00:01 - You know, we are inspired on so many levels-
00:03 but JD asked a question during the newsbreak 00:06 of our special guest, Jonathan Duffy, and 00:09 the question was, "Is there a curriculum to 00:14 teach people world development for management projects? 00:17 And what are you looking for for people to work for 00:20 you?" - It's always a challenging question, 00:24 because people are passionate to help others in as many ways 00:28 in which they can volunteer. But sadly, when we are 00:31 an agency such as ADRA, there is a professional 00:35 level that we have. Now, we need a variety of 00:38 skills, we need people with good HR skills, 00:40 we need people with finance... But ultimately, it comes 00:43 down to our programming skills and our emergency 00:46 response. And for young people who'd like to find 00:48 a career in this, then there are courses that 00:51 they can do in national development. There is 00:56 Southern Adventist University, Andrews University, Friedensau 01:00 Adventist University in Germany, Avondale College 01:02 in Australia, and in fact we're working with Middle 01:07 East Adventist University for a curriculum at the moment, 01:10 as well, where there's a huge crisis within the 01:14 Middle East. We haven't even touched on some of 01:16 those issues that are happening there. And so 01:20 for young people, there is a career opportunity 01:22 to do that. We do need professional young people. 01:26 An organization is only as good as the people 01:29 who work for it. - Amen. - And it's not just a normal 01:33 career; we need people who are driven by mission. 01:36 We need people who are driven by wanting to speak 01:39 out and act justly... - Amen. - ...who can love mercy, 01:42 who can show God's compassion. - What a 01:45 great closing statement.
