00:01 I want to spend my life
00:07 Mending broken people 00:12 I want to spend my life 00:19 Removing pain 00:24 Lord, let my words 00:30 Heal a heart that hurts 00:34 I want to spend my life 00:40 Mending broken people 00:46 I want to spend my life 00:51 Mending broken people 01:10 Hello and welcome to another 3ABN Today program. 01:13 My name is Jill Morikone 01:14 and we're so glad that you have taken time 01:16 from your day to join us. 01:18 And this program, I am super excited about 01:22 because we're featuring people 01:23 who are fresh from the mission field. 01:26 They have just returned 01:28 from some incredible experiences overseas 01:32 dealing with evangelism and the exciting thing 01:35 is this particular ministry, 01:37 their whole heartthrob is evangelism. 01:39 Everything that they do 01:42 is centered on reaching the lost 01:44 not just reaching the lost in their community, 01:46 but globally reaching out. 01:48 I'm speaking of Adventist World Radio, 01:51 AWR and we're going to feature the stories, videos, 01:56 and testimonies of change lives. 01:58 So we are so excited that they have joined us here today. 02:01 And 3ABN is always privileged 02:03 to partner with AWR 02:05 and Elder Duane McKey, president of AWR. 02:08 Jill, thank you. 02:09 It's a privilege to have you here. 02:11 Great to be here and thank you 3ABN 02:12 and thank you for letting us come 02:13 and partnering with you. 02:15 This is an exciting time for us to share 02:16 what God is doing around the world. 02:18 Amen. Absolutely. 02:20 Now I know you have served in many capacities 02:22 in the church for several years. 02:24 How long have you been at AWR? 02:26 Two and half years, 02:27 and this is the most exciting experience of my life. 02:29 Amen. 02:30 Thrilling things are happening. We just... 02:32 Anyway, you'll see in a few minutes. 02:34 Amen. Absolutely. 02:35 AWR is about broadcasting around the world. 02:38 Every media platform that even the cell phone, 02:40 radio, shortwave, everything that we... 02:43 Any way that we can broadcast. 02:45 Cell phone we have several hundred thousand people 02:47 every week connecting with us 02:49 through Bible studies on the cell phone. 02:50 Amen. 02:51 What an incredible a ministry! 02:53 Oh, it is. 02:55 You know, evangelistic arm, 02:56 I mean, of the church, it's amazing. 02:57 And all of our staff are so excited about evangelism. 02:59 Most of them 03:01 have preached evangelistic meetings themselves. 03:02 That's right. That's wonderful. 03:04 Now AWR is 360, it's kind of, 03:07 I don't know if you call that umbrella, 03:08 but it merges AWR with evangelism, 03:12 Total Member Involvement. 03:13 Right, Total Member Involvement. 03:14 Now you're also the assistant 03:16 to the president Elder Ted Wilson, 03:17 the General Conference President 03:19 for Total Member Involvement. 03:20 Yes, yes. 03:22 And tell us about how that merger happened 03:23 with AWR and TMI to create AWR360°. 03:26 Some people call it TMI, right? 03:28 And some people say, I know what that means 03:29 and I always say sure, I know what TMI means, 03:31 to many people in Indianapolis. 03:35 But it's Total Member involvement 03:36 and this is why it makes it very clear 03:38 the work will not be finished until pastors and lay people 03:42 join hands together and work together. 03:43 So that's what we're about. 03:45 And Elder Wilson is just fantastic. 03:48 He's the only General Conference President 03:49 who takes time every year 03:52 out of his extremely busy schedule, 03:54 the most, the busiest of anyone, 03:56 and he preaches for two solid weeks 03:58 a series of evangelistic TMI meetings. 04:02 So we call it AWR360° broadcast to baptism. 04:05 Amen. Amen. I love that. 04:07 And we support Elder Ted Wilson 04:09 and his wife Nancy and their leadership 04:11 at the General Conference here at 3ABN 04:13 and we're so grateful for his heart for evangelism. 04:16 It's clear and it comes through definitely. 04:19 Sitting next to you is Cami Oetman, 04:21 who's the Vice President for Advancement with AWR 04:25 and we're delighted to have you back again 04:28 here at 3ABN, Cami. 04:29 Thank you for having us, Jill. 04:30 We love to come here and share 04:33 about what God's doing around the world. 04:34 And it's just... 04:36 It's a real blessing to be here. 04:37 Thank you for having us again. Amen. 04:39 So Vice President for Advancement, 04:40 what does that mean? What is your role entail? 04:43 Well, it's quite a few things, but I definitely... 04:46 For advancement, meaning to get the word out 04:48 and to capture all the stories that come in around the world 04:52 from our radio broadcasters, 04:54 so that we can then share them in publications, 04:57 but also a big part of my job is to create the videos. 05:02 Have the videos created. 05:05 Wherever the stories are, 05:06 go to those countries and really reenact them 05:09 or hopefully get the actual character 05:11 to portray their testimony on film. 05:14 So we can share that not only with donors, 05:16 but use it as an evangelistic tool as well 05:18 to show God's power right now today. 05:20 Amen. 05:22 Nothing more powerful than a personal testimony. 05:23 That's right. 05:24 And when people can visually watch that 05:26 and engage with that, that is powerful. 05:28 Amen. 05:30 Sitting next to you with Pastor Kyle Allen, 05:31 who's Vice President for AWR. 05:33 And it is a privilege to have you too. 05:35 You here as well, Pastor Kyle, get my words out. 05:38 It's a privilege to have you here too. 05:40 Thank you, Jill. Amen. 05:41 I love coming back to 3ABN and it's always a blessing. 05:42 So thank you for having me. Amen. 05:44 So what does your role entail at AWR, 05:46 since we're talking about roles? 05:47 Yes, basically whatever the president assigns me to do, 05:53 I salute and try to do my best. 05:55 And I know it's a blessing. 05:56 I'm traveling, I'm helping 05:58 with different aspects of our office team 06:01 and just supporting the evangelistic efforts 06:04 around the world. 06:05 Also involved with the digital evangelism 06:06 in particular... 06:08 Our centers for digital evangelism, 06:09 which is an exciting project 06:12 where we're empowering young people 06:13 to be digital evangelists around the world. 06:16 Amen. More on that later. 06:17 Okay. 06:19 We can share so many stories about what God is doing. 06:22 Amen. Amen. 06:23 So you all just returned from India. 06:25 So talk to us about India 06:28 and what took place there and with evangelism. 06:31 I love curry and rice. 06:34 Me too. Hot and spicy. 06:35 So there was some food there too, 06:36 not just evangelism. 06:38 For a vegetarian it's a beautiful place to be. 06:40 It's just wonderful. 06:41 So the people are wonderful too. 06:43 There are so many 06:44 who are seeking to know about Jesus. 06:46 That's right. 06:47 Very warm, friendly people. 06:49 It's only one problem, Jill. It's very hot. 06:51 Not only the weather, but the spicy food. 06:54 So you need to be prepared if you go to India. 06:56 That's right. 06:57 Yes. 06:58 So we held evangelistic series and we also broadcast. 07:03 We did the whole gamut really as much as we possibly could. 07:05 Social media... 07:07 Medical. 07:08 And especially medical. 07:10 We want to share that with you. 07:11 It was incredible. 07:13 We've been working in India for several months. 07:14 We've just really... Well, we have a center there. 07:17 Actually, we worked there for years. 07:18 When we focus in a lot of in... 07:22 A lot of special events, medical and also evangelism. 07:26 We supplied, I think, Kyle, 07:28 we said about 1000 video projectors. 07:29 That's right. That's right. 07:31 We supplied 1000 video projectors 07:33 to young people who actually went out 07:36 from Spicer Adventist University 07:38 and Flaiz College and a few other places. 07:41 It's incredible what these young adults did. 07:43 This was in advance of our teams 07:45 that just came back. 07:47 Okay. 07:48 We were just in India about a month ago, 07:50 but these young adults went out 07:51 and they preached in some very difficult places. 07:54 Some of you may have heard 07:56 that India is actually very difficult 07:57 right now for Christianity. 08:00 The government has made things challenging for that, 08:03 but our young people went 08:05 even in areas where it was difficult for them to preach. 08:08 Can I share a quick story? 08:10 Please. Okay. 08:11 So we had a team that was going to a city 08:14 and in this city there was an Adventist Church 08:16 and they contacted the church about coming. 08:19 The church members were afraid though. 08:20 They said, "Don't come. 08:22 If you come, we're not gonna talk to you 08:23 because we think the government might shut us down 08:26 and they won't..." 08:27 So they wouldn't talk to these young people 08:28 that wanted to come and preach in their town, 08:31 but they went anyway. 08:33 The professor from the college said, 08:35 "No, we're gonna go by faith." 08:36 They went to the town 08:38 and they were looking for a place 08:39 to hold their meeting. 08:41 Guess where they held their meeting? 08:42 Of all the places, the Hindu temple. 08:46 The Hindu priest invited them to come 08:48 and hold the meeting at the temple. 08:49 That's amazing. 08:51 And so night after night, 08:52 these students are preaching in the Hindu temple. 08:54 The Hindus are coming. 08:55 And then guess what? 08:56 The church members 08:58 that didn't want to talk to them, 08:59 then they started coming. 09:00 They said, "Well, they're in the temple. 09:02 There are people, we're gonna show up." 09:03 Wow! 09:05 So soon the whole Adventist Church was coming 09:07 and people were making decisions. 09:09 It's incredible and it just... 09:11 The church members after was over they said, 09:12 "Please forgive us. 09:14 Sorry for not having faith 09:15 that God could work even in our town." 09:17 Amen. Amen. 09:18 So... That's awesome. 09:19 The Lord used these young people 09:21 to preach all over India. 09:22 And many decisions were made for Christ. 09:24 Now, you were with one of our guys Morocco. 09:26 Yes. 09:27 You preach in a Sunday church. 09:28 How many people were there? Over... 09:30 Well, we did a seminar 09:31 for over 200 Lutheran pastors in Andhra Pradesh. 09:36 These Lutheran pastors were listening 09:37 to the messages for two days, 09:39 then we invited them to go 09:41 to Muriel Twose evangelistic meetings. 09:43 Many of them came. 09:44 And then Muriel was invited by the bishop 09:46 of the Lutheran church for that whole district 09:47 to speak to his church which has over 10,000 members. 09:51 Amen. 09:52 Isn't that amazing? That's amazing. 09:54 So God is moving in powerful ways, 09:55 even among the Lutherans in India 09:58 to preach the Three Angels' Messages. 10:00 Amen. Amen. 10:01 How many young people were preaching? 10:03 How many evangelistic sites did you have at one time? 10:07 Around 500 to 600, but we... 10:10 Probably closer to it. 10:11 We're not exactly sure how many sites they had. 10:13 We're still gathering the data on that. 10:14 Okay. That's still coming in. 10:16 But we had it from several different colleges 10:17 and we had over 1,000 video projectors 10:20 that went out, so over 1,000 meetings. 10:22 That's incredible. Amen. 10:24 Yeah. Amen. 10:25 Actually the goal for the whole division in Nepal 10:27 was to have 4,000 meetings. 10:28 I don't think they made it. 10:30 I'm not sure though 10:31 because it's going on all year long. 10:32 Okay. 10:34 So we will have several thousand. 10:35 We were also in Calcutta 10:37 and Duane mentioned Elder Wilson preached there. 10:40 And that's the city of 15 million people, Jill, 10:42 15 million, 200 Seventh-day Adventists. 10:45 Two hundred? 10:47 Yeah, 200 in a city of 15 million. 10:48 So General Conference said, 10:49 "We want to target this city to try to get the work." 10:53 And that's why Elder Wilson went there and preached. 10:54 Amen. What a blessing. 10:55 It made a tremendous impact. 10:57 You know, we're not talking huge baptismal numbers 11:00 but they're trying. 11:01 We did medical clinics there, ministering to the people, 11:04 but really, really trying to reach 11:06 a massive city that needs Christ. 11:08 Amen. That's right. 11:09 That's incredible. Yes. 11:11 Speaking of medical clinics, 11:12 I think we have a video, is that right? 11:13 We do. And you want to go to that? 11:15 Yes. 11:16 Let's take a look at a video of the medical work 11:17 that was done in conjunction with evangelistic series. 11:20 Amen. 11:23 The purpose of AWR360° Health 11:25 is to be able to provide 360 degrees 11:29 of health to every patient. 11:31 That means physically, mentally, emotionally, 11:34 and spiritually, the whole person. 11:36 Everywhere we've gone in the years 11:38 that we've been doing these mega clinics, 11:40 patients will come up and say, 11:42 "Who are you people? 11:43 And how do I join your church?" 11:45 Their lives are so impacted. 11:46 But it's not just the individual patient's lives. 11:49 The entire communities are affected. 11:51 Government officials, dignitaries, 11:54 all having a changed perspective 11:56 of God's Seventh-day Adventist Church. 11:59 But it's not just that, volunteers' lives themselves 12:03 have been completely transformed. 12:04 I can tell you numerous of volunteers who have come 12:08 somewhat disgruntled 12:09 with this or that situation 12:10 and they come through, they serve as a volunteer, 12:12 they get to be Jesus' hands and feet 12:14 and afterward they say, you know what? 12:16 "If this is what 12:18 the Seventh-day Adventist Church stands for, 12:20 I'm in and I'm 100%." 12:22 The impact is phenomenal. 12:25 AWR360° Health, Chennai has had a huge impact 12:29 not just on India, but I think globally. 12:32 What they've done here? 12:34 They've transformed a school into a beautiful mega clinic. 12:38 And it has served as a tremendous blessing 12:40 to the community at large. 12:42 What we learned is 12:43 this can be replicated globally. 12:46 You can take schools all over the world 12:48 and transform them into medical clinics, 12:50 you can take hospitals and communities 12:53 and transform them into centers of influence 12:56 to the community around them. 12:58 As far as the impact is concerned, 13:00 I think we're touching 13:01 on what Jesus originally had planned for our church. 13:04 And that is truly to provide 360 degrees 13:09 of health physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. 13:13 I would recommend everyone attend 13:16 a mission trip at AWR360° Health mission trip. 13:20 It is guaranteed to transform your life. 13:22 You will go back to your own hometowns, 13:24 your own home cities, 13:26 and you will say, you know what, 13:27 what I experienced in this or that location, 13:30 in this or that country, 13:31 I want for my own community, I want for my own town. 13:34 And we have seen that since 2014. 13:38 People who participate in these mega health clinics 13:41 go back to their own home city 13:43 and they are transforming the life. 13:46 My dream for AWR360° Health 13:48 is that it can be an example 13:51 of what God wants to do globally. 13:54 We can't do mega clinics all year round, 13:57 every week, every day. 13:58 But you know what? 14:00 Each and every one of our members, 14:01 Total Member Involvement can do this. 14:05 When we all work together, 14:07 I believe we will see Jesus come 14:09 because this is His method. 14:11 He has been waiting for us to take up the method 14:14 that He came to earth to show 14:16 as He healed the people, He met their physical needs, 14:19 He fed them, He provided to them 14:21 and then He said, "Follow Me." 14:23 When we do that, 14:25 I believe our goal as Christians 14:28 will be accomplished and we will be able 14:30 to see Jesus come in the clouds. 14:41 Amen. 14:42 We love Dr. Lela Gilbert Ng. 14:45 And just our privilege to partner with her. 14:47 She is the AWR Health director. 14:50 And what an incredible thing 14:51 to think about bringing all 14:53 that health evangelism there to India. 14:56 So, Pastor Kyle, 14:57 what is the mindset or the reason 15:01 for AWR Health 360? 15:03 Tell us about that? 15:04 Well, you know, 15:06 Ellen White told us that the medical missionary work 15:08 is the right arm of the gospel. 15:09 Amen. 15:11 It opens people's hearts to the truth. 15:12 We're told Christ method alone 15:14 is the way of reaching people, right? 15:15 We minister to their needs, but then we don't stop there, 15:17 then we bid them to follow Jesus. 15:18 So it's a whole 360 cycle. 15:21 And Elder McKee and I have been involved since 2014 15:23 with a little ministry called Your Best Pathway to Health. 15:26 We saw these mega clinics come to Los Angeles, 15:29 and San Francisco, and Fort Worth, and Phoenix 15:33 and the impact it had on cities here 15:35 in the North American Division. 15:37 And so we said, 15:38 "Well, what if we can take this overseas 15:40 and incorporate it with our TMI evangelistic work with AWR?" 15:43 Amen. 15:45 And so that's where the vision for AWR360 Health came. 15:48 What if we can do medical work 15:50 in advance of our evangelistic meetings, 15:52 showing people the practical love of Jesus 15:54 and then inviting them to follow Christ? 15:56 Amen. 15:57 And the whole time broadcasting. 15:58 Yes, broadcasting. 16:00 So it's that whole picture of evangelism. 16:02 And so Dr. Lela Ng is our AWR360 Health director. 16:07 We took it to India this summer. 16:08 We were in Philippines last summer. 16:10 This summer in Chennai and Calcutta, 7,500 patients 16:14 between all the sites of this summer 16:17 that we serviced. 16:18 The Lord did incredible things. 16:20 Did you do anything 16:21 with the eyes, anything like that? 16:23 Just a few things. Just a few. 16:24 Well, of course, we had, you know, we had the dental, 16:26 we had all the different specialties, 16:28 but in a special way we did work on people's eyes. 16:31 Now if you've ever had... 16:33 I've not had cataracts. 16:35 But if you've ever had a cataract, 16:36 you know that it's debilitating and you can't see. 16:39 Yeah. 16:40 And so, that's a terrible quality of life. 16:42 Well, there's a doctor. 16:43 Some of you may have heard of him 16:45 by the name of Dr. Jacob Prabhakar. 16:46 Yeah. 16:47 And this guy, literally, I mean, 16:49 God uses him to work miracles. 16:51 That's right. Wow. Wow. 16:52 I was in the operating room with him. 16:54 In two hours, Jill, 16:56 now you would think two hours 16:57 you might have a few patients, right? 16:59 Maybe he could do a few surgeries, 17:01 talk about 48 surgeries in 2 hours. 17:03 Forty-eight? Yeah. 17:05 Cataract surgeries. 17:06 Cataract surgeries. Yeah. 17:07 Basically, two to three minutes per patient, 17:10 restoring their sight and the here's the thing. 17:12 Their sight is restored physically 17:14 but more important, 17:15 those patients then want to learn about the one 17:18 who can restore their spiritual sight. 17:20 Oh! Amen. 17:21 So many of these patients have come to the meetings. 17:23 Yeah. 17:24 There was a Hindu man 17:25 who came to one meeting and was baptized. 17:27 As a result, his eyes were healed. 17:30 Now his spiritual heart is healed. 17:31 Amen. Amen. 17:32 Yes. You have a little clip on that? 17:34 Show me that. Yes. 17:35 Actually, so I was in the operating room 17:36 and I held my phone up and took a time lapse, 17:38 we'll roll that now, 17:40 so you can just get a sense of how fast Dr. Jacob works. 17:43 And it's incredible. 17:45 You can see him moving from one patient... 17:47 There he goes back to the other one. 17:49 You see them, they put the next one down. 17:50 They just... 17:51 They prepare it, he's going to move back, and... 17:54 They're treating patients in and out. 17:55 Yeah, think of this. Let's go ahead. 17:57 I was going to say, think of how many lives 17:58 are just literally changed in those two hours. 18:01 Amen. Amen. 18:02 Wow! It's awesome. 18:04 They once were blind, now they can see. 18:06 Amen. 18:07 And we had about 500 now 18:10 that have had their sight restored 18:12 as a result of these AWR360° clinics in India. 18:16 Hallelujah. 18:17 I was in one church in Chennai, and a lady was preaching. 18:20 She's from China actually. 18:21 She was preaching and they had seven people 18:23 from our medical clinics, 18:24 some of them had an eye surgery and they all were baptized. 18:26 Yes. Praise the Lord. 18:28 They came from the medical to the meetings, 18:30 learn about Jesus and were baptized. 18:31 They would have these dark glasses on 18:33 and so you would look out over all the people 18:35 are sitting in the meetings 18:36 and many people had dark glasses 18:38 and so you knew just which ones had come 18:40 from the eye surgery and were now listening 18:42 to the messages about Jesus. 18:43 Amen. Amen. 18:45 Amen. It works. 18:46 Following Jesus lead on how to combine the two. 18:48 Right. 18:50 And so we want to do this 18:51 actually next year in Papa New Guinea. 18:53 That's right. 18:54 And so we're inviting people to come, 18:56 be a part of this wonderful health outreach 18:58 in Papua New Guinea next March. 19:01 And also will just mention... 19:03 This is March of 2020. 19:05 I just want to clarify that. 2020, right, that's it. 19:06 The medical piece. Okay, the medical piece. 19:08 We're also very excited, Elder McKey, 19:09 because next April prior to the General Conference session. 19:12 What dates? 19:13 April 8, 9, and 10, 19:16 Indianapolis, Indiana at the Lucas Oil Stadium, Cami. 19:19 Awesome. 19:20 Your Best Pathway to Health, Indianapolis. 19:22 Yay! 19:23 We are hoping to treat 10,000 patients 19:25 in the name of Jesus. 19:26 Just like in San Antonio. That's right. 19:28 Yeah, same thing, now Indianapolis 19:30 and so AWR we're partnered with 19:32 in a North American Division with that too. 19:34 Exciting. Yeah. 19:35 Because it prepares people's hearts 19:37 for the message, you know, 19:39 when we are healed physically or were helped physically, 19:42 then our hearts are more open 19:45 and is accessible to the gospel. 19:46 That's right. 19:47 For 50 years, there's been a group 19:49 they called The New People's Army, 19:51 they have controlled much of the Philippines. 19:54 Actually, they're communists. 19:56 And we started going to Mindoro several years ago 19:58 and to get permission to have meetings there 20:01 we would have to give medicines to the rebels. 20:04 'Cause they basically, 20:05 they dominate the mountains there. 20:07 Okay. 20:08 You know, you bet it, 20:10 you're either their enemy or their friend. 20:11 So we had no, 20:12 actually no work there two years ago, 20:14 almost none with the rebels. 20:15 Very little. 20:16 But now Cami, how many, I forgot, 20:18 how many is it? 20:19 Well, this is when we first started. 20:21 So it's two and a half years ago, 20:22 I remember, I was filming in Nepal. 20:23 Right. 20:25 And you guys called me and said there's two villages. 20:26 The whole villages are coming to the Lord 20:28 want to be bap... 20:29 Two whole... I said, "What, two?" 20:31 Next phone call, the next day. 20:33 Cami, there's now five village. 20:35 So I'll skip all of these little segments. 20:37 We are now at 103 villages, 20:41 mountain remote villages 20:43 that are dominated by the rebel terrorists 20:46 that they're giving their guns up 20:48 and taking Bibles studies. 20:49 They have AK-47s. They're assassins. 20:52 That's right. 20:53 And their hearts... 20:55 And this is, or their hearts were open, 20:56 our medical mysteries were going up, what? 20:58 Walking 12 hours through the jungle. 21:00 Minimal. Yes, yes. 21:01 Some we would take overnight 21:03 depending on the mud levels and different things 21:04 that they had to cross. 21:06 Yeah, ministering to their needs. 21:07 We have a lot to say about that. 21:08 I wish we had a video. Do we have a video? 21:10 I wish we did we have a video. 21:11 Cami, do we have a video? 21:12 Of course we have a video. 21:14 Yay! 21:15 Let's take a look at that video now. 21:20 Find out how AWR Radio 21:22 has gone past the steel cold guns 21:25 straight into the hearts of ruthless rebels. 21:29 This is AWR360°. 21:46 Adventist World Radio has been broadcasting 21:49 God's last day message 21:50 to the unreached people groups of the world 21:53 in their own languages from its very beginning. 21:56 AWR began 48 years ago in 1971 22:00 and our mission and vision 22:02 have grown beyond all expectations. 22:05 I believe, Jesus is coming very, very soon. 22:08 And all God's people must take part 22:10 in spreading the gospel all around the world. 22:13 All around this old bubble of mud. 22:14 Our expanded focus of AWR360° broadcast of baptism 22:18 reaches people not only through the radio, 22:21 but also through most media platforms, 22:23 cell phone evangelism, and mobile medical clinics. 22:27 Now incredible results are happening 22:29 all over the world 22:30 because of this enhanced direction, 22:31 which by the way, was the dream of Allen Steele, 22:34 the founder of Adventist World Radio. 22:37 One of those meetings took place one year ago 22:40 on the island of Mindoro in the Philippines. 22:43 Along with the broadcast, many meetings took place 22:46 and more than 2,000 were baptized. 22:50 Then soon after over 77 new villages 22:53 turned their lives over to the Lord 22:55 as the layman radio hosts kept preaching. 22:58 But then some of the new listeners 23:00 made a surprise visit 23:02 to one of our AWR radio broadcasters, 23:05 Robert Dulay. 23:07 As he was biking home one day, 23:09 he saw four strangers at his front door. 23:13 They told him they were rebels. 23:17 On March 29, 1969 23:19 the New People's Army was formed. 23:22 Armed with weapons, 23:23 they gradually infiltrated the country. 23:26 Their goals have been to overthrow the government 23:29 and establish a Maoist style communist regime. 23:34 They regularly ambushed police and military forces. 23:39 Are these men and women to be feared for the brutality 23:42 to be rejected and abandoned? 23:44 Or is God calling His faithful to go out into the highways 23:48 and byways to preach there too. 23:50 They pleaded with us 23:52 to send someone to the village to preach. 23:54 As they had been listening to the radio 23:56 and wanted to know more about Jesus. 23:59 It is now four months later, 24:01 AWR360° is heading to the forbidden mountain area 24:05 in the midst of where these rebels live. 24:09 Where Jesus went, 24:11 He often heals those around Him. 24:13 In like manner, 24:14 we are bringing in a team of medical laymen 24:16 who are committed to following God's healing message 24:19 across the Philippines. 24:21 Helping take the medical supplies 24:23 to the staging point is the Philippine military, 24:25 the Fourth Division Scorpion unit. 24:29 Seeing the good work that AWR has done 24:31 in reaching the rebel soldiers, 24:32 they put forth their full support 24:34 of what we are doing. 24:36 They load the supplies and before we head out, 24:38 we have a prayer, AWR, 24:42 the medical laymen and the military, 24:45 all praying hand in hand to our God 24:47 for His blessing in what we're about to do. 24:50 Finally, after a long and difficult drive, 24:53 we reached the staging point. 24:56 As we wait, we noticed many porters 24:58 coming down the trail. 24:59 They will help carry the supplies 25:01 the rest of the way up the mountain. 25:03 This will be a long trip with a very heavy load. 25:08 Some of the porters are members of the rebel group. 25:11 Once again we have a prayer 25:14 and then the supplies are loaded 25:15 for the journey ahead. 25:17 We say goodbye to the laymen and the villagers 25:20 as they make their way up the trail. 25:22 It will be a tiresome trek 25:24 through the jungles, rivers, and mud. 25:28 It will take at least eight hours 25:29 for some to reach the village. 25:31 For others it will be an overnight walk. 25:36 The next morning we board a small mission helicopter 25:40 and it takes us to the top of the mountain. 25:42 I smile as I relive God's miracles 25:45 in how He reached 25:46 the rebellious militant minded soldiers 25:49 that we were about to meet face-to-face. 25:53 As the helicopter comes to a halt, 25:55 I look at the crowd gathered before us. 25:57 They are lit with smiles. 26:00 We are welcomed 26:01 and the natives eagerly give us a tour. 26:03 It's amazing to see how these precious people live. 26:08 Then I sit down with a friend, 26:09 the first one who started listening to AWR. 26:14 My life was always on edge. 26:17 I did many things I would rather not talk about, 26:20 but one day 26:22 as I was listening to the radio, 26:24 something different came on. 26:27 It was AWR's Health Program. 26:30 As I listened, I discovered 26:32 that these people were helping many 26:34 with their health problems. 26:35 They also talked about the supreme healer, 26:38 one whose life was devoted to others 26:40 rather than himself. 26:42 This thought appealed to him 26:44 and he felt the need to share it with others. 26:47 Then he began to wonder, who are these people 26:50 who are sharing this loving message? 26:53 He knew he had to find out for himself. 26:56 I had to know more. 26:58 So I sought out the speaker of this program. 27:02 I sent fellow members of my unit to invite him 27:05 to the mountaintop. 27:07 The road they took down many times 27:09 had been used to hurt or injured, 27:11 but this time it was different. 27:14 My friends asked him, 27:16 "Please, come preach to us in the mountains." 27:30 As they met, a friend shared 27:33 how he has a desire to learn more about Jesus 27:37 and AWR360° was happy to oblige. 27:42 Many laymen pastors 27:43 also climbed the mountain to preach. 27:46 And soon many new rebels heard about God 27:50 through the radio and Bible studies. 27:53 And they too have a need to share it with others. 27:58 And then the day came 27:59 when Ephraim himself walked down the mountain 28:02 with one final request. 28:06 I want to be baptized and so do many others. 28:12 And so on top of this once dangerous mountain, 28:15 laymen doctors healed those who were sick 28:18 and the mouths were cleaned by the volunteer dentists. 28:23 Our AWR360° team spoke with many villagers 28:27 and prayed with many more. 28:30 Additional rebels arrived because they were interested 28:33 in witnessing what was going on. 28:36 Our team preached to them 28:38 and then it was time to baptize 28:40 those who had made their decision for Christ. 28:43 It was a joyous walk to the baptismal site. 28:47 And I believe all of heaven was rejoicing with us 28:50 as we watch Pastor McKey baptized five rebel generals 28:55 along with 60 other soldiers. 28:59 These men who were once killers in the land 29:02 have now die to self. 29:04 They have laid down their earthly weapons 29:07 and exchange them for a heavenly reward. 29:11 What I witness today was truly a miracle. 29:16 In one of the most dangerous places on earth, 29:18 Adventist World Radio boldly went forth, 29:21 so yearning ears could hear 29:23 the mercy and forgiveness of Jesus. 29:27 Lives were changed for eternity. 29:29 And now many more have a new hope of heaven forever 29:34 and this is only the beginning. 29:37 Friends, the far reaching work of AWR is only possible 29:42 with your fervent prayers and generous financial support. 29:46 Every donation is so important. 29:49 Visit our website now to donate online, 29:51 keep in touch with AWR. 29:53 We want and need you with us. 29:56 Remember, it is only working together 29:58 that we will reach the whole world 30:01 with the good news of our Lord and Savior. 30:03 He is coming back so soon. 30:06 This is AWR360°. 30:30 It's an amazing testimony 30:31 to see people's lives change for eternity 30:34 by the power of the gospel, 30:36 by what God is doing through AWR. 30:39 I'm just reminded 30:40 of how God can take a stony heart, 30:42 and He can turn it into a heart of flesh. 30:45 Like with those generals who were baptized 30:48 and the soldiers who were baptized 30:49 and what happens to them after they're baptized though 30:52 'cause they're still in occupied territory, right? 30:54 By the other rebels, so what happens? 30:56 Well, we had to relocate some of them 30:58 and some of them we help, 30:59 we retrain them and get them into businesses 31:01 doing other kinds of jobs 31:03 and we help them... 31:05 Well, Robert Dulay does a great job with the military. 31:08 And so they're taking off the most wanted list. 31:13 We have a husband and wife. Yeah. 31:15 We just heard so don't have all the details, 31:17 we'll bring them next time. 31:18 But this married couple 31:19 they're in together in the NPA together 31:22 and they both are on the most wanted list 31:24 for the government of the Philippines. 31:26 And they have been listening to AWR 31:29 and are wanting to give over their machine guns, 31:32 everything up and turn themselves in 31:35 and become Seventh-day Adventists, 31:36 be baptized members. 31:38 Amen? Amen. 31:39 That's amazing. 31:40 I know it's just one of many stories and you know, frankly, 31:42 our stats, they keep changing. 31:43 There's an update, you know, it's 103 villages now. 31:45 Wow! 31:47 And how many generals have we baptized? 31:48 We're not sure, 11 or 13. 31:50 Yeah. That's right in there. 31:52 It's around a dozen generals. 31:54 They themselves have their own armies, 31:56 you know, then we learn about... 31:58 And two years ago nothing. 31:59 That story about the woman with her children. 32:01 Yes. I love that story. 32:03 Tell us, Duane. 32:04 It's fantastic. 32:05 This lady, she's a rebel and her husband is a rebel. 32:08 And they're with their kids in their house. 32:10 It's early morning, they're eating breakfast 32:12 and all of a sudden 32:14 they hear these gunshots going into there 32:16 and so he grabs his AK-47, runs out the front door. 32:21 She grabs the kids, runs out the back door, 32:23 runs to the jungle and hides out. 32:26 She never sees her husband again. 32:28 Oh, wow! 32:29 She is just so angry at the military. 32:32 She teaches her boys how to become rebels, 32:36 how to take the guns 32:37 and sneak around and shoot people. 32:39 And they're just kids, young, yeah. 32:41 It's horrible. 32:42 And she's so angry at the military 32:45 and she's a rebel. 32:47 She's an assassin. 32:48 This goes on for months and months 32:50 and my sister says two years ago. 32:53 And recently a few months ago, she starts listening to AWR, 32:58 Adventist World Radio. 32:59 She gets the kids together and they start listening. 33:02 They hear about Jesus and about forgiveness. 33:04 Their hearts are touched 33:06 and they contact the Pastor Robert Dulay 33:09 and they said, "We can't kill anymore, 33:12 we want to be baptized." 33:14 Beautiful. 33:15 So after they were baptized, 33:16 Robert tells me they're in church 33:18 a few weeks ago. 33:20 He's there and she starts to cry. 33:23 And she says, 33:24 "You know, why didn't you start broadcasting sooner?" 33:29 If we had heard the broadcast sooner, 33:32 then maybe my husband will be here in church with me. 33:34 Wow. 33:37 That's the power of the gospel. 33:39 Amen. That's right. 33:40 What does that though do for you working at AWR 33:44 to realize people's lives are being changed for eternity? 33:48 How does that impact or change your lives? 33:50 It is such a solemn responsibility, 33:52 but at the same time it's the highest adrenaline rush 33:55 that you can have 33:56 because we know that we're being used 33:58 like vessels for the Lord 34:01 'cause He's preparing the world 'cause He's coming soon. 34:03 And we see it happening all over the globe. 34:06 And it just, it does, it changes your day. 34:08 You have such purpose every morning. 34:10 Yeah. 34:11 And to think, Jill, you know, just like what you said Duane, 34:13 she said, I wish you would come sooner. 34:15 Yes. 34:16 I can think of this countless millions of people 34:19 who are out in these cities of the world, 34:20 these dark corners of the world 34:22 that if only they knew the truth 34:24 of the Three Angel's Messages. 34:26 And by the way, AWR, 34:27 we're trying to get one of our goals, 34:29 the hundred largest metro areas in the world 34:32 broadcasting the Adventist message, Duane McKey. 34:35 That's our goal, right? 34:37 That's our goal. That's our goal. 34:38 Yeah. It makes me just... 34:39 Someone said, "Well, what about North America?" 34:41 Right. Yeah. 34:42 Well, hundred largest metro areas in the world. 34:43 Two of them are in Texas, Dallas-Fort Worth and Houston. 34:47 So next year, we're gonna broadcast 34:50 in those big metro areas in Texas 34:53 and then come back in a year later 34:55 and have evangelistic meetings. 34:56 Yes. 34:58 Several hundred of them all across 34:59 those two metro areas. 35:01 'Cause these are reaping meeting. 35:02 I'm sorry Cami, reaping meetings 35:04 following up with people listening to AWR. 35:06 I'm sorry, go ahead. 35:08 I was just gonna say it to answer your question 35:09 then we go from tears of, 35:11 you know, such tugging heart, 35:13 tugging stories to excitement 35:15 about how we're gonna reach more people. 35:17 So it's that, that's our constant every day. 35:19 Yeah, weekly, sometimes daily, 35:22 we get these messages on our cell phones, 35:24 you know, or WhatsApp or texting 35:26 from around the world. 35:27 Like I just got a text. 35:30 No, a WhatsApp, Nazareth. 35:34 Nazareth on Sunday. 35:37 We're in a large Arab speaking Protestant church, 35:42 teaching them to do cell phone evangelism 35:45 with our sermons on WhatsApp. 35:47 Yeah. 35:48 So this whole congregation is learning how to use WhatsApp 35:51 which they use over there to share our sermons 35:54 with their friends across, 35:55 all across that part of the world who speak Arabic. 35:59 Amen. 36:00 It's incredible. 36:02 And we are having baptisms 36:03 in all different parts of the world 36:05 from the cell phone evangelism itself. 36:07 So it's working. 36:09 It's a wonderful way. 36:10 Yeah. Yeah. 36:11 It's amazing that you can literally 36:13 reach the world through your cell phone. 36:14 That's right. 36:16 And everyone can be an evangelist this way. 36:18 You don't necessarily have to get up in public speak 36:21 in front of thousands of people, 36:22 although I highly recommend it. 36:24 But, you know, you can do it from your couch. 36:26 Right. 36:27 And you can be a soul winner. 36:29 Everyone can play a part in winning souls. 36:31 You know, the opportunities that we have 36:33 in this day in earth's history to reach the world. 36:36 Each one of us through our cell phones 36:37 is just incredible. 36:39 Amen. It's amazing. 36:40 And I don't know if I should share this, but... 36:42 Oh, you should. 36:44 Oh, okay, I will. We want to know. 36:45 This is the latest thing. 36:47 Our genius engineer Michael Dant 36:49 has created what is called a Bot. 36:52 And this Bot... What is Bot? 36:53 Well, I don't know all the details, 36:54 but what I can share is that this Bot 36:57 will automate cell phone evangelism, 36:59 so that anyone can do it, anyone. 37:02 And then it will automatically send people to our CDE. 37:06 What's that, Kyle? 37:08 Center for Digital Evangelism. 37:09 Yes. 37:11 So imagine, I think we mentioned this earlier, 37:13 Jill, that we're gonna talk about this. 37:16 You know, a call center. 37:17 Think about a call center, 37:18 you have an issue for the company, 37:20 you need help, you call a call center. 37:21 Oh, yeah. 37:23 Well, we want to have digital call centers 37:24 of our young people 37:25 that are serving as digital missionaries. 37:27 Amen. 37:28 The first one is already established in Manila. 37:29 Awesome. 37:31 And these young adults 37:32 will not only be answering the phones, 37:34 they're gonna be using Whatsapp, 37:35 Facebook Messenger, 37:36 social media, various channels to reach out to people 37:39 to help enroll them in Bible studies... 37:40 Amen. 37:42 Leading them from listening to the broadcasts 37:44 to making a decision for baptism 37:45 and following Christ. 37:47 Oh, that's so exciting. 37:48 And our vision is to establish these centers 37:50 around the world. 37:51 Yes. 37:53 So that we're leading people from broadcast to baptism 37:54 and into the Seventh-day Adventist Church. 37:56 Amen. 37:57 One of the exciting things about the Bot is 37:58 that I just picked up an email from Michael. 38:01 It said that when a person calls in on the number 38:04 and then they speak English or Spanish or Portuguese, 38:10 the computer recognizes that language 38:12 and responds back in the same language. 38:14 When they text that, it will respond back. 38:16 Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, yeah. 38:17 It's brilliant. Our call center. 38:19 It's amazing. 38:20 Yeah. Isn't that awesome? 38:21 Amazing. Yes. 38:23 And we'll be having footage actually 38:24 of our new CDE in Manila here soon 38:26 because we're all heading there. 38:27 That's right. Yes. 38:28 We're going there just... 38:30 In like a few weeks it seems. 38:31 Yeah. In September, that's right. 38:33 Right. 38:34 And we're gonna be doing some updates 38:35 on several stories. 38:37 Oh, one of please, please. 38:38 Which one? 38:39 This is an audience of prayer warriors. 38:41 So we would like to request the prayer warriors out there 38:44 to keep this in mind in your prayers 38:46 that we have a project. 38:47 It's called the Danawan Water Project 38:49 that has been funded by our wonderful donors. 38:53 And it's on an isolated island, 38:56 where these people listened to the radio 38:58 became Seventh-day Adventists, 38:59 built a little Seventh-day Adventist Church 39:01 on their shoreline. 39:02 But you see they have no fresh water at all. 39:05 And so they have to like get in boats. 39:07 The women have to get in the boats, carry, 39:09 go to another island, get fresh water, bring it back. 39:11 It's really quite terrible when there are storms. 39:14 Anyhow, then they can't have any water. 39:16 But there's a spring there 39:18 and it's three kilometers into the jungle. 39:20 But what we found we have all everything ready to go, 39:23 the pipeline all of it, but there's a witch there. 39:27 There's a spiritual battle going on, 39:29 that witch does not want the water 39:32 heading to the shoreline 39:33 to the Seventh-day Adventist Church there 39:34 with Adventist World Radio playing all day long. 39:37 Right. Anyhow... 39:38 Because she worships. Because... 39:40 Yes, the spring is a God to her. 39:41 Yeah. 39:43 So she's... Yeah. 39:44 So we have sent up a liaison there 39:47 to discuss things with her 39:48 and at that night in the hut when he was about to, 39:51 that morning come and speak with her. 39:54 Very strange ferocious cat 39:56 appeared in his tent beside him, 39:58 looking him at straight in the face. 40:00 Anyways, we are living 40:01 in the great controversy, aren't we? 40:03 So we need some prayers 40:04 because that village on the island there 40:07 needs the freshwater 40:09 because all the surrounding islands 40:10 will come to the Seventh-day Adventist Church 40:13 for fresh water. 40:14 And what other kind of water, Kyle? 40:16 The spiritual water. Amen. 40:17 That's right. Amen. 40:19 Yes. Amen. 40:20 So, it's exciting stuff. 40:21 So we need people, this is ongoing. 40:23 This is right now. 40:24 You need to pray at home right now 40:25 for this situation. 40:27 Yes. That's right. 40:28 Absolutely, now I want to hear about some cow thieves 40:30 and we move to Madagascar. 40:31 Oh, my! 40:33 Cow thieves. Yes. 40:34 In Madagascar, 40:35 there are these cow thieves called Dahalo, 40:38 and these cow thieves actually dominate 40:40 what they call the red zones of Madagascar, which is... 40:43 I want to say about a third of that whole country. 40:45 You know, it's an island, but it's a huge country really. 40:48 Anyway, these cow thieves dominate 40:49 and they will go into villages 40:51 and they will do anything to capture the cows, 40:53 including murder to steal these cows. 40:57 But we have a... 40:58 We'll show you actually how we can... 41:00 How God can reach even a cow thief, a murderer? 41:05 Let's take a look at that video right now. 41:11 Isolated in the Indian Ocean, 41:13 80% of all the animal and plant species 41:16 on this island 41:17 are found nowhere else in the world. 41:19 From its towering baobab trees in the desert 41:22 to the dense rainforest jungles, 41:24 this is a land of wonder. 41:29 Come with me as I discover how AWR is reaching 41:32 into the most dangerous part of this country. 41:34 I'm in Madagascar and this is AWR360°. 41:53 There are three things they hate. 41:57 Cars, military, and well-dressed people. 42:02 They kill when they see these things. 42:12 They are taught from a young age 42:15 how to steal cows. 42:17 When they get older, 42:19 all they do is drink alcohol, and steal and kill. 42:25 They are called Dahalo, 42:28 which means bandits in the Malagasy language. 42:41 Who are these Dahalo 42:42 and what the cow thieves have to do with AWR? 42:46 I'm on a journey to find out. 42:49 I am here in Madagascar with Ray Allen, 42:52 one of our vice presidents. 42:54 As we travel, I have learned 42:56 that early one-third of this country 42:58 is locally referred to as red zones. 43:01 This amounts to an area the size of South Dakota, 43:05 where the government exerts little or no control 43:08 and where banditry thrives. 43:11 Stricken by poverty, 43:12 the majority of the population in Madagascar lives 43:15 on less than $1 a day. 43:19 Deprivation drives theft and the stealing of cows 43:22 and illegal exploitation of natural resources 43:25 is the pulse of the culture in these areas. 43:28 This makes them extremely dangerous and difficult 43:31 for the outside world to reach. 43:37 A Seventh-day Adventist couple named Andrea and Rashu 43:40 are bravely working to share the gospel 43:42 in these remote and dangerous areas. 43:45 Both are nurses 43:46 and through their medical treatment of all people 43:49 including the Dahalo, 43:51 they have influenced in a region 43:53 that many others do not. 43:59 One Sabbath we traveled to a distant village 44:02 and we're surprised to find a group of people 44:05 worshiping together and praising God. 44:12 We have never seen this before and started to ask questions. 44:18 Andrea and Rashu have found out 44:20 that many years ago 44:21 the group leader discovered an AWR broadcast. 44:33 Fascinated by what he heard, he continued listening 44:36 and soon organized a little group 44:38 that began meeting every Sabbath. 44:41 That group has grown 44:42 and though they have never seen another Adventist, 44:45 met a pastor or been to a church before, 44:48 they sing together and teach the truth 44:51 they have heard from the radio. 44:55 And what's more, 44:56 the leader is a converted Dahalo cow thief. 45:02 We could hardly believe 45:04 what we were seeing and hearing. 45:06 Truly, miracles are happening through the radio. 45:18 Isn't God amazing? 45:20 I love what a district pastor here told us. 45:23 He said that he views the radio as the pioneer of pioneers 45:27 in these distant and difficult to reach areas. 45:31 So what do Dahalo and cow thieves 45:33 have to do with AWR? 45:35 They are people whose lives are being touched 45:38 and transformed by Jesus 45:40 and the truth heard on the radio. 45:49 We know there are other stories that have not yet been heard. 45:52 Other Sabbath keeping groups meeting 45:54 unknown to the outside world, 45:56 other cow thieves yearning for truth. 45:59 Thank you for supporting Adventist World Radio 46:02 and helping the good news of salvation 46:04 penetrate into the dark corners of the globe. 46:10 I can't wait for heaven 46:12 to hear more stories like these. 46:14 Together we are making waves, from broadcast to baptism. 46:18 Until next time, this is AWR360°. 46:36 I love that slogan, "From broadcast to baptism." 46:38 Amen. Amen. 46:41 I mean, it's amazing to think God takes a cow thief 46:43 and God changes his heart. 46:45 But what touched me the most in that story 46:47 was the medical evangelists coming in 46:50 and finding people 46:51 who were worshiping on the Sabbath, 46:53 following what they were hearing on AWR 46:56 with no outside influence or evangelist except for AWR. 46:59 That's right. 47:01 There, again, you see 47:02 God using people with the medical gifts 47:04 to be able to reach people, 47:05 also the people that can speak and be evangelists. 47:08 The fact is, God uses all of us to reach people. 47:11 Even maybe when we don't realize it. 47:13 Right. 47:14 What we have to keep in mind is that we are almost... 47:15 We're walking billboards for the Lord. 47:17 That's right. 47:19 In our daily lives, how we handle ourselves, 47:20 even in what we think might be silence or quietness. 47:24 And this is illustrated very well in another video 47:27 that we have of really the impact you can have 47:30 just by your daily choices 47:32 that you make for your personal life. 47:33 You mean, is this that video where a bar becomes a church? 47:38 Are you spilling some grain? 47:39 I don't, I'm sorry. 47:42 He gets excited, but you know what, so do we. 47:44 I love it. I'm very excited. 47:46 We have one more video, and let's take a look at that. 47:54 Rising above the Serengeti landscape 47:56 is the tallest mountain in Africa, 47:58 the majestic Mount Kilimanjaro, 48:01 surrounded by grazing gazelle, 48:03 sleepy lions, and the elusive leopards, 48:06 this land holds wonder and enchantment 48:08 to excited tourist and the humble people 48:11 who call it home. 48:13 I am in Tanzania and this is AWR360°. 48:32 Adventist World Radio 48:34 was brought to Tanzania in 1993, 48:37 making it the first non-government radio broadcast 48:40 of its time. 48:42 Now over 25 years later, a team of dedicated locals 48:47 operate 10 stations across the country, 48:50 broadcasting in Swahili and Maasai, 48:53 thousands of people can daily listen to programs 48:57 in their own language. 49:00 After seeing thousands of baptisms 49:02 as a direct result of the radio work, 49:05 many Seventh-day Adventist churches 49:07 have become excited and desirous 49:09 of participating in some way as well. 49:15 One church decided to sponsor 49:17 a 21-day sermon series called Rays of Hope. 49:21 The pastor encouraged the members 49:22 to use this radio program as a witnessing tool 49:26 and to share the messages with their friends and family. 49:30 Mama Miambe took this to heart 49:33 and began carrying her little radio with her 49:35 wherever she went. 49:39 Mama Miambe had a garden, 49:41 and her garden was located close by the town's bar. 49:46 Daily as she tended to her plants and vegetables, 49:49 she set down her radio and turned up the volume. 49:55 Inside the nearby bar, 49:57 the owner named Eliah 49:59 began to listen and take interest. 50:04 I was so intrigued with what I heard 50:06 coming from the radio in the garden. 50:09 I decided to find the channel on my radio 50:12 so I could hear it better. 50:18 So while Eliah was serving his customers, 50:21 he was also listening intently to sermons 50:24 from the Rays of Hope program. 50:29 Soon he was not the only one listening. 50:31 The drunkards who daily came by 50:33 started to listen and ask questions. 50:38 Finally, Eliah suggested they meet together 50:42 and listen to the radio instead of drinking 50:45 and they all agreed. 50:49 The owner and his customers 50:50 began meeting with their Bibles and radio. 50:55 And as the AWR program presented Bible based messages, 50:59 the men discovered precious truths 51:01 they had never heard before. 51:05 At the end of the 21-day series 51:07 I decided to give my life to Jesus 51:09 and was baptized along with 20 of my customers. 51:13 It was a joyous day. 51:17 After their baptism, this new little congregation 51:20 decided to change their bar 51:22 into a place of worship instead. 51:27 They meet together every Sabbath 51:29 to sing praises and study the Bible. 51:33 Mama Miambe often joins them with a heart full of joy 51:37 for what God was able to do through her. 51:41 I am so thankful for AWR 51:44 and for the messages of hope that saved us. 51:53 Is this not an amazing testimony 51:55 to the power of the gospel? 51:57 A place of frivolity and drunkenness 51:59 is now a place of praise and worship to our Creator. 52:03 And all because one woman 52:05 was willing to carry her radio with her 52:08 and let it be heard from her garden. 52:10 Will you join us in spreading the good news of Jesus 52:13 to a hurting and dying world? 52:15 Through your prayers and generous support 52:17 of Adventist World Radio, 52:19 light is breaking the darkness 52:21 and truth is triumphing over falsehood. 52:24 From broadcast to baptism this is AWR360°. 52:48 God changes lives 52:49 through the power of His Holy Spirit, 52:51 but He does it through people like you, 52:52 with people like that precious women 52:54 who went out to work her garden. 52:55 Yeah. Praise the Lord. 52:57 What an amazing testimony! 52:58 And I know we're coming down to the end of the program. 53:00 We need several hours here. Yes. 53:02 But you all are or AWR is going to Papa New Guinea, 53:06 so talk to us just a little bit about your needs there 53:09 'cause we're gonna put up your contact info... 53:10 Papa New Guinea gonna be, I think the most exciting event 53:13 in the history of the Adventist Church. 53:15 Amen. Amen. Amen. 53:17 I know they are praying for, I won't say the number, 53:19 but more than 200,000 baptisms. 53:21 More than 200,000? 53:23 Rwanda was our biggest event 53:24 in the history of the Adventist Church. 53:26 Probably the history of the Protestant church 53:28 and the world Catholic Church, Christians. 53:30 And there's 100,000? 53:31 Hundred thousand Baptists. 53:33 Now we're looking at PNG, and they're praying for 200... 53:35 When they first told me that 53:36 I said, "It can't be, it ain't gonna happen." 53:39 And then they came and said, 53:40 you know, what they said, that's next year. 53:42 We already had 10,000 people in the baptismal class. 53:46 Isn't that incredible? That's amazing. 53:47 Ten thousand already taken baptism. 53:48 And they're telling them 53:50 you have to win 5, 6, 7 people yourself 53:52 before you can be baptized 53:54 and get them into studies. 53:56 And so they're working themselves 53:57 and all the church members are targeting 8, 10, 12 people 54:01 and they have actually over 300,000 people now. 54:06 Names of people 54:08 that they are praying for and working for. 54:10 Wow! 54:11 We need people to come preach. 54:12 Yeah. We do. 54:14 We want to invite you to come and be a part of this effort. 54:15 Right. 54:17 Because it's Total Member Involvement. 54:18 That's right. 54:19 God has moved on your heart 54:21 as you've been listening to this program. 54:22 We want to invite you to go to AWR network, 54:23 watching for information about how you can come and preach, 54:25 how you can come and use your gifts 54:27 in medical evangelism. 54:29 Whatever it is, God has a place for you 54:31 next year 2020 in Papua New Guinea. 54:33 So it's in March we do medical meetings 54:35 and then May, the first two weeks of May 54:37 will be evangelism. 54:38 What we're going to do right now 54:39 is put up your contact information, 54:41 so that you can financially support AWR360°. 54:45 You can get involved with your prayers, 54:47 you can travel there, 54:49 and either speak or preach 54:51 or be involved in the medical evangelism. 54:52 Amen. Amen. 54:57 To find out more about Adventist World Radio 54:59 and their various projects 55:01 or if you would like to support them 55:02 and get involved 55:04 in spreading the gospel through radio, 55:05 please visit their website awr.org, 55:09 that's awr.org. 55:12 You may also reach them by email at cami@awr.org 55:17 or call them at area code (301) 680-6304. 55:22 If you would prefer, you may write to them 55:24 at AWR, 12501 Old Columbia Pike, 55:28 Silver Spring, Maryland 20904. |
