00:01 Cherri, with so many great ministries out there,
00:04 why should people get behind FARM STEW? 00:07 I guess, I would say the reason to get behind 00:09 FARM STEW is that we are going out there 00:12 teaching them to help themselves. 00:14 As God wants us to help others, 00:17 we're trying to help them 00:18 so that they can go out and help other people 00:20 in their organization, wherever you are. 00:24 And you know, there's a great quote 00:26 from Ellen White that we really hang on to, 00:29 and it says, "You may give to the poor 00:31 and injure them, 00:32 because you teach them to be dependent. 00:35 Instead teach them to help themselves, 00:37 this will be true help." 00:39 But then she says, 00:40 "The needy must be placed in a position 00:42 where they can help themselves." 00:44 And we see that as the role of FARM STEW 00:47 is to place the needy in a position 00:49 where they can help themselves. 00:50 Nice. 00:52 So we're very thankful to be part of 00:54 helping our church members have the capacity to go out 00:58 and even reach these people. 01:00 Like you said, Dr. Fred, he's in Uganda, 01:03 but he doesn't even know that poverty is out there 01:06 in the extreme way that it's out there 01:07 until we brought him to see it, and our trainers too, 01:10 they come in shocked about what they see. 01:16 That's really true because FARM STEW 01:20 take this message to their local people, 01:24 because so many of the organization 01:26 may spend more of their money 01:28 on administration and all of that, 01:31 but every, almost 80 cents of the dollar 01:36 go to help the local people. 01:38 So it helps the local people there. 01:40 Nice. Nice. Yes. 01:42 And, you know, that's one of the things 01:44 that I love about FARM STEW 01:46 as well is that you're not being an enabler, 01:49 but you're teaching people 01:50 how to be able to provide for themselves, 01:53 how to be able to put food on the table, 01:56 and do the farm-to-table. 01:57 Thank you so much for sharing, and thank you for joining us. 02:00 Until next time, God bless. |
