They didn't know about receipts. 29:57 I mean, that seems hard for me to believe. 29:59 But when we put the first amount of money 30:01 about $50,000, 30:03 in the conference safe, 30:05 I said, "Now, it takes two people 30:08 to sign the receipt." 30:10 I said, "John Cantor, 30:12 when he wants the money to spend on supplies, 30:15 he has to sign 30:17 and then you have to sign." 30:18 And he said, "Well, what am I signing?" 30:20 And I said, "Well, it's a receipt." 30:22 And he said, "A receipt?" 30:23 I said, "Yeah, we have to account for the money. 30:26 Take back to the accounting, 30:28 I have to account to the money 30:30 that we've taken out. 30:31 And I'm thinking just like you do here. 30:34 And so he said, 30:35 "Are you gonna have to do that for everybody, 30:37 like people you hire, 30:39 you know, on the job site?" 30:40 And I said, "Well, sure. 30:42 And we need two signatures." 30:43 And he said, "Well, I feel badly for you." 30:46 I said, "Why?" 30:47 And he said, "We don't do things like that." 30:49 And people right now in that condition, 30:51 you're not gonna get these workers sign in anything. 30:53 Everybody is afraid to sign their name to something. 30:56 And so you're not gonna be able to get receipts. 30:59 And so I found that to be true. 31:01 And like for instance, we started construction, 31:05 we rented a truck to bring in sand. 31:07 We wanted to fill up this great big auditorium 31:10 and poured concrete. 31:12 So nice truck came. 31:14 So this truck was coming, guy was driving. 31:16 And so I said to John Cantor, I said, 31:19 "We're gonna need a truck." 31:20 We got this eight acres all this building, 31:22 why don't we see if we can buy one, 31:23 buy it from him? 31:25 So he went and asked the driver, 31:26 he said, "Can we buy the truck?" 31:30 And he said, "Well, is it for sale?" 31:33 He said, "Well, probably 31:34 how much would you give?" 31:36 So John said, 31:37 "They won't know how much you'll give us." 31:39 I say, "Well, it's his truck, 31:40 you know, let him ask him, 31:42 what do you take for it?" 31:43 And the guy said, he come back and said, 31:45 "Well, he said he take $200." 31:47 I said, "For a big truck like that 31:49 that's worth thousands." 31:51 And he said, "He take $200." 31:54 I said, "Well, tell him to give us the title." 31:56 You know, we want us the title and we'll sign it. 31:58 So he talked to him. He said. "He didn't. What's the title?" 32:01 He said, "Oh, he didn't own it. 32:02 He didn't really own the truck." 32:04 That when the government 32:05 had literally communism had fallen, 32:07 they'd left equipment in the fields, 32:09 there was backhoes, trackhoes, 32:10 you know, heavy equipment, 32:12 and people were just get in and start using it 32:14 'cause they didn't really know it was in such disarray, 32:17 maybe hard for people to believe now. 32:19 And even some of the younger Russians 32:21 that didn't experience go through this. 32:23 And so he ended up, you know, saying, 32:26 "Well, here I'll sell you the truck." 32:28 It's not we said, "We'll wait a minute." 32:29 It wasn't even his. Yeah, it wasn't his. 32:31 But I'm saying so, 32:33 here I said how we gonna do this and handle 32:36 but the Lord really impressed me. 32:38 I could trust Julia. Yes. 32:39 And I met her brother 32:41 and I felt like I could trust him. 32:42 Not that he was Adventist Christian. 32:44 He wasn't at that time. 32:46 But I knew he seemed honest. 32:47 Yes. 32:49 And I said, "You know what, that runs in the family." 32:50 I can tell he was sincere when he talked to us. 32:53 He wasn't supportive necessarily of us being there, 32:56 but he was straightforward. 32:57 And I said, "I like him, 32:59 even though I may not agree." 33:00 You can tell he's somebody who is trustworthy. 33:03 And, you know. She's trustworthy. 33:04 Mom is too. My mamushka. 33:09 I just wanna say I love you. 33:12 I love your mom. 33:13 She's just so wonderful, so I just had to say... 33:15 I did too. I love mom, too. 33:17 We love her. She's just so precious. 33:20 And you called her mamushka. Yeah. 33:22 And mom calls Yvonne, "Yvonneshka." 33:24 Yeah. Yvonneshka. 33:26 You know, when you were for our 25th anniversary, 33:28 there at 3ABN Russia. 33:31 And you were so gracious to come and greet my mom. 33:36 She's 91 now. 33:38 So it was a couple of years ago. 33:40 And, you know, 33:42 she came downstairs to greet you 33:44 because it was a huge group of people. 33:46 And she said, 33:47 "I don't know if I want them all in my apartment." 33:49 So I'll just go downstairs to greet them. 33:52 And then, you know, she saw Yvonne 33:54 and there must have been such warmth from Yvonne. 33:57 She just, since then 33:59 she started calling her 34:00 the gentle Russian name, Yvonneshka. 34:03 So she doesn't hear really well. 34:06 And she wouldn't watch a lot of TV. 34:08 But when I see Yvonne on TV singing on 3ABN 34:13 then I just say, "Mom, look, who is this?" 34:15 She says, "Yvonneshka." 34:18 So thank you for being, 34:19 you know, another thing that I want to say about Danny, 34:22 and you, you know, 34:24 you are such loving people, 34:26 Danny, such 27 years 34:29 I have known Danny, he's such a loving person. 34:33 He doesn't see bad in you 34:35 because there is bad 34:36 whenever just you say Christ in me, 34:38 I'm happy that you see Christ in me, not myself. 34:41 And he is loving, 34:44 he has never, he's my boss, 34:46 he has never done a single thing 34:48 that would humiliate me, that would hurt me. 34:53 It has always been only uplifting, 34:56 only encouraging. 34:57 And this makes me want, 34:59 you know, to do more things. 35:01 Because it's not easy to be an administrator, 35:04 it's not easy. 35:05 It's not easy for anyone. 35:06 It's not easy for me. 35:08 There are people and it's not easy to, 35:11 you know, to manage. 35:13 You know, there are different interests, 35:14 there are different ambitions, 35:16 there are sometimes wrong motives. 35:19 And it's hard to manage people. 35:21 But, you know, with Danny, 35:23 I have always been encouraged just to go on. 35:27 You know there have been situations 35:28 when I think, "Can I go on?" 35:30 And then I think I want never to let Danny down. 35:33 Because how can I 35:35 with such an amazing ministry of 3ABN or 3ABN Russia. 35:39 So thank you, Danny, for your love. 35:41 I don't know a single person, 35:44 a single person and being, 35:47 you know, knowing you for 27 years 35:50 I know most or all of your, 35:53 you know, big, 35:54 like they say friends and enemies, 35:56 and supporters and the opposite. 35:59 And I don't know that you hate anyone of them. 36:03 You love them all. 36:04 You love them in the Lord. 36:06 Even if you know they're not lovable, 36:09 you still love them in the Lord. 36:11 Well, we try. 36:12 And we're gonna go to video in a minute. 36:14 But what I wanted to say you notice Julia deflects 36:17 to as you'd say. 36:18 When I'm talking about her nice thing, 36:20 she kind of turns it back to somebody else. 36:23 Yeah, that is you. 36:24 And, well, because we both understand it's not us. 36:27 And as she said she's not perfect. 36:29 I'm not perfect. 36:30 But I wanna say it was your dedication, 36:33 without Julia, 36:35 there would not have been 3ABN Russia. 36:38 Because I knew that I could trust her. 36:42 And so with amounts of money, 36:44 with decisions that she would make 36:47 because John Cantor, 36:49 he didn't know Russian when he went over there, 36:51 he learned pretty quickly, 36:53 but we don't know what to do. 36:54 So we really depended on her to build this huge facility 36:58 and ended up on putting tremendous amounts of money. 37:01 But I mean, evangelism, 37:02 all the work now literally thousands of people 37:05 have found the Lord and joined the SDA Church. 37:09 Amen. 37:10 And continues to be so because of 3ABN Russia. 37:13 So, Julia, we'll talk about that just for a little bit. 37:16 And then you got a video you're gonna show us, right? 37:19 Kind of an update. 37:20 We always look forward to that. 37:22 Yeah, it's been amazing 27 years, 37:25 and I'm so thankful 37:26 that you guys are soon coming to Russia, 37:28 20 people from 3ABN. 37:32 Oh, what a special event 37:36 27 years, 37:38 celebrating 27 years. 37:40 And, you know, 37:43 it is amazing 37:45 what the Lord has been doing at 3ABN Russia in Russia 37:49 through 3ABN during these 27 years. 37:52 You know, you will see it on the video the exact numbers. 37:56 But can you imagine we are speaking about the times 37:58 when you could buy a truck from someone 38:01 that didn't belong to him for $200. 38:03 And, you know, and today we are... 38:06 Russia has satellites. 38:11 Russia has cable companies, 38:13 we didn't have any at that time. 38:15 And, you know, 38:17 and Russia takes 3ABN Russia's productions, 38:20 we are on two Russian satellites. 38:23 Thank you, dear viewers of 3ABN who make it possible, 38:26 it is only due to you. 38:29 And those two satellites, they cover the whole of Russia. 38:32 And we are rebroadcast 38:33 by about I think 170 cable companies 24/7. 38:38 Wow. Isn't that a miracle? It's amazing. 38:40 Yeah, that's amazing. 38:42 And we have over 10,000 programs 38:44 that we have produced in television, 38:46 over 10,000 programs that we have produced 38:50 for radio broadcasting. 38:51 So what the Lord is doing it is amazing. 38:56 And I just, 38:57 you know, once again, I want to come back to that thought, 39:01 you know, the faith. 39:03 Faith has made it possible. 39:05 Yes. 39:06 Because Jesus says several times 39:08 it is written in the gospels 39:09 that He couldn't perform miracles 39:12 because of their unbelief. 39:14 So 3ABN is a miracle. 39:15 3ABN Russia is a miracle. 39:17 And God performed this miracle. 39:19 Miracles not us, 39:21 but Him because of our belief. 39:24 Yes. We allow Him to do this. 39:27 And praise the Lord that, 39:30 you know, it is something very majestic. 39:34 We don't know its significance while we're here, 39:37 we will know its significance in the eternity. 39:40 We will know its scale in the eternity. 39:42 We still don't know it. 39:44 That's right. 40:30 Let us read on, 40:31 "They remembered not His hand, 40:33 nor the day when He delivered them 40:35 from the enemy." 40:36 When we remember the Lord's hand, 40:39 how He keeps faithful and powerfully delivering us 40:42 so that His will about the salvation of this world 40:45 is fulfilled through our service to Him, 40:48 then our faith grows and strengthens 40:50 and we don't limit God. 40:52 Our report today is dedicated 40:54 to remembering God's mighty hand 40:56 performing miracles the best 27 years 40:59 during which 3ABN founded and led 3ABN Russia 41:03 to bring the good news of the eternal salvation 41:06 in Jesus Christ 41:07 to 300 million Russian speaking people of the world. 41:10 Almost 35 years ago, 41:12 Danny Shelton accepted the commission from the Lord 41:15 to build a television station 41:17 that would reach the world 41:18 with the undiluted three angels' messages 41:20 of Revelation 14 41:22 that would counteract the counterfeited 41:24 non-biblical teachings. 41:26 Eight years later in 1992, 41:29 very soon after the fall of the Iron Curtain, 41:31 3ABN opened a new page in its history, 41:34 when Pastor John Carter 41:36 to hold an evangelistic program in Nizhny Novgorod. 41:40 We never get tired of praising our Lord 41:42 for the dedication 41:44 of the beautiful American people 41:46 due to her support of the Lord's cause 41:48 through 3ABN and Carter Report, 41:50 over 3500 Russian people accepted the Lord's salvation, 41:55 among which there were many future workers 41:57 of 3ABN Russia, 41:59 including myself. 42:00 It was then the 3ABN purchased an unfinished structure 42:04 with Palace of Culture, 42:05 which belonged to Nizhny Novgorod metallurgical factory 42:08 and turned it into a gem 42:10 of Russia's Evangelistic Outreach, 42:12 called 3ABN Russia Evangelism Center. 42:16 Today it have the 3ABN Russia studios, 42:19 the local meet at the conference, 42:21 the largest church in Nizhny Novgorod, 42:23 a Christian School, a youth center, 42:25 a Christian ABC store, 42:27 a gym, a motel area for the pastors and visitors, 42:30 and much more. 42:32 3ABN Russia studios 42:34 potentially reach the whole Russian speaking world, 42:37 over 144 million people living in Russia 42:41 via two satellites, 42:42 plus a lot of people in the neighboring countries 42:45 that our satellites reach 42:47 and 300 million Russian speaking people 42:49 of the world via the internet. 42:52 Since we reported to you last May, 42:54 we have produced over 800 video programs in 36 years. 42:59 In total during our 27 years, 43:02 we've put more than 10,000 video programs 43:05 in 135 series on the air. 43:08 In November 2018, we celebrated our little anniversary, 43:12 the production of our 10,000th video program. 43:16 And we praise the Lord with all of our hearts 43:19 for the diverse talents 43:20 that He gives to 3ABN Russia for His glorious sake. 43:24 Our radio department also praises the Lord 43:28 for His great miracles. 43:29 Since last May, 43:30 we have made more than 600 radio programs 43:33 and 12 series. 43:34 In total, during 27 years, 43:37 we've had close to 10,000 radio programs 43:40 in more than 100 series. 43:43 The most efficient way to bring our programs 43:45 to the houses of the Russian people 43:47 is satellite broadcasting. 43:49 But praise the Lord 43:50 that due to the dedication 43:52 and sacrificial support of 3ABN viewers, 43:55 we're around the clock on two Russian satellites 43:58 Express AT-1 and Express AT-2. 44:02 Our coverage is a great example by which the Lord testifies 44:06 that we should trust Him, 44:08 nurture our faith and not limit Him. 44:11 At the beginning of 2018, 44:13 we had asked you to join us in prayer 44:16 that by the end of the year, 44:18 the Lord would give us not less than 150 44:21 around the clock re-broadcasters. 44:23 At that time 150 really seemed a lot 44:27 as our number was 101 partners by the end of 2017. 44:33 But now you can see on the screen 44:35 the number of our partners as we speak, 44:38 and the amount of the cities that we cover. 44:41 Isn't it a miracle of God? 44:43 So let us remember God's mighty hand 44:46 as He Himself 44:47 works on the salvation of the people of this planet. 44:51 To promote 3ABN Russia, 44:53 we participate in different events, 44:55 one of which is CSTB Telecom and Mega Convention, 44:59 it takes place in Moscow, 45:01 and in January this year, 45:02 we participated in it for the fifth time. 45:05 This event provides an opportunity 45:07 to present 3ABN Russia 45:09 to the cable operators of our vast country 45:12 and to personally meet with our potential partners. 45:15 The situation in Russia is such that cable companies 45:18 are short of Russian made quality content. 45:21 And here we are for them, 45:23 offering our wonderful programming 45:25 for free. 45:26 Although our little booth 45:27 is surrounded by the giants of television industry, 45:31 we with the faith in God's power, 45:33 actively distribute catalogs, booklets, 45:36 and other presentation materials, 45:38 and in spite of rather common for Russia prejudice 45:41 against Protestantism 45:43 that led constantly attract people to our booth. 45:46 And they see that we are good people 45:48 proclaiming biblical values 45:50 that are great for our society. 45:53 During this last convention, 45:55 we asked the Lord to give us at least as many new contacts 45:59 as the previous year, which had been 59. 46:02 Do not limit Me, He told us once again, 46:05 by giving us 90 new contacts. 46:08 We're actively working with all of them now, 46:11 and are asking you to join us in prayer 46:13 that they become our partners. 46:16 An amazing example 46:17 that God can give us abundantly more than we ask or think 46:21 is one of our cable partners Ufanet. 46:23 When we signed the contract with them, 46:26 their coverage was 26 cities of Russia. 46:29 But very soon after that, 46:30 they started greatly expanding. 46:33 Now due to them, 46:34 there are 77 cities more 46:37 where 3ABN Russia is on around the clock. 46:40 We also work actively 46:42 on the promotion of our programs 46:43 through social media and YouTube, 46:46 where we currently have over 17,000 viewers and subscribers. 46:50 But the devil does not sleep. 46:52 Recently, cable operators had an FCC check 46:55 of all their stations that have contracts with us. 46:59 At first, we got so worried about this. 47:02 But let us never doubt God. 47:04 He's doing His work of salvation, 47:06 and is Himself responsible for it. 47:09 As a result of that check one of those companies 47:12 which rebroadcast our channel without a contract, 47:15 immediately hurried to sign one with us. 47:18 And the rest of the cable operators 47:20 continue successfully working with us, 47:23 we've lost only two, 47:24 but they both were planning for technical reasons 47:27 to cancel our contract even before that check. 47:30 There are so many other amazing things happening 47:34 at 3ABN Russia 47:35 that we would so much want to share with you. 47:39 Very soon, a group from 3ABN is coming to 3ABN Russia 47:43 to celebrate our 27th anniversary. 47:46 Please follow 3ABN broadcast of this event 47:49 to learn even more 47:51 about what the Lord's mighty hand 47:53 is doing in Russia. 47:55 From the bottom of our hearts 47:57 and on behalf of the Russian people, 48:00 we thank you, 48:01 dear viewers and supporters of 3ABN. 48:04 Thank you for your faith, dedication and sacrifice. 48:08 Thank you for ever remembering God's mighty hand 48:12 for not limiting Him 48:13 as He keeps performing His miracle 48:16 of saving the perishing souls around the world. 48:20 Thank you for joining hands with Him 48:23 and one another is our beautiful Lord 48:26 at these end times 48:28 through the dedicated ministry of 3ABN 48:31 writes new pages 48:33 in His majestic story of the earth's salvation. 48:40 Wow! And look at it now. 48:53 It's just incredible. 48:54 And then when you see 48:56 where God has taken 3ABN Russia, 48:58 all over Russia. 49:01 I mean, God is, He's reaching, 49:03 He cares about and is reaching people 49:06 around the world. 49:08 And it's just, 49:09 it's amazing to me what He's done. 49:11 What I like to do, 49:12 we only have a few more minutes left 49:14 is I wanna ask you to think about, 49:16 maybe pray about it and ask the Lord 49:17 what He would have you to do, 49:19 and help with the Russian work. 49:22 Actually, the satellite 49:24 is about what 9,000 now a month. 49:25 Yes. 49:27 And for quite a while we had somebody 49:28 who was paying that. 49:29 And now we don't, 49:31 so we need that extra help for $9,000 a month. 49:35 But because of that, 49:36 on those satellites as well, 49:37 these hundreds of cable stations 49:39 around literally all the Ex-Soviet Union, 49:42 and all the different ways that people can receive us 49:46 from those satellites. 49:47 And so it's very important that we keep those going. 49:50 And then, of course, every month and in Russia, 49:54 the folks still aren't in a position 49:56 where they can give enough 49:57 to support this entire work. 49:59 But what a blessing, you and me can help 50:01 and so, that's amazing to us, 50:03 Julia, and we thank you for the opportunity 50:06 to be a helped us so much 50:08 for so little is done in Russia and your crew is amazing. 50:12 Our crew goes over and says, 50:14 you know, you bring people to learn from us 50:16 and ours is like I think we can learn from them. 50:18 You know, they do so much with so little, 50:21 absolutely incredible work that you all are doing. 50:24 But I want to ask you to think about it and pray about it. 50:26 Say Lord, what would You have me to do? 50:28 And if you, 50:29 any offering that you give, if it's for Russia, 50:31 you can put Russia or Russian satellite, 50:33 whatever you wanna do, we'll know where it's going, 50:36 we will give you a gift. 50:37 Now we have some of the little Matryoshka, 50:40 the very small little key chain dolls, 50:42 but we don't have very many. 50:43 So the first 50 or so 50:45 that sends a donation of any size, 50:46 we'll send those, 50:48 we're going to Russia here in July when we come back. 50:50 If you want one of those, 50:51 and you've given, we can other, 50:52 but we have some other little gifts for you 50:55 that we want you to be a part of this. 50:58 And to say, we wanna say thank you 51:00 for what you're doing 51:02 for the cause of God in Russia 51:04 because the field is still wide unto harvest, 51:07 the workers, where are we? 51:09 Where are they?
