Thank you. 16:37 I'm really excited about this song book, 16:40 and the hymns book, Yvonne. 16:42 And what I'm thinking, maybe we could put an address, 16:44 put Dino's address up on the screen 16:47 for those of you who want to go to the website 16:49 and look at this. 16:50 I think it's something that everybody would want. 16:52 In fact, it may be time 16:53 that you would already have time to get it, 16:55 maybe give it to somebody... 16:56 Before Christmas. For Christmas. 16:57 And that's a great thing to give, right? 16:59 Give something away that's literally uplifting 17:02 the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. 17:03 And, you know, it looks Christmasy. 17:05 Put a nice gold bow around it, 17:07 give it to your grandma or your children. 17:09 Absolutely. We love it. 17:11 Thank you for mentioning that. 17:12 Giving to the children is a wonderful thing 17:14 because they don't know about these hymns. 17:17 And there is the devotional in there, 17:20 but also the history, and there are CDs. 17:23 There are CDs. 17:24 So you get CDs of you playing all of these songs? 17:26 Every one of the hymns, 101. 17:28 I mean, this is a great, great gift. 17:29 So CDs of all the songs, you got the devotionals 17:34 and about how the songs were written. 17:36 That's wonderful. 17:37 And thank you, by the way for giving us. 17:39 You're welcome, my pleasure. 17:41 Yvonne and I could share, but we kind of got selfish 17:42 and said we'd each like one just to have get you guys 17:45 to sign it of course, for sure. 17:48 You know, we pray for our troops, 17:49 you know, that are overseas and that God protects them, 17:53 you know, who are in some really dangerous stuff 17:55 going on right now. 17:56 And wouldn't be nice to have your son come happy 18:01 for Christmas. 18:02 Oh, yeah. 18:03 Play it. It's wonderful. 18:07 I dedicate this to all the servicemen 18:09 and women. 18:18 I just wanted to play that little bit 18:19 for those of us... 18:21 That's beautiful. What a beautiful melody anyway. 18:22 Isn't it a beautiful melody? Yes. 18:24 The words. 18:25 And I heard about World War II how they, soldiers, you know, 18:27 this song was really big because... 18:29 That's right, exactly. 18:30 They were hoping that the family would be home, 18:32 you know, for the Christmas season for sure. 18:34 I remember when I was in the service, 18:36 I was looking forward to coming home for Christmas. 18:38 And so it's really an important time 18:41 to be with family. 18:42 Of course, we have to have our servicemen there too, 18:45 you know, to protect us. 18:47 But anyway, we love our military folk. 18:49 Yes. Absolutely. 18:50 Well, we have to play a tribute to them, 18:52 you know, that we appreciate you so much. 18:53 What we'd like to do is take just a couple minutes 18:54 because for some of the folk 18:56 and I know most of our audience I'm sure knows Dino, 18:59 they know Cheryl. 19:00 But tell us just a little bit about your music career 19:04 how it started, 19:05 and we can do it in just a couple minutes. 19:07 Give us the short version 19:08 'cause we want to hear you play a lot more. 19:10 But tell us, you know, how did you... 19:11 Why the gospel music? 19:13 You could play anything you wanted to play, 19:14 and you could be a so called Star 19:16 if you wanted to be, which you choose to to say... 19:19 Right, serve God, yeah. 19:20 Play for the Lord. Why? Why? 19:22 Well, it all started with a little toy 19:23 from the Salvation Army, 19:24 Okay, for Christmas. 19:27 You know, our family was poor. 19:29 They just came from Greece, 19:30 but we didn't know we were poor. 19:32 Okay. 19:33 You know, my parents, 19:35 you know, we didn't know that. 19:36 But not much money, but we felt like we were fine. 19:40 But when I played for the... 19:41 I was about five years old 19:42 when I played Salvation Army as a little kid, 19:45 and they paid me, 19:47 like 25 cents or something 19:49 because that was a big deal for a little kid, right, 19:52 back then. 19:54 But that toy was a gift that I'll never forget about, 19:57 and the Salvation Army people, 19:59 I'll always appreciate them for that. 20:02 I love because I started playing when I was three, 20:04 so back up a little bit. 20:05 And then of course, five, I started taking piano lessons. 20:10 You know, every young pianists play that. 20:12 And of course, I was not reading the notes 20:15 because I played everything by ear. 20:17 So the piano teacher put the book out there, 20:18 and I'd stare at one space as I was reading it, you know. 20:21 Okay. 20:22 Excuse me, 20:23 then I fooled her for a couple of years, 20:25 I mean, it took a two years to realize 20:27 that I was faking it, right? 20:30 Slow learner would you say though. 20:32 So once she did, we... 20:34 The family got together with me and said, 20:36 you know, Dino, God has given this gift, 20:37 you know, I started sharpening that ability. 20:39 And I always encourage young people 20:42 to find out what that gift is, 20:44 you know, define what that gift is 20:45 and then sharpen it, 20:47 you know, study it. 20:48 And of course, we are Christian. 20:50 I was a Christian. 20:51 I was very, very young, and I wanted to... 20:53 I wanted to practice because I wanted to be, 20:56 back then, I would say the best pianist in the world, 20:58 you know, because I was serving God, 21:00 and I wanted to give the very best that I had. 21:03 But then of course, you know, 21:04 I accepted Christ, was very young and my... 21:07 I studied piano in New York City 21:08 and did some studies in Juilliard, and... 21:13 You finally had to pay attention to the notes. 21:15 Yeah, that's how I picked it. 21:17 But the whole time through all that education, 21:20 my focus, my purpose was 21:21 to serve God with the gifts that He's given me. 21:24 And fast forward, 21:26 here we are on your network. 21:27 And that's exactly what we're doing, 21:29 we're blessing people. Praise the Lord. 21:31 And you've got a big tour coming up this year. 21:33 Yeah, well. You don't want to miss it. 21:34 And also I want to say that 21:36 there's maybe a little more time 21:38 before Christmas you guys 21:39 are doing programs down at Branson. 21:41 Oh, yeah, Christmas show. What's the name of the theater? 21:43 At the Shepherd of the Hills' Playhouse Theatre. 21:46 Okay, Shepherd of the Hills' Playhouse Theatre. 21:48 And that's on what? Tuesday and... 21:50 Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. 21:52 Saturday, okay. 21:53 And they get dinner with their ticket. 21:54 Oh, they get dinner. 21:56 Or lunch. Or lunch. 21:57 Ain't that great? It's going to be great. 21:58 I'm hungry right now. Can me and you go down? 22:00 Me too. I want to go. 22:02 I want to go. You want to go too? 22:03 Yes, I do. Okay. 22:05 Well, you see that, you can't say no to that. 22:07 Oh my goodness, no. 22:09 It's an intimate theater, 22:10 like it says, dinner theater, and it's... 22:13 I have my Austrian crystal piano there. 22:14 It's beautiful. 22:16 It's going to be just a night to come 22:17 and just feel good about yourself, 22:19 and I always end 22:20 with the true meaning of Christmas. 22:22 Oh, that's great. What Christmas is all about? 22:24 God sent His Son to this earth to die 22:26 as I mentioned a while ago, you know. 22:28 I came to be born in a manger, 22:30 then grew up to die 22:31 and then grew up to kind of save this world, you know. 22:33 Great testimony. 22:35 Cheryl, little bit, your background. 22:36 You grew up in a musical family, 22:38 of course your brother Gary, he's sang with a vocal band 22:40 and sing around the world and... 22:42 The Gaither Trio, oh, yes. 22:43 So this time of the year, Christmas, 22:44 did y'all get together? 22:46 Maybe you still doing, sing a little bit? 22:47 Do you still get a chance? Well, not too much. 22:48 My parents were known as the singing pastors, 22:51 and they had a radio program every morning 22:54 that was, excuse my age, but pre-TV. 22:57 Okay. 22:58 And so we, Gary and I sang harmony, 23:03 I get to do the harmony with him. 23:05 And we sang on the radio. 23:07 And that's the beginning of my wonderful career. 23:11 And then you guys met how long ago? 23:14 A long time ago. 23:15 Oh, goodness, many, many years back now. 23:17 A long time ago. I was playing a concert. 23:18 I walked out, there were Cheryl sitting out there, 23:20 and I said, "Okay, thank you, Jesus." 23:23 That's what I did. 23:25 And we have two wonderful daughters. 23:27 Oh! 23:29 Sheree and Christina. 23:30 And then we have two granddaughters. 23:32 Oh, that's fun. 23:34 And then we have a great granddaughter now. 23:35 Oh, you're not old enough for that. 23:37 Now I'm not going for that. 23:40 Probably be okay. 23:41 You started young. 23:43 Yeah, ain't that wonderful? 23:44 Actually, yes. 23:46 You know, I would... 23:47 Yeah, our backgrounds are very similar, right. 23:50 We have both raised in a church and our parents. 23:53 My dad was a Christian at the time when I was a child. 23:55 But of course, Cheryl's parents were ministers, you know. 23:59 And so we first met, I mean, 24:02 we really related very well, 24:03 you know, sang the same music, 24:06 you know, mansion over the hilltop 24:08 and all those songs that we grew up with, right? 24:11 But ain't it interesting that everyone, 24:14 I came from Southern Illinois here kind of country, 24:16 you came from New York. 24:17 So this time of year, 24:19 how did you kind of get into this spirit? 24:21 And did you do these types of songs or your churches, 24:24 or did you go out caroling, or what did you do? 24:27 We didn't go out caroling, 24:28 but we used to do a lot of like the Messiah, 24:31 stuff like that at Church, 24:33 and I just, I grew up with that. 24:34 Your grandma had that. 24:36 My grandmother had the new believers' choir, 24:38 Rosalie Jones. 24:39 A lot of folk will know her, 24:41 Yes, they will. 24:42 And she just... 24:44 She would do the Messiah every year. 24:46 And so I grew up playing it at home, 24:48 singing it in Church and just loving it. 24:52 All around the world, 24:53 especially this time of year that I always like to say 24:56 it's the only time here you can go into stores and, 24:59 you know, businesses all over and they're playing, 25:02 you know, music that's speaking about the Lord Jesus Christ. 25:04 Isn't it wonderful? Yeah. 25:06 Let's take advantage of that. Yeah. 25:07 We're not going to argue 25:09 that Christ was born on December 25. 25:10 We know He wasn't. 25:12 But that's not the whole point. 25:13 The point is He was born. 25:14 And He did give us life on the cross of Calvary. 25:17 And because of that great plan of salvation, 25:20 you and me have the hope of eternal life. 25:22 All we have to do is accept Jesus Christ 25:25 as Lord and Savior of our life, 25:27 then go and tell what He's done for us. 25:29 That's what everybody should be a ye. 25:31 That's what I tell folks, Go ye into all the world. 25:34 So Dino and Cheryl, you are going to all the world. 25:37 And this year, this coming year 25:39 you're doing a lot of traveling. 25:42 And so we're believing for you guys 25:44 are looking at a bus, they need a bus 25:46 because they got folks going with them 25:47 and there's beautiful bus. 25:48 Yes. 25:50 And we're believing with you that you get that bus. 25:51 Thank you. 25:53 So maybe some of you when you put the address 25:54 if you want to tuck in little love gift 25:55 for these folks, to help towards, they need it. 25:57 And they're travelling, a lot of folk with them. 25:59 Yeah. 26:01 And they're going from church to church to church. 26:02 In fact, if you are interested, go to the website, say, 26:05 "Can you put me on the schedule?" 26:07 We think that our people, 26:09 not only us old folk 26:10 but the young people in the Church 26:11 need to get back to the great hymns, 26:14 the pillars of the Church today. 26:16 And we include the choir and, 26:19 we just came off a tour, you know, 26:21 and because you've watched us last couple months, 26:24 and people are being saved. 26:27 I mean, it's a revival, it's a hidden revival. 26:31 Yeah. And that's the bottom line. 26:32 We want to see lives changed, you know, by the power of God. 26:35 So we just got off that tour. 26:36 And we were in a Winnebago. Yeah. 26:38 And my back right now hurts because... 26:41 Yeah, you need a little bit, 26:42 something a little bit more comfortable. 26:44 So I'm looking forward to you. We got to provide it. 26:45 We are appreciative of that, 26:46 but we do need a better vehicle to travel in. 26:50 So that maestro can rest. 26:53 That's right. 26:55 Get a little bit of rest. 26:56 All right, now, we're now going to let him rest. 26:58 Maybe we should turn you loose 26:59 and just, play to your little heart's content. 27:01 Well, I'll tell you what we do. 27:03 I'm going to play something I haven't played in my show. 27:04 Of course, the show is very productive, 27:06 productions, we have a lot of lights, 27:08 and it's very, very pretty. 27:10 And after my first number, which is a big number, 27:13 I just sit at the piano, lights dim 27:14 or actually Christmas trees come up slowly as I play. 28:49 I'm dreaming of a white Christmas. 28:52 Sing along with us. 28:55 I'm dreaming 28:59 Of a white Christmas 29:06 Just like the ones 29:09 I used to know 29:14 Where the treetops glisten 29:20 And children listen 29:25 To hear 29:29 Sleigh bells in the snow 29:37 I'm dreaming 29:41 Of a white Christmas 29:48 With every Christmas card 29:52 I write 29:56 May your days be 30:00 Merry and bright 30:09 And may all your Christmases 30:17 Be white 30:42 It's wonderful. 30:44 It's great. 30:45 Merry Christmas. I love it. 30:47 Merry Christmas. I love it. 30:49 Yes, it just puts you in that mood. 30:51 It does. 31:16 Some children see Him lily white 31:23 The baby Jesus born this night 31:29 Some children see Him lily white 31:36 With tresses soft and fair 31:43 Some children see Him bronzed and brown 31:50 The Lord of heav'n to earth come down 31:56 Some children see Him bronzed and brown 32:04 With dark and heavy hair 32:22 Some children see Him almond-eyed 32:30 This Savior whom we kneel beside 32:36 Some children see Him almond-eyed 32:43 With skin of yellow hue 32:49 Some children see Him dark as they 32:56 Sweet Mary's Son to whom we pray 33:03 Some children see him dark as they 33:10 And, oh they love Him too 33:17 The children in each different place 33:25 Will see the baby Jesus' face 33:32 Like theirs, but bright, with heavenly grace 33:40 And filled with holy light 33:46 Oh lay aside each earthly thing 33:53 And with thy heart as offering 34:03 Come worship now the infant King 34:11 'Tis love that's born tonight 34:20 'Tis love 34:25 That's born tonight 40:25 Oh, how I love Him 40:28 down from His glory, one of my favorite songs, 40:31 especially during the Christmas season 40:32 to know that God sent His Son to this earth 40:34 from the glory to this earth be born in a manger. 40:39 What a pleasure it is to sit here 40:41 at the piano of this wonderful setting. 40:44 I used to play the songs 40:45 that we sing during this Christmas season. 40:49 It's a real pretty carol. 41:40 "Silent Night." 41:45 Sing it with me if you want. 44:16 One of the favorites. 44:17 "O Holy Night." 44:19 This is the time of the year 44:21 that we should be celebrating the birthday of Jesus. 44:23 I know gifts are great. 44:25 It's wonderful to exchange gifts. 44:27 I like presents for sure. But that's fine. 44:30 In hustle and bustle of the season, 44:32 you go shopping and thinking about family, 44:35 and that's all wonderful. 44:36 Please don't forget whose birthday this is. 44:42 It's the birthday of Jesus. 44:47 Jesus, isn't it wonderful 44:49 that we're living Christ in Christmas? 44:51 Oh, yeah, of course. 44:53 That's what it's all about. 44:56 It's the birthday of Christ. 44:58 Let me play something now. 45:02 It's on one of my albums, like Christmas albums, 45:06 as quite appropriate for today, 45:08 what's going on with this world. 45:11 Let it be peace on earth. 45:14 And let it begin in you and me. 48:55 And let it begin in me. 48:57 Father, we thank you for the peace 49:00 that you give in our hearts, 49:01 that we receive you as our personal Savior, 49:04 even through the difficult times. 49:06 Whatever one may be going through 49:08 right now this very moment, 49:10 during this Christmas season, give them peace, 49:14 knowing that everything is being taken care of. 49:17 Father, you are the Prince of peace, 49:19 Prince of peace and our God. 49:23 We love you so much. 49:25 And we thank you for all the gifts 49:26 that you've given us. 49:28 The greatest gift is the gift 49:31 of sweet Jesus. 49:35 The gift of eternal life, someday, 49:37 but we receive you as our personal Savior. 49:42 Let there be peace on earth and let it begin in me. 49:44 What a wonderful opportunity that God has given me 49:46 to be able to sit here at this wonderful station 3ABN 49:50 and just sit here and just play. 49:52 That's all, as well like I'm in your living room. 49:54 This could be your living room.
